Abstract

This image is a vehicle information display image that is displayed on a display or head-up display visible to passengers of a remotely controlled vehicle, and on a display visible to the operator of a remote device that remotely controls the vehicle. The image shown in [Image] is displayed when switching from actual driver-controlled driving to remote-controlled driving with the vehicle traveling straight ahead (the vehicle's steering angle is 0 degrees). It shows the state in which the direction of the line indicating the steering angle of the remote device, shown by the solid line (the direction of travel of the vehicle under remote control), is shifted to the left relative to the direction of the line indicating the steering angle of the vehicle's wheels, shown by the dashed line (the actual direction of travel of the vehicle). When the steering wheel of the remote device is steered to the right from the state shown in [Image], the line indicating the steering angle of the remote device moves in a direction that reduces the angle between the line indicating the steering angle of the remote device and the line indicating the steering angle of the vehicle's wheels, in accordance with the steering angle of the remote device, resulting in the state shown in [Image 1 Showing the Change]. When the line indicating the steering angle of the remote device and the line indicating the steering angle of the vehicle's wheels align, the steering icon disappears from the screen, as shown in [Image 2 Showing the Change], and remote control is permitted.
