Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a mounting structure for an exterior member of a vehicle. [Background technology]
[0002] In vehicles such as automobiles, an outer panel that constitutes the outer surface of the vehicle is used to define the vehicle interior, as in Patent Document 1. The outer panel in Patent Document 1 is overlapped with an inner panel to form a rear gate of the vehicle that is provided so as to be able to open and close the rear opening of the vehicle. The rear gate defines the rear of the luggage compartment or passenger compartment of the vehicle. In the rear gate of the vehicle of Patent Document 2, a pair of left and right tail lamp members are provided on both the left and right sides of the outer panel in line with the outer panel. In Patent Document 2, the pair of left and right tail lamp members are attached to the inner panel of the rear gate. In the vehicle rear gate of Patent Document 3, a garnish member is attached to the upper outer surface of the outer panel. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2018-122722 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2021-154830 A [Patent Document 3] JP 2021-160562 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] Incidentally, when an exterior member such as a garnish member is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel as in Patent Document 3, it becomes possible to provide a design of the vehicle exterior that is not easily realized with the outer panel alone. For example, it becomes possible to provide a design in which the center part of the rear gate in the vertical direction protrudes outward as in Patent Document 3. Such a design can be a desirable design that is not provided by the rear gates of Patent Documents 1 and 2. However, when an exterior member is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel as in Patent Document 3, abnormal noises such as so-called muffled noises may occur due to the attachment. For example, abnormal noises such as so-called muffled noises may occur during idling of the vehicle or when opening and closing the rear gate. Such abnormal noises may be heard by the occupants of the vehicle, causing the occupants to feel uncomfortable. In particular, when an exterior member is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel as in Patent Document 3, the mass of the rear gate may increase partially at the attachment portion of the exterior member, or the exterior member may vibrate on the outer panel, which is expected to cause abnormal noise such as a booming sound.
[0005] In vehicles like this, there is a demand for suppressing the generation of abnormal noise caused by attaching exterior components to the outer surface of the outer panel that constitutes the exterior of the vehicle, thereby making it less likely that such abnormal noise will be heard by vehicle occupants. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] A mounting structure for an exterior member of a vehicle in one embodiment of the present invention is an exterior structure for a vehicle having an outer panel that constitutes the outer surface of the vehicle, and an exterior member that is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel and supported by the outer panel, and in order to mount the exterior member to the outer panel, the structure has a plurality of support portions formed on the outer panel, and a plurality of bead portions formed in overlapping portions of the outer panel where the exterior member attached to the outer panel overlaps, and the plurality of bead portions are interposed between the plurality of support portions in the overlapping portions of the outer panel, and are formed so as to be convex toward the inside of the vehicle. Effect of the Invention
[0007] In the present invention, an exterior member is attached to an outer panel that constitutes the exterior surface of a vehicle, and the exterior member is supported by the outer panel. For this reason, in the present invention, a plurality of support portions for attaching the exterior member to the outer panel are formed in the outer panel. Furthermore, in the present invention, a plurality of bead portions are further formed in an overlapping portion of the outer panel where the exterior member to be attached to the outer panel overlaps. The plurality of bead portions are formed so as to be interposed between the plurality of support portions in the overlapping portion of the outer panel. As a result, even if the outer panel that constitutes the exterior surface of the vehicle is formed in a shape for the vehicle design, the spaces between the plurality of support portions formed in the overlapping portion of the outer panel can be stiffened by the plurality of bead portions. As a result, in the present invention, the mutual distances and relative positions of the multiple support parts formed on the outer panel are unlikely to change even if the exterior member attached to the outer panel vibrates on the outer panel or the mass of the rear gate is partially increased by attaching the exterior member. The outer panel, whose basic shape is determined based on the design of the vehicle, is able to support the exterior member attached thereto by the multiple support parts stiffened by the multiple bead parts so that the exterior member is unlikely to vibrate on the outer panel. Furthermore, in the present invention, instead of forming a single bead portion between the multiple support portions formed in the overlapping portion of the outer panel, multiple bead portions are formed. By forming multiple bead portions, each bead portion can be formed into a desired shape and size without being affected by the size of the overlapping portion of the outer panel, for example, into a shape and size that can be expected to suppress abnormal noise such as so-called booming noise generated in the outer panel to which an exterior member is attached, for example. By forming multiple bead portions in this way, in the present invention, it is expected that abnormal noise such as so-called booming noise that can be generated in the outer panel to which an exterior member is attached due to vibration of the outer panel in accordance with vibration of the exterior member can be attenuated. In this way, the present invention is expected to suppress the generation of abnormal noises such as muffled noises caused by vibrations of the exterior member attached to and supported on the outer panel, and the vibration of the outer panel due to such abnormal noises, etc. It is expected that vehicle occupants will be less likely to hear these abnormal noises generated from the outer panel to which the exterior member is attached.
[0008] Moreover, in the present invention, the exterior member can be attached to the outer panel in a manner that makes it difficult for abnormal noise to occur. Therefore, in the present invention, there is less need to restrict the design of the outer panel and the exterior member in order to suppress the generation of abnormal noise, and it is possible to provide a high degree of freedom in the design of these elements.
[0009] Furthermore, in the present invention, the multiple bead portions formed in the overlapping portion of the outer panel are formed to be convex toward the inside of the vehicle. This prevents the overlapping portion of the outer panel from being unnecessarily convex toward the exterior member attached to the outer surface of the overlapping portion. The multiple bead portions do not impede the attachment of the exterior member to the overlapping portion of the outer panel. [Brief description of the drawings]

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
[0011] Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
[0012] Fig. 1 is a perspective view of an automobile 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention. In Fig. 1, a rear gate 10 of the automobile 1 is closed. FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the rear gate 10 of the automobile 1 of FIG. 1 in an open state. In the drawings from Fig. 1 onwards, the front, rear, left, right, top and bottom directions are shown in a state where the rear gate 10 is closed as in Fig. 1. The width direction of the automobile 1 refers to the left and right direction.
[0013] An automobile 1 in FIG. 1 is an example of a vehicle. The automobile 1 has a vehicle body 2 in which a passenger compartment 3 is defined. The automobile 1 has a plurality of doors 52 for passengers to get in and out of the passenger compartment 3, as well as a rear gate 10 for accessing a luggage compartment at the rear of the passenger compartment 3. The upper edge portion of the rear gate 10 is attached to a roof 51 of the vehicle body 2 by a pair of hinge members 6. The rear gate 10 can be opened and closed relative to a rear opening 4, as shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2. When the rear gate 10 is opened, a rear opening 4 appears in the body 2 of the automobile 1, as shown in FIG. 2. A passenger can put in or take out luggage from the luggage compartment through the rear opening 4. The passenger also pulls down the open rear gate 10. This causes the rear gate 10 to close, as shown in FIG. 1. The rear opening 4 of the body 2 of the automobile 1 is closed. Luggage in the luggage compartment does not fall out through the rear opening 4. Next, a mounting structure for an exterior member of the automobile 1 will be described using an example in which the transverse garnish member 14 is mounted to the rear gate 10. 1 and 2 has a pleasing design that makes extensive use of curved shapes, including the outer surface of the tailgate 10. The tailgate 10 blends in with the other parts of the car 1, giving the car 1 a unified design overall.
[0014] FIG. 3 is a schematic perspective view of the rear gate 10 of FIG. 3, the rear gate 10 has an outer panel 12 that constitutes the outer surface of the rear side of the automobile 1, and an inner panel 11 that is overlapped on the inside of the outer panel 12. In addition, a cross garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12.
[0015] The inner panel 11 and the outer panel 12 are formed into a shape that conforms to the rear opening 4 of the automobile 1 using steel plates with a substantially rectangular outline as illustrated in FIG. 3 so as to be able to close the rear opening 4 of the automobile 1. In particular, the outer panel 12 is exposed to the outer surface of the automobile 1 and constitutes the design of the automobile 1. The inner panel 11 and the outer panel 12 are generally formed into a desired extrusion shape by press working. The outer peripheral edge of the inner panel 11 and the outer peripheral edge of the outer panel 12 may be overlapped and attached to each other with an adhesive. The outer peripheral edge of the outer panel 12 may be folded outside the outer peripheral edge of the inner panel 11, and the folded portion may grip the outer peripheral edge of the inner panel 11. The inner panel 11 and the outer panel 12 overlapped in such a structure can obtain the basic rigidity required for the rear gate 10. The pair of hinge members 6 may basically be attached to the upper edge of the inner panel 11, which is a substantially rectangular steel plate. As a result, when the rear gate 10 is closed, the pair of hinge members 6 can be covered by the outer panel 12 as shown in FIG.
[0016] An opening 13 is formed in the upper part of the rear gate 10 by penetrating the upper part of the inner panel 11, which is formed by extruding a steel plate with a substantially rectangular outline, through the upper part of the outer panel 12. A rear glass 18 is fitted into the opening 13 in the upper part of the rear gate 10, for example, from the outside of the outer panel 12. The inner panel 11 and the outer panel 12 may be overlapped around the periphery of the opening 13 and attached together with an adhesive. The edge of the opening of the outer panel 12 may be folded inside the edge of the opening of the inner panel 11, and the folded part may grip the edge of the opening of the inner panel 11. This makes it possible for the inner panel 11 and the outer panel 12 to obtain a minimum rigidity for maintaining the shape of their upper parts, even if a large opening 13 is formed in their upper parts.
[0017] A plate mounting portion 15 for mounting a substantially rectangular flat license plate is formed at the bottom of the outer panel 12 of the rear gate 10. The plate mounting portion 15 may be formed in a planar shape larger than a plurality of types of license plates so that license plates in a plurality of countries in which the automobile 1 is registered can be mounted, as described later. In addition, the laws and regulations of each country require that the plate mounting portion 15 for mounting the license plate be basically flat in order to ensure the visibility of the license plate. In addition, in some specific countries, the laws and regulations permit license plates having a light-emitting function. In addition, in the future, the plate mounting portion 15 may be fitted with a display member capable of displaying a driving state such as an automatic driving state or a speed by changing the lighting state.
[0018] The plate mounting portion 15 may be formed on the outer panel 12, for example, by extruding the outer panel 12 through a press process. A curved frame portion is formed around the plate mounting portion 15 in this embodiment by extruding the plate mounting portion 15 through a press process. The plate mounting portion 15 is formed on the outer panel 12 in a state recessed toward the front of the automobile 1 compared to the remaining portion of the outer panel 12 other than the plate mounting portion 15. The plate mounting portion 15 can function to stiffen the outer panel 12 by forming a curved frame portion around the plate mounting portion 15. By forming such a plate mounting portion 15, it is expected that the outer panel 12 will be less susceptible to vibration as a whole.
[0019] A transverse garnish member 14 is provided in the vertical center of the outer panel 12 of the tailgate 10 between the opening 13 for the rear glass 18 and the plate attachment portion 15. The transverse garnish member 14 is provided horizontally across the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1 in the vertical center of the outer panel 12. The horizontally elongated transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 is provided between the left and right rear lamp members 19 as shown in FIG. 1, and forms a linear design that is integrated with the left and right rear lamp members 19. The transverse garnish member 14 may be provided with a lighting member 41 that can be turned on in conjunction with the left and right rear lamp members 19, or a lighting member 41 (not shown) for illuminating a license plate attached to the plate attachment portion 15.
[0020] Incidentally, when the transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 in this manner, it becomes possible to provide an exterior design for the automobile 1 that is not easily realized with the outer panel 12 alone. In FIG. 3, the transverse garnish member 14 protrudes rearward from the lower part of the rear gate 10, which is located below the inclined rear glass 18. It is difficult to achieve such a design in a good shape by simply extruding the outer panel 12 by press processing. This type of design is one of the preferable designs for the automobile 1. However, when an exterior member such as the transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12, an abnormal noise such as a so-called muffled sound may occur due to the attachment. For example, when the automobile 1 is idling or when the rear gate 10 is opened or closed, an abnormal noise such as a so-called muffled sound may occur. Such an abnormal noise may be heard by the occupants of the automobile 1, causing the occupants to feel uncomfortable. In particular, when the transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 as shown in Figure 3, the mass of the rear gate 10 may increase partially at the attachment portion of the transverse garnish member 14, or the transverse garnish member 14 may vibrate on the outer panel 12. Furthermore, if the curvature of both left-right side portions of the outer panel 12 is formed so as to be greater than the curvature of the left-right central portion, as shown in Figure 3, the transverse garnish member 14 vibrating on the outer panel 12 is more likely to hit the outer panel 12 in the portion where the curvature changes. For these reasons, it is expected that when an exterior member such as the transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12, abnormal noises such as so-called muffled noises are likely to occur.
[0021] FIG. 4 is a frequency characteristic diagram illustrating the vibration characteristics of an example of the schematic rear gate 10 of FIG. The horizontal axis of Figure 4 is the vibration frequency, and the vertical axis is the volume.
[0022] 4, the outer panel 12 has a natural frequency according to its outer shape, etc. In FIG 4, a first natural frequency F1 and a second natural frequency F2 are shown as the natural frequencies of the outer panel 12. FIG. 4 also shows a third natural frequency F3 as a natural frequency of the inner panel 11. 3, the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 11 are formed to have substantially the same outer shape size. In this case, the first natural frequency F1 of the outer panel 12 and the third natural frequency F3 of the inner panel 11 tend to be close to each other, as shown in FIG.
[0023] When the natural frequency of the outer panel 12 and the natural frequency of the inner panel 11 are close to each other in this manner, the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 11 are likely to resonate with each other. Furthermore, a transverse garnish member 14 as an exterior member is attached to the outer surface of such an outer panel 12. When the transverse garnish member 14 vibrates on the outer panel 12 in a manner that includes a component of a natural frequency that can resonate, abnormal noises such as muffled sounds caused by the vibration of the transverse garnish member 14 tend to be amplified or reverberate due to resonance between the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 11. The amplified abnormal noises or reverberating abnormal noises tend to be audible to the occupants of the automobile 1. Furthermore, the cross garnish member 14 as an exterior member attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 is prone to vibrating when the automobile 1 is idling or when the rear gate 10 is opened or closed.
[0024] In this way, in automobile 1, it is necessary to suppress the generation of abnormal noise caused by attaching transverse garnish member 14 as an exterior member to the outer surface of outer panel 12 that constitutes the exterior of automobile 1, so that the noise is less audible to occupants of automobile 1.
[0025] FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing the structure of the outer panel 12 of the schematic rear gate 10 of FIG. 3, as viewed from the rear. The outer panel 12 can be formed into the shape shown in FIG. 5 by extruding a steel plate having a substantially rectangular outer shape by pressing. Fig. 6 is a cross-sectional view taken along line AA of the outer panel 12 of the tailgate 10 in Fig. 5. Fig. 6 shows the structure of an overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 together with a transverse garnish member 14 as an exterior member attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12. FIG. 7 is an explanatory diagram showing a state in which the transverse garnish member 14 of FIG. Fig. 8 is a BB vertical cross-sectional view of the outer panel 12 of the tailgate 10 of Fig. 5. Fig. 8 also shows the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12, the rear glass 18, and the like.
[0026] An opening 13 for fitting a rear glass 18 is formed in the upper portion of the outer panel 12, which has a substantially rectangular external shape. A planar plate attachment portion 15 is formed in the left-right central portion of the lower portion of the outer panel 12 having a substantially rectangular external shape. A flat license plate is attached to the planar plate attachment portion 15. 5, an overlapping portion 42 is provided in the vertical center of the outer panel 12, which has a substantially rectangular external shape, where the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer panel 12 overlaps. The overlapping portion 42 is provided in the vertical center of the outer panel 12 across the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the horizontal direction.
[0027] Additionally, an exterior mounting portion 43 is provided in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 for mounting and supporting the transverse garnish member 14, which serves as an exterior member, to the outer panel 12. The exterior mounting portion 43 of the outer panel 12 is provided in the center of the outer panel 12 in the up-down direction, and extends across substantially the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the left-right direction.
[0028] An exterior mounting portion 43 for supporting the transverse garnish member 14 on the outer panel 12, which is provided on the inside of the overlapping portion 42, is formed with a plurality of upper support holes 44, a plurality of lower support holes 45, and a plurality of bead portions 46.
[0029] The upper support holes 44 and the lower support holes 45 are support holes for supporting the transverse garnish member 14 on the outer panel 12. As shown in Figs. 6 to 8, the transverse garnish member 14 has a plurality of elastic pins 49 that can be inserted into the upper support holes 44 and the lower support holes 45 on the surface of the garnish body 48 that is attached to the outer panel 12. As shown in Figs. 7 and 8, the elastic pins 49 are inserted into the upper support holes 44 and the lower support holes 45, so that the transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 and supported by the outer panel 12. As a result, the upper support holes 44 and the lower support holes 45 function as support portions formed in the outer panel 12 for attaching the transverse garnish member 14 to the outer panel 12. In addition, in order to prevent a gap from occurring between the cross garnish member 14 and the outer panel 12 when attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12, the mounting surface of the cross garnish member 14 with the outer panel 12 is curved to match the outer shape of the outer panel 12.
[0030] The lower support holes 45 are formed in a portion of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 that is shaped to protrude rearward in a horizontally long straight line, as shown in Fig. 8. The lower support holes 45 are formed in a linear arrangement across the entire width of the automobile 1 in the vehicle width direction, in the exterior mounting portion 43 on the inside of the overlapping portion 42, as shown in Fig. 5.
[0031] As shown in FIG. 8, the upper support holes 44 are formed at the tops of the protruding portions 47. The protruding portions 47 are arranged in a straight line across the entire width of the automobile 1 in the vehicle width direction in the exterior mounting portion 43 on the inside of the overlapping portion 42. In this case, the upper support holes 44 are arranged in a straight line across the entire width of the automobile 1 in the vehicle width direction in the exterior mounting portion 43 on the inside of the overlapping portion 42. The protruding portions 47 are formed by deforming the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 into a convex shape so as to protrude toward the rear of the automobile 1. Such protruding portions 47 can be formed in the outer panel 12 by extrusion molding using a press process.
[0032] As shown in FIG. 5, the multiple upper support holes 44 are aligned in the vehicle width direction in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 along the upper edge of the transverse garnish member 14 extending in the vehicle width direction. Further, the multiple lower support holes 45 are aligned in the vehicle width direction in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 so as to follow the lower edge of the transverse garnish member 14 extending in the vehicle width direction.
[0033] The multiple bead portions 46 are formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 and aligned in the vehicle width direction. In FIG. 5, the multiple bead portions 46 are basically formed in a line in the vehicle width direction between a multiple upper support holes 44 aligned in the vehicle width direction and a multiple lower support holes 45 aligned in the vehicle width direction, so as to be interposed therebetween. Furthermore, the multiple bead portions 46 are basically formed alternately between the multiple upper support holes 44 formed in the multiple convex portions 47. As a result, the multiple bead portions 46 are interposed between the multiple upper support holes 44 aligned in the vehicle width direction. In this case, the multiple upper support holes 44 function as multiple reference support holes.
[0034] The bead portions 46 may be formed in a number different from that shown in FIG. 5 and aligned in the vehicle width direction in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 . By forming a plurality of bead portions 46 in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, the rigidity and natural frequency of the outer panel 12 can be changed. As indicated by the horizontal arrow in FIG. 4, the natural frequency of the outer panel 12 can be changed by forming a plurality of bead portions 46 in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 . As indicated by the vertical arrow in FIG. 4, the sound volume caused by the natural frequency can be changed by forming a plurality of bead portions 46 in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. However, it is expected that the degree of change in this natural frequency will differ depending on the number of beads 46 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, their arrangement in the overlapping portion 42, and the like. In addition, it is expected that the natural frequency of the outer panel 12 itself will differ depending on the size, shape, etc. of the outer panel 12. The desired number of the bead portions 46 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 varies depending on the external shape of the automobile 1, such as the basic design. For this reason, it is desirable that the number of bead portions 46 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 differs depending on the basic size and shape of the outer panel 12 and the transverse garnish member 14 of the automobile 1 . For example, depending on the exterior design of the automobile 1, it may be desirable to form the multiple bead portions 46 at every other bead portion as shown in Fig. 5, unlike Fig. 5. It may also be desirable to form the multiple bead portions 46 in a concentrated manner at both ends of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction, or in a concentrated manner at the center of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction. 6, for example, it is also possible to form a plurality of bead portions 46 in a concentrated manner at the curvature changing portion of the outer panel 12. It is also possible to form a plurality of bead portions 46 in a concentrated manner between the left and right curvature changing portions of the outer panel 12. Even when multiple bead portions 46 are arranged intermittently as described above, it is considered desirable to form the multiple bead portions 46 based on an alternating arrangement between the multiple upper support holes 44, which serve as multiple reference support holes, as illustrated in Figure 5. The multiple reference support holes that serve as a reference for the alternating arrangement of the multiple bead portions 46 may be the multiple lower support holes 45. Also, unlike Fig. 5, when the multiple upper support holes 44 and the multiple lower support holes 45 are arranged vertically, the multiple bead portions 46 may be formed based on an alternating arrangement between the upper and lower support holes 44, 45.
[0035] 8, the bead portion 46 is formed so as to protrude toward the inside of the automobile 1. Here, since the outer panel 12 of the rear gate 10 is provided on the rear side of the automobile 1, the inside of the automobile 1 means the front side of the automobile 1. As shown in FIG. 5, the bead portion 46 is formed in a spherical notch shape that is a part of a true sphere. Such a bead portion 46 can be formed by deforming the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 through extrusion molding using a press process. In this way, the bead portion 46 is formed in a spherical notch shape that is a part of a true sphere, which makes the bead portion 46 less likely to deform when vibrations or stresses are input thereto, regardless of the input direction. The bead portion 46 may be formed in a spherical indentation that is a part of an oval sphere. Even in this case, the bead portion 46 may be less likely to deform when vibration or stress is input thereto, regardless of the input direction. In contrast, if the bead portion 46 is formed in a polygonal shape such as a rectangle, the bead portion 46 may be easily deformed when vibration or stress is input thereto, depending on the input direction.
[0036] The bead portions 46 , which are in the shape of a spherical notch that is a part of a true sphere, may be formed in a number, size, and depth according to the vibration frequency of the abnormal noise generated from the rear gate 10 including the outer panel 12 . For example, when suppressing the first natural frequency F1 of the outer panel 12 in FIG. 3, the bead portion 46 in the shape of a spherical notch may be formed so that its diameter D or radius D / 2 corresponds to, for example, a multiple of the first natural frequency F1, or a length equivalent to one multiple of the multiple. This is expected to have an effect of suppressing the volume of sound at the first natural frequency F1. By optimizing the number, size, and depth of the bead portions 46 formed on the outer panel 12, it is expected that the natural frequency of the outer panel 12 can be changed to improve the so-called muffled sound audible to the occupants. The number, size, and depth of the bead portions 46 formed on the outer panel 12 can be improved by, for example, forming a plurality of outer panels 12 with different numbers, sizes, and depths, and evaluating the occurrence of abnormal sound. By forming a plurality of bead portions 46, each bead portion 46 can be formed in a desired shape and size without being affected by the size of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. Each bead portion 46 can be formed in a shape and size that is expected to suppress abnormal noises such as so-called booming noises that may occur in the outer panel 12 to which the cross garnish member 14 as an exterior member is attached. By forming a plurality of bead portions 46 in this manner, in this embodiment, it is expected to attenuate abnormal noises such as so-called booming noises that may occur in the outer panel 12 to which the cross garnish member 14 as an exterior member is attached, for example, due to the outer panel 12 vibrating in accordance with the vibration of the exterior member.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 5, the bead portion 46 has a partially recessed upper end portion interposed between a pair of convex portions 47 of a pair of adjacent upper support holes 44 . As a result, the bead portion 46 having a spherical notch shape is formed so as to extend downward from the same height position as the upper support hole 44, as shown in FIG. The area from upper support hole 44 to lower support hole 45 of exterior mounting portion 43 is made less likely to bend by a notched bead portion 46 extending downward from the same height position as upper support hole 44. The exterior mounting portion 43 is less likely to be deformed so as to be bent within the plane of the paper in FIG.
[0038] In this manner, the plurality of bead portions 46 can stiffen the exterior mounting portion 43 so that the outer panel 12 is less likely to deform in both the vehicle width direction, which is the left-right direction in FIG. 5, and in the up-down direction. 7, even if the cross garnish member 14 vibrates on the outer surface of the outer panel 12, the multiple bead portions 46 can suppress deformation of the exterior mounting portion 43 due to vibration. The multiple bead portions 46 can suppress deformation of the outer panel 12 together with the exterior mounting portion 43. For example, even if the transverse garnish member 14 were to vibrate on the outer panel 12 having a curvature change portion as shown in Fig. 7, the outer panel 12 would be less likely to deform at the curvature change portion because the spaces between the multiple support holes 44, 45 formed at the curvature change portion are stiffened by the bead portion 46. As a result, the support state of the transverse garnish member 14 by the multiple support holes 44, 45 at the curvature change portion of the outer panel 12 is less likely to change. The transverse garnish member 14 is less likely to vibrate significantly at the curvature change portion in a manner that would change the distance between it and the outer panel 12.
[0039] As described above, in this embodiment, the transverse garnish member 14 is attached as an exterior member to the outer panel 12 constituting the outer surface of the automobile 1, and the transverse garnish member 14 is supported by the outer panel 12. For this reason, in this embodiment, a plurality of support holes 44, 45 for attaching the transverse garnish member 14 to the outer panel 12 are formed in the outer panel 12. Furthermore, in this embodiment, a plurality of bead portions 46 are formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 where the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer panel 12 overlaps. The plurality of bead portions 46 are formed so as to be interposed between the plurality of support holes 44, 45 in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. As a result, even if the outer panel 12 constituting the outer surface of the automobile 1 is formed in a shape for the design of the automobile 1, the space between the plurality of support holes 44, 45 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 can be stiffened by the plurality of bead portions 46. As a result, in this embodiment, the mutual distance and relative positions of the multiple support holes 44, 45 formed in the outer panel 12 are unlikely to change even if the cross garnish member 14 attached to the outer panel 12 vibrates on the outer panel 12 or the mass of the rear gate 10 is partially increased by attaching the cross garnish member 14. The outer panel 12, whose basic shape is designed for the design of the automobile 1, can support the cross garnish member 14 attached thereto by the multiple support holes 44, 45 stiffened by the multiple bead portions 46 so as to suppress the cross garnish member 14 from vibrating on the outer panel 12.
[0040] In addition, in this embodiment, a single bead portion 46 is not formed between the multiple support holes 44, 45 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, but multiple bead portions 46 are formed. By forming multiple bead portions 46, each bead portion 46 can be formed into a desired shape and size without being affected by the size of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, for example, a shape and size that can be expected to suppress abnormal noise such as so-called booming noise generated in the outer panel 12 to which the crossing garnish member 14 is attached. In particular, each bead portion 46 is formed into a spherically cut shape that is a part of a true sphere or a part of an elliptical sphere. In this way, by forming multiple bead portions 46 in a spherically cut shape, in this embodiment, it is expected to attenuate abnormal noise such as so-called booming noise that may be generated in the outer panel 12 to which the crossing garnish member 14 is attached, for example, when the outer panel 12 vibrates in accordance with the vibration of the crossing garnish member 14.
[0041] In this manner, in this embodiment, it is expected to suppress the generation of abnormal noises such as muffled noises caused by vibration of the cross garnish member 14 attached to and supported by the outer panel 12 on the outer panel 12, the outer panel 12 vibrating in response to the abnormal noises, and the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 11 resonating with the abnormal noises. It is expected that passengers of the automobile 1 will find it difficult to hear these abnormal noises generated from the outer panel 12 to which the cross garnish member 14 is attached.
[0042] In addition, in this embodiment, the transverse garnish member 14, which is an exterior member, can be attached to the outer panel 12 so as to reduce the generation of abnormal noise. Therefore, in this embodiment, there is less need to suppress the generation of abnormal noise by restricting the designs of the outer panel 12 and the transverse garnish member 14, which is an exterior member, and it is possible to provide a high degree of freedom in the designs.
[0043] Furthermore, in this embodiment, the multiple bead portions 46 formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 are formed so as to be convex toward the inside of the automobile 1. As a result, no protrusions that unnecessarily convex toward the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer surface of the overlapping portion 42 are formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. The multiple bead portions 46 do not impede the attachment of the transverse garnish member 14 to the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12.
[0044] In this embodiment, the multiple bead portions 46 are formed by deforming the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 by extrusion molding using a press process. As a result, in this embodiment, abnormal noises such as booming sounds caused by vibrations of the outer panel 12 to which the transverse garnish member 14 is attached can be made less audible to the occupants of the automobile 1 without adding an active damper or the like.
[0045] In this embodiment, the outer panel 12 is for the rear gate 10 of the automobile 1, which is provided so as to be openable and closable with respect to the rear opening 4 of the automobile 1 by overlapping with the inner panel 11. The transverse garnish member 14 is attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 across the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1. In such an attachment structure of the transverse garnish member 14 of the automobile 1, the multiple support holes have an upper support hole 44 and multiple lower support holes 45. The multiple upper support holes 44 are aligned in the vehicle width direction in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 so as to follow the upper edge of the transverse garnish member 14 extending in the vehicle width direction. The multiple lower support holes 45 are aligned in the vehicle width direction in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 so as to follow the lower edge of the transverse garnish member 14 extending in the vehicle width direction. In this embodiment, a plurality of bead portions 46 are formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 between the plurality of upper support holes 44 and the plurality of lower support holes 45 and are aligned in the vehicle width direction. As a result, the multiple bead portions 46 can suppress deformation of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 between the upper support hole 44 and the lower support hole 45 across the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1. Even if the transverse garnish member 14 is attached across the entire width of the outer panel 12 in the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1, it is possible to suppress vibration of the transverse garnish member 14 on the outer panel 12 across the entire width of the transverse garnish member 14 in the vehicle width direction. Furthermore, in this embodiment, the transverse garnish member 14 can be attached to the outer panel 12 so as to suppress the generation of abnormal noise, and therefore the degree of freedom in the design of the exterior of the automobile 1, including the rear gate 10 of the automobile 1, can be increased by combining the outer panel 12 and the transverse garnish member 14. For example, in this embodiment, the outer panel 12 is formed so that the curvature of both side portions in the left and right direction of the outer panel 12 is larger than the curvature of the center portion, and the transverse garnish member 14 is formed in accordance with this. Even in such a case, in this embodiment, it is expected that the generation of abnormal noise in the portion where the curvature changes can be effectively suppressed.
[0046] In this embodiment, the multiple bead portions 46 are formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 in such a manner that their arrangement in the vehicle width direction is basically an alternating arrangement with the multiple convex portions 47 for the multiple upper support holes 44. Moreover, the multiple upper support holes 44 have multiple convex portions 47 formed by deforming the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 into a convex shape toward the rear of the automobile 1 for each upper support hole 44 serving as a reference support hole through extrusion molding using a press process, and multiple upper support holes 44 formed at the tops of each of the multiple convex portions 47 and to which the transverse garnish member 14 is attached. As a result, at least a plurality of convex portions 47 for a plurality of reference support holes and a plurality of bead portions 46 are formed in an alternating arrangement in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. A three-dimensional panel structure that is difficult to deform can be formed in the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, in which the convex portions 47 and the bead portions 46 are basically arranged alternately. The transverse garnish member 14 attached to the overlapping portion 42 of such an outer panel 12 is unlikely to vibrate on the outer panel 12.
[0047] In this embodiment, the multiple bead portions 46 are formed such that a portion of each is interposed between a pair of convex portions 47 for a pair of upper support holes 44 adjacent to the bead portion 46. As a result, the multiple upper support holes 44 and the multiple bead portions 46 are aligned in a row in the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1. The overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 in which the multiple upper support holes 44 are formed is less likely to deform due to vibration of the transverse garnish member 14 not only in the vehicle width direction but also in the vertical direction. As a result, the transverse garnish member 14 is less likely to vibrate on the outer panel 12.
[0048] In addition, in this embodiment, the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 is deformed by extrusion molding through press working, thereby obtaining the various effects described above. In this embodiment, there is no need to add a vibration suppression member such as a dynamic damper to the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 in order to suppress vibration of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12. In this embodiment, it is expected that abnormal noise caused by attaching and supporting an exterior member to the outer panel 12 can be suppressed while suppressing increases in cost and mass due to the addition of parts. In this embodiment, the cross garnish member 14 as an exterior member is supported by the outer panel 12. In addition, for example, the exterior member attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 can be supported by the inner panel 11 deformed toward the outer panel 12. However, for example, it is not easy to deform the inner panel 11 so that the outer shape of the outer panel 12 is greatly curved and the inner panel 11 can support the exterior member up to the inside of the greatly curved outer panel 12. For this reason, in general, a reinforcement member is added between the outer panel 12 and the inner panel 11, rather than deforming the inner panel 11 itself toward the outer panel 12. Adding a reinforcement member increases the weight of the rear gate 10. In this embodiment, the exterior member attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 can be supported by the outer panel 12 without taking such measures. In this embodiment, the shape of the outer panel 12 can be made to have a high degree of freedom so that it can be curved greatly, for example. In this embodiment, the shape of the outer panel 12 itself does not need to be restricted in order to suppress the natural frequency of the outer panel 12.
[0049] The above-described embodiment is an example of a preferred embodiment of the present invention, but the present invention is not limited to this, and various modifications and changes are possible without departing from the gist of the invention.
[0050] FIG. 9 is an explanatory diagram of a modified example of an overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12 where the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer panel 12 overlaps.
[0051] In the modified example of Figure 9, in the exterior mounting portion 43 which is part of the overlapping portion 42 of the outer panel 12, a plurality of upper support holes 44 lined up in the vehicle width direction and a plurality of lower support holes 45 lined up in the vehicle width direction are lined up vertically. The multiple bead portions 46 are aligned in three rows in the vehicle width direction between the multiple upper support holes 44 aligned in the vehicle width direction and the multiple lower support holes 45 aligned in the vehicle width direction. The bead portion 46 in the uppermost row of the three rows in the vehicle width direction has a spherical notch-shaped upper portion partially interposed between a pair of adjacent upper support holes 44. The bead portion 46 in the bottom row of the three rows in the vehicle width direction has a partially recessed upper portion interposed between a pair of adjacent lower support holes 45 . Even with such a modified mounting structure for an exterior member, it is expected that the same various effects as those of the above-described embodiment can be achieved. The multiple bead portions 46 may be arranged in two or more rows in the vehicle width direction on the exterior mounting portion 43.
[0052] The above-described embodiment is an example of an attachment structure for an exterior member of the automobile 1 in which the transverse garnish member 14 attached to the outer surface of the outer panel 12 of the rear gate 10 is supported by the outer panel 12. Other outer panels 12 exposed on the outer surface of the automobile 1 include, for example, outer panels 12 of doors 52, outer panels 12 of engine hoods 54, outer panels 12 of roofs 51, and the like, as shown in FIG. For example, a guard member for preventing the outer panel 12 of the door 52 from directly hitting the outer surface of the outer panel 12 of the door 52 may be attached to extend along the front-rear direction of the automobile 1. Further, a guard member for preventing flying stones may be attached to the outer panel 12 of the engine hood 54 so as to extend along the vehicle width direction of the automobile 1. In addition, a guard member may be attached to the outer panel 12 of the roof 51 so as to extend along the fore-and-aft direction of the automobile 1, in order to prevent luggage or the like from being placed directly on the outer panel 12 of the roof 51 when the luggage or the like is placed on the roof 51. In the automobile 1, for the portions of the outer panel 12 of each of these parts where the guard members overlap, it is possible to employ the same mounting structure for the exterior members as in the above-described embodiment.
