Selective stopping system for product flow within a conveyor.

Abstract

The transport system uses multiple braking devices to selectively and temporarily stop the flow of products. A series of spaced-out narrow belts extend longitudinally to transport products from one end to the second. Selectively elevable brake pads are interspersed between the narrow belts. Actuators selectively elevate designated brake pads, pushing selected products away from contact with one or more narrow belts and temporarily stopping the forward movement of the selected products.
