Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] (CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATIONS) This application claims priority to Chinese Patent Application No. "2022102495145" filed by BYD Company Limited on March 14, 2022, for the invention entitled "Battery Tray Assembly, Battery Pack, and Vehicle," the entire contents of which are incorporated herein by reference.
[0002] The present application relates to the field of vehicles, and more particularly to a battery tray assembly, a battery pack, and a vehicle. [Background technology]
[0003] In the prior art, the battery pack tray is made of a composite material, which has good insulation properties similar to plastics and can play a good role in protecting the battery pack during its operation. However, if the battery pack body is poorly sealed and water seeps into the pack, or if the electrolyte in the battery leaks, or if condensed water is generated in the pack body and accumulates in the tray, the current leakage detector cannot detect the presence of a conductive medium in the tray. If the electrolyte or water puddle in the tray soaks the battery pack for a long period of time, the aluminum case of the cell will be electrolyzed, which will seriously affect the service life of the battery. If the aluminum case is electrolyzed to a certain extent, it will cause the aluminum case of the battery to be perforated and leak, which will lead to more serious safety accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to detect whether a conductive medium exists in the battery tray. Summary of the Invention

[0013] Hereinafter, the embodiments of the present application will be described in detail, and examples of the embodiments are shown in the drawings, and the same or similar reference numerals throughout indicate the same or similar parts or parts having the same or similar functions. The embodiments described below with reference to the drawings are illustrative and are only for interpreting the present application, and should not be understood as limiting the present application.
[0014] Hereinafter, a battery tray assembly 100 according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0015] As shown in Fig. 2, the battery tray assembly 100 according to the present application includes a tray 110 and a conductive member 130. The tray 110 forms a mounting space 110a configured to accommodate the battery pack 200, and the tray 110 is insulated from the battery pack 200. The conductive member 130 is provided on the tray 110 and at least a portion of the conductive member 130 is located within the mounting space 110a. One end of the conductive member 130 is connected to a predetermined potential point. When no conductive medium is present within the mounting space 110a, the conductive member 130 provides a first potential signal between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point. When a conductive medium is present within the mounting space 110a, the conductive member 130 conducts the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point via the conductive medium to provide a second potential signal between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point. The first potential signal and the second potential signal indicate whether or not a conductive medium is present within the mounting space 110a. In addition, the specified potential point may generally be located outside the mounting space 110a, the conductive member 130 may be provided on the tray 110, and the entire conductive member 130 may be provided within the mounting space 110a, and another conductive structure may be connected to one end of the conductive member 130, and the other conductive structure may connect the conductive member 130 to the specified potential point, or the conductive member 130 may be provided on the tray 110, and a part of the conductive member 130 may be provided within the mounting space 110a, and another part of the conductive member 130 may extend outside the mounting space 110a and be connected to the specified potential point, and this is not limited here.
[0016] In some embodiments, the battery pack 200 is provided on the tray 110, and the conductive member 130 is further provided on the tray 110. The battery pack has a battery management system, and the battery management system can detect a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and a predetermined potential point. The conductive member 130 is connected to the predetermined potential point, and the potentials of the conductive member 130 and the predetermined potential point are equal, so that the battery management system can detect a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the conductive member 130. The conductive medium can pass a current, and when the conductive medium is not present in the mounting space 110a, the battery pack 200 and the conductive member 130 are disconnected, and the battery management system detects a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the conductive member 130, i.e., a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point, and this potential difference is a potential difference during normal operation of the battery, and the battery management system converts the potential difference during normal operation of the battery into a first potential signal. The first potential signal may be a voltage signal of the potential difference, or a voltage signal of an insulation resistor provided in the battery pack. When a conductive medium is present in the mounting space 110a, the conductive medium is located between the assembled battery 200 and the tray 110, and the assembled battery 200, the conductive medium, the conductive member 130, and the predetermined potential point together form a current path, in which case the potential difference between the assembled battery 200 and the conductive member 130 detected by the battery management system changes due to the presence of the conductive medium, and this potential difference is the potential difference at the time of battery failure, and the battery management system converts the potential difference changed due to the battery failure into a second potential signal. By adding the conductive member 130 in a battery pack having a battery management system, it is possible to detect the potential difference between the assembled battery 200 and the predetermined potential point, thereby determining whether or not a conductive medium is present in the battery pack.
[0017] In some other embodiments, in order to ensure that the battery pack does not leak electricity during normal operation, the tray 110 and the assembled battery 200 should be insulated to break the circuit; the insulating tray 110 is provided with a conductive member 130 capable of conducting electricity to detect whether a conductive medium exists between the tray 110 and the assembled battery 200; when a conductive medium exists between the tray 110 and the assembled battery 200, a current flows between the assembled battery 200 and the conductive member 130, and a potential difference is formed between the assembled battery 200 and a predetermined potential point; the battery management system can detect the change in the potential difference and convert the changed potential difference into a second potential signal; when no conductive medium exists between the tray 110 and the assembled battery 200, a first potential signal exists between the assembled battery 200 and the predetermined potential point; the battery management system determines whether a conductive medium exists in the tray 110 based on the change between the first potential signal and the second potential signal, and further reports related information to the vehicle to warn the user, thereby avoiding the occurrence of a safety accident of the vehicle 1. The conductive medium may be electrolyte leaked from the battery pack, water that has seeped in from the outside due to poor sealing of the pack body, or condensed water generated inside the pack body, and the puddle of water accumulated on the tray 110 contains conductive positive and negative ions, or other media capable of electrically connecting the battery pack 200 and the conductive member 130.
[0018] In the battery tray assembly 100 of the present application, the conductive member 130 is added as a detection point for the conductive medium. When a conductive medium is present inside the tray 110, a current path can be formed between the battery pack 200, the conductive medium, the conductive member 130, and a predetermined potential point. When the battery management system detects a change in the potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point in a timely manner, it can report a potential signal indicating the presence of a conductive medium in the mounting space 110a to the vehicle. By using the battery tray assembly 100, problems such as battery leakage or the presence of water puddles in the tray 110 can be detected in a timely manner, resulting in a high level of safety.
[0019] In some embodiments of the present application, the material of the conductive member 130 is copper or aluminum, which is easy to process and has good conductivity.
[0020] In some embodiments of the present application, the predetermined potential point may be provided at any position on the tray 110 as long as a potential difference can be generated between the predetermined potential point and the battery pack 200 so that the battery management system can detect a change in the potential difference. Note that the predetermined potential point is generally located outside the mounting space 110a.
[0021] According to some embodiments of the present application, the predetermined potential point is configured as a vehicle ground. In some embodiments, the conductive member 130 is connected to the predetermined potential point, i.e., when the conductive member 130 is directly grounded and the battery operates normally, the first potential signal detected by the battery management system is the potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the vehicle ground, and when a conductive medium is present in the battery tray, the second potential signal detected by the battery management system is the changed potential difference between the battery pack 200, the conductive medium, and the vehicle ground. In this case, the conductive member 130 functions as a ground member and is directly connected to the vehicle ground, thereby reducing the number of parts of the battery tray assembly 100.
[0022] According to some embodiments of the present application, the tray 110 includes a ground member, the ground member is provided to be grounded, and one end of the conductive member 130 is electrically connected to the ground member. In some embodiments, the ground member is grounded, the potential of the ground member is zero, and the conductive member 130 is at the same potential as the vehicle ground through the ground member; similarly, when the battery operates normally, the first potential signal detected by the battery management system is the potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the vehicle ground, and when a conductive medium is present in the battery tray, the second potential signal detected by the battery management system is the changed potential difference between the battery pack 200, the conductive medium, and the vehicle ground. In this case, the conductive member 130 is grounded through the ground member.
[0023] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in Fig. 3, a plurality of conductive members 130 are provided on both sides of the tray 110 along the first direction, and the conductive members 130 are spaced apart from each other along the second direction, and the first direction and the second direction are perpendicular to each other. In some embodiments, the conductive members 130 are configured in a plurality of parts, and the plurality of conductive members 130 are distributed on both sides of the tray 110 at a distance from each other. When a conductive medium is present in the tray 110, the conductive medium flows due to the running of the vehicle. When the conductive medium flows between the conductive member 130 and the assembled battery 200, the conductive medium conducts a circuit between the assembled battery 200 and a predetermined potential point to form a potential difference. The battery management system detects the potential difference and converts it into a second potential signal, and when there is a change between the first potential signal and the second potential signal, the battery management system uploads the second potential signal to the vehicle to notify the user that a leakage current has occurred. The plurality of conductive members 130 provided in a distributed manner can improve the probability of detecting the conductive medium, and safety is better.
[0024] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in Fig. 3, the plurality of conductive members 130 are arranged symmetrically in the second direction of the tray 110. In some embodiments, the plurality of conductive members 130 are arranged symmetrically, which has an elegant design, is easy to process, and has a high probability of detecting the conductive medium, thereby ensuring safety.
[0025] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in FIG. 3, the plurality of conductive members 130 include a first conductive member and a second conductive member spaced apart in the second direction of the tray 110. The length of the tray 110 along the second direction is S, the distance between the first conductive member and one end of the tray 110 is S1, the distance between the second conductive member and the other end of the tray 110 is S2, and 0.15 < S1 / S < 0.35, 0.15 < S2 / S < 0.35 are satisfied. In some embodiments, the length of the tray 110 along the second direction is S, the first conductive member and the second conductive member are arranged in order along the second direction of the tray 110, and the tray 110 may be divided into three parts in the second direction. The distance between the first conductive member and one end of the tray 110 is S1, and S1 and S satisfy 0.15 < S1 / S < 0.35. The distance between the second conductive member and the other end of the tray 110 is S2, and S2 and S satisfy 0.15 < S2 / S < 0.35. Since the distances at which the conductive medium reaches the two conductive members are close, when the conductive medium flows in the tray 110, it is easy to detect the presence of the conductive medium in the tray 110, increasing the detection probability. In some embodiments of the present application, in order to be able to detect the conductive medium present in the tray 110, the first conductive member and the second conductive member are respectively provided on both sides of the tray 110 in the second direction, and the first conductive member and the second conductive member may face the assembled battery 200.

[0033] In some embodiments of the present application, the bottom plate 111 and the frame 112 are bonded together with a structural adhesive, and the dimensional tolerance of the frame 112 can be absorbed by controlling the thickness of the structural adhesive. In addition, the frame 112 has good flatness, and the manufacturing accuracy of the frame 112 and the bottom plate 111 can be reduced by utilizing the feature that the structural adhesive can absorb the dimensional tolerance.
[0034] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in FIG. 7, a plurality of hollow cavities 1121a extending in the front-rear direction are formed inside the outer support portion 1121, and the side walls between two adjacent hollow cavities 1121a are provided in an inclined manner. The cross-sectional area S2 of the hollow cavity 1121a provided away from the inner support portion 1122 has a great influence on the collision protection of the vehicle. The larger S2 is, the smaller the support area of the hollow cavity 1121a away from the inner support portion 1122 becomes, the smaller the energy that can be absorbed when the vehicle collides and an external force invades, and the greater the risk of collision safety. In order to balance the mode of the entire pack and the collision protection of the vehicle, S1 and S2 need to satisfy 0.80 < S1 / S2 < 0.99.
[0036] In some embodiments of the present application, as shown in FIG. 7, the cross section of the hollowed out cavity 1121a adjacent to the inner support part 1122 is triangular, and the two angles defined by the inner side wall of the outer support part 1121 and the hollowed out cavity 1121a are α and β, respectively, and both angles of α and β are within a range of 50° to 70°, and are set to values such that the cross section of the hollowed out cavity 1121a is an isosceles triangle, thereby improving the stability of the cross section of the hollowed out cavity 1121a.

[0044] When no conductive medium exists in the mounting space 110a, the battery management system detects the potential difference between the assembled battery 200 and a predetermined potential point and converts it into a first potential signal. When a conductive medium exists in the mounting space 110a, the conductive medium flows due to the running of the vehicle, and when the conductive medium flows between the conductive member 130 and the assembled battery 200, the conductive medium conducts the circuit between the assembled battery 200 and the conductive member 130 to form a new potential difference, and the battery management system detects the change in the potential difference, converts the changed potential difference into a second potential signal, detects when there is a change between the first potential signal and the second potential signal, uploads it to the vehicle, and finally notifies that there is a conductive medium inside the battery and there is a possibility of leakage, and the conductive medium in the tray 110 flows into the water tank.
[0045] The battery tray assembly 100 of the present application is provided with a conductive member 130, and when a conductive medium appears inside the mounting space 110a in which the battery pack 200 is mounted, it can timely notify of a leakage fault in the battery pack and avoid other safety risks.
[0046] The battery pack according to the present invention will be briefly described below.
[0047] The battery pack according to the present application includes a battery tray, a battery pack 200, and a battery management system. The battery tray is configured as the battery tray assembly 100 according to any one of the above-mentioned embodiments, the battery pack 200 is provided in the mounting space 110a, and when no conductive medium is present in the mounting space 110a, a first potential signal is formed between the battery pack 200 and a predetermined potential point, and when a conductive medium is present in the mounting space 110a, a second potential signal is formed between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point, and the first potential signal and the second potential signal indicate whether or not a conductive medium is present in the mounting space 110a. In some embodiments, the battery tray forms a mounting space 110a for mounting the battery pack 200, and when no conductive medium is present in the battery pack, a first potential signal is formed between the battery pack 200 and a predetermined potential point, and when a conductive medium is present in the battery pack, a current path is formed between the battery pack 200, the conductive medium, the conductive member 130, and the predetermined potential point, a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the predetermined potential point changes, and a second potential signal is formed, and both the first potential signal and the second potential signal can be transmitted to the vehicle, and by determining that there is a change in the potential signal, it is possible to know whether or not a conductive medium is present in the battery pack. Since the battery pack of the present application has the above-mentioned battery tray, it is possible to timely find the occurrence of leakage due to water accumulation or electrolyte leakage in the battery pack, and safety is high.
[0048] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in Figures 2-3, the battery pack further includes a battery management system. The battery management system detects a potential signal between the assembled battery 200 and a predetermined potential point to detect whether a conductive medium is present in the battery pack. When the battery pack operates normally, the potential difference detected by the battery management system is converted into a first potential signal. When a conductive medium is present in the battery pack, the potential difference between the assembled battery 200 and the predetermined potential point changes compared with the first potential signal, that is, a second potential signal is formed. The battery management system detects this change and transmits it to the vehicle, so that the user can timely find that the battery pack is leaking due to water accumulation or electrolyte leakage inside.
[0049] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in FIGS. 2 to 3, the battery pack 200 includes a plurality of single cells 210, the plurality of single cells 210 are arranged at intervals in the second direction, and the conductive member 130 is arranged opposite to one of the single cells 210 in the first direction of the battery tray. In some embodiments, after the vehicle 1 collides, in order to avoid the conductive member 130 causing a short circuit by conducting two cells 210, by providing one conductive member 130 to face one cell 210, the safety of the battery pack 200 is improved.
[0050] According to some embodiments of the present application, as shown in FIGS. 3 to 4, the width of the single cell 210 in the battery pack 200 in the second direction is W1, the width of the conductive member 130 in the second direction is W2, and 0.25 < W2 / W1 < 0.98 is satisfied. In some embodiments, if the width of the conductive member 130 is too small, it is difficult to process, so the ratio of W2 to W1 needs to satisfy 0.25 < W2 / W1. If the width of the conductive member 130 in the second direction is too large, it exceeds the width of the cell 210 in the second direction, and when the vehicle has a side collision, the conductive member 130 contacts the adjacent cell 210 to form a circuit and cause a short circuit. Therefore, the ratio of W2 to W1 also needs to satisfy W2 / W1 < 0.98.
[0051] According to some embodiments of the present application, the case of the single cell 210 in the battery pack 200 is charged, or the battery pack 200 is provided with a post lead-out member, the post lead-out member is connected to the post of the single cell 210, and extends into the mounting space 110a. In some embodiments, in order to detect whether the battery is leaking electricity, the case of the single cell 210 is charged, or the post of the single cell 210 is led out to the mounting space 110a. When there is a conductive medium in the mounting space 110a, the conductive member 130 can conduct between the high-voltage circuit formed by the cell 210 and the ground, so as to realize the detection of battery leakage.
[0052] 1, an insulation resistance R0 is provided between the battery pack 200 and the ground member, the conductive medium is conductive and has a conductive medium resistance R1, the conductive member 130 is conductive and has a conductive member resistance R2, and the resistance value of the insulation resistance R0 is much larger than the sum of the conductive medium resistance R1 and the conductive member resistance R2. When there is no conductive medium between the battery pack 200 and the tray 110, there is no electrical connection between the battery pack 200 and the tray 110. In this case, the battery management system detects a potential difference across R0, which is a potential difference between the battery pack 200 and the ground member, and the battery management system converts the potential difference into a first potential signal and transmits it to the vehicle.
[0053] If there is a conductive medium between the battery pack 200 and the tray 110, the conductive medium electrically connects the battery pack 200 and the conductive member 130. In this case, the potential difference detected by the battery management system is the potential difference between both ends of the conductive medium resistance R1 and the conductive member resistance R2, and the sum of the conductive medium resistance R1 and the conductive member resistance R2 is clearly smaller than the insulation resistance R0, so the potential difference detected by the battery management system changes. The battery management system converts the potential difference into a second potential signal and transmits it to the vehicle, thereby alerting the user to the leakage information of the battery pack.
[0054] The vehicle 1 according to the present application will be briefly described below.
[0055] As shown in FIG. 8, the vehicle 1 according to the present application includes a battery pack described in any one of the above embodiments, and since the vehicle 1 according to the present application is provided with the battery pack of the above embodiments, the vehicle 1 can warn the user that the battery pack contains leaked electrolyte or that a puddle of water has occurred, allowing the user to discover the same in a timely manner and avoid a safety accident.
[0056] As described above, the battery tray assembly 100 of the present application can detect in a timely manner if a battery leaks due to water puddles or leaking electrolyte on the battery tray, thereby improving the safety of the battery pack and vehicle 1 in which the battery tray assembly 100 of the present application is installed. The plurality of conductive members 130 are uniformly distributed on the tray 110, which improves the probability of detecting a conductive medium inside the vehicle 1 while it is moving, and ensures driving safety; the conductive members 130 are integrally molded with the tray 110, and the manufacture of the conductive members 130 and the tray 110 can be completed by simply thermocompressing the conductive members 130 to the existing structure of the tray 110, which makes processing easy; the frame 112 of the tray 110 includes an inner support part 1122 and an outer support part 1121, which improves the load-bearing capacity of the bottom plate 111, increases the rigidity of the bottom plate 111, prevents deformation of the bottom plate 111, and improves the stability of the entire tray assembly; and the battery tray assembly 100 is provided with a water tank, which can temporarily store the conductive medium in the battery pack, thereby preventing leakage of electricity in the battery pack, and improving the safety of the battery pack.
