Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present application relates to the field of energy storage technology, and in particular to electrochemical devices and methods for making the same, as well as electronic devices having the electrochemical devices. [Background technology]
[0002] Electrochemical devices (e.g., batteries) are widely used in electronic products such as electronic portable devices, power tools, and electric vehicles. In the manufacturing process of electrochemical devices, the upper and lower sealing films need to be heat-sealed by a header to form a sealing edge, thereby sealing the electrode assembly in a case. However, the sealing edge may affect the energy density of the electrochemical device. Summary of the Invention
[0003] In view of the shortcomings of the prior art, it is necessary to propose an electrochemical device and a method for manufacturing the same that can improve the energy density.
[0004] There is also a need to provide an electronic device having the electrochemical device.
[0005] The present application provides an electrochemical device including a packaging bag, an electrode assembly, and a conductive plate. The packaging bag includes a main body and a seal. The electrode assembly is provided in the main body, and the conductive plate is electrically connected to the electrode assembly. A direction in which the conductive plate protrudes from the electrode assembly is defined as a first direction, a thickness direction of the electrode assembly is defined as a second direction, and a direction perpendicular to the first and second directions is defined as a third direction. The main body includes a first end wall and a second end wall provided opposite to each other in the first direction, and further includes a first side wall and a second side wall provided opposite to each other in the third direction. The seal includes a first seal portion connected to the first end wall and a first flange portion, and the conductive plate protrudes from the first seal portion into the packaging bag. The first flange portion is connected to the first side wall, and the first flange portion and the first side wall are provided opposite to each other in the third direction. The first seal portion and the first flange portion intersect within a transition region. The electrochemical device is provided with a bent corner structure, the bent corner structure being formed by folding the transition region toward the first end wall at least two times.
[0006] The present application aims to fold the transition region toward the first end wall at least twice, which is advantageous not only for reducing the dimension of the first flange portion in the first direction but also for reducing the dimension of the first seal portion in the third direction, thereby reducing the space occupied by the transition region and increasing the energy density of the electrochemical device. Next, at least two folds are provided so that the electrochemical device has a missing corner when viewed from the second direction, and the size of the missing corner can be changed according to actual needs, thereby matching the outer shape of the electrochemical device to the actual shape of the battery can of the electronic device and reducing the impact of a specific shape of the battery can on the energy density of the electrochemical device. Furthermore, by providing a folded corner structure formed by two folds, the possibility of the transition region being opened in the event of mechanical problems and causing leakage can be reduced.
[0007] In some possible implementations, the folded corner structure is formed by folding the transition region toward the first end wall twice after forming the first flange portion, which can reduce the space occupied by the transition region to increase the energy density, reduce the impact of the folded corner structure on the strength of the packaging bag corner to reduce the risk of the packaging bag being broken and liquid leakage, and improve production efficiency.
[0008] In some possible implementations, the bent corner structure includes a first bent corner portion and a second bent corner portion, the first bent corner portion being formed by a first folding, and the second bent corner portion being formed by a second folding. When viewed from the second direction, the second bent corner portion at least partially covers the first bent corner portion. This can reduce to some extent the possibility that the second flange portion will be expanded more than the first flange portion, which is also advantageous for improving energy density.
[0009] In some possible implementations, the electrochemical device includes a first bent wire and a second bent wire. The first bent wire includes a first section and a second section. The first section is disposed at a first bent portion. The second section and the second bent wire are disposed at a second bent portion.
[0010] In some possible implementations, when viewed from the third direction, the first flange portion includes a first side and a second side that are provided opposite to each other in the second direction, and the second side connects the first side wall. The first stage and the first side intersect at a first intersection, and the second bend line intersects the first stage and at a second intersection. When viewed from the second direction, the first intersection and the second intersection do not overlap. This reduces the possibility that the packaging bag will burst at the overlapping intersection, causing liquid leakage, and also makes it easier to improve production efficiency. In some possible embodiments, the first intersection and the second intersection overlap, further improving energy density.
[0011] In some possible implementations, when viewed from the second direction, the included angle between the first stage and the third direction is α, and 70°≦α<90°. In this way, the subsequent folding can be easily performed, the effect of the subsequent folding can be improved, the distance between the folding area formed during the first folding and the conductive plate can be shortened, and the possibility that the conductive plate will be folded during the first folding can be reduced.
[0012] In some possible implementations, when viewed from the second direction, the included angle between the second bend line and the third direction is β, where β<α.
[0013] In some possible implementations, the first bend portion and the second bend portion are bonded together to reduce the possibility that the second bend portion will open wider than the first bend portion.
[0014] In some possible implementations, the first seal portion includes a first region and a transition region that are connected to each other. The first region connects to a portion of the first end wall. The transition region includes a first section and a second section, and the second section connects to another portion of the first end wall and the first section. The first seal portion and the first flange portion meet at the first section. The first bend section includes a portion of the second section. After the first folding, the dimension of the first seal portion in the third direction is reduced, which is advantageous for increasing energy density.
[0015] In some possible implementations, the electrochemical device further includes a circuit board electrically connected to the conductive plate. The first seal portion and the first end wall cooperate to form an accommodation space, and the circuit board is provided in the accommodation space. The effect of providing the circuit board on the energy density of the electrochemical device can be reduced.
[0016] In some possible implementations, the first flange portion is a single hem structure or a double hem structure. The double hem structure can reduce the risk that the metal layer of the packaging bag is exposed and easily short-circuits with the outside world.
[0017] In some possible implementations, the thickness of the packaging bag in the second direction is 50 to 130 μm. By setting the thickness of the packaging bag in this range, the effect on the strength of the packaging bag after the corner folding structure is provided can be satisfied, the safety and life requirements can be met, and the corner folding structure in the process can be easily realized.
[0018] The present application also provides an electronic device including a battery can and the electrochemical device as described above. The electrochemical device is provided in the battery can. By providing at least two folds, it is advantageous to reduce the dimension of the first flange portion in the first direction while reducing the dimension of the first seal portion in the third direction, thereby improving the energy density of the electrochemical device.
[0019] In some possible implementations, the battery can is arc-shaped, and has at least two folds to have a recessed angle when viewed from the second direction, and the size of the recessed angle can be changed according to actual needs, so that the outer shape of the electrochemical device can be matched with the actual shape of the battery can of the electronic device, and the impact of a specific shape of the battery can on the energy density of the electrochemical device can be greatly reduced.
[0020] The third invention of the present application provides a method for manufacturing an electrochemical device, and includes the steps of: manufacturing an electrode assembly and electrically connecting the electrode assembly and a first conductive plate; placing the electrode assembly having the first conductive plate in a packaging bag and sealing the electrode assembly having the first conductive plate so that the first conductive plate protrudes into the packaging bag from the first sealed portion to form a sealed portion; folding the sealed portion to face the first side wall in a third direction to form a first flange portion; and folding the transition region toward the first end wall at least twice to form the folded corner structure. In some possible implementations, the folded corner structure is formed by performing a first folding of the transition region toward the first end wall and a second folding of the transition region toward the first end wall. The direction in which the first conductive plate 30 or the second conductive plate 40 protrudes from the electrode assembly 20 (i.e., the direction from the electrode assembly 20 toward the first conductive plate 30 or the second conductive plate 40) is defined as a first direction X, the thickness direction of the electrode assembly 20 is defined as a second direction Y, and the direction perpendicular to the first direction X and the second direction Y is defined as a third direction Z. The second direction Y is also perpendicular to the surface of the first conductive plate 30 or the second conductive plate 40. The third direction Z is also a direction from the first conductive plate 30 toward the second conductive plate 40.
[0031] FIG. 3 is a schematic diagram of the configuration of the electrochemical device 100 before sealing. The packaging bag 10 includes a first sealing film 10a and a second sealing film 10b arranged opposite to each other in the second direction Y, and the packaging bag 10 is formed by sealing the first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b. In some embodiments, the first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b can be obtained after folding the same sealing film, and the folding points of the first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b correspond to the tails of the electrode assembly 20 away from the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40. The first sealing film 10a includes a first membrane region 10a1 and a second membrane region 10a2 connected to each other. Three sides of the second membrane region 10a2 are surrounded by the first membrane region 10a1. The second sealing film 10b includes a third membrane region 10b1 and a fourth membrane region 10b2 connected to each other. The third film region 10b1 surrounds three sides of the fourth film region 10b2. The second film region 10a2 of the first sealing film 10a is provided with a recess S1. The second film region 10a2 and the fourth film region 10b2 together constitute a main body 11 for accommodating the electrode assembly 20. With reference to FIG. 3 and FIG. 4A, when manufacturing the packaging bag 10, a head of a sealing device is used to simultaneously apply a certain temperature and pressure to the first film region 10a1 and the third film region 10b1, and the first film region 10a1 and the third film region 10b1 are connected to form a seal portion 12, thereby closing the main body 11 for accommodating the electrode assembly 20 in the first direction X and reducing the risk of liquid leakage.
[0032] The first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b are both made of a multi-layer sheet. As shown in FIG. 5, the first sealing film 10a may include a first protective layer 101, a first metal layer 102, and a first polymer layer 103, which are sequentially stacked. The first polymer layer 103 is closer to the electrode assembly 20 than the first protective layer 101. The material of the first protective layer 101 may be a polymer resin, which can protect the first metal layer 102, reduce the risk of damage to the first metal layer 102 due to external force, and delay the permeation of air from the external environment, thereby maintaining the inside of the electrochemical device 100 in a normal operating environment. In some embodiments, the material of the first protective layer 101 may be at least one selected from ethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, polyvinylidene fluoride, polytetrafluoroethylene, polypropylene, polyamide, and polyimide. In some embodiments, the first metal layer 102 is an aluminum foil layer or a steel foil layer. The first polymer layer 103 has heat melting properties, can be used for sealing, and can reduce the risk of the multilayer sheet being dissolved or swollen by an organic solvent in the electrolyte. The first polymer layer 103 is also used to reduce the risk of the electrolyte in the electrolyte contacting the first metal layer 102 and corroding the metal layer. In some embodiments, the first polymer layer 103 includes at least one polymer material selected from polypropylene, propylene copolymer, polyethylene, and polymethylmethacrylate. An adhesive layer for adhering the first protective layer 101 and the first metal layer 102 may be further provided between the first protective layer 101 and the first metal layer 102. The second sealing film 10b may include a second protective layer (not shown), a second metal layer (not shown), and a second polymer layer (not shown), which are laminated in this order. In addition, when the first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b are obtained by folding one sealing film, it is understood that the materials of the second protective layer, the second metal layer, and the second polymer layer are the same as the materials of the first protective layer 101, the first metal layer 102, and the first polymer layer 103, respectively, and will not be described here repeatedly. During sealing, the first polymer layer 103 and the second polymer layer are melted and bonded to each other.
[0033] In some embodiments, the thickness T of the packaging bag 10 in the second direction Y (see FIG. 4A) is 50 μm to 130 μm. Here, the thickness of the packaging bag 10 means the thickness of the first sealing film 10a or the thickness of the second sealing film 10b. By setting the thickness T within this range, the influence on the strength of the packaging bag 10 after the corner folding structure 70 is provided can be satisfied, the safety and life requirements can be satisfied, and the folding process for realizing the corner folding structure 70 is also easy. In some specific examples, the thickness of the first protective layer is 15 μm, the thickness of the first metal layer 102 is 40 μm, and the thickness of the first polymer layer 103 is 30 μm.
[0034] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4A, the main body 11 includes a first end wall 111 and a second end wall 112 that are provided opposite to each other in the first direction X. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4B, the main body 11 further includes a first side wall 113 and a second side wall 114 that are provided opposite to each other in the third direction Z. When viewed from the second direction Y, the surface on which the first end wall 111 is located can extend in the second direction Y and the third direction Z, and the surface on which the second end wall 112 is located can extend in the second direction Y and the third direction Z. When viewed from the second direction Y, the first side wall 113 is connected between the first end wall 111 and the second end wall 112, and the second side wall 114 is connected between the first end wall 111 and the second end wall 112. When viewed from the second direction Y, the surface on which the second side wall 113 is located can extend in the first direction X and the second direction Y, and the surface on which the second side wall 114 is located can extend in the first direction X and the second direction Y. In addition, in FIG. 4A, the reference symbol 111 indicates the left side of the first conductive plate 30, but the corresponding position on the right side of the first conductive plate 30 is also the first end wall 111, and the installation form of the first end wall 111 can be changed according to the installation form of the recess of the packaging bag 10. For example, a recess may be provided in either the first sealing film 10a or the second sealing film 10b, or a recess may be provided in both the first sealing film 10a and the second sealing film 10b. In FIG. 4B, the installation form of the first side wall 113 and the second side wall 114 can also be changed according to the installation form of the recess of the packaging bag 10.
[0035] The seal portion 12 includes a first seal portion 121 and a first flange portion 122. The first seal portion 121 is connected to the first end wall 111, and the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40 protrude from the first seal portion 121 to the packaging bag 10. In some embodiments, the electrochemical device 100 further includes a first adhesive material 50 and a second adhesive material 60. The first adhesive material 50 is for connecting the first seal portion 121 and the first conductive plate 30, and a portion of the first adhesive material 50 is disposed outside the first seal portion 121. The second adhesive material 60 is for connecting the first seal portion 121 and the second conductive plate 40, and a portion of the second adhesive material 60 is disposed outside the first seal portion 121.
[0036] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 4B, the first flange portion 122 is connected to the first side wall 113, and the first flange portion 122 and the first side wall 113 are disposed opposite to each other in the third direction Z. In some embodiments, the first flange portion 122 is a single hem structure formed after one folding. That is, the seal portion 12 connected to the first side wall 113 is disposed opposite to the first side wall 113 in the third direction Z after one folding to form the first flange portion 122. Specifically, FIG. 6 shows the configuration of the first flange portion 122 before folding, and at this time, the plane on which the first flange portion 122 is located extends in the first direction X and the third direction Z. FIG. 4B and FIG. 7 show the configuration of the first flange portion 122 after folding. After one folding, the first flange portion 122 is disposed opposite the first side wall 113 in the third direction Z, and the dimension of the electrochemical device 100 in the third direction Z is reduced, improving space utilization and energy density. In some embodiments, the first flange portion 122 and the first side wall 113 may be bonded to each other to reduce the possibility that the first flange portion 122 will expand beyond the first side wall 113. Specifically, a third adhesive 1220 may be provided between the first flange portion 122 and the first side wall 113. The third adhesive 1220 may be a double-sided tape or a hot melt. The material of the adhesive layer in the double-sided tape may be one or more selected from acrylic ester, polyurethane, rubber, and silica gel, and the hot melt may be one or more selected from polyolefin-based hot melt, polyurethane-based hot melt, ethylene and its copolymer-based hot melt, polyester-based hot melt, polyamide-based hot melt, styrene and its block copolymer-based hot melt, and is not limited to the present application.
[0037] 1, 4B, and 7, in some embodiments, the seal portion 12 may further include a second flange portion 123. The second flange portion 123 is connected to the second side wall 114, and the second flange portion 123 and the second side wall 114 are provided facing each other in the third direction Z. In some embodiments, the second flange portion 123 is also a single hem structure formed after one folding, that is, the portion of the seal portion 12 connected to the second side wall 114 is provided facing the second side wall 114 after one folding to form the second flange portion 123, thereby making the dimension of the electrochemical device 100 in the third direction Z smaller, thereby improving space efficiency and energy density.
[0038] As shown in FIG. 6, the first seal portion 121 includes a transition region 1200 and a first region 1211 arranged in order in the third direction Z, and the first region 1211 is connected to a part of the first end wall 111. The transition region 1200 includes a first section 1201 and a second section 1202, and the second section 1202 is connected to another part of the first end wall 111. The first flange portion 122 includes a second region 1221 arranged in order in the first direction X and the above-mentioned first section 1201, and the second region 1221 is connected to the first side wall 113. That is, the first seal portion 121 and the first flange portion 122 intersect with the first section 1201. That is, the first seal portion 121 and the first flange portion 122 intersect with the transition region 1200. In some embodiments, the transition region 1200 may further include a third section 1203, which is connected to a portion of the first sidewall 113, and the second region 1221 may be connected to another portion of the first sidewall 113.
[0039] As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the electrochemical device 100 further includes a corner folding structure 70. The corner folding structure 70 is formed by folding the transition region 1200 twice toward the first end wall 111 after the first flange portion 122 is formed (i.e., after folding the portion of the sealing portion 12 connected to the first side wall 113 until it is provided opposite the first side wall 113 and forming the first flange portion 122). Specifically, FIG. 6 shows the configuration of the transition region 1200 before folding, and at this time, the plane in which the transition region 1200 is located extends in the first region X and the second direction Y. FIG. 7 shows the configuration after folding the first flange portion 122, and it is understood that the second section 1202 does not need to be folded in the process of forming the first flange portion 122. After forming the first flange portion 122, as shown in Figures 8 and 9, the transition region 1200 is first folded a first time around the first fold line 73 (Figure 9) toward the first end wall 111 to form the first fold portion 71. Then, the transition region 1200 is further folded a second time around the second fold line 74 toward the first end wall 111 to form the second fold portion 72 as shown in Figure 2.
[0040] 9 and 2, in some embodiments, when forming the second bend 72 in the second folding, a part of the second section 1202 in the transition region 1200 is folded toward the first end wall 111 so that the second bend 72 in FIG. 2 includes a part of the second section 1202, and at that time, the second bend line 74 and the edge 1202a of the second section 1202 intersect at the third intersection 741. Therefore, folding the transition region 1200 twice is advantageous in reducing the dimension of the first seal portion 121 in the third direction Z compared to folding the transition region 1200 once. In addition, the second folding can make the electrochemical device 100 have a missing corner when viewed from the second direction Y, and the size of the missing angle can be changed according to actual needs, so that the outer shape of the electrochemical device 100 can be appropriately adjusted to match the actual shape of the battery can of the electronic device. 1 and 2, in some embodiments, in the third direction Z, the third intersection point 741 is provided away from a side edge of the first adhesive material 50 remote from the second adhesive material 60.
[0041] In some embodiments, after the second fold, the transition region 1200 is folded at least once more to further adjust the fold structure 70 to increase energy density.
[0042] 9, the folding region that is folded the first time toward the first end wall 111 is defined as A, and the folding region A is divided into a fourth section A1 and a fifth section A2. Referring also to FIG. 2, the fourth section A1 forms a part of the second folding corner 72 after the second folding, so the above-mentioned first folding corner 71 means the region that is folded the first time toward the first end wall 111 but is not folded a second time thereafter. In other words, the first folding corner 71 means the fifth section A2.
[0043] In the present application, the transition region 1200 is folded at least twice toward the first end wall 111, which not only reduces the dimension of the first flange portion 122 in the first direction X, but also favors reducing the dimension of the first seal portion 121 in the third direction Z, thereby reducing the space occupied by the transition region 1200 and increasing the energy density of the electrochemical device 100. Next, at least two folds are provided so that the electrochemical device 100 has a recessed corner when viewed from the second direction Y, and the size of the recessed corner can be changed according to actual needs, so that the outer shape of the electrochemical device 100 is matched to the actual shape of the battery can of the electronic device, and the impact of a specific shape of the battery can on the energy density of the electrochemical device 100 is reduced. Furthermore, by providing the folded corner structure 70 formed by two folds, the possibility of the transition region 1200 being opened during mechanical abuse (e.g., dropping, vibration, impact, etc.) and causing liquid leakage can also be reduced.
[0044] As shown in FIG. 8 and FIG. 9, in some embodiments, the second bend portion 72 includes a portion of the second region 1202, and the first bend portion 71 also includes a portion of the second region 1202. That is, when the first bend portion 71 is formed by the first folding, a part of the second region 1202 of the transition region 1200 is folded toward the first end wall 111. Therefore, after the first folding, the dimension of the first seal portion 121 in the third direction Z becomes smaller, which is advantageous for increasing the energy density. At this time, as shown in FIG. 9, the first bend line 73 intersects with the edge 1202a of the second region 1202 at the fourth intersection 7311. Referring to FIG. 8 and FIG. 9 together, when viewed from the second direction Y, the third intersection 741 is closer to the first adhesive 50 than the fourth intersection 7311 in the third direction Z. In another embodiment, the second region 1221 of the transition region 1200 is not folded in the process of forming the first bend corner 71 in the first fold.
[0045] 8 and 9, in some embodiments, when forming the first folding corner 71 in the first folding, a part of the third section 1203 of the transition region 1200 may be folded. Thus, the first folding corner 71 may further include a partial third section 1203. After folding, the distance between the partial third section 1203 and the first end wall 111 in the third direction Z becomes smaller, so that it can be understood that the partial third section 1203 is also folded toward the first end wall 111.
[0046] 2, in some embodiments, the second bend line and the first bend line 73 intersect at a second intersection 740. The first bend line 73 includes a first section 731 and a second section 732, and the boundary point between the first section 731 and the second section 732 is the second intersection 740. The first section 731 is provided on the first bend portion 71. The second section 732 and the second bend line 74 are provided on the second bend portion 72, and the second section 732 and the second bend line 74 actually become two sides of the second bend portion 72.
[0047] 1 and 2, when viewed from the third direction Z, the first flange portion 122 includes a first side 122a provided opposite to the second direction Y and a second side 122b connected to the first side wall 113. As shown in FIG. 6, before the first flange portion 122 is formed by folding, the first side 122a and the second side 122b are provided opposite to each other in the third direction Z. As shown in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, after the first flange portion 122 is formed, the first side 122a and the second side 122b may be substantially overlapped with each other when viewed from the second direction Y. Furthermore, since the packaging bag 10 has a constant thickness, both the first side 122a and the second side 122b have a constant thickness in the third direction Z when viewed from the third direction Z. The first stage 731 and the first side 122a intersect at a first intersection 7310 (specifically, an intersection between the first stage 731 and the outer edge of the first side 122a), and the intersection between the second fold line 74 and the first stage 731 is a second intersection 740. In some embodiments, the first intersection 7310 and the second intersection 740 do not overlap when viewed from the second direction Y. In this way, the possibility of the packaging bag 10 breaking at the overlapping intersection and causing liquid leakage is reduced, and productivity is also easily improved. More specifically, in the second direction Y, the second intersection 740 is located above the first intersection 7310. In another embodiment, the first stage 731 and the second fold line 74 may overlap when viewed from the second direction Y. At this time, a second intersection 740 between the second bend angle line 74 and the first stage 731 is also an intersection between the second bend angle line 74 and the first side 122a.
[0048] 2 and 9, in some embodiments, the included angle between the first step 731 and the third direction Z as viewed from the second direction Y is defined as α. If the included angle α is too small, the folding area A formed during the first folding will be close to the first conductive plate 30, and thus the first conductive plate 30 may be folded during the first folding. Therefore, by setting 70°≦α<90°, the subsequent folding can be performed easily, the effect of the subsequent folding can be improved, and the folding area A formed during the first folding will be close to the first conductive plate 30, which is advantageous in reducing the possibility of the first conductive plate 30 being folded during the first folding.
[0049] Furthermore, when viewed from the second direction Y, the included angle between the second bend line 74 and the third direction Z is defined as β, where β<α.
[0050] 2, in some embodiments, the second bend portion 72 at least partially covers the first bend portion 71 when viewed from the second direction Y. Because the folding angle of the second bend portion 72 is large, the possibility that the second bend portion 72 will be wider than the first bend portion 71 can be reduced to a certain extent, which is also advantageous in terms of increasing the energy density of the electrochemical device 100.
[0051] In some embodiments, the first bent corner 71 and the second bent corner 72 may be bonded to each other to further reduce the possibility that the second bent corner 72 will be wider than the first bent corner 71. Specifically, a fourth adhesive (not shown) may be provided between the first bent corner 71 and the second bent corner 72. Here, the fourth adhesive may be a double-sided tape or a hot melt. The material of the adhesive layer in the double-sided tape may be one or more selected from acrylic ester, polyurethane, rubber, and silica gel, and the hot melt may be one or more selected from polyolefin hot melt, polyurethane hot melt, ethylene and its copolymer hot melt, polyester hot melt, polyamide hot melt, styrene and its block copolymer hot melt, and is not limited to the present application.
[0052] It is understood that in some embodiments, the first seal portion 121 and the second flange portion 123 meet at another transition region (not shown) that may be folded at least twice toward the first end wall 111 to form another corner bend structure 80 (see FIG. 1 ) to further increase the energy density of the electrochemical device 100. Note that the formation form and specific configuration of the corner bend structure 80 are similar to those of the corner bend structure 70, and therefore will not be described again here.
[0053] In some embodiments, referring to FIG. 10, another embodiment of the present disclosure further provides an electrochemical device 200. The electrochemical device 200 is different from the electrochemical device 200 in that the first flange portion 122 has a double hem structure formed by folding twice. Specifically, FIG. 6 shows the configuration of the first flange portion 122 before folding, and the plane on which the first flange portion 122 is located extends in the first direction X and the third direction Z. FIG. 7 and FIG. 10 show the configuration of the first flange portion 122 after folding for the first time and the second time, respectively. For example, as shown in FIG. 7, the part of the seal portion 12 connected to the first side wall 113 is folded toward the first side wall 113 for the first time, and then, as shown in FIG. 10, the part of the seal portion 12 is further folded for the second time to form the first flange portion 122, thereby protecting the metal layer exposed at the edge of the first flange portion 122, reducing the risk that the metal layer is exposed and easily short-circuited with the outside world, and improving safety.
[0054] Referring to FIG. 11, yet another embodiment of the present application provides an electrochemical device 300. The electrochemical device 300 differs from the above-mentioned electrochemical device 100 in that it further includes a circuit board 90 electrically connected to the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40. Among them, the circuit board 90 provides electrical protection for the electrode assembly 20, such as charge / discharge protection, and detects overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, short circuit, and overtemperature conditions of the electrode assembly 20, thereby extending the life of the electrochemical device 300. The first seal portion 121 and the first end wall 111 form an accommodation space S2, and the circuit board 90 is provided in the accommodation space S2. During preparation, the circuit board 90 can be folded back to one side of the first seal portion 121 and accommodated in the accommodation space S2 after connecting the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40. Therefore, the effect of providing the circuit board 90 on the energy density of the electrochemical device 100 can be reduced.
[0055] The electrochemical devices 100, 200, and 300 of the present application include all devices capable of causing an electrochemical reaction. Specifically, the electrochemical devices 100, 200, and 300 include all kinds of primary batteries, secondary batteries, fuel cells, solar cells, and capacitors (e.g., supercapacitors). The electrochemical devices 100, 200, and 300 may be lithium secondary batteries, including lithium metal secondary batteries, lithium ion secondary batteries, lithium polymer secondary batteries, and lithium ion polymer secondary batteries.
[0056] 12 and 13, yet another embodiment of the present application provides an electronic device 1 including an electrochemical device 300 (or an electrochemical device 100, 200) and a battery can 2 for housing the electrochemical device 300. In some embodiments, the battery can 2 is arc-shaped. Since at least two folds are set, the outer shape of the corners of the electrochemical device 300 can be adjusted according to actual needs, so that the outer shape of the electrochemical device 300 can be matched with the actual shape of the battery can 2. At the same time, if the transition region of the electrochemical device is not folded or is folded only once, the dimensions of the electrochemical device 100 in the first direction X and the third direction Z need to be correspondingly smaller to fit the arc-shaped inner wall of such battery can 2, resulting in a decrease in energy density. The present application also reduces the impact of a specific shape of the battery can 2 on the energy density of the electrochemical device 100 by providing at least two folds.
[0057] However, the electrochemical device 100 of the present application can be applied to electronic devices in various fields. The electronic devices 1 of the present application are not limited to notebook computers, pen-input computers, mobile personal computers, electronic book players, mobile phones, portable facsimiles, portable copiers, portable printers, headset stereo earphones, video recorders, liquid crystal televisions, portable cleaners, portable CD players, mini discs, transceivers, electronic organizers, calculators, memory cards, portable recorders, radios, backup power sources, motors, automobiles, motorcycles, power-assisted bicycles, bicycles, lighting equipment, toys, game devices, watches, power tools, strobes, cameras, large household storage batteries, and lithium ion capacitors.
[0058] 14, yet another embodiment of the present application provides a method for manufacturing the above-mentioned electrochemical device 100. The order of steps in the manufacturing method can be changed as necessary, and some steps can be omitted or merged.
[0059] In step S1, the electrode assembly 20 is manufactured, and the electrode assembly 20 is electrically connected to the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40, respectively.
[0060] In step S2, the electrode assembly 20 on which the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40 are formed is placed in a packaging bag 10 and sealed to form a sealed portion 12. Then, the first conductive plate 30 and the second conductive plate 40 extend out of the packaging bag 10 from the first sealed portion 121.
[0061] In step S3, the seal portion 12 is folded up to the first flange portion 122 on the first side wall 113.
[0062] Step S4 performs a first fold of the transition region 1200 towards the first end wall 111.
[0063] In step S5, the transition region 1200 is folded a second time toward the first end wall 111 to form the bent corner structure 70.
[0064] Finally, it should be noted that the above embodiments do not limit the technical solution of the present application, but are only used to explain the technical solution of the present application.
