Power and data hub for soldiers

Abstract

A portable power and data hub 100 comprising waterproof housing 105, with at least one power and data connector port 142, 144, 146 for receiving a connector of a peripheral device. Housing 105 has an electrical energy storage unit (200, fig. 8) a data storage unit (300, fig. 8) and a serial bus (e.g. bridge 500, fig. 8) connecting energy storage unit, data storage unit and each of the at least one power and data ports 142, 144, 146. A peripheral device with a connector received in one of the power and data ports may communicate electrical energy with the energy storage unit, data with the data storage unit, and may communicate electrical energy and / or data with any further power and data connector ports. Optionally, power and data connector ports may be universal connector ports. A charging and data transfer station for portable power and data hub 100 is also disclosed.
