Abstract
The present invention provides a novel cylindrical vibration damping device that effectively prevents the synthetic resin outer cylindrical member from coming loose from the mating member, while allowing the outer cylindrical member to be easily pressed into the mating member with relatively little force. [Solution] In a cylindrical vibration damping device 10 in which an inner shaft member 12 and an outer cylindrical member 14 are connected by a main rubber elastic body 16, the outer cylindrical member 14, which is made of a resin molded product, has a protruding retaining projection 20 that engages with a locking hole 44 opening on the inner circumferential surface of the mounting hole 42, and the outer cylindrical member 14 is provided with a gap 30 located on the inner circumferential side of the retaining projection 20, extending rearward from the tip of the retaining projection 20 in the press-fitting direction, and the tip of the retaining projection 20 in the press-fitting direction is a flexible portion 32 that is allowed to undergo elastic deformation and bend toward the gap 30 side.
