AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional methods for determining the molten metal and slag level in a blast furnace are inaccurate when the levels are unevenly distributed, as they rely on averaging measurements that do not account for local variations, and are prone to noise due to brick deterioration and damage, leading to difficulties in maintaining stable furnace operation.

Method used

A method and device that utilize an electromagnetic level meter to measure the molten metal and slag level by calculating a high/low ratio based on the product of measurement values from specific groups of tap holes, reducing the influence of noise and allowing for accurate determination of uneven liquid levels.

Benefits of technology

Enables precise determination of molten metal and slag levels, even when unevenly distributed, thereby improving the stability and efficiency of blast furnace operations by adjusting operating conditions.

Abstract

To provide a method and a device for determining the liquid level of molten pig iron and slag with which the state of the liquid level of the molten pig iron and slag in a blast furnace can be determined.SOLUTION: A method for determining a liquid level of molten pig iron and slag includes: a step of identifying a first taphole group including two or more tap holes from which molten pig iron and slag are tapped at the same time and a second taphole group including two or more tap holes from which molten pig iron and slag are not tapped at the time when molten pig iron and slag are tapped from the first taphole group, in a blast furnace in which four or more tap holes are provided in a circumferential direction of a furnace body; a step of acquiring a first measurement value group from two or more level meters provided at positions in the circumferential direction of the furnace body corresponding to the tap holes included in the first taphole group, and a second measurement value group from two or more level meters provided at positions in the circumferential direction of the furnace body corresponding to the tap holes included in the second taphole group; a step of calculating a high-low ratio of a liquid level of the molten pig iron and slag by using a first index that is a product of the first measurement value group and a second index that is a product of the second measurement value group; and a determination step of determining a state of the liquid level of the molten pig iron and slag based on the high-low ratio.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
