Abstract

This article is a placement block that is placed on and used on the surface of an earth structure (e.g., a ridge) constructed by embankment. As shown in the reference diagram indicating the usage state, when this article is placed on the surface of the earth structure, a space where weeds can grow is formed between this article and the earth structure. On the other hand, external light is blocked by this article, reducing its incidence into the said space. Therefore, for the earth structure on which this article is placed, the growth of weeds is suppressed, reducing the burden of mowing the grass, and it becomes possible to leave the roots of the weeds, preventing the outflow and collapse of the soil of the earth structure. This article may be arranged side by side on the earth structure. In this case, grooves into which connectors for connecting adjacent articles are fitted may be formed on this article. Also, in the reference diagram indicating the usage state, this article is placed on the upper surface (flat ground) of the earth structure, but it may also be placed on the slope of the earth structure.
