Description

[Technical field]

[0001]

[0001] The present invention relates generally to the field of metallic containers. The present invention relates specifically to metallic shot cups. Typical shot cups are often made from plastic and are designed to hold liquids. However, plastic shot cups are designed to be disposable. The production of such plastic cups can have a negative impact on the environment, not only because it produces carbon dioxide emissions, but also because a large portion of the plastic cups may end up in landfills, contributing to the pollution of the environment. Furthermore, some plastic cups are produced with chemicals (e.g., BPA) that can have a negative impact on the health of people who drink from the cups. Given the negative environmental and health impacts associated with disposable plastic cups, metal would be a more desirable material for manufacturing reusable shot cups. [Background technology]

[0002]

[0002] Furthermore, it is not just the use of metal that is important, but the selection of the metal and the modification to a particular configuration from a typical plastic container are also important. In particular, the container must be constructed to allow for rapid and economical manufacture, constructed to allow for close packing for shipping, and constructed to contain a similar volume and / or have a volumetric designation related to the typical volume of liquid in a shot cup. In addition to selecting a particular metal and configuration, the selection of the container coating is also important as it affects the manufacturability of the container, the handling of the container, and the effect of the container on the liquid contained therein. Summary of the Invention
