Description

[Technical Field]

[0001] The present specification discloses a packaging container and a deployment body. [Background technology]

[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a packaging container that includes a bottom plate and face plates that are connected to two adjacent sides of the bottom plate, sandwiching a vertex therebetween. In the packaging container, flaps extending from the adjacent face plates engage with each other, causing the face plates to stand up from the bottom plate. [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]

[0003] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Publication No. 2020-93846 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0004] In the above-mentioned packaging container, the engaging flaps are connected to a base plate located on the side of the packaging container. Therefore, the shape of the flaps is limited by the height of the base plate, i.e., the thickness of the packaging container. For example, in the case of a thin packaging container, the flaps may be too small and it may be difficult to create a shape that allows them to engage with each other appropriately.

[0005] This specification provides a technique for preventing the size of the engagement piece from being limited by the thickness of the packaging container. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] A first aspect disclosed in this specification is a packaging container. The packaging container may include a bottom plate, a first side plate rising from the bottom plate, a second side plate rising from the bottom plate and adjacent to the first side plate at an angle, a first flap connected to an upper edge of the first side plate via a fold line, a first engagement piece disposed at an end of the first flap facing the second side plate, a second flap connected to an edge of the second side plate facing the first side plate via a fold line and extending toward the first side plate, and a second engagement piece connected to an upper edge of the second flap via a fold line and engaging with the first engagement piece.

[0007] In this packaging container, the first and second engaging pieces that engage with each other are positioned above the first and second side plates, which prevents the vertical dimensions of the first and second engaging pieces from being limited by the vertical lengths of the first and second side plates, i.e., the thickness of the packaging container.

[0008] A second aspect disclosed in the present specification is the first aspect, wherein the second flap is disposed so as to overlap the first side plate.

[0009] With this configuration, the boundary between the first side plate and the second side plate can be covered by the second flap, thereby preventing a gap communicating with the inside of the packaging container from being formed between the first side plate and the second side plate.

[0010] A third aspect disclosed in the present specification is the above-mentioned first or second aspect, wherein the second engagement piece is disposed adjacent to the first flap and may be located above the first side plate.

[0011] According to this configuration, the second engagement piece is arranged alongside the first flap, thereby making it possible to prevent the inside of the packaging container from being exposed from the upper end of the first side plate.

[0012] A fourth aspect disclosed in this specification is that, in any one of the first to third aspects, one of the first engagement piece and the second engagement piece may be engaged with the other engagement piece from above.

[0013] According to this configuration, by engaging one engagement piece with the other engagement piece from above, the first engagement piece and the second engagement piece can be easily engaged with each other.

[0014] A fifth aspect disclosed in the present specification is that, in any one of the first to fourth aspects, the packaging container may further include a cover plate connected to the upper edge of the second side plate via a fold line.

[0015] According to this configuration, the cover plate can be disposed integrally with the second side plate.

[0016] The sixth aspect disclosed in the present specification may be a deployment body that is made up of a single flat plate and that can be assembled into any one of the packaging containers of the first to fifth aspects.

[0017] The seventh aspect disclosed in this specification is an unfoldable body that is composed of a single flat plate and can be used to assemble the packaging container described in the fifth aspect above, and the part corresponding to the cover plate and the part corresponding to the second engagement piece may be connected to each other in a breakable manner.

[0018] With this configuration, the lid plate and the second engagement piece can be maintained in a connected state during the process of fabricating the packaging container from the unfolded body. As a result, the first side plate and the second side plate can be raised relative to the bottom plate, and the first engagement piece and the second engagement piece can be engaged with each other, and the lid plate connected to the second engagement piece can be maintained in a raised state relative to the bottom plate. This makes it easier to place the object to be packaged in the packaging container during the process of fabricating the packaging container from the unfolded body. [Figure 9] 8 is a perspective view illustrating the method for manufacturing a packaging container. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0020] (Example) The packaging container 10 shown in Fig. 1 is a container for storing one or more objects such as daily necessities and for delivery, storage, etc. The packaging container 10 has a rectangular parallelepiped shape. In a modified example, the packaging container 10 may have another shape such as a cube or a polygonal pillar shape.

[0021] In this embodiment, the up-down direction, the front-back direction, and the left-right direction are shown, including in the drawings. These up-down direction, the front-back direction, and the left-right direction are used to facilitate the explanation of this embodiment, and do not define the direction in which the packaging container 10 is used.

[0022] (Configuration of the deployed packaging container) As shown in Fig. 2, the packaging container 10 is assembled by folding the unfoldable body BL, which is made of a single flat plate, along folding lines. The folding lines are depicted by thin dashed lines. At least one of grooves, perforations, and slits is formed on the folding lines to facilitate folding. The unfoldable body BL is made of thin corrugated cardboard. The material of the unfoldable body BL, i.e., the packaging container 10, is not limited to corrugated cardboard, and may be, for example, cardboard, resin, etc.

[0023] The packaging container 10 includes a bottom plate 12, side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28, cover plates 34 and 38, flaps 32, 36, 52, 54, 56, and 58, engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, 68, 82, 84, 86, and 88, and insertion pieces 48. The bottom plate 12 has a rectangular flat plate shape. The side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 are attached to the bottom plate 12 via fold lines on the front edge and both left and right side edges. In the following description referring to the unfoldable body BL, when the up-down direction, front-rear direction, and left-right direction are used, the description may refer to directions in the packaging container 10. For example, in the unfoldable body BL, the side plate 22 and the flap 32 are arranged on the same flat plate, but the flap 32 may be described as being connected to the upper edge of the side plate 22.

[0024] The side plate 22 is connected to the left edge of the bottom plate 12 via a fold line 12a. The side plate 22 has a rectangular flat plate shape extending over the entire length of the bottom plate 12 in the front-to-rear direction. The side plate 24 is connected to the front edge of the bottom plate 12 via a fold line 12b. The side plate 24 has a rectangular flat plate shape extending over the entire length of the bottom plate 12 in the left-to-right direction. The side plate 26 is disposed symmetrically with the side plate 22. The side plate 26 is connected to the right edge of the bottom plate 12 via a fold line 12c. The side plate 28 is disposed symmetrically with the side plate 24 in the front-to-rear direction. The side plate 28 is connected to the rear edge of the bottom plate 12 via a fold line 12d.

[0025] A lid plate 34 is connected via a fold line to the edge of the side plate 24 opposite the bottom plate 12, i.e., the upper edge. The lid plate 34 has a rectangular, flat plate shape that extends the entire length of the bottom plate 12 in the left-right direction. In the front-to-rear direction, the lid plate 34 is shorter than the bottom plate 12. At the end of the lid plate 34 opposite the bottom plate 12, the length in the left-right direction is shorter to avoid the lid plate 34 coming into contact with the insertion piece 48 in the packaging container 10.

[0026] A cover plate 38 is connected via a fold line to the edge of the side plate 28 opposite the bottom plate 12, i.e., the upper edge. The cover plate 38 has a rectangular, flat plate shape that extends the entire length of the bottom plate 12 in the left-right direction. In the front-to-rear direction, the cover plate 38 is shorter than the bottom plate 12. In the front-to-rear direction, the total length of the cover plate 34 and the cover plate 38 is longer than the bottom plate 12. At the end of the cover plate 38 opposite the bottom plate 12, outwardly protruding insertion pieces 48, 48 are connected via fold lines to the left and right edges, respectively.

[0027] A flap 32 is connected via a folding line to the edge of the side panel 22 opposite the bottom panel 12, i.e., the upper edge. The flap 32 is shorter than the side panel 22 in the front-to-rear direction of the side panel 22. The flap 32 is not disposed at either end of the side panel 22 in the front-to-rear direction.

[0028] An engagement piece 82 is connected to the rear end of the flap 32. The engagement piece 82 extends rearward from the rear end of the flap 32. The rear edge of the engagement piece 82 is positioned slightly forward of the rear edge of the side plate 22. The engagement piece 82 has an engagement notch 82a that curves upward along the outline of the rear end of the side plate 22. An engagement piece 84 similar to the engagement piece 82 is connected to the front end of the flap 32. The engagement piece 84 is positioned symmetrically to the engagement piece 82 in the front-to-rear direction. The engagement piece 84 has an engagement notch 84a similar to the engagement notch 82a.

[0029] A flap 36 is connected via a fold line to the edge of the side panel 26 opposite the bottom panel 12, i.e., the upper edge of the packaging container 10. The flap 36 is arranged symmetrically with respect to the flap 32. Engagement pieces 86, 88 are connected to both ends of the flap 36 in the front-rear direction, respectively. The engagement pieces 86, 88 are arranged symmetrically with respect to the engagement pieces 84, 82, respectively. The engagement pieces 86, 88 have engagement notches 86a, 88a similar to the engagement notch 82a.

[0030] A flap 54 is connected to the left edge of the side panel 24 via a fold line. The flap 54 is disposed along the entire length of the left edge of the side panel 24. The flap 54 extends in a direction away from the side panel 24 as it moves away from the bottom panel 12. The length of the edge of the flap 54 opposite the bottom panel 12 matches the length from the front edge of the flap 32 to the front edge of the side panel 22.

[0031] An engagement piece 64 is connected to the upper edge of the flap 54 via a fold line. The engagement piece 64 extends in a direction away from the flap 54. The engagement piece 64 extends along the left edge of the cover plate 34. The engagement piece 64 is detachably connected to the cover plate 34 via a perforation 64a. The length of the engagement piece 64 in the direction along the cover plate 34 matches the length of the flap 32 in the direction away from the side plate 22. The engagement piece 64 has an engagement protrusion 74 on the edge opposite the cover plate 34. The engagement protrusion 74 has an engagement notch 74a to engage with the engagement piece 84.

[0032] A flap 56 similar to flap 54 is connected to the right edge of side panel 24 via a fold line. Flap 56 is disposed symmetrically relative to flap 54. An engagement piece 66 similar to engagement piece 64 is connected to flap 56 via a fold line. Engagement piece 66 is disposed symmetrically relative to engagement piece 64. Engagement piece 66 includes an engagement protrusion 76 and an engagement notch 76a similar to engagement protrusion 74 and engagement notch 74a.

[0033] Flaps 52, 58 similar to flaps 54, 56 are connected to both left and right end edges of the side panel 28 via fold lines. Each of the flaps 52, 58 is disposed symmetrically with respect to the front-rear direction relative to the flaps 54, 56. An engagement piece 62 is connected to the flap 52 via a fold line. An engagement piece 68 is connected to the flap 58 via a fold line. Each of the engagement pieces 62, 68 is disposed symmetrically with respect to the front-rear direction relative to the engagement pieces 64, 66. Each of the engagement pieces 62, 68 has engagement protrusions 72, 78 and engagement notches 72a, 78a similar to the engagement protrusions 74, 76 and engagement notches 74a, 76a, respectively.

[0034] (Manufacturing method of packaging containers) 3, when producing the packaging container 10 from the unfoldable body BL, a jig 100 can be used. It is also possible to produce the packaging container 10 from the unfoldable body BL without using a jig. The jig 100 raises the side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 relative to the bottom plate 12, and also engages the engagement pieces 62 and 82, 64 and 84, 66 and 86, and 68 and 88 with each other.

[0035] The jig 100 comprises a pair of forming surfaces 102, 102, a pair of forming corners 106, 106, and forming portions 104, 108, 110 arranged at the four corners of the bottom plate 12. Note that in Fig. 3, of the multiple forming surfaces 102, forming corners 106, and forming portions 104, 108, 110 arranged on the jig 100, only one forming surface 102, forming corner 106, and forming portion 104, 108, 110 is labeled with a reference symbol.

[0036] Each of the pair of forming surfaces 102, 102 is positioned to overlap the side plates 24, 28 of the deployable body BL, respectively. The forming surface 102 is positioned at an angle from the outside to the inside of the jig 100 with respect to the horizontal plane. Each of the pair of forming corners 106, 106 is positioned to overlap the side plates 22, 26 of the deployable body BL, respectively. The forming corners 106 have corners that protrude toward the inside of the jig 100. Each forming section 110 has a corner that is positioned to overlap the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, 88 of the deployable body BL, respectively. Each forming section 104 has an inclined surface that is positioned to overlap the flap 52 and engagement piece 62, the flap 54 and engagement piece 64, the flap 56 and engagement piece 66, and the flap 58 and engagement piece 68 of the deployable body BL, respectively. Each of the molded portions 108 has corners that are arranged at positions that overlap the front and rear ends of the side plates 22, 26 of the deployable body BL.

[0037] As shown in Fig. 4, when producing the packaging container 10, the unfolded body BL is placed on a jig 100. The bottom plate 12 is placed in a recess surrounded by a pair of forming surfaces 102, 102, a pair of forming corners 106, 106, and each of the forming portions 104, 108, 110. The bottom plate 12 is moved downward so as to be pressed into the recess. As a result, each of the engaging pieces 82, 84 comes into contact with the forming portion 110 and is bent from the flap 32 toward the inner surface of the flap 32. Similarly, the engaging pieces 86, 88 come into contact with the forming portion 110 and are bent from the flap 36 toward the inner surface of the flap 36.

[0038] The flap 52 and the engagement piece 62 are bent from the side plate 28 toward the inner surface of the side plate 28 by abutting against the shaped portion 104. The flap 58 and the engagement piece 68 are similarly bent from the side plate 28 toward the inner surface of the side plate 28. The flap 54 and the engagement piece 64 are similarly bent from the side plate 24 toward the inner surface of the side plate 24 by abutting against the shaped portion 104. The flap 56 and the engagement piece 66 are similarly bent from the side plate 24 toward the inner surface of the side plate 24 by abutting against the shaped portion 104.

[0039] Side plate 22 rises relative to bottom plate 12 at fold line 12a by abutting against formed corner portion 106 and formed portion 108. Side plate 26 similarly rises relative to bottom plate 12 at fold line 12c. As shown in FIG. 5 , when bottom plate 12 is further pressed into the recess of jig 100, side plate 24 rises relative to bottom plate 12 at fold line 12b by abutting against forming surface 102. Side plate 28 similarly rises relative to bottom plate 12 at fold line 12d. As bottom plate 12 is pressed further into the recess of jig 100, side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 rise perpendicular to bottom plate 12.

[0040] As shown in FIG. 6 , when the side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 rise, the engaging pieces 66 and 86 approach each other. Similarly, the engaging pieces 62 and 82 approach each other, the engaging pieces 64 and 84 approach each other, and the engaging pieces 68 and 88 approach each other. As shown in FIG. 7 , the engaging pieces 86 approach each other, and the engaging protrusions 76 pass through the engaging notches 86a of the engaging pieces 86, and the engaging pieces 86 engage with the engaging notches 76a of the engaging protrusions 76 from above at the engaging notches 86a. By folding the engaging pieces 86 toward the inside of the packaging container 10 relative to the flaps 36, the engaging pieces 86 receive the engaging protrusions 76, and the engaging pieces 66 and 86 engage with each other. Similarly, the engaging pieces 62 and 82 engage with each other, the engaging pieces 64 and 84 engage with each other, and the engaging pieces 68 and 88 engage with each other. According to this configuration, the engaging pieces 62, 64, 66, and 68 can be easily engaged with the engaging pieces 82, 84, 86, and 88, respectively.

[0041] As shown in FIG. 5, when the bottom plate 12 is pushed to the bottom of the recess of the jig 100, the side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 are raised vertically relative to the bottom plate 12.

[0042] 8, the engagement of the engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, 68 with the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, 88, respectively, maintains the side plates 22, 24, 26, 28 in an upright state relative to the bottom plate 12. With this configuration, the shapes of the engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, 68 and the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, 88 are not limited by the thickness of the packaging container 10. In particular, when the height of the side plates 22, 24, 26, 28 from the bottom plate 12 is low, i.e., when the packaging container 10 is thin, it is possible to avoid a situation in which the engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, 68 and the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, 88 become too small to form an appropriate engaging shape.

[0043] The engagement pieces 62, 68 are intermittently connected to the cover plate 38 by perforations 62a, 68a. This allows the cover plate 38 to be maintained side by side on the same flat plate as the side plate 28, as shown in Figure 8. Similarly, the cover plate 34 is intermittently connected to the engagement pieces 64, 66 by perforations 64a, 66a, allowing the cover plate 34 to be maintained side by side on the same flat plate as the side plate 24.

[0044] An object can be placed in the packaging container 10 in the state shown in FIG. 8 . To close the packaging container 10, as shown in FIG. 9 , each of the flaps 32, 36 is folded relative to the side panels 22, 26, respectively, until it faces the bottom panel 12. At this time, the cover panel 38 is separated from the engagement pieces 62, 68 by breaking the perforations. Similarly, the cover panel 34 is separated from the engagement pieces 64, 66. An opening 42 for inserting the insert piece 48 is formed at the boundary between the side panel 22 and the flap 32. Similarly, an opening 46 for inserting the insert piece 48 is formed at the boundary between the side panel 26 and the flap 36. The cover panel 34 is folded relative to the side panel 24 until it faces the bottom panel 12, and then the cover panel 38 is folded relative to the side panel 28 until it faces the bottom panel 12. The packaging container 10 is produced by inserting each of the insertion pieces 48 into the openings 42, 46.

[0045] The cover plates 34, 38 that close the packaging container 10 are connected to the side plates 24, 28, respectively. This eliminates the need to separate the cover plates 34, 38 from the other parts and place them separately.

[0046] The flap 52 is disposed so as to overlap the outer surface of the side plate 22. This makes it possible to prevent the formation of a gap between the side plate 22 and the side plate 28 that directly connects to the inside of the packaging container 10. Similarly, the flaps 54, 56, and 58 can also prevent the formation of a gap between the adjacent side plates.

[0047] In the packaging container 10, the shapes of the engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, 68 and the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, 88 can be determined regardless of the thickness of the packaging container 10. This configuration makes it possible to reduce delivery costs in situations where delivery costs vary depending on the thickness of the packaging container 10. Furthermore, when packaging a relatively thin object, it is possible to reduce the amount of material, such as cushioning material, that fills gaps.

[0048] Each of the engagement pieces 62, 64 is disposed adjacent to the flap 32. As a result, in the packaging container 10, the flap 32 and the engagement pieces 62, 64 are aligned along the upper edge of the side plate 22. This makes it possible to prevent the inside of the packaging container 10 from being exposed through the gap between the upper edge of the side plate 22 and the cover plates 34, 38.

[0049] (Correspondence) Each of the side plates 22 and 26 is an example of a "first side plate," and each of the side plates 24 and 28 is an example of a "second side plate." Each of the flaps 32 and 36 is an example of a "first flap," and each of the engagement pieces 82, 84, 86, and 88 is an example of a "first engagement piece." Each of the flaps 52, 54, 56, and 58 is an example of a "second flap," and each of the engagement pieces 62, 64, 66, and 68 is an example of a "second engagement piece."

[0050] Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described in detail above, these are merely examples and do not limit the scope of the claims. The technology described in the claims includes various modifications and alterations of the specific examples exemplified above.

[0051] (1) The bottom plate 12 may be a flat plate having a polygonal shape other than a rectangle. In this case, among the multiple side plates arranged on each side of the bottom plate 12, a first flap and a first engagement piece may be arranged to be connected to a first side plate of one of the adjacent side plates, and a second flap and a second engagement piece may be arranged to be connected to a second side plate of the other side plate. The corners of the bottom plate 12 may be curved. The side plates 22, 24, 26, and 28 do not have to be arranged at curved corners.

[0052] (2) The shapes of the first and second engagement pieces are not limited to the engagement piece 62 and the engagement piece 82. For example, the engagement protrusion 72 of the engagement piece 62 may engage with the engagement piece 82 from above. The same applies to the engagement pieces 64, 84, 66, 86, 68, and 88. Alternatively, for example, one of the first and second engagement pieces may have an opening, and the other engagement piece may have a portion that is inserted into the opening.

[0053] Furthermore, the technical elements described in this specification or drawings may exhibit technical utility either alone or in various combinations, and are not limited to the combinations described in the claims at the time of filing. Furthermore, the technologies illustrated in this specification or drawings simultaneously achieve multiple objectives, and achieving one of those objectives is itself technically useful.
