AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing melamine resin molded products face challenges in maintaining both fluidity and strength when the proportion of powdered pulp exceeds 30%, leading to difficulties in production.

Method used

A melamine resin composition incorporating pulp fibers with specific length and diameter ranges, along with a balanced ratio of melamine resin and pulp fibers, is used to enhance strength and maintain fluidity, including the use of additives like barium sulfate and curing agents.

Benefits of technology

The composition achieves high-strength cured products with reduced loss of fluidity, supporting applications like tableware while increasing biomass content for environmental impact reduction.

Abstract

To provide a melamine resin composition whose cured product has high strength and whose fluidity is hardly impaired.SOLUTION: The melamine resin composition contains a melamine resin (A) and pulp fibers (B). The proportion of the pulp fiber (B) is ≥ 30 mass% based on the total of the melamine resin (A) and the pulp fiber (B). The pulp fibers (B) include pulp fibers (b1) having fiber lengths of 500 μm or more and pulp fibers (b2) having fiber lengths of 12.5 μm or more and 200 μm or less and fiber diameters of 12.4 μm or more and 57.5 μm or less. The ratio of the pulp fiber (b1) to the pulp fiber (B) is 15 mass% or more and 30 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
