Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE The present disclosure relates generally to laser treatment devices and methods thereof, and more particularly, to laser treatment devices having a cooling system and methods thereof. [Background technology]
[0002] Generally, laser treatment devices are widely used in treatments or procedures for skin care, vascular lesions, hair removal, or wart removal. In particular, in modern society, interest in skin care has increased dramatically, and therefore interest in and research into laser treatment devices has increased.
[0003] However, due to the characteristics of laser treatment, the laser that outputs high energy in a very short time is used on the skin of the body, which causes heat energy to accumulate in a specific area of the skin, which is likely to cause skin damage due to heat. Furthermore, since the treatment is performed based on the principle of generating heat ablation in a specific part of the skin by outputting high energy in a short time, it is highly likely that pain will be caused by heat ablation.
[0004] For this reason, laser treatment has been performed in a manner in which cooling is performed together with laser irradiation. In the case of conventional cooling, there are contact cooling, non-contact cooling, and cooling using air gas. In particular, in the case of conventional spray cooling, when the refrigerant is sprayed, the strong pressure of the sprayed refrigerant is applied to the internal components of the spray unit, causing wear, thereby reducing the durability of the components, and thus causing high costs due to after-sales service (AS) of the components. Furthermore, in the case of spray cooling, the spraying of the refrigerant is carried out based on the experience of medical personnel, so there are still side effects such as skin damage and pain.
[0005] Therefore, there is a need for a laser treatment device and method that has a cooling system to prevent heat-induced damage and reduce pain. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0133]
[0134] FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE The present disclosure relates to a laser treatment device having a cooling system and a treatment method thereof. According to embodiments herein, a laser treatment device having a cooling system may emit a laser to a target area of skin and may cool the skin surface.
[0135] Here, laser treatment can refer to any action in which light energy is applied to a treatment target, and the light energy is converted to thermal energy for the target to facilitate skin care or skin treatment. For example, laser treatment can refer to causing thermal ablation in a treatment target by depositing thermal energy of the light energy of a laser.
[0136] The laser used in the laser procedure may be any type of laser that can be used for skin treatment, and long pulse or short pulse lasers may be used depending on the type of treatment.
[0137] Specifically, the laser used in the laser treatment may be determined by considering the target of the laser treatment, the absorption wavelength in the surrounding tissue, and the location (e.g., depth) in the skin. Regarding the wavelength of the laser, generally, as the wavelength of the laser increases, the penetration depth into the skin may increase. However, since the penetration depth is not only affected by the simple wavelength but also by the absorption rate of the target object, the laser needs to be selected by considering the absorption wavelength of the target object. Furthermore, when light with high absorption rate is used for the surrounding material, the laser may be absorbed by the surrounding material before the treatment of the target object, and therefore heat may not be sufficiently applied to the target object. For example, since most melanin is distributed at a shallow depth near the epidermis of the skin and absorbs most of the light in the short wavelength band, in the case of laser treatment targeting melanin, it is preferable to use a laser with a relatively short wavelength and high absorption for melanin. Furthermore, since lasers with wavelengths below 600 nm are effectively absorbed in the capillaries and lasers with wavelengths above 1200 nm are effectively absorbed by moisture in the skin, it is preferable to use light with wavelengths between 700 nm and 1100 nm for treatments targeting melanin. In other words, the laser used in the laser treatment needs to be selected taking into consideration the absorption rate of the treatment target, its location in the skin (e.g., depth), and the absorption rate of the surrounding tissue.
[0138] Furthermore, the target described herein refers to the target of the treatment. Specifically, the target area refers to a specific area or tissue of the skin to be treated, and may be a part of the patient's body, including the skin, internal and external body tissues, various cells, blood, and saliva, as the area or tissue to which the thermal energy is focused by the laser and the treatment is performed via thermal ablation.
[0139] Furthermore, the skin surface may refer to an area of the skin surface that is located in the laser path when the target area is irradiated with the laser. That is, the skin surface may be an area that is located on the upper layer of the skin rather than the target area. Furthermore, the target area may be located on the skin surface, in which case the target area and the skin surface may refer to substantially the same area. However, it is clear that when the target area is located in a different area below the skin surface, the target area of the skin and the skin surface refer to different areas.
[0140] Furthermore, the skin and the skin surface described in this specification are described as different concepts. Specifically, the skin may be a concept including all of the skin surface, the epidermis, the dermis, and the subcutaneous tissue, and the skin surface is an outer surface tissue of the body and is used as a concept meaning the tissue above the skin. In other words, in this specification, the skin is used as a more comprehensive concept than the skin surface.
[0141] Furthermore, "cooling" as described herein means adding cooling energy to a target to be cooled via a coolant and absorbing thermal energy of the target to be cooled so that the temperature of the target to be cooled is reduced. For example, cooling is performed by adding cooling energy to the target to be cooled in a manner of "spraying" the coolant on the target to be cooled. As another example, cooling may be added to the target to be cooled by adding cooling energy to a cooling medium and "contacting" the cooling medium with the target to be cooled. As yet another example, cooling energy may be added to the target to be cooled by "spraying" air gas. In other words, cooling should be understood as a comprehensive concept including all methods of adding cooling energy to a target to be cooled (e.g., contact type, non-contact type (or spray type), air gas spray type, etc.). However, in the exemplary embodiment disclosed herein, it is possible to cool the skin surface by spraying a coolant on the skin surface by a non-contact method, particularly a spray method.
[0142] Here, the "target to be cooled", i.e., the target on which cooling is performed, may be various. For example, when a laser treatment is performed for a patient, the target to be cooled may be a part of the patient's body, including the skin, the internal and external tissues of the body, various cells, blood, saliva, etc., on which the laser treatment is performed. In other words, in this specification, the target to be cooled should be understood as a comprehensive concept including all areas that are subjected to laser treatment. In particular, when cooling a part of the patient's body by spraying a refrigerant, the refrigerant is generally sprayed on the skin surface, and in this case, the cooling energy may be applied not only to the skin surface but also to the skin tissue in the area inside the skin surface due to the transfer of the cooling energy. In this case, the target to be cooled should be understood as a comprehensive concept including not only the skin surface but also the skin tissue in the area inside the skin surface.
[0143] Furthermore, in the present specification, the term "coolant" may include any substance capable of adding cooling energy to a target to be cooled. For example, the coolant may include cryogens, refrigerants, and coolants, etc., including liquid and / or gas phases. As another example, the coolant may further include a substance that includes a portion of a solid phase. For example, the term "coolant" should be understood as a comprehensive concept that includes all substances that include one phase or a combination of phases that can add cooling energy, such as carbon dioxide, liquid nitrogen, nitrogen dioxide, HFC-based substances, methane, PFC, SF6, cooling water, and cooling gas. In the exemplary embodiment disclosed herein, the coolant may be carbon dioxide. However, the coolant is not limited thereto, and any substance that is not harmful to the skin and can reduce the skin temperature may be used as a coolant for the laser treatment device of the present specification.
[0144] Furthermore, the cooling section in which cooling is performed is hereinafter referred to as a "spray section". In terms of the time relationship with the laser emission section, the spray section may include a pre-cooling section (or a cooling section before radiation), an intermediate cooling section (or a cooling section during radiation), and a post-cooling section (or a cooling section after radiation). The pre-cooling section means a spray section located before the start time of the laser emission section on the time axis. The intermediate cooling section means a spray section that overlaps at least a part of the laser emission section on the time axis. The post-cooling section means a spray section located after the stop time of the laser emission section on the time axis. In other words, the spray section is a section other than the laser emission section and a section at least partially included in the laser emission section, and according to the time relationship with the laser emission section, the section other than the laser emission section may include a pre-cooling section and an after-cooling section, and the section at least partially included in the laser emission section may be an intermediate cooling section. In some embodiments, the laser emission section and the intermediate cooling section may be referred to as substantially the same section. For example, when cooling is performed continuously from the start time of laser emission to the stop time of laser emission, the laser emission section and the intermediate cooling section may be referred to as substantially the same section.
[0145] In this case, the laser may emit multiple pulses in succession at short time intervals (e.g., nanosecond and microsecond time intervals). In this case, the section between the start time of the output of the first laser pulse and the stop time of the output of the last laser pulse may be referred to as the laser emission section. In other words, in the case of a procedure in which the laser emits multiple pulses at nanosecond and microsecond time intervals, the output of the laser of multiple pulses may be used to have substantially the same meaning as a "group" of laser outputs, and thus the laser emission section may refer to the section between the start time of the first pulse in the multiple pulses and the stop time of the last pulse.
[0146] Furthermore, the meaning of applying cooling energy may be used to have substantially the same meaning as absorbing thermal energy from the target to be cooled. Furthermore, absorbing thermal energy from the target to be cooled may have substantially the same meaning as applying negative energy to the target to be cooled. That is, applying cooling energy may be substantially the same as applying negative energy.
[0147] Similarly, the application of thermal energy may be substantially the same as the application of positive energy.
[0148] The laser treatment devices disclosed herein having a cooling system may be used for skin treatments, particularly for skin treatments such as vascular lesions, warts, acne, and pigmentation, and for cosmetics such as hair removal, epilation, wrinkle removal, age spot removal, and localized fat reduction.
[0149] The present disclosure relates to a laser treatment device having a cooling system. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a laser treatment device having a cooling system can emit a laser to a target area of skin and cool the skin surface. In this case, after cooling the skin surface, the laser can be irradiated to the target area, and during the laser irradiation, the skin surface can be cooled at the same time, and after the laser irradiation, the skin surface can be cooled. Cooling the skin surface may be preferably performed by spraying a refrigerant.
[0150] Hereinafter, the configuration of a laser treatment device having a cooling system according to an embodiment of the present specification will be described with reference to FIGS.
[0151] FIG 1 is a perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of a laser treatment device disclosed herein having a cooling system. FIG 2 is a schematic diagram of an embodiment of a laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein having a cooling system.
[0152] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a laser treatment device 100 having a cooling system may include a laser module 1100, a cooling module 1200, a storage unit 1500 (or tank), and a tube 1600 (or conduit).
[0153] The laser module 1100 may generate a laser and output the laser to a target area of the skin 10. The laser module 1100 may include a laser generating unit 1110 and a laser emitting unit 1120. When a voltage is applied to the laser generating unit 1110, electrons may be emitted from its electron emission source, and the electrons may move according to the electric field and collide with an electrode to generate a laser. The laser emitting unit 1120 may output the laser generated from the laser generating unit 1110 toward the target area of the skin 10.
[0154] The cooling module 1200 may apply cooling energy to the skin by spraying a refrigerant on the skin. Here, the cooling module 1200 may control the cooling energy applied to the skin 10. Specifically, the cooling module 1200 may control the cooling energy applied to the skin 10 by controlling the properties of the sprayed refrigerant. Here, the properties of the refrigerant may include physical properties such as the temperature, amount, pressure, and velocity of the refrigerant. Thus, by controlling the physical properties of the refrigerant, the cooling module 1200 may prevent or minimize damage to the skin surface due to the laser treatment. Furthermore, the cooling module 1200 may control the physical properties of the refrigerant and may control the temperature of the refrigerant to minimize the pain caused by the laser by reducing the activity of the nociceptors.
[0155] Additionally, the cooling module 1200 may cool the skin surface temperature by using cooling methods such as spray, contact, or air-gas spray cooling.
[0156] Furthermore, the cooling module 1200 may include a flow control unit 1210 , a refrigerant condition control unit 1220 , and a spray unit 1230 .
[0157] The flow control unit 1210 of the cooling module 1200 may control the amount of refrigerant supplied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 or the spray unit 1230. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the temperature, pressure, and / or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed, and the spray unit 1230 may spray the refrigerant towards the skin surface.
[0158] The storage unit 1500 may receive the refrigerant. Specifically, the storage unit 1500 may receive the refrigerant in a thermodynamic state including a liquid state. Furthermore, the storage unit 1500 may be configured in the form of a cartridge or a tank. The storage unit 1500 may receive more refrigerant than the refrigerant received in the spray unit 1230. In this way, the storage unit 1500 can maintain a stable internal pressure and can contain a larger mass of refrigerant in a liquid state than that in a gas state under the same volume.
[0159] 1, the storage unit 1500 is shown to be located external to the hand piece of the laser treatment device 100, but may also be configured to be located internal to the hand piece of the laser treatment device 100. For example, when the storage unit 1500 is configured as a tank, the storage unit 1500 may be located external to the hand piece of the laser treatment device 100, but when the storage unit 1500 is configured as a cartridge, the storage unit 1500 may optionally be configured to be located internal to the hand piece of the laser treatment device 100.
[0160] Furthermore, the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiments herein may further include a tube 1600 connecting the storage unit 1500 with an inlet of the cooling module 1200. Furthermore, although not shown in Figures 1 and 2, the components of the cooling module 1200 may be connected to each other by a tube. For example, the inlet of the cooling module 1200 and a first side of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be connected to each other by a tube, and the second side of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and one side of the spray unit 1230 may be connected to each other by a tube.
[0161] Furthermore, the laser treatment device 100 may include at least one tube. In the laser treatment device 100, the tube may be used to form a flow path for spraying the coolant discharged from the storage unit 1500 to the outside through the spray unit 1230.
[0162] The laser treatment device 100 may include tubes involved in forming a flow path between the refrigerant outlet of the storage unit 1500 and the inlet of the flow control unit 1210. In other words, at least one tube may be disposed between the refrigerant outlet of the storage unit 1500 and the inlet of the flow control unit 1210.
[0163] The laser treatment device 100 may include tubes involved in forming a flow path between the outlet of the flow control unit 1210 and the inlet of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and / or between the outlet of the flow control unit 1210 and the outlet of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0164] The laser treatment device 100 may include tubes involved in forming a flow path between the outlet of the flow control unit 1210 and the inlet of the spray unit 1230 and / or between the outlet of the flow control unit 1210 and the outlet of the spray unit 1230.
[0165] The laser treatment device 100 may include tubes involved in forming a flow path between the outlet of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and the inlet of the spray unit 1230 and / or between the outlet of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and the outlet of the spray unit 1230.
[0166] According to the embodiments herein, the laser module 1100 and the cooling module 1200 of the laser treatment device 100 may be coupled to each other in various ways. For example, the laser module 1100 and the cooling module 1200 may be configured as an add-on type. Alternatively, the laser module 1100 and the cooling module 1200 may be configured as a stand-alone type.
[0167] The stand-alone type may refer to a type in which the laser treatment method according to the embodiments herein can be performed without a separate external device.
[0168] The add-on type may mean a type in which the laser treatment device according to the embodiment of the present specification can cooperate with an external device to perform laser treatment. The add-on type cooling system may be provided in a form in which some components are removed from the stand-alone type cooling system. For example, the add-on type cooling system may be configured by removing the laser module. In this case, the laser treatment method according to the embodiment of the present specification may be performed when the external device that emits a laser and the add-on type cooling system cooperate with each other.
[0169] The above-described cooling module 1200 will now be described in more detail.
[0170] 2, the cooling module 1200 may include a flow control unit 1210, a refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and a spray unit 1230. Additionally, the cooling module 1200 may further include an inlet for receiving refrigerant from a storage unit 1500 that receives refrigerant.
[0171] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the flow control unit 1210 may be configured as a valve. The valve may function to control the flow and amount of refrigerant. The valve may function to release or block the refrigerant passing through the valve. Alternatively, the valve may function to control the degree to which the refrigerant passing through the valve is released.
[0172] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the valves may be controlled according to a particular signal. The valves may be opened or closed in response to an electronic signal generated by the control module 1400. As a specific example, but not limited to, the valves may be electronic valves (e.g., solenoid valves).
[0173] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the valves may be controlled in response to mechanical structures and fluid movement. The valves may be opened and closed in response to pressure created by fluid moving along a flow path within the laser treatment device 100. By way of example, and not limitation, the valves may be hydraulic valves (e.g., pressure controlled valves).
[0174] According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the valve may be controlled in response to user input. The valve may be opened or closed by the user. By way of example, and not limitation, the valve may be a manually operated valve (e.g., a globe valve).
[0175] For example, the flow control unit 1210 may be located between the inlet of the cooling module 1200 and the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. In this case, the flow control unit 1210 may control the amount of refrigerant supplied from the inlet of the cooling module 1200 to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. For example, a valve may be located between the inlet of the cooling module 1200 and the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and may control the amount of refrigerant supplied from the inlet of the cooling module 1200 to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Specifically, when the valve is opened, refrigerant may move from the inlet of the cooling module 1200 to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and when the valve is closed, refrigerant may be restricted from moving from the inlet of the cooling module 1200 to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Furthermore, the opening time and cycle of the valve may be controlled to control the amount of refrigerant that can move from the inlet of the cooling module 1200 to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0176] As another example, the flow control unit 1210 may be located between the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and the spray unit 1230 inside the cooling module 1200. In this case, the flow control unit 1210 may control the amount of refrigerant supplied from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the spray unit 1230. For example, a valve may be located between the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and the spray unit 1230 and may control the amount of refrigerant supplied from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the spray unit 1230. Specifically, when the valve is open, refrigerant may move from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the spray unit 1230, and when the valve is closed, refrigerant may be restricted from moving from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the spray unit 1230. Furthermore, by controlling the opening time and opening cycle of the valve, it is possible to control the amount of refrigerant that can move from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the spray unit 1230. In other words, by controlling the open time of the flow control unit 1210, the amount of refrigerant supplied to the spray unit 1230 can be controlled, and ultimately the amount of refrigerant to be sprayed can be controlled to control the skin surface temperature.
[0177] For example, the flow control unit 1210 may be configured as a solenoid valve, which is electrically connected to the control module 1400 and the input unit, such that a signal generated by a user operating the input unit is input to the control module 1400, and based on this, the control module 1400 may control the solenoid valve to be opened so as to control the inflow or outflow of refrigerant.
[0178] For example, the flow control unit 1210 may be configured as a solenoid valve. In this case, the solenoid valve may control the inflow or outflow of the refrigerant by adjusting the opening cycle of the valve by a pulse width modulation (PWM) method according to an electrical signal from the control module 1400. Specifically, the solenoid valve automatically performs multiple opening / closing operations according to a pre-set protocol from the control module 1400 so that the valve can be opened only for a pre-defined period during the procedure. In this case, the opening cycle of the valve may be a regular cycle or an irregular cycle.
[0179] 2, the cooling module 1200 of the laser treatment device 100 may include a refrigerant condition control unit 1220. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may function to control the physical state of the refrigerant. In other words, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may perform the function of controlling the physical state of the refrigerant of the laser treatment device 100. That is, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may function to control the physical state of the refrigerant moving in the cooling module 1200 including the flow control unit 1210 and / or the spray unit 1230.
[0180] In one embodiment, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the temperature and / or pressure of the refrigerant. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may heat the refrigerant. Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may cool the refrigerant. Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may heat and / or cool the refrigerant depending on the state of the refrigerant to maintain the temperature of the refrigerant. Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may heat and / or cool the refrigerant depending on the state of the refrigerant to maintain the pressure of the refrigerant.
[0181] In one embodiment, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the velocity and / or pressure of the refrigerant. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may provide space for the refrigerant to expand, decreasing the velocity and pressure of the refrigerant. Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may provide space for the refrigerant to compress, increasing the velocity and pressure of the refrigerant.
[0182] In one embodiment, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may perform control of the amount of refrigerant. For example, if the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is increased, the freedom of the refrigerant to move through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 increases, thus increasing its static pressure, resulting in a decrease in the amount of refrigerant. Conversely, if the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is decreased, the freedom of the refrigerant to flow through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 decreases, thus decreasing its static pressure, resulting in an increase in the amount of refrigerant.
[0183] The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an element capable of supplying thermal energy. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may generate thermal energy.
[0184] The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may generate thermal energy by using chemical energy or by using electrical energy. Additionally, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may generate thermal energy by using the Joule-Thomson method in which condensed gas is used.
[0185] Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may provide thermal energy by using a thermoelectric element, such as a Peltier element. If the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is a thermoelectric element, when a current is applied to the thermoelectric element, a first surface of the thermoelectric element may absorb heat and heat may be generated at a second surface of the thermoelectric element due to the Peltier effect.
[0186] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a laser treatment device 100 may be provided in which a surface corresponding to the second surface of the thermoelectric element is configured to be in thermal contact with a flow path through which a coolant flows, in which case the thermoelectric element may function as a coolant condition control unit 1220.
[0187] 2, the cooling module 1200 of the laser treatment device 100 may include a spray unit 1230. The spray unit 1230 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may function to spray the fluid inside the cooling module 1200 to the outside. The spray unit 1230 may function to discharge the refrigerant passing through the flow control unit 1210 and / or the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to the outside.
[0188] The spray unit 1230 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may be configured as a nozzle. The nozzle may perform the function of injecting the refrigerant flowing through at least one area in the cooling module 1200 into free space and reaching the area on the skin surface. Furthermore, the spray unit 1230 may be configured to include a nozzle structure that can optimize the Joule-Thomson effect. Specifically, the nozzle is formed to be narrower than the flow path through which the high-pressure refrigerant flows, and when the flow path is opened, the high-pressure refrigerant is guided along the flow path to the nozzle, and the refrigerant discharged through the nozzle can be sprayed in a cooled state due to the Joule-Thomson effect.
[0189] The refrigerant sprayed through the spray unit 1230 is sprayed in a cooled state due to the Joule-Thomson effect. Here, the Joule-Thomson effect is a phenomenon in which the temperature of a compressed gas decreases when the compressed gas expands. This phenomenon is a change in temperature related to a thermodynamic phase consisting of pressure-temperature, and is applied to liquefying air or cooling air through a refrigerant. When an opening such as an orifice is inserted into the flow path of the fluid, the temperature of the fluid decreases behind the opening. This phenomenon is a phenomenon in which the internal energy is almost unchanged when the gas expands freely, that is, when the gas expands adiabatically without exchanging work with the outside. This phenomenon refers to the effect of adiabatic free expansion to obtain low temperature using a gas liquefaction device. Due to the Joule-Thomson effect, the refrigerant sprayed through the spray unit 1230 is cooled due to its rapid pressure reduction, and when the refrigerant is sprayed on the treatment area, the refrigerant can take heat from the treatment area by contacting the treatment area, thus cooling the treatment area.
[0190] The refrigerant sprayed into the free space may be in a gas phase, a liquid phase, and / or a solid phase. In other words, the refrigerant may be in a gas phase, a liquid phase, or a solid phase, and may be a mixture of at least two or more phases of refrigerant dispersed together. In one example, when the refrigerant is carbon dioxide (CO2), the sprayed refrigerant may be dispersed as a mixture of gas and solid. In another example, when the refrigerant is nitrogen (N2), the sprayed refrigerant may be dispersed as a mixture of gas and liquid.
[0191] Additionally, the nozzle may have wear-resistant properties, i.e., the nozzle may be made of a material that is not prone to wear damage, for example, but not limited to, an aluminum alloy, a steel alloy, a stainless steel, or a copper alloy.
[0192] Additionally, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the spray unit 1230 may further include a spray restriction that limits the area of the skin surface reached by the refrigerant emitted from the spray unit 1230. Additionally, the spray unit may further include a guide to prevent the refrigerant from reaching areas other than the spray restriction.
[0193] 2, according to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the laser treatment device 100 may include a sensing unit 1300. The sensing unit 1300 may detect the skin surface temperature, the refrigerant temperature, and the temperature of the components of the cooling module 1200, or any suitable combination thereof.
[0194] The sensing unit 1300 may include a first temperature sensing unit that measures the temperature of the skin surface.
[0195] Additionally, the sensing unit 1300 may include a second temperature sensing unit that measures the temperature of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and / or the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 .
[0196] Additionally, the sensing unit 1300 may include a third temperature sensing unit that measures the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed from the spray unit 1230 .
[0197] The first temperature sensing unit may measure the temperature of an area of the skin surface where the laser is applied, where the laser is being applied, or where the laser application is completed. The first temperature sensing unit may preferably measure the temperature of a center of a target area of the skin surface (e.g., an area of the skin surface within the laser path). Although the first temperature sensing unit may be configured to measure an area of the skin surface other than the center of the target area, the temperature of the center of the target area is increased the most by the laser power and is therefore more likely to reach skin-damaging temperatures, and therefore it is possible to minimize the possibility of skin damage by measuring the temperature of the center of the target area of the skin surface.
[0198] In this case, the first temperature sensing unit may be configured as a non-contact temperature sensing unit. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, the separation distance between the laser treatment device 100 and the skin surface may be changed, and in this case, the angle of the non-contact temperature sensing unit may be adjusted so that the non-contact temperature sensing unit measures the center of the target area of the skin surface according to the separation distance. For example, the laser treatment device 100 of the present disclosure may further include a cooling distance maintaining unit that can adjust the distance between the laser treatment device and the skin surface to a plurality of distances (e.g., 1 cm, 2 cm, and 3 cm). In this case, the cooling distance maintaining unit is mechanically interlocked with the non-contact temperature sensing unit, so that the installation angle of the non-contact temperature sensing unit is adjusted so that the center of the target area of the skin surface is inspected according to the distance preset by the cooling distance maintaining unit.
[0199] The second temperature sensing unit may measure the temperature of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and / or the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. As an example, if the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is a thermoelectric element such as a Peltier element, when a current is applied to the thermoelectric element, a first surface of the thermoelectric element may absorb heat and heat may be generated on a second surface of the thermoelectric element due to the Peltier effect. In this case, since the thermal energy generated or absorbed in the thermoelectric element is different depending on the current applied to the thermoelectric element, the second temperature sensing unit may be configured to measure the temperature of at least one of the first surface and the second surface of the thermoelectric element. Since the thermal energy generated or absorbed in the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is one of the direct variables in controlling the temperature of the target area of the skin surface, the temperature of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be measured to obtain data that allows the temperature of the target area of the skin surface to be accurately controlled.
[0200] However, this is just one example, and the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may measure the amount of thermal energy added to the refrigerant based on information about the current value obtained by measuring the current applied to the thermoelectric element and the temperature of the refrigerant measured by a third temperature detection unit described later.
[0201] The third temperature sensing unit may be configured to measure the temperature of the coolant sprayed by the spray unit 1230. Since the temperature of the coolant sprayed by the spray unit 1230 is one of the direct variables in controlling the temperature of the target area of the skin surface, the temperature of the coolant sprayed by the spray unit 1230 is measured so as to obtain data that allows accurate control of the temperature of the target area of the skin surface. However, it is clear that the third temperature sensing unit is not limited to the temperature of the coolant sprayed by the spray unit 1230, and the third temperature sensing unit may be configured to measure the temperature of the coolant flowing through the flow path at any position in the cooling module 1200 of the laser treatment device 100, and the object of the present disclosure of accurately controlling the temperature of the target area of the skin surface can be achieved.
[0202] 2, the laser treatment device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a control module 1400. In this case, the control module 1400 may further include a memory in which existing treatment information, temperature information such as the temperature of the refrigerant and the skin surface temperature, and treatment protocol information are stored.
[0203] The control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may control the overall operation of the laser treatment device 100. For example, the control module 1400 may load and execute a program for the operation of the cooling module 1200 from a memory, generate a control signal for controlling the laser emitted by the laser emission module 100, or receive a trigger signal from a user via an input unit and send the trigger signal to the laser module 1100, the cooling module 1200, and the detection unit 1300.
[0204] The control module 1400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may control the operation of the laser treatment device 100. For example, the control module 1400 may control the emission of the laser by the laser module 1100 of the laser treatment device 100. Furthermore, the control module 1400 may enable the physical properties of the refrigerant to be controlled by the cooling module 1200 of the laser treatment device 100 and may control the refrigerant to be sprayed. Furthermore, the control module 1400 may control the sensing unit 1300 of the laser treatment device 100 to detect the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant.
[0205] The control module 1400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may control the operation of the laser generation unit 1110 and the laser emission unit 1120 of the laser module 1100.
[0206] The control module 1400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may control the operation of the flow control unit 1210. As a more specific example, the control module 1400 may control the opening / closing of the flow control unit 1210, and may control the opening / closing of the flow control unit 1210 to have a repeating cycle when necessary.
[0207] Additionally, the control module 1400 may control the duration of the open / close times of the flow control unit 1210. Thus, the control module 1400 may control the amount of refrigerant delivered to the spray unit 1230, which in turn may control the amount of cooling energy applied to the target area of the skin surface.
[0208] The control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may control the operation of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. For example, the control module 1400 may control whether the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is operated (e.g., whether the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is turned on / off), and may control the turn-on / off of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 when necessary, taking into account the relationship between the refrigerant condition control unit and the open / close of the flow control unit 1210 (e.g., a valve). In particular, when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is a thermoelectric element (e.g., a Peltier element), the control module 1400 may control the amount of current applied to the thermoelectric element. In this way, the degree of heat absorption of a first surface of the thermoelectric element and the degree of heat generation of its second surface may be controlled, and therefore the amount of thermal energy added to the refrigerant by the thermoelectric element can be controlled.
[0209] Here, an increase in the amount of thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 (e.g., a thermoelectric element) may be substantially the same as an increase in the temperature of the refrigerant flowing through the flow path within the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and a decrease in the amount of thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 (e.g., a thermoelectric element) may be substantially the same as a decrease in the temperature of the refrigerant flowing through the flow path within the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0210] According to another embodiment of the present disclosure, by reversing the direction of the current applied to the thermoelectric element, the control module 1400 may control heat to be generated on a first surface of the thermoelectric element and heat to be absorbed on a second surface of the thermoelectric element. In this case, the coolant flowing through the coolant temperature control unit 1220 may be "cooled" by the absorption of heat by the second surface of the thermoelectric element. Accordingly, when the thermoelectric element is applied to the coolant temperature control unit 1220, the control module 1400 may control the direction of the current applied to the thermoelectric element and may heat or cool the coolant flowing through the coolant temperature control unit 1220.
[0211] 2, the common control module 1400 is shown to control the laser module 1100 and the cooling module 1200, but is not limited thereto, and the laser treatment device 100 may include multiple control modules, where a first control module of the multiple control modules controls the operation of the laser module 1100 and a second control module of the multiple control modules is configured to control the operation of the cooling module 1200. In this case, the first control module and the second control module may be electrically connected to each other and may control the laser emission and the coolant spray, respectively, to be performed by considering the connection between the laser module 1100 and the cooling module 1200.
[0212] The control module 1400 may be configured as a central processing unit (CPU) or a similar device by hardware or software or a combination thereof. For example, the control module 1400 may be configured as a controller or processor. The control module 1400 may be provided in the form of electronic circuits as hardware that executes control functions by processing electrical signals, or in the form of programs or codes as software for driving hardware circuits.
[0213] The components of the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure have been described above. However, the laser treatment device 100 of the present disclosure does not need to include only the above components, and may further include an input unit for receiving user input, an output unit such as a display for outputting specific information to the user, and a filter for filtering impurities from the coolant flowing through the laser treatment device 100, although not shown.
[0214] Additionally, the laser treatment device 100 may have a separate power supply or may receive power externally, either wired or wirelessly, and may have a separate switch to control the power supply.
[0215]
[0216] The connections between the components of the laser treatment device 100 and the specific operation of the laser treatment device 100 according to embodiments of the present disclosure are described in detail below.
[0217] The following description will be made with reference to Fig. 3. Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram showing the operation of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein having the cooling system according to the above embodiment. The laser module 1100 may radiate a laser to a target on the skin 10, and the cooling module 1200 may spray a coolant on an area including the target on the skin 10 and the skin surface. In Fig. 3, the coolant is sprayed by the cooling module 1200 when the laser is output from the laser module 1100, but this is not limited, and the cooling module 1200 may spray the coolant before the laser is output or after the output of the laser is stopped.
[0218] Additionally, the sensing unit 1300 can measure the skin surface temperature in response to the laser radiation and / or the refrigerant spray. Additionally, the sensing unit 1300 can measure the change in skin surface temperature in response to the laser radiation and / or the refrigerant spray.
[0219] Furthermore, each of the laser module 1100, the cooling module 1200, and the sensing unit 1300 may be electrically connected to the control module 1400 to send electrical signals to or receive electrical signals from the control module 1400. The control module 1400 may control the operation of the laser module 1100, the cooling module 1200, and the sensing unit 1300 via the electrical signals.
[0220] The control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may control the first temperature sensing unit of the sensing unit 1300 to control the temperature of the skin surface which is a path of the laser when the laser module 1100 irradiates the target area with the laser. In this case, the first temperature sensing unit of the sensing unit 1300 may measure the skin surface temperature before, during, and after the laser irradiation, and the detected skin surface temperature may be transmitted to the control module 1400.
[0221] For example, the control module 1400 and the first temperature detection unit of the detection unit 1300 may be electrically connected to each other, and the skin surface temperature measured by the first temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and stored therein.
[0222]
[0223] The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 of the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may control the temperature and / or pressure and / or amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed. In this case, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the temperature and / or pressure of the refrigerant by controlling the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant. In this case, the detection unit 1300 may further include a second temperature detection unit that measures the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. The second temperature detection unit may measure the amount of change in temperature of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 or the amount of change in temperature of the refrigerant passing through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 (e.g., the amount of change in temperature of the refrigerant between the inlet and the outlet of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220), and may measure the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant. However, without being limited thereto, the purpose of measuring the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may also be achieved by a method of measuring the intensity of the current applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0224] In this case, temperature information regarding the temperature of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 detected by the second temperature detection unit (e.g., the temperature of the first and second surfaces of the thermoelectric element) or the amount of change in temperature of the refrigerant passing through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be transmitted to the control module 1400.
[0225] For example, the control module 1400 and the second temperature detection unit of the detection unit 1300 may be electrically connected to each other, and the temperature information measured by the second temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and stored therein.
[0226] Furthermore, the spray unit 1230 of the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may spray the coolant. In this case, the spray unit 1230 may be configured to spray the coolant sprayed at a temperature and amount of the coolant controlled by the coolant condition control unit 1220 and / or the flow control unit 1210. In this case, the detection unit 1300 may include a third temperature detection unit that can measure the temperature of the coolant sprayed by the spray unit 1230, and the temperature of the coolant detected by the third temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400.
[0227] For example, the control module 1400 and the third temperature detection unit of the detection unit 1300 may be electrically connected to each other, and the temperature information of the sprayed refrigerant detected by the third temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and stored therein.
[0228] The control module 1400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may control the duration of the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210 or the current applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 based on multiple temperature information received and stored in the control module 1400 detected by the first temperature detection unit to the third temperature detection unit.
[0229] The control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may be electrically connected to the flow control unit 1210, and the control module 1400 may accurately control the amount of refrigerant supplied by controlling the open / close cycle or the open / close time period of the flow control unit 1210 based on the temperature data detected by the first to third temperature detection units. Furthermore, a timer may measure data on the open / close cycle and the open / close time period of the flow control unit 1210, and the data on the open / close cycle and the open / close time period of the flow control unit 1210 measured by the timer may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and stored therein. The open / close cycle and the open / close time period of the flow control unit 1210 stored in the control module 1400 may be used as a basis for controlling the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed in combination with the skin surface temperature or / and the temperature of the refrigerant. The control module 1400 may control the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed based on the duration of the open / close cycle and open / close time of the flow control unit 1210 and data about the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant.
[0230] Further, the control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may be electrically connected to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and the control module 1400 may be configured to control the amount of heat energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and / or the amount of refrigerant passing through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 based on the temperature data detected by the first to third temperature detection units. Furthermore, information about the heat energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be measured by the second temperature detection unit, and the information about the heat energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 measured by the second temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and stored therein. The information about the heat energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 stored in the control module 1400 may be combined with the skin surface temperature or / and the temperature of the refrigerant to be used as a basis for controlling the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed later. In other words, the control module 1400 may control the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed based on information about the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, the skin surface temperature, and the temperature of the refrigerant.
[0231] The control module 1400 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may control the heat energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and / or the duration of the open / close time, the open / close cycle, and / or the open / close of the flow control unit 1210. Thus, the control module 1400 may control the "skin surface temperature" by controlling the amount of refrigerant sprayed. In this case, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed by using the existing information of the skin surface temperature detected by the first temperature sensing unit and stored in the control module 1400, and the temperature information detected by at least one of the second temperature sensing unit and the third temperature sensing unit and stored in the control module 1400. Furthermore, the control module 1400 may control the spray unit 1230 to spray the refrigerant of the controlled temperature toward the skin surface to control the "skin surface temperature".
[0232] For example, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may be stored in the control module 1400 for each treatment by using temperature information based on the degree of thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Furthermore, information of the skin surface temperature controlled according to the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may also be stored in the control module 1400. In other words, the control module 1400 may store and analyze information about the degree of thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and control the skin surface temperature to a specific temperature by using the stored temperature information. The control module 1400 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may control the skin surface temperature by controlling the temperature of the "refrigerant" by using the temperature information described above.
[0233] Furthermore, the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100 according to the present specification may control the duration of the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant and / or the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210 by taking into account whether the laser emission section and the refrigerant spray section overlap.
[0234] For example, in the case of pre-cooling before laser radiation, the control module 1400 may receive skin surface temperature information from the detection unit 1300, and control the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed before the start time of laser radiation through the control of the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 so that the skin surface temperature is controlled to a critical temperature at which the skin surface is damaged or lower in the "laser radiation section". In this case, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed in the pre-cooling section P1 so that the skin surface temperature is at or lower than the critical temperature at which the skin surface is damaged by taking into account the increase in the skin surface temperature caused by the laser in the laser radiation section.
[0235] Furthermore, in the section where the laser radiation is performed, the control module 1400 may receive information of the skin surface temperature caused by the laser radiation from the detection unit 1300, and may control the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed in the laser radiation section through the control of the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. In this case, the temperature of the refrigerant may be controlled by the control module 1400 such that the skin surface temperature caused by the laser radiation is controlled to a critical temperature or lower than the temperature at which the skin surface is damaged.
[0236] Furthermore, in the case of post-cooling after the laser is emitted, the control module 1400 may receive skin surface temperature information from the sensing unit 1300 and may control the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed after the stop time of the laser emission section through control of the heat energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. In this case, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant to be controlled at a certain temperature to minimize pain to the skin 10.
[0237] FIG. 4 is a graph showing the change in the skin surface temperature and the target temperature controlled by an exemplary embodiment of the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein. Here, "T_surface" in FIG. 4 may refer to the skin surface temperature herein. Furthermore, "T_target" in FIG. 4 may refer to the target temperature herein. Furthermore, "T_damage" in FIG. 4 may refer to the skin damage temperature herein. Furthermore, "T_desired" in FIG. 4 may refer to the desired temperature of the target herein. Furthermore, "P1", "P2", and "P3" in FIG. 4 may refer to the "pre-cooling section", "middle cooling section", and "post-cooling section", respectively, herein. Furthermore, "Ts1", "Ts2", and "Ts3" in FIG. 4 may refer to the "first set temperature", "second set temperature", and "third set temperature", respectively, herein.
[0238] According to an embodiment of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the control module 1400 may control the coolant spray section to include at least a portion of the laser emission section via the flow control unit 1210. For example, in Fig. 4, the coolant spray section includes a pre-cooling section P1, an intermediate cooling section P2 of the laser emission section, and a post-cooling section P3, and the intermediate cooling section P2 may include at least a portion of the laser emission section and may be substantially the same section as the laser emission section.
[0239] Furthermore, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 based on the skin temperature information of the refrigerant spray section (e.g., the skin surface temperature and the target temperature, etc.). In this way, the skin surface temperature can be controlled to reduce damage to the skin surface by the laser. For example, referring to FIG. 4, the second set temperature Ts2 may be preset so that the skin surface temperature of the laser emission section is controlled to a skin damage temperature or lower, and therefore the refrigerant can be sprayed at the temperature of the refrigerant controlled via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0240] According to an embodiment of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the control module 1400, via the flow control unit 1210, may control the spray section of the refrigerant to include at least a part of the laser emission section. In this case, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may apply different thermal energy to the refrigerant in the spray section other than the laser emission section of the refrigerant (e.g., the pre-cooling section P1 and / or the post-cooling section P3) and the spray section of the laser emission section.
[0241] 4, the spray section may include a pre-cooling section P1, an intermediate cooling section P2 (laser radiation section), and a post-cooling section P3, and in particular, the intermediate cooling section P2 may be controlled to include at least a part of the laser radiation section. In this case, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the laser radiation section may be different from the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the spray section other than the laser radiation section, for example, the pre-cooling section P1 and / or the post-cooling section P3.
[0242] According to the embodiment of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the difference between the skin surface temperature and the skin lesion temperature in the laser emitting section may be smaller than the difference between the skin surface temperature and the skin lesion temperature in the non-laser emitting section. Therefore, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the laser emitting section may be smaller than the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the non-laser emitting section. In other words, the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed in the laser emitting section may be lower than the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed in the non-laser emitting section.
[0243] For example, referring to Fig. 4, the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the laser emission section may be smaller than the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit in the sections other than the laser emission section (e.g., pre-cooling section P1 and post-cooling section P3). In other words, since the temperature rise of the skin 10 due to the laser output may be higher in the laser emission section than in the sections other than the laser emission section, the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 in the laser emission section may be controlled to be smaller than in the spray sections other than the laser emission section so that the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed in the laser emission section can be controlled to be lower.
[0244] However, the above description is by way of example only, and the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, whether under the laser radiation section or not, may be controlled based on the difference between the skin surface temperature and the skin injury temperature measured by the detection unit 1300.
[0245] According to the above embodiment of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the spray section may include a first time point TP1 and a second time point TP2. The first time point TP1 is a time point in the spray section, and may be included in a first section before the laser emission section (e.g., pre-cooling section P1) or in a second section after the laser emission section (e.g., post-cooling section P3). The second time point TP2 may be included in the laser emission section. In this case, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 adds a first thermal energy to the refrigerant at the first time point TP1 of the spray section, and adds a second thermal energy to the refrigerant at the second time point TP2 of the laser emission section, and the second thermal energy may be smaller than the first thermal energy.
[0246] For example, referring to Fig. 4, the first time point TP1 may be a time point included in the pre-cooling section P1 of the spray section, and the second time point TP2 may be a time point included in the intermediate cooling section P2 of the laser emission section and the spray section. In this case, since a temperature rise is caused by the laser emission at the second time point TP2, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant can be controlled to be relatively low in the spray section of the laser emission section by controlling the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to be larger at the first time point TP1 than at the second time point TP2.
[0247] According to the above embodiment of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the spray section may include a first time point TP1 and a second time point TP2. The first time point TP1 may be a time point in the spray section, and may be a time point included in a first section before the laser emission section (e.g., pre-cooling section P1) or a second section after the laser emission section (e.g., post-cooling section P3). The second time point TP2 may be a time point included in the laser emission section. In this case, when the skin surface temperature at the first time point TP1 is lower than the skin surface temperature at the second time point TP2, the control module 1400 may add a first thermal energy at the first time point TP1 and add a second thermal energy "less than" the first thermal energy at the second time point TP2. Through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, the control module 1400 may control the thermal energy added to the refrigerant at each of the first time point TP1 and the second time point TP2.
[0248] In Fig. 4, the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 are shown to be different temperatures, but are not limited thereto, and at least two of the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be the same. Alternatively, the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be preset to be the same. This will be described in detail later with reference to Figs. 6 to 8.
[0249] Further, in FIG. 4, although all of the pre-cooling section P1, intermediate cooling section P2, and post-cooling section P3 are shown to be included, this is not limited thereto, and depending on the purpose and type of treatment, the refrigerant may be sprayed to include only some of the pre-cooling section P1, intermediate cooling section P2, and post-cooling section P3.
[0250] In the above, various operations of the laser module 1100, the cooling module 1200, the sensing unit 1300, the control module 1400, the storage unit 1500, and the tube 1600 of the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiments of the present disclosure have been described, which can be inferred and applied to the operation method of the laser treatment device 100 having a cooling system, which will be described later.
[0251]
[0252] FIG. 5 is a flow chart illustrating one embodiment of a method S1000 of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein.
[0253] A laser treatment method S1000 using a laser treatment device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include steps of measuring the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant in S1100; determining the temperature or amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed in S1200; and spraying the refrigerant in S1300.
[0254] In the laser treatment method S1000 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure, when the laser treatment starts, the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant may be measured in S1100, and the temperature or the amount of the refrigerant sprayed may be determined by considering the measured temperature and a predetermined set temperature in S1200. Further, the spray of the refrigerant may be performed in S1300 according to the temperature or the amount of the refrigerant sprayed determined in S1200.
[0255] According to the above embodiment, the temperature may be preset before S1000 begins (or before S1100).
[0256] The set temperature may be a desired temperature intended to control the skin surface temperature. Alternatively, the set temperature may be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the refrigerant being sprayed. Alternatively, the set temperature may be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the target being treated by the laser.
[0257] In this case, the user may directly preset each of the skin surface temperature, the temperature of the coolant sprayed, and / or the desired temperature of the target as the specific temperature desired to be controlled. For example, the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may include an input unit capable of receiving a user's input, through which the user may input at least one of the skin surface temperature, the temperature of the coolant, and the desired temperature of the target as the specific temperature desired to be controlled. At least one of the skin surface temperature, the temperature of the coolant, and the desired temperature of the target inputted to the input unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and may be used as a factor to be considered in determining the temperature or the amount of the coolant sprayed in S1200.
[0258] In another example, the set temperature may be set by the "control module" 1400 taking into consideration the treatment area, the type of lesion to be treated, the purpose of the treatment, and the type of laser to be used. For example, the laser treatment device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include an input unit capable of receiving a user's input, through which the user may input treatment information such as the type of lesion to be treated, the treatment area, the purpose of the treatment, and the type of laser to be used. In this case, the treatment information input to the input unit is transmitted to the control module 1400, which may preset at least one of the skin surface temperature, the coolant temperature, and the desired target temperature as a specific value based on the received treatment information. At least one of the skin surface temperature, the coolant temperature, and the desired target temperature preset by the control module 1400 may be modified or confirmed by the user. At least one of the skin surface temperature, the refrigerant temperature, and the desired target temperature preset by the control module 1400 may be transmitted to the control module 1400 and may be used as a factor to be taken into consideration in determining the refrigerant temperature or spray amount in S1200.
[0259] Furthermore, in setting the set temperature, at least one of the skin surface temperature, the temperature of the sprayed coolant, and the desired temperature of the target may be set to be different between the laser emission section and the spray section. In other words, in setting the set temperature, the first set temperature Ts1 of the pre-cooling section P1, the second set temperature Ts2 of the intermediate cooling section P2, and the third set temperature Ts3 of the post-cooling section P3 may be set in advance. Furthermore, in setting the set temperature, the first set temperature Ts1 of the pre-cooling section P1, the second set temperature Ts2 of the intermediate cooling section P2, and the third set temperature Ts3 of the post-cooling section P3 may be set to be different. This will be described in detail with reference to Figures 6 to 8.
[0260] The input unit may be formed on the outer surface of the laser treatment device 100, and may be provided in a space separate from the laser treatment device 100 so as to communicate with the laser treatment device 100 by wire or wirelessly. For example, the input unit may be provided in the form of a display on the outer surface of the hand piece of the laser treatment device 100. As another example, the input unit may be configured as an external device capable of wireless communication with the laser treatment device 100. However, the input unit is not limited thereto, and may be provided in various ways capable of transmitting set temperature information or treatment information to the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100.
[0261] As described above, although the step of setting the set temperature is described as being performed before S1000 begins, this is by way of example only and the set temperature may be set at any suitable step within S1000.
[0262] Each step will now be described in detail.
[0263] 2 and 5, in S1100, the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant may be measured.
[0264] The step of measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the coolant temperature in S1100 may be performed by detecting temperature information by using the sensing unit 1300 of the laser treatment device 100, and then transmitting the detected temperature information to the control module 1400. The temperature information may include at least one of the skin surface temperature and the coolant temperature. In other words, the laser treatment device 100 may measure the skin surface temperature and / or the coolant temperature, and specifically, the temperature information may be detected via the sensing unit 1300.
[0265] For example, the detection unit 1300 may include a first temperature detection unit capable of measuring the temperature of the skin surface, and the skin surface temperature measured by the first temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100 and stored therein.
[0266] As another example, the detection unit 1300 may include a third temperature detection unit capable of measuring the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed by the spray unit 1230, and the measured temperature of the refrigerant measured by the third temperature detection unit may be transmitted to the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100 and stored therein.
[0267] 5, the temperature information is shown to include, but is not limited to, the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant, and may include temperature information related to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. For example, the sensing unit 1300 may include a second temperature sensing unit that can measure the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and the temperature information measured by the second temperature sensing unit may be transmitted to and stored in the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100.
[0268] 5, the temperature information is shown to include both the skin surface temperature and the refrigerant temperature, but only the skin surface temperature, excluding the refrigerant temperature, may be measured and taken into consideration when determining the refrigerant temperature or spray amount in S1200 described later. In other words, the measurement of the refrigerant temperature in S1100 of FIG. 5 may be omitted.
[0269] Referring back to FIG. 5, a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include determining a temperature or spray amount of the coolant taking into account the temperature measured in S1100 and a predetermined set temperature in S1200.
[0270] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, determining the temperature or amount of spray of the coolant in S1200 taking into account the measured temperature and a predetermined set temperature may take into account the temperature measured in S1100 when determining the temperature or amount of spray of the coolant. Further, S1200 may take into account the predetermined set temperature when determining the temperature or amount of spray of the coolant. Further, S1200 may take into account the difference between the measured temperature and the predetermined set temperature when determining the temperature or amount of spray of the coolant.
[0271] The measured temperature may be a temperature including at least one of the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant measured by the sensing unit 1300. Specifically, the skin surface temperature may be a temperature measured by the first temperature sensing unit, and is transmitted to and stored in the control module 1400. Furthermore, the temperature of the refrigerant is a temperature of the sprayed refrigerant, and may be a temperature measured by the third temperature sensing unit, and is transmitted to and stored in the control module 1400.
[0272] The predetermined set temperature may be a desired temperature of the skin surface temperature or a desired temperature of the refrigerant preset in the above-described preset temperature. Specifically, the predetermined set temperature may be temperature information input by the user to the input unit. Alternatively, the set temperature may be a temperature set by the control module 1400 based on treatment information input by the user to the input unit.
[0273] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, in S1200, a characteristic of the refrigerant, such as a temperature or a spray amount of the refrigerant, may be determined in consideration of the measured temperature and a predetermined set temperature. Specifically, the temperature and / or the spray amount of the refrigerant may be determined by the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 or the flow control unit 1210 controlled by the control module 1400.
[0274] According to the above embodiment, the temperature of the refrigerant may be controlled by the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 which is controlled by the control module 1400 .
[0275] For example, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the "temperature of the refrigerant" to be sprayed by the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 by controlling the heat energy applied to the refrigerant so that the skin surface temperature is near a predetermined set temperature of the skin surface. The temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed may be controlled, and ultimately the skin surface temperature may be controlled to be near a predetermined set temperature. In this case, the temperature of the refrigerant immediately after spraying from the spray unit 1230 may be increased by the air existing between the spray unit 1230 and the target area, i.e., the outside air, so that the temperature of the refrigerant immediately after spraying from the spray unit 1230 may be controlled by the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to be lower than the temperature of the target area. In this case, the difference between the temperature of the refrigerant immediately after spraying from the spray unit 1230 and the temperature of the target area may change depending on the temperature of the outside air, and as the temperature of the outside air increases, the difference between the temperature of the refrigerant immediately after spraying from the spray unit 1230 and the temperature of the target area may increase. As a specific example, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the heat energy added to the refrigerant such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is −20° C. or lower so that the skin surface temperature is in the vicinity of a temperature range of −20° C. or higher to 10° C. or lower. Alternatively, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the heat energy added to the refrigerant such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is 10° C. or lower so that the skin surface temperature is in the vicinity of a temperature range of −20° C. or higher to 10° C. or lower. The refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may preferably control the heat energy added to the refrigerant such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is −60° C. or higher to −20° C. or lower so that the skin surface temperature is in the vicinity of a temperature range of −20° C. or higher to 10° C. or lower.
[0276] Alternatively, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is −20° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of −20° C. or higher to −10° C. or lower. Alternatively, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is −10° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of −20° C. or higher to −10° C. or lower. The thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is preferably −60° C. or higher to −30° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of −20° C. or higher to −10° C. or lower.
[0277] Alternatively, the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled so that the skin surface temperature is near a temperature range of -10°C or above to 0°C or below, and the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is -10°C or below. Alternatively, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is 0° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of −10° C. or higher to −10° C. or lower. The thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may preferably be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is −60° C. or higher to −25° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of −10° C. or higher to 0° C. or lower.
[0278] Alternatively, the thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled so that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is at or below 0°C, such that the skin surface temperature is near a temperature range of 0°C or above to 10°C or below. Alternatively, the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is 10° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of 0° C. or higher to 10° C. or lower. The thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may preferably be controlled such that the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant (e.g., carbon dioxide) is -55° C. or higher to -25° C. or lower, such that the skin surface temperature is near the temperature range of 0° C. or higher to 10° C. or lower.
[0279] When the refrigerant is sprayed at a spray distance (the distance between the spray unit and the skin surface) of about 25 mm to control the skin surface temperature to a specific temperature, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant described above may be the temperature of the refrigerant measured after placing a thermocouple at a distance of about 3 mm from the spray unit.
[0280] However, this is just one example, and the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may be controlled so that the skin surface temperature is near a particular temperature range, and the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may vary depending on the measurement protocol (e.g., spray distance and temperature measurement location of the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant, etc.).
[0281] According to the above embodiment, the amount of coolant sprayed may be controlled by the flow control unit 1210 controlled by the control module 1400 .
[0282] For example, to control the skin surface temperature to be near a predetermined set temperature of the skin surface, the control module 1400 may control the duration of the open / close time or the open / close cycle of the flow control unit 1210, and may control the amount of refrigerant to be sprayed. By controlling the amount of refrigerant to be sprayed, the degree of cooling energy applied to the skin surface may be controlled. Furthermore, in this way, the skin surface temperature may ultimately be controlled to be near a predetermined temperature.
[0283] According to another embodiment, the amount of coolant sprayed may be controlled by the coolant condition control unit 1220 .
[0284] For example, when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 increases the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant, i.e., when increasing the temperature of the refrigerant, the freedom of the refrigerant to flow through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 increases, so the static pressure of the refrigerant increases, resulting in a decrease in the amount of refrigerant. Conversely, when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 decreases the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant, the static pressure decreases, resulting in an increase in the amount of refrigerant. By controlling the amount of refrigerant to be sprayed, the degree of cooling energy applied to the skin surface can be controlled. Furthermore, finally, the skin surface temperature can be controlled to be near a predetermined set temperature.
[0285] Control of the thermal energy applied to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be performed via a thermoelectric element, such as a Peltier element, and the control module 1400 may control whether to provide power to the thermoelectric element and / or the amount of current applied to the thermoelectric element, such that the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 can control the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant. However, this is by way of example only, and through the various operations of the control module 1400 and the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 described above, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the degree of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant to control the temperature or amount of the refrigerant.
[0286] According to the above embodiment, in S1200, a characteristic of the refrigerant may be controlled taking into account the predetermined set point temperature and the measured temperature. The characteristic of the refrigerant may include the temperature, the amount, the pressure, or the velocity of the refrigerant, or any suitable combination thereof.
[0287] For example, the properties of the refrigerant may be controlled based on the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature. Specifically, the properties of the refrigerant may be controlled based on whether the measured skin surface temperature is higher or lower than the preset skin surface temperature. When the preset skin surface temperature is lower than the measured actual skin surface temperature, the control module 1400 may control the flow control unit 1210 and / or the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to decrease the actual skin surface temperature. For example, the control module 1400 may increase the amount of refrigerant by increasing the duration of the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210, and may increase the amount of energy applied to the skin surface. As another example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant to decrease by decreasing the current applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. On the other hand, when the preset skin surface temperature is higher than the measured actual skin surface temperature, the control module 1400 may control the flow control unit 1210 and / or the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 to increase the actual skin surface temperature. For example, the control module 1400 may decrease the amount of refrigerant by decreasing the duration of the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210, decreasing the amount of cooling energy applied to the skin surface. As another example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the refrigerant to increase by increasing the current applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220.
[0288] For example, the properties of the coolant may be controlled based on the difference between the predetermined temperature of the "coolant" and the measured actual temperature of the "coolant". Specifically, the properties of the coolant may be controlled based on whether the measured temperature of the coolant is higher than the predetermined temperature of the coolant. When the predetermined temperature of the coolant is lower than the measured actual temperature of the coolant, the control module 1400 may control the coolant condition control unit 1220 to decrease the actual temperature of the coolant. For example, the control module 1400 may control the coolant condition control unit 1220 to decrease the temperature of the coolant by decreasing the current applied to the coolant condition control unit 1220. On the other hand, when the predetermined temperature of the coolant is higher than the measured actual temperature of the coolant, the control module 1400 may control the coolant condition control unit 1220 to increase the actual temperature of the coolant to be sprayed. For example, the control module 1400 may control the coolant condition control unit 1220 to increase the temperature of the coolant by increasing the current applied to the coolant condition control unit 1220.
[0289] According to the above embodiment, in S1200, the characteristics of the refrigerant, such as the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant, may be controlled depending on the "degree of difference" between the predetermined temperature and the measured actual temperature.
[0290] For example, there may be subtle differences in the control of the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant between a case where the difference between a predetermined skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is a first temperature difference and a case where the difference between the predetermined skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is a second temperature difference that is "larger" than the first temperature difference.
[0291] For example, when the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is a first temperature difference, it may mean that the skin surface temperature is closer to the preset skin surface temperature than when the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is a second temperature difference. Therefore, the "amount of change" between the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant and the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed by the control may be smaller in the case of the first temperature difference than in the case of the second temperature difference. Similarly, the "amount of change" between the amount of the sprayed refrigerant and the amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed by the control may be smaller in the case of the first temperature difference than in the case of the second temperature difference.
[0292] On the other hand, it may also be intended that in the case where the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is the second temperature difference, the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is larger than in the case where the difference between the preset skin surface temperature and the measured actual skin surface temperature is the first temperature difference. Therefore, the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant may be required to be corrected more than in the case of the first temperature difference. In other words, the "change amount" between the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed and the temperature of the refrigerant to be sprayed by the control may be larger in the case of the second temperature difference than in the case of the first temperature difference. For this reason, the "change amount" between the current previously applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and the current to be applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 by the control may be larger in the case of the second temperature difference than in the case of the first temperature difference. Similarly, the "change amount" between the amount of the refrigerant sprayed and the amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed by the control may be larger in the case of the second temperature difference than in the case of the first temperature difference. For this reason, the "change amount" between the existing open time of the flow control unit 1210 and the to-be-opened open time of the flow control unit 1210 due to the control may be larger in the case of the second temperature difference than in the case of the first temperature difference. The above example has been described based on a predetermined skin surface temperature and a measured actual skin surface temperature, but may be similarly applied to a predetermined temperature of the refrigerant and a measured actual temperature of the refrigerant.
[0293] According to the above embodiment, in S1200, the properties of the refrigerant, such as the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant, may be controlled preferably by a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control method by taking into account a predetermined temperature and a measured actual temperature.
[0294] According to the above embodiment, in S1200, the characteristics of the refrigerant, such as the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant, may be controlled by considering the external temperature. For example, when the preset skin surface temperature is constant, the refrigerant condition control unit may control the heat energy added to the refrigerant to vary with the external temperature. As a specific example, when the preset skin surface temperature is constant and the external temperature is in a temperature range from 10°C or higher to 25°C or lower, generally, as the external temperature increases, the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed to achieve the preset skin surface temperature may decrease. Thus, as the external temperature increases, the refrigerant condition control unit may control the heat energy added to the refrigerant to decrease.
[0295] According to the above embodiment, in S1200, by considering the "type" of refrigerant as well as the measured temperature and the predetermined set point temperature, the control module 1400 may control the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant. Specifically, the method of controlling the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant may vary depending on the intrinsic physical properties of the refrigerant under the ambient pressure of the refrigerant.
[0296] For example, when carbon dioxide (CO2) is used as the refrigerant, the carbon dioxide refrigerant may be sprayed from the spray unit 1230 and then applied to the skin surface at a relatively lower temperature than the HFC-based refrigerant under ambient pressure. For example, when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is a thermoelectric element (e.g., a Peltier element, etc.), when the carbon dioxide refrigerant is sprayed by turning off the power of the thermoelectric element, the refrigerant may be sprayed and applied to the skin surface at a temperature of about -40°C to -70°C. Specifically, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may be affected by the external temperature, and when the temperature of the external air is at a temperature of 15°C to 25°C, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant that is carbon dioxide with the power of the thermoelectric element turned off may be about -70°C or higher to -50°C or lower. Furthermore, when the temperature of the external air is at a temperature of 25°C to 35°C or lower, the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant that is carbon dioxide with the power of the thermoelectric element turned off may be about -40°C or higher to -60°C or lower. In this case, the measured temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may be the temperature measured after placing a thermocouple at a distance of about 3 mm from the spray unit. Thus, when carbon dioxide is used as the refrigerant, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may control the temperature of the refrigerant by controlling only the degree to which the refrigerant is heated. In other words, since the temperature of the refrigerant is substantially low even when there is no thermal energy added to the refrigerant by the carbon dioxide refrigerant (i.e., no heating), the temperature of the sprayed refrigerant may be preferably controlled by controlling the amount of thermal energy added to the refrigerant from the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 via "heating".
[0297] For example, when an HFC-based substance is used as the refrigerant, the refrigerant may be sprayed at a relatively higher temperature (e.g., −20° C.) than the carbon dioxide refrigerant when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is turned off. This may be a relatively high temperature to control the skin surface temperature over a wide range. In particular, it may be difficult to adjust the skin surface temperature to about −10° C. or lower by using an HFC-based refrigerant without additional cooling. Therefore, when an HFC-based substance is used as the refrigerant, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may operate to heat and cool the refrigerant. In particular, when the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 is a thermoelectric element (e.g., a Peltier element), when an electric current is applied to the thermoelectric element in a first direction, heat absorption may occur at a first surface of the thermoelectric element and heat generation may occur at a second surface thereof. Furthermore, when an electric current is applied to the thermoelectric element in a second direction, heat may occur at a first surface of the thermoelectric element and heat absorption may occur at a second surface thereof. In this case, the flow path through which the coolant flows may be configured to contact at least one of the first surface and the second surface, and the control module 1400 may be configured to control the direction of the current applied to the thermoelectric element to heat or cool the coolant as appropriate.
[0298] As described above, the control module 1400 mainly determines the temperature or the amount of spray of the coolant in consideration of the temperature measured in S1200 and the predetermined set temperature.
[0299] However, this is only one example, and according to the above embodiment, the control module 1400 may be configured to determine whether the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to a "condition" of a predetermined set temperature. In this case, the "condition" of the predetermined set temperature may be a temperature range in which an acceptable "error range" is set for the predetermined set temperature.
[0300] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to a predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed depending on the temperature or amount of refrigerant previously sprayed.
[0301] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) does not correspond to the predefined set temperature conditions, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature or the amount of refrigerant via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the amount of refrigerant via the flow rate control unit 1210.
[0302] Referring back to FIG. 5, a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include spraying a coolant in S1300.
[0303] In this case, in the step of spraying the coolant in S1300, the coolant may be sprayed according to the temperature or spray amount of the coolant determined in S1200.
[0304] Although FIG. 5 shows that the laser treatment device 100 stops operating when the refrigerant is sprayed, this is only one example, and when the refrigerant is sprayed, step S1100 of measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant may be performed again, and thus the series of steps may be performed repeatedly.
[0305] According to the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the temperature or amount of the coolant to be sprayed can be determined by considering the measured skin surface temperature information and / or information about the coolant temperature after measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the coolant temperature, and thus the skin surface temperature can be controlled to be near a predetermined set temperature. Through this temperature feedback, the skin surface temperature, which is the most direct parameter of skin damage, can be stably maintained near the set temperature. In particular, skin damage can be minimized by setting the set temperature lower than the skin damage temperature.
[0306] Although a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure has been described above, the above description may equally apply to a laser treatment method using the laser treatment device 100 according to another embodiment herein described later.
[0307] A laser treatment method using the laser treatment device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include the steps of measuring the temperature; determining the temperature or amount of the coolant; spraying the coolant; and emitting the laser.
[0308] The step of emitting a laser may include emitting a laser toward the target area to be treated. The laser may be generated in the laser generating unit 1110 of the laser module 1100 and emitted in the laser emitting unit 1120.
[0309] Specifically, the laser module 1100 is electrically connected to the control module 1400 and receives a laser emission signal from the control module 1400 to emit a laser.
[0310] In this case, the control module 1400 may receive a laser emission input by a user and may send a laser emission signal for the laser module 1100, and thus the laser emission of the laser module 1100 may be performed. Alternatively, the conditions for laser emission may be preset in the control module 1400. In this case, the laser module 1100 may be controlled by the control module 1400 to emit the laser when the preset conditions are met. For example, when the skin surface temperature reaches a certain temperature by the cooling system, the laser module 1100 may be controlled by the control module 1400 to emit the laser. In this case, the certain temperature may be preset by considering the skin damage temperature, the temperature at which frost forms on the skin surface, and the temperature at which interfering substances in the laser path are minimized. This will be described in detail later with reference to FIG. 17 to FIG. 22.
[0311] A laser treatment method by operating the laser treatment device 100 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include a coolant spray section and a laser emission section.
[0312] In this case, referring to Fig. 4, the refrigerant spray section may include a pre-cooling section P1, a middle cooling section P2, and a post-cooling section P3. The refrigerant spray section may refer to a section where cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by spraying refrigerant. However, there may be a difference between the time of spraying refrigerant and the time when cooling energy is applied to the skin surface, but this time difference may be very small, and in this case, the refrigerant spray section and the section where cooling energy is applied to the skin surface may be used to have substantially the same meaning.
[0313] The pre-cooling section P1 may refer to a section in which cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by a refrigerant before the start of the laser radiation section. However, although it has been described that cooling energy is applied to the skin surface "before" the start of the laser radiation section, the start of the laser radiation may be included in the pre-cooling section P1 when cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by a refrigerant at the start of the laser radiation. The pre-cooling section P1 may be intended to "pre-lower" the skin surface temperature to prevent the skin surface from reaching a skin-damaging temperature due to an increase in the skin surface temperature caused by the accumulation of thermal energy due to the laser radiation in the laser radiation section. Alternatively, the pre-cooling section P1 can be performed to anesthetize the skin 10 before the laser radiation.
[0314] The intermediate cooling section P2 may refer to a section in which cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by a refrigerant in the laser emission section. The intermediate cooling section P2 may also be used as a term such as an intermediate cooling section, a real-time cooling section, and a cooling section during laser emission. At least a part of the intermediate cooling section P2 and at least a part of the laser emission section may overlap on the time axis. That is, the cooling of the intermediate cooling section P2 and the laser emission of the laser emission section may be performed at least partially simultaneously.
[0315] At least a portion of the intermediate cooling section P2 may overlap the laser radiation section on the time axis and may be a section where the skin surface temperature may be significantly increased by the laser radiation. In this case, the primary purpose of the intermediate cooling may be to cool the skin surface so that the skin surface temperature is controlled below the skin damage temperature.
[0316] The post-cooling section P3 may refer to a section in which cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by the refrigerant after the stop time of the laser radiation section. However, when cooling energy is applied "after" the stop time of the laser radiation section, but cooling energy is applied to the skin surface by the refrigerant at the stop time of the laser radiation, the stop time of the laser radiation may also be included in the post-cooling section P3.
[0317] The post-cooling section P3 is a section after the laser radiation has stopped and may be intended to reduce the skin surface temperature and / or the target temperature to normal temperature or to relieve pain after the laser procedure.
[0318] Hereinafter, an embodiment of a method for driving the laser treatment device in the pre-cooling section P1, the intermediate cooling section P2, and the post-cooling section P3 will be described in detail.
[0319] The laser treatment method by the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may be performed through pre-cooling, intermediate cooling, and post-cooling. In other words, the laser treatment method by the laser treatment device 100 according to the embodiment of the present disclosure may include a pre-cooling section P1, an intermediate cooling section P2, and a post-cooling section P3.
[0320] The following description will be given with reference to FIG. 4 and FIG. FIG. 6 is a flow chart S2000 illustrating a pre-cooling and laser irradiation method according to an embodiment of the laser treatment method disclosed herein.
[0321] Pre-cooling may include measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant in S2100; determining the temperature of the refrigerant or the amount sprayed in S2200; spraying the refrigerant in S2300; and determining whether a laser radiation event has occurred in S2400.
[0322] The above described S1100 may equally apply to measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the refrigerant temperature in S2100. When focusing on the features of the pre-cooling section P1, the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed before the start of the laser emission section and the skin surface temperature before the start of the laser emission section may be measured in S2100.
[0323] 6, the refrigerant temperature and the skin surface temperature are shown to be measured in S2100, but only the skin surface temperature may be measured, excluding the refrigerant temperature, and may be taken into consideration in determining the refrigerant temperature or spray amount in S2200 described later. In other words, the measurement of the refrigerant temperature may be omitted in S2100 of FIG. 6.
[0324] S1200 may equally apply to determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant in S2200. Therefore, hereinafter, the characteristics of pre-cooling section P1 will be mainly described.
[0325] Referring back to FIG. 6, a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include determining a temperature or spray amount of refrigerant in S2200 by taking into account the temperature measured in S2100 and a first predetermined set temperature.
[0326] The first set temperature Ts1 may be a desired temperature intended to control the skin surface temperature in the pre-cooling section. Alternatively, the first set temperature Ts1 may be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the coolant sprayed in the pre-cooling section. Alternatively, the first set temperature Ts1 may be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the target on which the treatment is performed by the laser in the pre-cooling section.
[0327] In one embodiment, the first set temperature Ts1 may be determined by considering the degree of skin surface temperature rise in the laser emitting section, the skin damage temperature, and whether laser interference substances are generated in the laser emitting section. Furthermore, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set by a user, or may be set so that a user selects a value set by the control module 1400 by using the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0328] For example, in the laser emission section, the light energy of the laser may be converted into thermal energy in the target, and the converted thermal energy may be accumulated in the target, and thus the temperature of the skin including the target and the skin surface may rise. In this case, if the skin surface temperature increases higher than the skin damage temperature in the laser emission section, the skin surface may be damaged. Therefore, even if the skin surface temperature increases in the laser emission section, in order to control the skin surface temperature to rise only below the skin damage temperature, the skin surface temperature may be lowered before the laser emission in the pre-cooling section P1. For this purpose, in the pre-cooling section P1, the skin surface temperature may be set as a first set temperature Ts1 by considering the degree of temperature increase by the laser emission and the skin damage temperature. In this case, the skin damage temperature may vary depending on the treatment type and skin type, but generally, when the skin temperature reaches a temperature within the range of 40°C to 60°C, the skin may be damaged by heat. According to an exemplary embodiment, when the skin temperature reaches a temperature within the range of 50°C to 60°C, the skin may be damaged by heat. However, damage to the skin is not limited thereto, and a person skilled in the art may set the first set temperature Ts1 taking into consideration the degree of accumulation of heat energy that may cause skin damage. For example, even if the skin temperature is continuously maintained at 40° C. or lower, skin damage may occur, and in this case, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set taking into consideration the amount of time the skin is exposed to heat and / or the degree of heat accumulation.
[0329] As another example, in order to minimize skin damage in the laser radiation section, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set by considering the location of the treatment target, the type of skin to be treated, the type of laser, and the intensity of the laser output, etc. For example, if the location of the treatment target is near the skin surface, the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature due to the laser radiation is likely to be high, and therefore the first set temperature Ts1 of the pre-cooling section P1 may be set taking this into consideration. Furthermore, as the intensity of the output of the laser used increases, the amount of thermal energy accumulated in the target may increase, and therefore the first set temperature Ts1 of the pre-cooling section P1 may be set by considering the intensity of the output of the laser according to the type of laser used.
[0330] As another example, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set in consideration of whether a laser interference substance is generated in the laser emission section. For example, in the laser emission section after the pre-cooling section P1, if a laser interference substance such as frost, ice, dry ice, and steam remains in the laser emission path or on the skin surface, the laser may be scattered. Therefore, in the pre-cooling section P1, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set so that no laser interference substance remains in the laser emission section.
[0331] In one embodiment, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set by considering the treatment area and the lesion to be treated. For example, during laser treatment for vascular lesion, if pre-cooling of the skin is performed to a temperature corresponding to the vasoconstriction temperature condition, the blood vessels may contract and the treatment target may become unrecognizable. Therefore, during pre-cooling of laser treatment for vascular lesion, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set by considering the vasoconstriction temperature condition of the vascular lesion. The laser treatment method of the present disclosure for vascular lesion will be described in detail later with reference to FIG. 23 and FIG. 24.
[0332] In the above embodiment, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set differently in the pre-cooling section P1 as well.
[0333] For example, as described above, in order to minimize the possibility of skin damage due to temperature rise due to laser radiation in the laser radiation section in the pre-cooling section P1, it may be required to set the first set temperature Ts1 relatively low, and in order to prevent laser-interfering substances from remaining on the skin surface in the laser radiation section, it may be required to set the first set temperature Ts1 relatively high.
[0334] In this case, in the rear section of the pre-cooling section P1 and the section adjacent to the start of the laser emission section, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set so that no laser interference material remains on the skin surface. When there is no laser interference material on the skin surface from the time when the laser emission section starts, laser scattering can be sufficiently prevented, so the first set temperature Ts1 may be set to a temperature where no laser interference material remains only in the section immediately before the laser emission so that laser scattering can be prevented.
[0335] Furthermore, in sections other than the rear section of the pre-cooling section P1, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set relatively low, and therefore, in the laser emission section, the possibility of skin damage due to laser emission may be minimized.
[0336] In other words, in the sections other than the rear section of the pre-cooling section P1 (for example, the first half section of the pre-cooling section P1), the first set temperature Ts1 may be set as low as possible to minimize the possibility of skin damage in the laser emission section, and in the rear section of the pre-cooling section P1, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set to a temperature at which no laser interference material remains on the skin surface so that laser scattering can be minimized in the laser emission section. Therefore, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set differently in the pre-cooling section P1 as well.
[0337] In the embodiment, the first set temperature Ts1 may be a temperature in a specific range. Specifically, the first set temperature Ts1 may be a temperature range including an allowable "error range" for the first set temperature Ts1.
[0338] In this case, the error range of the first set temperature Ts1 may also be set differently in the pre-cooling section P1. For example, in the section immediately preceding the laser emission section included in the pre-cooling section P1, the skin surface temperature may be controlled to a temperature at which laser interference substances such as frost are not formed on the skin surface. In this case, the error range may be preferably set narrow in order to control the skin surface temperature to a temperature at which laser interference substances are not formed on the skin surface. In other words, in the section immediately preceding the laser emission section included in the pre-cooling section P1, the error range may be set relatively narrow in order to accurately control the skin surface temperature so that frost is not formed on the skin surface. On the other hand, in the initial section of the pre-cooling section P1 separated in time from the laser emission section, cooling may be performed to reduce the skin surface temperature as much as possible so that the possibility of skin damage in the laser emission section is reduced. In this case, in the initial section of the pre-cooling section P1, the skin surface temperature is allowed to be controlled with a relatively low accuracy, and therefore the error range may be preset relatively wide.
[0339] In the above, the first set temperature Ts1 has been described as being set based on the skin surface temperature, but this is not limited thereto, and it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that a specific temperature may be preset based on the temperature of the refrigerant, which is a direct variable of the skin surface temperature.
[0340] The laser treatment method may include a step S2200 of determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S2100. Specifically, the control module 1400 may control the coolant condition control unit 1220 by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S2100, and may determine the temperature and / or the spray amount of the coolant in S2200. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of the coolant supplied to the spray unit 1230 by controlling the open / close cycle, the duration of the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210, and may determine the spray amount of the coolant in S2200.
[0341] In the step of spraying the coolant in S2300, the coolant may be sprayed according to the temperature or spray amount of the coolant determined in S2200.
[0342] When the coolant is sprayed in S2300, the step of determining whether a laser firing event has occurred may begin in S2400.
[0343] The laser firing event may be generated by inputting a laser firing signal by a user. Alternatively, the laser firing event may occur a predetermined time after pre-cooling has begun. Alternatively, the laser firing event may occur when the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant is substantially the same as a first set temperature Ts1 set to avoid leaving frost on the skin surface.
[0344] In the step of determining whether a laser emission event occurs in S2400, it can be determined whether the pre-cooling section P1 is stopped according to whether a laser emission event occurs. Specifically, in S2400, the control module 1400 can be configured to determine whether a laser emission event occurs when the refrigerant is sprayed in S2300. When a laser emission event does not occur, the control module 1400 can control the laser treatment device 100 to perform the measurement of the skin surface temperature and the refrigerant temperature in S2100, so that a series of steps can be performed again.
[0345] On the other hand, when a laser firing event occurs, the control module 1400 may control the laser treatment device 100 such that pre-cooling is stopped and intermediate cooling C1 is performed.
[0346] However, although the control module 1400 is described herein as "determining" whether a laser emission event has occurred, the present invention is not limited thereto, and when a laser emission event occurs, a laser emission signal may be sent to the control module 1400, and the control module 1400 may control the laser treatment device 100 such that intermediate cooling C1 is performed without the control module 1400 determining whether a laser emission event has occurred.
[0347]
[0348] As described above, the control module 1400 has mainly been described as "determining" the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant after "considering" the temperature measured in S2200 and the first predetermined set temperature Ts1. However, this is only one example, and according to the above embodiment, the control module 1400 may be configured to "determine" whether the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to the first predetermined set temperature condition. In this case, the first predetermined set temperature condition may be a temperature range in which an acceptable "error range" is set for the first predetermined set temperature. Alternatively, the first set temperature condition may be any suitable condition, including a condition in which the skin surface temperature is maintained at a specific temperature value for a specific period of time.
[0349] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., actual temperature of the skin surface, actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to a first predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed such that the refrigerant is sprayed at the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed.
[0350] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) does not correspond to the first predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may control the temperature or the amount of the refrigerant via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of the refrigerant via the flow rate control unit 1210.
[0351] The following description will be given with reference to FIG. 4 and FIG. FIG. 7 is a flow chart S3000 illustrating an intermediate cooling and laser irradiation method according to an embodiment of the laser treatment method disclosed herein.
[0352] Intermediate cooling may include emitting a laser at S3010; measuring skin surface temperature and / or refrigerant temperature at S3100; determining the temperature or amount of refrigerant at S3200; spraying the refrigerant at S3300; and determining whether a laser emission stop event has occurred at S3400.
[0353] The emission of the laser in S3010 may be performed such that thermal energy is applied to the target by the laser output from the laser module 1100 such that the temperature of the treatment target is at or above a desired temperature of the target. The desired temperature of the target may be intended to be a temperature capable of causing thermal ablation in the target.
[0354] The desired temperature of the target may vary depending on the type of treatment and / or the type of target tissue, but may generally be within about 40° C. to 60° C. The desired temperature of the target may preferably be within about 50° C. to 60° C.
[0355] However, the thermal energy deposited on the target by the laser may be conducted or transferred to the skin surface, thus increasing the skin surface temperature. In this case, when the skin surface temperature is at or above the skin damage temperature, the side effect of skin damage may occur, and thus, through measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant in S3100; controlling the temperature or amount of the refrigerant in S3200 described later; and spraying the refrigerant in S3300, the side effect of skin damage caused by the laser radiation may be minimized.
[0356] S1100 described above may be similarly applied to the measurement of the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant in S3100. When mainly describing the characteristics of the intermediate cooling section P2, the temperature of the coolant sprayed in the laser emitting section may be measured in S3100, and the skin surface temperature of the laser emitting section may be measured. Although the coolant temperature and the skin surface temperature are all shown to be measured in S3100 according to FIG. 7, only the skin surface temperature, excluding the coolant temperature, may be measured and taken into consideration when determining the coolant temperature or the spray amount in S3200 described later. In other words, the measurement of the coolant temperature may be omitted in S3100 of FIG. 7.
[0357] The above-described S1200 may be similarly applied to the step S3200 of determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant. Therefore, hereinafter, the characteristics of the intermediate cooling section P2 will be mainly described.
[0358] Referring back to FIG. 7, a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include determining the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant in S3200 by taking into account the temperature measured in S3100 and a predetermined second set temperature Ts2.
[0359] The second set temperature Ts2 may be a desired temperature intended to control the skin surface temperature in the intermediate cooling section P2. Alternatively, the second set temperature Ts2 may be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the coolant sprayed in the intermediate cooling section P2. Alternatively, the second set temperature Ts2 may be a desired temperature intended to control the desired temperature of the target on which the treatment is performed by the laser in the intermediate cooling section P2.
[0360] In one embodiment, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature in the laser emitting section, the temperature of the target in the laser emitting section and the desired temperature of the target, the skin damage temperature, and whether the laser interference substance in the laser emitting section is generated. Furthermore, the second set temperature Ts2 may be directly set by the user or selected by the user to select the value set by the control module 1400 using the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0361] For example, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the degree of increase of the skin surface temperature of the laser emitting section. The degree of increase of the skin surface temperature may vary depending on the type of laser, the treatment area, and the position of the treatment area, which are related to the power and wavelength. Specifically, when the power of the laser increases, the degree of increase of the skin surface temperature may increase, and the type of target and the position where the laser is absorbed may vary depending on the wavelength of the laser, and therefore the degree of increase of the skin surface temperature may vary depending on the type of laser, which is related to the laser power and wavelength. Furthermore, if the treatment area is located near the skin surface, the degree of increase of the skin surface temperature may increase. Therefore, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the above variables.
[0362] For example, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the "temperature of the target" and the "desired temperature of the target" in the laser emission section. Specifically, in at least a portion of the laser emission section, for thermal ablation of the treatment area (target), it is required that thermal energy from the laser is applied to the treatment area such that the temperature of the treatment area is at or above the desired temperature of the target. Therefore, the second set temperature Ts2 of the skin surface temperature may be set such that the temperature of the target can sufficiently reach the desired temperature of the target.
[0363] For example, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the skin damage temperature. Specifically, in the laser emission section, the skin surface temperature may also rise due to the conduction and transfer of the thermal energy applied to the target by the laser. In this case, when the skin surface temperature is higher than the skin damage temperature, the side effect of skin damage may occur. Therefore, in order to minimize the side effect of skin damage, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set to a temperature that is considered so that the skin surface temperature does not reach the skin damage temperature.
[0364] For example, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering whether or not a laser interference substance (e.g., a solid phase substance) is generated "in the laser path" during laser output. Specifically, when the refrigerant is sprayed from the cooling module 1200, the refrigerant expands adiabatically due to the Joule-Thomson effect, and the temperature of the refrigerant may be significantly reduced. In this case, a solid phase substance may also be generated in the refrigerant, and the moisture in the surrounding atmosphere may instantly change into a solid phase such as ice. When a solid phase substance exists in the laser path, the substance may scatter the laser and reduce the efficiency of the laser treatment. Therefore, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set as a temperature corresponding to the temperature of the refrigerant considered to minimize the ratio of the solid phase in the laser path.
[0365] For example, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering whether or not a laser interference substance is generated "on the skin surface." Specifically, when the skin surface temperature is controlled to 0° C. or lower, a laser interference substance such as frost may be generated on the skin surface, and this laser interference substance may scatter the laser and hinder efficient laser treatment. Therefore, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering a skin surface temperature at which no laser interference substance is generated. The second set temperature Ts2 may be preferably set as a temperature higher than 0° C. at which no laser interference substance such as frost is generated.
[0366] In one embodiment, the second set temperature Ts2 may also be set differently in the intermediate cooling section P2. For example, in the beginning section of the intermediate cooling section P2, the total amount of heat energy applied by the laser may be relatively small, and therefore, in the beginning section of the intermediate cooling section P2, whether or not a laser interference substance is generated in the laser path and / or on the skin surface, rather than the skin damage temperature, may be an important factor to be considered when presetting the second set temperature Ts2. On the other hand, in the rear section of the intermediate cooling section P2, the total amount of heat energy applied by the laser may be relatively large, and therefore, the possibility of skin damage may be relatively high. Therefore, in the rear section of the intermediate cooling section P2, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set by considering the skin damage temperature to be relatively important. Therefore, in the intermediate cooling section P2, the second set temperature Ts2 may also be suitably set differently depending on the situation.
[0367] In one embodiment, the second set temperature Ts2 may be a temperature in a certain range. Specifically, the second set temperature Ts2 may be a temperature range that includes an allowable "error range" for the second set temperature Ts2. The error range of the second set temperature Ts2 may also be set differently in the laser emission section. For example, the amount of heat accumulation due to laser treatment is greater in the rear section of the laser emission section than in the beginning section of the laser emission section, and the possibility of skin damage is relatively high, so the error range of the rear section of the laser emission section may be preset to be narrower than the error range of the rear section of the laser emission section, so that the skin surface temperature is accurately controlled.
[0368] In the above, the second set temperature Ts2 has been described as being set based on the skin surface temperature, but this is not limited thereto, and it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that a specific temperature can be preset based on the temperature of the refrigerant, which is a direct variable of the skin surface temperature.
[0369]
[0370] 7, the laser treatment method may include a step S3200 of determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S3100. Specifically, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature and / or spray amount of the coolant in S3200 by controlling the coolant condition control unit 1220 by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S3100. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may determine the spray amount of the coolant in S3200 by controlling the amount of the coolant supplied to the spray unit 1230 by the open / close cycle and the period of the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210.
[0371] In the step of spraying the coolant in S3300, the coolant may be sprayed according to the temperature or spray amount of the coolant determined in S3200.
[0372] When the coolant has been sprayed in S3300, a step of determining whether a laser emission stop event has occurred may be performed in S3400.
[0373] The laser emission stop event may occur when the user stops inputting the laser emission signal, and may occur after a predetermined time has elapsed after intermediate cooling has begun. Alternatively, the laser emission stop event may occur when the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant is substantially equal to a second predetermined set temperature. Alternatively, the laser emission stop event may occur after a predetermined time has elapsed relative to the time for the temperature of the target to reach the desired target temperature. However, the laser emission stop event is not so limited and may occur in any suitable manner.
[0374] In the step S3400 of determining whether a laser radiation stop event occurs, the intermediate cooling section P2 is stopped or not according to whether a laser radiation stop event occurs. Specifically, in S3400, when the coolant is sprayed in S3300, the control module 1400 may determine whether a laser radiation stop event occurs or not.
[0375] When a laser radiation stop event has not occurred, the control module 1400 may control the laser treatment device 100 to perform measurements of the skin surface temperature and the refrigerant temperature in S3100 so that the sequence of steps can be executed again.
[0376] On the other hand, when a laser radiation stop event occurs, the control module 1400 may stop the intermediate cooling and control the laser treatment device 100 to perform the post-cooling C2.
[0377] However, although the control module 1400 has been described here as "determining" whether or not a laser emission stop event has occurred, this is not limited thereto, and when a laser emission stop event has occurred, a laser stop signal may be sent to the control module 1400, and the laser treatment device 100 may be controlled to perform post-cooling C2 even if the control module 1400 does not determine whether or not a laser emission stop event has occurred.
[0378]
[0379] As described above, the control module 1400 mainly determines the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant by considering the temperature measured in S3200 and the second predetermined set temperature Ts2. However, this is only one example, and according to the above embodiment, the control module 1400 may be configured to "determine" whether the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to the second predetermined set temperature condition. In this case, the "condition" of the second predetermined set temperature may be a temperature range in which an allowable "error range" for the second predetermined set temperature is preset. Alternatively, the second set temperature condition may be any suitable condition including a condition in which the skin surface temperature is maintained at a specific temperature value for a specific period of time.
[0380] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., actual temperature of the skin surface, actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to a second predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed such that the refrigerant is sprayed at the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed.
[0381] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) does not correspond to the second predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature or the amount of the refrigerant via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of the refrigerant via the flow rate control unit 1210.
[0382]
[0383] The following description will be given with reference to Figures 4 and 8. Figure 8 is a flow chart S4000 showing the post-cooling and laser irradiation method of the laser treatment method disclosed in this specification according to the above embodiment.
[0384] Post-cooling may include measuring the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the refrigerant in S4100; determining the temperature or amount of the refrigerant in S4200; spraying the refrigerant in S4300; and determining whether a preset period of time has elapsed after the laser radiation has stopped in S4400.
[0385] The above-described S1100 may be similarly applied to the step S4100 of measuring the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant. When mainly describing the characteristics of the post-cooling section P3, in S4100, the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed after the "off" time of the laser emission section may be measured, and the skin surface temperature after the stop time of the laser emission section may be measured. That is, in S4100, the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed after the laser emission is stopped and / or the skin surface temperature may be measured. Although the temperature of the refrigerant and the skin surface temperature are all shown to be measured in S4100 according to FIG. 8, only the skin surface temperature, excluding the temperature of the refrigerant, may be measured and may be taken into account when determining the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant in S4200 described later. In other words, the measurement of the refrigerant temperature may be omitted in S4100 of FIG. 8.
[0386] The above-described S1200 may be similarly applied to the step S4200 of determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant. Therefore, hereinafter, the characteristics of the post-cooling section P3 will be mainly described.
[0387] Referring back to FIG. 8, a laser treatment method according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may include determining the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant in S4200 by taking into account the measured temperature measured in S4100 and a predetermined third set temperature Ts3.
[0388] The third set temperature Ts3 can be a desired temperature intended to control the skin surface temperature in the post-cooling section P3. Alternatively, the third set temperature Ts3 can be a desired temperature intended to control the temperature of the coolant sprayed in the post-cooling section P3. Alternatively, the third set temperature Ts3 can be a target temperature intended to control the desired temperature of the target undergoing laser treatment in the post-cooling section P3.
[0389] In one embodiment, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set by considering the degree of skin surface temperature rise in the laser emission section, the temperature that minimizes pain, the temperature that dries the skin by cooling, etc. Furthermore, the third set temperature Ts3 may be directly set by the user, or may be selected by the user to select the value set by the control module 1400 using the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0390] For example, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set by considering the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section. Specifically, the post-cooling may be performed to lower the skin surface temperature increased by the laser output in the laser emission section to normal body temperature. Therefore, in the post-cooling section P3, the refrigerant may be sprayed by considering the skin surface temperature according to the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section, and in consideration of the above description, the set temperature of the skin surface controlled in the post-cooling section P3 may be set as the third set temperature Ts3.
[0391] For example, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set by considering the temperature at which the pain of the tissue adjacent to the skin surface or the target is minimized. Specifically, the post-cooling may function to minimize damage to the skin surface or to minimize pain. Thus, the third set temperature Ts3 of the post-cooling section P3 may be set by considering the temperature at which the pain is minimized. For example, the third set temperature may be set as 30°C or lower, which is the temperature at which the activity of the nociceptors of the tissue adjacent to the skin surface or the target is reduced. Alternatively, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set as 10°C or lower, which is the temperature at which the activity of the nociceptors of the tissue adjacent to the skin surface or the target is reduced (preferably, a temperature greater than 0°C or lower and less than 10°C).
[0392] For example, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set by considering the temperature at which the skin surface or skin tissue is necrotic due to cooling. Specifically, for example, when the skin surface or skin is exposed to a temperature of 0°C or lower for a long period of time, frostbite may cause necrosis of the skin tissue. As another example, when the skin surface or skin is exposed to a temperature of -20°C or lower, necrosis of the skin tissue may be caused even in the case of a short period of exposure. Therefore, in the post-cooling section P3, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set as a temperature higher than the temperature at which the skin surface or skin is necrotic (for example, 0°C or lower).
[0393] In one embodiment, the third set temperature Ts3 may be required to be set differently for each section in the post-cooling section P3. For example, since the beginning section of the post-cooling section P3 is adjacent to the stop time of the laser emission section, the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section may be an important factor to be considered when presetting the third set temperature Ts3 in the beginning section of the post-cooling section P3. On the other hand, in the section after the beginning section of the post-cooling section P3, the temperature at which pain is minimized and the temperature at which skin necrosis occurs may be relatively important factors to be considered when setting the third set temperature Ts3. In this case, since the factors to be considered in the beginning section and the rear section of the post-cooling section P3 are different, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set differently in the post-cooling section P3.
[0394] Although the above describes the third set temperature Ts3 as being set relative to the skin surface temperature, it is not limited thereto, and it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that a specific temperature may be set based on the temperature of the refrigerant controlled by the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, which is a direct variable of the skin surface temperature.
[0395] Returning to FIG. 8, the laser treatment method may include a step S4200 of determining the temperature or spray amount of the coolant by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S4100. Specifically, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature and / or spray amount of the coolant in S4200 by controlling the coolant condition control unit 1220 by considering the skin surface temperature and / or the temperature of the coolant measured in S4100. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may determine the spray amount of the coolant in S4200 by controlling the amount of the coolant supplied to the spray unit 1230 by controlling the duration of the open / close cycle and the open / close time of the flow control unit 1210.
[0396] In the step of spraying the coolant in S4300, the coolant may be sprayed according to the temperature or spray amount of the coolant determined in S4200.
[0397] When the coolant is sprayed in S4300, a step S4400 may be performed of determining whether a predetermined time has elapsed after the laser radiation has stopped.
[0398] In step S4400 of determining whether a predetermined time has elapsed after the laser emission has stopped, the control module 1400 may determine whether the period during which post-cooling is performed after the laser emission is within a predetermined period.
[0399] The predetermined time may be set by considering the degree of pain depending on the treatment type in the laser emitting section and the degree of skin surface temperature rise, etc. The predetermined time may mean a period during which post-cooling can be performed, and the period of post-cooling may have a linear relationship with the amount of energy applied to the skin surface, and therefore may be set by considering the degree of pain depending on the treatment in the laser emitting section and the degree of skin surface temperature rise.
[0400] For example, the degree of pain may vary according to the treatment type or treatment area, and when the degree of pain is relatively high, the period of post-cooling, i.e., the predetermined period, is set relatively long so that a relatively large amount of cooling energy is applied to the skin surface. On the other hand, when the degree of pain is relatively low, the period of post-cooling, i.e., the predetermined period, is set relatively short so that a relatively small amount of cooling energy is applied to the skin surface. In other words, the predetermined period may be set by considering the degree of pain according to the treatment.
[0401] The predetermined period of time may be set directly by the user or may be set by the user to select a value set by the control module 1400 using treatment and temperature information stored in the control module 1400. Additionally, the predetermined period of time may be set before the laser treatment begins (e.g., before the start step of FIG. 5).
[0402] When the time period during which post-cooling is to be performed is within the predetermined time period, step S4100 is performed to measure the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the refrigerant so that the series of steps can be performed again.
[0403] On the other hand, if the period during which post-cooling is performed exceeds a predetermined period, the control module 1400 may stop post-cooling.
[0404] However, while the control module 1400 has been described herein as "determining" whether a predetermined period of time has elapsed after laser emission, the present invention is not limited thereto, and when a predetermined period of time has elapsed after laser emission, a time lapse signal may be sent to the control module 1400, and the control module 1400 may control the laser treatment device 100 to stop post-cooling, even if the control module does not determine whether a predetermined period of time has elapsed after laser emission.
[0405] 8, post-cooling is shown to stop a predetermined period of time after laser radiation has ceased, but this is by way of example only. Post-cooling may also be stopped through the user ceasing input of the coolant spray.
[0406] As described above, the control module 1400 mainly determines the temperature or spray amount of the refrigerant in consideration of the temperature measured in S4200 and the third predetermined set temperature Ts3. However, this is only an example, and according to the above embodiment, the control module 1400 may determine whether the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to the "condition" of the third predetermined set temperature. In this case, the third predetermined set temperature condition may be a temperature range in which an acceptable "error range" for the third predetermined set temperature is preset. Alternatively, the third predetermined set temperature condition may be any suitable condition including a condition in which the skin surface temperature is maintained at a specific temperature value for a specific period of time.
[0407] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., actual temperature of the skin surface, actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) corresponds to a third predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may determine the temperature or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed such that the refrigerant is sprayed at the temperature or amount of refrigerant sprayed.
[0408] When the measured actual temperature (e.g., the actual temperature of the skin surface and the actual temperature of the sprayed refrigerant) does not correspond to the third predetermined set temperature condition, the control module 1400 may control the temperature or amount of the refrigerant via the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of the refrigerant via the flow rate control unit 1210.
[0409] According to the laser treatment method using the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, at least two set temperatures among the first set temperature Ts1 in the pre-cooling section P1, the second set temperature Ts2 in the laser emitting section, and the third set temperature Ts3 in the post-cooling section P3 may be set to be different. Specifically, factors to be considered in the pre-cooling section P1, the laser emitting section, and the post-cooling section P3 may be different. For example, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set by considering the degree of increase in the skin surface temperature in the laser emitting section, whether or not a laser interference substance is generated in the laser emitting section, and the second set temperature may be set by considering the temperature of the target in the laser emitting section, the desired temperature of the target, and the skin damage temperature, etc. Furthermore, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set by considering the temperature that minimizes pain and the skin drying temperature due to cooling, etc. In this case, since factors to be considered in each section may be different, the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be set to be different from each other.
[0410] For example, the first set temperature Ts1 may be lower than the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be a temperature between the first set temperature Ts1 and the second set temperature Ts2. Specifically, since the second set temperature Ts2 may correspond to a section where the skin surface temperature is increased by the laser radiation, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set higher than the first set temperature Ts1 and the third set temperature Ts3. Furthermore, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set as a temperature lower than the third set temperature Ts3 so as to maintain the skin surface temperature as low as possible before the laser radiation.
[0411] For example, the first set temperature Ts1 may be lower than the second set temperature Ts2, and the first set temperature Ts1 may be higher than the third set temperature Ts3. Specifically, the second set temperature Ts2 may correspond to a section where the skin surface temperature rises due to laser radiation, so the second set temperature Ts2 may be set higher than the first set temperature Ts1 and the third set temperature Ts3. Furthermore, the first set temperature Ts1 may be set as a temperature (0°C or higher) at which no frost exists on the skin surface during laser radiation, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be set as a temperature lower than 0°C to return the skin surface temperature to normal temperature as soon as possible.
[0412] For example, the first set temperature Ts1 may be lower than the second set temperature Ts2 and may be equal to the third set temperature Ts3. Specifically, since the second set temperature Ts2 may correspond to a section where the skin surface temperature is increased by laser radiation, the second set temperature Ts2 may be set higher than the first set temperature Ts1 and the third set temperature Ts3. Furthermore, the first set temperature Ts1 and the third set temperature Ts3 may be set as any suitable equal temperature in consideration of the above description.
[0413] For example, in the laser emitting section, the second set temperature may be set so that the skin surface temperature is near the second set temperature. However, since high-power energy is applied to the skin surface in the laser emitting section, the skin surface temperature may not be controlled to the second set temperature. That is, the difference between the actual skin surface temperature and the second set temperature may be large. In this example, regardless of the actual skin surface temperature, the second set temperature may be set as low as possible so as to minimize the possibility of damage to the skin surface. In this case, the second set temperature Ts2 may be lower than the first set temperature Ts1 and / or the third set temperature Ts3.
[0414] However, the above description is merely an example, and the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature Ts3 may be set in consideration of the type and purpose of the treatment. For example, the first set temperature Ts1, the second set temperature Ts2, and the third set temperature may all be set to the same temperature. As another example, the first set temperature Ts1 and the second set temperature Ts2 may be set to the same temperature in consideration of the type and purpose of the treatment. As another example, the second set temperature Ts2 and the third set temperature Ts3 may be set to the same temperature in consideration of the type and purpose of the treatment.
[0415]
[0416] According to the laser treatment method using the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, an error range of the first set temperature Ts1 in the pre-cooling section P1, an error range of the second set temperature Ts2 in the laser emission section, and an error range of the third set temperature Ts3 in the post-cooling section P3 may be set. For example, referring back to FIG. 4, in the pre-cooling section P1, the skin surface temperature may be set to be controlled to the first set temperature Ts1, and an error range R1 may be set to maintain the skin surface temperature within a predetermined temperature range.
[0417] In this case, the error range may be entered directly by the user in the same manner as the set point temperature described above, or may be set in the control module 1400 as any suitable value.
[0418] Furthermore, the error range may be set to be different for the pre-cooling section P1, the intermediate cooling section P2, and the post-cooling section P3.
[0419] For example, in the intermediate cooling section P2, the error range may be set by considering the type of laser, the laser output, the skin damage temperature, and the desired temperature of the target, and since the possibility of skin damage caused by the laser is relatively high, the error range of the set temperature may be set narrower than that of the other cooling sections.
[0420] On the other hand, since the post-cooling section P3 is a cooling section after the laser output is stopped, and the possibility of skin damage due to the increase in temperature caused by laser treatment may be lower in the post-cooling section P3 than in other cooling sections, the error range associated with the set temperature in the post-cooling section P3 may be set wider in the post-cooling section P3 than in the other cooling sections.
[0421] According to the laser treatment method using the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, the set temperature of the skin surface may be suitably set in consideration of the treatment situation and temperature situation in each of the pre-cooling section P1, the laser emission section, and the post-cooling section P3, so that a customized treatment can be performed for each treatment situation and each temperature situation, and more efficient cooling can be performed. In particular, in the pre-cooling section P1, the skin surface temperature may be reduced before the laser emission so as to prevent the possibility of skin damage caused by the temperature rise in the laser emission section, and in the laser emission section, the skin surface temperature may be controlled to a temperature at or below the skin damage temperature so as to minimize the possibility of skin damage. Furthermore, in the post-cooling section P3, the skin surface temperature may be controlled to a temperature that can minimize pain so as to minimize the pain caused by the treatment. Furthermore, in the laser emission section, the skin surface temperature is maintained at or below the skin damage temperature, while the temperature and / or amount of the coolant may be controlled in association with the laser emission so that the temperature of the target reaches the desired temperature of the target. Therefore, based on the above, it is possible to achieve the objective of the target treatment and the objective of the present specification of minimizing the possibility of skin damage and pain.
[0422]
[0423] When measuring the skin temperature during laser irradiation, an error may occur. Specifically, when the detection unit 1300 detects the temperature of the skin surface while the laser is irradiated on the skin surface in the laser emitting section, the output of the laser is significantly large, so the detection of the skin surface temperature by the detection unit 1300 may be hindered by the laser. Therefore, when measuring the skin temperature in the laser emitting section, the measured skin temperature may have an error. Hereinafter, a method of driving the laser treatment device to minimize the error of the skin temperature measured in the laser emitting section will be described with reference to FIG. 9. FIG. 9 is a flow chart S5000 showing a method of correcting the measured skin surface temperature according to an embodiment of the laser treatment method disclosed herein.
[0424] 9, the method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may include emitting a laser in S5100; measuring a skin surface temperature in S5200; and determining whether the measured skin surface temperature is an actual skin surface temperature in S5300. In this case, when the measured skin surface temperature is the actual skin surface temperature, temperature feedback may be performed in S5410 by controlling the temperature and / or amount of coolant based on the measured skin surface temperature. On the other hand, when it is determined that the measured skin surface temperature is not the actual skin surface temperature, correction of the measured skin surface temperature may be performed in S5420.
[0425] Below, a method for correcting the skin surface temperature measured in S5420 is proposed, which corrects the error or reduces the possibility of the error.
[0426] In one embodiment, the accuracy of the temperature feedback caused by the error of the measured temperature can be improved by using a method of correcting and estimating the data of the skin surface temperature measured by the detection unit 1300 at the same time as the laser emission time. Specifically, by using the data of the skin surface temperature caused by the laser emission accumulated by the conventional treatment, the correction and / or estimation of the data of the skin surface temperature measured by the detection unit 1300 can be performed so that the difference between the data of the skin surface temperature measured by the detection unit 1300 at the same time as the laser emission time and the data of the actual skin surface temperature is small. For example, based on the data of the change in the skin surface temperature caused by the laser emission accumulated by the conventional treatment, the trend of the change in the skin surface temperature caused by the laser emission can be analyzed, and the data of the skin surface temperature with a high possibility of error can be corrected and / or estimated to follow the trend of the change in the skin surface temperature. The accuracy of the temperature feedback can be improved by correcting and / or estimating the data of the skin surface temperature with a high possibility of error to make it suitable temperature data.
[0427] When measuring the skin surface temperature by using the sensing unit during laser emission, differences between the measured skin surface temperature and the actual skin surface temperature may occur under the influence of the laser.
[0428] In one embodiment, in order to reduce such errors, the cycle of temperature measurement by the sensing unit 1300 may be set in relation to the laser emission cycle. For example, when the laser is emitted, the laser may be output in a predetermined cycle, in which case the cycle of skin surface temperature measurement by the sensing unit 1300 may be set to be different from the laser output cycle so as to prevent or reduce errors in the measured skin surface temperature.
[0429] For example, the temperature measurement cycle of the detection unit 1300 may be set shorter than the laser emission cycle. When the temperature measurement cycle of the detection unit 1300 is set shorter than the laser emission cycle, the number of times of measuring the temperature of the skin surface that is very susceptible to errors due to the influence of the laser is different from the number of times of measuring the temperature of the skin surface that is not very susceptible to errors, and therefore it is easy to distinguish between them. In this way, the measured temperature of the skin surface that is very susceptible to errors due to the influence of the laser (for example, the skin surface temperature measured at the same time as the laser emission time) can be eliminated or corrected from the data, and the accuracy of the temperature feedback according to the error of the measured temperature can be improved.
[0430] Here, the temperature measurement cycle of the detection unit 1300 is described as being set shorter than the laser emission cycle, but is not limited thereto. The temperature measurement cycle is set as the same cycle as the laser emission cycle or longer than it, and the temperature data during the time when the laser emission time is the same as the temperature measurement time is eliminated or corrected so as to improve the accuracy of the temperature feedback according to the error of the measured temperature.
[0431] For example, the sensing unit 1300 may be configured to measure the skin surface temperature randomly. Specifically, the sensing unit 1300 measures the skin surface temperature randomly, regardless of the time and cycle of the laser output, so that the probability that the sensing unit 1300 measures the skin surface temperature at the same time as the laser output time can be reduced. In this way, the probability of error in the measured temperature of the skin surface is reduced, so that the accuracy of the temperature feedback can be improved.
[0432] In addition, when measuring the skin surface temperature by using the sensing unit during laser emission, differences between the measured skin surface temperature and the actual skin surface temperature may occur under the influence of the laser. To reduce this error, only the temperature data measured at the desired time may be selectively filtered.
[0433] For example, the sensing unit 1300 continuously measures the skin surface temperature, and among the measured temperature data, the temperature data measured at the time of laser emission may be excluded, and only the temperature data measured at the time other than the time of laser emission may be selectively filtered. The filtering may be performed through an external device or may be performed in the control module 1400. The accuracy of the temperature feedback may be improved by filtering the temperature data that is likely to be erroneous.
[0434] When measuring the skin surface temperature by using the sensing unit during laser emission, differences between the measured skin surface temperature and the actual skin surface temperature may occur under the influence of the laser.
[0435] In one embodiment, a filter may be used to selectively block only the wavelength of the laser used in the treatment to prevent errors in temperature measurement by the sensing unit 1300 caused by interference with the laser. Specifically, the sensing unit 1300 for measuring the skin surface temperature may be configured as an infrared temperature sensing unit, and during laser emission, the laser light or the light partially reflected on the skin surface by the laser may interfere with the infrared temperature sensing unit. In this case, a filter that can filter the laser wavelength band or wavelength band of the laser light reflected on the skin surface may be attached to the infrared temperature sensing unit. In this way, it is possible to minimize the temperature measurement error of the sensing unit 1300 caused by the laser or the laser reflection light. In other words, a filter (e.g., an infrared filter) may be attached to the sensing unit 1300 so that light of a specific wavelength does not pass through the filter, and thus, in the temperature measurement by the sensing unit 1300, the temperature measurement error caused by the laser interference and / or the laser reflection light can be minimized.
[0436]
[0437] According to the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, which prevents the error of the temperature measurement of the measured skin surface, the temperature measurement function of the detection unit 1300 may not be used in the laser emission section. Specifically, in the laser emission section, the measurement of the skin surface temperature may be disturbed by the laser, and in this case, it may not be efficient to perform temperature feedback by measuring the skin surface temperature. Therefore, the measurement of the skin surface temperature of the detection unit 1300 may not be performed in the laser emission section. However, since the laser emission section is a section with a high possibility of skin damage, a further method for preventing skin damage even if the temperature measurement of the detection unit 1300 is not performed will be proposed below.
[0438] In one embodiment, according to the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, in the laser emission section, the amount of the refrigerant can be set to a fixed value to spray the refrigerant to be sprayed on the skin surface, regardless of the skin surface temperature. Specifically, in the laser emission section, the detection unit 1300 can be configured so that the detection unit 1300 does not perform measurement of the skin surface temperature. In order to prevent damage to the skin surface from the thermal energy of the laser also in the laser emission section, the refrigerant can be sprayed on the skin surface by setting the amount of the refrigerant to a fixed value. In this case, the set value of the amount of the refrigerant can be a value that is considered so that the skin surface temperature does not reach the skin damage temperature based on the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0439] In one embodiment, according to the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, in the laser emission section, the temperature of the coolant can be set to a fixed value, regardless of the skin surface temperature, to spray the coolant on the skin surface. Specifically, in the laser emission section, the detection unit 1300 is configured so that the detection unit 1300 does not measure the skin surface temperature. In order to prevent damage to the skin surface from thermal energy by the laser, the temperature of the coolant to be sprayed may also be set to a fixed value in the laser emission section, and the coolant may be sprayed on the skin surface at a specific temperature value. Since the temperature of the coolant is a direct variable of the skin surface temperature, the coolant may be sprayed at a specific temperature so that the skin surface temperature can be controlled. In this case, the preset value of the coolant temperature may be a value that is considered so that the skin surface temperature does not reach a skin damage temperature based on the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0440] In one embodiment, according to the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, in the laser emission section, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be operated by fixing the value of the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant regardless of the skin surface temperature. Specifically, in the laser emission section, the detection unit 1300 may be configured so that the detection unit 1300 does not measure the skin surface temperature. In order to prevent damage to the skin surface from the thermal energy of the laser even in the laser emission section, the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may fix the value of the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant. For this purpose, the power applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 may be fixed by fixing the current applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. In this case, at least one of the current value applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, the power value applied to the refrigerant condition control unit 1220, and the value of the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant may be a value that is considered so that the skin surface temperature does not reach a skin damage temperature based on the treatment information and temperature information stored in the control module 1400.
[0441] The above mainly describes that the detection unit 1300 does not measure the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section. However, it will be apparent to a person skilled in the art that while the detection unit 1300 measures the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section, the above-described fixing of the amount of refrigerant by the refrigerant condition control unit, fixing of the temperature of the refrigerant by the refrigerant condition control unit, and fixing of the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant by the refrigerant condition control unit may be used in combination with each other, and through this combination, it is possible to achieve the objective of the present disclosure of controlling the skin surface temperature in the laser emission section so that it does not exceed the skin damage temperature.
[0442]
[0443] In the driving method of the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein, in order to prevent errors in the skin surface temperature measured by the detection unit 1300 while minimizing the possibility of damage to the skin surface, the change in the skin surface temperature and the temperature of the target in the laser emitting section may be estimated based on the treatment information and / or temperature information obtained through a conventional treatment. Specifically, the control module 1400 may be configured to estimate and / or predict the temperature change in the laser emitting section based on the skin surface temperature, the temperature of the target, and the temperature of the coolant obtained in the conventional treatment using substantially the same treatment information as the treatment information, such as the treatment area and the laser type where the treatment is performed.
[0444] In an embodiment, when performing a treatment by spraying refrigerant on the skin surface such that the temperature and amount of refrigerant have a specific value at the same time as the laser is emitted in the laser emission section of the conventional treatment, the control module 1400 may analyze the changes and trends of temperature information, including the skin surface temperature and / or the target temperature, based on the treatment information and temperature information obtained from the conventional treatment. In this case, the control module 1400 may analyze information such as the temperature and amount of refrigerant, the laser type, and the treatment area, and their relationship to the changes in the skin surface temperature and / or the target temperature. Furthermore, when a treatment substantially the same as the conventional treatment is performed, the control module 1400 may infer and predict the skin surface temperature and the target temperature, and may control the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant such that the spray of refrigerant is controlled. In this case, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant such that the skin surface temperature does not reach a skin damage temperature and the target temperature reaches a desired target temperature.
[0445] In one embodiment, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature and amount of the coolant to be sprayed based on the skin surface temperature and / or target temperature of a conventional treatment that is substantially the same as the treatment to be performed. In particular, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature and amount of the coolant to be sprayed based on the skin surface temperature and / or target temperature at the start time of the laser radiation of the conventional treatment and the skin surface temperature and / or target temperature at the stop time of the laser radiation. In this case, the control module 1400 may be configured to control the temperature and / or amount of the coolant such that the skin surface temperature does not reach a skin damaging temperature and the target temperature reaches a desired target temperature.
[0446] In one embodiment, multiple laser shots on one target may be performed, where the skin information acquired from the first shot can be used to control the temperature and / or amount of coolant sprayed in the second shot, as will be described in more detail below.
[0447] In one embodiment, a multiple target laser procedure may be performed where the temperature and / or amount of coolant sprayed on the second spot may be controlled by using temperature information from the first spot, as will be described in more detail below.
[0448]
[0449] The laser treatment device 100 disclosed in this specification may include a laser module that outputs laser to a patient's skin for laser treatment; a detection unit that measures the temperature of the skin; a nozzle that sprays a refrigerant onto the skin; a refrigerant condition control unit that controls at least one of the temperature and amount of the refrigerant sprayed; and a control module configured to control at least one of the temperature and amount of the refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information after obtaining at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information via the detection unit when performing a second shot of laser treatment after the first shot of laser treatment, where the first skin information includes at least the skin temperature at or before the laser output of the first shot starts, and the second skin information includes at least the skin temperature at or after the laser output of the first shot stops.
[0450] Here, the first skin information or second skin information is a concept that includes skin type, skin treatment area, skin temperature, and any suitable information related to skin, but hereinafter an embodiment of information about skin temperature will be mainly described.
[0451] The first skin information may be the skin temperature at or before the laser output of the first shot begins, and the second skin information may be the skin temperature at or after the laser output of the first shot stops.
[0452] When performing a second shot of laser treatment after a first shot of laser treatment, the control module 1400 of the laser treatment device 100 may be configured to control at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information.
[0453] According to the above embodiment, the first skin information may indicate a skin temperature detected substantially simultaneously with the time when the laser output starts, and the second skin information may indicate a skin temperature detected substantially simultaneously with the time when the laser output stops. In this case, when performing a second shot laser treatment after a first shot laser treatment, the control module 1400 may be configured to control at least one of a temperature and an amount of a coolant in at least a part of the emitting section of the laser based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information.
[0454] According to the above embodiment, when performing a second shot of laser treatment after a first shot of laser treatment, the control module 1400 may be configured to control at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant based on a “difference” between the first skin information and the second skin information.
[0455] According to the above embodiment, when performing a second shot laser treatment after a first shot laser treatment, the control module 1400 may be configured to control at least one of the temperature and the amount of the coolant based on the temperature detected from the skin surface irradiated with the second shot in the remaining cooling section excluding the laser radiation section of the second shot. In other words, the control module 1400 may be configured to control at least one of the temperature and the amount of the coolant in at least a part of the laser radiation section based on the first skin information and / or the second skin information related to the first shot in the laser radiation section, and may be configured to control at least one of the temperature and the amount of the coolant based on the temperature detected from the skin surface irradiated or irradiated with the second shot in the pre-cooling section P1 and / or the post-cooling section P3 excluding the laser radiation section.
[0456] According to the above embodiment, the laser output of the first shot and the second shot may be performed on the same target. For example, when the laser of the first shot is output to the first spot, the laser of the second shot may also be output to the first spot. In other words, the laser output of the first shot and the laser output of the second shot may be performed on substantially the same position of the skin.
[0457] According to the above embodiment, the laser output of the first shot and the second shot may be performed on different targets. For example, when the laser of the first shot is output to a first spot, the laser of the second shot may be output to a second spot. In other words, the first shot may be a laser output to a first position on the skin, and the second shot may be a laser output to a second position on the skin different from the first position.
[0458] According to the above embodiment, the method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may comprise performing multiple laser shots on one target.
[0459] According to the above embodiment, the method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may further comprise performing one laser shot on multiple targets.
[0460] According to the above embodiment, the method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may comprise performing multiple laser shots on multiple targets respectively.
[0461] Here, one laser shot may mean outputting one pulse. Furthermore, multiple laser shots may generally mean outputting multiple pulses. However, there may be cases where multiple short pulses are continuously outputted at intervals of a very short time unit (e.g., nanosecond time unit), in which case one laser shot may mean including multiple continuously outputted pulses.
[0462] Through this operation and implementation method, measurement errors of the skin surface temperature of at least the laser emitting section can be prevented, and the possibility of skin damage can be minimized. The above operation and implementation method will be described in more detail below.
[0463] The following description will be given with reference to Figures 10 to 12. Figure 10 is a diagram showing a first shot of laser irradiation. Figure 11 is a diagram showing a second shot of laser irradiation on the first spot after a predetermined period of time has elapsed after completion of the first shot of laser irradiation on the first spot. Figure 12 is a flow chart showing a method S6000 of operating a laser treatment device when performing multiple laser shots on the first spot.
[0464] The method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed in this specification may include, when starting laser treatment, measuring first skin information in S6100; emitting a first shot of laser in S6200; measuring second skin information in S6300; controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400; and spraying refrigerant in accordance with the laser emission of the second shot and the controlled temperature or amount of refrigerant in S6500.
[0465] According to the above embodiment, in the step of measuring the first skin information in S6100, the skin information of the target skin surface or an area adjacent to the skin surface that will undergo laser treatment may be detected by the detection unit 1300.
[0466] The first skin information may be detected when or before the output of the laser starts. Preferably, the first skin information may be skin information detected substantially simultaneously with the time when the output of the laser starts.
[0467] The first skin information may be the temperature of the skin surface of the target to be treated with the laser or the "skin temperature" of the area adjacent to the skin surface. For example, the first skin information may be the skin surface temperature before the laser is output and its thermal energy is applied to the skin surface. However, the first skin information is not limited to the skin surface temperature, but may include the patient's skin type and treatment area, and the target location and / or depth. For example, in the case of a hair removal treatment, information about the characteristics of the skin where the hair is located (e.g., moisture, sensitivity, etc.) and skin information about the target location or depth may be measured and this information may be used during the laser irradiation of the second shot.
[0468] According to the above embodiment, the first skin information may be detected at a time before the start time of the laser output. In this case, pre-cooling may be performed at a time before the start time of the laser output. When pre-cooling is performed, in addition to the first skin information, information about the temperature and / or amount of the coolant sprayed in pre-cooling may be obtained and used to control the temperature and / or amount of the coolant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot described later.
[0469] In the first shot of laser radiation in S6200, the laser module 1100 may output a laser to the treatment target. Preferably, the first shot of laser radiation may be designed to obtain skin information to precisely control the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed when the second shot of laser radiation is emitted. In other words, the first shot of laser radiation may be designed to control the temperature and / or amount of the refrigerant based on the skin information obtained at the radiation start time and radiation stop time of the laser radiation section of the first shot, so that the skin surface temperature does not reach the skin damage temperature during the laser treatment of the second shot.
[0470] According to the above embodiment, in the step of measuring the second skin information in S6300, the second skin information may be detected by the sensing unit 1300 in the same skin surface area as the skin surface area where the first skin information was measured, i.e., the second skin information may be measured for the skin surface or an area adjacent to the skin surface of the target to be treated by the laser.
[0471] The second skin information may be detected when or after the laser output is completed. Preferably, the second skin information may be skin information detected substantially simultaneously with the time when the laser output is stopped.
[0472] The second skin information may be the "skin temperature" of the skin surface of the area adjacent to the target or skin surface to be treated by the laser. For example, the second skin information may be the skin surface temperature after the laser output is stopped and thermal energy is applied to the skin surface. However, the second skin information is not limited to the skin surface temperature, but may include the laser type (laser wavelength and power) and the laser emission time in the laser emission section, etc.
[0473] According to the above embodiment, the second skin information may be detected when the laser output is stopped or at a later time. In this case, in the laser emission section, a coolant may be sprayed in addition to the laser output. That is, intermediate cooling may be performed. When intermediate cooling is performed, information on the temperature and / or amount of the coolant sprayed may be further obtained during intermediate cooling. Furthermore, information on the change in the skin surface temperature according to the temperature and / or amount of the coolant sprayed may also be obtained during intermediate cooling. The information on the temperature of the coolant, the amount of the coolant, and / or the information on the change in the skin surface temperature during intermediate cooling may be used to control the temperature and / or amount of the coolant to be sprayed before, during, or after the laser emission of the second shot described later.
[0474] In controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant in S6400 based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information, the control module 1400 may control at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot based on at least one of the detected first skin information and the second skin information. In this case, the control module 1400 may control the temperature and / or amount of refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot by controlling the amount of thermal energy applied to the refrigerant through the refrigerant condition control unit 1220. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot by controlling the duration of the open / close time and / or the open / close cycle of the flow control unit 1210.
[0475] In controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, by controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot, the skin surface temperature may be controlled to a temperature at or below a skin damage temperature during the emission of the second shot, thus minimizing the possibility of skin damage.
[0476] For example, in controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled based on the first skin information.
[0477] For example, the temperature and / or amount of the coolant to be sprayed during the second shot of laser radiation can be controlled based on the "skin surface temperature" of the treatment area at the start time of the first shot of laser radiation. When the skin surface temperature is relatively high, the skin surface temperature is highly likely to reach the skin damage temperature due to the increase in the skin surface temperature caused by the heat storage by the laser, so the coolant to be sprayed during the second shot of laser radiation can be controlled to be sprayed at a relatively low temperature or in a relatively large amount.
[0478] On the other hand, when the skin surface temperature is relatively low, the skin surface temperature is less likely to reach the skin damage temperature due to the rise in the skin surface temperature caused by heat accumulation by the laser, so the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot is controlled to be sprayed at a relatively high temperature or in a relatively small amount, thus reducing the power consumption of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and saving the refrigerant.
[0479] For example, in controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled based on the “second skin information.”
[0480] For example, the temperature and / or amount of the coolant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot can be controlled based on the "skin surface temperature" of the treatment area at substantially the same time as the laser radiation of the first shot is stopped. When the skin surface temperature is at or above the skin damage temperature or is relatively close to the skin damage temperature at substantially the same time as the laser radiation is stopped, it means that there is a high possibility of skin damage due to the laser radiation, therefore, the coolant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot can be controlled to be sprayed at a relatively low temperature or in a relatively large amount. Therefore, it is possible to minimize the possibility of skin damage.
[0481] On the other hand, when the skin surface temperature is not relatively close to the skin damage temperature, which means that the skin surface temperature is less likely to reach the skin damage temperature due to the increase in the skin surface temperature caused by heat accumulation by the laser, the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot is controlled to be sprayed at a relatively high temperature or in a relatively small amount, thus reducing the power consumption of the refrigerant condition control unit 1220 and saving refrigerant.
[0482] For example, in controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot may be controlled based on the first skin information and the second skin information. In some examples, in controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser emission of the second shot may be controlled based on a "difference" between the first skin information and the second skin information.
[0483] For example, in the step of controlling at least one of the temperature and the amount of the refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, the temperature and / or the amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled based on the "difference" between the skin surface temperature of the treatment area substantially simultaneous with the start time of the laser radiation of the first shot and the skin surface temperature of the treatment area substantially simultaneous with the stop time of the laser radiation of the first shot. That is, the temperature and / or the amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled based on the difference between the skin surface temperature at the start time and the stop time of the laser radiation of the first shot. When the difference between the skin surface temperatures is relatively large, it may be interpreted as meaning that the skin surface temperature at the start time is significantly increased by the laser radiation and is very likely to reach a skin damage temperature. Therefore, in this case, the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled to be sprayed at a relatively low temperature or in a relatively large amount. Therefore, it is possible to minimize the possibility of skin damage.
[0484] On the other hand, when the difference between the skin surface temperatures is relatively small, it can be interpreted as meaning that the skin surface temperature at the start time is raised by the laser radiation only a small amount, and is unlikely to reach the skin damage temperature. Therefore, in this case, the coolant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot can be controlled to be sprayed at a relatively high temperature or in a relatively small amount. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the power consumption of the coolant condition control unit 1220 and save the coolant.
[0485] In the step of controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400, at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant may be controlled further taking into account a difference between a stop time of the first shot and a start time of the second shot.
[0486] For example, when the difference between the stop time of the first shot and the start time of the second shot is relatively large, the thermal energy transferred to the skin surface by the laser radiation of the first shot is very likely to disperse to the surrounding tissue. On the other hand, when the difference between the stop time of the first shot and the start time of the second shot is relatively small, the thermal energy remaining on the skin surface due to the laser radiation of the first shot may be relatively high, and the laser radiation of the second shot may accumulate additional thermal energy on the skin surface, so that the skin surface temperature may be relatively more likely to reach the skin damage temperature. Therefore, when the time difference is relatively small, the refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser radiation of the second shot may be controlled to be sprayed at a relatively low temperature or in a relatively large amount.
[0487] In the step of spraying the coolant according to the laser radiation of the second shot and the controlled temperature or amount of the coolant in S6500, the coolant may be sprayed on the treatment area according to the temperature and / or amount of the coolant controlled in the step of controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of the coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S6400. In this case, the spraying of the coolant may be performed in at least a part of the laser radiation section of the second shot. That is, since the coolant is sprayed according to the controlled temperature or amount of the coolant, intermediate cooling may be performed during the laser radiation of the second shot. Furthermore, through this cooling, the skin surface temperature in the laser radiation section of the second shot may be controlled so as not to reach a skin damage temperature.
[0488] However, the control of the refrigerant is not limited to intermediate cooling, and "pre-cooling" before the laser radiation of the second shot and / or "post-cooling" after the laser radiation of the second shot may be performed according to the controlled temperature or amount of the refrigerant, thus achieving the objective of the present disclosure of minimizing the possibility of skin damage and pain. In other words, although the above mainly describes intermediate cooling in which at least one of the temperature and amount of the refrigerant is controlled based on the first skin information and / or the second skin information of the first shot, the control of the refrigerant is not limited to intermediate cooling, and at least one of the temperature and amount of the refrigerant to be sprayed may be controlled in pre-cooling and / or post-cooling of the second shot based on the first skin information and / or the second skin information of the first shot.
[0489] Although the above describes a procedure in which multiple laser shots are performed on a single target, the above description is not limited to performing multiple laser shots on a single target, but may be further extrapolated and applied to irradiating multiple targets with a laser in the same or similar manner, which will be described later. The following description will focus on the characteristics of laser procedures on multiple targets.
[0490] Hereinafter, a description will be given with reference to Figures 13 and 15. Figure 13 is a diagram showing irradiation of a first spot with a laser. Figure 14 is a diagram showing irradiation of a second spot with a laser after a predetermined period has elapsed after irradiation of the first spot with a laser. FIG. 15 is a flow chart showing a method S7000 of operating a laser treatment device when irradiating multiple spots with the laser.
[0491] The method of operating the laser treatment device 100 disclosed in this specification may include measuring first skin information of a first spot after laser treatment begins at S7100; irradiating the first spot with a laser at S7200; measuring second skin information of the first spot at S7300; controlling at least one of a temperature and an amount of refrigerant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information at S7400; and spraying refrigerant according to the laser irradiation of the second spot and the controlled temperature or amount of refrigerant at S7500.
[0492] According to the above embodiment, in the step of measuring the first skin information of the first spot in S610, the skin information of the skin surface of the first spot or the area adjacent to the skin surface to be treated by the laser may be detected by the detection unit 1300. The first spot may be a spot different from the second spot described later. However, the first spot and the second spot may be tissues in vivo that perform the same or similar functions in adjacent areas.
[0493] The first skin information may be detected when or before laser output to the "first spot" begins.
[0494] Additionally, the first skin information may be the skin temperature of the skin surface or an area adjacent to the skin surface of the "first spot." However, the first skin information is not limited thereto and may include the patient's skin type, the treatment area, and the target location.
[0495] In the step of irradiating the first spot with a laser in S7200, the laser module 1100 may output a laser to the first spot to be treated. Preferably, the irradiation of the first spot with a laser may be intended to obtain skin information for suitably controlling the temperature and / or amount of the coolant to be sprayed when the second spot is irradiated with a laser. In other words, skin information at the start time and stop time of the laser irradiation section of the "first spot" may be obtained, and the temperature and / or amount of the coolant may be controlled based on this skin information so that the skin surface temperature does not reach the skin damage temperature during the laser treatment of the second spot, which is a spot different from the first spot.
[0496] According to the above embodiment, in the step of measuring the second skin information of the first spot in S7300, the second skin information may be detected by the sensing unit 1300 in the same skin surface area as the skin surface area where the first skin information was measured, i.e., the second skin information may be measured in the first spot.
[0497] The second skin information may be detected when or after the laser output to the "first spot" has stopped.
[0498] Furthermore, the second skin information may be the "skin surface temperature" of the skin surface of the "first spot" or an area adjacent to the skin surface. However, the second skin information is not limited to the skin surface temperature, but may include the laser type (laser wavelength and power) and laser emission time in the laser emission section, etc.
[0499] In controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information in S7400, at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser irradiation of the second spot may be controlled based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information detected from the first spot. In this case, the skin surface temperature of the second spot may be controlled not to reach a skin damage temperature when the second spot is irradiated with a laser by controlling at least one of the temperature and amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser irradiation of the second spot. In this way, it is possible to minimize the possibility of skin damage of the second spot.
[0500] In the step of spraying the coolant in response to the laser irradiation of the second spot and the controlled temperature or amount of coolant in S6500, the coolant may be sprayed on the second spot according to the controlled temperature and / or amount of coolant based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information detected from the first spot. In this case, the coolant sprayed on the second spot may be sprayed before the second spot is irradiated with the laser. Alternatively, the coolant may be sprayed on the second spot while the second spot is irradiated with the laser. Alternatively, the coolant may be sprayed on the second spot after the second spot is irradiated with the laser.
[0501] The above-described embodiments may apply when the treatment environment, treatment type, or treatment method of the first spot and the second spot are the same or similar.
[0502] However, even when the treatment environment, treatment type, or treatment method of the first spot and the second spot are different, at least one of the temperature and amount of refrigerant to be sprayed on the second spot may be controlled based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information of the first spot, further taking into account the difference between the treatment environment, treatment type, or treatment method of the first spot and the second spot.
[0503] For example, although not shown in FIG. 15, when a second shot of laser treatment is performed after a first shot of laser treatment, a third skin information of a second spot may be measured by the detection unit 1300.
[0504] The third skin information may be the skin information of the second spot at or before the start of at least the second shot of laser output. Furthermore, the third skin information may be the "skin temperature" of the skin surface of the area adjacent to the target or skin surface to be treated by the second shot of laser. For example, the third skin information may be the skin surface temperature before thermal energy is applied to the skin surface corresponding to the second spot by outputting the second shot of laser. However, the third skin information is not limited to the skin surface temperature, and may include the patient's skin type, the treatment area, and the target position and / or depth, etc. For example, when a treatment for hair removal is performed, information about the characteristics of the skin where the hair is located (e.g., moisture and sensitivity, etc.) and the skin information about the target position or depth may be measured and used as a basis for controlling the properties of the refrigerant during the second shot of laser irradiation.
[0505] In one embodiment, the control module 1400 may control at least one of a temperature and an amount of refrigerant to be sprayed during the laser treatment of the second shot based on at least one of the first skin information, the second skin information, and the third skin information associated with the first shot acquired through the detection unit 1300.
[0506] For example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser treatment of the second shot based on the difference between the first skin information associated with the first shot and the third skin information associated with the second shot. For example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the coolant to be sprayed on the second spot to be relatively higher when the skin temperature included in the first skin information is higher than the skin temperature included in the third skin information than when the skin temperature included in the first skin information is lower than the skin temperature included in the third skin information. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of coolant to be sprayed on the second spot to be relatively smaller when the skin temperature included in the first skin information is lower than the skin temperature included in the third skin information than when the skin temperature included in the first skin information is higher than the skin temperature included in the third skin information.
[0507] For example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature or amount of coolant to be sprayed during the laser treatment of the second shot based on the difference between the second skin information associated with the first shot and the third skin information associated with the second shot. For example, the control module 1400 may control the temperature of the coolant to be sprayed on the second spot to be relatively higher when the difference between the skin temperature included in the second skin information and the skin temperature included in the third skin information is a second difference greater than the first difference than when the difference between the skin temperature included in the second skin information and the skin temperature included in the third skin information is the first difference. Alternatively, the control module 1400 may control the amount of coolant to be sprayed on the second spot to be relatively smaller when the difference between the skin temperature included in the second skin information and the skin temperature included in the third skin information is a second difference greater than the first difference than when the difference between the skin temperature included in the second skin information and the skin temperature included in the third skin information is the first difference.
[0508] 10-12, the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may be operated as a method of outputting multiple laser shots to one spot. Additionally, with reference to Figures 13-15, the laser treatment device 100 disclosed herein may be operated as a method of outputting a laser shot to each of multiple spots. However, this is not a limitation, and any principles and advantages of the method of outputting multiple laser shots to one spot and any principles and advantages of the method of outputting one laser shot to each of multiple spots may be combined with each other.
[0509] For example, when a treatment is performed by irradiating a first spot with a first shot, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during a second shot treatment on the first spot may be controlled based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information for the first shot. Additionally, the temperature and / or amount of coolant to be sprayed during a laser treatment on the second spot may be controlled based on at least one of the first skin information and the second skin information for the first shot.
[0510] That is, the method of outputting a plurality of laser shots to one spot and the method of outputting a single laser shot to each of a plurality of spots may be combined with each other.
[0511] A method of emitting laser while cooling by using a laser treatment device 100 having a cooling system according to an embodiment of the present disclosure will now be described with reference to FIG.
[0512] FIG. 16 is a flow chart illustrating a method S8000 of firing a laser during cooling according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.
[0513] Referring to FIG. 16, a method S8000 of emitting a laser to a skin surface during cooling during laser treatment may include receiving a first trigger signal at S8100; performing a cooling function at S8200; receiving a second trigger signal at S8300; determining whether a laser emission condition is met at S8400; providing a notification at S8500; and emitting the laser at S8600.
[0514] Each step is explained in more detail below.
[0515] The laser treatment device 100 may receive a first trigger signal from a user in S8100. Here, the first trigger signal may include a trigger signal commanding the initiation of laser treatment and / or a trigger signal commanding cooling before laser treatment. In this case, the laser treatment device 100 may include a first trigger button (or a first trigger) for receiving the first trigger signal.
[0516] Upon receiving the first trigger signal, the laser treatment device 100 may operate the cooling module to cool the skin surface in S8200. For example, the cooling module may continuously measure the skin surface temperature and cool the skin surface by periodically or continuously spraying a refrigerant onto the skin surface such that the skin surface temperature is a first predetermined set temperature Ts1. As another example, the cooling module may cool the skin surface such that the skin surface temperature is within a preset temperature range relative to the first predetermined set temperature Ts1. As yet another example, the cooling module may cool the skin surface such that the skin surface temperature varies over time within different set temperature ranges. In this case, the laser treatment device 100 may use the skin temperature information obtained from the sensing unit when operating the cooling module.
[0517] The laser treatment device 100 may receive a second trigger signal from the user in S8300. The second trigger signal may include a signal commanding laser irradiation to the skin surface. In this case, the laser treatment device 10 may include a second trigger button (or a second trigger) for receiving the second trigger signal. On the other hand, the step S8300 of receiving the second trigger signal may be omitted or may be performed after the step S8400 of determining whether the laser emission condition is met, which will be described later. Through the step of receiving the second trigger signal in S8300, the user may emit the laser to the skin surface at a desired time.
[0518] Upon receiving the first trigger signal or the second trigger signal, the laser treatment device 100 may determine whether a laser emission condition is met in S8400. Here, the laser emission condition may include at least one of the following conditions: the skin surface temperature is within a set temperature range, the skin surface temperature is maintained within a set temperature range for a predetermined period of time, and a predetermined period of time has passed after the refrigerant begins to be sprayed on the skin surface. Of course, the skin surface temperature data described herein may be used to determine whether the above-mentioned conditions are met.
[0519] When the laser emission condition is not met, the laser treatment device 100 may provide a notification in S8500 and may perform a skin surface cooling function in S8200. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may include a notification module and may provide a notification to the user through the notification module to inform the user that the laser emission condition is not met. The notification may be performed in various ways, such as visual notification, audio notification, and tactile notification. On the other hand, even when the laser emission condition is met, the laser treatment device 100 may provide a notification to the user that the laser emission condition is met.
[0520] When the laser emission condition is met, the laser treatment device 100 may emit the laser to the skin surface in S8600. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may operate the laser module within a predetermined period of time from the time when the laser emission condition is met and may emit the laser to the skin surface. Meanwhile, when the laser emission condition is met, the laser treatment device 100 may provide a notification to the user and may emit the laser to the skin surface upon receiving a second trigger signal from the user.
[0521] When cooling of the skin surface is performed, the method of emitting the laser in S8000 may omit at least one of the above steps. For example, the step of determining whether the laser emission condition is met in S8400 and the step of providing a notification in S8500 may be omitted. Specifically, the laser treatment device 100 may emit the laser when the second trigger signal is received while cooling the skin surface. Alternatively, the laser treatment device 100 may cool the skin surface when the first trigger signal is received, and emit the laser when a predetermined period of time has elapsed or the skin surface meets a specific temperature condition.
[0522] 16, but as described elsewhere herein, the skin surface may be cooled during and after laser irradiation. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may control the refrigerant sprayed during laser irradiation so that the skin surface temperature is a second set temperature Ts2, and may control the refrigerant sprayed after laser irradiation so that the skin surface temperature is a third set temperature. As another example, the laser treatment device 100 may stop spraying the refrigerant when the laser irradiation starts. As yet another example, the laser treatment device 100 may stop spraying the refrigerant when the laser irradiation starts and resume spraying the refrigerant when the laser irradiation stops, and may control the refrigerant so that the skin surface temperature is the same as the first set temperature Ts1 or another third set temperature.
[0523] As described above, a laser is applied to the skin surface when predetermined conditions are met while the skin surface is continuously or cyclically cooled, thereby allowing for a laser procedure to be performed that is safer and reduces pain caused by laser application.
[0524]
[0525] Meanwhile, multiple cooling modules may be used to further improve the effect of the method S8000 of emitting laser during cooling. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may include a main cooling module that continuously sprays refrigerant in a spray section, and an auxiliary cooling module that sprays refrigerant in a preset set of sections based on the laser emission time. Here, the auxiliary cooling module is operated to spray refrigerant on the skin surface, and then the laser module is operated to emit laser.
[0526] Here, each of the main and auxiliary cooling modules may be understood to be similar to the cooling modules described herein and may be configured to have some components in common therewith. Additionally, the main and auxiliary cooling modules may control the refrigerant sprayed onto the skin surface by using different set temperatures.
[0527] Further, here, the main cooling module and the auxiliary cooling module may operate based on the trigger signal described above. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may operate the main cooling module upon receiving a first trigger signal, and may operate the auxiliary cooling module upon receiving a second trigger signal.
[0528] Therefore, the laser treatment device 100 may be equipped with a main cooling module that performs continuous cooling in the spray section, and an auxiliary cooling module that performs temporary cooling in the spray section, so that the laser treatment device 100 can continuously emit the laser while moving over the skin, thereby cooling the skin surface more quickly.
[0529]
[0530] A method for preventing the formation of interfering substances 20 that interfere with the laser irradiation of the skin will now be described with reference to Figures 17 to 22.
[0531] As described above, in laser treatment, cooling is performed before the laser irradiation to the skin, so that interference substances 20 (or blocking substances and reflecting substances) that interfere with the laser irradiation or block at least a part of the laser may be generated. For example, cooling may reduce the skin surface temperature, and frost may be generated on the skin surface, scattering or reflecting the laser irradiated to the skin surface, and thus blocking at least a part of the laser. As another example, as the temperature of the refrigerant sprayed on the skin surface decreases, at least a part of the refrigerant may freeze in the laser radiation path, and thus scattering or reflecting the emitted laser. Therefore, in order to prevent the formation of this interference substance 20 or to remove the generated interference substance 20, it is necessary to promote more effective laser treatment by controlling the temperature of the skin surface or the refrigerant.
[0532]
[0533] FIG. 17 is a diagram illustrating the generation of interfering substances 20 at the skin surface when the skin is cooled, according to embodiments herein.
[0534] FIG. 18 illustrates a method for preventing the formation of interferents 20 when cooling is performed, according to embodiments herein.
[0535] FIG. 19 is a diagram illustrating a method for performing cooling of the skin surface in a spray section including a frost prevention section P_frost according to an embodiment herein.
[0536] Referring to FIG. 17, an interfering substance 20 may be formed on the skin surface. For example, moisture in the air or moisture or gaseous substances contained in the skin may condense when the skin is cooled, and thus the interfering substance 20 may be formed. As another example, when a refrigerant sprayed to cool the skin surface condenses, the interfering substance 20 may be formed on the skin surface. This interfering substance 20 may block the user's view or reflect or scatter the laser irradiating the skin 10 in the laser treatment of the skin 10, and as a result, the effect of the laser treatment may be reduced. For convenience of explanation, the following mainly describes a case where the interfering substance 20 is frost, but the technical idea of the present specification is not limited thereto, and may be similarly applied to any substance that is formed on the skin surface by cooling, blocks the user's view, and scatters or reflects the laser.
[0537] Referring to FIG. 18, a method of preventing frost formation S9000 may include controlling the spray of coolant based on a first set temperature at S9100; controlling the spray of coolant based on a frost critical temperature at S9200; emitting a laser at S9300; and controlling the spray of coolant based on a second set temperature at S9400.
[0538] Each step will now be described in detail.
[0539] The laser treatment device 100 may control the spray of the coolant based on the first set temperature in S9100. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may reduce the skin surface temperature by spraying the coolant in the pre-cooling section P1 before irradiating the target on which the laser treatment is intended to be performed with the laser. Here, the temperature preset in the laser treatment device 100 for performing the cooling may include the first set temperature Ts1 described in other parts of this specification. In this case, the predetermined first set temperature Ts1 may be lower than or equal to the frost critical temperature Th1 described later.
[0540] The laser treatment device 100 may control the spray of the coolant based on the frost critical temperature in S9200. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may control the spray of the coolant based on the frost critical temperature Th1 before the target or skin surface is irradiated with the laser. Here, as described later, the frost critical temperature Th1 may mean a temperature at which frost is not formed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the formation of frost before the target or skin surface is irradiated with the laser.
[0541] The laser treatment device 100 may radiate a laser to a target or a skin surface in S9300. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may cool the skin surface by controlling the refrigerant based on the frost critical temperature Th1, and then radiate a laser to the skin surface. As another example, the laser treatment device 100 may radiate a laser to a target or a skin surface by receiving a user's input. Here, the laser treatment device 100 may determine whether frost has formed on the skin surface before outputting the laser. Specifically, the laser treatment device 100 may determine whether frost has formed by measuring the skin surface temperature. Alternatively, the laser treatment device 100 may determine that frost has not formed when the period during which the refrigerant has been controlled based on the frost critical temperature Th1 is a predetermined period or a period that exceeds the predetermined period. Alternatively, the laser treatment device 100 may determine whether frost has formed by receiving a user's input. The determination of whether frost has formed may not necessarily be performed.
[0542] The laser treatment device 100 may control the spray of the coolant based on the second set temperature Ts2 in S9400. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may reduce the skin surface temperature increased by the laser by spraying the coolant on the target or skin surface in the intermediate cooling section P2 where the laser is irradiated. Here, the temperature set in the laser treatment device 100 for performing the cooling may include the second set temperature Ts2 described in other parts of this specification. In this case, the second set temperature Ts2 may be higher than or equal to the frost critical temperature Th1.
[0543] Meanwhile, the step of controlling the spray of the coolant based on the second set temperature Ts2 in S9400 may be omitted. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may inhibit the spray of the coolant in the intermediate cooling section P2. As another example, the laser treatment device 100 may inhibit the spray of the coolant in the intermediate cooling section P2, and spray the coolant on the skin after the laser irradiation is stopped.
[0544] Although not shown, the laser treatment device 100 may also control the spray of the coolant in the post-cooling section P3 after the laser irradiation. For example, the laser treatment device 100 may perform cooling of the target or skin surface based on the third set temperature Ts3 after the laser irradiation of the target or skin surface, and may remove a part of the heat left on the target or skin surface by the laser irradiation. Here, the third set temperature Ts3 set in the post-cooling section P3 may be set independently of the frost critical temperature Th1. Alternatively, the third set temperature Ts3 may be set lower than the second set temperature Ts2 and higher than the frost critical temperature Th1, or lower than the frost critical temperature Th1.
[0545] Referring to FIG. 19, in order to prevent frost formation or remove frost prior to laser irradiation, the laser treatment device 100 may perform cooling of the skin surface to a frost critical temperature Th1, and thus the skin surface temperature may be controlled.
[0546] For example, the laser treatment device 100 may perform cooling based on the frost critical temperature Th1 in the frost prevention section P_frost before laser irradiation.
[0547] Here, the frost prevention section P_frost may be included in the pre-cooling section P1 by being located between the pre-cooling section P1 and the intermediate cooling section P2, or in front of the intermediate cooling section P2. Alternatively, the frost prevention section P_frost may include at least a part of the pre-cooling section P1 and at least a part of the intermediate cooling section P2.
[0548] Further, here, the frost prevention section P_frost may be preset to be sufficiently short to enhance the cooling efficiency, or may be preset to be sufficiently long to enhance the frost prevention efficiency. For example, the length of the frost prevention section P_frost length may be selected in the range of 0 to 10 seconds. Alternatively, the length of the frost prevention section P_frost may be preset within 0 to 20% of the pre-cooling section P1. Meanwhile, the length of the frost prevention section P_frost may be set in consideration of the temperature or the amount of the refrigerant sprayed. Further, here, the frost critical temperature Th1 may include a temperature at which the interfering substance 20, such as frost or ice, is not formed. For example, the frost critical temperature Th1 may be set as a frost formation temperature T_frost or a temperature exceeding it at which frost is formed. Specifically, the frost critical temperature Th1 may be set to be higher than 0° C. As another example, the frost critical temperature Th1 may be set in consideration of the humidity of the skin 10 or the surroundings of the skin. Specifically, the frost critical temperature Th1 may be set higher when the surroundings of the skin are relatively high than when the surroundings of the skin are relatively low. On the other hand, the frost critical temperature Th1 may be set higher than the first set temperature Ts1 based on the cooling at the start time of cooling the skin surface.
[0549] FIG. 20 is a diagram illustrating the generation of an interfering substance 20 in the path of a laser irradiating the skin 10, according to embodiments herein.
[0550] FIG. 21 illustrates a method for preventing the formation of interferents 20 in the path of the laser during cooling, according to embodiments herein.
[0551] FIG. 22 illustrates a method of controlling the temperature of the refrigerant to prevent the formation of interferents 20 according to embodiments herein.
[0552] 20, the interference material 20 may be formed in the path of the laser irradiating the skin 10. For example, the interference material 20 may be formed in the coolant spray path, and the interference material 20 may be formed at the portion where the coolant spray path overlaps with the laser radiation path. Here, the interference material 20 may be formed when the temperature of the coolant drops to a certain temperature or lower, or when the pressure of the coolant increases. Specifically, the interference material 20 may be formed when at least a part of the gas or liquid coolant changes to a solid state due to adiabatic expansion while the gas or liquid coolant is sprayed on the skin 10.
