Spiral-wound gasket, sealing structure using the same, and sealing method

Abstract
When a spiral-wound gasket is fitted into the gasket housing groove and tightened, the sealing performance of the spiral-wound gasket is maintained even if there is a difference in compression in the radial direction. [Solution] The spiral gasket 30 comprises multiple types of hoop material, each consisting of a strip-shaped metal material wound in a spiral shape, and a filler material 33 made of a softer material than these hoop materials, interposed between the hoop materials in the radial direction. The multiple types of hoop material include a first hoop portion 31 made of a first metal material with a first Young's modulus and a second hoop portion 32 made of a second metal material with a second Young's modulus lower than the first Young's modulus. It is used in areas where the compression amount of the second hoop portion 32 is greater than the compression amount of the first hoop portion 31.
