Unhooking Multiplier

Abstract

These pliers are specifically designed to easily remove fishing hooks with one hand, without holding the fish down. Conventional pliers have straight upper and lower jaws, which grip round-shank fishing hooks at two points, making it difficult to securely hold them. To address this issue, these pliers feature a deep recess in the lower jaw and a vertical groove in the upper jaw. This allows the hook to be firmly secured at three points—one on the lower jaw and two on the upper jaw—when gripping the hook. Furthermore, the groove in the upper jaw provides a recess for the protrusion of the lower jaw, ensuring smooth operation. The lower jaw also features a large bulge, which acts as a fulcrum, allowing the edge to function as a lever. By placing this fulcrum against the fish's body, the hook can be easily removed by gently rotating it while holding it. The greatest feature of these pliers is their smooth, one-handed hook removal.
