Abstract

This item is a Western-style kitchen knife with a blade and handle. The shape of the blade's peak is curved like the curvature of a Japanese sword over almost its entire length, while the area near the tsubu where it connects to the handle is straight so that the cook can place his or her fingers on it if necessary. The material that makes up the blade is stainless steel cutlery steel with a hardening hardness of HRC65. In the actual product, the blade is engraved with a flickering pattern reminiscent of a flame near the handle. The material that makes up the handle is stabilized wood, which is made by permeating natural wood with resin and hardening it. In the actual product, the poplar is permeated with scarlet resin to create a beautiful crimson-dyed grain pattern.
