[0059] The present application provides a wheeled transport apparatus, the wheeled transport apparatus having a standing frame and a plurality of wheel assemblies provided at the bottom of the standing frame. The wheel assemblies may be controllably locked and unlocked in a horizontal orientation with respect to the standing frame, and the unlocked wheel assemblies may rotate relative to the standing frame to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axis. Optionally, some wheel assemblies may be locked while other wheel assemblies are unlocked, or, optional, all wheel assemblies may be unlocked simultaneously. Thus, the wheeled transport apparatus may be more adaptable in use and may have better maneuverability. The wheeled transport apparatus according to the embodiments described herein includes a child stroller apparatus. However, it is to be appreciated that wheeled transport apparatuses that may incorporate the structures and functions described herein may include, without limitation, child stroller apparatuses, trolleys, shopping carts, and the like. It is therefore understood that the structures and functions described herein may be generally applicable to any type of product having wheels, and that the wheeled transport device, as described and claimed herein, is not limited to the examples illustrated below.

[0060] 1 to 5 are various schematic diagrams showing a wheeled transport device 10 according to one embodiment, which is, for example, a child stroller device. Referring to Fig. 1 to Fig. 5, the wheeled transport device 10 may have a frame structure 11 consisting of a standing frame 12 and a handle frame 14 connected to each other, and a plurality of wheel assemblies 16 and 18 provided at the bottom of the standing frame 12.

[0061] According to an example configuration, the standing frame 12 may have two leg frames 20 and 22, two side link bars 24, and two side support bars 26. The leg frame 20 may be illustratively a rear leg frame, and the leg frame 22 may be illustratively a front leg frame. Each of the leg frames 20 and 22 may have two side segments symmetrically arranged on the right and left sides of the standing frame 12, such as two side segments 20A for the leg frame 20 and two side segments 22A for the leg frame 22, and a lateral segment fixedly connected to the two side segments, such as a lateral segment 20B fixedly connected to the two side segments 20A for the leg frame 20 and a lateral segment 22B fixedly connected to the two side segments 22A for the leg frame 22. On each of the right and left sides, side segment 20A of leg frame 20 and side segment 22A of leg frame 22 are each separately pivotally connected to a side link bar 24, and a side support bar 26 may extend between side segments 20A and 22A and be pivotally connected to side segment 22A, such that leg frames 20 and 22, side link bar 24 and side support bar 26 may rotate relative to one another during folding and unfolding of the wheeled transport device 10.

[0062] The handle frame 14 may be pivotally connected to the standing frame 12 via two bar links 28, each of which may have a bar 28A having two ends pivotally connected to the standing frame 12 and the handle frame 14, respectively. More specifically, the handle frame 14 may have two side portions 14A symmetrically arranged on the right and left sides, and a grip portion 14B connected to the two side portions 14A. On each of the right and left sides, the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 may be pivotally connected to the side link bar 24, may be pivotally connected to the side support bar 26, and may be pivotally connected to the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20 via one bar 28A, and the bar 28A may have two ends pivotally connected to the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 and the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, respectively.

[0063] 1 to 5, each of the wheel assemblies 16 and 18 may have a wheel mount that is pivotally connected to the standing frame 12 and supports at least one wheel rotatably relative to the wheel mount about a wheel axis extending substantially horizontally, whereby the wheel mount is rotatable relative to the standing frame 12 to change the orientation of the wheel axis. For example, the two wheel assemblies 16 may be provided at the lower end of the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, and the two wheel assemblies 18 may be provided at the lower end of the two side segments 22A of the leg frame 22, respectively. Each of the wheel assemblies 16 may have a wheel mount 30 that is pivotally connected to the leg frame 20 and supports at least one wheel 32 rotatably relative to the wheel mount 30 about a wheel axis 32A extending substantially horizontally, whereby the wheel mount 30 is rotatable to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axis 32A. Similarly, each wheel assembly 18 may have a wheel mount 34 pivotally connected to the leg frame 22 and supporting at least one wheel 36 rotatably relative to the wheel mount 34 about a generally horizontally extending wheel axle 36A such that the wheel mount 34 is rotatable to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axle 36A. The wheel mount 30 is spaced from the wheel mount 34 along a longitudinal axis extending from the rear to the front of the wheeled transport apparatus.

[0064] 3 and 5, the two wheel assemblies 16 may have the same configuration. In each of the wheel assemblies 16, the wheel mount 30 may be pivotally connected to the leg frame 20 around the pivot shaft 31, so that the wheel mount 30 and the wheel 32 supported by the wheel mount can rotate together around the pivot shaft 31. According to an example configuration, the wheel mount 30 may have a housing 33 pivotally connected to the leg frame 20 via the pivot shaft 31. A wheel axle 35 defining the wheel axis 32A may be disposed through the housing 33 for pivotally connecting to the wheel mount 30 of the wheel 32. According to an example configuration, the wheel axle 35 may be disposed through a slide part 37 incorporated inside the housing 33 for vertical sliding movement, and a spring 38 may be separately connected to the slide part 37 and the housing 33. The spring 38 may cushion vertical displacement of the wheel 32 relative to the wheel mount 30 to dissipate unwanted impact energy during use.

[0065] 3 and 5, a lock assembly 39 is provided for rotationally locking / unlocking the wheel mount 30 relative to the standing frame 12. The lock assembly 39 may include a wheel mount latch 40 movably connected to the standing frame 12 and a lock spring 42 connected to the wheel mount latch 40. According to an example configuration, the wheel mount latch 40 may be slidably connected to the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20. More specifically, the side segment 20A may have a cavity 44, and the wheel mount latch 40 may have an elongated shape slidably received within the cavity 44, such that the wheel mount latch 40 may slidably protrude outward or retract inward of the cavity 44. The cavity 44 may have an opening 44A that is narrower in size than the interior of the cavity 44, and the wheel mount latch 40 may have an inner portion that is larger than the outer portion of the wheel mount latch that moves through the opening 44A of the cavity 44, thereby preventing the wheel mount latch 40 from slipping out of the cavity 44.

[0066] The locking spring 42 may be disposed inside the cavity 44 and may have two ends respectively connected to the side segment 20A and the wheel mount latch 40. The locking spring 42 may bias the wheel mount latch 40 to protrude outside the cavity 44 for engaging with the wheel mount 30.

[0067] In the locking assembly 39, the wheel mount latch 40 may slide downward to engage with an opening 46 provided in the housing 33 of the wheel mount 30, thereby locking the wheel mount 30 from rotating relative to the standing frame 12, and may slide upward to disengage from the opening 46 of the wheel mount 30, unlocking the wheel mount 30, thereby allowing it to rotate relative to the standing frame 12. A locking spring 42 may apply a biasing force to engage the wheel mount latch 40 with the wheel mount 30. The same locking assembly 39 described above may be provided for each of the two wheel assemblies 16.

[0068] 1 to 5, the wheeled transport device 10 may further include an actuation assembly 48 having one or more linkage components 50 connected to the wheel mount latch 40, and a release mechanism 52 having an operating component 54 provided on the frame structure 11 at a location spaced apart from the wheel mount latch 40. In one example configuration, the actuation assembly 48 may include a link actuator 56 movably connected to the frame structure 11, and two linkage components 50 for respectively connecting each of the wheel mount latches 40 of the two wheel assemblies 16 to the link actuator 56.

[0069] The link actuator 56 may be movably connected to any suitable portion of the frame structure 11, such as, for example, the standing frame 12, the handle frame 14, or the bar link 28 connecting the handle frame 14 to the standing frame 12. According to one example configuration, the link actuator 56 may be movably connected to the bar link 28. For example, the link actuator 56 may be slidably connected to the bar 28A of the bar link 28 and may slide relative to the bar 28A as a unitary part.

[0070] The two link components 50 may have cable portions and may be routed along at least a portion of the frame structure 11. For example, the two link components 50 may have two cable portions provided as two separate cables, each having one end fixed to the corresponding wheel mount latch 40 and the other end fixed to the link actuator 56. According to another example configuration, the two link components 50 may have two cable portions provided as a single cable, each having two ends fixed to the two wheel mount latches 40 respectively, and a middle portion connected to the link actuator 56. In this manner, the link actuator 56 is movable in a first direction to pull each of the link components 50 and urge the corresponding wheel mount latch 40 to disengage from the wheel mount 30, and to move in a second direction opposite to the first direction to relax each of the link components 50, so that the corresponding wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30 under the urging force of the locking spring 42.

[0071] 1, 4 and 5, the release mechanism 52 is operable to cause the actuation assembly 48 to pull the wheel mount latch 40, thereby disengaging the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30. According to one example configuration, the release mechanism 52 can have an operating part 54 disposed on the handle frame 14 and coupled to the actuation assembly 48. The operating part 54 can be disposed on one side portion 14A as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, or on a gripping portion 14B (not shown) of the handle frame 14. The operating part 54 is movably connected to the handle frame 14 and can move as one part relative to the handle frame 14. For example, the operating part 54 can be slidably connected to the handle frame 14 and can slide along a longitudinal axis of the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14. According to one example configuration, the release mechanism 52 may include a link component 58 that connects the operating component 54 to the actuation assembly 48. For example, the link component 58 may include a cable that connects the operating component 54 to a link actuator 56 of the actuation assembly 48, the cable illustratively having two ends that are fixed to the operating component 54 and the link actuator 56, respectively. According to this configuration, the caretaker may slide the operating component 54 to move the link actuator 56, which in turn pulls the wheel mount latches 40, respectively, which disengage the wheel mount latches 40 from the wheel mounts 30, thereby allowing the wheel mounts 30 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12.

[0072] 6 and 7, in conjunction with FIGS. 1 to 5, are two partial cross-sectional views showing alternative configurations of the release mechanism 52. Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the link component 58 of the release mechanism 52 may be connected to a link actuator 60 slidably connected to the handle frame 14, and the link component 58 may have a cable connected to the link actuator 56 of the actuation assembly 48, similar to that described above. The link actuator 60 may be disposed adjacent to the operating component 54 and may slide along the longitudinal axis of the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14. The operating component 54 may be slidably or pivotally connected to the handle frame 14 and may be in sliding contact with the link actuator 60 during operation. For example, the link actuator 60 may have an inclined surface 62, and the operating component 54 may have a protrusion 64 in sliding contact with the inclined surface 62. As shown in FIG. 7 , the caretaker can push the operating part 54 and slide the link actuator 60 upwards due to the sliding contact between the inclined surface 62 and the protrusion 64, thereby moving the link actuator 60, which in turn pulls each of the wheel mount latches 40 so that the wheel mount latches 40 disengage from the wheel mounts 30, thereby allowing the unlocked wheel mounts 30 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12.

[0073] 8 and 9, in conjunction with FIGS. 1 to 5, are two partial cross-sectional views showing another alternative configuration of the release mechanism 52. Referring to FIGS. 8 and 9, the operating part 54 of the release mechanism 52 may have a barrel 66 pivotally connected to the handle frame 14. According to one example configuration, the operating part 54 with the barrel 66 may be provided as a single piece, so that the operating part 54 and the barrel 66 may rotate together relative to the handle frame 14. As described above, the operating part 54 may be connected to the actuation assembly 48 via a link part 58. The link part 58 may have a cable connecting the operating part 54 to the link actuator 56 of the actuation assembly 48, and the cable may have two ends, illustratively fixed to the barrel 66 of the operating part 54 and the link actuator 56, respectively. As shown in FIG. 9 , the caretaker can operate the operating component 54, causing the barrel 66 to rotate relative to the handle frame 14 and at least partially wind the link component 58, moving the link actuator 56, which in turn pulls each of the wheel mount latches 40, causing the wheel mount latches 40 to disengage from the wheel mounts 30, thereby allowing the wheel mounts 30 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12.

[0074] An exemplary operation of the wheeled transport apparatus 10 is described below with reference to Figures 1 to 9. When the wheeled transport apparatus 10 requires free rotation of the wheel mounts 30 relative to the standing frame 12, the caretaker can operate the operating part 54, thereby disengaging each of the wheel mount latches 40 from the corresponding wheel mount 30, which allows the wheel mount 30 to be unlocked and to rotate freely relative to the standing frame 12 to correct the horizontal orientation of the wheel axle 32A. The wheel mount 30 can remain unlocked unless the operating part 54 is released. By allowing all of the wheel mounts 30 and 34 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12, the wheeled transport apparatus 10 can be maneuvered with increased flexibility.

[0075] When the normal use mode is required, each wheel mount 30 can be rotated to a normal position, in which the wheel axis 32A is oriented laterally and is approximately perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the wheeled transport device 10 extending from the rear to the front of the wheeled transport device. Then, the operating part 54 can be released, and the wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30 under the biasing force of the locking spring 42. This allows the wheel mount 30 to be locked to the standing frame 12. As each wheel mount latch 40 moves to the locked state, the operating part 54 can be moved to the initial position by the drive transmission via the link parts 50 and 58.

[0076] 10 to 16 are various schematic diagrams of a wheeled transport device 10 according to one embodiment, the wheeled transport device having an actuation assembly 68 and a release mechanism 70 that may be respectively adapted to the actuation assembly 48 and the release mechanism 52 described above. Referring to FIGS. 10 to 15, the actuation assembly 68 may have two link components 50 respectively connected to the two wheel mount latches 40 as described above, and two link actuators 72 movably connected to the frame structure 11. More specifically, the two link actuators 72 are movably connected to the lateral segments 20B of the leg frame 20, and each of the link components 50 may couple one wheel mount latch 40 to one link actuator 72. The two link components 50 may have cable portions that may be routed separately along the two side segments 20A and through the lateral segments 20B of the leg frame 20. For example, the two link components 50 may have two cable portions provided as two separate cables, each having one end fixed to the wheel mount latch 40 (best shown in FIG. 15) and another end connected to the link actuator 72 (best shown in FIG. 11).

[0077] 10 and 11, the two link actuators 72 may be slidably connected to the lateral segment 20B of the leg frame 20. For example, the lateral segment 20B of the leg frame 20 may be fixedly connected to a bracket 74, and the two link actuators 72 may be arranged to slide laterally inside the bracket 74 relative to the lateral segment 20B. According to an example configuration, the bracket 74 may have a base portion 74A and two mounting portions 74B, the base portion 74A is fixedly connected to the lateral segment 20B, and the two mounting portions 74B protrude from the base portion 74A parallel to each other with a gap 76 defined between the two mounting portions 74B. The bracket 74 having the base portion 74A and the mounting portion 74B may be integrally formed as a single part. The two mounting portions 74B may have hollow interiors 74C closed by covers 78, and the two link actuators 72 may be received separately in the hollow interiors 74C of the two mounting portions 74B and extend into the gap 76 through openings 74D provided in the mounting portions 74B.

[0078] The two link actuators 72 may have the same configuration and may be separately disposed on the two mounting portions 74B in a symmetrical manner. According to one example configuration, each of the link actuators 72 may be formed to have a pillar portion 72A, a fixed portion 72B, and a pin 72C. The pillar portion 72A may be slidably supported on the mounting portion 74B, the fixed portion 72B may be fixedly connected to an end of the link component 50 that may be routed through a hollow interior 74C of the mounting portion 74B through a hole provided in the cover 78, and the pin 72C may extend into the mounting portion 74B through an opening 74D. In this manner, the link actuator 72 is movable in a first direction toward the gap 76 to pull the link component 50 and disengage the corresponding wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30, and is movable in a second direction opposite the first direction to relax the link component 50 so that the corresponding wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30 under the biasing force of the lock spring 42.

[0079] 10 to 14, the release mechanism 70 may have an operating part 80 disposed on the leg frame 20. For example, the operating part 80 may be pivotally connected to the lateral segment 20B of the leg frame 20. According to an example configuration, the operating part 80 may be at least partially received in the gap 76 and pivotally connected to the bracket 74 about a shaft (not shown) that is disposed through a hole 80A in the operating part 80 and two holes 74E in the two connecting parts 74B of the bracket 74. More specifically, the operating part 80 may have a connecting part 80B and an actuating part 80C, where the connecting part 80B is disposed in the gap 76 adjacent to the pins 72C of the two link actuators 72, and the actuating part 80C protrudes outside the gap 76. A hole 80A may be provided in the connecting portion 80B, and two opposing sides of the connecting portion 80B may each have an angled surface A offset from the hole 80A, which is in sliding contact with one of the link actuators 72. A spring 82 may be provided to bias the link actuator 72 toward the gap 76, such that the link actuator 72 may remain in sliding contact with the angled surface A of the operating component 80. The spring 82 may be disposed in the mounting portion 74B, and illustratively may have two opposing ends at which the link actuator 72 and the cover 78 are disposed.

[0080] Due to the sliding contact between the inclined surface A and the link actuator 72, the link actuator 72 can slide towards or away from the gap 76, tensioning or relaxing the link component 50 depending on the rotation direction of the operating part 80. Thus, the operating part 80 rotates in one direction to engage and lock the wheel mount latch 40 to the wheel mount 30 under the biasing force of the lock spring 42, and rotates in the opposite direction to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30. FIG. 15 shows the wheel mount 30 in a locked state, and FIG. 16 shows the wheel mount 30 in an unlocked state. Since the operating part 80 is similarly connected to each of the two link actuators 72, the operating part 80 can drive the unlocking and locking of the two wheel mount latches 40 of the leg frame 20 in a simultaneous manner.

[0081] 17 to 19 are various views of an actuation assembly 68' and a release mechanism 70' according to a modified configuration, which may be respectively adapted to the actuation assembly and the release mechanism described above. Referring to FIG. 17 to FIG. 19, the actuation assembly 68' may have two link parts 50, which are respectively connected to the two wheel mount latches 40 as described above, but omitting the two link actuators 72. The release mechanism 70' may have an operating part 86, which is disposed on one of the two side segments 20A of the leg frame 20 and connected to the link part 50. More specifically, the operating part 86 may have a barrel 88 pivotally connected to the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, and an operating portion 90 protruding from the barrel 88. According to an example configuration, the operating part 86 having the barrel 88 and the operating portion 90 may be integrally formed as a single part. The operating part 86 may be pivotally connected to the side segment 20 A of the leg frame 20 about a shaft (not shown) that is disposed through a hole 92 in the barrel 88 .

[0082] Each of the link components 50 may illustratively have one end fixed to the barrel 88 of the operating component 86 (as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16 ) and an opposite end fixed to the wheel mount latch 40. For example, the barrel 88 may have two notches 88A for fixing the separate ends of the two link components 50. In this manner, the barrel 88 may rotate in one direction to unwind and relax the link components 50, so that the wheel mount latches 40 may receive the biasing force of the locking springs 42 to engage and lock onto the wheel mounts 30, and rotate in the opposite direction to at least partially wind the link components 50, so that the wheel mount latches 40 are pulled by the link components 50 and disengage from the wheel mounts 30, respectively.

[0083] 20 and 21 are schematic diagrams showing another modified release mechanism 93, which may be suitable for the release mechanism described above. Referring to FIGS. 20 and 21, the release mechanism 93 may have an operating part 94 disposed on a frame structure of the wheeled transport device. The operating part 94 may have a barrel 96 and a button 98, which are movably connected to a frame structure, such as the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14. The barrel 96 may be rotatably connected to the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14 about a pivot 99. As described above, each of the link components 50 may illustratively have a cable, which may have one end fixed to the barrel 96 (as shown in FIGS. 15 and 16) and an opposite end fixed to the wheel mount latch 40. For example, the barrel 96 may have two notches 96A at two diametrically opposite locations for fixing the respective ends of the two link components 50. In this manner, the barrel 96 may rotate in one direction to relax the linkage components 50 so that the wheel mount latches 40 may receive the biasing force of the locking springs 42 to engage the wheel mounts 30 individually to lock the wheel mounts, and may rotate in the opposite direction to pull the linkage components 50 so that the wheel mount latches 40 are pulled individually by the linkage components 50 to disengage individually from the wheel mounts 30. The button 98 may be slidably connected to the gripping portion 14B and may be pivotally connected to the barrel 96 at a location eccentric to the pivot shaft 99, such that the button 98 may slide along a plane that is approximately perpendicular to the pivot shaft 99. With this configuration, the button 98 is operable to rotate the barrel 96 to simultaneously pull the two linkage components 50, such that the wheel mount latches 40 are pulled individually by the linkage components 50 to disengage individually from the wheel mounts 30.

[0084] FIG. 22 is a perspective view showing a wheeled transport device 100 according to another embodiment, which is illustratively a child stroller device. Referring to FIG. 22, the wheeled transport device 100 may have a frame structure 102, which is similarly composed of a standing frame 12 and a handle frame 14 connected to each other. In the wheeled transport device 100, the handle frame 14 is rotatable with respect to the standing frame 12 between two different inclination positions so that a child can push the wheeled transport device 100 in different directions facing forward or backward. For example, the handle frame 14 may be inclined toward the leg frame 20 side in one position, and may be inclined toward the leg frame 22 side in another position.

[0085] In the wheeled transport device 100, the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 is not pivotally connected to the side link bar 24, so that the handle frame 14 can rotate beyond the side link bar 24 to adjust the handle frame 14 between two different tilt positions. The standing frame 12 of the wheeled transport device 100 is similar to the standing frame of the wheeled transport device 10 described above, and may further include a carrier bar 104 on each of the right and left sides, and the handle frame 14 may be similarly connected to the standing frame 12 on each of the right and left sides via a bar link 28 having a bar 28A. The carrier bar 104 may include an upper portion pivotally connected to the side link bar 24, and a lower portion pivotally connected to the side support bar 26, the bar 28A, and the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14, respectively, about a common pivot axis R. The bar 28A may be pivotally connected to the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20 and to the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14, respectively, about a pivot axis R. With this configuration, the handle frame 14 of the wheeled transport device 100 may rotate about the pivot axis R relative to the standing frame 12 and the bar link 28 to adjust between two different tilt positions.

[0086] Referring to FIG. 22, the standing frame 12 of the wheeled transport device 100 may similarly have two wheel assemblies 16 provided on the leg frame 20 and two wheel assemblies 18 provided on the leg frame 22. In conjunction with FIG. 22, FIG. 23 is a cross-sectional view showing one wheel assembly 16. Referring to FIGS. 22 and 23, the wheel assembly 16 may have the same configuration as described above and may have a wheel mount 30 pivotally connected to the leg frame 20, so that the wheel mount 30 and the wheel 32 supported by the wheel mount can rotate together with the leg frame 20. The same lock assembly 39 as described above may be provided to separately lock and unlock the wheel mount 30 to the standing frame 12, and the lock assembly 39 may have a wheel mount latch 40 movably connected to the standing frame 12 and a lock spring 42 operable to bias the wheel mount latch 40 to engage with the wheel mount 30.

[0087] FIG. 24 is an enlarged perspective view showing one wheel assembly 18 in conjunction with FIG. 22. Referring to FIG. 22 and FIG. 24, the wheel assembly 18 may have the same configuration as described above and may be pivotally connected to the leg frame 22, so that the wheel mount 34 and the wheel 36 supported by the wheel mount may rotate together with respect to the leg frame 22. Furthermore, a lock assembly 110 may be provided to pivotally lock and unlock the wheel mount 34 with respect to the standing frame 12. The lock assembly 110 may have a configuration similar to that of the lock assembly 39 of the wheel assembly 16. According to one example configuration, the lock assembly 110 may have a wheel mount latch 112 movably connected to the standing frame 12 and a lock spring 114 connected to the wheel mount latch 112. For example, the wheel mount latch 112 may be slidably connected to the side segment 22A of the leg frame 22, and the locking spring 114 may have two ends respectively connected to the side segment 22A and the wheel mount latch 112. Thus, the wheel mount latch 112 may slide downward to engage the wheel mount 34, thereby rotationally locking the wheel mount 34 to the standing frame 12, and slide upward to disengage and unlock the wheel mount 34, thereby allowing the wheel mount 34 to freely rotate relative to the standing frame 12 to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axle 36A. The locking spring 114 may bias the wheel mount latch 112 to engage the wheel mount 34.

[0088] 25-27, in conjunction with Figures 22-24, are schematic diagrams showing further construction details of the wheeled transport apparatus 100. With reference to Figures 22-27, the wheeled transport apparatus 100 may further include an actuation assembly 120 coupled to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 and a release mechanism 122 having an operating part 124 mounted on the frame structure 102 at a location spaced apart from the wheel mount latches 40 and 112.

[0089] The actuation assembly 120 may have a link actuator 126 movably connected to the standing frame 12, a link component 128 connecting the wheel mount latch 40 to the link actuator 126, and a link component 130 connecting the wheel mount latch 40 to the link actuator 126, with the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 each being associated with the wheel assemblies 16 and 18 located on the same side (i.e., the left or right side) of the wheeled transport device 100.

[0090] The link actuator 126 is configured to be movable in a first direction to pull the link part 130 to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and simultaneously loosen the link part 128 so that the wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30, and to be movable in a second direction opposite to the first direction to pull the link part 128 to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and simultaneously loosen the link part 130 so that the wheel mount latch 112 can engage with the wheel mount 34, and the link actuator 126 is movable in the first direction or the second direction depending on the rotation of the handle frame 14 relative to the standing frame 12 between different first and second tilt positions. According to one example configuration, the link actuator 126 can be pivotally connected to the standing frame 12 about a pivot axis R and can rotate as a unitary part relative to the standing frame 12 in the first and second directions. For example, the link actuator 126 may be pivotally supported by the carrier bar 104 of the standing frame 12 and disposed adjacent to one side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 or the standing frame 12. Examples of suitable structures for the link actuator 126 may include, but are not limited to, a lever, or the like.

[0091] 22 to 27, two link components 128 and 130 may be routed along the standing frame 12. According to an example configuration, the two link components 128 and 130 may each have two cable portions provided as two separate cables respectively connecting the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to the link actuator 126. For example, the link component 128 may have a cable having one end 128A fixed to the wheel mount latch 40 and another end 128B fixed to the link actuator 126, and the link component 130 may have a cable having one end 130A fixed to the wheel mount latch 112 and another end 130B fixed to the link actuator 126. The link component 128 may illustratively be routed along the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20 from the wheel mount latch 40, the side link bar 24, and the carrier bar 104 to the link actuator 126. In this manner, the link actuator 126 is rotatable in a first direction to pull the link part 130 and disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 to unlock the wheel mount, and at the same time to relax the link part 128 so that the wheel mount latch 40 can engage and lock the wheel mount 30, and is rotatable in a second direction opposite to the first direction to pull the link part 128 and disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 to unlock the wheel mount, and at the same time to relax the link part 130 so that the wheel mount latch 112 can engage and lock the wheel mount 34.

[0092] 22 to 27, the actuation assembly 120 may further include two springs 132 and 134 respectively connected to the link actuator 126. More specifically, the two springs 132 and 134 may each have two ends respectively connected to the link actuator 126 and the carrier bar 104, and the two springs 132 and 134 may each exert two biasing forces in different directions. For example, the spring 132 may bias the link actuator 126 to pull the link component 130 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12 and the handle frame 14 in a first direction to relax the link component 128, and the spring 134 may bias the link actuator 126 to rotate relative to the standing frame 12 and the handle frame 14 in a second direction to pull the link component 128 to relax the link component 130.

[0093] 22 to 27, the release mechanism 122 is operable while the handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34. According to an example configuration, the release mechanism 122 may have an operating part 124 and a connecting part 136 operatively connected to each other via a cable 138. The operating part 124 may be provided on the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14, and the connecting part 136 may be supported on the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14. The connecting part 136 may be movable between a first state and a second state relative to the handle frame 14 and the link actuator 126, and the link actuator 126 and the handle frame 14 are connected to each other such that when the connecting part 136 is in the first state, the link actuator 126 is rotatable together around the pivot axis R, and when the connecting part 136 is in the second state, the link actuator 126 is rotatable around the pivot axis R relative to the standing frame 12 and the handle frame 14.

[0094] According to an example configuration, the link actuator 126 may have a generally V-shaped slot 140 and a notch 142 at the bottom of the slot 140. The two link components 128 and 130 may be fixed to the link actuator 126 separately on two sides of the slot 140. The connecting component 136 may be engaged with the notch 142 in a first state and disengaged from the notch 142 in a second state. According to an example configuration, the connecting component 136 may be slidably connected to the handle frame 14. For example, the connecting component 136 may have a post portion 144 slidably connected to the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14, and a pin 146 fixedly connected to the post portion 144 and protruding laterally from the post portion 144. This allows the connecting part 136 to slide relative to the handle frame 14 between a first state in which the pin 146 engages with the notch 142 and a second state in which the pin 146 disengages from the notch 142. Engaging the connecting part 136 with the link actuator 126 in the first state can prevent the link actuator 126 from rotating relative to the handle frame 14. When the connecting part 136 is in the second state in which it is disengaged from the notch 142, the link actuator 126 can rotate relative to the standing frame 12 and the handle frame 14 under the biasing force of the spring 132 or 134.

[0095] 22 to 27, the release mechanism 122 may further include a spring 148 for biasing the connecting part 136 toward the second state engaged with the link actuator 126. For example, the spring 148 may have two ends respectively connected to the post portion 144 of the connecting part 136 and the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14.

[0096] FIG. 28, in conjunction with FIGS. 22 to 27, is an enlarged view showing the structural details of the operating part 124. Referring to FIGS. 22 and 28, the operating part 124 may have a barrel 150 and a button 152. The barrel 150 may be pivotally connected to the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14, and the cable 138 may have one end fixed to the barrel 150. The button 152 may be slidably connected to the gripping portion 14B and pivotally connected to the barrel 150. With this configuration, the button 152 may be depressed to rotate the barrel 150 to pull the cable 138, which causes the connecting part 136 to move against the biasing force of the spring 148 and disengage from the link actuator 126.

[0097] Since two wheel assemblies 16 and 18 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 100, the actuation assembly 120 and release mechanism 122 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and connected to the operating part 124.

[0098] According to the above-mentioned configuration, the handle frame 14 can rotate between a first position and a second position with the connecting part 136 in the first state, and the handle frame 14 can be inclined toward the leg frame 20 side in the first position and can be inclined toward the leg frame 22 side in the second position. Thus, when the handle frame 14 rotates from the second position to the first position, the link actuator 126 can rotate together with the handle frame 14 in a first direction to pull the link part 130 to relax the link part 128, thereby disengaging and unlocking the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and engaging and locking the wheel mount latch 40 with the wheel mount. Conversely, when the handle frame 14 rotates from the first position to the second position, the link actuator 126 may rotate with the handle frame 14 in the second direction to pull the link component 128 and relax the link component 130, thereby causing the wheel mount latch 40 to disengage and unlock from the wheel mount 30 and the wheel mount latch 112 to engage and lock with the wheel mount 34.

[0099] When the handle frame 14 is in the first position and releases the operating part 124, the biasing force of the spring 148 maintains the linking part 136 in a first state engaged with the link actuator 126, the wheel mount latch 40 engages with the wheel mount 30 and locks the wheel mount 30 to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount latch 112 remains disengaged from the wheel mount 34 at an initial distance, thereby unlocking the wheel mount 34 for free rotation relative to the standing frame 12. The elastic energy stored in the spring 134 in the first position of the handle frame 14 may be higher than the elastic energy stored in the spring 132. To unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34 while the handle frame 14 is in the first position, the caretaker may actuate the operating member 124 to move the connecting member 136 from a first state to a second state relative to the handle frame 14, which causes the link actuator 126, biased by the spring 134, to rotate in a second direction and pull the link member 128 to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30. This angular displacement of the link actuator 126 in the second direction to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 may likewise result in a limited displacement of the wheel mount latch 112 towards the wheel mount 34, less than an initial distance, such that the wheel mount latch 112 may still remain disengaged from the wheel mount 34. Thus, all the wheel mounts 30 and 34 may be unlocked simultaneously in the first position of the handle frame 14.

[0100] While the handle frame 14 is in the second position and releases the operating part 124, the biasing force of the spring 148 maintains the coupling part 136 in the first state engaged with the link actuator 126, the wheel mount latch 112 engages with the wheel mount 34 and locks the wheel mount 34 to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount latch 40 remains disengaged from the wheel mount 30 by an initial distance, thereby unlocking the wheel mount 30 for free rotation relative to the standing frame 12. In the second position of the handle frame 14, the elastic energy stored in the spring 132 may be higher than the elastic energy stored in the spring 134. To unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34 while the handle frame 14 is in the second position, the caretaker may actuate the operating part 124 to move the connecting part 136 from a first state to a second state relative to the handle frame 14, whereby the link actuator 126 biased by the spring 132 rotates in a first direction and pulls the link part 130 to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34. This angular displacement of the link actuator 126 to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 may likewise result in a limited displacement of the wheel mount latch 40 towards the wheel mount 30, less than an initial distance, such that the wheel mount latch 40 may still remain disengaged from the wheel mount 30. Thus, all the wheel mounts 30 and 34 may be unlocked simultaneously in the second position of the handle frame 14.

[0101] 29-31 are schematic diagrams illustrating an embodiment using an actuation assembly 120' that may be suitable for the actuation assembly 120 described above. Referring to FIGS. 29-31, the actuation assembly 120' may include a link actuator 126, two link components 128 respectively connecting the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to the link actuator 126, and two springs 132 and 134 respectively connected to the link actuator 126. The link actuator 126 used in the actuation assembly 120' may be substantially similar to the link actuator 126 of the actuation assembly 120, and further includes a guide slot 160 having an arcuate shape about the pivot axis R. Furthermore, the two link parts 128 and 130 used in the actuation assembly 120' may be formed by a single continuous cable, with two ends respectively fixed to the wheel mount latch 112 and the fixed opening 162 provided in the link actuator 126, and a middle part looped in and in sliding contact with the wheel mount latch 40. As described above, the link actuator 126 of the actuation assembly 120' may rotate with the handle frame 14 with the connecting part 136 engaged with the link actuator 126 to switch the locking state between the two wheel mount latches 40 and 112, and the connecting part 136 may be disengaged from the link actuator 126, whereby the link actuator 126 may rotate under a biasing force to unlock all the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 simultaneously. When the wheeled transport device 100 is folded for storage, the pin 146 of the connecting part 136 may slide along the guide slot 160.

[0102] Examples of suitable mechanisms for actuating the link actuator 126 may not be limited to spring mechanisms. In an alternative embodiment, the link actuator 126 may be operatively connected to and driven by a drive member (not shown) having a first state and a second state, which actuates the link actuator 126 to rotate when the drive element is in the second state. In this alternative, a single cable 138 may have two opposite ends respectively connected to the operating part 124 and the drive member, whereby the caretaker actuates the operating part 124 to rotate the drive member to move from the first state to the second state relative to the handle frame 14 or the standing frame 12, whereby the link actuator 126 driven by the drive element moves in a second direction and pulls the link part 128 or 130 to disengage the wheel mount latch from the wheel mount.

[0103] 32 to 39 are schematic diagrams showing a wheeled transport device 200 according to another embodiment implemented as a child stroller device. Referring to Fig. 32 to 39, the wheeled transport device 200 may have the frame structure 102, the wheel assemblies 16 and 18, and the lock assemblies 39 and 110 described above with reference to Fig. 22 to 24, and may further have an actuation assembly 220 and a release mechanism 222 that are suitable for the actuation assembly 120 and the release mechanism 122 of the above-mentioned embodiment.

[0104] 32 to 39, the actuation assembly 220 may include a link actuator 226 movably connected to the standing frame 12, a link part 228 connecting the wheel mount latch 40 to the link actuator 226, and a link part 230 connecting the wheel mount latch 112 to the link actuator 226, with the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 being respectively associated with the wheel assemblies 16 and 18 located on the same side (i.e., the left or right side) of the wheeled transport device 200. The link actuator 226 can move in a first direction to pull the link part 230 to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and simultaneously loosen the link part 228 so that the wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30, and can move in a second direction opposite to the first direction to pull the link part 228 to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and simultaneously loosen the link part 230 so that the wheel mount latch 112 can engage with the wheel mount 34, the link actuator 226 being movable in the first direction or the second direction in response to rotating the handle frame 14 between different first and second tilt positions relative to the standing frame 12. In this embodiment, the link actuator 226 can be pivotally connected to the standing frame 12 about a pivot axis R and can rotate as a unitary part relative to the standing frame 12 in the first and second directions. According to one example configuration, the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 may be fixedly connected to a shaft portion 232 extending along the pivot axis R, and the link actuator 226 may be disposed adjacent to the carrier bar 104 and rotationally coupled to the handle frame 14 by engaging the shaft portion 232 through a hole 226A in the link actuator 226, such that the link actuator 226 and the handle frame 14 may rotate together about the pivot axis R. Suitable examples of the link actuator 226 may include, but are not limited to, a rotating plate, a ring, and the like.

[0105] 32 to 39, the two link parts 228 and 230 may have cable portions provided as separate cables or defined from a single cable and routed along the standing frame 12. According to an example configuration, the two link parts 228 and 230 may have two separate cable portions respectively connecting the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to the link actuator 226. For example, the link part 228 may have a cable portion fixed to the link actuator 226 via the attachment part 234 and having an end fixed to the wheel mount latch 40, and the link part 230 may have a cable portion fixed to the link actuator 226 via the attachment part 234 and having an end fixed to the wheel mount latch 112. The link part 228 may illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 40 along the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, the side link bar 24 and the carrier bar 104 to the link actuator 226. The link component 230 may illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 112 along the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, the side link bar 24, and the carrier bar 104 to the link actuator 226. The link components 228 and 230 may extend generally parallel to one another along the carrier bar 104. In one example configuration, the two link components 228 and 230 may be defined from a single cable, which may form a unitary link component having an intermediate portion that loops at the link actuator 226 and first and second ends that are fixed to the wheel mount latch 40 and the wheel mount latch 112, respectively. In this manner, the link actuator 226 is rotatable with the handle frame 14 in a first direction to pull the link part 230 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and at the same time relax the link part 228 to allow the wheel mount latch 40 to engage and lock to the wheel mount 30, and is movable in a second direction opposite to the first direction to pull the link part 228 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount latch 40 and at the same time pull the link part 230 to allow the wheel mount latch 112 to engage and lock to the wheel mount 34.

[0106] 32 to 39, the release mechanism 222 may include an operating part 224 provided on the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14, which may be similar in construction to the operating part 124 described above. The release mechanism 222 may be similarly operable while the handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34. To this end, the actuation assembly 220 may further include a cable assembly 236 operatively connecting the operating part 224 to the wheel mount latch 40 and operatively disconnected from the link actuator 226, whereby the operating part 224 is operable to pull the cable assembly 236, whereby the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 are simultaneously and separately disengaged from the wheel mounts 30 and 34, respectively.

[0107] According to an example configuration, the cable assembly 236 may include a slide part 238, two cable portions 240 and 242 connected to the slide part 238, and a cable 244 connected to the slide part 238 and the operating part 224, respectively. The slide part 238 may be disposed adjacent to the carrier bar 104 and may slide along the longitudinal axis of the carrier bar 104. The two cable portions 240 and 242 may be provided as two separate cables connected to the slide part 238, respectively, or may be defined from a single cable connected to the slide part 238 and looped therein. The cable portion 240 may be further connected to the link part 228 or the wheel mount latch 40, and the cable portion 242 may be further connected to the link part 230 or the wheel mount latch 112. Fig. 37 shows a structure in which two cable portions 240 and 242 are attached to link parts 228 and 230, respectively, via two fastening members 246. Fig. 38 shows a variant configuration in which the two cable portions 240 and 242 may have two ends, respectively, which are redundantly connected to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 and to the link parts 228 and 230, respectively, and the cable portion 240 and the link part 228 may be guided adjacent to each other via a sleeve 248, and the cable portion 242 and the link part 230 may be guided adjacent to each other via another sleeve 248. FIG. 39 shows another variant in which the two cable portions 240 and 242 may each have two separate ends which are redundantly connected to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 and to the link parts 228 and 230, respectively, and the two link parts 228 and 230 and the two cable portions 240 and 242 may each be guided through four separate sleeves 250 that are separate from one another.

[0108] In the wheeled transport device 200, the handle frame 14 can tilt toward the leg frame 20 in the first position and toward the leg frame 22 in the second position. The link actuator 226 can rotate with the handle frame 14 in a first direction to pull the link component 230 and loosen the link component 228 when the handle frame 14 rotates from the second position to the first position, thereby disengaging and unlocking the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and engaging and locking the wheel mount latch 40 to the wheel mount 30. Conversely, the link actuator 226 can rotate with the handle frame 14 in a second direction to pull the link component 228 and loosen the link component 230 when the handle frame 14 rotates from the first position to the second position, thereby disengaging and unlocking the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and engaging and locking the wheel mount latch 112 to the wheel mount 34.

[0109] Since two wheel assemblies 16 and 18 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 200, the actuation assemblies 220 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and similarly coupled to the operating components 224.

[0110] While the handle frame 14 is in the first position and releases the operating part 224, the wheel mount latch 40 engages the wheel mount 30 and locks the wheel mount 30 to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount latch 112 remains disengaged from the wheel mount 34 at an initial distance, whereby the wheel mount 34 is unlocked for free rotation relative to the standing frame 12. To unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34 while the handle frame 14 is in the first position, the caretaker can actuate the operating part 224 to pull the cable assembly 236 and disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 without the action of the link actuator 226. The pulling action applied through the cable assembly 236 similarly moves the wheel mount latch 112 further away from the wheel mount 34, whereby the wheel mount latch 112 still remains disengaged from the wheel mount 34. Thus, all of the wheel mounts 30 and 34 can be unlocked simultaneously in the first position of the handle frame 14.

[0111] While the handle frame 14 is in the second position and releases the operating part 224, the wheel mount latch 112 engages the wheel mount 34 and locks the wheel mount 34 to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount latch 40 remains disengaged from the wheel mount 30 only in the initial position, whereby the wheel mount 30 is unlocked for free rotation relative to the standing frame 12. To unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34 while the handle frame 14 is in the second position, the caretaker can actuate the operating part 224 to pull the cable assembly 236, disengaging the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 without the action of the link actuator 226. The pulling action applied through the cable assembly 236 similarly moves the wheel mount latch 40 further away from the wheel mount 30, whereby the wheel mount latch 40 still remains disengaged from the wheel mount 30. Thus, all of the wheel mounts 30 and 34 can be unlocked simultaneously in the first position of the handle frame 14.

[0112] 40 to 45 are schematic diagrams showing a wheeled transport device 300 according to another embodiment implemented as a child stroller device. Referring to Fig. 40 to 45, the wheeled transport device 300 may have the frame structure 102, the wheel assemblies 16 and 18, and the lock assemblies 39 and 110 described above with reference to Fig. 22 to 24, and may further have an actuation assembly 320 and a release mechanism 322 that are suitable for the actuation assembly and release mechanism of the above-mentioned embodiments.

[0113] 40 to 45, the actuation assembly 320 may include a link actuator 326 and a link component 328 connecting the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to the link actuator 326, the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 being associated with the wheel assemblies 16 and 18 located on the same side (i.e., left or right) of the wheeled transport device 300, respectively. The link actuator 326 is disposed adjacent to the handle frame 14 and is rotatable together with the handle frame 14 with respect to the standing frame 12 and the bar link 28 about a pivot axis R. According to an example configuration, the link actuator 326 may be connected to the standing frame 12 or the bar link 28 so as to be rotatable about the pivot axis R. For example, the bar 28A of the bar link 28 may have a cavity 330, and the link actuator 326 is pivotally assembled in the cavity 330, thereby being rotatable as a unitary part about the pivot axis R. Examples of suitable structures for the link actuator 326 may include, but are not limited to, a rotating plate, a lever, and the like.

[0114] As described above, the handle frame 14 can rotate about the pivot axis R relative to the standing frame 12 and the bar link 28 between a first position inclined toward the leg frame 20 side and a second position inclined toward the leg frame 22 side (as shown in FIG. 40). The connecting part 332 can be provided on the handle frame 14, so that the rotation of the handle frame 14 between the first and second positions brings the connecting part 332 supported by the handle frame 14 into contact with the link actuator 326, causing the link actuator to rotate together with the handle frame 14. According to an example configuration, the connecting part 332 can have a pin portion and can slidably contact the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14. The connecting part 332 can be slidable relative to the handle frame 14 along the longitudinal axis of the side portion 14A. The link actuator 326 may have a recess 334 defined between two side walls 334A and 334B, and the connecting part 332 may be in sliding contact with either of the two side walls 334A and 334B. According to an example configuration, a spring 336 may be provided to bias the connecting part 332 toward the inside of the recess 334, and the spring 336 may have two ends respectively connected to the connecting part 332 and the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14. The biasing force exerted by the spring 336 may assist the connecting part 332 to remain in contact with the link actuator 326.

[0115] 40 to 45, the link component 328 may be looped at the wheel mount latch 40 of the leg frame 20 and may have two ends 328A and 328B respectively fixed to the link actuator 326 and the wheel mount latch 112 of the leg frame 22. According to an example configuration, the link component 328 may be a continuous cable having a middle portion 328C looped at the wheel mount latch, routed along the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20 and the side segment 22A of the leg frame 22, and having two ends 328A and 328B respectively fixed to the link actuator 326 and the wheel mount latch 112 of the leg frame 22. FIG. 44 shows the middle portion 328C of the link component 328 looped around the shaft 338 fixed to the wheel mount latch 40. Thus, the link component 328 may be in sliding contact with the wheel mount latch 40.

[0116] 44 and 45, the lock spring 42 connected to the wheel mount latch 40 is configured to apply a biasing force to engage the wheel mount latch 40 with the wheel mount 30. This biasing force of the lock spring 42 is greater than the biasing force that the lock spring 114 applies to the wheel mount latch 112 to engage the wheel mount latch 112 with the wheel mount 34. As a result, two different tension forces can be applied separately to the end portion 328B and the middle portion 328C of the link component 328. This causes the link actuator 326 to be rotationally biased in a direction that tends to displace the side wall portion 334A of the recess 334 toward the connecting component 332.

[0117] With the above-mentioned configuration, the link actuator 326 rotates together with the handle frame 14, and when the handle frame 14 rotates between a first position inclined toward the leg frame 20 and a second position inclined toward the leg frame 22, the link actuator 326 can switch the lock state between the wheel mounts 30 and 34. For example, when the handle frame 14 rotates from the second position to the first position, the link actuator 326 rotates together with the handle frame 14 in a first direction due to the biasing force applied by the lock spring 42, and can pull the end 328B of the link component 328, disengaging the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34, and at the same time, can relax the middle portion 328C of the link component 328, so that the wheel mount latch 40 can engage with the wheel mount 30. The rotational displacement of the link actuator 326 in the first direction can be stopped by contact between a rib 340 provided on the link actuator 326 and a stop protrusion 342 provided on the cavity 330, which corresponds to the first position of the handle frame 14. Thus, when the handle frame 14 is in the first position, the wheel mount 30 can be locked to the standing frame 12 and the wheel mount 34 can be unlocked to be free to rotate relative to the standing frame 12 .

[0118] Conversely, when the handle frame 14 rotates from the first position to the second position, the connecting part 332 supported by the handle frame 14 comes into contact with the side wall part 334A of the recessed part 334, and the link actuator 326 can rotate together with the handle frame 14 in a second direction opposite to the first direction against the biasing force of the lock spring 42. This rotational displacement of the link actuator 326 in the second direction can pull the middle part 328C of the link part 328, disengaging the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30, and at the same time, can relax the end part 328B of the link part 328, so that the wheel mount latch 112 can engage with the wheel mount 34 under the biasing force of the lock spring 114. Therefore, when the handle frame 14 is in the second position, the wheel mount 34 can be locked to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount 30 can be unlocked to be rotatable relative to the standing frame 12.

[0119] 40 and 42, the release mechanism 322 may have an operating part 324 provided on the grip portion 14B of the handle frame 14, which may be similar in configuration to the operating part 124 described above. The release mechanism 322 is similarly operable when the handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position, and causes the wheel mounts 30 and 34 to be unlocked simultaneously. According to an example configuration, the operating part 324 may be connected to the link actuator 326 via a cable 344. Thus, the operating part 324 may be operable when the handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position, and may pull the cable 344 to rotate the link actuator 326 in one of the first and second directions to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34, and the coupling part 332 may slide into contact with a side wall 334B of a recess 334 in the link actuator 326 during the rotation of the link actuator 326 caused by the actuation of the operating part 324. For example, while the handle frame 14 is in the first position, actuation of the operating component 324 may cause the link actuator 326 to rotate in a second direction and pull the link component 328, thereby moving the wheel mount latch 40 out of engagement with the wheel mount 30. The displacement of the link actuator 326 caused by such actuation of the operating component 324 is limited and less than the rotational displacement of the link actuator 326 that occurs when switching the handle frame 14 from the first position to the second position, so that the wheel mount latch 112 may remain out of engagement with the wheel mount 34. Thus, all of the wheel mounts 30 and 34 may be unlocked simultaneously while the handle frame 14 is in the first position.

[0120] Actuation of the operating component 324 while the handle frame 14 is in the first position may likewise cause the link actuator 326 to rotate in a second direction, pulling the link component 328 to slide through the wheel mount latch 40, which remains disengaged from the wheel mount 30, thereby resulting in the link component 328 pulling the wheel mount latch 112 to disengage from the wheel mount 34. Thus, all of the wheel mounts 30 and 34 may be unlocked simultaneously while the handle frame 14 is in the second position.

[0121] According to an alternative configuration, rather than connecting the operating part 324 to the link actuator 326 via the cable 344, the actuation assembly 320 may incorporate the cable assembly 236 described above with reference to Figures 37 to 39, which may be configured to operatively connect the operating part 324 to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 while operatively disconnecting it from the link actuator 326. For example, the cable 244 of the cable assembly 236 may be connected to the slide part 238 and the operating part 324 separately, the cable portion 240 may be connected to a first portion of the wheel mount latch 40 or the link part 328 extending along the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, and the cable portion 242 may be connected to a second portion of the wheel mount latch 112 or the link part 328 extending along the side segment 22A of the leg frame 22, with the first and second portions folded relative to each other. According to this alternative configuration, the operating component 324 can similarly be actuated while in either of the first and second positions, which in turn can pull the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to disengage and unlock them from the wheel mounts 30 and 34 independently of the link actuator 326.

[0122] Since the two wheel assemblies 16 and 18 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 300, the actuation assemblies 320 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and similarly coupled to the operating components 324.

[0123] Figures 46 to 49 are schematic diagrams showing a wheeled transport device 400 according to another embodiment implemented as a child stroller device. With reference to Figures 46 to 49, the wheeled transport device 400 may have the frame structure 102, the wheel assemblies 16 and 18, and the lock assemblies 39 and 110 described above with reference to Figures 22 to 24, and may further have an actuation assembly 420 and a release mechanism 422 that are suitable for the actuation assembly and release mechanism of the above-mentioned embodiments.

[0124] 46 to 49, the actuation assembly 420 may include a link actuator 426 movably connected to the standing frame 12, a link part 430 connecting the wheel mount latch 112 to the link actuator 426, a spring 432 and wheel mount latches 40 and 112 respectively associated with the wheel assemblies 16 and 18 located on the same side of the wheeled transport apparatus 400 (i.e., the left or right side). The link actuator 426 may move in a first direction to pull the link part 430 to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and simultaneously relax the link part 428, whereby the wheel mount latch 40 engages with the wheel mount 30, and may pull the link part 428 in a second direction opposite to the first direction to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and simultaneously relax the link part 428. The link actuator 426 may be loosened so that the wheel mount latch 112 engages with the wheel mount 34, and the link actuator 426 may move in a first direction or a second direction in response to the handle frame 14 rotating between different first and second tilt positions relative to the standing frame 12. According to an example configuration, the link actuator 426 may be slidably connected to the standing frame 12 and may slide as a unitary piece relative to the standing frame 12 in the first and second directions. For example, the carrier bar 104 may have a guide slot 434, and the link actuator 426 may be guided to slide along the guide slot 434. Furthermore, the link actuator 426 may be exposed and protrude outwardly from the carrier bar 104 to operatively interact with the handle frame 14.

[0125] 47, the two link parts 428 and 430 may have cable portions provided as separate cables or defined as a single cable and routed along the standing frame 12. According to an example configuration, the two link parts 428 and 430 may be formed as a single continuous cable. This cable may loop around a guide member 436 connected to the carrier bar 104, may extend along the guide slot 434, and may be fixedly connected to the link actuator 426. The two link parts 428 and 430 defined from the cable may extend to two sides of the guide member 436. The link part 428 may exemplarily extend from the carrier bar 104 along the side link bar 24 and the side segment 20A of the leg frame 20, and may have an end 428A fixed to the wheel mount latch 40. Link component 430 may illustratively extend from carrier bar 104 along side link bar 24 and side segment 22A of leg frame 22 and may have an end 430A secured to wheel mount latch 112. Link components 428 and 430 may extend generally parallel to one another along carrier bar 104. In this manner, the link actuator 426 is slidable along the guide slot 434 relative to the standing frame 12 in a first direction, pulling the link part 430 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 112 from the wheel mount 34 and at the same time relaxing the link part 428 to allow the wheel mount latch 40 to engage and lock to the wheel mount 30, and is slidable in a second direction opposite to the first direction, pulling the link part 428 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and at the same time relaxing the link part 430 to allow the wheel mount latch 112 to engage and lock to the wheel mount 34.

[0126] The spring 432 may be connected to the link actuator 426 and may apply a biasing force to the link actuator 426 to slide the link actuator 426 in the second direction. In one example configuration, the spring 432 may have two ends respectively connected to the link actuator 426 and a fixed structure provided on the carrier bar 104.

[0127] As described above, the handle frame 14 of the wheeled transport device 400 can rotate around the rotation axis R between a first position inclined toward the leg frame 20 side and a second position inclined toward the leg frame 22 side with respect to the standing frame 12 and the bar link 28, and by rotating the handle frame 13 from the second position to the first position, the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 can be connected to the link actuator 426 to move the link actuator in the first direction against the biasing force of the spring 432. For example, a protrusion (not shown) can be provided on the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14, and when the handle frame 14 is rotated in the first direction, this protrusion can come into contact with the link actuator 426 to move the link actuator in the first direction. Therefore, when the handle frame 14 is in the first position, the wheel mounting body 30 can be locked to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mounting body 34 can be unlocked to be rotatable relative to the standing frame 12.

[0128] Conversely, by rotating the handle frame 14 from the first position to the second position, the side portion 14A of the handle frame 14 may be moved away from contact with the link actuator 426, which may then move in the second direction under the bias of the spring 432. Thus, when the handle frame 14 is in the second position, the wheel mount 34 may be locked to the standing frame 12, and the wheel mount 30 may be unlocked to be free to rotate relative to the standing frame 12.

[0129] 46, the release mechanism 422 may have an operating part 424 provided on the gripping portion 14B of the handle frame 14, which may be similar in construction to the operating part 124 described above. The release mechanism 422 may similarly be operable while the handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 30 and 34. To this end, the actuation assembly 420 may further cooperate with the cable assembly 236 described above with reference to FIGS. 37 to 39, which cable assembly is not shown in FIGS. 46 and 47 for the sake of clarity. The cable assembly 236 used in the wheeled transport apparatus 400 may be configured to operatively connect the operating part 424 to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 while operatively disconnecting it from the link actuator 426. For example, cable 244 of cable assembly 236 may be separately connected to slide component 238 and actuating component 424, cable portion 240 may be connected to wheel mount latch 40 or link component 428, and cable portion 242 may be connected to wheel mount latch 112 or link component 430. Thus, actuating component 424 may be similarly actuated while handle frame 14 is in either the first or second position to pull cable assembly 236 which in turn may pull wheel mount latches 40 and 112 to disengage and unlock wheel mounts 30 and 34 independently of link actuator 426.

[0130] Since two wheel assemblies 16 and 18 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 400, the actuation assemblies 420 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and similarly coupled to the operating components 424.

[0131] According to an alternative embodiment, the actuation assembly provided on the wheeled transport device 400 may include a link actuator disposed adjacent to the handle frame 14 or the standing frame 12, and a link component having a looped intermediate portion at the link actuator and first and second ends fixed to the wheel mount latch 40 and the wheel mount latch 112, respectively, the link actuator being rotatable in a first direction together with the handle frame 14 or the standing frame 12 to actuate the second end of the link component, and in particular to push the second end of the link component. or pulls the link actuator to disengage the wheel mount latch 112 from the second wheel mount 34 and simultaneously relaxes the intermediate portion of the link component to engage the wheel mount latch 40 with the first wheel mount 30, and the link actuator is rotatable together with the handle frame 14 in a second direction opposite to the first direction to actuate the intermediate portion of the link component, in particular, pushes or pulls the intermediate portion of the link component to disengage the wheel mount latch 40 from the wheel mount 30 and simultaneously relaxes the second end of the link component to engage the wheel mount latch 112 with the wheel mount 34. In this alternative embodiment, the actuation assembly may further include a cable assembly (such as, for example, cable assembly 236 shown in Figures 37 to 39) that operatively connects and operatively disconnects the actuation part 424 to the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 from the link actuators, and the actuation part 424 is operable to actuate the cable assembly, in particular to push or pull the cable assembly, whereby the wheel mount latches 40 and 112 are disengaged from the wheel mounts 30 and 34, respectively. In this alternative embodiment, the cable assembly may be similar to cable assembly 236 described above with reference to Figures 37 to 39 and may have a slide part, first and second cable portions connected to the slide part, and a third cable portion connected to the slide part and the operating part 424, where the first cable portion is further connected to the wheel mount latch 40 or a first portion of the link part, and the second cable portion is further connected to the wheel mount latch 112 or a second portion of the link part, and the first and second portions of the link part are folded relative to each other.

[0132] 50 to 61 are schematic diagrams showing a wheeled transport device 500 according to another embodiment implemented as a child stroller device. Referring to Fig. 50 to 61, the wheeled transport device 500 may have a frame structure 502 including a standing frame 512 and a handle frame 514 connected to each other, and a plurality of wheel assemblies 516 and 518 provided at the bottom of the standing frame 512. The standing frame 512 may have two leg frames 520 and 522 pivotally connected to each other. Each of the leg frames 520 and 522 may have two side segments, such as two side segments 520A for the leg frame 520 and two side segments 522A for the leg frame 522, symmetrically arranged on the right and left sides of the standing frame 512, and a lateral segment fixedly connected to the two side segments, such as a lateral segment 520B fixedly connected to the two side segments 520A for the leg frame 520 and a lateral segment 522B fixedly connected to the two side segments 522A for the leg frame 522. On the right and left sides, the side segment 52A of the leg frame 520 and the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522 may be pivotally connected to each other, respectively, so that the leg frames 520 and 522 may rotate relative to each other about a pivot axis P during folding and unfolding of the wheeled transport device 500.

[0133] The handle frame 514 may be pivotally connected to the standing frame 512 around a pivot axis P. More specifically, the handle frame 514 may have two side portions 514A symmetrically arranged on the right and left sides, and a grip portion 514B connected to the two side portions 514A. On each of the right and left sides, the side portion 514A of the handle frame 514 may be pivotally connected to the standing frame 512. For example, on each of the right and left sides, the standing frame 512 may have a connecting part 524, and the handle frame 514 may have a connecting part 526 pivotally connected to the connecting part 524 around the pivot axis P. The connecting part 524 may be, for example, a housing fixedly connected to the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520 or the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522, and the connecting part 526 may be, for example, a shell fixedly connected to the side portion 514A of the handle frame 514. According to this configuration, the handle frame 514 is rotatable about the rotation axis O with respect to the standing frame 512 between a first position inclined toward the leg frame 520 side and a second position inclined toward the leg frame 522 side.

[0134] 50 and 51, two wheel assemblies 516 may be provided at the lower end of a side segment 520A of the leg frame 520, and two wheel assemblies 518 may be provided at the lower end of two side segments 522A of the leg frame 522, respectively. Each of the wheel assemblies 516 may have a wheel mount 530, which is pivotally connected to the leg frame 520 and supports at least a wheel 532 that is rotatable relative to the wheel mount 530 about a wheel axle 532A extending substantially horizontally, whereby the wheel mount 530 is rotatable relative to the standing frame 512 to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axle 532A. Similarly, each wheel assembly 518 may have a wheel mount 534 that is pivotally connected to the leg frame 522 and supports at least a wheel 536 that is rotatable relative to the wheel mount 534 about a generally horizontally extending wheel axle 536A such that the wheel mount 534 can be rotated relative to the standing frame 512 to change the horizontal orientation of the wheel axle 536A. The wheel mount 530 is spaced from the wheel mount 534 along a longitudinal axis of the wheeled transport apparatus 500, the longitudinal axis extending from the rear to the front of the wheeled transport apparatus.

[0135] 50 to 52, the two wheel assemblies 516 may have the same configuration. In each of the wheel assemblies 516, the wheel mount 530 may be pivotally connected to the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520 about a pivot shaft 538, so that the wheel mount 530 and the wheel 532 supported by the wheel mount may rotate together about the pivot shaft 538. Furthermore, a lock assembly 539 is provided to rotationally lock and unlock the wheel mount 530 with respect to the standing frame 512. The lock assembly 539 may include a wheel mount latch 540 movably connected to the standing frame 512 and a lock spring 542 connected to the wheel mount latch 540. The wheel mount latch 540 may move downward to engage the wheel mount 530, thereby rotationally locking the wheel mount 530 relative to the standing frame 512, and may move upward to disengage from the wheel mount 530, unlocking the wheel mount, thereby allowing the wheel mount 530 to rotate relative to the standing frame 512. A locking spring 542 may apply a biasing force to engage the wheel mount latch 540 with the wheel mount 530.

[0136] 50, 51 and 53, the two wheel assemblies 518 may have the same configuration. In each of the wheel assemblies 518, the wheel mount 534 may be pivotally connected to the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522 about a pivot shaft 544, so that the wheel mount 534 and the wheel 536 supported by the wheel mount may rotate together about the pivot shaft 544. Further, a lock assembly 546 is provided to rotationally lock and unlock the wheel mount 534 with respect to the standing frame 512. The lock assembly 546 may include a wheel mount latch 548 movably connected to the standing frame 512 and a lock spring 550 connected to the wheel mount latch 548. The wheel mount latch 548 may move downward to engage the wheel mount 534, thereby rotationally locking the wheel mount 534 with respect to the standing frame 512, and move upward to disengage from the wheel mount 534, unlocking the wheel mount 534, thereby allowing it to rotate relative to the standing frame 512. A locking spring 550 may apply a biasing force to engage the wheel mount latch 548 with the wheel mount 534.

[0137] Referring to Figures 50 to 61, the wheeled transport device 500 may further include an actuation assembly 552 connected to the wheel mounting latches 540 and 548 and a release mechanism 554 having an operating part 556 provided on the handle frame 514.

[0138] 52 to 55, the actuation assembly 552 may include a link actuator 558 movably connected to the standing frame 512, a link component 560 connecting the wheel mount latch 540 to the link actuator 558, and a link component 562 connecting the wheel mount latch 548 to the link actuator 558, with the wheel mount latches 540 and 548 being respectively associated with the wheel assemblies 516 and 518 located on the same side (i.e., the left or right side) of the wheeled transport device 500.

[0139] The link actuator 558 is configured to be movable in a first direction, pulling the link part 562 to disengage the wheel mount latch 548 from the wheel mount 534 and simultaneously loosening the link part 560 so that the wheel mount latch 540 can engage with the wheel mount 530, and is configured to be movable in a second direction opposite to the first direction, pulling the link part 560 to disengage the wheel mount latch 540 from the wheel mount 530 and simultaneously loosening the link part 562 so that the wheel mount latch 548 can engage with the wheel mount 534, the link actuator 558 being movable in the first direction or the second direction in response to the rotation of the handle frame 514 relative to the standing frame 512 between different first and second tilt positions. According to one example configuration, link actuator 558 may be pivotally connected to standing frame 512 about pivot axis P and may rotate as a unitary piece relative to standing frame 512 in first and second directions. For example, link actuator 558 may be pivotally assembled within a cavity defined between connecting pieces 524 and 526 about tubular body 563, which is fixedly connected to connecting piece 524. Examples of structures suitable for link actuator 558 may include, without limitation, a rotating plate, a ring, and the like.

[0140] 52 to 54, the two link components 560 and 562 may have cable portions and may be routed along the standing frame 512. According to an example configuration, the two link components 560 and 562 may each have two cable portions provided as two separate cables, which respectively connect the wheel mount latches 540 and 548 to the link actuator 558. For example, the link component 560 may have a cable having an end 560A fixed to the wheel mount latch 540 and another end 560A fixed to the link actuator 558, and the link component 562 may have a cable having an end 562A fixed to the wheel mount latch 548 and another end 562A fixed to the link actuator 558. The link component 560 may illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 540 to the link actuator 558 along the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520. The link component 562 can illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 548 to the link actuator 558 along the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522. In this manner, the link actuator 558 can rotate in a first direction to pull the link component 562 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 548 from the wheel mount 534 and simultaneously relax the link component 560 so that the wheel mount latch 540 can engage and lock with the wheel mount 530, and can rotate in a second direction opposite the first direction to pull the link component 560 to disengage and unlock the wheel mount latch 540 from the wheel mount 530 and simultaneously relax the link component 562 so that the wheel mount latch 548 can engage and lock with the wheel mount 538.

[0141] As shown in FIG. 52, a tensioning mechanism may be coupled to a link component 560 at a side segment 520A of the leg frame 520 to ensure that the link component 560 is properly tensioned during operation. The tensioning mechanism may include a slide component 564 fixed to the link component 560, a guide member 565 fixedly connected to the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520, and a spring 566 connected to the slide component 564 and the guide member 565, respectively. The link component 560 may move through the guide member 565, and the slide component 564 is constrained to slide within the guide member 565. The spring 566 may be loaded by the slide component 564 and may exert a biasing force that may cause the slide component 564 to slide downward when the link component 560 is pulled by the link actuator 558, facilitating tensioning of the link component 560 when the link actuator 558 relaxes the link component 560.

[0142] 54 to 59, the actuation assembly 552 may further include a rotary coupling mechanism 568 configured to rotatably couple the link actuator 558 to the handle frame 514 while the handle frame 514 rotates between different first and second tilt positions, and to rotatably decouple the link actuator 558 from the handle frame 514 when the handle frame 514 rotates to fold the wheeled transport device 500. The rotary coupling mechanism 568 may include a guide slot 570 provided in the connecting part 524 of the standing frame 512, a catch part 572 supported by the link actuator 558, and a spring 574 (shown in FIG. 59). The guide slot 570 may illustratively be formed in the tubular body 563 of the connecting part 524 and may extend about the pivot axis P. Furthermore, the guide slot 570 may have a slot portion 570A and two slot portions 570B connected to the slot portion 570A on two sides of the slot portion and inclined at a predetermined angle relative to the slot portion 570A.

[0143] The catch piece 572 may be connected to the link actuator 558 at a location eccentric to the pivot axis P and is movable relative to the link actuator 558 between a first state for rotationally coupling the link actuator 558 to the handle frame 514 and a second state for rotationally decoupling the link actuator 558 from the handle frame 514. According to one example configuration, the catch piece 572 may be assembled with the link actuator 558 to slide along the pivot axis P. This allows the catch piece 572 to slide relative to the link actuator 558 between a first state in which the catch piece 572 is engaged with the connecting piece 526 of the handle frame 514 and a second state in which the catch piece 572 is disengaged from the connecting piece 526 of the handle frame 514. For example, the connecting piece 526 may have an opening 576 and the catch piece 572 may be engaged with the opening 576 in the first state and disengaged from the opening 576 in the second state. A spring 574 may be separately connected to the catch piece 572 and the link actuator 558 and may bias the catch piece 572 towards the first state.

[0144] 54 to 59, the catch piece 572 may have a protrusion 578 that protrudes laterally and is received in a guide slot 570 of the connecting piece 524. The catch piece 572 is engaged with the connecting piece 526, and the protrusion 578 is received in the slot portion 570A when the catch piece 572 is in a first state for rotationally connecting the link actuator 558 to the handle frame 514. When the handle frame 514 rotates relative to the standing frame 512 between different first and second tilt positions, the link actuator 558 may rotate with the handle frame 514 with the catch piece 572 in the first state, and the protrusion 578 of the catch piece 572 may slide freely along the slot portion 570A.

[0145] When the handle frame 514 is rotated beyond the rotation range between the first and second states to fold the wheeled transport device 500, the protrusion 578 is moved from the slot portion 570A into one of the two slot portions 570B, thereby moving the catch part 572 to the second state and disengaging it from the coupling part 526. Thus, the link actuator 558 can be rotationally decoupled from the handle frame 514. This can ensure that the link actuator 558 operates properly within the rotation range of the handle frame 514 between the different first and second tilt positions.

[0146] Thus, according to the above-described configuration, the wheel mount 530 can be locked to the standing frame 512 and the wheel mount 534 can be unlocked for free rotation when the handle frame 514 is in a first position, and the wheel mount 534 can be locked to the standing frame 512 and the wheel mount 530 can be unlocked for free rotation when the handle frame 514 is in a second position.

[0147] 50-54, 60 and 61, the release mechanism 554 may include an operating part 556 provided on the gripping portion 514B of the handle frame 514 and operable while the handle frame 514 is in either of the first and second positions to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 530 and 534. To this end, the actuation assembly 552 may further include a cable assembly 580 operatively connecting the operating part 556 to the wheel mount latches 540 and 548 and operatively disconnected from the link actuator 558, whereby the operating part 556 is operable to pull the cable assembly 580, whereby the wheel mount latches 540 and 548 are simultaneously and separately disengaged from the wheel mounts 530 and 534, respectively. For example, the cable assembly 580 may have a cable portion 580A connected to the wheel mount latch 540, a cable portion 580B connected to the wheel mount latch 548, and a cable portion 580C connected to the operating part 556 and the cable portions 580A and 508B, respectively. As shown in FIG. 60, the operating part 556 may have a barrel 582 and a button 584. The barrel 582 may be pivotally connected to the gripping portion 514B of the handle frame 514, and the cable portion 580C may have an end fixed to the barrel 582. The button 584 may be slidably connected to the gripping portion 514B and may be pivotally connected to the barrel 582. With this configuration, the button 584 may be depressed to rotate the barrel 582 and pull the cable assembly 580, thereby simultaneously unlocking the wheel mount latches 540 and 548.

[0148] Since two wheel assemblies 516 and 518 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 500, the actuation assembly 552 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and similarly coupled to the operating part 556.

[0149] 62 to 78 are schematic diagrams showing another embodiment of a wheeled transport device 600 implemented as a child stroller device. Referring to Figs. 62 to 78, the wheeled transport device 600 may include the frame structure 502, the wheel assemblies 516 and 518, and the locking assemblies 539 and 546 described above with reference to Figs. 50 to 53, and may further include an actuation assembly 620 and a release mechanism 622 that may be compatible with the actuation assembly 552 and the release mechanism 554 of the above-described embodiment.

[0150] 62 and 63, on the right and left sides, respectively, the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520 may be fixedly connected to a connecting part 624, the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522 may be fixedly connected to a connecting part 626, and the side portion 514A of the handle frame 514 may be fixedly connected to a connecting part 628. The connecting parts 624, 626, and 628 may be, for example, housing elements and may be pivotally connected to each other about a pivot axis P, whereby the handle frame 514 and the leg frames 520 and 522 may rotate relative to each other to fold and unfold the wheeled transport device. Furthermore, the handle frame 514 is rotatable about the pivot axis P relative to the standing frame 512 between a first position inclined toward the leg frame 520 side and a second position inclined toward the leg frame 522 side.

[0151] 64 to 69, the actuation assembly 620 may have two link actuators 630 and 632 movably connected to the standing frame 512, a link part 634 connecting the wheel mount latch 540 to the link actuator 630, a link part 636 connecting the wheel mount latch 548 to the link actuator 632, and a forcing part 638 provided on a connecting part 628 of the handle frame 514, and the wheel assemblies 516 and 518 are located on the same side (e.g., left or right) of the wheeled transport device 600. According to an example configuration, the link actuator 630 may be movably connected to a connecting part 624 of the leg frame 520, and the link actuator 632 may be movably connected to a connecting part 626 of the leg frame 522. For example, the link actuators 630 and 632 may be slidably connected to the connecting parts 624 and 626, respectively, and may be disposed radially apart from the pivot axis P. This allows link actuators 630 and 632 to slide different radial distances relative to standing frame 512 .

[0152] The forcing portion 638 may be provided on the connecting piece 628 of the handle frame 514 at a location eccentric to the pivot axis P. In one example configuration, the forcing portion 638 may be fixedly connected to the connecting piece 626 and may protrude inward. For example, the forcing portion 638 may be formed integrally with the connecting piece 628. The forcing portion 638 is movable with the handle frame 514 and contacts and pushes the link actuator 630 or 632 to slide radially toward the pivot axis P. The link actuator 630 or 632 may be moved to pull the link component 634 or 636 via sliding contact between the forcing portion 638 and the inclined surfaces of the link actuators 630 and 632, respectively. For example, the forcing portion 638 may have an inclined surface 638A that may push the link actuator 630 and an inclined surface 638B that may push the link actuator 632.

[0153] 64 to 67, the two link components 634 and 636 may have cable portions and may be routed along the standing frame 512. According to an example configuration, the two link components 634 and 636 may have two cable portions provided as two separate cables, respectively connecting the wheel mount latch 540 to the link actuator 630 and the wheel mount latch 548 to the link actuator 632. The link component 634 may illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 540 to the link actuator 630 along the side segment 520A of the leg frame 520. The link component 636 may illustratively be routed from the wheel mount latch 548 to the link actuator 632 along the side segment 522A of the leg frame 522.

[0154] Depending on the direction of rotation of the handle frame 514, the forcing portion 638 may move with the handle frame 514, pushing against the link actuator 630 or 632, pulling and sliding the corresponding wheel mount latch 540 or 548 to unlock. For example, rotation of the handle frame 514 from the second position to the first position may cause the forcing portion 638 to move away from the link actuator 630 and push against the link actuator 632, which in turn pulls the wheel mount latch 548 to disengage from the wheel mount 534, while the link component 634 may be relaxed, allowing the wheel mount latch 540 to engage the wheel mount 530 under the biasing force of the locking spring 543. Conversely, rotation of the handle frame 514 from the first position to the second position may move the force portion 638 away from the link actuator 632 and push the link actuator 630, which in turn may pull the wheel mount latch 540 to disengage it from the wheel mount 530, while the link component 636 may be relaxed, which may cause the wheel mount latch 548 to engage the wheel mount 534 under the bias of the lock spring 550. Thus, when the handle frame 514 is in the first position, the wheel mount 530 may be locked to the standing frame 512 and the wheel mount 534 may be unlocked to rotate freely, and when the handle frame 514 is in the second position, the wheel mount 534 may be locked to the standing frame 512 and the wheel mount 530 may be unlocked to rotate freely.

[0155] 68 and 71 to 78, the release mechanism 622 is operable while the handle frame 514 is in either the first or second position to simultaneously unlock the wheel mounts 530 and 534. Thus, according to one example configuration, the release mechanism 622 may include an operating part 624 disposed on the gripping portion 514B of the handle frame 514, two force parts 640 and 642 carried by the handle frame 514, and a release actuator 644 coupled to the operating part 624 and operatively connected to the two force parts 640 and 642.

[0156] The two forcing parts 640 and 642 may be received in two cavities 646 and 648, respectively, provided in the connecting part 628 of the handle frame 514, and may be configured to be movable relative to the connecting part 628 toward or away from the link actuators 630 and 632. For example, the two forcing parts 640 and 642 may be slidably connected to the connecting part 628, and may slide parallel to the pivot axis P toward or away from the link actuators 630 and 632. Two springs 650 and 652 may be provided to bias the two forcing parts 640 and 642, respectively, away from the link actuators 630 and 632. For example, the spring 650 may have two ends connected to the forcing part 640 and the connecting part 628, respectively, and the spring 652 may have two ends connected to the forcing part 642 and the connecting part 628, respectively.

[0157] Because the forcing parts 640 and 642 are supported by the handle frame 514, the forcing parts 640 and 642 may move with the handle frame 514 about the pivot axis P while the handle frame 514 rotates between the different first and second tilt positions. More specifically, when the handle frame 514 is in the first position, the forcing part 640 may be positioned adjacent to the link actuator 630 and the forcing part 642 may be spaced apart from the link actuator 632, and when the handle frame 514 is in the second position, the forcing part 642 may be positioned adjacent to the link actuator 632 and the forcing part 640 may be spaced apart from the link actuator 630. Thus, forcing part 640 is movable and pushes link actuator 630 to disengage wheel mount latch 540 from wheel mount 530 when handle frame 514 is in a first position, and forcing part 642 is movable and pushes link actuator 632 to disengage wheel mount latch 548 from wheel mount 534 when handle frame 514 is in a second position. Forcing parts 640 and 642 may have respective ramped surfaces 640A and 642A, and link actuators 630 and 632 may be moved separately to pull link parts 634 and 636 via sliding contact between ramped surfaces 640A and link actuator 630 and between ramped surfaces 642A and link actuator 632.

[0158] 71 to 78, the release actuator 644 is supported by the handle frame 514 and is connected to the operating part 624 via a cable 654. The release actuator 644 is movable and pushes the two forcing parts 640 and 642 together, which in turn pushes the link actuator 630 or 632 adjacent to the forcing part, thereby unlocking the corresponding wheel mount latch 540 or 548. According to an example configuration, the release actuator 644 may be slidably connected to the connecting part 628 of the handle frame 514 and may slide as a unitary part along an axis approximately perpendicular to the displacement axis of the forcing parts 640 and 642. The forcing parts 640 and 642 may be moved to push the link actuators 630 and 632 toward the pivot axis P via sliding contact between the release actuator 644 and the forcing parts 640 and 642.

[0159] 62 and 71, the operating component 624 may include a barrel 656 and a button 658. The barrel 656 may be pivotally connected to the gripping portion 514B of the handle frame 514, and the cable 654 may have an end fixed to the barrel 656. The button 658 may be slidably connected to the gripping portion 514B and pivotally connected to the barrel 656. With this configuration, the button 658 may be depressed and rotated to pull the cable 654, which may cause the release actuator 644 to move and push the force components 640 and 642 to contact and push against the link actuators 630 or 632.

[0160] While the handle frame 514 is in the first position, the wheel mount 534 remains unlocked by interaction between the forcing portion 638 and the link actuator 632, with the forcing part 640 positioned adjacent the link actuator 630 and the forcing part 642 positioned spaced apart from the link actuator 632. When the caretaker actuates the operating part 624, the release actuator 644 moves and pushes the forcing part 640, which in turn moves the link actuator 630 to pull the wheel mount latch 540 and disengage it from the wheel mount 530. Thus, the wheel mounts 530 and 534 can be unlocked simultaneously.

[0161] While the handle frame 514 is in the second position, the wheel mount 530 remains unlocked by interaction between the forcing portion 638 and the link actuator 630, with the forcing part 642 positioned adjacent the link actuator 632 and the forcing part 640 positioned spaced apart from the link actuator 630. When the caretaker actuates the operating part 624, the release actuator 644 moves and pushes the forcing part 642, which in turn moves the link actuator 632 to pull the wheel mount latch 548 and disengage it from the wheel mount 534. Thus, the wheel mounts 530 and 534 can be unlocked simultaneously.

[0162] Since two wheel assemblies 516 and 518 are provided on the right and left sides, respectively, of the wheeled transport device 600, the actuation assembly 620 and the release mechanism 622 may be disposed symmetrically on the right and left sides and connected to the operating part 624.

[0163] Advantages of the wheeled transport apparatus described herein include the ability to lock and unlock the wheel assemblies with respect to the standing frame in a flexible manner. Depending on the need, some of the wheel assemblies can be locked while others are unlocked, or all of the wheel assemblies can be unlocked simultaneously as needed. Thus, the wheeled transport apparatus can be more flexible in use and can provide better maneuverability.
