Abstract

The article of the present design is a tree felling tool primarily used in tree felling operations under or near power lines. The article is attached to a control rod (e.g., an electrically insulating control rod). The article includes a tip having a U-shaped portion and a sickle-shaped portion, and a control rod attachment. The control rod attachment can be attached to the tip of the control rod. A single blade is formed on the inside of each of the U-shaped and sickle-shaped portions. When felling trees using a saw or other tool, the worker can hold the tree and push it in any direction by contacting the inside of the U-shaped portion of the article attached to the control rod with the trunk or branch of the tree to be felled and digging the single blade into the tree. This prevents the tree from swaying during felling and also controls the direction of the tree's fall. In addition, the single blade formed on the inside of the sickle-shaped part of this item attached to the operating rod can be brought into contact with the object to be cut, such as thin branches of the tree to be felled and surrounding trees, or vines located around the tree to be felled, and the operating rod can be pulled toward you to pull and remove the object to be cut.
