[0003] [Patent Document 1] JP 2019-004022 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] As described above, in Patent Document 1, multiple bus bars are arranged on the surface of the case. To ensure gaps between each bus bar, it is necessary to ensure an area in the plane direction (width direction) of the case that is larger than the total area of the arranged bus bars. As a result, as the number of arranged bus bars increases, the size of the electrical junction box (case) increases, making it difficult to realize a small electrical junction box. The purpose of this specification is to realize a small electrical junction box by devising an arrangement of bus bars relative to the case. [Means for solving the problem]
[0005] A first technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box that may include a case, a protrusion protruding from a surface of the case and made of an insulator, a first bus bar arranged on the surface of the case, and a second bus bar arranged at an end of the protrusion and above the first bus bar with a gap between them.
[0006] A second technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box of the first technology, wherein a plurality of the protrusions are provided at intervals on the case, the first bus bar is arranged in an area sandwiched between the plurality of the protrusions, and the second bus bar is arranged at each end of the plurality of the protrusions.
[0007] A third technique disclosed in this specification is the electric junction box of the first or second technique, wherein the second bus bar may have a recess that houses an end of the protrusion.
[0008] A fourth technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box of the first or second technology, wherein the second bus bar has a convex portion extending toward the surface of the case, and the convex portion may be provided on the end side of the second bus bar relative to the portion where the end face of the protrusion and the second bus bar contact each other.
[0009] A fifth technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box of the first or second technology, wherein an end of the protrusion may be provided with a bent portion that extends from a portion where an end face of the protrusion and the second bus bar contact each other toward the end of the second bus bar, and then bends so as to extend in a direction away from the surface of the case.
[0010] A sixth technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box of the first or second technology, wherein the second bus bar may have a notch or a through hole to maintain a gap with the portion of the first bus bar extending upward.
[0011] A seventh technology disclosed in this specification is an electrical connection box of the first or second technology, which may include a first bus bar protrusion that protrudes from the surface of the case, is made of an insulator, and has an end at which the first bus bar is disposed. Effect of the Invention
[0012] According to the first technique, the first bus bar and the second bus bar can be arranged to overlap each other in a plan view (observing the surface of the case from above). As a result, the size of the case in the planar direction (width direction) for arranging the bus bars can be made equal to or smaller than the total area of the bus bars to be arranged. As a result, the size of the case in the planar direction can be reduced, and a small-sized electrical junction box can be realized. In addition, a long creepage distance between the first bus bar and the second bus bar can be ensured, and electrical conduction between the bus bars can also be prevented.
[0013] The first bus bar and the second bus bar may be connected to the same electronic component or different electronic components. For example, when the first electronic component and the second electronic component are connected to an electrical junction box, both the first bus bar and the second bus bar may be connected to the same electronic component (the first electronic component or the second electronic component), or the first bus bar may be connected to one of the first electronic component and the second electronic component, and the second bus bar may be connected to the other electronic component.
[0014] According to the second technique, since the second bus bar is supported by the multiple protruding parts, the second bus bar can be stably held on the protruding parts, and as a result, the second bus bar can be prevented from falling off the protruding parts.
[0015] According to the third technique, the end (tip) of the protrusion is inserted into the recess of the second busbar, so that the second busbar can be more stably held on the protrusion. Furthermore, when placing the second busbar in an electrical junction box, the second busbar can be positioned relative to the electrical junction box (protrusion) simply by inserting the end of the protrusion into the recess of the second busbar. Furthermore, by inserting the end of the protrusion into the recess of the second busbar, it is possible to more reliably prevent the second busbar from falling off the protrusion.
[0016] According to the fourth technology, in the protruding direction (typically upward) of the protrusion, the end (end in the width direction) of the second busbar covers part of the side surface (surface in a direction perpendicular to the protruding direction of the protrusion) of the protrusion. As a result, it is possible to prevent the second busbar from falling off the protrusion. Furthermore, the cross-sectional area of the second busbar (the cross-sectional area of the surface perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the second busbar) is increased, and the electrical resistance of the second busbar is reduced, resulting in advantages such as reduced power loss and reduced heat generation.
[0017] According to the fifth technology, the second busbar can be placed on the surface of the portion of the protruding portion that extends toward the end of the second busbar (the portion that extends in a direction perpendicular to the protruding direction of the protruding portion). As a result, the second busbar can be stably held on the protruding portion. In addition, the portion of the protruding portion that extends toward the end of the second busbar and then extends in a direction away from the surface of the case can position the second busbar with respect to the electric connection box (the protruding portion) and prevent the second busbar from falling off the protruding portion. Note that, in the fifth technology, by devising a shape of the protruding portion, it is possible to obtain the advantages of stably holding the second busbar on the protruding portion, positioning the second busbar with respect to the electric connection box, and preventing the second busbar from falling off the protruding portion, without performing any special processing on the second busbar.
[0018] According to the sixth technique, the first busbar can extend upward through a notch or through hole in the second busbar. In other words, in a plan view, the second busbar can be arranged to overlap the first busbar at a position other than the portion where the first busbar extends upward. As a result, the surface area of the case for arranging the busbars (the first busbar and the second busbar) can be reduced. In other words, the size of the case in the planar direction can be further reduced.
[0019] According to the seventh technique, the first bus bar can be disposed at a position (end of the first bus bar protrusion) away from the surface of the case (the starting point from which the protrusion and the first bus bar protrusion extend), thereby ensuring a longer creepage distance between the first bus bar and the second bus bar. [0021] (Features of the Electrical Junction Box 100) The electric junction box 100 will be described with reference to Fig. 1 to Fig. 5. Fig. 1 shows a state in which electronic components 20, 40 are connected to the electric junction box 100. Fig. 2 shows a view (i.e., a plan view) of the electric junction box 100 observed from above (Z+ side).
[0022] As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the electrical connection box 100 includes a case 10, a first bus bar 25, a second bus bar 26, a third bus bar 45, and a fourth bus bar 46. As shown in Fig. 1, the first electronic component 20 is connected to the first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26. The second electronic component 40 is connected to the third bus bar 45 and the fourth bus bar 46. The case 10 is provided with first protrusions 12a and 12b protruding from the surface of the case 10, and second protrusions 14a and 14b protruding from the surface of the case 10 at positions separated from the first protrusions 12a and 12b. The first protrusions 12a and 12b extend on the surface of the case 10 in a second direction (Y direction) perpendicular to the first direction, with an interval therebetween. The second protrusions 14a, 14b also extend in a second direction (Y direction) perpendicular to the first direction (X direction) at an interval on the surface of the case 10. A first bus bar protrusion 13 protruding from the surface of the case 10 is provided between the first protrusions 12a, 12b. Similarly, a second bus bar protrusion 15 protruding from the surface of the case 10 is provided between the second protrusions 14a, 14b. Protrusions 12a, 12b, 14a, 14b, 13, and 15 are made of an insulator.
[0023] The first busbar 25 includes a main busbar portion 25a and a rib portion 25b. The main busbar portion 25a is disposed between the first protrusions 12a, 12b on a plane (XY plane) parallel to the surface of the case 10. That is, the first busbar 25 (main busbar portion 25a) is disposed in a region sandwiched between the first protrusions 12a, 12b. The rib portion 25b extends from the surface of the main busbar portion 25a in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the case 10 (Z+ direction). The first busbar terminal 23 is connected to an end of the rib portion 25b. The main busbar portion 25a is not in direct contact with the surface of the case 10, as will be described in detail later.
[0024] The second busbar 26 includes a main busbar portion 26a and a rib portion 26b. The main busbar portion 26a is disposed on the ends of the first protrusions 12a, 12b. The main busbar portion 26a is also disposed on the XY plane. That is, the second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a) is provided above the first busbar 25 (main busbar portion 25a). The rib portion 26b extends in the Z+ direction from the surface of the main busbar portion 26a. The second busbar terminal 24 is connected to the end of the rib portion 26b. The second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a) is provided with a notch portion 27. The rib portion 25b of the first busbar 25 extends above the main busbar portion 26a of the second busbar 26 through the notch portion 27. Cutout portion 27 maintains a gap between rib portion 25b of first bus bar 25 and second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a).
[0025] The connection terminal 21 of the first electronic component 20 is connected to a first bus bar terminal 23. Furthermore, the connection terminal 22 of the first electronic component 20 is connected to a second bus bar terminal 24. The first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26 are connected to an external power supply (not shown) and supply power to the first electronic component 20.
[0026] The third busbar 45 includes a main busbar portion 45a and a rib portion 45b. The main busbar portion 45a is disposed between the second protrusions 14a, 14b on a plane (XY plane) parallel to the surface of the case 10. That is, the third busbar 45 (main busbar portion 45a) is disposed in a region sandwiched between the second protrusions 14a, 14b. The rib portion 45b extends from the surface of the main busbar portion 45a in a direction perpendicular to the surface of the case 10 (Z+ direction). The third busbar terminal 43 is connected to an end of the rib portion 45b.
[0027] The fourth busbar 46 includes a main busbar portion 46a and a rib portion 46b. The main busbar portion 46a is disposed on the ends of the second protrusions 14a, 14b. The main busbar portion 46a is also disposed on the XY plane. That is, the fourth busbar 46 (main busbar portion 46a) is provided above the third busbar 45 (main busbar portion 45a). The rib portion 46b extends in the Z+ direction from the surface of the main busbar portion 46a. The fourth busbar terminal 44 is connected to the end of the rib portion 46b. The fourth busbar 46 (main busbar portion 46a) is provided with a notch portion 47. The rib portion 45b of the third busbar 45 extends above the main busbar portion 46a of the fourth busbar 46 through the notch portion 47. Cutout portion 47 maintains a gap between rib portion 45b of third bus bar 45 and fourth bus bar 46 (main bus bar portion 46a).
[0028] The connection terminal 41 of the second electronic component 40 is connected to the third bus bar terminal 43. Moreover, the connection terminal 42 of the second electronic component 40 is connected to the fourth bus bar terminal 44. The third bus bar 45 and the fourth bus bar 46 are connected to an external power supply (not shown) and supply power to the second electronic component 40.
[0029] The features of the electrical junction box 100 will be described in more detail below with reference to Figures 3 to 5. As described above, the features of the first busbar 25 are the same as those of the third busbar 45, and the features of the second busbar 26 are the same as those of the fourth busbar 46. The relationship between the first electronic component 20, the first busbar 25, and the second busbar 26 is the same as that between the second electronic component 40, the third busbar 45, and the fourth busbar 46. Therefore, in the following explanation, the relationship between the first busbar 25 and the second busbar 26 will be explained.
[0030] As shown in FIG. 3, first busbar 25 (main busbar portion 25a) is disposed at an end of first busbar protrusion 13. The height (length in the Z direction) of first busbar protrusion 13 is lower than the height of first protrusions 12a, 12b. Main busbar portion 25a of first busbar 25 is provided with through hole 25h. Furthermore, positioning protrusion 13a is provided at the upper end of first busbar protrusion 13. When first busbar 25 is disposed in case 10, positioning protrusion 13a is inserted into through hole 25h, and first busbar 25 is disposed on first busbar protrusion 13. This makes it possible to position first busbar 25 with respect to case 10. In addition, in the direction in which main busbar portion 25a extends (Y direction), positioning projection 13a and through hole 25h are provided on the side (rib side) of main busbar portion 25a where rib portion 25b is formed (compare FIGS. 4 and 5). Protrusions 25c extending toward the surface of case 10 are provided on both ends of main busbar portion 25a in the width direction (X direction). Protrusions 25c are provided over the entire direction in which main busbar portion 25a extends (see also FIGS. 4 and 5). Protrusions 25c extend along first protrusions 12a and 12b. Providing protrusions 25c increases the cross-sectional area (cross-sectional area of the XZ plane) of first busbar 25, and the electrical resistance of first busbar 25 can be reduced. Furthermore, even if first busbar 25 is subjected to vibration or the like, projection 25c comes into contact with first projections 12a, 12b, thereby making it possible to prevent first busbar 25 from shifting in position (falling, etc.).
[0031] As shown in FIGS. 3 to 5, the main busbar portion 26a of the second busbar 26 is disposed at the upper end of the first protrusions 12a, 12b. As described above, the height of the first busbar protrusion 13 is lower than the height of the first protrusions 12a, 12b. Therefore, a gap is secured between the main busbar portion 25a of the first busbar 25 and the main busbar portion 26a of the second busbar 26. Also, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the main busbar portion 26a is provided with a notch 47. The notch 47 is provided in the first busbar 25 (rib portion 25b). By providing the notch 47, a space is secured for the rib portion 25b of the first busbar 25 to extend upward. In other words, by providing the notch 47, a gap is secured between the rib portion 25b of the first busbar 25 and the second busbar 26, and the first busbar 25 and the second busbar 26 can be prevented from contacting each other. The notch 47 is provided on the side (rib side) of the main busbar portion 26a where the rib portion 26b is formed (see also FIG. 2). In other words, the notch 47 is not provided on the side (power source side) of the main busbar portion 26a that connects to a power source (not shown). This makes it possible to ensure a large cross-sectional area (cross-sectional area in the XZ plane) of the second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a), and the electrical resistance of the second busbar 26 can be reduced.
[0032] (Advantages of Electrical Junction Box 100) In the electric connection box 100, when viewed from above (observed from the Z+ direction), the main busbar portion 25a of the first busbar 25 and the main busbar portion 26a of the second busbar 26 overlap with each other. Therefore, the electric connection box 100 can reduce the width size of the electronic connection box (case) compared to an electronic connection box in which two busbars are arranged side by side in the width direction (X direction). In addition, the electric connection box 100 can ensure a long creeping distance between the first busbar 25 and the second busbar 26 by arranging the first busbar 25 (main busbar portion 25a) at the end of the first busbar protrusion 13. Furthermore, as described above, by providing the positioning protrusion 13a and the through hole 25h, the positioning of the first busbar 25 is made easy, and the assembly work of the electric connection box 100 can be simplified. In addition, by providing the protrusion 25c facing downward (to the surface side of the case 10), the electrical resistance of the first busbar 25 can be reduced. It is possible to prevent first bus bar 25 from falling off first bus bar protrusion 13.
[0033] Also, by arranging second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a) on the upper ends of first protrusions 12a, 12b, second busbar 26 is supported at both ends, and it is possible to prevent second busbar 26 from falling off first protrusions 12a, 12b. Furthermore, by providing cutout portion 47 in part of main busbar portion 26a, it is possible to reduce the electrical resistance of second busbar 26 while ensuring a gap between first busbar 25 and second busbar 26.
[0034] (Modification of the Electrical Junction Box 100) The following describes modified examples (electrical junction boxes 100a to 100h) of the electric junction box 100. Note that for the electric junction boxes 100a to 100h, features common to the electric junction box 100 are given the same reference numbers as those given to the electric junction box 100, and descriptions thereof may be omitted.
[0035] (First Modification) Figures 6 to 8 show cross-sectional views of electrical junction box 100a. Figures 6, 7, and 8 correspond to cross sections at the positions shown in Figures 3, 4, and 5, respectively. Compared to electrical junction box 100, electrical junction box 100a does not have protrusion 25c provided on main busbar portion 25a. Therefore, electrical junction box 100a has a simplified structure of first busbar 25, which makes it easier to manufacture first busbar 25.
[0036] (Second Modification) 9 to 11 show cross-sectional views of the electric junction box 100b. FIGS. 9, 10, and 11 correspond to cross-sections at the positions shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5, respectively. In the electric junction box 100b, a through hole 147 is provided in the second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a). The through hole 147 is provided only on the rib portion side (FIG. 9), and is not provided on the power supply side (FIG. 11) or in the intermediate portion between the rib portion side and the power supply side (FIG. 10). By providing the through hole 147, the electric junction box 100b can maintain a gap between the rib portion 25b of the first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26, as in the electric junction box 100. In addition, the first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26 can be prevented from contacting each other. In the electric junction box 100b, the main bus bar portion 26a is supported at both ends over the entire area from the rib portion side to the power supply side. Therefore, the electrical junction box 100b can more stably hold the second bus bar 26 on the first protrusions 12a, 12b. Note that, in the electrical junction box 100b, similarly to the electrical junction box 100a, a main bus bar portion 25a that does not have the protrusion 25c can also be used.
[0037] (Third Modification) FIG. 12 shows a cross-sectional view of the power supply side (corresponding to the position shown in FIG. 5) of the electric connection box 100c. The electric connection box 100c has protrusions 30 extending toward the surface of the case 10 on both sides of the main busbar portion 26a in the width direction. The protrusions 30 are provided on the outer sides of the first protrusions 12a and 12b in the width direction. That is, the protrusions 30 are provided on the width direction end side of the main busbar portion 26a rather than the portion where the end faces (upper end faces) of the first protrusions 12a and 12b contact the main busbar portion 26a. By providing the protrusions 30, the electric connection box 100c can prevent the second busbar 26 from falling off the first protrusions 12a and 12b. In addition, the electric connection box 100c can increase the cross-sectional area of the main busbar portion 26a compared to the electric connection boxes 100, 100a, and 100b by the amount of the protrusions 30 provided therein, and can reduce the electrical resistance of the second busbar 26. In addition, in the electric junction box 100b, similarly to the electric junction box 100a, the main busbar portion 25a without the protruding portion 25c can be used. In addition, in the electric junction box 100c, the structure of the power supply side and the intermediate portion can be any of the forms of the electric junction box 100 (see Figs. 3 and 4), the electric junction box 100a (see Figs. 6 and 7), and the electric junction box 100b (see Figs. 9 and 10).
[0038] (Fourth Modification) FIG. 13 shows a cross-sectional view of the power supply side (corresponding to the position shown in FIG. 5) of the electric junction box 100d. The electric junction box 100d has a recess 32 on the back side (opposing the front surface of the case 10) of the main busbar portion 26a. The recess 32 is provided on both ends of the main busbar portion 26a in the width direction. The first protrusions 12a, 12b are housed in the recess 32. That is, the distance between the first protrusions 12a, 12b and the distance between the recesses 32, 32 are equal in the width direction. By housing the first protrusions 12a, 12b in the recess 32, the electric junction box 100d can prevent the second busbar 26 from falling off the first protrusions 12a, 12b. Furthermore, in the electric junction box 100d, the second bus bar 26 can be positioned relative to the first protrusions 12a, 12b (case 10) by inserting the first protrusions 12a, 12b into the recesses 32. Note that in the electric junction box 100d, a main bus bar portion 25a that does not have the protrusion 25c can also be used, as in the electric junction box 100a. Furthermore, in the electric junction box 100d, the structure of the power supply side and the intermediate portion can be any of the forms of the electric junction box 100 (see FIGS. 3 and 4), the electric junction box 100a (see FIGS. 6 and 7), and the electric junction box 100b (see FIGS. 9 and 10).
[0039] (Fifth Modification) 14 to 16 show cross-sectional views of the electric junction box 100e. FIGS. 14, 15, and 16 correspond to cross-sections at the positions shown in FIGS. 3, 4, and 5, respectively. In the electric junction box 100e, the case 10 is not provided with the first bus bar protrusion 13, as compared with the electric junction box 100. In the electric junction box 100e, the first bus bar 25 (main bus bar portion 25a) is disposed on the surface of the case 10. In the electric junction box 100e, the shape of the case 10 can be simplified, and measures against the first bus bar 25 dropping are not required. In the electric junction box 100e, the second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a) may be provided with a through hole 147, as in the electric junction box 100b. Similarly to electrical junction box 100c, a protrusion 30 may be provided on main busbar portion 26a of second busbar 26, and similar to electrical junction box 100d, a recess 32 may be provided on main busbar portion 26a of second busbar 26.
[0040] (Sixth Modification) An electric junction box 100f shown in FIG. 17 is a modified example of the electric junction box 100e, and shows a cross-sectional view of the power source side (corresponding to the position shown in FIG. 16). In the electric junction box 100f, a bent portion 34a is provided at an end of the first protrusion 12a, and a bent portion 34b is provided at an end of the first protrusion 12b. The bent portions 34a and 34b are L-shaped, and extend from a portion where the first protrusions 12a and 12b contact the second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a) toward the outside (main busbar portion 26a), and then bend so as to extend upward (in a direction away from the surface of the case 10). In the electric junction box 100e, the second busbar 26 (main busbar portion 26a) is placed on the portion where the bent portions 34a and 34b extend toward the outside (X direction). Therefore, the second busbar 26 can be stably held on the first protrusions 12a and 12b. In addition, the bent portions 34a, 34b extend above the thickness of the main busbar portion 26a. Therefore, it is possible to more reliably prevent the second busbar 26 from falling off the first protrusions 12a, 12b. In the electric junction box 100f, the first busbar protrusion 13 may be provided on the surface of the case 10, similar to the electric junction boxes 100, 100a, 100b, 100c, and 100d. In the case where the first busbar protrusion 13 is provided on the surface of the case 10, in the electric junction box 100f, the protrusion 25c may be provided on the main busbar portion 25a, similar to the electric junction boxes 100, 100b, 100c, and 100d.
[0041] (Seventh Modification) An electric junction box 100g shown in FIG. 18 is a modified example of the electric junction box 100e, and shows a cross-sectional view of the power source side (corresponding to the position shown in FIG. 16). In the electric junction box 100g, the second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a) is disposed on the first protruding portion 12b and is not in contact with the first protruding portion 12a. That is, the main bus bar portion 26a is supported in a cantilevered manner. Even in this case, by disposing the second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a) on the first protruding portion 12b, the first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26 can be overlapped when viewed in a plan view while a gap is secured between the first bus bar 25 and the second bus bar 26. In the electric junction box 100g, the shapes of the first bus bar 25, the second bus bar 26, and the case 10 can be simplified, and the manufacturing cost of each component can be reduced. In addition, in the electrical junction box 100g, the first protruding portion 12a on which the second bus bar 26 (main bus bar portion 26a) is not disposed can be omitted.
[0042] (Other embodiments) In the above embodiment, an electrical junction box has been described in which, when viewed from above, the first and second bus bars to which a first electronic component is connected overlap, and the third and fourth bus bars to which a second electronic component is connected overlap. However, different electronic components may be connected to the first and second bus bars (or the third and fourth bus bars). For example, two connection terminals of the first electronic component may be connected to the second and third bus bars, one of the two connection terminals of the second electronic component may be connected to the fourth bus bar, and one of the two connection terminals of the third electronic component may be connected to the first bus bar. What is important about the electrical junction box disclosed in this specification is that an insulating protrusion is formed on the surface of the case,
