Abstract
Description
The device rests between the seatbelt and the wearer. The device raises the seatbelt away from the chest area. This makes the seatbelt more comfortable. Many people find wearing a seatbelt uncomfortable because the seatbelt cuts into their chest and breast area. This means that many people do not wear their seatbelts correctly. Summary (statement of invention): This device, by raising the seatbelt, increases the wearers comfort as it lifts the seatbelt away from the chest and breast area. The device attaches to the seatbelt but still allows the free flowing of the belt as it is put on and taken off. The device is placed just below the collar bone. The device is wider than the seatbelt at its base. This extra width can help improve a person’s centre of gravity around the belt and so help reduce whiplash in an accident. The device is wedge shaped and has a raised stepped structure that allows the seatbelt to be easily attached and removed. These steps are raised to allow the seatbelt to pass through. Behind these steps the surface is coarse which allows movement but also holds the device to the belt when not in use. This means that the device hangs onto the belt just below the buckle when not in use.
