Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a rare earth complex having a coumarin skeleton. [Background technology]

[0002] Optoelectronics, such as optical communications and displays, and the light energy conversion industry, such as solar cells, are key technologies of the next generation, and various inorganic glass materials, ceramic materials, laser materials, organic low-molecular-weight luminescent materials, wavelength conversion materials, etc. are being created for use in these fields.

[0003] A wavelength conversion material is a material that absorbs light of a specific wavelength and emits light of a different wavelength, and can be used as an optical material by adding it to a resin material.

[0004] In recent years, rare earth complexes having β-diketonato and phosphine oxide ligands (Patent Documents 1 and 2) and rare earth complexes having phenanthroline ligands (Non-Patent Document 1) have been reported as such wavelength conversion materials. These rare earth complexes can absorb short-wavelength light such as ultraviolet light and emit longer-wavelength visible light, and therefore can be used in light-emitting devices that emit various colors of light when combined with semiconductor light-emitting elements such as light-emitting diodes (LEDs) (Patent Document 3).

[0005] The rare earth complexes include rare earth complexes having a coumarinato ligand (Non-Patent Document 2 and Patent Document 4). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0006] [Patent Document 1] USSR Patent Invention No. 1453860 [Patent Document 2] JP 2003-81986 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2005-15564 A [Patent Document 4] International Publication No. 2023 / 282236 [Non-patent literature]

[0007] [Non-Patent Document 1] CrystEngComm,,vol.11,,pp.1197(2009) [Non-Patent Document 2] Inorganic Chemistry, Vol. 57, p. 908 (2018) Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0008] However, when a rare earth complex having a specific coumarinato ligand is produced using a conventional production method, it can be synthesized with good purity in a small-scale reaction, but on a large scale, the reaction time takes time, which causes hydrolysis of the coumarinato ligand to progress and produces by-products that are difficult to remove, making it impossible to produce a rare earth complex with good purity. In addition, Patent Document 4 discloses a method for producing a rare earth complex having a coumarinato ligand, but does not provide a specific example of a method for producing a rare earth complex using a coumarinato compound having an organic cation as disclosed in this disclosure. The present disclosure aims to provide a method for producing a rare earth complex having a coumarinato ligand with good purity even on a large scale. [Means for solving the problem]

[0009] As a result of extensive research aimed at solving the above problems, the present inventors have found that a rare earth complex can be produced with high purity by carrying out a reaction using a coumarinato compound having an organic cation in a two-phase solvent of an organic solvent and water.

[0182] Ethanol (19mL) was added to europium(III) acetate hydrate (1.57g, 3.71mmol as 5.2 hydrate) and trioctylphosphine oxide (2.87g, 7.41mmol) and stirred at room temperature for 2 hours. A mixture of 4-hydroxy-3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethane-1-one-1-yl)-2H-chromene-2-onatoimidazolium and trifluoroacetate imidazolium (5.65g, molar ratio = 1:1.0, 4-hydroxy-3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethane-1-one-1-yl)-2H-chromene-2-onatoimidazolium 11.1mmol) was added to the reaction mixture and stirred at room temperature for 3 hours. After distilling off the reaction solvent under reduced pressure, 28mL of toluene was added and the resulting precipitate was filtered off. This toluene solution was washed three times with water, and the solvent was then removed by distillation under reduced pressure. The residue was dried in vacuum at 80° C. for 13 hours to obtain a colorless oil. 1 H-NMR revealed that the product was not the target compound, tris[4-hydroxy-3-(2,2,2-trifluoroethan-1-one-1-yl)-2H-chromen-2-onato]bis(trioctylphosphine oxide)europium(III).
