Connector and connector assembly

Abstract

A connector (fig 1, 100) and a connector assembly comprising: a housing 1 with a height direction (fig 1, Z); a core 2 installed into housing; and a terminal (fig 1, 3) which is in core and extends along height direction. Core is floatable, installed into housing, and is moveable relative to housing in a direction perpendicular to height direction (for example to ensure smooth mating of connector and mating connector). Connector may comprise connection hole (fig 2, 22), threaded hole (fig 2, 14), connecting piece (fig 2, 4), connection ear (fig 2, 21), installation panel (fig 1, 5), installation port (fig 4, 501), sealing ring 6, anti-mis-operation hole and protrusion (fig 1, 1b & 5b), end cap (fig 4, 9) and locking portion (fig 10, 9a). May comprise mating connector (fig 6, 100’). Mating connector may include housing 1’, floatable mating core (fig 9, 2’), threaded hole 14’, threaded connecting piece 4’, installation panel 5’, second connection ears 21’, anti-mis-installation protrusion (fig 9, 5b’), sealing ring installation groove (fig 10, 17’), second sealing ring 7’, installation port (fig 8, 501’) and second end cap (fig 9, 9’).
