[0103] In this embodiment, the second layer 12 is a metallized layer 12. The metallized layer 12 is provided on the first layer 11, which is a paper-based material 11. That is, the metallized layer may be deposited or otherwise applied to the paper-based material 11. In this embodiment, the metallized layer 12 provides an initial barrier for the paper-based material 11 to prevent or at least reduce the passage of moisture and / or aroma through the wrapper 7. That is, the metallized layer 12 is substantially impermeable. The metallized layer may have a weight of about 0.1 grams per meter. In some embodiments, the metallized layer may be aluminum or any other suitable metal.

[0104] Thus, in this embodiment, the first and second layers combined effectively form a type of barrier coated paper. It will be appreciated that during the manufacture of the packaging material 7, paper layer 11 may be provided and second layer 12 may be applied to paper layer 12 to form a coated or barrier paper. Alternatively, the manufacture of the packaging material 7 may begin with a coated or barrier paper, thereby eliminating the step of providing a barrier material or coating to paper layer 11.

[0105] In some embodiments, as shown in Figure 2, the third layer 13 is a barrier coating and is provided on the second layer 12, in this example a metallized layer 12. The second layer 12 provides a smooth surface to allow for application of the barrier coating 13. The metallized layer 12 as the second layer provides a barrier to prevent penetration of the barrier coating 13 into the first layer 11, which in this example is a paper layer. Thus, the barrier coating can be applied as a tight film that increases the impermeability of the packaging material 7.

[0106] Preferably, the barrier coating of the third layer 13 forms the inner surface of the wrapper 7. Thus, the barrier coating 13 faces inwards and cannot be damaged by contact with the consumer or the outer container 2.

[0107] As mentioned above, the wrapper 7 is sealed by closing its opening, for example by adhesively sealing its opening. In this embodiment, the wrapper 7 is sealed at its overlapping edges 10a. The wrapper 7 may be sealed by gluing the overlapping edges 10a of the wrapper 7 together when it is folded to form the inner container 6. The adhesive 10 may be provided such that when the wrapper 7 is folded to form the inner container 6, there is a continuous portion of adhesive extending along each of the overlapping edges 10a of the wrapper 7. The adhesive 10 may be provided on the wrapper 7 such that the adhesive 10 is not visible when the wrapper 7 is folded to form the inner container 6.

[0108] The seal helps to keep the contents fresh. The seal can also ensure that the wrapper is sealed such that water vapor and / or air cannot freely flow into the inner container 6 (except through the drawer area once opened to access the at least one aerosol delivery system 8). This is in contrast to configurations where the wrapper is formed to surround the at least one aerosol delivery system, for example by application of folds and limited application of adhesive, but is not sealed by closure of that opening, and thus presents openings or gaps through which the free flow of air is permitted. In such configurations, limited application of adhesive, such as spot adhesive, can be used to keep the folds in place, but does not necessarily preclude the free flow of water vapor and / or air through any openings or gaps presented by the shape of the folds.

[0109] It should be noted that the packaging material 7 may be sealed such that water vapor and / or air cannot freely flow into the inner container 6, but need not necessarily be airtightly sealed. For example, water vapor and / or air or other gases may still be able to diffuse through the material of the packaging material into the inner container 6, however, this is not considered to be a free flow of water vapor and / or air or other gases since the movement of water vapor and / or air or other gases is hindered by the material of the packaging material. That is, the adhesive seal along the overlapping edges 10a of the packaging material 7 is sealed such that water vapor and / or air or other gases cannot pass between the overlapping portions of the packaging material 7, but air may still pass through the packaging material 7 to some extent.

[0110] In some embodiments, the packaging material 7 is sealed such that the inner container 6 is airtight sealed. A hermetically sealed inner container 6 keeps the contents fresher for longer. The inner container 6 may be hermetically sealed at least prior to its initial opening by providing an adhesive 10, 20 on at least one of the outer surfaces of the packaging material 7. In this embodiment, an adhesive 10 is provided on the outer surface of the packaging material 7 and an adhesive 10 is provided on the inner surface of the packaging material 7, as described in more detail below.

[0111] The adhesive 10 may be, for example, but is not limited to, a glue, lacquer, or heat seal adhesive. In some embodiments, the adhesive is configured to have a sealing temperature in the range of greater than about 50° C., for example, about 60° C. to about 65° C. This allows the activation temperature of the adhesive to be achieved in the short time that the packaging material 7 and adhesive 10 are between the sealing plates of a manufacturing apparatus (not shown), for example, approximately 0.2 seconds. Furthermore, this sealing temperature is sufficiently higher than the operating temperature of the apparatus to prevent undesirable significant premature activation of the adhesive.

[0112] In some embodiments, the overlapping edges of the wrapper 7 may be sealed using an adhesive, although the seal need not be airtight. In some conditions, for example tropical conditions such as 30° C. and 90% relative humidity (1249 ASTM), the wrapper 7 may have a water vapor permeability of less than 8 g / m2 / 24hr. In some conditions, the wrapper 7 may have a water vapor permeability of less than 6 g / m2 / 24hr at 30° C. and 90% relative humidity (1249 ASTM).

[0113] For example, a blank 45 for forming a wrapper 7 is shown in Figures 3 and 4. The wrapper 7 may include adhesive extending around the entire perimeter or edge 47 of its inner surface 46, as shown in Figure 3, and may also include adhesive extending around at least a portion of the perimeter or edge 49 of its outer surface 48, as shown in Figure 4. In the illustrated embodiment, the blank 46 includes adhesive 10 on its front base flap forming edge 49a and rear side flap forming edges 49b, 49c.

[0114] 5, 6, 7 and 8, various different embodiments of packaging material 7 are shown. It will be understood that the terms first layer, second layer, and third layer are used to distinguish features of packaging material 7 and are not necessarily provided in the order implied by the ordinal adverb. That is, the present application may refer to a packaging material 7 having two layers, in the form of a first layer and a third layer, where there is no second layer. Thus, the feature referred to as the third layer is physically the second layer.

[0115] 5 shows an exemplary packaging material 7 that includes a first layer 11. The first layer 11 includes a paper-based material in the form of a barrier paper. That is, the first layer 11 includes a paper layer 11a and a barrier material 9 in the form of a metallic coating. In this embodiment, the barrier material 9 is located on an inner surface of the paper layer 11a.

[0116] An alternative example shown in Figure 6 shows a packaging material including a first layer 11 formed from a paper-based material in the form of a barrier paper 11b, with a barrier material 9 within the paper layer 11a such that they form a single layer of material. The barrier material 9 may be, for example but not limited to, metal or plastic.

[0117] 7, there is shown a wrapper 7 including a first layer 11 formed by a paper layer 11a and a second layer 12. In this embodiment, the second layer 12 is located on the inner surface of the paper layer 11a.

[0118] 8, there is shown a wrapper 7 including a first layer 11 formed by a paper layer 11a and a third layer 13 on the paper layer 11a. In this embodiment, the third layer 13 is located on the inner surface of the paper layer 11a. The second layer 12 is not required.

[0119] As discussed above with respect to the second layer, it will be appreciated that in some embodiments the first layer 11 and the third layer 13 may be combined to effectively form a type of barrier coated paper. It will be appreciated that during the manufacture of the packaging material 7, the paper layer 11 may be provided and the third layer 13 may be applied to the paper layer 11 to form a plastic or varnish coated paper or barrier paper. Alternatively, the manufacture of the packaging material 7 may begin with a plastic or varnish coated paper or barrier paper, thereby eliminating the step of providing the paper layer 11 with a plastic barrier material or coating.

[0120] It will further be understood that in some embodiments, the second and / or third layers 12, 13 may be located on an outer surface of the first layer 11. It will further be understood that in some embodiments, the second layer 12 may be on one side of the first layer 11 and the third layer may be on the other side of the first layer 11.

[0121] 1, the wrapper 7 includes a withdrawal area 15 formed from a removable region 7a of the wrapper 7. A boundary or edge 16 of the withdrawal area 15 formed from the removable region 7a of the wrapper 7 to allow access to the aerosol delivery system 8 is shown with a dotted line. In the illustrated embodiment, the edge 16 of the withdrawal area 15 extends from the rear side of the wrapper 7 across the top of the inner container 6 and down the front side to the withdrawal area edge 16a of the lower front wall.

[0122] The inner container 6 further comprises a resealable label 18. The resealable label 18 is configured to cover the withdrawal area 15. The resealable label 18 includes a periphery 19 that extends beyond the withdrawal area 15 such that the inner container 6 is sealed when the label 18 covers the withdrawal area 15. The resealable label 18 is peelable from the wrapper 7 during use to open the withdrawal area 15 and provide access to the at least one aerosol delivery system 8 within the inner container 6.

[0123] A resealable label 18 is located on the withdrawal area 15 for sealingly closing the inner container 6. The label 18 may also be formed from the same sheet of material as the wrapper 7. The sheet of material forming the label 18 has a re-sticky adhesive on its underside closer to the wrapper 7. The re-sticky adhesive 20 may also be present on the outer surface of the wrapper 7. Alternatively, there may be a permanent bonding adhesive on the underside of the label 18 in the portion that does not overlap the edge of the sheet of material of the label 18, i.e., the portion that overlaps the removable area 7a of the wrapper 7. However, if the label 18 extends beyond the edge 16 of the withdrawal area 15, the underside is provided with a re-sticky adhesive.

[0124] In one embodiment, beyond one lower front wall edge 21 of the label 18 is a tab 22 that is at least partially free of re-sticky adhesive, which a user may use to flip up and pull the label 18 to open the inner container 6.

[0125] Upon first use, the edge 16 of the withdrawal area 15 may be defined by a line of weakness in the wrapper 7. The line of weakness in the wrapper 7 may be formed by at least one partial cut through the thickness of the wrapper 7. When the label 18 is pulled back, the portion 7a of the wrapper 7 is separated from the remainder of the wrapper 7 to open the withdrawal area 15, and the consumer is then free to remove the aerosol delivery device 8 from the inner container 6 through the withdrawal area 15, after which the withdrawal area 15 is resealed or closed by depressing the tab 22, and the edge of the label 18 reattaches to the adjacent portion of the wrapper 7 surrounding the withdrawal area 15. The area 7a of the wrapper 7 formed by the separation when the tab 22 is lifted is returned to its previous position. The wrapper 7 has a line of separation, which is covered by the adhesive edge of the label 18. It will be understood that in some embodiments of the package, the package may not include a peelable label, but may instead have some other form of opening, i.e., an adhesive flap.

[0126] 9, the package 1 may optionally further comprise an inner frame 25. The inner frame 25 may be located inside the wrapping material 7 of the inner container 6. To ensure efficient bonding, the inner frame 25 may be provided within the inner container 6 such that the inner frame 25 extends around the aerosol delivery system 8 underneath the wrapping material 7.

[0127] The inner frame 25 provides a reaction surface under the wrapper 7 against resealing pressure exerted by the label 18 around the perimeter of the withdrawal area 15. As shown in FIG. 5, the inner frame 25 has a front panel 26, two side flaps 27, and a top flap 28. A score or fold line 30 forms a corner when the side flap 27 is folded at a right angle to the panel 26, as seen in FIG. 9. The top flap 28 is also folded at a right angle. When the inner frame 25 is folded, it can be seen that an aperture 31 is formed which allows access to the aerosol delivery system 8, as shown in FIG. 9. The aperture 31 extends to the base edge 33 of the front panel 26.

[0128] Because it is relatively difficult to grasp tab 22 to remove label 18, in a modified embodiment shown in Figure 10, label 18 and / or tab 22 may be attached to the inner surface 35 of the front wall of lid 4, such that when lid 4 is opened, label 18 is simultaneously peeled back to expose withdrawal area 15. In particular, as shown in Figure 10, when lid 4 is in the open position, removable area 7a of wrapper 7 is pulled back to expose withdrawal area 15, allowing the consumer to easily withdraw delivery system 8 from inner container 6.

[0129] To accomplish simultaneous opening of the lid 4 and label 18, the label 18 includes a tab 37 on a lower edge of the label 18. The tab 37 may be folded about a fold line 38 to separate the tab 37 from the remainder of the label 18, such that a surface 39 of the tab 37, shown in Figure 11, abuts or faces the exterior surface 36 of the label 18 when the lid 4 is closed. An opposite surface 40 of the tab 37, which faces outward, may be attached to an interior surface 41 of the lid 4 using a permanent adhesive in the manner and location as shown in Figures 10 and 11.

[0130] It will also be appreciated that the outer surface of the tab 37 can be permanently adhered to the inner surface 41 of the lid 4 without being folded over prior to adhesion. In such a configuration, the tab 37 is folded over against the remainder of the label 18 when the lid is in the open position.

[0131] When the lid 4 is pivoted to its open position about the hinge 5, the label 18 is also pulled by the connection between the tab 37 and the lid 4. This causes the label 18 to be peeled or rolled up from the withdrawal area 15 along with the portion 7a of the wrapper 7. When the package 1 is opened for the first time, the area 7a is also separated from the remainder of the wrapper 7 along the line of weakness that separates the area 7a from the remainder of the wrapper 7 when the lid 4 is opened. When the lid 4 is opened, the tab 37 pivots relative to the remainder of the label 18 about the fold line 38.

[0132] It will be appreciated that as the lid 4 rotates about the hinge 5 back to its closed position, as shown in Figure 12, the label 18 retracts across the drawer area 15 and the area 7a of the wrapper 7 repositions itself within the drawer area 15. The peelable adhesive coating on the peripheral area of the label 18 also re-adheres to the wrapper 7 surrounding the drawer area 15, thereby sealingly closing the inner container 6 and closing the package 1.

[0133] Furthermore, each component of the package is formed from a paper-based material, i.e., the outer container 2 and the inner container 6, as well as the inner frame, if included, are all formed from a paper-based material. Furthermore, this means that the package 1 does not include a plastic overwrap as is common in known packages. In fact, the construction of the wrapper 7 means that no plastic overwrap is required to keep the contents of the package 1 fresh.

[0134] In some embodiments, the wrapping material 7 has a weight of less than 80 grams per square meter (gsm). In some embodiments, the wrapping material 7 has a weight of less than 70 gsm. In some embodiments, the wrapping material 7 has a weight of less than 50 gsm. In some embodiments, the wrapping material 7 has a weight of less than 45 gsm. In some embodiments, the paper-based material 11 has a paper weight of less than 70 grams per square meter (gsm). In some embodiments, the paper-based material 11 has a paper weight of less than 50 gsm. In some embodiments, the paper-based material 11 has a paper weight of less than 45 gsm.

[0135] Having a packaging material 7 that is light weight, i.e., low gsm, i.e., less than 80 gsm, means that the thickness of the packaging material 7 is smaller. The lighter the packaging material 7, the less material is used. This is better for the environment in terms of resources needed to manufacture the packaging material 7 and for recycling purposes. A thinner packaging material 7 reduces the resistance of the packaging material 7 to folding. This helps to avoid the build-up of thick layers of material at the folded corners of the container 6 and to avoid puncturing the seals of the packaging material in these areas of material build-up. Thus, a lower gsm barrier material helps to keep the contents fresher for longer by reducing gaps in the seals.

[0136] In some embodiments, the wrapper 7 comprises at least 90% of the first material. The first material may be a paper-based material. In some embodiments, the wrapper 7 may also have a water vapor permeability of less than 8 g / m2 / 24 hours or less than 6 g / m2 / 24 hours, tested to ASTM F1249 at 38° and 90% relative humidity.

[0137] A large percentage of a single material increases the likelihood that the material is easily recyclable. Additionally, low water vapor permeability prevents water vapor from passing through the packaging material 7 so that the inner container 6 can keep its contents fresher for longer.

[0138] In some embodiments, packaging material 7 comprises at least 92.5% of the first material. In other embodiments, packaging material 7 comprises at least 95% of the first material. In yet other embodiments, packaging material 7 comprises at least 98.5% of the first material. In some embodiments, the percentage of the first material is calculated based on the weight of the first material and packaging material 7.

[0139] Preferably, the water vapor permeability of the first material is less than 6 g / m2 / 24 hours at 30° C. and 90% relative humidity (1249 ASTM). More preferably, the water vapor permeability of the first material is less than 5 g / m2 / 24 hours, more preferably less than 3 g / m2 / 24 hours, even more preferably less than 1 g / m2 / 24 hours under the same conditions as above. The lower the water vapor permeability of the first material, the longer the components and / or articles and / or delivery system in the inner container 6 can remain fresh.

[0140] Preferably, the packaging material 7 is recyclable. Preferably, the first material is compostable. Preferably, the first material is a non-plastic material. The first material may be, for example, but is not limited to, paper.

[0141] In some embodiments, the wrapper 7 may include a second material. The second material may be metal. The first and second materials may be arranged in layers to form the wrapper that forms the inner container 6. Preferably, the second material forming the second layer is applied as a coating to the first material forming the first layer. The metal layer may protect the paper layer from damage.

[0142] The packaging material 7 may include less than 10% by weight of the second material. In other embodiments, the packaging material 7 includes less than 5% of the second material. In yet other embodiments, the packaging material 7 includes less than 2.5% of the second material. In some embodiments, the percentage of the second material is calculated based on the mass of the second material and the packaging material 7.

[0143] In some embodiments, the wrapper 7 may include a third material. The third material may be plastic. The first, second, and third materials may be arranged in layers to form the wrapper 7 that forms the inner container 6, as described above. Preferably, the third material forming the third layer is applied as a coating to the second material forming the second layer. The third material may be a plastic coating.

[0144] The second layer of metal may be partially absorbed by the first paper layer so as to form a good connection with the first layer to provide a smooth outer surface. A plastic coating layer may be applied to the second metal layer. Because the metal layer is smooth, the plastic coating layer does not have holes in it. This prevents air and water vapor from passing through the third layer of plastic. The plastic coating may be impermeable.

[0145] The wrapping material 7 may include less than 10% by weight of the third material. In other embodiments, the wrapping material 7 includes less than 5% of the third material. In yet other embodiments, the wrapping material 7 includes less than 2.5% of the third material. In some embodiments, the percentage of the third material is calculated based on the mass of the third material and the wrapping material 7.

[0146] In some embodiments, the packaging material 7 may further comprise a clay layer 50, as shown in FIG. 13. The packaging material 7 may comprise a first clay layer 50a on the inner surface of the first layer, which in this embodiment is a paper-based material 11, such as paper. The first clay layer 50a may be located between the first layer 11 and a second layer, which in this embodiment is a metallized layer 12. Alternatively, the first clay layer 50a may be located between the first layer 11 and a third layer 13, which may be a plastic or varnish coating. Thus, the metallized layer 12 or barrier coating 13 is applied to the inner surface of the first clay layer 50a. The first clay layer 50a forms a layer onto which the metallized layer can be more easily attached.

[0147] The packaging material 7 may further include a second clay layer 50b on an outer surface of the first layer 11. The second clay layer 50b may form an outer surface of the packaging material 7 upon which indicia may be printed.

[0148] It was noted above that the construction of the wrapper 7 results in the package 1 not needing a plastic overwrap. Thus, the package 1 may not include an overwrap or outermost wrapper that extends around the base 3 and lid 4 of the outer container 2.

[0149] It will be appreciated, however, that package 1 may be provided with an outer wrapper formed from the same material as wrapper 7. That is, in some embodiments, package 1 may further include wrapper 7 as previously described, and may further include an outer wrapper having the same structure as the embodiments of wrapper 7 described above. The outer wrapper may be formed from a paper-based material. It will be further appreciated that wrapper 7 within package 1 and the outer wrapper positioned about the exterior surface of package 1 need not be of the same structure or configuration.

[0150] The outer wrapper may include a first layer 11 formed of a paper-based material. The first layer may be a paper-based material including a paper layer 11a, coated paper, or a barrier layer 9. The paper-based material may form an outer surface of the outer wrapper.

[0151] The outer wrapper may further include a second layer 12 and / or a third layer 13. The second layer 12 may be a metallized layer provided on the first layer 11. The metallized layer may provide an initial barrier to the first layer to prevent, or at least reduce, the passage of moisture and / or aromas through the outer wrapper. Thus, the first and second layers combined may effectively form a type of barrier coated paper.

[0152] The third layer 13 may be a barrier coating that may be provided on the first layer or the second layer. If present, the second layer may prevent the barrier coating from penetrating into the paper-based layer. The barrier coating may be applied as a solid film, thereby increasing the impermeability of the outer packaging material.

[0153] The outer wrapper may be sealed by closing its opening, for example by adhesively sealing the opening. The outer wrapper may be sealed at its overlapping edges 10a. The adhesive may be provided such that when the outer wrapper is folded around the outer container 2, there is a continuous portion of adhesive extending along each of the overlapping edges 10a of the outer wrapper. In some embodiments, the outer wrapper may be sealed such that the package 1 is hermetically sealed. The adhesive 10 used may be the same type of adhesive as described above with respect to the adhesive 10 used for the wrapper 7.

[0154] In an exemplary embodiment, the outer wrapper may include a first layer 11. The first layer 11 may include a paper-based material in the form of a barrier paper. That is, the first layer 11 includes a paper layer 11a and a barrier material 9 in the form of a metallic coating. The barrier material 9 may be located on an inner surface of the paper layer 11a.

[0155] In the alternative, the outer wrapper may include a first layer 11 formed from a paper-based material in the form of a barrier paper 11b, with the barrier material 9 within the paper layer 11a such that they form a single layer of material. The barrier material 9 may be, for example, but not limited to, metal or plastic.

[0156] In another example, the outer wrapper may include a first layer 11 formed by paper layer 11a and a second layer located on the inner surface of paper layer 11a. In yet another example, the outer wrapper may include a first layer formed by paper layer 11a without a second layer and a third layer 13 on paper layer 11a. The third layer 13 may be located on the inner surface of paper layer 11a.

[0157] With a paper-based outer packaging, each component of the package is formed from paper-based materials, i.e., the outer container 2, the inner container 6, the outer packaging, and the inner frame, if included, are all formed from paper-based materials, so the entire package 1 can be reused.

[0158] The outer wrapper may have a weight of less than 80, 70, 50, or 45 gsm. In some embodiments, the paper-based material 11 may have a paper weight of less than 70, 50, or 45 gsm.

[0159] In some embodiments, the outer wrapper may comprise at least 90%, 92.5%, 95%, or 98.5% of the first material. The first material may be a paper-based material. In some embodiments, the outer wrapper may have a water vapor permeability of less than 8 or 6 mg / m2 / 24 hours when tested to ASTM F1249 at 38° and 90% relative humidity. Preferably, the water vapor permeability of the first material of the outer wrapper is less than 6, 5, 3, or 1 g / m2 / 24 hours at 30° C. and 90% relative humidity (1249 ASTM).

[0160] The outer packaging material may be recyclable. The outer packaging material may be compostable. In some embodiments, the outer packaging material may further include a second material. The second material may be metal. The outer packaging material may include less than 10%, 5%, or 2.5% by weight of the second material. In some embodiments, the outer packaging material may include a third material. The third material may be plastic. The outer packaging material may include less than 10%, 5%, or 2.5% by weight of the third material. In some embodiments, the percentage of the second material is calculated based on the mass of the second and / or third material and the outer packaging material.

[0161] In some embodiments, the outer wrapper may further include a clay layer 50, similar to that described above with reference to wrapper 7. The outer wrapper may include a first clay layer 50a and a second clay layer 50b.

[0162] It will be further appreciated that in some embodiments, the presence of a paper-based outer wrap eliminates the requirement for package 1 to require an inner container 6 formed by wrapping material 7. Thus, in some embodiments, package 1 may omit inner container 6 as described above. Package 1 may include an outer container 2 comprising a base 3 and a lid 4 mounted to base 3 for rotation between open and closed positions. Lid 4 may be mounted to base 3 for rotation about hinge line 5. Package 1 may further include an outer wrapping material configured to surround outer container 2 of package 1, the outer wrapping material being sealed by closure of an opening therein. The outer wrapping material may include a first layer comprising a paper-based material. The outer wrapping material may include additional layers as previously described.

[0163] A package 1 comprising an outer wrapping material and no inner container 6 may further comprise an inner frame located within the outer container 2, as previously described.

[0164] The package 1 may further include a tamper evident means 60. More specifically, the outer container 2 may include a tamper evident means 60, as shown in Figures 10 and 11. It will be appreciated that a tamper evident means 60 similar to that described herein may be used with a variety of other types of packages other than hinged lid boxes. The tamper evident means 60 may be attached to both the base 3 and the lid 4 such that the tamper evident means indicates whether the outer container 2 has previously been opened or whether an attempt has been made to open the outer container 2.

[0165] The tamper evident means 60 on the outer container 2 may be formed from the front lid wall flap 61 of the lid 4. The tamper evident means provides an indication to the user whether the package 1 has been previously opened, which is required in the present invention so that the entire package 1 can be recycled by removing the outer plastic wrap that normally provides the tamper indication. The portion 62 of the front lid wall flap 62 may be separated from the remainder of the front lid wall flap 62 by a tear line. The tear line may be generally U-shaped, starting and ending at a fold line 63 between the front wall of the lid 4 and the front lid wall flap 61.

[0166] A portion 62 of the front lid wall flap 62 is rotated outwardly so that it extends parallel to the front wall of the lid 4 and is adhered to the front wall of the base 3 of the outer container 2.
