Culture container

Abstract

This product is a culture vessel for culturing cells and algae. The product consists of a translucent container body made of silicone rubber, an upper holder and a lower holder that are attached to the container body, and a cap that is detachably attached to the upper holder. The container body is petri dish-shaped with a flange at the top. The upper holder is disc-shaped with an opening in the center that has a screw thread for attaching and detaching the cap, and a latch receiving portion on its outer circumference for fastening the latch of the lower holder, which will be described later. The lower holder consists of a hollow ring, six pillars extending downward from the ring, and a latch provided on the outer circumference of the ring that fastens to the latch receiving portion of the upper holder. The container body is inserted into the ring, the flange is locked onto the ring, the container body is placed in the lower holder, the upper holder with the cap attached is placed over it from above, and the latch is fastened to the latch receiving portion, thereby closing the container body with the upper holder, lower holder and cap. When the container is closed, removing the cap allows the culture medium or other liquids to be injected into the container body through the opening in the upper holder. Also, when the container is closed, releasing the latch from its latch receiver allows the upper holder to be removed from the container body and the lower holder.
