Abstract

To provide a driving unit that can be reduced in vertical dimension without decreasing the efficiency of cooling a coil.SOLUTION: A driving unit 10 comprises a motor for driving 20, and a driving unit case 11 having a motor chamber 12. A stator 23 of the motor for driving 20 is immersed in motor cooling oil R2 introduced from an oil introduction section 126 into the motor chamber 12 and cooled. An oil exhaust section 127 exhausting the motor cooling oil R2 from the motor chamber 12 is provided in a left wall part 122 of the motor chamber 12. The motor chamber 12 is provided with a separator 128 between the oil exhaust section 127 and the stator 23. The separator 128 extends so that an upper end part 128a is located at a position higher than an upper end of a coil 232 of the motor for driving 20. A communication space 125c through which the motor cooling oil R2 flows is formed between the upper end part 128a of the separator 128 and the driving unit case 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 12
