Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to an oil-in-water emulsion composition suitable for use in sunscreen cosmetics. [Background technology]
[0002] In order to prevent damage to the skin caused by ultraviolet rays, various UV care cosmetics have been developed. One type of UV care cosmetic is a sunscreen cosmetic (sunscreen, sun protector), which contains ultraviolet absorbing agents, ultraviolet scattering agents, etc., and is intended to protect the skin from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays by blocking ultraviolet rays in sunlight (Non-Patent Document 1). In general, sunscreen cosmetics generally contain ultraviolet absorbing agents and ultraviolet scattering agents as ultraviolet protection agents. In addition, since sunscreen cosmetics are applied over a wide area such as the face and body, they are required to have an excellent feel when used, and oil-in-water emulsion types that provide a fresh and light feel are preferred. [Prior art documents] [Non-patent literature]
[0003] [Non-Patent Document 1] "Cosmetics Encyclopedia", edited by the Japanese Society of Cosmetic Technologists, published by Maruzen Co., Ltd., 2004, pp. 495-496 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] When the UV absorbent contained in a sunscreen cosmetic is in a solid form, there is a problem that it is prone to precipitation over time, and the skin that has been applied with the sunscreen cosmetic may feel dry and squeaky. UV absorbents are widely used in sunscreen cosmetics due to their high UV protection. However, because UV absorbents are oily components with polarity, they have a problem of poor stability when made into an emulsion. In general, formulations are made to improve emulsion stability in the presence of polar oils by blending a large amount of solid components such as surfactants, solid fats, and higher alcohols, but this impairs the feel when applied and makes it difficult to achieve a fresh feeling. In addition, depending on the type of UV absorber, there are cases where administrative regulations restrict the use of such agents as ingredients in cosmetics. For example, oxybenzone, octinoxate (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate), etc. are regulated in parts of the United States. Therefore, the present invention aims to provide a sunscreen cosmetic composition that contains an ultraviolet absorbent stably in an emulsion form and has an excellent feel when used, and also aims to provide excellent ultraviolet protection performance without using an ultraviolet absorbent that may be subject to regulations. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] Means for Solving the Problems The present inventors have conducted intensive research to solve the above problems, and as a result have discovered that the above problems can be solved by an oil-in-water emulsion composition containing (a) polyglyceryl-2 stearate, (b) glyceryl stearate, (c) stearyl alcohol, (d) a water-soluble thickener, and (e) an ultraviolet absorber, thereby completing the present invention.
[0006] That is, the present invention is as follows. [1] An oil-in-water emulsion composition containing the following components (a) to (e): (a) Polyglyceryl-2 Stearate (b) Glyceryl stearate (c) Stearyl alcohol (d) Water-soluble thickener (e) Ultraviolet absorbers [2] The composition according to [1], wherein component (d) is an acrylic acid-based polymer. [3] The composition according to [2], wherein the acrylic acid-based polymer comprises a carboxyvinyl polymer and / or an (acrylates / C10-30 alkyl acrylate) crosspolymer. [4] The composition according to any one of [1] to [3], which is substantially free of one or more selected from ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, oxybenzone-3, and oxybenzone-4. [5] The composition according to any one of [1] to [4], wherein (e) contains one or more selected from polysilicone-15, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and ethylhexyl triazone. [6] The composition according to any one of [1] to [5], containing 5 to 20% by weight of (e) based on the total weight of the composition. [7] The composition according to any one of [1] to [6], which is a sunscreen cosmetic. Effect of the Invention
[0007] The composition of the present invention can stably emulsify the UV absorber by using polyglyceryl-2 stearate, glyceryl stearate, stearyl alcohol, and a water-soluble thickener. The emulsifying ability of these components in the present invention is high, so the amount of surfactant and the amount of solid components such as solid fat and higher alcohol can be reduced, resulting in an emulsion type with a fresh feel when used.In addition, the composition of the present invention is less irritating to the skin when applied, and forms a smooth cosmetic film, so that the feel of the skin after application is not sticky and is smooth. Furthermore, since the composition of the present invention can be stably emulsified even when the content of the ultraviolet absorbing agent is increased, the ultraviolet protection function (SPF) of the composition can be enhanced. Furthermore, the composition of the present invention has excellent emulsion stability even when stored over time and at different temperatures. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0008] The oil-in-water emulsion composition of the present invention contains (a) polyglyceryl-2 stearate, (b) glyceryl stearate, (c) stearyl alcohol, (d) a water-soluble thickener, and (e) an ultraviolet absorber.
[0009] (a) Polyglyceryl-2 stearate can stably emulsify a large amount of an ultraviolet absorber, and therefore indirectly contributes to providing the composition with an excellent feel when used and high ultraviolet protection ability. The content of (a) polyglyceryl-2 stearate in the composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1 to 10 wt %, more preferably 0.5 to 5 wt %, and even more preferably 1 to 3 wt %, of the total composition. By using the compound within such a range, it becomes easier to emulsify the polar oil more stably.
[0010] (b) Glyceryl stearate can stably emulsify a large amount of an ultraviolet absorbing agent, and therefore indirectly contributes to providing the composition with an excellent feel when used and high ultraviolet protection ability. The content of (b) glyceryl stearate in the composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1 to 8 wt %, more preferably 0.3 to 5 wt %, and even more preferably 0.5 to 3 wt %, of the total composition. By using the compound within such a range, it becomes easier to emulsify the polar oil more stably.
[0011] (c) Stearyl alcohol can stably emulsify a large amount of UV absorbents. Therefore, it indirectly contributes to making the composition excellent in feel when used and to achieving high ultraviolet protection performance. The content of (c) stearyl alcohol in the composition of the present invention is preferably 0.1 to 8 wt %, more preferably 0.3 to 5 wt %, and even more preferably 0.5 to 3 wt %, of the total composition. By using the compound within such a range, it becomes easier to emulsify the polar oil more stably.
[0012] (d) The water-soluble thickener is not particularly limited as long as it is one that is commonly used in cosmetics. By adding such a component, the emulsion particles can be stably and uniformly dispersed by imparting viscosity to the aqueous phase, which makes the composition feel excellent when used and indirectly contributes to high UV protection performance. Specific examples of the water-soluble thickener preferably include acrylic acid polymers (e.g., polyacrylic acid or its salts, polyethyl acrylate, polyacrylamide, alkyl acrylate copolymers, carboxyvinyl polymers, etc.) which may have any substituent, and vinyl polymers (e.g., polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl methyl ether, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinylpyrrolidone, vinyl acetate-vinylpyrrolidone copolymers, etc.). Among these, acrylic acid polymers which are polymers / copolymers of acrylic acid monomers are more preferred, and more preferred are those which contain carboxyvinyl polymers and / or (acrylates / alkyl acrylate (C10-30)) crosspolymers.
[0013] The weight average molecular weight of the water-soluble thickener is preferably 2,000 to 20,000, more preferably 3,000 to 10,000, and further preferably 4,000 to 8,000.
[0014] The content of the (d) water-soluble thickener in the composition of the present invention is preferably 0.01 to 5 wt %, more preferably 0.05 to 3 wt %, and even more preferably 0.1 to 1 wt %, of the total composition. By using it within such a range, the emulsion system becomes more stable.
[0015] (e) The ultraviolet absorber may be one that is commonly used in cosmetics, such as a para-aminobenzoic acid-based ultraviolet absorber, an anthranilic acid-based ultraviolet absorber, a salicylic acid-based ultraviolet absorber, a cinnamic acid-based ultraviolet absorber, a benzophenone-based ultraviolet absorber, or a sugar-based ultraviolet absorber. Specific preferred examples of the component (e) include polysilicone-15, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, ethylhexyl triazone, t-butyl methoxydibenzoylmethane, bisethylhexyloxyphenol methoxyphenyl triazine, and the like. It is more preferred to use one or more selected from polysilicone-15, diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate, and ethylhexyl triazone. In addition, since the use of ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate, oxybenzone-3, and oxybenzone-4 may be restricted by administrative regulations, it is preferable that they are not substantially contained in the composition of the present invention. Here, "substantially not contained" means that the content of each of them is preferably 0.01% by weight or less, more preferably 0.001% by weight or less, and even more preferably 0.0001% by weight or less of the entire composition.
[0016] The content of the ultraviolet absorber (e) in the composition of the present invention is preferably 5 to 20% by weight, more preferably 7 to 18% by weight, and further preferably 10 to 15% by weight, of the total composition. By using it within such a range, it becomes easier to obtain the desired ultraviolet protection effect.
[0017] The composition of the present invention is in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion. As long as the water phase is used, there is no particular limitation, and in addition to the O / W type, W / O / W type and (O 1 +O 2 ) / W type, etc.

In addition to water, the aqueous phase component may be any component that dissolves in water at 25 to 90°C. Usually, component (d) is included in the aqueous phase component. Although components (a), (b), and (c) can be dissolved in both the aqueous phase and the oil phase, they may be included in the aqueous phase component for convenience when calculating the internal phase ratio described later. The oil phase component is not limited to oils, but generally includes powders and the like, and may be any component that is suspended in water at 25 to 90°C and allowed to stand for 1 hour, and then phase-separated from water. Usually, component (e) is included in the oil phase component. In the composition of the present invention, the weight ratio of the contents of the aqueous phase component to the oil phase component (internal phase ratio) is not particularly limited, but is preferably 99:1 to 50:50, more preferably 95:5 to 70:40.

[0048] The present invention will be described in more detail below with reference to examples. However, the present invention is not limited to the following examples as long as it does not depart from the gist of the present invention.
[0049] <Production Examples and Evaluation> Using the formulation shown in Table 1, the oil phase components and the aqueous phase components were each heated to 70°C and dissolved, the oil phase was added to the aqueous phase components, and emulsified while stirring with a homomixer to prepare an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic. The obtained cosmetics were evaluated according to the following items and criteria. The results are shown in Table 1.
[0050] (emulsion state) Each cosmetic product was placed in a standard glass bottle and stored in a thermostatic chamber set at 50°C for one month, after which a specialist evaluator rated it on the following four-point scale. ◎: No change in shape 〇: Almost no change in shape △: Creaming is partially observed ×: More than half of the shape is not maintained
[0051] (Freshness when applied) When an appropriate amount of each cosmetic product was applied to the skin, expert evaluators scored whether the skin felt moisturized or not according to the following criteria. 5 points: Feels fresh and moist 4 points: Feels fresh 3 points: Feels slightly fresh 2 points: Almost no moisture 1 point: Not feeling fresh at all The average scores of the 10 evaluators were assigned to the following ratings. ◎: More than 4 points: Very good ○: More than 3 points and 4 points or less: Good △: More than 2 points, 3 points or less: slightly poor × : 2 points or less : Defective
[0052] (Irritation when applied) When an appropriate amount of each cosmetic product was applied to the skin, expert evaluators scored whether or not the skin felt any unpleasant irritation according to the following criteria. 5: No stimulation at all 4: Almost no stimulation 3: Feels slightly irritated 2: I feel stimulated 1: Very irritated The average scores of the 10 evaluators were assigned to the following ratings. ○: More than 3.5 points: Good △: More than 2 points, 3.5 points or less: Fairly good × : 2 points or less : Defective
