Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a printing device. [Background technology]

[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses an input device that can maintain the angle of the panel even after a touch operation, and at the same time, is easy to assemble and maintains long-term reliability. In this input device, an operation panel is supported by a housing so as to be freely rotatable. A sliding protrusion having a sliding surface protrudes from the rear surface of the operation panel and is inserted into a slit in the housing. A pressure contact member housed in an accommodation chamber inside the housing is biased downward by a coil spring and is pressed against the inclined wall. Since the distance between the inclined wall and the sliding surface becomes shorter downward, the pressure contact member slides along the inclined wall and is pressed against the sliding surface. [0007] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In the description, directions such as front, back, left, right, and up and down are the same as directions relative to the printing device 1 unless otherwise specified. Also, the symbol FR shown in each drawing indicates the front of the printing device 1 when the printing device 1 is installed for use, the symbol UP indicates the upper side of the printing device 1, and the symbol LH indicates the left side of the printing device 1.

[0008] 1 is a perspective view of the printing apparatus 1 as seen from the right. In FIG. 1, the portions of the exterior panel 9 that cover the transport path R are indicated by dots. The printing device 1 is a so-called line-type inkjet printer that includes a line-shaped inkjet head and ejects ink from the inkjet head to print characters and images on a printing medium.

[0009] The printing medium used for printing by the printer 1 is a cut sheet cut to a predetermined size or a continuous sheet. These sheets are made of paper, synthetic resin, etc. These sheets may be, for example, fine paper that has been surface-treated to enhance the ink absorption and fixation properties suitable for inkjet printing.

[0010] Examples of the continuous sheet include roll paper that is stored in the printer 1 in a rolled state, and fanfold paper that is supplied in a folded state to the printer 1 from outside the printer 1. Examples of roll paper include plain paper or fine paper wound into a roll, as well as label paper made by arranging standard size labels with adhesive on the backing on a release paper and winding them into a roll.

[0011] In this embodiment, labels of a predetermined size with adhesive on the backing are placed on a mount on which a long release paper that can be peeled off from the adhesive is formed, and the rolled label paper 100 is used as the print medium. On the label paper 100, multiple labels are arranged at equal intervals in the longitudinal direction of the mount. The printing device 1 transports the label paper 100 and prints characters and images on the printing surface of each label on the label paper 100. In other words, the printing device 1 is a label printer. The label paper 100 is shown in FIG.

[0012] Fig. 2 is a front view of the printing device 1. Fig. 3 is a rear view of the printing device 1. Fig. 4 is a left side view of the printing device. Fig. 5 is a right side view of the printing device. Fig. 6 is a plan view of the printing device. Fig. 7 is a bottom view of the printing device. In Figs. 2 to 7, the portions of the exterior panel 9 that cover the transport path R are indicated by dots. 1 to 7, the printing device 1 includes a device case 10, which is a housing having a substantially rectangular parallelepiped shape. The device case 10 is formed by combining a plurality of exterior panels 9 that form the sides, front, back, etc. The device case 10 is an exterior part that forms the outer shell of the printing device 1. 2 and 3, a stepped shape is provided on the top surface of the device case 10. On the top surface of the device case 10, the top surface portion located on the left side is located higher than the top surface portion located on the right side.

[0013] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, a display / operation panel 12 is provided in the front of the device case 10, in a location in the upper half toward the left. The display / operation panel 12 has a display 60 that functions as a display unit that displays predetermined information, and operators 62 such as operation buttons arranged on a flat surface 61. As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the display / operation panel 12 has a flat plate shape with a predetermined thickness. The display / operation panel 12 is arranged so that its longitudinal direction extends in the left-right direction.

[0014] 1, 2 and 4, the display / operation panel 12 is provided on the front side of an operation unit facing panel 64 which is a part of the exterior panel 9. As shown in FIG. 4, the operation unit facing panel 64 has a concave shape recessed from the front side of the device case 10 toward the rear side of the device case 10. The concave shape is formed along the outline of the rear side of the display / operation panel 12. Therefore, when the rear side of the display / operation panel 12 is arranged parallel to the operation unit facing panel 64, the display / operation panel 12 is arranged so as to fit into the operation unit facing panel 64. This reduces the portion of the display / operation panel 12 that protrudes from the device case 10 in the printing device 1. Therefore, the printing device 1 can be provided with the display / operation panel 12 while suppressing an increase in installation space. Furthermore, when the printing device 1 is packed and transported, for example, it is possible to make the box in which the printing device 1 is housed smaller. In other words, when the printing device 1 is packed, it is possible to suppress an increase in packaging material. Therefore, the printing device 1 can be transported at low cost, and transportation efficiency can be improved.

[0015] As shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, when the rear surface is disposed parallel to the operation unit facing panel 64, the upper end portion of the display / operation panel 12 has a curved shape that protrudes upward. As a result, even if liquid or the like adheres to the printing device 1 from above, the liquid can be discharged along the curved surface at the upper end of the display / operation panel 12. This prevents adhesions from accumulating on the display / operation panel 12. In addition, the printing device 1 can prevent liquid from seeping into the electronic boards, electronic components, and wiring inside the display / operation panel 12.

[0016] At the upper end of the display / operation panel 12, the curved shape is a semicircular shape concentric with the rotation axis of the display / operation panel 12. Also, at the upper end of the operation unit facing panel 64 facing the curved shape, a curved shape that follows this curved shape is formed. Therefore, the upper end of the display / operation panel 12 and the upper end of the operation unit facing panel 64 are disposed with a predetermined gap between them. As a result, in the printing device 1, when the display / operation panel 12 is rotated around the rotation axis, the gap between the upper end of the display / operation panel 12 and the upper end of the operation unit facing panel 64 is maintained constant within the range in which the display / operation panel 12 can be rotated. Therefore, when the display / operation panel 12 is rotated, foreign matter is prevented from being caught in the gap between the upper end of the display / operation panel 12 and the upper end of the operation unit facing panel 64 . The display / operation panel 12 corresponds to the "operation section."

[0017] 1, a paper cover 16 is provided on the device case 10 in an openable and closable manner. The paper cover 16 forms part of the front surface and part of the top surface of the printing device 1. The paper cover 16 is formed from a position near the right side of the front surface of the device case 10 to a position near the front of the top surface of the device case. In this embodiment, the paper cover 16 forms part of the top surface of the printing device 1. The paper cover 16 is formed so as to be openable and closable by rotating about a connecting portion 120 provided on the top surface of the device case 10 at approximately the center in the front-rear direction.

[0018] A storage section 20 that stores label paper 100 is provided inside the paper cover 16. In the printing device 1, by opening the paper cover 16, it is possible to load the label paper 100 wound in a roll into the storage section 20. In the printing device 1, by opening the paper cover 16, it is possible to access the inside of the device case 10 from the outside, and it is possible to operate the storage section 20 and each section related to transport.

[0019] A printing unit cover 19 is provided on the left side of the paper cover 16 in the device case 10. The printing unit cover 19 forms a portion of the top surface that is close to the front surface of the device case 10. The printing unit cover 19 is formed to be able to rotate around a connecting portion 121 provided in approximately the center of the top surface of the device case 10, and to be opened and closed. A printing unit 22 that prints on the label paper 100 is provided below the printing unit cover 19. In other words, the printing unit cover 19 covers the printing unit 22 from above.

[0020] 4, a slit-shaped paper outlet 14 extending in the front-rear direction is formed in the left side surface located to the left of the device case 10, approximately in the center toward the front when viewed from the left side surface. In the printing device 1, printed label paper 100 is discharged from the paper outlet 14. In this embodiment, the side surface on which the paper discharge outlet 14 is formed is not provided with an operation unit, a display unit, or the like.

[0021] FIG. 8 is a rear view of the main parts of the printing device 1, showing the various parts related to the transport path R. As shown in FIG. 8, the printing device 1 includes a storage unit 20 that stores label paper 100, a printing unit 22 that prints on the label paper 100, and a transport unit 24 that transports the label paper 100 from the storage unit 20 to the printing unit 22. 1 to 8, in the printing device 1, the storage unit 20 is provided on the right side, and the printing unit 22 is provided on the left side of the storage unit 20. The transport unit 24 is provided below the printing unit 22.

[0022] The storage unit 20 includes a roll shaft 26 on which the label paper 100 is attached. The roll shaft 26 is a rod-shaped member that is rotatable in the circumferential direction. The label paper 100 is stored in the storage unit 20 by inserting the roll shaft 26 through the center of the roll of the label paper 100. A drive device such as a motor may be connected to the roll shaft 26, and the roll shaft 26 may rotate in response to the drive device. In the printing device 1, the label paper 100 rotates as the roll shaft 26 rotates.

[0023] In the printing device 1, a transport path R is formed along which one end of the label paper 100 attached to a roll shaft 26 is pulled out and transported to the paper discharge outlet 14. In the transport path R, a tension lever 28 is attached above the label paper 100 stored in the storage section 20. The tension lever 28 is formed in a column shape that has a curved surface in the circumferential direction and extends in the front-to-rear direction. The tension lever 28 applies tension to the label paper 100 to prevent it from sagging. One end of the label paper 100 is pulled upward and comes into contact with the tension lever 28. After being bent by the tension lever 28, the label paper 100 extends to the left.

[0024] A paper guide unit 30 is provided to the left of the tension lever 28. The paper guide unit 30 guides the label paper 100 to the left, and prevents the label paper 100 from skewing or shifting in the conveyance of the label paper 100. The paper guide unit 30 comprises a lower guide member 32 that supports the label paper 100 from below, and a pair of paper pressing members 34 that are located on the upper surface side of the label paper 100 .

[0025] The lower guide member 32 has a flat surface 33 extending in the left-right direction. The flat surface 33 has a width dimension along the front-rear direction of the device case 10 that is longer than the width dimension of the label paper 100. The label paper 100 is placed on and supported by the flat surface 33 of the lower guide member 32.

[0026] The paper pressing member 34 is located above the label paper 100 facing the lower guide member 32, and prevents the label paper 100 from floating up. The paper pressing members 34 are arranged at each of the locations located at both ends of the lower guide member 32 along a direction intersecting the conveying direction F. Each paper pressing member 34 is provided rotatable about an axis of rotation parallel to the conveying direction F. The paper pressing members 34 are rotatable from a position facing the flat surface 33 with a specified gap therebetween, to a position separated from the flat surface 33.

[0027] The label paper 100 is placed on the flat surface 33 with each of the paper holding members 34 positioned away from the flat surface 33. After this, the paper holding members 34 are rotated to a position facing the flat surface 33 with a specified gap therebetween, so that the label paper 100 is sandwiched between the lower guide member 32 and the paper holding members 34. The label paper 100 is conveyed in the paper guiding unit 30 while being sandwiched between a lower guide member 32 and a paper pressing member 34. The paper guiding unit 30 functions as a guide for the label paper 100.

[0028] A printing section 22 that prints on the label paper 100 is provided to the left of the paper guide unit 30. The printing section 22 includes a platen 40 and a print head 42. The print head 42 of this embodiment ejects four colors of ink, C (cyan), M (magenta), Y (yellow), and K (black), to form dots on the printing surface of the label. The print head 42 includes a nozzle section 41 that ejects K (black) ink, a nozzle section 43 that ejects C (cyan) ink, a nozzle section 45 that ejects M (magenta) ink, and a nozzle section 47 that ejects Y (yellow) ink. The nozzle sections 41 to 47 include a plurality of nozzles that eject ink, which are arranged in rows in the width direction of the label paper 100. The nozzles of each of the nozzle sections 41 to 47 are arranged in a direction that intersects with the transport direction F. In this embodiment, the direction in which the nozzles are arranged is a direction perpendicular to the transport direction F. The direction in which the nozzles are arranged coincides with the width direction of the label paper 100. The print head 42 functions as an image forming unit.

[0029] The print head 42 is a line inkjet head that can eject ink without scanning in the width direction of the label paper 100. Therefore, the nozzle row of the nozzle units 41-47 is formed to be at least as wide as or wider than the printable range of the label paper 100. In this embodiment, the printable range corresponds to the printing surface of the label. In this embodiment, a configuration example is given in which the nozzle sections 41, 43, 45, and 47 are arranged in this order along the transport direction F of the label paper 100, but the order in which the nozzles of each color are arranged in the transport direction F is arbitrary.

[0030] The platen 40 has a flat surface that is arranged parallel to the transport direction F. This flat surface is located below the transport path R and faces the print head 42. The nozzle portions 41-47 and the platen 40 are arranged with a gap therebetween, which is a so-called platen gap. The platen 40 has a flat upper surface that supports the label paper 100 from below. The platen 40 is provided over at least the entire printing range of the printing unit 22. The upper surface of the platen 40 is disposed substantially horizontally when the printing device 1 is installed and in use.

[0031] The transport section 24 includes a cylindrical transport roller 50. The transport roller 50 is disposed so that its longitudinal direction extends in a direction intersecting the transport direction F, and is provided so as to be freely rotatable in the circumferential direction. The transport roller 50 is disposed between the left end of the paper guiding unit 30 and the right end of the platen 40 in the transport direction F.

[0032] A driven wheel is provided at one end of the transport roller 50. A transmission belt 51 is wound around the driven wheel. The transmission belt 51 is wound around a drive shaft of a transport motor 52. This allows the transport roller 50 and the transport motor 52 to be connected via the transmission belt 51. The transport motor 52 is a drive device that rotates the transport roller 50. The transport motor 52 and the transmission belt 51 are provided below the platen 40.

[0033] The transport section 24 includes a plurality of driven rollers 54. The driven rollers 54 are cylindrical, and the peripheral surface is formed of a flexible material such as rubber. The plurality of driven rollers 54 are rotatably arranged along the longitudinal direction of the transport roller 50. Each of the driven rollers 54 is biased so that the peripheral surface thereof contacts the peripheral surface of the transport roller 50. As a result, the transport roller 50 and the driven roller 54 are arranged in contact with each other with their peripheral surfaces facing each other. The transport roller 50 is disposed on the lower guide member 32 side, and the driven roller 54 is disposed on the paper pressing member 34 side.

[0034] The transport rollers 50 may be disposed on the lower guide member 32 side, in other words, on the platen 40 side. Also, for example, the transport unit 24 may include a transport belt that is movable on the upper surface of the platen 40, instead of the transport rollers 50.

[0035] In the conveying section 24, the conveying motor 52 is driven to rotate the conveying roller 50 via the transmission belt 51, and the driven roller 54 is driven to rotate. As a result, the label paper 100 loaded between the lower guide member 32 and the paper pressing member 34 is sandwiched between the conveying roller 50 and the driven roller 54, and is conveyed to the printing section 22 as the conveying roller 50 is rotated.

[0036] The label paper 100 placed on the flat surface 33 and sent out from the paper guiding unit 30 is inserted and sandwiched between the transport roller 50 and the driven roller 54. In this state, the transport roller 50 rotates, so that the label paper 100 is transported to the printing section 22. In the printing device 1, the transport roller 50 and the driven roller 54 form a transport roller pair.

[0037] The printer 1 is provided with a label detector 70 on the transport path R. The label detector 70 detects the leading and trailing ends of the label paper 100 and the leading and trailing ends of the labels. The label detector 70 of this embodiment is positioned downstream of the paper guiding unit 30 and upstream of the transport roller 50. The label detector 70 is, for example, an optical transmission sensor that has a light-emitting unit 72 on the underside of the label paper 100 and a light-receiving unit 74 on the upper side of the label paper 100 on the transport path R. The light-emitting unit 72 and the light-receiving unit 74 are positioned opposite each other in the up-down direction with a distance large enough to allow the label paper 100 to pass through. In other words, the light-emitting unit 72 and the light-receiving unit 74 are positioned opposite each other in the thickness direction of the label paper 100. As a result, the light-emitting unit 72 and the light-receiving unit 74 are positioned at approximately the same position in the left-right direction.

[0038] The label detector 70 may be disposed downstream of the transport rollers 50 and upstream of the print head 42. Also, for example, the light-emitting unit 72 may be disposed on the lower guide member 32 side, and the light-receiving unit 74 may be disposed on the paper pressing member 34 side. In this case, the light-emitting unit 72 may be disposed on the platen 40 side, and the light-receiving unit 74 may be disposed on the print head 42 side.

[0039] In the label detector 70, the light-emitting unit 72 and the light-receiving unit 74 can be disposed in a position where the light-receiving unit 74 can receive the light emitted from the light-emitting unit 72 at a predetermined signal intensity. In this case, the output value indicating the amount of light received by the light-receiving unit 74 differs depending on whether there is no label paper 100 directly below the light-receiving unit 74, whether there is a backing paper, or whether there is a label. In other words, the signal intensity of the light emitted from the light-emitting unit 72, the light transmitted through the backing paper, and the light transmitted through the label are different from one another. For this reason, the label detector 70 can detect the leading and trailing ends of the label paper 100 and the leading and trailing ends of the label by the output value indicating the amount of light received by the light-receiving unit 74.

[0040] A cutter unit 110 is disposed downstream of the print head 42 in the transport direction F, in other words, to the left of the print head 42. The cutter unit 110 includes a fixed blade 112 and a movable blade 114 disposed on either side of the transport path R, and the movable blade 114 is connected via a gear or the like to a drive device such as a motor that drives the cutter. When the motor is driven, the cutter unit 110 moves the movable blade 114 toward the fixed blade 112 and cuts the label paper 100. The cutter unit 110 may be one that leaves a portion of the label paper 100 uncut in the width direction, or may be one that cuts the label paper 100 completely. The printing device 1 cuts the label paper 100 printed by the print head 42 to a predetermined length by the cutter unit 110 and discharges it from the paper discharge port 14. The cutter unit 110 may be formed separately from the printing device 1 and may be detachably provided on the left side surface of the printing device 1, for example.

[0041] The printing device 1 includes a control board 18 that controls each part of the printing device 1. The control board 18 includes a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, and the like as an arithmetic execution unit. The ROM of the control board 18 stores firmware executable by the CPU, data related to the firmware, and the like in a non-volatile manner. The RAM also stores data related to the firmware executed by the CPU, and the like temporarily. The control board 18 may include other peripheral circuits, and the like. The control board 18 may include a storage unit capable of non-volatilely storing various programs and data, such as control programs and data related to these control programs.

[0042] The control board 18 is configured to be able to detect operations on the printing device 1 and the conveyance amount of the label paper 100. The control board 18 is formed so as to be capable of controlling the drive devices provided in the printing device 1, such as the transport motor 52. The control board 18 supplies voltage to the pump that supplies ink from the ink tank in the print head 42 and the piezoelectric elements provided in the nozzle portions 41-47 of the print head 42 to operate them. As a result, in the printing device 1, ink droplets are ejected from each nozzle of the nozzle portions 41-47 to form dots.

[0043] As shown in Fig. 8, a frame 4 is housed inside the device case 10. The frame 4 is a framework member to which various mechanical parts of the printing device 1, such as the storage unit 20, printing unit 22, transport unit 24, and control board 18, are attached and which supports the mechanical parts. The printing device 1 is formed by covering the frame 4, to which the various mechanical parts are attached, with each of the exterior panels 9.

[0044] In this embodiment, the frame 4 is formed of a metal member. This allows the frame 4 to ensure electrical continuity. This allows the printing device 1 to improve its resistance to noise caused by static electricity and the like. Furthermore, the printing device 1 can reduce the effects of electromagnetic waves from outside the printing device 1 and suppress the emission of radiated electromagnetic waves from the printing device 1. The frame 4 is not limited to being made of a metal material, and may be made of other materials such as a resin material.

[0045] 1 to 8, on the exterior panel 9, the area around the paper exit 14, the printing unit cover 19, the upper part of the paper cover 16, the display / operation panel 12, and the operation unit facing panel 64 located on the rear side of the display / operation panel 12 are colored differently from other areas. In this way, the areas colored differently from other areas correspond to the areas that cover the transport path R. This creates a contrast between the areas that cover the transport path R and other areas on the exterior panel 9 of the printing device 1. This makes it easy for the user to determine the position of the transport path R from the exterior of the printing device 1.

[0046] In the printing device 1 of this embodiment, the area covering the transport path R is colored in a blackish color, and the other areas are colored in a whitish color. In the printing device 1, it is sufficient that there is a certain level of color difference between the portion covering the transport path R and the other portions. For example, the portion covering the transport path R may be a whitish color, and the other portions may be a blackish color. Also, for example, in the printing device 1, either the portion covering the transport path R or the other portions may be a chromatic color, and the other portions may be an achromatic color.

[0047] 9 and 10 are perspective views of the display / operation panel 12. FIG. As shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the display / operation panel 12 is provided so as to be rotatable about a long side located at the upper end when viewed from the front, as a rotation axis. The display / operation panel 12 has an operation unit facing panel 64 located on the rear side of the display / operation panel 12. The display / operation panel 12 can be rotated steplessly from a state in which the rear surface of the display / operation panel 12 abuts against the surface of the operation unit facing panel 64 and the flat surface portion 61 is arranged parallel to the front surface of the printing device 1 to a state in which the flat surface is arranged approximately perpendicular to the front surface of the printing device 1. In other words, the display / operation panel 12 can be arranged so that the flat surface portion 61 forms an angle between 0 degrees and approximately 90 degrees with respect to the front surface of the printing device 1.

[0048] As a result, even when the user operates the printing device 1 from a position facing the left side, the flat surface 61 is positioned at an angle of approximately 90 degrees to the front surface of the printing device 1, making it possible to operate and view the display / operation panel 12. Furthermore, in the printing device 1, the flat surface 61 is positioned at approximately 0 degrees to the front surface of the printing device 1, so that the operation panel can be easily seen even when the operator is seated.

[0049] In addition, when the flat surface 61 is at approximately 0 degrees relative to the front surface of the printing device 1, it is possible to reduce the space required for arranging the printing device 1. As a result, for example, when the printing device 1 is packed and transported, it is possible to suppress an increase in packaging material for the printing device 1 by packing the printing device 1 in a state in which the flat surface 61 is at approximately 0 degrees relative to the front surface of the printing device 1. This makes it possible to transport the printing device 1 at low cost, and improves transportation efficiency.

[0050] In the following description, the state of the display / operation panel 12 in which the flat surface 61 forms approximately 0 degrees with respect to the front surface of the printing device 1 is referred to as the 0 degree position, and the state of the display / operation panel 12 in which the flat surface 61 forms approximately 90 degrees with respect to the front surface of the printing device 1 is referred to as the 90 degree position.

[0051] In addition, the display / operation panel 12 can be maintained at any angle within its rotatable range.

[0052] Figure 11 is a cross-section in plane XI of figure 9. Figure 12 is a cross-section in plane XII of figure 10. 11 and 12, the display / operation panel 12 includes a front panel 66 forming the flat portion 61 and a rear panel 68 forming the rear surface, which are combined to form the housing of the display / operation panel 12. The rear panel 68 is provided with a rear recess 67 that is recessed toward the front panel 66 side. The front panel 66 and the rear panel 68 are disposed with a gap V1 therebetween at a location corresponding to the long side that serves as the rotation axis of the display / operation panel 12.

[0053] 11 and 12, the operation unit facing panel 64 is formed of an upper facing panel 76 and a lower facing panel 78 located below the upper facing panel 76. A gap V2 is provided between the lower end of the upper facing panel 76 and the upper end of the lower facing panel 78.

[0054] FIG. 13 is a perspective view showing the display / operation panel 12 and the operation unit facing panel 64. As shown in FIG. 13, a bulging portion 79 that bulges from the inside to the outside of the device case 10 is provided on the lower facing panel 78. As shown in Fig. 11 and Fig. 12, a bulging space S is provided inside the bulging portion 79. Wiring 150 extending from the printing unit 22, the transport unit 24, the control board 18, etc. is housed in the bulging space S. The bulging portion 79 has a shape that fits entirely inside the rear recess 67. Therefore, in the printing device 1, the bulging portion 79 can be provided while preventing the display / operation panel 12 from protruding outward from the device case 10.

[0055] 11 and 12, a wiring 150 extending from inside the bulging space S is inserted into the gap V1 and the gap V2. Within the range in which the display / operation panel 12 can be rotated, the wiring 150 is always disposed inside the gap V1 and the gap V2. Therefore, in the printing device 1, the display / operation panel 12 has a function of rotating, and it is possible to connect each part arranged inside the device case 10 with the internal mechanism of the display / operation panel 12 by wires.

[0056] In the printing device 1, the wiring 150 is contained within the gaps V1 and V2 without being exposed to the outside of the printing device 1, thereby preventing static electricity noise from the outside of the printing device 1 from being discharged to the electronic circuit section inside the printing device 1. As a result, the printing device 1 prevents malfunctions of various electrical components provided in the printing device 1 caused by the noise. In addition, the printing device 1 can prevent the wiring 150 from being disconnected due to erroneous operation or the like, and can hide the gaps V1 and V2 while ensuring functionality. Therefore, the printing device 1 can ensure aesthetics and design, and can improve design freedom.

[0057] 13, the rear panel 68 is provided with operation section slits 63 that are formed by cutting downward from the long side located at the top when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree position. Two operation section slits 63 are provided on each end of the rear panel 68 in the left-right direction. A flange portion 65 is provided on the rear panel 68. The flange portion 65 has a flange shape that stands up from the rear panel 68. The flange portion 65 is provided so as to sandwich the operation unit slit 63 from the left and right direction. The flange portion 65 has a fan-shaped flange shape centered on the rotation axis of the display / operation panel 12 when viewed from the left and right direction. In this way, in the printing device 1, by providing the flange portion 65, foreign objects, etc. are kept away from the location approaching the rotation axis when the display / operation panel 12 is rotated. This prevents foreign objects, etc. from being caught between the display / operation panel 12 and the device case 10 in the printing device 1.

[0058] The operation unit facing panel 64 is provided with a plurality of panel slits 69. The panel slits 69 are provided at positions overlapping with the operation unit slits 63 in a front view when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree position. The panel slits 69 are formed by cutting downward from the long side located at the top.

[0059] Fig. 14 is a perspective view of the display / operation panel 12. In Fig. 14, the front panel 66 is omitted. As shown in FIG. 14, an operation board 80 is housed inside the display / operation panel 12. The operation board 80 has a display 60 and an operator 62 mounted thereon. A wiring 150 is connected to the operation board 80. The operation board 80, like the control board 18, has a CPU, a ROM, a RAM, and the like as an arithmetic execution unit. The ROM of the operation board 80 stores firmware executable by the CPU, data related to the firmware, and the like in a non-volatile manner. The RAM also temporarily stores data related to the firmware executed by the CPU, and the like. The operation board 80 may also have other peripheral circuits, and the like. The operation board 80 may also have a storage unit capable of non-volatilely storing various programs and data, such as control programs and data related to these control programs.

[0060] The operation board 80 is formed so as to be able to activate the light emitting unit 72 and the light receiving unit 74, and to be able to acquire the detection value of the label detector 70. The label detector 70 functions as a detection means in cooperation with the operation board 80.

[0061] A board holding section 82 that holds an operation board 80 is housed inside the display / operation panel 12. The board holding section 82 is formed in a generally box-like shape with the flat surface opposite to the flat surface section 61 omitted. The operation board 80, while housed inside the board holding section 82, is fixed to the board holding section 82 by, for example, screw members or the like.

[0062] 15 and 16 are perspective views of the board holding portion 82 and the attachment portion 90. FIG. The board holding portion 82 is provided with a plate-shaped standing portion 84 that surrounds the circumferential direction of the operation board 80. The standing portion 84 faces each side of the operation board 80 and forms a flat surface that stands in the board thickness direction of the operation board 80. 15 and 16, the board holding portion 82 is provided with a slit 83 that is formed by cutting downward from the long side located at the top when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree attitude. The slit 83 is provided in the left-right direction on the inside of an upright portion 84 located in the left-right direction of the operation board 80 when viewed from the front.

[0063] As shown in FIGS. 14, 15 and 16, the display / operation panel 12 is attached to the frame 4 via an attachment portion 90. As shown in FIG. The mounting portion 90 is a member that is attached to the frame 4 at a location located on the front side of the printing device 1. The mounting portion 90 is formed long and extends in the left-right direction. A first arm portion 92 is provided at both ends of the mounting portion 90 in the longitudinal direction. The first arm portion 92 has a flat plate shape that extends from the inside of the device case 10 toward the outside. In the left-right direction, the first arm portion 92 is disposed outside the standing portion 84 located in the left-right direction of the operation board 80 when viewed from the front. The first arm portion 92 is provided so that a plane of the first arm portion 92 faces a plane of the standing portion 84 located in the left-right direction of the operation board 80.

[0064] A second arm portion 94 is provided at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the attachment portion 90. Similar to the first arm portion 92, the second arm portion 94 has a flat plate shape extending from the inside of the device case 10 toward the outside. In the left-right direction, the second arm portion 94 is disposed outside the standing portion 84 located in the left-right direction of the operation board 80 in a front view. The first arm portion 92 is provided such that a plane of the first arm portion 92 faces a plane of the standing portion 84 located in the left-right direction of the operation board 80.

[0065] The first arm portion 92 and the second arm portion 94 extend from the inside to the outside of the device case 10 by passing through the panel slit 69, and are positioned inside the display / operation panel 12 by being inserted into the operation portion slit 63.

[0066] The display / operation panel 12 is rotatably attached to the printing device 1 by a hinge portion 105. The hinge portion 105 is formed by connecting the board holding portion 82 and the attachment portion 90. The hinge portions 105 are provided on both ends of the display / operation panel 12. The following description will be given of the hinge unit 105 located at the left end of the display / operation panel 12. The hinge unit 105 located at the right end of the display / operation panel 12 has a substantially identical structure to that of the hinge unit 105 located at the right end. Note that the hinge unit 105 may be provided at only one of the two ends of the display / operation panel 12.

[0067] Fig. 17 is a cross-sectional view taken along plane XVII of Fig. 16. Plane XVII is a plane that is perpendicular to the front-rear direction and passes through the central axis of rod-shaped portion 101 of hexagonal bolt 102 over the entire longitudinal direction of rod-shaped portion 101. As shown in FIG. 17, in each of the upright portions 84 located on the left and right sides of the operation board 80, when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree position, a first insertion hole 85 penetrating in the left and right direction is provided at a position close to the long side located at the upper end. The first arm portion 92 has a tip end provided with a second insertion hole 93 penetrating therethrough in the left-right direction. Similarly, a third insertion hole 91 penetrating in the left-right direction is provided at the tip of the second arm portion 94. The upper end of the second arm portion 94 is bent towards the first arm portion 92. This allows the hinge portion 105 to be formed small in the display / operation panel 12.

[0068] A hexagonal bolt 102 is inserted through the first insertion hole 85, the second insertion hole 93, and the third insertion hole 91. The hexagonal bolt 102 includes a rod-shaped portion 101 having a thread groove, and a head portion 103 that corresponds to a screw head. In this embodiment, the head portion 103 has a hexagonal shape in a plan view of the head portion 103. The head 103 is disposed on the outside of a plane located on the opposite side of the substrate holding part 82 in the first arm part 92 . The upright portion 84 of the substrate holding portion 82 and the first arm portion 92 provided on the mounting portion 90 are connected to each other and journaled to each other by a hexagonal bolt 102 .

[0069] A spacer 104 is passed through the hexagonal bolt 102. The spacer 104 is a tubular member having a predetermined length dimension through which the hexagonal bolt 102 can be inserted. The spacer 104 is disposed between the first arm portion 92 and the standing portion 84. As a result, the first arm portion 92 and the standing portion 84 are disposed at a predetermined interval in the left-right direction.

[0070] A fitting member 106 is passed through the hexagonal bolt 102. The fitting member 106 is a member formed in a plate shape. A screw hole 107 is provided in the fitting member 106, penetrating the fitting member 106 in the plate thickness direction. A screw groove is provided in the screw hole 107. The fitting member 106 is screwed onto the hexagonal bolt 102 by passing the hexagonal bolt 102 through and fitting into the screw hole 107. In this way, the board holding portion 82 and the mounting portion 90 are fastened to each other. The fitting member 106 is disposed between the upright portion 84 and the second arm portion 94 .

[0071] A flat washer 111 and a disc spring 113 are passed through the hexagonal bolt 102. The flat washer 111 and the disc spring 113 are disposed between the upright portion 84 and the fitting member 106.

[0072] When the hexagonal bolt 102 is tightened in the hinge portion 105, the fitting member 106 moves in the left-right direction so as to approach the head 103. In this case, the flat washer 111 and the disc spring 113 are sandwiched between the standing portion 84 and the fitting member 106. The flat washer 111 and the disc spring 113 are then pressed against the standing portion 84 and the fitting member 106 by the biasing force and restoring force of the disc spring 113. As a result, sliding friction occurs at the contact points between the flat washer 111 and the disc spring 113 and the standing portion 84 and the fitting member 106. Therefore, due to this sliding friction, the display / operation panel 12 can maintain a state in which it forms any angle with respect to the device case 10 within the rotatable range.

[0073] In this way, in the display / operation panel 12 of the present embodiment, the operating load of the hinge portion 105 can be adjusted by the screw tightening torque of the hexagonal bolt 102. Therefore, in the display / operation panel 12, it is possible to generate a high torque in the hinge portion 105. Furthermore, even if the hexagonal bolt 102 becomes worn, the display / operation panel 12 can be easily disassembled and replaced. Furthermore, each of the flat washer 111, the disc spring 113, the standing portion 84, and the fitting member 106 can be made of metal. By making these members out of metal, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of creep and the like in the hinge portion 105, which leads to a decrease in sliding friction.

[0074] It should be noted that the flat washer 111 may be omitted. For example, the hinge portion 105 is not limited to the disc spring 113, and may use any biasing member such as a coil spring, as long as it can bias the hexagonal bolt 102 along the longitudinal direction. For example, the hinge portion 105 is not limited to the biasing member, and may use other members such as a spacer, which are pressed against the upright portion 84 and the fitting member 106 to generate sliding friction. The flat washer 111 and the disc spring 113 correspond to the "pressure contact portion."

[0075] 15 and 16, in first arm portion 92, a rotation suppressing portion 117 is provided on the outer side of a plane located opposite substrate holding portion 82. Rotation suppressing portion 117 is a member formed in a plate shape. Rotation suppressing portion 117 is provided with a long hole 115 penetrating through rotation suppressing portion 117 in the plate thickness direction. Rotation suppressing portion 117 is fixed to first arm portion 92 by a screw 116 inserted through long hole 115.

[0076] 15, 16, and 17, rotation suppressing portion 117 is provided with fitting hole 119 penetrating in the plate thickness direction of rotation suppressing portion 117. Fitting hole 119 is formed in a polygonal star shape in a plan view of rotation suppressing portion 117. In the present embodiment, fitting hole 119 is formed in a dodecagonal shape.

[0077] The head 103 is inserted into the fitting hole 119. This prevents the hexagonal bolt 102 from loosening in the printing device 1. Furthermore, the fitting hole 119 has more corners than the head 103. In addition, the rotation suppressing part 117 is fixed to the first arm part 92 via this long hole 115. Therefore, in the printing device 1, the rotation suppressing part 117 can be disposed at a position where the head 103 can be inserted into the fitting hole 119 according to the arrangement of the head 103.

[0078] In this way, by providing the rotation suppression unit 117, the hexagonal bolt 102 is prevented from loosening in the display / operation panel 12. Therefore, in the printing device 1, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the operating load of the display / operation panel 12 caused by the hexagonal bolt 102 loosening. As described above, in this embodiment, the rotation suppressing portion 117 is provided with a dodecagonal fitting hole 119 for the hexagonal bolt 102. This makes it possible to align the rotation suppressing portion 117 with the hexagonal bolt 102 in 30 degree increments. This makes it possible to shorten the length dimension of the arc-shaped slot 115 in the printing device 1, and therefore makes it possible to form the hinge portion 105 small. In the printing device of this embodiment, a hexagonal bolt 102 is used, and the fitting hole 119 is formed in a dodecagonal shape, which is an example of a polygonal star shape, but the present invention is not limited to this, and other combinations of shapes may be used.

[0079] Here, the reinforcing structure of the hinge portion 105 will be described. 18 , in each of the standing portions 84 located in the left-right direction, a notch 87 is provided at an end portion that overlaps with the first insertion hole 85 in a plan view of the display / operation panel 12. By providing this notch 87, an edge portion 89 of the notch 87 is provided in the standing portion 84. The edge portion 89 extends in the thickness direction of the operation board 80.

[0080] Fig. 18 is a plan view of the hinge portion 105 when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree position. In Fig. 18, the fitting member 106 is omitted. As shown in FIG. 16, the first arm portion 92 is provided with an engagement recess 95 formed by being cut out downward at a position overlapping with the second insertion hole 93 in a plan view. 18, an extension 98 extending toward the cutout 87 is provided at the tip of the first arm 92. Protrusions 99 are provided on the extension 98 at positions overlapping with the upright portions 84 located in the left-right direction in a plan view. The protrusions 99 protrude forward from the extension 98 by a predetermined length.

[0081] The second arm portion 94 is provided with a plurality of engagement recesses 97 formed by cutting out downward at positions overlapping with the third insertion holes 91 in a plan view.

[0082] Fig. 19 is a plan view of the hinge portion 105 when the display / operation panel 12 is in the 0 degree position. In Fig. 19, the fitting members 106 are not omitted. The engaging member 106 is provided with an engaging piece 130. As shown in FIG. 17, the engaging piece 130 is formed integrally with the engaging member 106. As shown in FIG. 19, the engaging piece 130 is disposed at a position overlapping with each of the upright portions 84 located in the left-right direction in a plan view, and is disposed at approximately the same position as the upper ends of the first arm portion 92 and the second arm portion 94. The engaging piece 130 includes a plurality of engaging pieces 131. Each of the engaging pieces 131 engages with the engaging recess 95, the engaging recess 97, and the front end of the second arm portion 94.

[0083] When a load is applied to the display / operation panel 12 so that the flat portion 61 forms an angle of 90 degrees or more with respect to the front surface of the printing device 1, the edge portion 89 abuts against the engagement piece portion 130 and the protrusion portion 99. The engagement piece portion 130 engages with the first arm portion 92 and the second arm portion 94 as described above. As a result, the load described above is dispersed and transmitted to the attachment portion 90 via the edge portion 89 and the engagement piece portion 130. Therefore, even if a force is applied to the display / operation panel 12 to rotate it outside its rotation range, damage to the hinge portion 105 is suppressed. The engagement piece portion 130 corresponds to the "contact portion."

[0084] The above embodiment is merely a specific example of the application of the present invention. The present invention is not limited to the configuration of the above embodiment, and can be embodied in various forms without departing from the gist of the invention.

[0085] Fig. 20 is a front view of the printing device 1 according to the modified example. Fig. 21 is a rear view of the printing device 1 according to the modified example. Fig. 22 is a right side view of the printing device 1 according to the modified example. The left side view, plan view, and bottom view of the printing device 1 are omitted because they are similar to Figs. 4, 6, and 7. As shown in FIGS. 20 to 22, the printer 1 may be configured so that the step provided on the top surface of the device case 10 is smaller.

[0086] In the embodiment described above, the printing device 1 is provided with the fitting member 106. However, this is not limiting, and the printing device 1 may be provided with a nut instead of the fitting member 106. In this case, the nut may be disposed at a position closer to the operation board 80 than the second arm portion 94.

[0087] Also, for example, the third insertion hole 91 may be a screw hole. In this case, the fitting member 106 can be omitted. Also, for example, the second arm portion 94 may be omitted.

[0088] In the above-described embodiment, the attachment portion 90 is provided on the frame 4. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the attachment portion 90 may be provided on the exterior panel 9.

[0089] Also, for example, the second arm portion 94 may be omitted.

[0090] Furthermore, for example, on the left side surface of the printing device 1, other devices such as a peeler that performs a process of peeling the label from the mount, a cutter unit 110, etc. may be provided.

[0091] In the above-described embodiment, a label printer has been exemplified as the printing device 1. However, the printing device 1 is not limited to a label printer. The printing device 1 may be any device that includes a transport device that transports a print medium and a printing unit 22 that prints on the print medium. For example, the printing device 1 may be a large format printer, a textile printing machine, or the like.

[0092] In the above embodiment, a line head type print head 42 is exemplified, but this is not limiting and a serial head type may also be used. Furthermore, the printing method of the print head 42 is not limited to the inkjet type.

[0093] Unless otherwise specified, the horizontal, vertical and other directions and various shapes in the above-described embodiments include a so-called equivalent range in which the same action and effect is achieved as those directions and shapes.
