Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to an adapter for a pipe joint, such as a conversion adapter used for converting the structure of a joint portion of a pipe joint, or a connection adapter used for connecting the joint portions of adjacent pipe joints. [Background technology]
[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a joint for converting a pipe from an outer surface seal structure to an inner surface seal structure. Another such joint is the conversion adapter shown in Non-Patent Document 1 (e.g., "HJS type conversion adapter"). This conversion adapter can be used with both the first pipe joint in Non-Patent Document 2 (e.g., "WH type double lock header") and the second pipe joint in Non-Patent Document 3 (e.g., "AE type header").
[0003] 7 shows the state in which the conversion adapter 100 of Non-Patent Document 1 is used with the first pipe joint 50A of Non-Patent Document 2. The first pipe joint 50A has a joint part 51 at its end for connecting a resin pipe (not shown). The joint part 51 has a well-known one-touch joint structure, and has two lock rings 52 and two seal rings 53.
[0004] The metal lock ring 52 bites into the outer circumferential surface of the resin pipe inserted into the joint part 51 to prevent the resin pipe from coming off. The seal ring 53 abuts against the outer circumferential surface of the resin pipe to ensure watertightness between the first pipe joint 50A and the resin pipe, and two seal rings 53 are provided along the insertion direction of the resin pipe (left-right direction on the paper). The two seal rings 53 are disposed on the inner side of the joint part 51 than the lock ring 52. The inner circumferential surface of the first pipe joint 50A is reduced in diameter on the inner side of the joint part 51 than the seal ring 53, and an abutment surface 54 is formed to abut and regulate the insertion position of the resin pipe.
[0005] The conversion adapter 100 includes a cylindrical portion 101 for insertion into the joint portion 51 of the first pipe joint 50A, and a main body portion 102 connected to the cylindrical portion 101 and having a joint structure different from that of the joint portion 51. The cylindrical portion 101 and the main body portion 102 are made of metal such as brass or bronze. The main body portion 102 has an outer diameter larger than that of the cylindrical portion 101, and is provided with a seal surface 103 on its inner circumferential surface. A plug 61 having a seal ring 60 on its outer circumferential surface is inserted and connected to the main body portion 102. The plug 61 is prevented from coming off the conversion adapter 100 by a flange 62 of the plug 61 and a flange 104 of the main body portion 102 being clamped by a quick fastener 71.
[0006] The conversion adapter 100 is inserted into the first pipe fitting 50A to a position where the main body 102 abuts against the open end face 55 of the fitting part 51. The tip part 105 of the tubular part 101 has tapered surfaces formed on the outer circumferential surface and the inner circumferential surface, and becomes thinner toward the tip. In the insertion direction of the tubular part 101, the tip of the tubular part 101 is located between the seal ring 53 on the inner side of the first pipe fitting 50A and the abutment surface 54.
[0007] A first engagement groove 106, a second engagement groove 107, and a seal surface 108 are each provided annularly in the circumferential direction on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 101. The first engagement groove 106, the second engagement groove 107, and the seal surface 108 are positioned in this order from the main body 102 side toward the tip of the cylindrical portion 101. The lock ring 52 of the first pipe fitting 50A is engaged with the second engagement groove 107 to prevent the conversion adapter 100 from coming off. The two seal rings 53 of the first pipe fitting 50A come into contact with the seal surface 108 to ensure watertightness between the pipe fitting 50A and the conversion adapter 100.
[0008] As described above, by inserting the conversion adapter 100 into the first pipe fitting 50A and abutting the main body portion 102 against the opening end face 55 of the fitting portion 51, the lock ring type fitting portion 51 is converted into a quick fastener type fitting structure using the main body portion 102.
[0009] 8 shows the state in which the conversion adapter 100 of Non-Patent Document 1 is used with the second pipe joint 50B of Non-Patent Document 3. The second pipe joint 50B is a one-touch type pipe joint equipped with one lock ring 52 and one seal ring 53, in which a resin pipe is inserted between a substantially cylindrical outer tube portion 56 and an inner tube portion 57 formed inside the outer tube portion 56.
[0010] An insertion guide 58 is disposed between the outer tube portion 56 and the inner tube portion 57, and is pressed against the tip of the resin pipe to guide the insertion of the resin pipe. On the inner side of the joint portion 51 beyond the seal ring 53, the outer tube portion 56 and the inner tube portion 57 are connected to form an abutment surface 54 for abutting and regulating the insertion position of the insertion guide 58. The insertion guide 58, pressed against the tip of the resin pipe, abuts against the abutment surface 54, thereby defining the insertion position of the resin pipe into the second pipe joint 50B.
[0011] The second pipe fitting 50B has a different configuration from the first pipe fitting 50A, and the distance from the opening end face 55 of the fitting part 51 to the lock ring 52 is shorter than the distance in the first pipe fitting 50A. Therefore, when the conversion adapter 100 is inserted into the second pipe fitting 50B and the main body part 102 is abutted against the opening end face 55 of the fitting part 51, the lock ring 52 is engaged with the first engagement groove 106 of the conversion adapter 100.
[0012] In other words, the conversion adapter 100 includes the first engagement groove 106 and the second engagement groove 107, and is therefore compatible with the first pipe joint 50A and the second pipe joint 50B, the joint portion 51 of which has a different configuration. [0015] However, when the conversion adapter 100 is used with another pipe fitting having a fitting portion with a different configuration from the first pipe fitting 50A and the second pipe fitting 50B, the positional relationship between the lock ring of the fitting portion and the first engagement groove 106 and the second engagement groove 107 of the tubular portion 101 and / or the positional relationship between the seal ring 53 of the fitting portion 51 and the seal surface 108 of the tubular portion 101 may be significantly shifted in the axial direction of the tubular portion 101.
[0016] Therefore, it may not be possible to achieve a suitable engagement relationship between the lock ring 52 and the first engagement groove 106 or the second engagement groove 107, or a suitable contact relationship between the seal ring 53 and the seal surface 108.
[0017] For example, FIG. 9 shows a state in which the conversion adapter 100 of Non-Patent Document 1 is used with the one-touch type third pipe joint 50C (e.g., "socket") of Non-Patent Document 4. When the conversion adapter 100 is used with the third pipe joint 50C, which has a different configuration from the first pipe joint 50A and the second pipe joint 50B, the lock ring 52 is engaged with the first engagement groove 106, while the second engagement groove 107 is disposed at the position of the seal ring 53 on the lock ring 52 side of the two seal rings 53, and the pipe seal function is impaired. Therefore, for the third pipe joint 50C, it was necessary to prepare a conversion adapter from which, for example, the second engagement groove 107 is deleted, separately from the conversion adapter 100.
[0018] An object of the present invention is to provide a pipe joint adapter which can easily be used with pipe joints of different configurations. [Means for solving the problem]
[0019] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the invention of claim 1 is a pipe fitting adapter comprising a tubular portion made of synthetic resin for insertion into a fitting portion of a pipe fitting, and a main body portion connected to the tubular portion and having a fitting configuration or sealing plug configuration different from the fitting portion, wherein an engagement groove into which a lock ring for preventing pipe slip-out that the fitting portion has enters and engages, and a seal surface with which a seal ring for sealing the pipe that the fitting portion has contacts are each provided annularly in the circumferential direction on the peripheral surface of the tubular portion, and an engagement region into which two lock rings for preventing pipe slip-out that a fitting portion of a pipe fitting other than the pipe fitting has fit and engage, is provided on the peripheral surface of the tubular portion between the engagement groove and the seal surface, on the same cylindrical surface as the seal surface. Effect of the Invention
[0020] The pipe fitting adapter of the present invention has an engagement region, separate from the engagement groove, into which two lock rings of a fitting portion of another pipe fitting bite and engage, making it easier to accommodate the pipe fitting compared to a case in which an engagement groove is provided to accommodate the lock ring of the pipe fitting. The engagement region into which the lock ring bites and engages is easily realized because the tubular portion (engagement region) is made of synthetic resin. [Brief description of the drawings]

[0022] Hereinafter, a first embodiment and a second embodiment of the present invention will be described. (First embodiment)
[0023] As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the conversion adapter 1 as an adapter for a pipe fitting has the same configuration as a conventional conversion adapter 100, except that the tubular portion 101 and the main body portion 102 are made of a synthetic resin such as polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) [engineering plastic], there is only one engagement groove 2 which is long in the axial direction, and there is an engagement region 3 between the engagement groove 2 and the seal surface 108 which is on the same cylindrical surface as the seal surface 108 (in other words, has a larger diameter than the engagement groove 2).
[0024] FIG. 1 shows a state in which the conversion adapter 1 is connected to a first pipe fitting 50A. The two lock rings 52 are engaged by biting into the engagement region 3, not into the engagement groove 2, of the conversion adapter 1. FIG. 2 shows a state in which the conversion adapter 1 is connected to a second pipe fitting 50B. One lock ring 52 of the second pipe fitting 50B is engaged into the engagement groove 2 of the conversion adapter 1. FIG. 3 shows a state in which the conversion adapter 1 is connected to a third pipe fitting 50C. One lock ring 52 of the third pipe fitting 50C is engaged into the engagement groove 2 of the conversion adapter 1.
[0025] 1 to 3, the seal surface 108 is disposed at the position of the seal ring 53, in other words, the engagement groove 2 is not disposed at that position, and therefore the pipe seal function is not impaired by the engagement groove 2. This is largely due to the fact that the two lock rings 52 of the coupling part 51 of the first pipe coupling 50A have engagement regions 3 that bite into and engage with each other.
[0026] That is, the engagement region 3 into which the two lock rings 52 of the coupling portion 51 of the first pipe coupling 50A bite into and engage with each other is provided separately from the engagement groove 2, making it easier to accommodate the first pipe coupling 50A compared to a case in which an engagement groove is provided to accommodate the lock rings 52 of the first pipe coupling 50A. The engagement region 3 into which the lock rings 52 bite into and engage is easily realized because the tubular portion 101 (engagement region 3) is made of synthetic resin.
[0027] Second embodiment As shown in Figs. 4 to 6, the connection adapter 10 as a pipe fitting adapter has the same configuration as the conversion adapter 1 of the first embodiment, except that it has a pair of cylindrical parts 101 on the same axis instead of a main body part 102, and a flange part 11 on the same axis between the pair of cylindrical parts 101. In other words, the connection adapter 10 is for connecting the fitting parts 51 of pipe fittings (first pipe fitting 50A to third pipe fitting 50C) arranged close to each other. In addition, when the connection adapter 10 is connected to the first pipe fitting 50A and the third pipe fitting 50C, cylindrical incores 12 made of metal are inserted into the ends of the pair of cylindrical parts 101.
[0028] (Another example) The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured as a sealing plug for waterproofing.
[0029] The main body portion 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured for size conversion as a one-touch joint structure with a nominal diameter different from that of the joint portion 51.
[0030] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured as an elbow joint for changing the flow path direction.
[0031] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured as a branch joint having multiple connection ports.
[0032] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured for screw connection.
[0033] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured for pipe type conversion by having a joint structure that is compatible with a pipe type different from the plastic pipe to be connected to the joint portion 51.
[0034] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured to be equipped with a valve for opening and closing the flow path.
[0035] The main body 102 of the conversion adapter 1 is configured as an intake valve for draining water. [Explanation of symbols]
