Laparoscopic dilation instruments for vaginal surgery

Abstract

The article of this design is an expansion device used in transvaginal laparoscopic surgery (surgery in which the anterior and posterior vaginal vaults are incised without incising the abdomen, and a laparoscope and instruments are inserted through the incisions). The expansion device is composed of an elastic outer ring formed in a circular shape when viewed from above, an elastic inner ring formed in a substantially elliptical shape, and a flexible elastic sheet that is placed between the outer ring and the inner ring and expands and connects both ends of the outer ring and the inner ring. One side of the elastic sheet has a series of hexagonal depressions. The inner ring is inserted into the vagina, and the outer ring is placed on the body surface, and the vagina is expanded by the tension of both rings and the elastic sheet. By placing an access port (not shown) in the outer ring, a trocar (not shown) that guides an endoscope or forceps can be inserted, and the elastic sheet portion becomes a passage for surgical instruments such as an endoscope and forceps.
