8. The device of claim 2 , wherein a saddle is defined by a portion of the annular wall disposed between the pair of abutment areas, the portion of the annular wall being inclined relative to a surface of the pair of abutment areas.

An article carrier for packaging at least one article, comprising: the article carrier comprises at least one primary panel forming a handle structure; the at least one primary panel comprising a handle portion and at least one article retention structure for engaging an article to provide a top-handle article carrier; the at least one item retaining structure comprises a receiving opening having a boundary including a first edge and an opposing second edge; the second edge is defined by a series of distal ends of engagement teeth that provide the engagement edge; the first edge is positioned closer to the handle portion than the second edge; An article carrier, wherein the first edge is curved such that a center of curvature of the first edge is located closer to the second edge than to the first edge.

17. An article carrier as described in claim 15, wherein the relief notch is positioned on the inside of the receiving opening opposite the outside of the receiving opening.
