Abstract

This item is a stud welding pin used to secure insulation or other covering material to a base material of a ship, vehicle, building, etc. As shown in the "front view" and "reference diagram showing the pin and washer before assembly," this pin consists of a separate pin and washer for pressing against the covering material. This pin has a step formed between the rear and front ends of the pin shaft. The washer is first placed on the surface of the covering material, and then, as shown in the "reference diagram showing the pin and washer after assembly" and "reference diagram 1 showing the state in use," the pin's gripping portion is held with the collet chuck of a welding gun, and the pin is inserted into the center hole of the washer. While pressing with the step of the pin, discharge is generated between the pin and the base material by stud welding, welding the pin to the base material as shown in "reference diagram 2 showing the state in use." As shown in the "AA cross section reference diagram" in the "Reference diagram showing the state before the pin and washer are assembled," the step of the pin is designed to only come into contact with the upper side of the washer, and because this step does not come into contact with the coating material, burn damage to the surface of the coating material can be reduced during discharge.
