Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to an aerosol product, and more particularly to an aerosol product containing a water-based paint. [Background technology]
[0002] Paints are materials that contain coating components and are used on target substrates. Although there are paints that do not contain solvents, such as powder paints and solventless paints, paints generally contain solvents as a medium. Water-based paints contain water as a medium, and such paints are applied to substrates and a coating is formed after a drying process.
[0003] A brush or roller can be used to spread the paint on the substrate. However, the efficiency of painting using a brush or roller is not always sufficient, so it is possible to use a water-based paint as an aerosol paint. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0004] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2-311514 [Patent Document 2] JP 2016-510082 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2003-82294 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] The inventors of the present application realized that there were still problems to be overcome with conventional aerosol products, and found it necessary to take measures to address these problems. Specifically, they found the following problems:
[0006] Conventional water-based paints used in the form of aerosol products are sprayed from a container in which they are placed, but the coating film formed on the surface to be coated is not always the desired film in some cases.
[0007] More specifically, the coating film obtained by spraying an aerosol paint tends to be formed in a relatively "loose state", and the adhesion to the surface to be coated may not necessarily be as desired. Therefore, the inventors of the present application have found that there is a demand for further improvement in adhesion of the coating film formed by spraying from a container.
[0008] The present invention has been made in view of the above problems. That is, the main object of the present invention is to provide an aerosol product for a water-based paint, which contributes to improving the adhesion of a coating film formed on a substrate. [Means for solving the problem]
[0009] The inventors of the present application attempted to solve the above problems by taking a new approach, rather than simply extending the conventional technology, and as a result, they came up with the invention of an aerosol product that achieves the above-mentioned main object.
[0010] In the present invention, there is provided an aerosol product, An aerosol product is provided which contains at least a water-based paint and a propellant component in a container, and further contains a glycol ether material in the container. Effect of the Invention
[0011] According to the present invention, even though the coating is an aerosol product of a water-based coating material, the coating film formed on the substrate through spray formation tends to be more desirable.
[0012] More specifically, the coating film obtained from the aerosol product of the water-based paint of the present invention can have improved adhesion to the coated surface, even though it is a coating film formed by spraying from a container. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0013] The "aerosol product" according to the present invention will be described in more detail below. However, more detailed explanation than necessary may be omitted. For example, detailed explanation of already well-known matters or duplicate explanation of substantially the same components or elements may be omitted. This is to avoid unnecessary redundancy in the explanation and to facilitate understanding by those skilled in the art. Note that the embodiments described below are intended to explain the technical idea of the present invention and do not particularly limit the present invention.
[0014] Various numerical ranges mentioned in this specification are intended to include the lower and upper limit numerical values themselves, unless a special term such as "less than" or "more than / greater than" is added. In other words, for example, a numerical range such as 1 to 10 can be interpreted as including the lower limit of "1" and the upper limit of "10". In addition, terms such as "about" and "approximately" mean that the range may include a variation of a few percent, for example, ±10%.
[0015] [Foundations and other information that form the basis of the present invention] Although there are paints that do not contain solvents, such as powder paints and solvent-free paints, paints generally contain solvents as a medium. Although it is possible to use organic solvents as paint solvents, it is also possible to imagine some inconveniences associated with this. For example, when paint is used in a closed space, it is possible that the organic solvent in the paint will volatilize during painting, and the painting work space may be filled with the organic solvent. This is merely one example, but when anti-rust paint is used, anti-rust treatment is applied to steel components and the like for the purpose of preventing corrosion (for example, anti-rust treatment can be applied to bridges, steel towers, ships, marine structures, etc.), but it is easy to imagine a space with poor ventilation as the painting work space.
[0016] Volatilized organic solvents often contain harmful aromatic hydrocarbons such as ethylbenzene, xylene, and toluene, which are of concern for inducing neurological disorders and cancer. Therefore, the installation of exhaust equipment and the use of protective equipment such as organic gas gas masks or air-supplied masks are required during painting work under the Ordinance for Prevention of Harm from Specified Chemical Substances and the Ordinance for Prevention of Organic Solvent Poisoning. However, since many bridges and other structures are located at high altitudes or on the sea, it is generally difficult to transport and install exhaust equipment in the painting work space, which can be essentially a closed space. In addition, since accessing such a painting work space requires moving between stairs and ladders, it can also be difficult to wear an air-supplied mask. Furthermore, when wearing an organic gas gas mask, the time that the absorption canister can be used is limited, which limits the time spent in the painting work space. Furthermore, when working at high altitudes, there is a limit to the amount of spare absorption canisters that can be brought with you.
[0017] In view of these circumstances, the inventors of the present application are proceeding with the development of water-based paints that are safer while still being used for rust prevention, etc. In the development of such water-based paints, they are particularly proceeding with the development of aerosolized water-based paints. This is because, when painting with a brush, roller, or hand sprayer such as a sprayer, the work efficiency is not as high as in the case of aerosol types, and also because, when painting with a brush or roller, the burden increases in terms of painting tools and accessories that must be brought to the work site.
[0018] It is generally recognized by those skilled in the art that aerosolization of water-based paints is difficult, and little progress has been made in the development of this technology. When aerosolizing, the water-based paint can be placed in a container together with a propellant (e.g., a hydrocarbon material such as dimethyl ether) used for the aerosolization. The inventors of the present application have found, in the course of trial and error development of such aerosolization, that adding a certain substance to the propellant used in the aerosol product improves the shelf life of the aerosolized water-based paint without causing gelation, and thus the coating film finally obtained through spray formation is more likely to be a desirable film. Specifically, they have found that, when such a substance is not added, the coating film formed on the surface to be sprayed from the aerosol container is likely to be in a "sparse state," whereas, when the substance is added, the coating film is likely to be in a relatively "dense state." In particular, they have found that the coating film thus suitably formed can have higher adhesion to the surface to be sprayed, preferably in combination with a "denser state" and / or a "more uniform state," etc.
[0019] [Aerosol product of the present invention] The present invention relates to an aerosol product. Preferably, the aerosol product of the present invention comprises an aqueous paint. More specifically, the aerosol product is a product in which an aqueous paint for aerosol spraying and a propellant for aerosolization are filled in a container.
[0020] In particular, in the present invention, at least a glycol ether substance is added to the aerosol product, that is, the aerosol product of the present invention is a container filled with a water-based paint and a propellant component, and a glycol ether substance is charged in the container as an aerosol additive, particularly as a substance different from the propellant component.
[0021] By including such an aerosol additive, the coating film finally formed from the aerosol product is likely to be in a relatively "dense state". In other words, the coating film formed by spraying the paint from a container in which the paint is charged as an aerosol product in the present invention is likely to be provided as a denser film (e.g., a more dense film). From another perspective, it can be said that the coating film finally formed from the aerosol product is a more uniform film. In addition, in the coating film obtained by spraying and forming from the aerosol product of the present invention, a wet state (e.g., a condensed state, etc.) between the coating film and the surface to be coated is likely to be suppressed. Due at least to such a "denser state", "more uniform state" and / or "state in which wetting between the coating film and the surface to be coated is suppressed", the coating film formed from the aerosol product of the present invention can have improved adhesion to the surface to be coated. In other words, the coating film will be provided for a longer period in the intended use, and a coating film that is highly significant to those involved in aerosol paints, including painters, can be obtained.
[0022] In this specification, the term "aerosol product" refers in a broad sense to a product that can release the contents in a container to the outside of the container by the action of a propellant component, i.e., an aerosol paint spray product. In a narrow sense, the term "aerosol product" refers to a product or structure that can forcefully release the contents in a container to the outside of the container at least by the action of a propellant component charged in the container (typically, a product or structure that is essentially different from the type that sprays by substantially directly using manual power, such as a so-called "sprayer").
[0023] The aerosol product according to the present invention contains an aqueous paint as an aerosol-filled paint concentrate in a container. The aqueous paint that is aerosolized or aerosol-sprayed according to the present invention is one in which the paint emulsion contained as a vehicle may be an aqueous emulsion.
[0024] Such paint emulsions are emulsions in which particles as dispersoids (preferably particles containing film-forming components) are contained together with a dispersion medium. In the present invention, since the emulsion is an aqueous emulsion, the dispersoids (dispersoid particles) may be dispersed in the water contained as the dispersion medium. That is, in aqueous paints, particles as film-forming particles are dispersed in an aqueous medium such as purified water, deionized water, distilled water and / or ion-exchanged water. To form an emulsion, the aqueous paint may be a paint in which a plurality of such film-forming particles are dispersed.
[0025] The paint contained in the aerosol product of the present invention is a paint that is "water-based" and does not use organic solvents as a medium. Therefore, the paint used in the present invention preferably does not contain organic solvents that volatilize or dissipate after application (especially organic solvents as paint medium or aerosolized paint stock solution medium). In this regard, the paint used in the present invention (e.g., anti-rust paint described later) does not contain organic solvents or organic components that require the installation of exhaust equipment and / or the use of protective equipment such as organic gas gas masks or air supply masks under the Specific Chemical Substance Hazard Prevention Regulations and / or Organic Solvent Poisoning Prevention Regulations. For example, the water-based paint in the present invention is based on a water medium and does not contain aromatic hydrocarbons, and more preferably does not contain harmful aromatic hydrocarbons such as ethylbenzene, xylene and / or toluene.
[0026] Since the present invention is an aerosol product, the propellant component contained therein contributes to the spraying of the paint contained in the container. There are no particular limitations on the type of propellant component, so long as it is one used in general aerosol products.
[0027] The propellant component used in the aerosol product of the present invention may be essentially different from hand spray types such as so-called "atomizers", and may be a propellant component containing a hydrocarbon. Such a hydrocarbon is not particularly limited as long as it is generally used as an aerosol paint stock solution. For example, in an aerosol product, the hydrocarbon used together with the water-based paint may be at least one selected from the group consisting of liquefied petroleum gas, linear ethers, and fluorohydrocarbons. An example of a linear ether is dimethyl ether. From another perspective, the hydrocarbon of the propellant component may contain, for example, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and may contain, for example, an alkyl group having 1 to 8, 1 to 7, 1 to 6, 1 to 5, 1 to 4, 1 to 3, or 1 to 2 carbon atoms. More specific examples of such alkyl groups include methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, isopropyl, n-butyl, isobutyl, sec-butyl, tert-butyl, n-pentyl, n-hexyl, n-heptyl, n-octyl, n-nonyl, and / or n-decyl groups. Similarly, from another perspective, the hydrocarbons of the propellant components may contain halogen atoms in their molecular structure, such as fluorine (F), chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), and / or iodine (I). In the present invention, commercially available propellant components can be used as the "propellant components."
[0028] The container used for the aerosol product may be any container, for example a metal container (preferably a pressure-resistant metal container or a sealable pressure-resistant metal container), as long as it can contain at least the water-based paint and the propellant component (and preferably the glycol ether substance) inside the container (as long as the water-based paint, the propellant component and the glycol substance can be contained inside / in the hollow portion of the container), preferably in a sealed state. It can also be said that any container may be used, as long as it can substantially maintain the initial state in which the water-based paint and the propellant component are filled together for aerosol spraying. For example, the container used for the aerosol product may be a sealed container, for example a sealable / sealable container that is airtight and / or liquid-tight. Also, the container used for the aerosol product may be a rigid and / or pressure-resistant container, for example a metal container (for example a rigid metal container). Such a container used in the present invention may have the form of a can. Briefly, the container used in the present invention may be any container used for conventional aerosol products, ie, an aerosol container or an aerosol can.
[0029] For example, the container used for the aerosol product of the present invention may be a sealable pressure-resistant container. More specifically, the container used for the aerosol product may be a container equipped with an injection mechanism or accessories for injection, preferably a sealable pressure-resistant container, and may be, for example, a sealable pressure-resistant container (e.g., a sealable pressure-resistant metal container, a sealable pressure-resistant can, or a sealable pressure-resistant metal can) equipped with at least a button (an injection button, e.g., a button equipped with an injection hole), a valve (preferably a valve that contributes to sealing and injection), and a tube extending into the container (preferably a tube provided in a state capable of fluid communication with them, e.g., a dip tube whose one end can be positioned in the container contents to contribute to injection) as accessories. Such a container for an aerosol product may be equipped with a dip tube, a valve, an actuator, a button, a nozzle, and / or a cap, as non-limiting examples. In other words, it can be said that there is no particular limitation on the elements other than the container contents of the aerosol product of the present invention. Therefore, the same or similar containers as those generally used for aerosol products can be used, and their accessories and related members (e.g., dip tubes, valves, actuators, buttons, nozzles and / or caps, etc.) may also be the same or similar to those generally used for aerosol products. In other words, the "container" in the present invention, including its accessories, can be a commercially available one (e.g., one used as a conventional aerosol can, etc.).
[0030] By way of example only, the container may be a can used for industrial applications such as insecticides, cosmetics, and / or grease. The inner surface of the can may be resin-coated and / or laminated so that the water-based paint can be more appropriately enclosed. If portability is particularly important, the container capacity (particularly the internal volume) may be, for example, about 100 to 500 mL or 200 to 400 mL.
[0031] The aerosol product of the present invention is a product in which an aqueous paint as an aerosol-filled paint concentrate is combined with a propellant component in a sealed container. For example, an aqueous paint diluted with water as necessary is combined with a propellant component (such as the above-mentioned hydrocarbon) in a sealed container as an aerosol-filled paint concentrate to provide an aerosol product. The term "aerosol-filled paint concentrate" as used herein refers to a paint concentrate that is combined with a propellant component to obtain an aerosol product, and may be taken to refer to a paint concentrate that has already been diluted with water as necessary (i.e., an aqueous paint that already has a desired water content for use in an aerosol product). In the present invention, commercially available products can be used as the "aqueous paint".
[0032] The aerosol product according to the present invention is filled with an aqueous paint and a propellant component in a container, and further contains a glycol ether substance in the container. In other words, the glycol ether substance is a substance contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component (preferably a substance provided as a component different from the hydrocarbon of the propellant component). In this specification, the glycol ether substance may be, for example, a substance that at least partially contains the concept of glycol and / or the concept of ether, and more specifically, may be a substance that can be generally recognized by those skilled in the art as a "glycol ether type" or "glycol ethers" (for example, it may be a substance that can be generally recognized by those skilled in the art as such a glycol ether, including the concept of a derivative).
[0033] In the present invention, the aerosol product of the water-based paint containing the glycol ether substance separately from the propellant component is more likely to provide a denser film (e.g., a denser film) when the paint is sprayed. In other words, when comparing the present invention with the "aerosol product of the water-based paint not containing the glycol ether substance separately from the propellant component", the former containing the glycol ether substance can form a relatively denser film. For example, the former containing the glycol ether substance can provide a film with relatively fewer voids (in short, a film with a less sponge-like film form, a continuous film, etc.), and, as an example, when the water-based paint is a water-based anti-rust paint described later, it can also provide a film that is more likely to exhibit the intended anti-rust properties. And, due to such a relatively dense film and / or due to other actions (e.g., the action of suppressing the wet state between the paint film and the surface to be coated), the aerosol product of the present invention can further improve the adhesion and / or water resistance of the film formed by spraying it onto the surface to be coated. In other words, when comparing "an aerosol water-based paint containing a glycol ether substance separately from the propellant component" with "an aerosol water-based paint not containing a glycol ether substance separately from the propellant component," the former containing a glycol ether substance can form a coating film with relatively high adhesion to the substrate and / or water resistance. A coating film that is provided as a film with higher adhesion and / or water resistance can also be used for a longer period in related applications, which can bring desirable benefits to those involved in aerosol paints related to the coating film.
[0034] By way of example only, the glycol ether substances contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component include at least methyl cellosolve (EM), methyl carbitol (DM), ethyl cellosolve (EE), ethyl carbitol (DE), ethyl cellosolve acetate (CAC), ethyl carbitol acetate (DCAC), butyl cellosolve (EB), butyl carbitol (DB), butyl cellosolve acetate (BAC), butyl carbitol acetate (DBAC). , propylene glycol monomethyl ether (PM), propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PMA), dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether (DPDM), methotate, monoglyme (EDM), diglyme (DEDM), triglyme (TRIEDM), tetraglyme (TETREDM), ethylglyme, ethyl diglyme, methyl ethyl diglyme, butyl diglyme, and hexyl carbitol. When such glycol ether substances are contained in the aerosol product, it is easy to provide a relatively dense coating and / or a coating having better adhesion to the substrate.
[0035] From another perspective, the substance contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component may be, for example, a compound in which the OH group at one or both ends of the glycol is alkyl- and / or aryl-substituted. In the aerosol product of the present invention of a water-based paint in which such a compound is contained separately from the propellant component, the coating film obtained by spraying the paint is more likely to be provided as a denser film. In other words, in the aerosol product of the present invention of a water-based paint in which such a "compound in which the OH group at one or both ends of the glycol is alkyl- and / or aryl-substituted" is contained separately from the propellant component, a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated is more likely to be provided.
[0036] From yet another perspective, the substance contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component may be an alkyl glycol ether and / or a derivative thereof. In the present invention relating to an aerosol product of a water-based paint containing such an alkyl glycol ether and a compound of its derivative separately from the propellant component, the coating film obtained by spraying the paint is more likely to be provided as a denser film. In other words, in the present invention relating to an aerosol product of a water-based paint containing such an "alkyl glycol ether and / or a derivative thereof" separately from the propellant component, the coating film having higher adhesion to the surface to be coated is more likely to be provided. By way of example only, the "alkyl glycol ether and / or derivative thereof" may be at least one selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol monomethyl ether, diethylene glycol monomethyl ether, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, diethylene glycol monobutyl ether acetate, propylene glycol monomethyl ether, propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate, dipropylene glycol dimethyl ether, propylene glycol monomethyl ether propionate, ethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, triethylene glycol dimethyl ether, tetraethylene glycol dimethyl ether, ethylene glycol diethyl ether, diethylene glycol diethyl ether, diethylene glycol methyl ethyl ether, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, and diethylene glycol monohexyl ether.
[0037] From another perspective, the substance contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component may be carbitol and / or its derivatives. In the present invention relating to the aerosol product of an aqueous paint in which such a carbitol compound and a compound of its derivative are contained separately from the propellant component, the coating film obtained by spraying the paint is more likely to be provided as a denser film. In other words, in the present invention relating to the aerosol product of an aqueous paint in which such "carbitol and / or its derivative" is contained separately from the propellant component, a coating film with higher adhesion to the coated surface is more likely to be provided. As a mere example, "carbitol and / or its derivative" may be at least one selected from the group consisting of methyl carbitol, methyl carbitol acetate, ethyl carbitol, ethyl carbitol acetate, butyl carbitol, butyl carbitol acetate, hexyl carbitol, and hexyl carbitol acetate.
[0038] In the present invention, the term "derivative" may include a compound that is partially changed or modified by introducing a functional group and / or a substituent into the target compound. In addition, in the present invention, commercially available products can be used for the "glycol ether substance", "compound in which the OH group at one or both ends of the glycol is alkyl- and / or aryl-substituted", "alkyl glycol ether and / or its derivative", "carbitol and / or its derivative", etc.
[0039] In the aerosol product according to the present invention, the glycol ether substance may be contained in a relatively small amount. In this regard, the amount of the glycol ether substance in the container may be less than the amount of the aqueous paint. For example, the amount of the glycol ether substance in the container may be 75% by mass or less, 70% by mass or less, 65% by mass or less, 60% by mass or less, or 55% by mass or less of the amount of the coating film forming components (more simply, the resin components and polymer components of the aqueous paint) excluding water in the amount of the aqueous paint, and the lower limit value may be, for example, 40% by mass, 35% by mass, 30% by mass, 25% by mass, or 20% by mass. Such a small amount of glycol ether substance relative to the amount of resin solids may be more suitable for forming a desired denser coating film, and more suitable for realizing a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated.
[0040] In the present invention, as described above, the coating film obtained on the surface to be coated through the spraying of the paint is likely to be provided as a denser film. Here, in the present specification, the term "surface to be coated" refers in a broad sense to a surface to which the paint is applied, and in a narrow sense to a surface to which the water-based paint (e.g., water-based anti-rust paint) is sprayed from an aerosol container. For example, the "surface to be coated" may be the surface of various buildings, structures, industrial products, and / or daily necessities, which are not necessarily limited to flat surfaces, but may be curved or uneven surfaces. In addition, the substrate constituting such a surface to be coated may be at least one selected from the group consisting of concrete, mortar, cement, gypsum board, plywood, metal, steel, ceramic, plastic, glass, stone, and wood, without any particular limitation.
[0041] The aqueous paint contained in the aerosol product of the present invention may be an aqueous anti-rust paint. In other words, the paint aerosolized in the present invention may be an aqueous anti-rust paint. In such a case, an aqueous emulsion is used as the anti-rust paint, and no organic solvent is used as the paint emulsion. Therefore, the aerosol product of the present invention can be an anti-rust paint product that avoids the phenomenon that the organic solvent of the emulsion paint volatilizes during painting. In other words, it is possible to avoid the phenomenon that the painting work space is filled with harmful organic solvents, and the worker can perform the anti-rust treatment more safely.
[0042] The aerosol product of the present invention may contain corrosion-resistant metal flakes. Preferably, when the aerosol product of the present invention uses an aqueous anti-rust paint as the paint, the aerosol product may contain corrosion-resistant metal flakes. It can also be said that the aqueous anti-rust paint may contain corrosion-resistant metal flakes. Such an aerosol product contains an aqueous emulsion of paint and corrosion-resistant metal flakes, making it more suitable as an anti-rust paint product for use by aerosol spraying.
[0043] The corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be flakes made of a metal material having corrosion resistance. The corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be contained in the water-based paint as one or more flake-like objects. Preferably, a plurality of corrosion-resistant metal flakes are contained in the water-based paint, which can provide the paint with more suitable rust prevention properties.
[0044] In this specification, "corrosion resistance" refers in a broad sense to resistance to corrosive action, and in a narrow sense to resistance to corrosive action in the environment of a water-based paint and / or a coating film obtained using the water-based paint. "Resistance to corrosive action" refers, for example, not only to an embodiment in which the metal itself is resistant to corrosion, but also to an embodiment in which the metal forms a passive film on its surface and is resistant to corrosion. In addition, in this specification, the term "flake" broadly means a shape in which the thickness dimension is smaller than the main surface dimension (e.g., a shape in which the thickness is significantly smaller than the main surface dimension so that the overall shape, such as a flat or plate-like shape, is imparted to the metal material), and in the narrow sense means a shape in which the main surface dimension (e.g., the maximum main surface dimension in a direction perpendicular to the thickness) is 10 to 5,000 times, 10 to 2,500 times, 10 to 1,000 times, 10 to 900 times, 20 to 700 times, 30 to 500 times, 40 to 500 times, 50 to 500 times, 50 to 400 times, 50 to 300 times, or 50 to 200 times the thickness dimension. In a preferred embodiment, the flakes may have a thickness of the order of microns or nanometers, for example, 0.01 to 8 μm, 0.01 to 5 μm, 0.01 to 2 μm, 0.05 to 1 μm, 0.1 to 1 μm, 0.1 to 0.9 μm, 0.1 to 0.7 μm, or 0.1 to 0.5 μm (the thickness here may be the maximum thickness of a single flake). The corrosion-resistant metal flakes may have flexibility due to the "flakes". In other words, the corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be flexible corrosion-resistant metal materials.
[0045] The "thickness dimension" of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be the arithmetic mean value obtained by averaging the maximum values of any four points of any three flakes measured using an observation means such as an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope (SEM), or a transmission electron microscope (TEM) for the paint or the coating film obtained therefrom. Similarly, the "principal surface dimension" of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be the arithmetic mean value obtained by averaging the maximum principal surface dimensions of any three flakes measured using an observation means such as an optical microscope, a scanning electron microscope (SEM), or a transmission electron microscope (TEM) for the paint or the coating film obtained therefrom.
[0046] The corrosion-resistant metal flakes used in the present invention are not particularly limited, but can be obtained by processing a thin metal material such as a metal foil made of the corrosion-resistant metals listed below into fine flakes and / or particles. For example, the thin metal material such as the metal foil can be subjected to mechanical processing such as cutting or crushing to apply a shear force and / or chemical processing as necessary. In addition, commercially available corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be used.
[0047] In the present invention, a plurality of corrosion-resistant metal flakes can be oriented so as to be stacked on each other in the thickness direction inside the coating film. Thus, components such as water, oxygen and / or various ions (hereinafter also referred to as "deterioration components") that cause deterioration of the coated surface (base material) are effectively prevented from reaching the coated surface, and corrosion of the coated surface can be effectively reduced or suppressed. In a preferred embodiment, a labyrinth structure consisting of corrosion-resistant metal flakes can be created in the coating film due to the stacking of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes. The "labyrinth structure" here refers to a so-called "maze-like" intricate shape, for example, a shape in which the supply path of the deterioration components to the coated surface is more reduced in a "maze-like" manner.
[0048] The corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be, for example, flakes of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of stainless steel, aluminum alloy, titanium alloy, and nickel alloy. Such metal flakes exhibit corrosion resistance, and due to the above-mentioned lamination, may more suitably contribute to reducing corrosion of the coated surface. Note that, although there is no particular limitation, the "stainless steel" in this specification may be, for example, an alloy steel containing chromium or chromium and nickel as defined in "JIS G 0203 Steel Terminology."
[0049] The corrosion-resistant metal flakes used in the aqueous coating material for aerosol spraying in the present invention may have the form of a metal foil. By having such a thinner form, the flakes are more likely to be laminated together in the coating film, and a labyrinth structure made of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes is more likely to be formed. More specifically, the corrosion-resistant metal flakes may be at least one selected from the group consisting of stainless steel foil, aluminum alloy foil, titanium alloy foil, and nickel alloy foil.
[0050] The corrosion-resistant metal flakes may have, for example, an elongated overall shape (particularly the shape of the main surface). In other words, the corrosion-resistant metal flakes may have a shape such as a straight or curved elongated linear shape. In this regard, for example, the aspect ratio of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes, for example, the ratio of the maximum dimension in the main surface of the flakes in a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction to the dimension perpendicular thereto (maximum dimension / "dimension in a direction perpendicular to the maximum dimension") may be 2 to 30, 2 to 20, 2 to 15, 2 to 10, 2 to 5, 2 to 4, 2 to 3, 1.5 to 3, 1.5 to 2.5, etc.
[0051] In a preferred embodiment, the corrosion-resistant metal flakes are scale-like stainless steel foils. The scale-like stainless steel foils are easily laminated at least partially in the thickness direction inside the coating film so that a labyrinth structure is formed in the coating film. In other words, the labyrinth structure is particularly easily formed in the coating film with the scale-like stainless steel foil. Therefore, when the corrosion-resistant metal flakes contain scale-like stainless steel foil, the supply of water, oxygen, and / or various ions, which are deterioration factors, to the coating surface is more effectively blocked or reduced, and the corrosion of the coating surface can be more effectively reduced or suppressed. Here, "scale-like" refers to a form having flat scale-like pieces (thin pieces). As long as the coating film contains an image of the "corrosion-resistant metal flakes" contained in the coating film (for example, a single shape of the corrosion-resistant metal flakes) that can be recognized as a "scale shape" by a person skilled in the art, it may be considered to be "scale-like".
[0052] The stainless steel foil (e.g., flake-like stainless steel foil) may be a mixture of long or linear stainless steel foil and other stainless steel foils that are not long or non-linear, etc. In such a case, the long or linear stainless steel foil can easily fill the gaps between the other stainless steel foils that do not have such shapes, which can further promote the reduction of corrosion of the coated surface.
[0053] The type of stainless steel used as the material of the flake-shaped stainless steel foil is not particularly limited. It may be a corrosion-resistant metal flake made of a known stainless steel material. For example, the stainless steel may be at least one selected from the group consisting of ferritic stainless steel, austenitic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, two-phase stainless steel (e.g., austenitic-ferritic stainless steel), and precipitation hardening stainless steel. In particular, if higher corrosion resistance and higher workability are more important, it is preferable to use ferritic stainless steel and / or austenitic stainless steel. An example of the ferritic stainless steel is SUS430. Also, an example of the austenitic stainless steel is SUS304, SUS316, and / or SUS316L. The stainless steel may contain unavoidable impurities, and the specific components of such unavoidable impurities are not particularly limited as long as they have a rust-preventing effect. In terms of providing more suitable corrosion resistance and workability, the content of unavoidable impurities in the flake-shaped stainless steel foil may be 1% by mass or less.
[0054] The 50% particle size (hereinafter also referred to as "Dp50") of the scaly stainless steel foil, which corresponds to the flake size that is 50% in the cumulative distribution, may be 10 μm to 300 μm, for example, 20 μm to 50 μm, or 20 μm to 40 μm, etc. The thickness of the scaly stainless steel foil may be 0.1 μm to 5 μm, for example, 0.1 μm to 1 μm, 0.1 μm to 0.8 μm, 0.1 μm to 0.6 μm, 0.2 μm to 3 μm, or 0.2 μm to 1 μm, etc. In addition, the aspect ratio of the scaly stainless steel foil, for example, the ratio of the maximum dimension on the main surface of the flake in a direction perpendicular to the thickness direction to the dimension perpendicular thereto (maximum dimension / "dimension perpendicular to the maximum dimension"), may be 1 to 20, for example, 2 to 15, 2 to 10, 2 to 5, 2 to 4, 2 to 3, 1.5 to 3, 1.5 to 2.5, etc. When such a scaly stainless steel foil is contained in a paint, the labyrinth structure is more likely to be formed more stably in the resulting coating film. In other words, the scaly stainless steel foil makes it easier to obtain a coating film that exhibits better rust-preventing performance. In addition, when the corrosion-resistant metal flake is a scaly stainless steel foil, it is easier to improve the impact resistance, abrasion resistance, thermal stability, and / or chemical resistance of the rust-preventing coating film.
[0055] Even when a water-based anti-rust paint is used, the aerosol product of the present invention, which contains a glycol ether substance separately from the propellant component, can form a denser coating film than when the glycol ether substance is not contained. Typically, the aerosol product of the present invention is more likely to provide an anti-rust coating film as a relatively clean coating film. For example, the anti-rust coating film obtained by the present invention is more likely to have a surface morphology with fewer irregularities and / or a morphology with less "surface roughness" than when the glycol ether substance is not contained. This is also true when the aerosol product contains corrosion-resistant metal flakes. In other words, even if the aerosol product contains something that seems to affect the desired surface properties of the coating film at first glance, such an effect is more suitably reduced or suppressed in the aerosol product of the present invention, and in this respect, it is more likely to provide a coating film that is meaningful to those skilled in the art.
[0056] In a preferred embodiment, the amount of the water-based paint in the container may be greater than the amount of the propellant component. In other words, the amount of the propellant component charged in the container of the aerosol product may be less than the amount of the water-based paint. This means that the proportion of the water-based paint that contributes to the original film formation of the aerosol product can be increased, and therefore, an aerosol product capable of forming a film for a longer period and / or in greater numbers can be realized. For example, the amount referred to here may be based on mass, and therefore, when comparing the water-based paint and the propellant component, an aerosol product in which the content ratio of the former as the container contents is higher can be realized. For example, the amount of the film-forming component in the container contents of the aerosol product may be greater than the amount of the propellant component.
[0057] The above-mentioned matters are unique to those skilled in the art of aerosol technology. This is because, in the knowledge of those skilled in the art, it was thought that it may be appropriate to relatively increase the amount of the propellant component (e.g., propellant such as DME) relative to the amount of the water-based paint so that the penetration of many paint components into the propellant component is promoted (this was thought to facilitate the formation of a desired coating film through the intended aerosol spray). In this regard, in the present invention, the amount of the propellant component is relatively less than the amount of the water-based paint as the contents of the container of the aerosol product, that is, the amount of the water-based paint is relatively greater than the amount of the propellant component. Despite being contrary to the knowledge of those skilled in the art of aerosol technology, it is possible to perform the intended aerosol spray, and it is easy to provide a denser coating film on the surface to be coated and / or it is easy to provide a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated, which can be said to be unexpected not only by the inventors but also by those skilled in the art.
[0058] In addition, an aerosol product in which the amount of water-based paint in the container is greater than the amount of propellant component can mean that there is a large amount of paint in the aerosol can, and this can increase the area that can be painted per can (the area of the surface to which the paint film is applied).
[0059] A gas phase may be formed in the aerosol filling in the container. That is, a gas phase may be provided in the container of the aerosol product of the present invention. For example, the aerosol filling in the container may be provided with a gas phase so that an interface across the container region is formed as described below. In a preferred embodiment, the gas phase in the container is composed of at least a part of the propellant component that is not liquefied. That is, the propellant component does not necessarily exist in a liquefied state in the aerosol container. In such a case, as described in detail below, the water-based paint may be easily sprayed out of the container at least due to the gas pressure of the gas phase in the container when the aerosol product is used. In this embodiment, less than half of such propellant components (e.g., less than half by mass) may not be liquefied in the aerosol container, but in a preferred embodiment, more than half, more than 3 / 4, or substantially all of the propellant components may not be liquefied in the aerosol container and may exist as a gas phase.
[0060] For example, at least a portion of the dimethyl ether may not be liquefied in the aerosol container. At least a portion of the dimethyl ether used as a propellant component may not be liquefied but may be in a gaseous state in the aerosol container. In a preferred embodiment, more than half, more than three-quarters, or substantially all of the dimethyl ether used as a propellant component in an aerosol product may not be liquefied in the aerosol container, based on the mass of the component. Without being bound by any particular theory and without limiting the present invention, in such an embodiment, the paint component may not dissolve in the propellant component in a relatively large amount.
[0061] In a preferred embodiment, the container contents in the container, i.e., the filling in the container (container contents / filling at least consisting of the water-based paint, the propellant component, and the glycol ether material), or simply the aerosol filling, may have a state in which the gas phase and the liquid phase are separated from each other so that an interface is formed across the container interior area. For example, the gas phase and the liquid phase may be separated from each other in the container so that they have an upper and lower phase relationship (or in terms of such a form, a "upper and lower layer" relationship). For example, the container contents may have an upper and lower phase relationship (i.e., in terms of a possible form, a "upper and lower layer" relationship) so as to include a gas phase containing the propellant component (preferably a gas phase substantially consisting of the propellant component). In such an embodiment, when the aerosol product is used, the water-based paint may be easily sprayed out of the container due to at least the gas pressure of the gas phase in the container.
[0062] As described above, in a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the gas phase in the container of the aerosol product may be in a form that forms an interface with another phase (preferably an interface that crosses / transverses the inside of the container). Such a gas phase preferably contributes to a suitable coating use in the aerosol product of the present invention. This is more applicable when the gas phase contains a propellant component. That is, in a preferred embodiment, the gas phase that forms an interface that crosses / transverses the inside of the container with another phase (such as a liquid phase) in the container of the aerosol product is at least composed of a propellant component, so that the spray characteristics when the water-based paint is supplied to the outside of the container can be further improved. The improvement in the spray characteristics can directly or indirectly contribute more favorably to the realization of a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated. For example, in combination with the action and effect of the glycol ether substance, the coating film can be more easily provided as a clean continuous film. In other words, it is more likely that a denser coating film will be provided on the surface to be coated and / or that a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated will be more likely to be provided.
[0063] The aerosol product of the present invention includes an aqueous paint, and the emulsion particles of the aqueous emulsion included in the paint may be core-shell particles. That is, in one embodiment, the aqueous emulsion included as a vehicle may be a core-shell emulsion.
[0064] A core-shell emulsion is an emulsion in which the particles as the dispersoid have a core (inner core of the particle) and a shell layer (outer shell of the particle). In other words, the emulsion particles of the water-based paint are particles having a core-shell structure. In the case where the water-based paint of the aerosol product is an anti-rust paint, the water-based anti-rust paint containing corrosion-resistant metal flakes can be said to contain core-shell particles as the dispersoid particles of the emulsion. In a broad sense, the "core-shell particle" refers to a mode in which the particles constituting the emulsion can be considered to be divided into an inner region including the center and an outer shell region. In a narrow sense, the "core-shell particle" refers to a mode in which the inner region (core) including the particle center and the outer shell region (shell layer) surrounding that region may contain or be accompanied by different components (e.g., polymer components, resin components), functional groups, molecular weights (weight average molecular weight and / or number average molecular weight), glass transition temperature (Tg), and / or materials, etc., for the particles constituting the emulsion. The core-shell particle may have a hydrophilic shell layer. This allows the hydrophilic shell layer to function as a barrier layer against the corrosion-resistant metal flakes and / or against the propellant components used in aerosolization (e.g., hydrocarbon materials such as dimethyl ether). The hydrophilic shell layer may retain moisture to form a water film. When used as an aerosol liquid, the paint may be diluted with water. Here, while a general aqueous emulsion does not substantially contain or is difficult to contain moisture in the emulsion particles themselves even when diluted with water, the core-shell emulsion having this hydrophilic shell layer becomes more likely to retain moisture when diluted, and as a result, the water film barrier layer is more likely to be formed in the emulsion particles. For the core-shell particles, the particle core may be a hydrophobic polymer core. For example, the emulsion particles may be particles in which a hydrophilic polymer that at least partially or entirely surrounds a hydrophobic polymer forms the particle outer shell. The hydrophilic polymer shell layer and the hydrophobic polymer core are not particularly limited, and may be configured to be bonded to each other, for example, by a cross-linked structure. In other words, the polymer of the core portion and the polymer of the shell portion may be bonded to each other via elements (eg, atoms, elements and / or molecules) different from the matrix components. In other words, the core and shell may be bonded to each other by blending a crosslinking agent to form a core-shell emulsion. The glass transition temperature (Tg) of the polymer component (i.e., resin component) contained in the core-shell emulsion may be 0°C to 60°C, for example, 10°C to 50°C, 15°C to 40°C, or 15°C to 35°C. In the core-shell particle, the glass transition temperature (Tg) may be different between the shell layer and the core, and the shell layer may have a higher Tg than the core. For example, the Tg of the hydrophilic shell layer may be 1.2 to 5 times, 1.2 to 3 times, or 1.2 to 2 times, etc., the Tg of the core part.
[0065] In the aqueous paint contained in the aerosol product of the present invention, the content of water may be 5% by mass to 60% by mass, 10% by mass to 60% by mass, or 20% by mass to 60% by mass, based on the total mass of the paint (based on the aqueous paint). The type of water, i.e., the water in the aqueous emulsion, is not particularly limited and may be, for example, tap water, purified water, deionized water, distilled water, and / or ion-exchanged water.
[0066] In a preferred embodiment, the emulsion particles of the aqueous emulsion contained in the paint are "non-core-shell type particles" that are not core-shell particles. In other words, the aqueous paint, i.e., the aqueous paint contained in the aerosol product of the present invention, may be composed of film-forming particles (non-core-shell particles containing a film-forming component) that do not have a core and a shell layer around it. It can also be said that the emulsion particles of the aqueous emulsion contained in the paint are composed of the same material as a whole. For example, the emulsion particles of the aqueous paint may be composed of the same resin or polymer. Such a resin or polymer may be a resin or polymer that is commonly used as a so-called paint, preferably an aqueous paint. In this specification, the "non-core-shell type particles" can essentially mean that the emulsion particles of the aqueous emulsion are polymer particles or resin particles that are not core-shell particles as described above. Thus, while this is merely an example, for at least some of the emulsion particles, more than half of the particles, or substantially all of the particles, the materials, etc., between the inside of the particle (the particle center part or the particle region corresponding to the core region) and its surrounding part (the outer surface part or the particle region corresponding to the outer shell region / shell layer) are not different (for example, the constituent polymers / resins are not different from each other), and / or the glass transition points, etc., between them are not substantially different from each other, and they are substantially homogeneous and the same (for example, this is merely an example, but the relative standard deviation RSD of the glass transition points of any five points each in the particle center part, particle surface part, and outer shell part, for a total of 10 points, may be 15% or less).
[0067] In the present invention, in which the particles of the aqueous paint emulsion contained in the aerosol product are composed of "non-core-shell type particles", the coating film formed by spraying the paint is likely to be a denser film. In other words, the "non-core-shell type particles" provided as the particles of the aqueous paint emulsion contained in the aerosol product tend to contribute more favorably to the realization of a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated. Therefore, when comparing "an aerosol product containing a relatively large amount of "non-core-shell type particles" as the particles of the aqueous paint emulsion" with "an aerosol product containing a relatively large amount of "core-shell type particles" as the particles of the aqueous paint emulsion", the former containing more non-core-shell type particles can form a denser coating film on the surface to be coated and / or can form a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated. In other words, the present invention, in which the particles of the emulsion of the water-based paint contained in the aerosol product are composed of "non-core-shell type particles", can be said to be able to easily provide a denser coating film on the surface to be coated, and / or to easily provide a coating film with higher adhesion to the surface to be coated, in combination with the glycol ether substance contained in the aerosol product. Without being bound by any particular theory, the present invention, which includes such "non-core-shell type particles", can be more likely to have better sprayability from the container (for example, it is easier to obtain a more uniform spray form and / or a spray form with less unevenness), and the resulting coating film can be more likely to be provided as a coating film with relatively fewer voids (in short, a coating film with less sponge-like film form). Similarly, without being bound by any particular theory and without limiting the present invention, it can be inferred that in the case of "non-core-shell type particles", the glycol ether substance can contribute to the formation of a more stable water film in the emulsion particles, which can contribute to the above-mentioned significant effects, although to different degrees.
[0068] In a preferred embodiment, the aerosol product of the present invention is likely to exhibit a relatively high stability of the contents of the container. In other words, in an aerosol product of an aqueous paint in which a glycol ether substance is contained separately from the propellant component, the paint in the container is likely to exhibit a stable state for a longer period of time. For example, even if a phenomenon such as settling occurs in the paint, solidification (e.g., solidification into larger lumps, etc.) and / or agglomeration is likely to be reduced, and an aerosol product with higher convenience is likely to be produced. In the above-mentioned "when the gas phase that forms an interface that crosses / crosses the container with other phases (such as a liquid phase) in the aerosol product container is composed of the propellant component," it can be said that the paint provided as the liquid phase can exist in a more stable state (i.e., it can be said that longer stability can be produced, and for example, in such a liquid phase, even if a phenomenon such as settling of the paint components occurs, the above-mentioned inconvenient solidification and / or inconvenient agglomeration is likely to be reduced).
[0069] In the aerosol product according to the present invention, inorganic and / or organic pigments may be added as necessary. The type of such pigments is not particularly limited. For example, inorganic and / or organic pigments such as titanium oxide, zinc oxide, and / or carbon black may be added.
[0070] Furthermore, the aqueous paint for aerosol spray according to the present invention may contain additives or similar additives that can be generally used in aqueous paints. For example, at least one selected from the group consisting of emulsifiers, thickeners, dispersants, etc. may be appropriately blended separately from the glycol ether substance, etc.
[0071] In addition, when the ratio of the aerosol-filled paint concentrate (containing the water-based paint and the glycol ether substance) to the propellant component contained in the aerosol product of the present invention is 6:4 to 8:2, the gelation of the aerosol can be more suitably avoided, and the storage stability of the aerosol can be improved, which makes it possible to more suitably improve the adhesion of the coating film finally obtained.
[0072] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, they are merely typical examples within the scope of application of the present invention. Therefore, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and it will be easily understood by those skilled in the art that various aspects are conceivable and various modifications can be made.
[0073] For example, in the above description, a glycol ether substance is mentioned as a substance contained in the aerosol product separately from the propellant component. For example, the substance contained in the aerosol product according to the present invention separately from the propellant component may be a glycol-based substance and / or an ether-based substance. That is, in a preferred embodiment, the present invention provides the following: An aerosol product in which a water-based paint and a propellant component are filled in a container, and a glycol substance is further contained in the container as a substance different from the propellant component (i.e., an aerosol additive). The glycol substance is not particularly limited, but may be at least one selected from the group consisting of methyl glycol, methyl diglycol, ethyl glycol, ethyl diglycol, butyl glycol, and butyl diglycol. An aerosol product in which a water-based paint and a propellant component are filled in a container, and an ether substance (for example, but not limited to, a straight-chain ether different from the propellant component) is further contained in the container as a substance different from the propellant component (i.e., an aerosol additive substance). In addition, the substance contained separately from the propellant component in the aerosol product of the present invention may belong to the category of glycol substances and / or ether substances, but may also belong to the category of glycol ether substances (e.g., alkyl glycol ethers, etc.).
[0074] The aerosol product of the present invention corresponds to a paint spray product (particularly a spray product containing a propellant, for example an aerosol propellant such as a hydrocarbon material), and the present invention can also be generally described as follows. A paint spray product (particularly a paint spray product containing a propellant, for example an aerosol propellant such as a hydrocarbon material), in which a water-based paint and a propellant component are filled in a container, and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of glycol-based substances, ether-based substances, and glycol ether substances is contained in the container separately from the propellant component.
[0075] Furthermore, the present invention can be said to relate to a coating material for an aerosol (for example, a coating composition to be placed in a container, particularly an aerosol container), and can also be described as follows. An aerosol coating material (e.g., a coating composition to be placed in a container, particularly an aerosol container), which contains at least an aqueous paint and at least one substance selected from the group consisting of glycol-based substances, ether-based substances, and glycol ether substances in addition to a propellant component (aerosol propellant).
[0076] When using the water-based paint as an aerosol product, water for dilution may be added, but the present invention does not necessarily require water for dilution. When the water-based paint already has the desired water content or the desired viscosity, etc., such "water for dilution" does not need to be used. In other words, when making into an aerosol, the water-based paint may be combined with the propellant component without being diluted with water.
[0077] The terms polymer and resin and expressions containing them as used herein are understood by those skilled in the art of aerosol coatings and, as used herein appropriately, may be used interchangeably.
[0078] Finally, in the present invention, the coating film finally obtained through spray formation tends to be more "dense" and / or "more uniform" as the desired film, and tends to have higher adhesion to the substrate, but for example, this is more likely to be evident when the distance (vertical distance) from the aerosol product (e.g., its nozzle) to the substrate such as the base material is on the order of centimeters (e.g., 10 cm or more but less than 100 cm, 10 cm or more but less than 90 cm, 10 cm or more but less than 80 cm, etc.). In addition, such a coating film is finally obtained by drying the water-based paint sprayed onto the substrate, and the drying may be performed at room temperature and / or under atmospheric pressure or natural environment. The term "room temperature" as used herein refers to the temperature of an environment where the temperature is not artificially changed by those skilled in the art, such as heating or cooling (e.g., the ambient temperature in summer and winter), and typically means a temperature of 1 to 39°C, 15 to 35°C, for example, 20 to 30°C, or 23 to 27°C. In addition, "under atmospheric pressure environment / natural environment" as used herein refers to an environment that is not an artificial operating environment such as outdoors or indoors, and refers to an environment that is not under such artificially changed conditions of pressure, air pressure, humidity, etc. Also, although there is no particular restriction, the thickness of the obtained coating film may be within the range of 0.1 μm to 5000 μm, 1 μm to 3000 μm, 1 μm to 2000 μm, or 1 μm to 1000 μm.

[0080] Examples will be described below. In Examples 1 to 10 and Comparative Example 1 shown below, those having at least one measurement result of evaluation "1" are treated as comparative examples.
[0081] Example 1 An aerosol-filled paint concentrate was prepared with the blending ratio (mass%) shown in Table 1. Specifically, Acrylit AKW-107 (manufactured by Taisei Fine Chemical Co., Ltd. / core-shell type) was used as the resin material. Titanium oxide (manufactured by Ishihara Sangyo Kaisha, Ltd. / Tipaque CR-90-2), stainless steel foil (manufactured by Toyo Aluminum Co., Ltd. / stainless paste RFA-4500), and zinc oxide (manufactured by Hakusui Tech Co., Ltd. / Zincox Super F-1) were used as the pigments. The additives used were a dispersant (Kusumoto Chemical Industries, Ltd. / Disparlon AQ-D400), a defoamer (Kusumoto Chemical Industries, Ltd. / Disparlon AQ-7552N), and a thickener (ADEKA Corporation / ADEKA NOL UH-420 + Kusumoto Chemical Industries, Ltd. / Disparlon AQ-001). As a diluent, butyl carbitol (BDG, manufactured by Nippon Nyukazai Co., Ltd.), which is a glycol ether, was used. In addition to the aerosol-filled paint concentrate, a component containing a hydrocarbon was used as a propellant component. Specifically, dimethyl ether (product number: DME) having the blending ratio shown in Table 1 was used.
[0082] These material elements were shaken and stirred about 30 times in a container containing a given glass bead to obtain an aerosol, i.e., an aerosol paint.
[0083] In addition, a steel plate (JISG3141, cold-rolled steel plate) measuring 70 mm x 150 mm x 0.8 mm was polished with abrasive paper and degreased with ethyl acetate to be used as a test piece. Two test pieces were prepared, and the above aerosol paint was spray-painted onto these test pieces using an aerosol product so that the dry coating film was 50 to 80 μm thick. After spray painting, the panels were dried at 23°C for 7 days to form a coating film. The back side and edges of the panels for evaluating water resistance and weather resistance were masked.
[0084] Examples 2, 3, 7, and 8 Using the blending ratios shown in Table 1, a coating film was formed using an aerosol product in the same manner as in Example 1.
[0085] Examples 4 to 6, 9, and 10 A coating film was formed using an aerosol product in the same procedure as in Example 1, using the blending ratios shown in Tables 1 and 2. In Examples 4 to 6, Polysol AP-6750 (manufactured by Resonac, Inc. / non-core-shell type) was used as the resin material.
[0086] Comparative Example 1 This example differs from Example 1 in that no diluent was used. In other respects, a coating film was formed using an aerosol product in the same manner as in Example 1, using the blending ratios shown in Table 2.
[0087] Thereafter, in Examples 1 to 10 and Comparative Example 1, the aerosol workability, film-forming properties (appearance of the coating film), adhesion, water resistance, weather resistance, and storage stability (storage stability) of the aerosol paint in the aerosol product (i.e., the aerosol paint spray product) were evaluated according to the following evaluation methods and evaluation criteria.
[0088] The specific evaluation methods and criteria are as follows: <Aerosol workability> The state of the mist and the state of the coated surface when the aerosol paint was sprayed using an aerosol product, that is, an aerosol paint spray product, were evaluated according to the following criteria. 5 The mist is fine and evenly applied. 4 The mist is a little coarse, but it is applied evenly and there is no problem in practical use. 3. Atomization is poor, and the applied surface becomes orange peel-like. 2. Poor atomization, coating surface is formed but uneven 1. Poor atomization results in uneven coating or no surface formation. <Film forming ability (appearance of coating film)> The appearance was judged according to the following criteria in accordance with "JISK-5600 3-4 Appearance of Coating Film". 5. No uneven coloring, smooth and uniform coating surface 4. A uniform coating is formed, but the color is uneven and the surface is not smooth. 3. No color unevenness, but the coating has an uneven surface and cannot be used for evaluation testing. 2. The coating is uneven and not smooth. 1. The coating surface is uneven and the color is not uniform. The accelerated weather resistance tester used was a 7.5kW Xenon NX75 (manufactured by Suga Test Instruments Co., Ltd.). 250 hours is calculated as one year, and the evaluation is performed after 1000 hours have elapsed for four years. 5. No defects on the painted surface such as swelling, peeling, loss of gloss, uneven color, etc. 4 Slight gloss loss (gloss retention rate 70% or more), 3. Loss of gloss and uneven color have occurred, but there are no paint film defects such as blisters or peeling. 2. Loss of gloss and uneven coloring occurs, but there are no defects such as blisters or cracks in the coating. 1. Defects in the coating, such as swelling or peeling, have occurred, causing rust on the base steel sheet. <Storage stability / storage of aerosol products (i.e. aerosol paint spray products)> The aerosol paint was sealed in an aerosol product (aerosol paint spray product), stored at 45°C, and cooled to room temperature after three months, after which the aerosol workability was evaluated. The evaluation method was the same as for the initial stage, and the following evaluation criteria were used. *After storing at 45℃ for 3 months, check the condition of the paint and then evaluate the sprayability. If there are any defects such as gelation, it is considered unusable and the spray test is not performed. 5. The mist is fine and evenly applied.

[0091] The measurement results in Tables 1 and 2 show that, compared to Comparative Example 1, the storage stability of the aerosol is improved in Examples 1 to 10, which contain glycol ethers such as butyl carbitol as a diluent.
[0092] In each example, it was found that the improvement in storage stability could be achieved under conditions where the amount of the glycol ether compound constituting the aerosol paint was less than that of the water-based paint (excluding the glycol ether compound). It was also found that the improvement in storage stability could be achieved under conditions where the amount of the water-based paint, i.e., the amount of the aerosol paint, was greater than the amount of the propellant component (dimethyl ether).
[0093] In addition, even when using the relatively versatile non-core-shell type Polysol AP-6750 (resin) as the resin material, it was found that the inclusion of glycol ethers such as butyl carbitol improved the storage stability of the aerosol. This led to the understanding that it was possible to improve the production efficiency of the aerosol.
[0094] It was also found that the DME resistance (propellant component resistance) of the aqueous emulsion of the water-based paint can be ensured through the interaction between the water and glycol ether compounds such as butyl carbitol, even when the amount of water is reduced by about 30% compared to Comparative Example 1. Without being bound by a particular theory, it is believed that glycol ether compounds such as butyl carbitol have hydrophilicity and a slight degree of lipophilicity, and thus protect the water film of the aqueous emulsion as a surfactant, and in particular the cushioning effect of the water film and butyl carbitol makes it possible to improve the propellant component resistance (specifically DME resistance).
[0095] On the other hand, it was found from Comparative Example 1 that even if the amount of water was increased without including butyl carbitol, gelation occurred after a certain period of time (about 3 months when stored at 45°C), and the shelf life of the aerosol could not be adequately ensured. However, storage at 45°C for 3 months allowed storage at 35°C or below for 1 year.
[0096] Furthermore, it was found that gelation can be more effectively avoided and the shelf life of the aerosol can be improved when the ratio of the aerosol paint to the propellant component contained in the aerosol product is about 7:3. It was also found that the shelf life of the aerosol can be improved without gelation if the mixing ratio of the aqueous emulsion (solid content), water, and glycol ether such as butyl carbitol is 50:75-85:10-20. [Industrial Applicability]
[0097] The present invention can be suitably used as an aerosol paint for applications where painting is required. When the aqueous paint contained in the aerosol product is, for example, an anti-rust paint, it can be used for substrates where anti-rust is required. In particular, since an aqueous anti-rust paint that does not contain harmful organic solvents can be loaded into the aerosol product, it can be suitably used in applications such as repairing steel materials in closed spaces, taking into consideration the safety of workers. Examples of steel materials that are the subject of such anti-rust treatment include, but are not limited to, steel structures such as highways, bridges located on the sea or at high altitudes, steel towers, ships, railway vehicles, containers, vehicle loading platforms, etc. Furthermore, the aerosol product according to the present invention can be suitably used in on-site painting where the generation of solvent odor is undesirable, such as residential areas and living spaces.
