Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a hair dye composition. [Background technology]
[0002] For hair dyeing, oxidation hair dyes that dye hair by oxidation reaction in the coexistence of an alkaline agent and an oxidizing agent are widely used. However, while these oxidation hair dyes have excellent dyeing effects and can dye hair to a desired color, they may cause damage to hair and scalp. In contrast, hair dyes using basic dyes or HC dyes are known as treatments that cause less damage to hair and the scalp. Among these hair dyes using basic dyes or HC dyes, color treatments are known as hair dyes that can dye hair at the same time as the treatment, are easy to use, and have excellent dyeing uniformity. As an example of a color treatment, Patent Document 1 discloses a hair dye composition containing: (A): at least one dye selected from Basic Blue 75, etc.; (B): at least one dye selected from Basic Brown 16, etc.; (C): at least one dye selected from N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-nitro-p-phenylenediamine, etc.; (D): at least one dye selected from HC Blue No. 2, etc.; and (E): at least one dye selected from HC Yellow No. 4, etc. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2019-64959 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] Color treatments for dyeing gray hair often contain HC Blue 2 or HC Blue 12 to improve dyeability on gray hair. However, when color treatments containing HC Blue 2 or HC Blue 12 are stored at relatively high temperatures (e.g., 30°C or higher, particularly 40°C or higher), the pH of the color treatment may decrease. Therefore, there is a demand for color treatments that are less likely to experience a decrease in pH even when stored at relatively high temperatures. In addition, there is a demand for color treatments that are easy to run your fingers through when rinsing.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a hair dye composition which has a gray hair concealing effect, feels good to the touch when rinsed off, and is resistant to a decrease in pH even when stored at a relatively high temperature. [Means for solving the problem]

[0007] According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a hair dye composition which has a gray hair concealing effect, feels good to the touch when rinsed off, and is resistant to a decrease in pH even when stored at a relatively high temperature. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0008] [Hair dye composition] The hair dye composition of the present invention contains at least one dye (component A) selected from the group consisting of HC Blue 2 and HC Blue 12, urea (component B) and a cationic surfactant (component C), and the mass ratio of component A to component B (A / B) is less than 2.
[0009] The present inventors have investigated the pH stability of hair dye compositions containing HC Blue 2 and / or HC Blue 12, and have found that combining HC Blue 2 and / or HC Blue 12 (component A) with urea (component B) improves the pH stability of the hair dye composition, specifically, that the pH of the hair dye composition is less likely to decrease even when stored at a relatively high temperature of, for example, 30° C. or higher, particularly 40° C. or higher. The present inventors have further investigated the combination of component A and component B, and have found that when the mass ratio (A / B) of component A to component B is less than 2, a hair dye composition is obtained that is less likely to decrease in pH, even when stored at a relatively high temperature of 30° C. or higher, particularly 40° C. or higher, compared to when stored before storage or at a low temperature of about 5° C. The reason why the pH of the hair dye composition is less likely to decrease by combining component A and component B in a specific ratio is not clear, but the following reasons are presumed. One of the reasons why the pH of a hair dye composition containing component A decreases when stored at a relatively high temperature is that the chemical structure of the dye of component A changes over time, which acts to decrease the pH of the hair dye composition. On the other hand, when a hair dye composition containing component B is stored at a relatively high temperature, component B may act to increase the pH of the hair dye composition. Therefore, by combining component A, which decreases the pH of the hair dye composition over time, with component B, which increases the pH of the hair dye composition over time, in a specific ratio, it is considered that the pH of the hair dye composition is unlikely to decrease even when stored at a relatively high temperature. Hereinafter, in this specification, the fact that the pH is unlikely to decrease even when stored at a relatively high temperature may be described as "high pH stability when stored at high temperatures" or simply "high pH stability".
[0010] On the other hand, if the mass ratio (A / B) of component A to component B is 2 or more, the gray hair concealing effect and pH stability during high-temperature storage are likely to decrease.
[0011] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio (A / B) of component A to component B is preferably 1.5 or less, more preferably 1 or less, even more preferably 0.8 or less, and particularly preferably 0.6 or less. The mass ratio (A / B) of component A to component B is preferably 0.1 or more, more preferably 0.15 or more, even more preferably 0.18 or more, and particularly preferably 0.2 or more. When the mass ratio (A / B) is equal to or less than the upper limit, the pH stability during high-temperature storage is likely to be improved. When the mass ratio (A / B) is equal to or more than the lower limit, the stability of the formulation during high-temperature storage is likely to be improved.
[0012] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio (A / B) of component A to component B is preferably 0.1 or more and less than 2, more preferably 0.15 to 1.5, even more preferably 0.18 to 1, particularly preferably 0.18 to 0.8, and particularly preferably 0.2 to 0.6. When the mass ratio (A / B) is within the above range, the pH stability and the stability of the formulation during high-temperature storage are likely to be improved.
[0013] <Component A> Component A is at least one dye selected from the group consisting of HC Blue 2 and HC Blue 12. Component B may be either HC Blue 2 or HC Blue 12, or both HC Blue 2 and HC Blue 12. HC Blue 2 is a compound represented by the INCI name (International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook, 15th Edition, Vol. 1, 2014, p. 1449): HC BLUE NO. 2, and HC Blue 12 is a compound represented by the INCI name: HC Blue No. 12. By including component A, the saturation does not become too high, and it is easy to enhance the gray hair concealing effect.
[0014] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of component A is preferably 0.01% by mass or more, more preferably 0.05% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.08% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 0.1% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. The content of component A is preferably 1.0% by mass or less, more preferably 0.5% by mass or less, even more preferably 0.3% by mass or less, and particularly preferably 0.2% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of component A is equal to or more than the above lower limit, it is easy to improve the dyeability and gray hair hiding effect on hair. When the content of component A is equal to or less than the above upper limit, it is easy to improve the pH stability and dyeing stability, and it is easy to suppress the color transfer to towels, clothes, etc. caused by the dye dissolved in water after washing with water.
[0015] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of Component A is preferably 0.01 to 1.0 mass%, more preferably 0.05 to 1 mass%, even more preferably 0.05 to 0.5 mass%, even more preferably 0.08 to 0.3 mass%, and particularly preferably 0.1 to 0.2 mass%. When the content of Component A is within the above range, it is easy to improve the dyeability of hair, gray hair hiding effect, dye stability, and pH stability, and it is easy to suppress color transfer to towels, clothes, etc. due to the dye dissolved in water after rinsing.
[0016] <Component B> The hair dye composition of the present invention contains urea as component B. As described above, the hair dye composition of the present invention is less likely to experience a decrease in pH even when stored at a relatively high temperature because it contains component B. In addition, by containing component B, the squeaky feeling during rinsing can be reduced, improving the ease of running fingers through the hair.
[0017] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of component B (urea) is preferably 0.01% by mass or more, more preferably 0.05% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.1% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. The content of component B is preferably 10% by mass or less, more preferably 5% by mass or less, and even more preferably 2% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of component B is equal to or more than the above lower limit, the pH stability and the finger combability during water rinsing are easily improved. When the content of component B is equal to or less than the above upper limit, the stability of the hair dye composition is easily improved.
[0018] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of Component B is preferably 0.01 to 10 mass%, more preferably 0.05 to 5 mass%, and even more preferably 0.1 to 2 mass%, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition, from the viewpoint of improving pH stability.
[0019] <Component C> Component C is a cationic surfactant. The inclusion of the cationic surfactant can enhance the stability of the hair dye composition, and can also reduce the squeaky feeling caused by the hair dye composition when rinsing with water, improving the ease of running fingers through the hair.
[0020] The cationic surfactant is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include monoalkyl quaternary ammonium salts, dialkyl quaternary ammonium salts, trialkyl quaternary ammonium salts, monoalkyl ether quaternary ammonium salts, alkylamines, and fatty acid amidoamines. These cationic surfactants can be used alone or in combination of two or more. Among these cationic surfactants, from the viewpoint of treatment effect, monoalkyl quaternary ammonium salts, dialkyl quaternary ammonium salts, and fatty acid amidoamines are preferred, and monoalkyl quaternary ammonium salts and fatty acid amidoamines are more preferred.
[0021] Examples of monoalkyl quaternary ammonium salts include lauryl trimethyl ammonium chloride, myristyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, cetyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, stearyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, behenyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, alkyl (16,18) trimethyl ammonium chloride, alkyl (20-22) trimethyl ammonium chloride, stearyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, myristyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium chloride, tri(polyoxyethylene) stearyl ammonium chloride, di(polyoxyethylene) oleyl methyl ammonium chloride, etc. Among these, stearyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, behenyl trimethyl ammonium chloride, alkyl (16,18) trimethyl ammonium chloride, and alkyl (20-22) trimethyl ammonium chloride are preferred, and behenyl trimethyl ammonium chloride is more preferred.
[0022] Examples of the fatty acid amidoamine include myristic acid dimethylaminoethylamide, myristic acid dimethylaminopropylamide, myristic acid diethylaminoethylamide, myristic acid diethylaminopropylamide, palmitic acid dimethylaminoethylamide, palmitic acid dimethylaminopropylamide, palmitic acid diethylaminoethylamide, palmitic acid diethylaminopropylamide, stearic acid dimethylaminoethylamide, stearic acid dimethylaminopropylamide, stearic acid diethylaminoethylamide, stearic acid diethylaminopropylamide, stearic acid dipropylaminoethylamide, stearic acid dipropylaminopropylamide, behenic acid dimethylaminoethylamide, behenic acid dimethylaminopropylamide, behenic acid diethylaminoethylamide, behenic acid diethylaminopropylamide, etc. Among these, stearic acid dimethylaminopropylamide is preferred.
[0023] The fatty acid amidoamine is preferably used as a salt with an organic acid and / or an inorganic acid. The organic acid may be lactic acid, malic acid, citric acid, tartaric acid, acetic acid, etc. The inorganic acid may be phosphoric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. Among them, lactic acid is preferred. The content of the organic acid and inorganic acid is not particularly limited as long as it is an amount that can neutralize the fatty acid amidoamine to be blended.
[0024] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of component C is preferably 0.01% by mass or more, more preferably 0.1% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.5% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 1.0% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. The content of component C is preferably 5.0% by mass or less, more preferably 4.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 3.0% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of component C is the above-mentioned lower limit or more, it is easy to improve the finger-combing property during water rinsing.
[0025] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of Component C is preferably 0.01 to 5.0 mass%, more preferably 0.1 to 5.0 mass%, even more preferably 0.5 to 4.0 mass%, and particularly preferably 1.0 to 3.0 mass%, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition, from the viewpoint of easily improving finger-combability during rinsing with water.
[0026] <Component D> In one embodiment of the present invention, the hair dye composition of the present invention preferably further contains HC Blue 16 as Component D. Component A is HC Blue 16, a compound with the INCI name HC BLUE NO. 16. Since the color tone of Component D has high chroma, when Component D is contained as a blue dye in addition to Component A, it is easy to improve the dyeability of hair and the effect of hiding gray hair. Component D can also be a commercially available product. An example of a commercially available product of Component A is the product name "HC Blue No. 16" manufactured by Artec Chemical Co., Ltd.
[0027] According to the present inventors, it has been found that the following effects can be further obtained by further including Component D. The hair dye composition of the present invention can suppress changes in color tone due to continuous use by further containing component D. Therefore, when the hair dye composition of the present invention is a color treatment for dyeing gray hair, continuous use about two or three times a week not only makes gray hair less noticeable, but also allows hair to be dyed in the same color tone with continuous or continuous use. In general, many HC dyes and basic dyes are prone to change in chemical structure and dyed hair color over time. When a hair dye composition is stored at a low temperature of about 5°C, the dye hardly changes before and after storage, but when the hair dye composition is stored at a relatively high temperature (for example, 30°C or higher, particularly 40°C or higher), the HC dye or basic dye contained in the hair dye composition is prone to change over time. Therefore, there is a difference in dyeing results between the hair dye composition before storage or the hair dye composition stored at a low temperature and the hair dye composition stored at a relatively high temperature, and the desired dyeing results may not be obtained. However, surprisingly, the present inventors have found that by containing a dye of component D in addition to the dye of component A, discoloration of dyed hair can be suppressed even when the hair dye composition is stored at a relatively high temperature. Therefore, when the hair dye composition of the present invention further contains component D, the difference in dyeing results between the hair dye composition stored at a relatively high temperature and the hair dye composition stored at a low temperature can be reduced. In other words, the hair dye composition of the present invention has high dyeing stability even when stored at a relatively high temperature when it further contains component D. Hereinafter, in this specification, a small difference in dyeing results between when stored at a relatively high temperature and when stored at a relatively low temperature may be described as "having high dyeing stability when stored at a high temperature" or simply "having high dyeing stability." In this specification, the dyeing result refers to the color and tone of dyed hair. Therefore, the small difference in the dyeing result refers to the small difference in the color and tone of dyed hair. In addition, in this specification, the suppression of color tone change due to continuous use refers to the fact that the same dyeing result is likely to be obtained every time the product is used continuously.
[0028] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of component D is preferably 0.1% by mass or more, more preferably 0.15% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.2% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 0.25% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. The content of component D is preferably 1.0% by mass or less, more preferably 0.8% by mass or less, even more preferably 0.6% by mass or less, and particularly preferably 0.5% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of component D is above the above lower limit, the dyeability of hair, especially the effect of dyeing gray hair, is easily improved, the dyeing stability during high-temperature storage is easily improved, and the change in color tone due to continuous use is easily suppressed. When the content of component D is below the above upper limit, the effect of suppressing skin dyeing is easily improved, and the color transfer to towels, clothes, etc. due to the dye dissolved in water after washing with water is easily suppressed.
[0029] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of Component D is preferably 0.1 to 1.0% by mass, more preferably 0.15 to 0.8% by mass, further preferably 0.2 to 0.6% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.25 to 0.5% by mass, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of Component D is within the above range, the effect of hiding gray hair, dyeing stability, and the effect of suppressing skin dyeing are likely to be improved, and changes in color tone due to continuous use and color transfer to towels, clothes, etc. due to the dye dissolved in water after rinsing are likely to be suppressed.
[0030] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio (D / A) of component D to component A is preferably 0.8 or more, more preferably 1 or more, even more preferably more than 1, even more preferably 1.2 or more, particularly preferably 1.5 or more, particularly preferably 1.8 or more, particularly more preferably 2 or more, and preferably 20 or less, more preferably 10 or less, even more preferably 5 or less, and particularly preferably 3 or less. When the mass ratio (D / A) of component D to component A is equal to or more than the above lower limit, it is easy to improve the dyeability, gray hair concealing effect, pH stability and dyeing stability, and it is easy to suppress the change in color tone due to continuous use. When the mass ratio (D / A) is equal to or more than the above lower limit, it is considered that a hair dye composition having higher dyeability and gray hair concealing effect can be obtained because component D is a dye with higher dyeability than component A. The reason why the change in color tone due to continuous use can be suppressed is not clear, but it is considered that it is because it is easy to maintain the overall color balance by setting the content of component B, which tends to become lighter over time, to a specific ratio or less relative to component A, which has relatively little change in dyeability. The reason why dye stability can be improved is unclear, but it is thought that this is because Component A is a dye whose chemical structure and dyed hair color are less likely to change over time, even when stored at relatively high temperatures compared to Component B.
[0031] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio of component D to component A (D / A) is preferably It is 0.8 to 20, more preferably 1 to 20, even more preferably greater than 1 and equal to or less than 20, even more preferably 1.2 to 20, particularly preferably 1.5 to 10, especially preferably 1.8 to 5, and especially preferably 2 to 3. When the mass ratio (D / A) is within the above range, it is easy to improve the dyeability, gray hair concealing effect, pH stability, and dye stability, and it is easy to suppress changes in color tone due to continuous use.
[0032] In one embodiment of the present invention, the total content of component A and component B may be, for example, 0.11 to 2.0% by mass based on the total amount of the hair dye composition, but from the viewpoint of efficiently obtaining a gray hair dyeing effect with a small amount of dye, it is preferably 1.0% by mass or less, more preferably 0.9% by mass or less, even more preferably 0.8% by mass or less, even more preferably less than 0.6% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.55% by mass or less. In one embodiment of the present invention, the total content of component A and component D may be preferably 0.11 to 1.0% by mass, more preferably 0.15 to 0.9% by mass, even more preferably 0.15 to 0.8% by mass, even more preferably 0.2% by mass or more and less than 0.6% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.2 to 0.55% by mass based on the total amount of the hair dye composition.
[0033] <Component E> In one embodiment of the present invention, from the viewpoint of achieving a color tone that enhances the gray hair hiding effect, it is preferable that the hair dye composition of the present invention further contains, as Component E, at least one dye selected from the group consisting of Basic Red 76, Basic Yellow 57, Basic Red 51, Basic Yellow 87, Basic Orange 31 and Basic Brown 17.
[0034] Basic Red 76 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Red 76. Basic Yellow 57 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Yellow 57. Basic Red 51 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Red 51. Basic Yellow 87 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Orange 31 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Orange 31. Basic Brown 17 is the compound designated by the INCI name Basic Brown 17.
[0035] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of component E is preferably 0.01% by mass or more, more preferably 0.05% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.1% by mass or more, and particularly preferably 0.15% by mass or more, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. Also, the content of component E is preferably 0.8% by mass or less, more preferably 0.6% by mass or less, even more preferably 0.5% by mass or less, and particularly preferably 0.3% by mass or less, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of component E is the above lower limit or more, the dye fastness is easily improved. When the content of component E is the above upper limit or less, the skin dyeing is easily suppressed, the color tone change after storage is suppressed, and the dyeing stability is easily improved.
[0036] In one embodiment of the present invention, the content of Component E is preferably 0.01 to 0.8% by mass, more preferably 0.05 to 0.6% by mass, further preferably 0.1 to 0.5% by mass, and particularly preferably 0.15 to 0.3% by mass, based on the total amount of the hair dye composition. When the content of Component E is within the above range, it is easy to improve the dye fastness, easy to suppress skin dyeing, easy to suppress color tone change after storage, and easy to increase the dyeing stability.
[0037] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio (A / E) of component A to component E is preferably 0.1 or more, more preferably 0.2 or more, even more preferably 0.3 or more, and particularly preferably 0.4 or more. The mass ratio (A / E) is preferably 1 or less, more preferably 0.9 or less, even more preferably 0.8 or less, and particularly preferably 0.6 or less.
[0038] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio of component A to component E (A / E) is preferably 0.1 to 1, more preferably 0.2 to 0.9, further preferably 0.3 to 0.8, and particularly preferably 0.4 to 0.6.
[0039] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio (D / E) of component D to component E is preferably 0.5 or more, more preferably 0.8 or more, even more preferably 1 or more, and particularly preferably 1.2 or more. [0040] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio of component D to component E (D / E) is preferably 0.5-5, more preferably 0.8-4, further preferably 1-3, and particularly preferably 1.2-2.
[0041] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio of the total amount of components A and D to component E [(A+D) / E] is preferably 0.5 or more, more preferably 0.8 or more, even more preferably 1 or more, and particularly preferably 1.1 or more. Moreover, the mass ratio (B / [A+D+E]) is preferably 2 or less, more preferably 1.5 or less, and even more preferably 1 or less, from the viewpoint of further improving pH stability.
[0044] In one embodiment of the present invention, the mass ratio of component B to the total amount of components A, D and E (B / [A+D+E]) is preferably 0.1 to 2, more preferably 0.2 to 1.5, and even more preferably 0.3 to 1, from the viewpoint of enhancing pH stability.

Specifically, the hair dye composition can be produced by the following method in which the aqueous phase is added to the oil phase to emulsify. For example, the aqueous phase heated to 70 to 90°C is gradually added to the oil phase that has been sufficiently dissolved by heating to 70 to 90°C, and emulsified by thoroughly stirring for 5 minutes. After emulsification, the mixture is cooled to 20 to 40°C and thoroughly and uniformly stirred, and then additives such as urea and pH adjusters previously dissolved in water are added, and the mixture is thoroughly and uniformly stirred to obtain a cream-like hair dye composition. EXAMPLES
[0069] The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the following examples, but the present invention is not limited to these examples.
[0070] Example 1 The hair dye composition was prepared by mixing the components in the ratio shown in Table 1. Specifically, the oil phase components were uniformly heated to 80°C, and the aqueous phase in which the dye and other ingredients were heated to 80°C and dissolved was added to the oil phase, which was then uniformly emulsified and cooled to 40°C. Additives were then added to obtain a cream-like hair dye composition. Sodium hydroxide was added in an amount such that the pH of the hair dye composition at 25°C would be 6.8.
[0071] [Examples 2 to 10 and Comparative Examples 1 to 3] According to the compositions shown in Tables 1 and 2, hair dye compositions were prepared in the same manner as in Example 1.
[0072] [Stainability] An untreated white human hair bundle (manufactured by Beaulax Co., Ltd., length 10 cm, weight 1 g) was used as the test hair bundle. The hair bundle for testing was washed with a commercially available shampoo, and then lightly drained. After that, 5 g of each hair dye composition obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples immediately after production was applied to the hair bundle for testing, and the composition was applied to the entire hair bundle (hair) using a brush for 1 minute. After leaving the hair bundle for 5 minutes, the hair dye composition was thoroughly washed off from the hair bundle using lukewarm water at 40°C, and the hair bundle was thoroughly dried using a towel, and then thoroughly dried using a dryer to prepare the hair bundle for evaluation. The obtained evaluation hair bundles were observed, and the dyeability was evaluated by seven expert evaluators according to the following criteria. The average evaluation results of the seven expert evaluators are shown in Tables 1 and 2. (Evaluation criteria for dyeability) 5: Very darkly stained. 4: Well stained. 3: Dyed (standard) 2: Slightly stained 1: Light staining
[0073] [Feels good when rinsing] The same hair dyeing treatment as described in [Dyeability] (treatment from washing with shampoo to drying) was carried out, and the smoothness of running fingers through the hair when rinsing the hair dye composition from the strand was evaluated by seven expert evaluators according to the following criteria. The average evaluation results of the seven expert evaluators are shown in Tables 1 and 2. (Evaluation standard for smoothness of the hair) 5: Feels very smooth to the touch. 4: Feels smooth on the skin 3: Not very smooth to the touch 2: It's hard to run your fingers through 1: The hair feels very rough to the touch.
[0074] [Hides gray hair] A test hair bundle containing 30% untreated gray hair (manufactured by Beaulax Co., Ltd., length 10 cm, weight 1 g) was used, and the gray hair concealing effect was evaluated as follows. Immediately after production, 5 g of each hair dye composition obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples was applied to the test hair bundle, and the hair bundle (hair) was brushed for 1 minute. After leaving the hair bundle for 5 minutes, the hair dye composition was thoroughly washed off from the hair bundle with lukewarm water at 40°C, towel-dried, and then thoroughly dried with a hair dryer to prepare a hair bundle for evaluation. The obtained hair bundle for evaluation was observed with the naked eye and evaluated for gray hair concealing effect by seven expert evaluators according to the following criteria. The average scores of the evaluation results by the seven expert evaluators are shown in Tables 1 and 2. <Evaluation criteria for gray hair concealing effect> 5: Grey hair is less noticeable 4: Gray hair is slightly noticeable 3: Gray hair is noticeable 2: Gray hair is not dyed very much 1: Gray hair is not dyed
[0075] [Stability (pH)] 30 g of each of the hair dye compositions obtained in the Examples and Comparative Examples was placed in a 200 mL polyethylene bottle with a cap and stored in a thermostatic chamber at 50° C. for 4 weeks to obtain hair dye compositions stored at 50° C. for 4 weeks. Similarly, hair dye compositions stored at 5° C. for 4 weeks were obtained. The pH at 25°C of the hair dye compositions stored at 50°C for 4 weeks and the hair dye compositions stored at 5°C for 4 weeks was measured using a pH meter (manufactured by Horiba Advanced Techno Co., Ltd., product name "Desktop pH Meter F-71"). Generally, 5°C is a temperature at which the pH of a hair dye composition is unlikely to decrease, and 50°C is a temperature at which the pH of a hair dye composition is likely to decrease. Therefore, the difference between the pH of a hair dye composition stored at 5°C for 4 weeks and the pH of a hair dye composition stored at 50°C for 4 weeks (ΔpH=[pH of a hair dye composition stored at 5°C for 4 weeks]-[pH of a hair dye composition stored at 50°C for 4 weeks]) was calculated, and the pH stability during high-temperature storage was evaluated according to the following criteria. The results are shown in Tables 1 and 2. (Evaluation criteria for pH stability) 5: ΔpH<0.2 4: 0.2≦ΔpH<0.4 3: 0.4≦ΔpH<0.6 2: 0.6≦ΔpH<0.8 1: ΔpH ≧ 0.8
[0076] [Table 1]
[0077] [Table 2]
[0078] The numerical values shown in the columns for each component in the table indicate the content of each component, and the unit is mass %. As shown in Tables 1 and 2, the hair dye compositions of the examples had good dyeing properties and gray hair concealing effects, were smooth to the touch when rinsed off, and had high pH stability, with pH drop suppressed even when stored at a high temperature of 50°C.
