AI Technical Summary
When splicing existing LCD panels, factors such as frame sealant, glass cutting tolerance, and peripheral wiring cause splicing problems, which affects the display effect. In addition, the brightness of the light-emitting diode devices decreases at large viewing angles, and they are easily damaged and the chromaticity does not match. This results in discontinuous and abrupt display.
Set a cover plate at the seam. The cover plate is protruding away from the surface of the light-emitting diode device. Add a diffusing agent to the cover plate to adjust the white light chromaticity and haze to improve the viewing angle and protect the light-emitting diode device. At the same time, Use Mini LED, Micro LED or Mini OLED to produce first-class display panels and splicing them with LCD panels to eliminate joints and reduce costs.
The display effect of the display device is improved, the viewing angle is increased, the damage of the light-emitting diode device is prevented, and the display screen matches the liquid crystal display panel, extending the service life of the display module.
Abstract
Description
Display module, splicing screen and display device Technical Field
[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a display module, a spliced screen, and a display device. Background Art
[0002] Current LCD production lines can produce LCD panels up to the size of an 8.5-generation glass substrate, which measures 220cm x 250cm. This allows for the production of up to 110-inch LCD panels. However, the glass substrates are prone to breakage during the production process, resulting in low glass substrate utilization. Current production lines cannot directly produce LCD panels larger than 110 inches. Therefore, without increasing the size of the glass substrates, splicing is required to produce larger LCD panels.
[0003] In the actual production process, it is found that due to the limitations of factors such as frame sealing glue, glass cutting tolerance, and peripheral routing, there will be obvious seams at the locations where the LCD panels are spliced. The existence of this seam greatly affects the display effect of the final spliced display device.

The setting of the cover plate can realize the adjustment of the viewing angle of the display module, and the flat second surface of the cover plate can also make the appearance of the finally formed display device more beautiful.
[0006] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display module, which includes: at least two main display areas and a spliced display area, wherein, on one side of a light-emitting surface of the display module, at least a portion of the spliced display area is located between two adjacent main display areas; a first type of display panel is arranged in the spliced display area, and a second type of display panel is arranged in the main display area; on one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module, a cover plate is arranged on at least the first type of display panel, and a surface of the cover plate close to the first type of display panel includes a first surface that bulges toward a side away from the first type of display panel, and a surface of the cover plate away from the first type of display panel is a flat second surface.
[0007] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the display module further includes a first polarizer and a backlight module, wherein the first polarizer is on the side of the second type display panel close to the light emitting surface of the display module, and the backlight module is on the side of the second type display panel away from the first polarizer.
[0008] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the roughness of the second surface is the same as the roughness of the first polarizer.
[0009] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first polarizer has a smooth structure, and the second surface is a smooth plane.
[0010] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first polarizer has a hazy structure, and the second surface is a frosted plane.
[0011] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the cover plate also covers the second type of display panel.
[0012] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the cover plate has a diffusing agent, and the diffusing agent is configured to adjust the chromaticity of white light of the first type display panel and the haze of the display image.
[0013] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the material of the diffusing agent includes at least one of organic silane and silicon dioxide.
[0014] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first surface is a surface having an arc, and the smaller the radius of the arc, the larger the angle between the outgoing light and the direction perpendicular to the light-emitting surface.
[0015] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the radius of the arc is 3 mm to 10 mm.
[0016] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the average thickness of the cover plate in a direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the display module is 1 mm to 2 mm.
[0017] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first type of display panel includes a driving circuit and a light-emitting device, the light-emitting device is arranged on one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module, the driving circuit is arranged on the side opposite to the light-emitting surface, and the driving circuit is configured to drive the light-emitting device to emit light.

[0019] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the second type of display panel is a liquid crystal display panel.
[0020] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the light-emitting device is a Mini LED, and in a first direction parallel to the light-emitting surface of the display module, the width of each pixel unit in the first type of display panel is 1 to 2 times the width of each pixel unit in the second type of display panel.
[0021] For example, in the display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, in the first direction, the width of each pixel unit in the first type of display panel is twice the width of each pixel unit in the second type of display panel.
[0022] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, in the first direction, the width of each pixel unit in the first type display panel is the distance between two adjacent second type display panels in the first direction minus (0.1mm to 0.5mm).
[0023] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, each pixel unit in the first type display panel includes multiple sub-pixels, and the spacing between two adjacent second type display panels in the first direction is 2 to 5 times the width of the sub-pixel in the first direction plus (0.2 mm to 0.6 mm).
[0024] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the Mini LED includes a red chip, a green chip, and a blue chip, and the blue chip has the same main wavelength as the backlight module in the second type of display panel.
[0025] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the wavelength of the red chip is 620nm-650nm, the wavelength of the green chip is 520nm-550nm, and the wavelength of the blue chip is 440nm-470nm.
[0026] For example, in the display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1-1.8: 0.8-1.2: 0.9-1.4.
[0027] For example, in the display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip=1.6:1:1.15.
[0028] For example, in the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the light-emitting device is a Micro LED or a Mini OLED, and in a first direction parallel to the light-emitting surface of the display module, the width of each pixel unit in the first type of display panel is equal to the width of each pixel unit in the second type of display panel, and the sub-pixels in the light-emitting device and the sub-pixels in the second type of display panel correspond one to one.
[0029] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a spliced screen, which includes a plurality of connected display modules as described in any one of the above.
[0030] For example, in the splicing screen provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the width direction of each pixel unit in the first-type display panel is the first direction, and the extension direction of the splicing seam between adjacent second-type display panels is the second direction. Along the second direction, the first-type display panel is divided into multiple first-type sub-display units, and the length of each first-type sub-display unit in the second direction is 50 mm to 150 mm.
[0031] For example, in the splicing screen provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the first type of display panels are also provided around the splicing screen.
[0032] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a display device, which includes any of the display modules described above. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0046] To make the purpose, technical solutions, and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more clear, the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present disclosure will be clearly and completely described below in conjunction with the accompanying drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure. Obviously, the described embodiments are part of the embodiments of the present disclosure, not all of the embodiments. Based on the described embodiments of the present disclosure, all other embodiments obtained by ordinary technicians in this field without creative work are within the scope of protection of the present disclosure.
[0047] Unless otherwise defined, the technical or scientific terms used in this disclosure should have the usual meanings understood by persons of ordinary skill in the field to which this disclosure belongs. The words "first", "second" and similar terms used in this disclosure do not indicate any order, quantity or importance, but are only used to distinguish different components. Words such as "include" or "comprise" mean that the elements or objects appearing before the word include the elements or objects listed after the word and their equivalents, without excluding other elements or objects. Words such as "connect" or "connected" are not limited to physical or mechanical connections, but may include electrical connections, whether direct or indirect. "Up", "down", "left", "right" and the like are only used to indicate relative positional relationships. When the absolute position of the object being described changes, the relative positional relationship may also change accordingly.
[0048] Large-screen spliced display devices are typically formed by splicing together liquid crystal display (LCD) panels. During the manufacturing process of LCD panels, a sealant is required to seal the liquid crystal within a specific area. However, the area where the sealant is located cannot display. Furthermore, glass cutting tolerances, peripheral wiring, and other factors can also cause the edges of the LCD panels to be non-displayable. Consequently, when using LCD panels to manufacture spliced display devices, a wide non-display area typically exists between the display areas of adjacent LCD panels. This wide non-display area results in a noticeable seam in the spliced display device. The presence of this seam disrupts the continuity of the displayed image when the large-screen spliced display device is in operation, thereby significantly affecting the display quality of the large-screen spliced display device.
[0049] The inventors of the present disclosure have noticed that it is possible to form a light-emitting diode device in the seam so that a display can also be provided at the seam position. However, this structural design will result in a significant decrease in brightness of the light-emitting diode when viewed at a wide viewing angle, a small viewing angle, and poor display effects. In addition, the surface of the light-emitting diode device formed in the seam has no protective structure, which can easily cause scratches on the light-emitting diode device or damage to the light-emitting diode device due to collisions, thereby affecting the reliability of the final large-screen spliced display device. In addition, after the light-emitting diode device is formed in the seam, the chromaticity of the light-emitting diode device will not match the chromaticity of the liquid crystal display panel, resulting in the display screen not being integrated and having a noticeable abruptness. Therefore, the inventors of the present disclosure have noticed that a cover plate can be formed above the light-emitting diode device, and the surface of the cover plate close to the light-emitting diode device is set to bulge toward the side away from the light-emitting diode device, so that the viewing angle of the final display device is increased, thereby improving the display effect of the display device. Moreover, the cover plate can also prevent external rigid materials from scratching or colliding the light-emitting diode device, thereby protecting the light-emitting diode device. A diffusing agent can also be added to the cover plate to improve the white light chromaticity of the light-emitting diode device and the haze of the display screen, so that its display screen is more matched with the display screen of the liquid crystal display panel.
[0050] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure provides a display module, which includes: at least two main display areas and a spliced display area. On one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module, at least a portion of the spliced display area is located between two adjacent main display areas. A first type of display panel is arranged in the spliced display area, and a second type of display panel is arranged in the main display area. On one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module, a cover plate is arranged on at least the first type of display panel, and the surface of the cover plate close to the first type of display panel includes a first surface that protrudes toward a side away from the first type of display panel. The first surface of the cover plate is arranged to protrude toward a side away from the light-emitting diode device, and the surface of the cover plate away from the first type of display panel, that is, the second surface, is arranged to be a flat surface. This can increase the viewing angle of the final display device, thereby improving the display effect of the display device.
[0051] For example, Figure 1 is a schematic diagram of the planar structure of a display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, and Figure 2 is a schematic diagram of the cross-sectional structure of a display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. In combination with Figures 1 and 2, the display module 100 includes: at least two main display areas 101 and a spliced display area 102. On one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, at least a portion of the spliced display area 102 is located between two adjacent main display areas 101. A first type of display panel 103 is arranged in the spliced display area 101, and a second type of display panel 104 is arranged in the main display area 101. On one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, a cover plate 105 is arranged at least on the first type of display panel 103, and the surface of the cover plate 105 close to the first type of display panel 103 includes a first surface 105a that bulges toward a side away from the first type of display panel 103, and the surface of the cover plate 105 away from the first type of display panel 103 is a flat second surface 105b. For example, the first surface 105a may be a portion or the entire surface of the cover plate 105 near the first type display panel 103, that is, the entire surface of the cover plate 105 near the first type display panel 103 may be raised toward the side away from the first type display panel 103, or a portion of the surface near the first type display panel 103 may be raised toward the side away from the first type display panel 103, while the other portion of the surface of the cover plate 105 near the first type display panel 103 remains flat. In the structure shown in FIG2 , the entire surface of the cover plate 105 near the first type display panel 103 is raised toward the side away from the first type display panel 103. This allows the entire cover plate 105 to adjust the viewing angle of the display module 100. Moreover, because the surface of the cover plate 105 away from the first type display panel 103 is the flat second surface 105b, the entire cover plate 105 can increase the viewing angle of the display module 100. The flat second surface 105b also makes the appearance of the resulting display device more aesthetically pleasing.
[0052] For example, in the plan view shown in FIG1 , in the longitudinal direction, the first type display panel 103 extends beyond the second type display panel 104, so that the first type display panel 103 can cover the area of the black matrix at the edge of the second type display panel 104, so that the image displayed by the entire display device is more uniform. Although it cannot be seen from the plan view shown in FIG1 , in fact, in the direction perpendicular to the paper, the first type display panel 103 protrudes from the second type display panel 104, and even in the spliced display area 102, there is a structure of the second type display panel 104, but the second type display panel 104 cannot display in the spliced display area 102. Therefore, it is equivalent to the second type display panel 104 raising the first type display panel 103 so that the first type display panel 103 can protrude from the second type display panel 104.
[0053] For example, after the Micro LED light-emitting elements are manufactured, it is usually necessary to use mass transfer technology to transfer a large number of Micro LED light-emitting elements to the array layer so that each Micro LED light-emitting element can display independently. However, the size of Micro LED is very small, and mass transfer of tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of Micro LED light-emitting elements is not only difficult to process but also very expensive. In addition, Micro OLED display panels will experience afterimage flickering and other phenomena when used for a long time, and cannot be mass-produced into large-size display panels. Therefore, it is usually considered to use LCD panels as the second type of display panel with a larger size, and use Mini LED, Micro LED or Mini OLED to make the first type of display panel. The first type of display panel and the second type of display panel are then spliced to achieve a display module of any size. This display module can not only effectively weaken or eliminate the splicing seam, but also help reduce the production cost of the display module and extend the service life of the display module. Moreover, when Mini LED, Micro LED or Mini OLED is used to make the first type of display panel, the first display panel has the advantages of high brightness, low power consumption, and high and low temperature resistance, which can also effectively extend the service life of the display module 100.
[0054] For example, the first type of display panel 103 and the second type of display panel 104 are different types of display panels. In one example, the first type of display panel 103 is a light-emitting diode display panel, and the second type of display panel 104 is a liquid crystal display panel. The light-emitting diode display panel can also be selected as a different type of light-emitting diode display panel, for example, it can be selected as at least one of a Micro LED display panel, a Mini LED display panel, and a Mini OLED display panel. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this. The following is an example in which the first type of display panel 103 is a Mini LED display panel and the second type of display panel 104 is a liquid crystal display panel. The display area of the second type of display panel 104 (liquid crystal display panel) corresponds to the main display area 101, and the display area of the first type of display panel 103 (Mini LED display panel) corresponds to the spliced display area 102, so that the seam position between the two adjacent second type display panels 104 can actively emit light, thereby eliminating the seam between the two adjacent second type display panels 104, so that the final display device can display a continuous display image.
[0055] Although only two second-type display panels 104 are shown in FIG1 , the final display device may include more second-type display panels 104 according to actual selection and specific requirements, and all second-type display panels 104 are distributed in an array.
[0056] For example, as shown in FIG2 , the first type of display panel 103 includes a driving circuit 1031 and a light-emitting device 1032. The light-emitting device 1032 is disposed on one side of the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, and the driving circuit 1031 is disposed on the side opposite the light-emitting surface. The driving circuit 1031 is configured to drive the light-emitting device 1032 to emit light. Placing the driving circuit 1031 on the side opposite the light-emitting surface allows the driving circuit 1031 to not occupy the position of the light-emitting surface of the ultimately formed display module, thereby improving the display efficiency of the display module.
[0057] For example, as shown in FIG. 2 , the driving circuit 1031 and the second type display panel 104 have an overlapping area.
[0058] For example, as shown in FIG2 , the first type display panel 103 further includes a circuit board 1033 connecting the driving circuit 1031 and the light-emitting device 1032. The circuit board 1033 may be a flexible circuit board so that it can be bent. A portion of the circuit board 1033 extends to the side of the display device, so that the circuit board 1033 does not occupy the position of the light-emitting surface of the display module, thereby improving display efficiency.
[0059] For example, FIG3 is a schematic diagram of the circuit connections of a first type of display panel provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG3 , the circuit board 1033 is connected to the light-emitting device 1032 via a first adhesive 1034, and the driving circuit 1031 is connected to the circuit board 1033. The first adhesive 1034 can be an OCR optical adhesive, a heat-sensitive adhesive, or a double-sided tape, which is not limited in the embodiments of the present disclosure.
[0060] For example, FIG4 is a schematic cross-sectional view of the region shown in FIG3 where the cover plate is provided. As shown in FIG4 , the entire surface of the cover plate 105 proximal to the first type display panel 103 is convex toward the side away from the first type display panel 103, i.e., the entire first surface 105a is convex toward the side away from the first type display panel 103. The second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 is a flat surface. When light is emitted from the light-emitting device 1032, the angle between it and the direction perpendicular to the light-emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 is a first angle α. When light is emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105, the angle between it and the direction perpendicular to the light-emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 is a second angle β. This second angle β is greater than the first angle α, thereby increasing the viewing angle of the resulting display module.
[0061] For example, FIG5 is a schematic diagram of a cross-sectional structure of another region provided with a cover plate according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG5 , a portion of the surface of the cover plate 105 adjacent to the first type display panel 103 is raised toward a side away from the first type display panel 103, while another portion of the surface of the cover plate 105 adjacent to the first type display panel 103 remains flat. It should be noted that the first surface 105a shown in FIG5 is raised only in the middle portion of the cover plate 105 toward a side away from the first type display panel 103, while the portions on both sides remain flat. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this. Alternatively, portions on both sides may be raised toward a side away from the first type display panel 103, while the middle portion remains flat. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this. In the structure shown in Figure 5, the angle between the light emitting device 1032 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when the light is emitted is a first angle α, and the angle between the light emitting device 1032 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when the light is emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 is a second angle β. The second angle β is greater than the first angle α, thereby increasing the viewing angle of the display module finally formed.
[0062] It should be noted that the first surface 105a that protrudes toward the side away from the first type display panel 103 is not limited to an arc-shaped protrusion, but can also be a protrusion with a triangular cross-sectional shape. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this, as long as the first angle between the light emitting device 1032 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when the light is emitted is smaller than the second angle between the light emitting device 1032 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when the light is emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105.
[0063] For example, in combination with Figures 4 and 5, the first surface 105a is a surface with an arc, and the surface of the cover plate 105 away from the first type display panel 103 is a flat second surface 105b. The structure of the cover plate 105 with an arc makes the second angle between the light incident on the cover plate 105 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when it is emitted from the second surface 105b, relative to the first angle between the light incident on the cover plate 105 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 when it is incident on the cover plate 105, will change, that is, the second angle is greater than the first angle. It can be seen from Figures 4 and 5 that the smaller the radius of the arc, the larger the angle between the light emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103. For example, the radius of the arc in Figure 4 is larger than the radius of the arc in Figure 5, so that the second angle between the light emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 shown in Figure 4 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 is smaller than the second angle between the light emitted from the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 shown in Figure 5 and the direction perpendicular to the light emitting surface of the first type display panel 103.
[0064] For example, the smaller the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105, the greater the thickness of the cover plate 105 will be. This thickness can be the average thickness of the cover plate 105. This will cause the cover plate 105 to protrude more from the second type display panel 104, thereby affecting the appearance of the final display device. Therefore, when designing the structure of the cover plate 105, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the thickness of the cover plate 105 and the viewing angle of the final display device. For example, in one embodiment, the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 3 mm to 10 mm.
[0065] For example, in one embodiment, the first surface 105 a of the cover plate 105 includes an arc with a radius of 3 mm, 4 mm, 5 mm, 6 mm, 7 mm, 8 mm, 9 mm, or 10 mm.
[0066] For example, as shown in Figures 2 and 3 , the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1 mm to 2 mm in a direction perpendicular to the light-emitting surface of the display module 100. For example, the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1 mm, 1.2 mm, 1.4 mm, 1.6 mm, 1.8 mm, or 2 mm. The radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 and the thickness of the cover plate 105 need to be comprehensively considered.
[0067] For example, in one example, the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 3 mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1 mm; or, the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 4 mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1.2 mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 5 mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1.4 mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 6 mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1 .6mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 7mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1.6mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 8mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1.8mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 9mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 1.8mm; the radius of the arc included in the first surface 105a of the cover plate 105 is 10mm, and the average thickness of the cover plate 105 is 2.0mm.
[0068] For example, FIG6 is a schematic diagram of the cross-sectional structure of a cover plate and a second adhesive provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG6 , the cover plate 105 can be formed on one side of the light-emitting surface of the first type display panel 103 by the second adhesive 109. For example, in one example, an OCA optical adhesive is attached to the back of the cover plate 105. The OCA optical adhesive can bond the cover plate 105 to the edge of the second type display panel 104, ultimately forming a complete display module structure. In addition to being an OCR optical adhesive, the second adhesive 109 can also be a heat-sensitive adhesive or a double-sided adhesive, as long as the second adhesive 109 has the characteristics of bonding performance and light transmittance, and the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this.
[0069] For example, FIG7 is a schematic cross-sectional view of another display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG7 , the cross-sectional view is obtained by cutting at the location of the second type display panel 104. The display module 100 further includes a first polarizer 106 and a backlight module 107. The first polarizer 106 is located on the side of the second type display panel 104 close to the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, and the backlight module 107 is located on the side of the second type display panel 104 away from the first polarizer 106. The backlight module 107 can provide backlight for the second type display panel 104 and can be a light-emitting diode that emits blue light. The first polarizer 106 can polarize the light emitted from the second type display panel 104.
[0070] For example, as shown in Figure 7, the display module 100 also includes a middle frame 110, the second type display panel 104 includes a liquid crystal box 1041, the first polarizer 106 is arranged on the main surface of the liquid crystal box 1041, and the middle frame 110 is arranged on the side of the liquid crystal box 101 away from the first polarizer 106.
[0071] It should be noted that the liquid crystal cell 1041 has two main surfaces, one of which is a display surface and the other is a surface opposite to the display surface. The first polarizer 102 is disposed on the display surface of the liquid crystal cell 1041 .
[0072] For example, other structures of the second type display panel 104 shown in FIG. 7 , such as the middle frame, the back plate, the liquid crystal box, etc., can refer to conventional designs and will not be described in detail here.
[0073] For example, in one example, the roughness of the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 is the same as the roughness of the first polarizer 106. This design can make the effect of light emitted from the second type display panel 104 and then passing through the first polarizer 106 the same as the effect when the light is emitted from the first type display panel 103 and then passes through the cover plate 105, that is, the cover plate 105 will not affect the chromaticity of the first type display panel 103.
[0074] For example, in one example, the first polarizer 106 has a smooth structure, and the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 is a smooth plane, so that when the light is emitted from the first type display panel 103 and then passes through the cover plate 105, the cover plate 105 will not affect the haze of the emitted light, so that the haze effect is the same as that after the light is emitted from the second type display panel 104 and then passes through the first polarizer 106.
[0075] For example, in one example, the first polarizer 106 has a hazy structure, and the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105 is a frosted plane. The frosted structure can change the haze of the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105, so that the effect of light emitted from the second type display panel 104 and then passing through the first polarizer 106 is the same as the haze effect when the light is emitted from the first type display panel 103 and then passes through the cover plate 105.
[0076] For example, Figure 8 is a schematic diagram of the cross-sectional structure of another display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 8, the cover plate 105 also covers the second type display panel 104. The cover plate 105 is an integrated structure, covering the light-emitting surface of the entire display module, that is, the structure of an integral cover plate 105 covers at least one first type display panel 103 and two second type display panels 104.
[0077] For example, as shown in Figure 8, the cover plate 105 with an integrated structure ensures that the light emitting surfaces when emitted from the first type of display panel 103 and the light emitting surfaces when emitted from the second type of display panel 104 are on the same plane, that is, both are the second surface 105b of the cover plate 105. The first type of display panel 103 and the second type of display panel 104 are on the same plane in appearance and screen, so that the display screen brings better visual effects to the user.
[0078] For example, in the structure shown in Figure 8, the setting of the cover plate 105 can reduce the abruptness of the appearance. The edge of the cover plate 105 is attached with double-sided tape, and the cover plate 105 can be bonded and fixed to the second type display panel 104 through the double-sided tape to achieve the purpose of firm fixation and easy assembly and disassembly.
[0079] For example, in one embodiment, the cover plate 105 includes a diffusing agent, which is configured to adjust the chromaticity of the white light and the haze of the display image of the first type display panel 103. Different materials of the cover plate 105 and different concentrations of the diffusing agent added to the cover plate 105 will have a certain impact on the chromaticity of the first type display panel 103. Therefore, the chromaticity of the white light of the first type display panel 103 and the haze effect of the image on the light-emitting surface can be adjusted by adjusting the material of the cover plate 105 and the diffusing agent added to the cover plate 105, so that the chromaticity of the first type display panel 103 matches the chromaticity of the second type display panel 104.
[0080] It should be noted that the design of adding a diffusing agent to the cover plate 105 can be applied to any of the above embodiments to adjust the chromaticity of white light of the first type display panel 103 and the haze effect of the light emitting surface.
[0081] For example, in one embodiment, the material of the diffusing agent includes at least one of organosilane and silicon dioxide. That is, the diffusing agent added to the cover plate 105 can be organosilane, silicon dioxide, or a mixture of organosilane and silicon dioxide. Of course, the diffusing agent can also be other materials that can adjust the white light chromaticity and haze of the display image of the first type display panel 103, and the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this.
[0082] For example, when light passes through the diffuser in the cover plate 105, it will be reflected and refracted, and the light will be lost, which will cause the color of the color coordinates to change. The higher the concentration of the diffuser, the smaller the X / Y coordinates, and the bluer the color of the light; the lower the concentration of the diffuser, the larger the X / Y coordinates, and the redder the color of the light. Therefore, the concentration of the diffuser in the cover plate cannot be too high or too low.
[0083] For example, in one example, the light-emitting device 1032 is a Mini LED. FIG9 is a comparison diagram of pixels of a first type display panel and a second type display panel provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. In a first direction X parallel to the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 is 1 to 2 times the width W2 of each pixel unit in the second type display panel 104. As shown in FIG9 , in the first direction X, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 is twice the width W2 of each pixel unit in the second type display panel 104, but the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto. In the first direction X, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 can also be 1.2 times, 1.5 times, or 1.8 times the width W2 of each pixel unit in the second type display panel 104, or, in the first direction X, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 can also be equal to the width W2 of each pixel unit in the second type display panel 104.
[0084] For example, in one example, in the first direction X, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 is the distance between two adjacent second type display panels 104 in the first direction X minus (0.1 mm to 0.5 mm). In FIG9 , three pixel units included in the first type display panel 103 are located between two adjacent second type display panels 104, and there is also a gap between the three pixel units.
[0085] For example, in one embodiment, each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 includes multiple sub-pixels, and the spacing between two adjacent second type display panels 104 in the first direction X is 2 to 5 times the width of the sub-pixel included in each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 in the first direction X plus (0.2 mm to 0.6 mm). This distance design can optimize the display effect of the display module 100. If the spacing between two adjacent second type display panels 104 in the first direction X is too large, the image quality may be poor, such as large-angle black edges. If the spacing between two adjacent second type display panels 104 in the first direction X is too small, the Mini LED circuit board design may lack sufficient space, thereby affecting the reliability of the Mini LED circuit board.
[0086] For example, in one example, the Mini LED includes a red chip, a green chip, and a blue chip, and the blue chip has the same main wavelength as the backlight module 107 in the second type display panel 104, that is, the backlight module 107 in the second type display panel 104 also uses a blue light-emitting diode.
[0087] For example, in one example, the wavelength of the red chip is 620nm to 650nm, the wavelength of the green chip is 520nm to 550nm, and the wavelength of the blue chip is 440nm to 470nm. The blue chip uses the same main wavelength as the light-emitting diode in the second type of display panel to ensure the consistency of the blue picture color between the Mini LED display unit and the second type of display panel. The selection of the wavelength of the red chip and the wavelength of the green chip needs to be determined according to the results of the red main wavelength and the green main wavelength after matching the light-emitting diode and the color filter in the second type of display panel. The embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to this.
[0088] For example, in one example, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1-1.8: 0.8-1.2: 0.9-1.4. For example, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1: 0.8: 0.9; or, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1.2: 1: 1.2; or, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1.6: 1.1: 1.3; or, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip is 1.8: 1.2: 1.4; or, in one example, the current value of the red chip: the current value of the green chip: the current value of the blue chip = 1.6: 1: 1.15.
[0089] For example, in one example, the chromaticity of the second type display panel 104 is X=0.28±0.01, Y=0.29±0.01, the wavelength of the Mini LED blue chip is 455nm, the wavelength of the red chip is 625nm, and the wavelength of the green chip is 525nm. Correspondingly, the driving current of the Mini LED is 1.6mA for the red chip, 1mA for the green chip, and 1.15mA for the blue chip.
[0090] For example, in one example, the light-emitting device 1032 in the first type display panel 103 may also be a Micro LED or a Mini OLED. For example, FIG10 is a schematic planar structural diagram of a display device in the first type display panel provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure being a Micro LED. As shown in FIG10 , in a first direction X parallel to the light-emitting surface of the display module 100, the width W1 of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 and the width W2 of each pixel unit in the second type display panel 104 are equal, and the sub-pixels in the light-emitting device 1032 correspond one-to-one to the sub-pixels in the second type display panel 104. That is, one sub-pixel in one light-emitting device 1032 corresponds to one sub-pixel in one second type display panel 104. For example, in one example, assuming that the sub-pixels in the second type display panel 104 are arranged in the order of red sub-pixel 104r, green sub-pixel 104g, and blue sub-pixel 104b in the first direction X, the red sub-pixel 1032r, green sub-pixel 1032g, and blue sub-pixel 1032b in the light-emitting device 1032 are also arranged in the first direction X. In this way, the light emitted from the first type display panel 103 and the light emitted from the second type display panel 104 can be displayed in the same color sequence, further reducing the difference in brightness between the display images of the first type display panel 103 and the display images of the second type display panel 104.
[0091] For example, the second direction Y intersects the first direction X. In one example, the second direction Y is perpendicular to the first direction X. In the second direction, one sub-pixel in a light-emitting device 1032 corresponds to one sub-pixel in a second-type display panel 104, and adjacent sub-pixels display different colors.
[0092] For example, Figure 11 is a schematic diagram of the planar structure of another first-type display panel provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, in which the display device is a Micro LED. As shown in Figure 11, a first-type display panel 103 is also provided on the outer edge of the second-type display panel 104 to achieve a better display effect of the display module.
[0093] For example, regarding the structures such as the cover plate, please refer to the above description of the display device in the first type of display panel being Mini LED, which will not be repeated here.
[0094] For example, the structure when the display device in the first type of display panel is Mini OLED can refer to the above description of the display device in the first type of display panel being Micro LED, and will not be repeated here.
[0095] In summary, the first type of display panel 103 can be a Micro LED (Micro Light-Emitting Diode) display panel, a Mini LED (Mini Light-Emitting Diode) display panel or a Mini OLED (Mini Organic Light-Emitting Diode, organic electroluminescent device) display panel. The embodiment of the present disclosure can achieve seamless splicing of various types of second type display panels by arranging the first type of display panel in the splicing display area, thereby continuously expanding the application field of the display module. It should be noted that in order to control the first type of display panel to display the picture, a corresponding driving circuit and control chip, etc. can be set in the non-display area of the second type of display panel.
[0096] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a splicing screen, which includes a plurality of connected display modules as described above. For example, FIG12 is a schematic diagram of the cross-sectional structure of the splicing screen provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG12 , the splicing screen 20 includes a plurality of display modules 100 provided by any of the above embodiments. Although FIG12 shows that the splicing screen 20 includes a splicing screen formed by 9 display modules 100, the embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited thereto and may also include other numbers of display modules 100, for example, 2, 4, 6, 12, etc.
[0097] For example, as shown in Figure 12, the width direction of each pixel unit in the first type display panel 103 is the first direction X, and the extension direction of the seam between adjacent second type display panels 104 is the second direction Y. Along the second direction Y, the first type display panel 103 is divided into multiple first type sub-display units, and the length of each first type sub-display unit in the second direction Y is 50mm to 150mm.
[0098] For example, a display unit that is too long is prone to warping, thereby affecting the assembly of the spliced screen. A display unit that is too short will result in an excessive number of display units, making the assembly process more complicated, thereby affecting the assembly efficiency of the spliced screen.
[0099] For example, in one example, the packaging pitch of the Mini LED is 1.26 mm, the width of the Mini LED display unit is 3.9 mm, and the length of the first type sub-display unit along the second direction Y is 80 mm to 100 mm. For example, in the structure shown in Figure 12, the first type display panel 103 can be divided into 19 segments of the first type sub-display unit along the second direction Y.
[0100] For example, as shown in FIG12 , the first type of display panel 103 is also provided around the splicing screen 20 .
[0101] At least one embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a display device comprising any of the display modules described above. For example, the display device in the embodiments of the present disclosure may be any product or component with a display function, such as a monitor, an OLED panel, an OLED television, electronic paper, a mobile phone, a tablet computer, a laptop computer, a digital photo frame, or a navigation system.
[0102] The display module, spliced screen, and display device provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure have at least one of the following beneficial technical effects:
[0103] (1) In the display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the surface of the cover plate close to the first type of display panel includes a first surface that is convex toward a side away from the first type of display panel, and the surface of the cover plate away from the first type of display panel is a flat second surface, which can increase the viewing angle of the display module, and the flat second surface can also make the appearance of the ultimately formed display device more beautiful.
[0104] (2) In the display module provided by at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the cover plate can prevent external rigid materials from scratching or colliding with the first type of display panel, thereby causing damage to the first type of display panel.
[0105] (3) In the display module provided in at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, a diffusing agent is added to the cover plate, and the diffusing agent can improve the chromaticity of white light and the haze of the display image of the first type of display panel, so that the display image of the first type of display panel and the display image of the second type of display panel are more matched.
[0106] There are a few points to note:
[0107] (1) The drawings of the embodiments of the present disclosure only relate to the structures related to the embodiments of the present disclosure. Other structures may refer to conventional designs.
[0108] (2) For the sake of clarity, in the drawings used to describe the embodiments of the present disclosure, the thickness of layers or regions is exaggerated or reduced, that is, these drawings are not drawn according to the actual scale.
[0109] (3) In the absence of conflict, the embodiments of the present disclosure and the features therein may be combined with each other to form new embodiments.
[0110] The above description is only a specific embodiment of the present disclosure, but the protection scope of the present disclosure is not limited thereto. The protection scope of the present disclosure shall be based on the protection scope of the claims.
