Abstract

To provide a catalyst having high activity for converting para hydrogen to ortho hydrogen.SOLUTION: A catalyst of the present invention is a catalyst for converting para-hydrogen to ortho-hydrogen, characterized by containing platinum group elements as active components, preferably with the platinum group element content ranging from 0.001 mass% to 10 mass%, wherein the platinum group elements are either platinum, palladium, or both, and can yield gaseous hydrogen with low para-hydrogen from liquid hydrogen in a short time.SELECTED DRAWING: None
