Summary of the Invention

Problems to be Solved by the Invention

[0004] However, in the painting roller disclosed in Patent Document 1, an operation of press-fitting the bearing part into the cylindrical body is required. In particular, as the diameter size of the painting roller becomes smaller, the accuracy of the operation is required, and there is a problem that the operation becomes complicated.

[0005] In addition, in the painting roller disclosed in Patent Document 1, although an embodiment in which the cylindrical body is melted after the bearing part is press-fitted into the cylindrical body to form a first member is also disclosed, in the process of melting the cylindrical body to form the first member, there is also a possibility of affecting the position where the bearing part is arranged.

[0006] And when the position of the bearing portion described above is displaced and the center line of the painting roller is displaced, as shown in FIG. 7(B), there are problems such as poor insertion of the painting handle and poor rotation of the painting roller, resulting in defects in the painting operation.

[0007] Furthermore, in a conventional painting roller as disclosed in Patent Document 2, a slit is formed on the outer periphery, and the inner diameter is made slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the straight portion (the tip shaft portion of the painting handle) of the painting handle, and a fixing cylinder (fixed bearing) made of synthetic resin having radial elasticity is generally adopted.

[0008] However, in the conventional fixed bearing disclosed in Patent Document 2, when the tip shaft portion of the painting handle is inserted, it expands and deforms in the radial direction, so that the outer peripheral surface becomes elliptical, and a part of the outer peripheral surface comes into contact with the inside of the cylinder to cause rotational resistance, resulting in a problem of poor rotation in which the rotation speed of the painting roller does not become constant.

[0009] The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and a specific object thereof is to provide a painting roller, a manufacturing method thereof, and a heating device used for the manufacturing, which are easy to assemble, and in which poor insertion of the painting handle and poor rotation of the painting roller are less likely to occur.

Means for Solving the Problems

[0010] The present invention was devised to achieve the above object. More specifically, the painting roller of the present invention includes a cylindrical main body pipe having a brush portion for containing paint attached to the outer periphery, a cap having an insertion port into which one open end portion of the main body pipe is fitted and the tip shaft portion of the painting handle is inserted, and a fixed bearing disposed inside the main body pipe and inserted and fixed to the tip shaft portion of the painting handle. The main body pipe is integrally formed with an inner diameter bearing portion for rotatably supporting the tip shaft portion of the painting handle, a diameter-expanded portion having a space for disposing the fixed bearing, and a diameter-expanded end portion formed on the other open end portion side different from the open end portion for forming a closing portion of the main body pipe. The diameter-expanded end portion includes a configuration in which the open end portion on the diameter-expanded end portion side is closed.

[0011] In the painting roller of the present invention, since the inner diameter bearing portion is integrally formed on the main body pipe, the number of components is small, the assembly man-hours can be reduced, and the rotation failure of the painting roller due to assembly failure can be prevented.

[0012] The present invention includes a configuration in which the main body pipe is formed of a thermally reversible resin, and the diameter-expanded end portion is heated from the inner wall side and adhesively closed by heat welding.

[0013] In the painting roller of the present invention, by heating the main body pipe formed of a thermally reversible resin from the inner wall side and closing it by heat welding, parts such as a lid are not required, so the number of parts can be reduced.

[0014] Further, the present invention includes a configuration in which the fixed bearing is a tubular body having an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the diameter-expanded portion, and at least two or more inner claws protruding in a direction toward the center portion are provided on the inner peripheral wall thereof and disposed over the entire length direction of the fixed bearing. The tip end portion of the inner claw abuts against the tip shaft portion of the painting handle, and the fixed bearing is formed of a thermally reversible resin having a shape required for removably holding the tip shaft portion of the painting handle.

[0015] Since the fixed bearing of the present invention is not formed with a slit on its outer peripheral surface like a conventional fixed bearing with the above-described configuration, even when the tip shaft portion of the painting handle is inserted, the outer peripheral portion does not deform, and there is no change in the rotation speed of the painting roller, and there is an effect that it is difficult for defective painting work to occur.

[0016] Furthermore, the present invention includes a first cutting step of cutting a pipe material formed of a thermoreversible resin into a required length suitable for manufacturing a painting roller, applying a solvent in which the thermoreversible resin is dissolved to the outer peripheral surface of the first-cut pipe material, and then adhering a strip-shaped brush material while winding it in a spiral shape, a second cutting step of cutting the pipe material to which the brush material is adhered into a predetermined length for use as a main body pipe, a first diameter-expanding step of disposing a fixed bearing from one open end portion of the pipe material cut in the second cutting step and at the same time expanding the inner diameter to form a required space into which a cap can be inserted, a second diameter-expanding step of expanding the inner diameter to form an expanded diameter end portion and completing the roller member from the other open end portion different from the open end portion on the side expanded in the first diameter-expanding step, a heating step of heating the expanded diameter end portion formed in the second diameter-expanding step with a heater from the inner wall side, a closing step of pressing and deforming the expanded diameter end portion heated in the heating step to close one end side of the roller member and complete the main body pipe, and an assembling step of inserting a fixed bearing into the diameter-expanded portion formed in the first diameter-expanding step and inserting a cap into the open end portion. The invention of a method for manufacturing a painting roller is characterized by being configured to include these steps.

[0017] The method for manufacturing a painting roller of the present invention heats and closes from the inner wall side of the expanded diameter end portion with a heater after expanding the inner diameter of the pipe material for the closing step, so that the brush portion wound around the outer peripheral surface is not deformed or deteriorated, and there is little influence on the painting work. At the same time, even for a product with a small diameter size of the painting roller, there is an effect that the efficiency of the assembling work hardly changes.

[0018] The present invention relates to a heating device for heating, from the inside, the end portion of the diameter expansion of a roller member in a state before the main body pipe formed of a thermoreversible resin is closed. The heating device includes a base portion on which a plurality of roller members can be placed, a guide shaft portion that is vertically provided on the base portion and places the roller members in proper positions, and a heater portion that is continuously provided on the base side of the guide shaft portion and heats the end portion of the diameter expansion from the inner wall side. The guide shaft portion is formed in a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the inner diameter bearing portion of the roller member, and the heater portion is formed in a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the end portion of the diameter expansion and with required dimensions slightly lower than the height of the end portion of the diameter expansion.

[0019] The heating device of the present invention can heat and melt the end portion of the diameter expansion to a required temperature with a heater from the inner wall side simply by setting the roller member. Therefore, the brush portion on the outer peripheral side is not deformed or deteriorated during heating. Further, after heating, it is only necessary to remove the roller member and press it against a workbench or the like, and the closing operation can be completed without using a mold or the like, which is effective in reducing man-hours.

Effects of the Invention

[0020] The paint roller of the present invention has the effect that the assembly work of the paint roller is easy, and further, it is less likely to cause insertion defects of the paint handle or rotation defects of the paint roller, and the finish of the painting work can be made clean.

[0021] The manufacturing method of the paint roller of the present invention heats and closes from the inner wall side of the roller member with a heater, so that the brush portion wound around the outer peripheral surface is not deformed or deteriorated, and the quality of the paint roller can be kept uniform. At the same time, even for a product with a small diameter size of the paint roller, the working efficiency hardly changes.

[0022] The heating device of the present invention can heat and melt the end portion of the diameter expansion to a required temperature from the inner wall side simply by setting it, so it has the effect of reducing man-hours.

Mode for Carrying Out the Invention

[0024] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. However, the drawings are schematically illustrated and do not necessarily match actual dimensions, ratios, etc. Also, there may be portions where the dimensional relationships and ratios between the drawings are different from each other.

[0025] As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the painting roller 1 according to the present invention is a hand tool used for the operation of applying paint by attaching a painting handle 60, causing the paint to be contained in the brush portion 20 of the painting roller 1, bringing it into contact with the surface to be painted, and rotatably rotating it.

[0026] The painting roller 1 includes a cylindrical main body tube 30 having a brush portion 20 containing paint attached to the outer periphery, a cap 40 having an insertion port 41 into which the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle is inserted and fitted at one opening end portion 31 of the main body tube 30, and a fixed bearing 50 disposed inside the main body tube 30 and removably inserted into the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle to hold the painting roller 1 rotatably without coming off from the painting handle 60 during operation.

[0027] The main body pipe 30 is formed integrally with the main body pipe 30 and includes an inner diameter bearing portion 32 that rotatably mounts the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle, a diameter-expanded portion 34 having a required space 33 where the fixed bearing 50 can be disposed, and a diameter-expanded end portion 37 formed on the other opening end portion 35 side different from the opening end portion 31 for forming the closing portion 36 of the main body pipe 30.

[0028] FIG. 3(A) is a front view and a side view of a conventional fixed bearing 70. The conventional fixed bearing 70 has a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter D2 smaller than the inner diameter D5 of the diameter-expanded portion 34, and a slit portion 71 is formed over the entire area in the direction along the length direction L1. Also, since the inner diameter D1 is formed slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle, when the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle is inserted, the slit portion 71 expands, expands in the radial direction and deforms so that the outer peripheral surface 72 becomes elliptical.

[0029] FIG. 3(B) is a front view and a side view of the fixed bearing 50 of the present embodiment. The fixed bearing 50 of the present embodiment has a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter D4 smaller than the inner diameter D5 of the diameter-expanded portion 34, and has three inner claws 51 protruding in the direction toward the center portion on the inner peripheral wall 52 and disposed over the entire area of the length direction L2. Also, the inner diameter D3 of the virtual circle formed by the gap between the tip ends of the respective inner claws 51 is formed slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle.

[0030] As shown in FIG. 4, the cap 40 of the present embodiment is formed by an insertion port 41 into which the tip shaft portion 61 of the painting handle can be inserted, a ring portion 42 formed in a substantially cylindrical shape with an outer diameter D6 slightly larger than the inner diameter D5 of the diameter-expanded portion 34, and a flange portion 43 formed in a substantially cylindrical shape with an outer diameter D7 larger than the outer diameter D6 of the ring portion 42.

[0031] In this embodiment, the materials of the main body pipe 30, the fixed bearing 50, and the cap 40 are polyethylene, but for example, thermoreversible resins such as polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride may be used. Further, the brush part 20 may be made of microfibers, sponges, or materials made of natural fibers using polyester, polypropylene, etc. as the material. Furthermore, the painting handle tip shaft part 61 may be formed of a round bar made of metal.

[0032] In this embodiment, by using the shape and materials as described above, when the metal painting handle tip shaft part 61 is inserted through the insertion port 41, the inner claws 51 of the fixed bearing 50 made of thermoreversible resin are expanded radially, and the painting handle tip shaft part 61 and the fixed bearing 50 are fixed, but the main body pipe 30 and the painting handle tip shaft part 61 are in a rotatable state. When removing the painting roller 1, if it is pulled out with the required force, the fixing between the painting handle tip shaft part 61 and the fixed bearing 50 is released and it can be removed.

[0033] The manufacturing method of the painting roller 1 of this embodiment will be described below. First, a pipe material 300 made of thermoreversible resin formed with an inner diameter suitable for the inner diameter bearing part 32 is cut to a required length suitable for a painting roller manufacturing apparatus (not shown) (first cutting step).

[0034] As shown in FIG. 5, while rotating the pipe material 300 cut in the first cutting step, a solvent 400 in which pellet materials made of thermoreversible resin are heated and melted is applied from above to the outer peripheral surface of the pipe material 300, and a strip-shaped brush material 500 is adhered while being spirally wound around the position where the application is finished (brush adhesion step).

[0035] Next, the pipe material 300 to which the brush material 500 is adhered is cut to the required length to be used as the main body pipe 30 (second cutting step). Furthermore, from one open end 31 of the pipe material 300 cut in the second cutting step, while disposing the fixed bearing 50, a required space 33 of a length that allows the cap 40 to be inserted is formed, and the inner diameter is expanded to a dimension D5, and the expanded portion 34 is formed by cutting (first diameter expansion step).

[0036] From the other open end 35 different from the open end 31 on the side expanded in the first diameter expansion step, in order to form the diameter expansion end portion 37, the inner diameter is expanded by cutting to form the roller member 11 in a state before closing one end side (second diameter expansion step). The diameter expansion end portion 37 of the roller member 11 formed in the second diameter expansion step is placed downward on the heating device 600 shown in FIG. 6 and heated by the heater portion from the inner wall side (heating step).

[0037] The heated roller member 11 in the heating step is removed from the heating device 600, and the diameter expansion end portion 37 is pressed against a workbench (not shown) or the like to be deformed to close one end side of the roller member 11 to form the closing portion 36 and complete the main body pipe 30 (closing step). The fixed bearing 50 is inserted into the expanded portion 34 formed in the first diameter expansion step, and the cap 40 is inserted into the open end 31 (assembly step). The painting roller 1 can be manufactured by the above steps.

[0038] The heating device 600 used in the present embodiment shown in FIG. 6 will be described below. The heating device 600 of the present embodiment includes a base portion 601 on which a plurality of roller members 11 can be placed, a cylindrical guide shaft portion 602 vertically provided on the base portion to guide the main body pipe to an appropriate position, and a heater portion 603 that is connected to the guide shaft portion 602 and disposed on the base portion 601 side and heats the diameter expansion end portion 37 from the inner diameter side in a cylindrical shape.

[0039] The guide shaft portion 602 is formed in a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the inner diameter bearing portion 32, and the heater portion 603 may be formed in a cylindrical shape with an outer diameter slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the diameter expansion end portion 37 and a required dimension slightly lower than the height of the diameter expansion end portion 35.

[0040] Here, when the difference between the outer diameter of the guide shaft portion 602 and the inner diameter of the inner diameter bearing portion 32 is defined as T1, and the difference between the outer diameter of the heater portion 603 and the inner diameter of the diameter-expanded end portion 37 is defined as T2, it may be set such that T1 is smaller than T2. By setting it in this way, when the roller member 11 is inserted into and removed from the heating device 600, an accident in which the roller member 11 comes into direct contact with the heater portion 603 can be prevented.

[0041] As described above, the best configuration, method, etc. for implementing the present invention are disclosed in the above description. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, in the above embodiment, the fixed bearing has been described as having three inner claws, but the number of inner claws is not particularly limited.

[0042] That is, without departing from the scope of the technical idea and object of the present invention, those skilled in the art can make various changes to the above-described embodiments and examples with respect to the shape, material, quantity, usage, position, or arrangement, etc. Therefore, the descriptions that limit the shape, etc. have been shown exemplarily for facilitating the understanding of the present invention and do not limit the present invention. Thus, the descriptions using the names of members with some or all of the limitations on those shapes removed are included in the present invention.
