Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to halogen-containing polymers for use as flame retardants and the like. [Background technology]
[0002] Flame retardants are well known as additives that impart flame retardancy to resins by mixing with them. For example, compounds containing multiple halogen atoms have long been used as halogen-based flame retardants. However, some low-molecular-weight halogen-based flame retardants (e.g., polybrominated biphenyls) are subject to the RoHS Directive due to their harmful properties. For this reason, high-molecular-weight halogen-based flame retardants have been developed in recent years.
[0003] As a high molecular weight bromine-based flame retardant, for example, a halogen-containing polymer having high heat resistance in which tetrabromobisphenol A is linked via an ethylene group is known (Patent Document 1). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
