Abstract

This invention discloses a Geothermal Dehydrator for Geothermal Energy-Based Food Drying that utilizes geothermal waste steam as a heat source through an indirect heating system for the dehydration process of food materials. This device consists of a drying chamber in the form of a closed cabinet made of aluminum which is equipped with a supporting frame, a tiered drying rack made of stainless steel, a cabinet door coated with aluminum, rockwool, and stainless steel, a stainless steel heating pipe placed at the bottom and top of the drying chamber, a hot steam outlet, a temperature indicator, a condensate drain, a hot steam trap, a hot steam inlet valve, and a hot steam outlet valve. The geothermal waste steam is channeled through the heating pipe so that heat is transferred indirectly to the air in the drying chamber without direct contact with the food material. The moisture from the drying process is removed through a hot steam outlet, while the condensate formed in the piping system is channeled through a condensate drain and automatically disposed of using a hot steam trap so that heat transfer efficiency is maintained. This invention produces a drying process that is faster, more stable, hygienic, and independent of weather conditions compared to conventional drying methods, and supports the direct use of geothermal energy as an energy-saving, efficient, and environmentally friendly food drying technology.
