Abstract

The object of the present design is a Shinto altar. As shown in the reference oblique view for explaining the names of each part, the present design comprises a bottom plate, an ornament in the shape of a torii gate attached to the bottom plate, a front plate attached to the bottom plate and arranged behind the ornament, and a rear plate attached to the bottom plate and arranged behind the front plate. As shown in the reference oblique view showing each part disassembled, the ornament, front plate, and rear plate are assembled so as to be detachable from the bottom plate. The front plate of the present design has a plurality of openings penetrating the front plate in the thickness direction. As shown in the reference oblique view for explaining the names of each part, the Shinto altar of the present design is used by placing Shinto altar items such as ofuda (paper charms) and sakaki (branch of a tree) between the front plate and the rear plate, so that some of the Shinto altar items can be seen through the openings in the front plate. In addition, the left and right widths of the openings are set so that when the Shinto altar is viewed from a diagonal side away from the front, the Shinto altar items arranged on the rear side of the front plate are difficult to see through the openings.
