Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces and a method for cleaning hard surfaces, particularly to a liquid detergent composition and a method for cleaning hard surfaces in kitchens and surrounding areas where food is prepared by food service businesses, food processors, etc. [Background technology]
[0002] In kitchens and surrounding areas, particularly in food service establishments, cooking appliances such as ranges, ovens, and fryers, as well as the surrounding walls, floors, and ventilation fans, as well as food processing equipment, are prone to developing oily stains due to heat, sunlight, oxygen in the air, etc. In particular, the kitchens and food processing equipment of food service establishments that cook large amounts of food every day are prone to accumulating stubborn oily stains. To remove these stains, various cleaning agents for kitchens and surrounding areas have been developed and are being used, including those that use strong alkalinity to break down stains, combinations of solvents that take into account the affinity for denatured stains, and combinations of these base materials with various surfactants. A new method of using the detergent has been developed, which involves foaming the detergent to make it easier to adhere to the object and less likely to run off, allowing it to be left for a certain period of time and then rinsed away, resulting in high cleaning power. In other words, in addition to the conventional method of scrubbing with a sponge, a new method has been proposed in which the detergent is sprayed into a foam form, left to adhere to the surface, and then rinsed without scrubbing. Furthermore, foaming ability is an important physical property of a cleaning agent from the viewpoint of preventing dripping when foam is sprayed and improving adhesion to vertical surfaces.

Patent Document 2 also discloses a liquid detergent composition containing (a) a specific compound having one type of alkyl group selected from a 2-ethylhexyl group, an isononyl group, and an isodecyl group, (b) a specific surfactant, (c) a hydrophobic organic solvent that is liquid at 20°C, and (d) water in specific proportions. [0004] [Patent Document 1] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2012-126884 [Patent Document 2] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2007-31692 [Patent Document 3] Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 7-3289 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] Oily smoke and soot are generated when cooking ingredients, and the oil generated by heated fryers spreads. As a result of repeated cooking or long cooking times, oil stains in the kitchens of restaurants and food processing equipment at food processors adhere to hard surfaces around the kitchen, such as ceilings, floors, and ventilation fans, not to mention the area around cooking equipment, despite regular cleaning. These stains deteriorate and become solidified due to the effects of heat, sunlight, oxygen in the air, etc. Depending on the degree of deterioration, deteriorated oil can be difficult to clean, even with the same surfactant. The present invention provides a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces that has excellent foam retention and cleaning performance for denatured oily stains, particularly excellent cleaning performance when diluted, and a method for cleaning hard surfaces. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] The present invention relates to a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces, which contains (a) from 1% by mass to 10% by mass of a surfactant having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms, (b) from 0.5% by mass to 10% by mass of a short-chain nonionic surfactant having one alkyl group having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a)), (c) from 0.1% by mass to less than 5% by mass of one or more water-soluble organic solvents having an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a benzyl group, or an alkyleneoxy group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a) and component (b)), (d) an alkaline agent, and water, and which has a pH of 12.0 or higher at 25°C.
[0007] The present invention also relates to a method for cleaning a hard surface, which comprises contacting a hard surface with a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces having a pH of 12.0 or higher at 25°C, the composition containing (a) from 1 to 10% by mass of a surfactant having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms, (b) from 0.5 to 10% by mass of a short-chain nonionic surfactant having one alkyl group having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a)), (c) from 0.1 to 5% by mass of one or more water-soluble organic solvents having an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a benzyl group, or an alkyleneoxy group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a) and component (b)), (d) an alkaline agent, and water. [Effects of the Invention]
[0008] According to the present invention, there are provided a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces that has excellent foam retention and excellent cleaning performance for denatured oily stains, particularly excellent cleaning performance when diluted, and a method for cleaning hard surfaces. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The mechanism by which the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention has excellent cleaning performance for denatured oily soils, particularly when diluted, is not clear, but is presumed to be as follows. It is presumed that the interface between the denatured oily soil and the strongly alkaline detergent composition thickens, making it difficult to remove the denatured oily soil with a small amount of surfactant. In the hard surface liquid detergent composition of the present invention, it is presumed that the viscosity of the interface is reduced by the short-chain nonionic surfactant of component (b), thereby improving the cleaning performance of the surfactant of component (a). It is also believed that the foam retention of the hard surface liquid detergent composition is improved by including the component (c) in a specific amount. The liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces and the method for cleaning hard surfaces of the present invention are not limited to the above-mentioned mechanism of action. In the present invention, the properties of modified oils vary depending on the degree of modification, and modified oils with an advanced degree of modification, such as those used to remove baked-on stains, are sometimes called film oils, while modified oils with a lower degree of modification are sometimes called sticky oils. Although film oils and sticky oils have different properties, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention has excellent cleaning performance for both modified oils.
[0010] <Liquid cleaning composition for hard surfaces> The liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention contains (a) a surfactant having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms (hereinafter referred to as component (a)), (b) a short-chain nonionic surfactant having one alkyl group having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms (excluding those corresponding to component (a)) (hereinafter referred to as component (b)), (c) one or more water-soluble organic solvents having an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a benzyl group, or an alkyleneoxy group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms (excluding those corresponding to component (a) and component (b)) (hereinafter referred to as component (c)), (d) an alkaline agent (hereinafter referred to as component (d)), and water, and has a pH of 12.0 or higher at 25°C. Similarly, in accordance with the lauryl group, an organic group in which the terminal of a straight-chain saturated hydrocarbon group is a carbonyl carbon atom and the total carbon number, including the carbonyl carbon atom, is 12 is sometimes referred to as a lauroyl group.
[0012] The component (a) may be one or more surfactants selected from (a1) a nonionic surfactant having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms (hereinafter referred to as component (a1)), (a2) anionic surfactants having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms (however, in the case of fatty acids or compounds derived from fatty acids, the carbonyl carbon is included in the carbon number) (hereinafter referred to as component (a2)), (a3) cationic surfactants having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms (hereinafter referred to as component (a3)), and (a4) amphoteric surfactants having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms (hereinafter referred to as component (a4)). This pH is measured according to the following pH measurement method.
[0063] When the alkalinity of the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention is high, it is difficult to measure a pH exceeding 14. The liquid cleaning composition for hard surfaces is measured at a temperature adjusted to 25±1°C. If there are multiple rotors that satisfy the conditions, the value measured using the rotor with the smaller number is used.
[0066] The liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention may be a liquid detergent composition for use on the surface of a hard article. The hard article is preferably tableware and / or a hard article for use in the kitchen. Specific examples of the hard surface to be cleaned with the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention include the surfaces of the following hard articles: Hard items around the kitchen are items used around the kitchen, specifically: (1) Storage areas for food, tableware, and cooking utensils, such as refrigerators and cupboards, (2) Food preparation areas such as fryers, trivets, ovens, extractor fans, drains, countertops, range hoods, sinks, gas ranges, and microwave ovens; (3) Floors and walls around the storage area and cooking area In the present invention, these are referred to as "hard kitchen items" for convenience. In addition, the tableware, specifically, (i) Plates, bowls, and other tableware; (ii) Storage containers such as Tupperware and bottles, (iii) Cooking utensils such as knives, cutting boards, pots, frying pans, and fish grills; (iv) Food processors, mixers, and other cooking appliances In the present invention, these are referred to as "tableware" for convenience. Furthermore, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention is preferably intended for use on items selected from cooking areas, tableware, storage containers, cooking utensils, and kitchen appliances, and more preferably for use on items selected from fryers, trivets, gas ranges, ovens, extractor fans, plates, bowls, Tupperware, bottles, knives, cutting boards, pots, frying pans, fish grills, food processors, and mixers.
[0067] The liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention can be used to effectively clean tableware and / or kitchen hard objects made of plastics (including silicone resins, etc.), metals, ceramics, wood, and combinations thereof. The liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention can effectively clean oily stains containing denatured oils, particularly heat-denatured oils, adhering to the tableware and / or kitchen hard objects.
[0068] <How to clean hard surfaces> The present invention provides a method for cleaning a hard surface, which comprises contacting a hard surface with a liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces having a pH of 12.0 or higher at 25°C, the composition comprising: (a) 1 to 10 mass% of a surfactant having a chain hydrocarbon group having from 12 to 22 carbon atoms; (b) 0.5 to 10 mass% of a short-chain nonionic surfactant having one alkyl group having from 5 to 10 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a)); (c) 0.1 to 5 mass% of one or more water-soluble organic solvents having an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a hydroxyalkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a phenyl group, a benzyl group, or an alkyleneoxy group having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms (excluding those falling under component (a) and component (b)); (d) an alkaline agent; and water. The method for cleaning a hard surface of the present invention may be a method for cleaning a hard surface in which the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention is brought into contact with the hard surface.
[0069] In the method for cleaning a hard surface of the present invention, the hard surface may be the surface of a hard article. Specifically, the hard surface may be the hard surface of the article listed above in connection with the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention. In the method for cleaning hard surfaces of the present invention, preferred aspects of the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention, such as the components (a) to (d), water, and optional components contained in the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention, as well as the contents and pH of these components, are the same as those described for the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention.
[0070] When the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention (also referred to as undiluted solution) is brought into contact with oily stains containing denatured oil, particularly heat-denatured oil, the denatured oil is broken down into small pieces and floats off the target object (e.g., tableware and / or hard items around the kitchen). The method for bringing the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention into contact with the target object includes, for example, applying or spraying the composition in a foam state. It is preferable to dilute the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention before contacting the target surface. Therefore, in the cleaning method of the present invention, denatured oil stains can be easily removed without applying external force such as scrubbing, for example, by leaving the object for a certain period of time and then rinsing it with water. However, in the cleaning method of the present invention, the object surface may be cleaned by applying external force such as scrubbing.
[0071] In the cleaning method of the present invention, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces can be brought into contact with the surface of a hard article having oily soiling containing denatured oil, particularly heat-denatured oil, without dilution, and then rinsed without scrubbing. In the cleaning method of the present invention, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces can be brought into contact with the surface of a hard article having oily stains containing, for example, denatured oil, particularly heat-denatured oil, without being diluted, and can be cleaned without applying external force such as mechanical force. Cleaning the surface of a hard article without applying an external force such as a mechanical force means, for example, that no operation is performed to intentionally apply an external force for cleaning to the object other than contacting the composition. For example, the natural flow of the contacted composition down the surface of the hard article, or the transmission of vibrations not intended for cleaning to the hard article, can be understood as cleaning the surface of a hard article without applying an external force such as a mechanical force. "Bringing the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces into contact without dilution with the surface of a hard article having oily soiling containing denatured oil, particularly heat-denatured oil," means that the detergent composition is not brought into contact with a hard article having oily soiling containing liquid oil derived from food after intentionally diluting it with water, etc. For example, when the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces is brought into contact with a hard article having water droplets or the like attached thereto, or when water droplets adhere to the hard article after the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces has been brought into contact with the hard article, this can be understood as meaning that the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces has been brought into contact without dilution with a hard article having oily soiling containing denatured oil, particularly heat-denatured oil, attached thereto. After leaving the hard article, the hard article is rinsed with water. When rinsing, external force (physical force) may be applied by hand or the like, or simply rinsed with running water.
[0072] In the cleaning method of the present invention, the liquid detergent composition is brought into contact with a hard article having oily soiling containing a denatured oil, particularly a heat-denatured oil, and then the hard article is left to stand and rinsed with water. When rinsing with water after contact, external force such as mechanical force may or may not be applied using a flexible material such as a sponge or fingers.
[0073] In the cleaning method of the present invention, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces of the present invention may be diluted with water and used in the cleaning method. In the cleaning method of the present invention, when the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces is diluted with water, the dilution ratio is preferably more than 1, more preferably 2 or more, even more preferably 4 or more, and preferably 100 or less, more preferably 80 or less, and even more preferably 20 or less.
[0074] In the cleaning method of the present invention, from the viewpoint of further enhancing cleaning performance, the liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces is allowed to stand after contact with the hard article for preferably 10 seconds or more, more preferably 20 seconds or more, even more preferably 30 seconds or more, still more preferably 40 seconds or more, still more preferably 50 seconds or more, still more preferably 1 minute or more, and from the viewpoint of further reducing the cleaning burden on the user, it is preferably allowed to stand for preferably 60 minutes or less, more preferably 30 minutes or less, even more preferably 20 minutes or less, still more preferably 10 minutes or less, still more preferably 5 minutes or less. In this case, the time when the composition first comes into contact with the hard article may be considered to be the start of the standing period. The temperature at which it is left standing is room temperature, for example, 10°C or higher and 30°C or lower. [Example]
[0075] Liquid detergent compositions for hard surfaces shown in Table 1 were prepared using the following components (a) to (e), and the following items were evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1. The pH (25°C) of each liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces shown in Table 1 was adjusted to the value shown in Table 1 using an alkaline agent. The mass % of each component in Table 1 is all based on the pure content.

[0078] (1) Detergency of denatured oil when diluted The detergency for denatured oil of each of the hard surface liquid detergent compositions in Table 1 when diluted was evaluated by the following method. This evaluation was conducted to evaluate the detergency for sticky oil stains that are slightly denatured and adhere to fryers, etc. (i) Pretreatment of SUS plate A SUS304 test piece (1.0 × 25 × 70 mm) manufactured by Engineering Test Services Co., Ltd. was washed with a sponge using neutral dishwashing detergent, then rinsed (once with tap water and twice with deionized water) and dried in an electric dryer at 80°C. (ii) Preparation of modified oil First, rapeseed oil (manufactured by Fujifilm Wako Pure Chemical Industries, Ltd.) was placed in a petri dish and heated in an oven at 180°C for 24 hours to prepare a thermally denatured oil. Next, the prepared thermally denatured oil and chloroform were mixed in a ratio of 20 g of thermally denatured oil to 60 mL of chloroform to prepare a chloroform solution containing the thermally denatured oil. (iii) Evaluation of cleaning performance A chloroform solution containing modified oil was applied at 1 mg / cm2 to an area of 25 x 50 mm on one side of a SUS plate. 2 The oil was poured once using a dropper so that the surface was covered with oil. The surface was left to dry flat overnight with the oily side facing up. Next, three SUS plates were placed on a balance dish BD-3 (140 x 140 x 25 mm), and a Biore u foam pump former was used to foam the hard surface liquid detergent composition shown in Table 1, diluted 5 times, onto the SUS plates to cover the dirt. The plates were then left to stand for 5 minutes. The plates were then rinsed with tap water for 1 minute at 300 rpm using a Lenauts tester, and then left to dry overnight. The mass of the SUS plate before the chloroform solution containing the modified oil was attached (initial mass), the mass of the SUS plate before cleaning (mass before cleaning), and the mass of the SUS plate after cleaning (mass after cleaning) were each weighed using a four-digit balance, and the cleaning rate (mass%) was calculated using the following formula (1). The cleaning performance was evaluated using three SUS plates for each type of liquid detergent composition for hard surfaces, and the average cleaning rate for the three plates was calculated. The evaluation was then conducted based on the average cleaning rate calculated according to the following criteria. The results are shown in Table 1. The higher the cleaning rate, the better the detergent composition's ability to clean denatured oil when diluted. In particular, this composition is excellent at cleaning sticky oil stains even after short-term treatment. A cleaning performance rating of "A" or "B" is preferable because it has high cleaning performance for denatured oil. Cleaning rate (mass%) = [(mass before cleaning) - (mass after cleaning)] / [(mass before cleaning) - (initial mass)]] × 100 (1) <Evaluation criteria> A: The cleaning rate was 90% or more by mass, and the dirt was completely removed. B: The cleaning rate was 60% by mass or more and 89% by mass or less, and the dirt was removed. C: The cleaning rate was 41% by mass or more and 59% by mass or less, and the stain remained. D: The cleaning rate was 40% by mass or less, and most of the dirt remained.
[0079] (2) Evaluation of foam retention Each hard surface liquid cleaning composition in Table 1 was placed in a trigger-type spray container specifically designed for use with KPS Powerful Disinfecting Cleaner, and the trigger of the spray container was pulled once to dispense 1 mL of the hard surface liquid cleaning composition in foam form from the spray container, and the foam retention of the composition was evaluated. The foam retention was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria. The results are shown in Table 1. The longer the foam is retained, the better the foam retention of the hard surface liquid cleaning composition. A rating of "A" or "B" indicates good foam retention and is preferred. <Evaluation criteria> A: The foam was maintained for 6 minutes or more after the composition was discharged. B: The foam disappeared within 4 minutes or more and less than 6 minutes after the composition was discharged. C: The bubbles disappeared within 2 minutes or more and less than 4 minutes after the composition was discharged. D: The foam disappeared within 2 minutes after the composition was discharged.
[0080] (3) Evaluation of high-temperature storage stability The liquid detergent compositions for hard surfaces of Examples 1 to 4 in Table 1 were placed in transparent plastic containers and allowed to stand in a thermostatic bath at 50°C, after which the appearance of the compositions was visually observed. The high-temperature storage stability was evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria. The evaluation of high-temperature storage stability in Examples 1-4 was "A," indicating that the compositions had excellent high-temperature storage stability. <Evaluation criteria> A: The appearance of the composition did not change for more than 20 days after preparation. B: The appearance changed 10 to 20 days after the composition was prepared. C: The appearance changed 2 days or more but less than 10 days after the composition was prepared. D: The appearance changed within one day after the composition was prepared.
[0081] [Table 1]
[0082] In addition, in the compositions of the examples shown in Table 1, liquid detergent compositions for hard surfaces in which the 2-ethylhexylglyceryl ether of component (b) is replaced with n-hexylglyceryl ether, 2-hexyloxyethanol, ethylene glycol-mono(2-ethylhexyl) ether or diethylene glycol-mono(2-ethylhexyl) ether are also products of the present invention, and are compositions that have excellent (1) denatured oil cleaning properties when diluted and (2) foam retention.
