Abstract
Description
[Technical Field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a fountain pen. [Background technology]
[0002] Conventionally, a fountain pen has been known in which the nib is inserted into an ink bottle with a special part attached to the opening, and the ink bottle is tilted so that it is on top while the nib is inserted, causing ink to flow into the ink tank through a core part that extends from the nib to the ink tank (for example, Patent Document 1). [Prior art documents] [Patent documents]
[0003] [Patent Document 1] Patent No. 127118 Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0004] In the fountain pen disclosed in Patent Document 1, the ink tank is connected to the nib through a groove formed in the core member. Therefore, when the temperature is high, the air inside the ink tank expands, exerting a force that pushes ink from the ink tank toward the nib, causing problems such as ink spraying out of the nib when the cap is removed to use the fountain pen, or excessive ink being supplied to the nib when in use.
[0005] The present invention has been made in consideration of these points, and aims to provide a fountain pen that can prevent ink from being pushed out toward the pen tip even if the air inside the ink storage compartment expands. [Means for solving the problem]
[0006] In order to achieve the above-mentioned object, the present invention provides a fountain pen comprising: a neck portion into which a pen core having an ink flow passage is inserted; and a body portion having an ink reservoir therein and to which the neck portion is attached; a core member having a groove formed therein that communicates with the ink flow passage of the pen core and disposed inside the ink reservoir; and a cylindrical member disposed on the outside of the core member so as to cover the core member from its middle to its rear end; a first closing member configured to be movable within the ink reservoir along the axial direction and closing the opening at the rear end of the cylindrical member; and a second closing member configured to be movable within the ink reservoir along the axial direction and closing the gap between the outer surface of the front end of the cylindrical member and the inner surface of the ink reservoir (Invention 1).
[0007] According to this invention (Invention 1), the core member is covered from the middle to the rear end with a tubular member, the opening at the rear end of the tubular member is blocked with a first blocking member, and the gap between the outer surface of the front end of the tubular member and the inner surface of the ink storage section is blocked with a second blocking member, thereby blocking the path through which ink flows from the ink storage section to the core member, and preventing ink from being pushed out toward the pen tip even if the air inside the ink storage section expands.
[0008] The above invention (Invention 1) may be provided with a switching mechanism that switches between a first state in which the first blocking member is not in contact with the rear end of the tubular member and a second state in which the first blocking member is in contact with the rear end of the tubular member (Invention 2).
[0009] According to this invention (Invention 2), during normal writing, the pen is set to the first state, which allows ink to flow from the ink storage section to the core member, and by simply operating the switching mechanism to switch from the first state to the second state, it is possible to prevent ink from being pushed out toward the pen tip.
[0010] In the above invention (Invention 2), it is preferable that the switching mechanism has a first elastic member, and in the first state, the first blocking member is locked while being biased forward by the first elastic member, and when the lock is released, the first blocking member moves forward by the first elastic member, causing a transition from the first state to the second state (Invention 3).
[0011] According to this invention (Invention 3), the first state can be transitioned to the second state simply by unlocking the switching mechanism.
[0012] In the above invention (Invention 1), the second closing member may move forward in conjunction with the first closing member moving forward (Invention 4).
[0013] According to this invention (Invention 4), the second blocking member moves in conjunction with moving the first blocking member, so that the path through which ink flows from the ink storage section to the core member can be blocked with a simple operation.
[0014] In the above invention (Invention 1), it is preferable that the second closing member is an annular member attached to the outer circumferential surface of the front end of the cylindrical member (Invention 5).
[0015] According to this invention (Invention 5), it is possible to realize a configuration in which the second closing member moves in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir by moving the cylindrical member in the axial direction.
[0016] In the above invention (Invention 5), it is preferable that the tubular member is provided in a state where it is biased by a second elastic member, and that when the first blocking member moves forward and is pressed against the rear end of the tubular member, the tubular member moves forward, and when the first blocking member moves rearward, the tubular member moves rearward by the second elastic member (Invention 6).
[0017] According to this invention (Invention 6), when the first blocking member moves forward, the tubular member also moves forward, and the second blocking member attached to the outer surface of the tubular member can also move forward in conjunction with the movement of the first blocking member, and when the first blocking member moves backward, the tubular member can also move backward due to the biasing force of the second elastic member.
[0018] In the above inventions (Inventions 1-6), the neck may be configured to be detachably attached to the body having the core member (Invention 7), in which case the core member may extend into the ink reservoir so that its front end is exposed from an opening provided in the front part of the body, and the groove of the core member may be formed from the front end toward the rear in the axial direction, so that when the neck is attached to the body, the rear end surface of the pen core and the front end surface of the core member abut, and the ink flow passage of the neck may be connected to the groove of the body (Invention 8).
[0019] According to such inventions (Inventions 7 and 8), a dedicated adapter that can be attached to the front part of the barrel is attached to the mouth of the ink bottle, and when refilling ink, the neck of the fountain pen is removed, the front part of the barrel is attached to the adapter, and the ink bottle is tilted so that it is facing up, causing ink from the ink bottle to flow down the core member protruding from the front part of the barrel and into the ink reservoir. Furthermore, when writing with a fountain pen with the neck attached to the barrel, the ink flow passage in the neck communicates with the groove in the barrel, allowing ink to be supplied from the ink reservoir through the groove in the core member to the ink flow passage in the pen core. Because such a fountain pen is designed so that ink can be refilled by removing the neck, ink can be refilled without soiling the nib. [Effects of the Invention]
[0020] According to the fountain pen of the present invention, even if the air inside the ink reservoir expands, the ink can be prevented from being pushed out toward the pen tip. [Brief explanation of the drawings]

[0022] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Note that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments described below, and the embodiments are merely examples described to explain the technical features of the present invention. Furthermore, the shapes and dimensions shown in the drawings are shown merely to facilitate understanding of the contents of the present invention, and do not accurately reflect the actual shapes and dimensions.
[0023] In this specification, "forward" and "front side" refer to the direction along the axial direction of the fountain pen, toward the side where the fountain pen's nib is located. "Rear" and "rear side" refer to the direction along the axial direction of the fountain pen, opposite the forward and rear sides. Furthermore, "front end" refers to the front end of any component or part, and "rear end" refers to the rear end of any component or part. Furthermore, "front end" refers to the part of any component or part that includes the front end and extends from the front end toward the rear end to the middle of the component, etc., and "rear end" refers to the part of any component or part that includes the rear end and extends from the rear end toward the front end to the middle of the component, etc., in any component or part. In Figures 1-5, the left side of the illustration is the "front end side," and the right side is the "rear end side."
[0024] First Embodiment As shown in Figure 1, the fountain pen 100 has a barrel 1 made up of a neck 2 into which a pen core 23 having an ink flow passage 231 is inserted, and a body 3 having an ink reservoir 35 therein, and a core member 5 is disposed inside the ink reservoir 35, with a groove 51 formed therein that communicates with the ink flow passage 231 of the pen core 23. A cap (not shown) is removably attached to the barrel 1, for example by screwing, so as to cover the neck 2.
[0025] The neck 2 is configured by inserting the pen body 22 and the pen core 23, which is adjacent to the pen body 22 on its upper surface, into a front opening 211 formed in a substantially cylindrical neck body 21. From a rear opening 212 of the neck body 21, a core member 5 formed integrally with the pen core 23 protrudes rearward.
[0026] The barrel 3 has a barrel main body 31 having a substantially cylindrical shape, the rear end of which is closed by a tail cap 32. Inside the barrel main body 31 are provided: a core member 5 protruding from the rear opening 212 of the neck main body 21 of the neck 2; a tubular member 6 arranged on the outside of the core member 5 so as to cover the core member 5 from its middle to its rear end; a first closing member 7 configured to be movable axially within the ink reservoir 35 and to close the opening 61 on the rear end side of the tubular member 6; and a second closing member 8 configured to be movable axially within the ink reservoir 35 and to close the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the tubular member 6 and the inner peripheral surface of the ink reservoir 35. The space defined by the bottom wall 322 of the tail cap 32 and the rear end of the neck main body 21 of the neck 2 forms the ink reservoir 35.
[0027] The core member 5 is a generally cylindrical, shaft-like member having a certain length in the axial direction, and in this embodiment, is formed integrally with the pen core 23 inserted into the neck body 21 of the neck 2. A groove 51 is formed in the core member 5 over its entire axial length. The length of the core member 5 is not particularly limited, but it may be long enough, for example, so that the rear end of the core member 5 is located closer to the rear end than the center of the ink reservoir 35.
[0028] The tubular member 6 is a cylindrical member having a certain length in the axial direction, and its inner diameter is formed to be slightly larger than the outer diameter of the core member 5. The tubular member 6 is disposed in the ink reservoir 35 so as to cover the core member 5 from its middle to its rear end, and its rear end is supported by an annular support member 33 provided on the inner circumferential surface of the barrel main body 31 to prevent it from moving significantly in the radial direction. An opening 61 on the rear end side of the tubular member 6 is configured to be closed or opened by a first closing member 7, which is realized by, for example, a block-shaped rubber seal member, as the first closing member 7 moves back and forth along the axial direction.
[0029] A second closing member 8 is attached to the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the cylindrical member 6 to close the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the cylindrical member 6 and the inner peripheral surface of the ink reservoir 35, specifically, the gap between the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the cylindrical member 6 and the edge of the rear opening 212 of the neck body 21 of the neck 2. The second closing member 8 may be, for example, an annular rubber seal member. By moving the cylindrical member 6 along the axial direction, the second closing member 8 moves axially within the ink reservoir 35.
[0030] A second elastic member 9 is disposed between the front end of the cylindrical member 6 and the neck body 21 of the neck 2, and the cylindrical member 6 is configured to be movable in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir 35. A ring-shaped abutment portion 62 that protrudes in the radial direction is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the front end of the cylindrical member 6, and the abutment portion 62 abuts against a ring-shaped abutment member 36 provided on the inner peripheral surface of the barrel body 31, thereby restricting the rearward movement of the cylindrical member 62.
[0031] The switching mechanism 34 switches between a first state in which the first closing member 7 is not in contact with the rear end of the tubular member 6 and a second state in which the first closing member 7 is in contact with the rear end of the tubular member 6. The switching mechanism 34 in this embodiment includes a first elastic member 341, a shaft member 342, and an engaging member 343. One end of the rear side of the first elastic member 341 is fixed to a fixing portion 321 provided on the inner wall of the rear end side of the tail cap 32, and one end of the front side of the first elastic member 341 is connected to one end of the rear end side of the shaft member 342. The first closing member 7 is connected to one end of the front end side of the shaft member 342, and the engaging member 343 is fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the shaft member 342 near the rear end. A through-hole 323, through which the shaft member 342 of the switching mechanism 34 is inserted, is provided in the center of the bottom wall 322 of the tail cap 32, and the front end portion of the shaft member 342 of the switching mechanism 34 and the first closing member 7 are located inside the tail cap 32 of the shaft member 342, in front of the through-hole 323, within the ink reservoir 35. By providing such a switching structure 34, during normal writing, the first state is set to allow ink to flow from the ink reservoir 35 to the core member 5, and by simply operating the switching mechanism 34 to switch from the first state to the second state, it is possible to prevent ink from being pushed out toward the nib.
[0032] The switching mechanism 34 of this embodiment is configured so that when the tail cap 32 is rotated, the engaging member 343 moves back and forth along the axial direction; when the engaging member 343 moves forward, the shaft member 342 moves forward, and the first closing member 7 connected to the shaft member 342 also moves forward. When the engaging member 343 moves rearward, the shaft member 342 moves rearward, and the first closing member 7 connected to the shaft member 342 also moves rearward. There are many possible variations in the structure of the switching mechanism 34. In the case where the engaging member 343 moves back and forth along the axial direction when the tail cap 32 is rotated, for example, a structure in which a thread groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the engaging member 343 and a corresponding thread groove is also formed on the inner peripheral surface of the tail cap 32 to engage with the two can be employed; or a structure in which a protrusion is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the engaging member 343 and a spiral groove of a width that engages with the protrusion is formed in the tail cap 32 to engage with the two, etc.
[0033] The switching mechanism 34 may be configured to be locked while maintaining a state in which the first closing member 7 is biased forward by the first elastic member 341 in a first state in which the first closing member 7 is not in contact with the rear end of the tubular member 6. When the lock is released, the first closing member 7 moves forward by the first elastic member 341, causing a transition from the first state to the second state. By providing such a switching mechanism 34, a transition from the first state to the second state can be easily made by simply unlocking the switching mechanism 34.
[0034] In this embodiment, the second closing member 8 moves forward in conjunction with the forward movement of the first closing member 7. Specifically, when the first closing member 7 is moved forward by the switching mechanism 34, the first closing member 7 pushes the cylindrical member 6 forward while closing the opening 61 of the cylindrical member 6. When the cylindrical member 6 is pushed forward, the second closing member 8 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical member 6 also moves forward together with the cylindrical member 6. Therefore, the second closing member 8 also moves forward in conjunction with the forward movement of the first closing member 7. With this configuration, the second closing member 8 can also move in conjunction with the movement of the first closing member 7.
[0035] As described above, the second elastic member 9 is disposed between the front end of the tubular member 6 and the neck main body 21 of the neck 2, and the tubular member 6 is thus provided in a state where it is biased by the second elastic member 9. With this configuration, when the first closing member 7 moves forward and is pressed against the rear end (edge of the opening 61) of the tubular member 6, the tubular member 6 moves forward, and when the first closing member 7 moves rearward, the second elastic member 9 moves the tubular member 6 rearward. As a result, when the first closing member 7 moves forward, the tubular member 6 also moves forward, and the second closing member 8 attached to the outer peripheral surface of the tubular member 6 can also move forward in conjunction with the movement of the first closing member 7, and when the first closing member 7 moves rearward, the biasing force of the second elastic member 9 can also move the tubular member 6 rearward.
[0036] In the fountain pen 100 described above, the core member 5 is covered from the middle to the rear end with the tubular member 6, the opening 61 on the rear end side of the tubular member 6 is blocked with the first blocking member 7, and the gap between the outer surface of the front end of the tubular member 6 and the inner surface of the ink storage section 35 is blocked with the second blocking member 8, thereby blocking the path for ink to flow from the ink storage section 35 to the core member 5, and preventing ink from being pushed out toward the nib even if the air inside the ink storage section 35 expands.
[0037] Second Embodiment As shown in Figure 3-5, the fountain pen 100A has a neck 2A that is detachably attached to a body 3A that has a core member 5A. The neck 2A is detachably attached to the body 3A, for example, by screwing. In Figure 3-5, of the components of the fountain pen 100A, the same components as those in the fountain pen 100 of the first embodiment are given the same reference numerals. Below, only the components that are different from those in the fountain pen 100 of the first embodiment will be described, and a description of the same components will be omitted.
[0038] In the fountain pen 100 of the first embodiment, the pen core 23 of the neck 2 and the core member 5 are formed as a single unit, but in the fountain pen 100A of the second embodiment, the pen core 23A of the neck 2A and the core member 5A are each separate members. The core member 5A extends into the ink reservoir 35 so that its front end is exposed from an opening 311A provided in the front part of the barrel main body 31A of the barrel 3A. A groove 51A is formed in the core member 5A from the front end toward the rear in the axial direction.
[0039] When writing, the fountain pen 100A is used with the neck 2A attached to the body 3A, and when refilling with ink, the neck 2A can be removed from the body 3A as shown in Fig. 5. When the neck 2A is attached to the body 3A, the rear end surface 232A of the pen core 23A abuts against the front end surface 53A of the core member 5A, and the ink flow passage 231 of the neck 2A communicates with the groove 51A of the body 3A. A cap (not shown) is detachably attached to the barrel 1A, for example by screwing, to cover the neck 2A.
[0040] A cylindrical locking member 4 with a bottom is disposed at the front end inside the barrel main body 31A of the barrel 3A. The locking member 4 is fixed to the inner circumferential surface of the barrel main body 31A by known fixing means such as adhesive so that its bottom wall 41 is located at the front, and the space defined by the bottom wall 41 of the locking member 4 and the bottom wall 322 of the tail cap 32 forms the ink reservoir 35. A core member 5A is disposed inside the ink reservoir 35.
[0041] The core member 5A is a shaft-like member having a substantially cylindrical shape and a certain length in the axial direction. A groove 51A is formed along the entire axial length of the core member 5A. An expanded diameter portion 52A, whose outer diameter is larger than that of the other portions, is formed at a position slightly toward the rear end of the front end of the core member 5A. The length of the core member 5A is not particularly limited, but may be, for example, long enough so that the rear end of the core member 5A is positioned rearward of the center of the ink reservoir 35.
[0042] A cylindrical portion 42 protruding forward is formed in the center of the bottom wall 41 of the locking member 4 inside the body portion 3A, and an opening 43 is formed in the cylindrical portion 42, which communicates from the bottom wall 41 to the front end surface of the cylindrical portion 42. The core member 5A extends into the ink reservoir 35 so that its front end protrudes from the opening 43.
[0043] The core member 5A is configured to be able to move axially inside the ink reservoir 35, but the expanded diameter portion 52A of the core member 5A abuts against the bottom wall 41 of the locking member 4, preventing the core member 5A from moving further forward. In this embodiment, the second elastic member 9 is disposed between the expanded diameter portion 52A of the core member 5A and the front end of the tubular member 6, and the presence of the second elastic member 9 and the tubular member 6 restricts the rearward movement of the core member 5A.
[0044] The movement of the core member 5A when attaching or detaching the neck portion 2A to or from the barrel portion 3A will be described. In this embodiment, the core member 5A is provided so as to be movable in the axial direction inside the ink reservoir 35A, so that the core member 5A can be positioned appropriately both when the neck portion 2A is attached to the barrel portion 3A and when the neck portion 2A is detached from the barrel portion 3A.
[0045] When the neck 2A is attached to the body 3A (see Figures 3 and 4), the rear end surface 232A of the pen core 23A and the front end surface 53A of the core member 5A abut against each other, but because the front end surface 53A of the core member 5A protrudes slightly forward, the rear end surface 232A of the pen core 23A of the neck 2A pushes the core member 5A rearward. At this time, the expanded diameter portion 52A of the core member 5A does not abut against the bottom wall 41 of the locking member 4, and a gap is created between the expanded diameter portion 52A and the locking member 4. As the core member 5A moves rearward, a strong forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5A by the second elastic member 9, and the front end surface 53A of the core member 5A is pressed against the rear end surface 232A of the pen core 23A of the neck 2A.
[0046] When the neck portion 2A is detached from the barrel portion 3A (see Figure 5), a forward biasing force is applied to the core member 5A by the second elastic member 9, and the expanded diameter portion 52A of the core member 5A abuts against the bottom wall 41 of the locking member 4, so that no gap is created between the expanded diameter portion 52A and the locking member 4. In this state, if the barrel portion 3A is attached to an ink bottle with a dedicated adapter that can be attached to the front portion of the barrel portion 3A inserted into its mouth, ink can be introduced from the ink bottle into the front end surface 53A and groove portion 51A of the core member 5A.
[0047] 4, in this embodiment, the second closing member 8 moves forward in conjunction with the forward movement of the first closing member 7. When the first closing member 7 moves forward and is pressed against the rear end (edge of the opening 61) of the tubular member 6, the tubular member 6 moves forward, and when the first closing member 7 moves rearward, the second elastic member 9 moves the tubular member 6 rearward. As a result, when the first closing member 7 moves forward, the tubular member 6 also moves forward, and the second closing member 8 attached to the outer peripheral surface of the tubular member 6 can also move forward in conjunction with the movement of the first closing member 7, and when the first closing member 7 moves rearward, the urging force of the second elastic member 9 can also move the tubular member 6 rearward.
[0048] In the fountain pen 100A, the core member 5A is covered from the middle to the rear end with a tubular member 6, the opening 61 at the rear end of the tubular member 6 is blocked with a first blocking member 7, and the gap between the outer surface of the front end of the tubular member 6 and the inner surface of the ink storage section 35 is blocked with a second blocking member 8, thereby blocking the path for ink to flow from the ink storage section 35 to the core member 5A, and preventing ink from being pushed out toward the nib even if the air inside the ink storage section 35 expands.
[0049] The fountain pen according to the present invention has been described above with reference to the drawings. However, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment and various modifications are possible. For example, the first closing member, which is configured to move axially within the ink reservoir, is not limited to a solid rubber sealing member, as long as it can close the opening at the rear end of the tubular member. The first closing member may be, for example, a disk-shaped lid member or a cylindrical plug member inserted through the opening, and its material is not limited. Furthermore, the second closing member, which is configured to move axially within the ink reservoir, is not limited to an annular rubber sealing member, as long as it can close the gap between the outer surface of the front end of the tubular member and the inner surface of the ink reservoir.
