[0034] The present invention will be described below through the embodiments of the invention, but the following embodiments do not limit the invention according to the claims. In addition, not all of the combinations of features described in the embodiments are necessarily essential to the solution of the invention. In addition, in the drawings, the same reference numbers are used for the same or similar parts, and duplicate explanations may be omitted.

[0035] [Overview of the Battery Management System 100] 1 shows an example of a system configuration of a battery management system 100. In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 includes an electric motorcycle 110, a mobile battery 122, an ID transmission unit 124, a verification ID writer 140, a battery station 160, and a management server 180. Note that the system configuration of the battery management system 100 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the battery management system 100 may be constructed using some of the above components.

[0036] Each unit of the battery management system 100 may transmit and receive information to and from each other via the communication network 10. Each unit of the battery management system 100 may transmit and receive information to and from a communication terminal 22 used by a rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110. Each unit of the battery management system 100 may transmit and receive information to and from a communication terminal 22 used by an administrator 40 of the battery management system 100.

[0037] In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 will be described in detail using as an example a case where the battery management system 100 provides a sharing service of a mobile battery 122 to a rider 20 of an electric motorcycle 110. However, the service provided by the battery management system 100 is not limited to the sharing service of the mobile battery 122.

[0038] In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 manages a mobile battery 122 that supplies power to the electric motorcycle 110. The battery management system 100 may manage one or more mobile batteries 122 (sometimes referred to as one or more).

[0039] For example, the battery management system 100 manages a specific mobile battery 122 in association with a specific electric motorcycle 110. More specifically, in this embodiment, the battery management system 100 assigns the same or corresponding identification information (sometimes referred to as a matching ID) to the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122 that are managed in association with each other (sometimes abbreviated to "corresponding").

[0040] In one embodiment, when it is possible to specify identification information B corresponding to identification information A or to specify identification information A corresponding to identification information B by referring to information indicating the correspondence between identification information A and identification information B, identification information A and identification information B are corresponding identification information. In another embodiment, when it is possible to convert one of identification information A and identification information B into the other of identification information A and identification information B based on a predetermined algorithm (which may be referred to as an algorithm for associating matching IDs), identification information A and identification information B are corresponding identification information. For example, when identification information B is data obtained by hashing or encrypting identification information A, identification information A and identification information B are corresponding identification information.

[0041] In this embodiment, the electric motorcycle 110 is configured to be fitted with an ID transmission unit 124 that stores a specific verification ID and transmits the verification ID to the electric motorcycle 110. The specific verification ID may be a verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 to which the ID transmission unit 124 is attached, or may be a verification ID assigned to the ID transmission unit 124.

[0042] In this case, the battery management system 100 may manage the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124 in association with each other. By managing the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124 in association with each other, the battery management system 100 can manage the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 to which the ID transmission unit 124 is attached in association with each other.

[0043] The battery management system 100 may (i) manage a single mobile battery 122 and a single electric motorcycle 110 in association with each other, (ii) manage a single mobile battery 122 and a plurality of electric motorcycles 110 in association with each other, (iii) manage a plurality of mobile batteries 122 and a single electric motorcycle 110 in association with each other, or (iv) manage a plurality of mobile batteries 122 and a plurality of electric motorcycles 110 in association with each other. The same applies when the battery management system 100 manages a mobile battery 122 and an ID transmission unit 124 in association with each other.

[0044] For example, when the battery management system 100 assigns the same matching ID to the corresponding electric bike 110 and mobile battery 122, each of the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122 stores the matching ID in an arbitrary storage device (not shown) arranged in each of the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122. As described above, the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 may be stored in an arbitrary storage device (not shown) arranged in the ID transmission unit 124 attached to the electric bike 110.

[0045] For example, when the battery management system 100 assigns a corresponding matching ID to each of the corresponding electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122, the electric bike 110 stores the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 in any storage device (not shown) arranged in the electric bike 110. As described above, the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 may be stored in any storage device (not shown) arranged in the ID transmission unit 124 attached to the electric bike 110. On the other hand, the mobile battery 122 stores the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 in any storage device (not shown) arranged in the mobile battery 122.

[0046] For example, when the battery management system 100 assigns the same matching ID to the corresponding ID transmission unit 124 and the mobile battery 122, each of the ID transmission unit 124 and the mobile battery 122 stores the matching ID in an arbitrary storage device (not shown) arranged in each of the ID transmission unit 124 and the mobile battery 122. For example, when the battery management system 100 assigns the corresponding matching ID to the corresponding ID transmission unit 124 and the mobile battery 122, the ID transmission unit 124 stores the matching ID assigned to the ID transmission unit 124 in an arbitrary storage device (not shown) arranged in the ID transmission unit 124. On the other hand, the mobile battery 122 stores the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 in an arbitrary storage device (not shown) arranged in the mobile battery 122.

[0047] As described above, according to this embodiment, the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and the mobile battery 122, which are managed in association with each other, hold the same or corresponding matching IDs. This allows the matching ID stored in the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 to be matched with the matching ID stored in the mobile battery 122 by an arbitrary computer. Examples of the above computer include a computer for the electric bike 110, a computer for the mobile battery 122, and a computer for the ID transmission unit 124 (none of which are shown in the figures).

[0048] Furthermore, various processes for managing the mobile battery 122 can be executed using the result of matching between the matching ID stored in the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and the matching ID stored in the mobile battery 122. For example, the battery management system 100 manages the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The process using the above matching result will be described later in detail.

[0049] The battery management system 100 may manage the exchange of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110. For example, the battery management system 100 manages the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 by managing the provision of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0050] [Overview of Components Related to Battery Management System 100] In this embodiment, the communication network 10 transmits information. The communication network 10 may be a transmission path for wired communication, a transmission path for wireless communication, or a combination of a transmission path for wireless communication and a transmission path for wired communication. The communication network 10 may include a wireless packet communication network, the Internet, a P2P network, a vehicle-to-vehicle communication network, a vehicle-to-roadway communication network, a dedicated line, a VPN, a power line communication line, etc.

[0051] The communication network 10 may include (i) a mobile communication network such as a mobile phone network, or (ii) a wireless communication network such as a wireless MAN (e.g., WiMAX (registered trademark)), a short-range wireless communication network, etc. Examples of communication methods used in short-range wireless communication networks include wireless LAN (e.g., WiFi (registered trademark)), Bluetooth (registered trademark), Zigbee (registered trademark), and NFC (Near Field Communication).

[0052] In this embodiment, the communication terminal 22 transmits and receives information to and from each unit of the battery management system 100 via the communication network 10. The communication terminal 22 may function as a user interface when the driver 20 or the manager 40 accesses the battery management system 100. The communication terminal 22 may be used for user authentication processing by the battery management system 100.

[0053] Examples of the communication terminal 22 include a personal computer and a mobile terminal. Examples of the mobile terminal include a mobile phone, a smartphone, a PDA, a tablet, a notebook computer or a laptop computer, and a wearable computer.

[0054] In this embodiment, the electric motorcycle 110 is equipped with one or more mobile batteries 122. The electric motorcycle 110 runs by consuming power supplied from the mobile batteries 122. In this embodiment, the electric motorcycle 110 is equipped with an ID transmission unit 124. The electric motorcycle 110 may read out a verification ID stored in a storage device (not shown) of the ID transmission unit 124 from the storage device. The electric motorcycle 110 may use the verification ID read out from the storage device of the ID transmission unit 124 as its own verification ID. Details of the electric motorcycle 110 will be described later.

[0055] In this embodiment, the mobile battery 122 is attached to the electric motorcycle 110 and supplies power to the electric motorcycle 110. The mobile battery 122 may include a storage device that stores a verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. The mobile battery 122 may obtain the verification ID from the verification ID writer 140.

[0056] The mobile battery 122 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The mobile battery 122 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 based on a result of matching between a matching ID stored in the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and a matching ID stored in the mobile battery 122. The mobile battery 122 may (i) acquire a matching ID stored in the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and execute the above matching process, or (ii) acquire information indicating a result of the matching process executed in an external device.

[0057] In one embodiment, the mobile battery 122 determines whether or not to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 based on the above-mentioned collation result. In another embodiment, the mobile battery 122 may determine whether or not to restrict power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 based on the above-mentioned collation result.

[0058] For example, if the mobile battery 122 attached to the electric bike 110 is not a mobile battery 122 compatible with the electric bike 110, the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 may be prohibited or limited. If the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 is prohibited or limited, the electric bike 110 may not be able to perform at its rated level.

[0059] This allows the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110 to quickly recognize that the mobile battery 122 attached to the electric motorcycle 110 is not a mobile battery 122 compatible with the electric motorcycle 110. In order to restore the performance of the electric motorcycle 110, the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110 replaces the mobile battery 122 attached to the electric motorcycle 110 with a mobile battery 122 compatible with the electric motorcycle 110. As a result, a specific mobile battery 122 and a specific electric motorcycle 110 can be managed in association with each other.

[0060] By managing the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 in association with each other, for example, the battery management system 100 can more accurately calculate the usage fee for the sharing service. Also, the algorithm by which the battery management system 100 calculates the usage fee for the sharing service can be simplified. Furthermore, the battery management system 100 can more accurately detect inappropriate use of the mobile battery 122. Also, the algorithm by which the battery management system 100 detects inappropriate use of the mobile battery 122 can be simplified.

[0061] Furthermore, when various information related to the usage status of the electric motorcycle 110 is stored in the storage device of the mobile battery 122, the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are managed in association with each other, so that the various information related to the usage status of the electric motorcycle 110 can be used more effectively. Examples of the usage status of the electric motorcycle 110 include the travel distance, the history of speed fluctuations, the history of acceleration fluctuations, the history of outside air temperature fluctuations, the history of internal temperature fluctuations, and the like.

[0062] The mobile battery 122 may be configured to be detachable (sometimes referred to as freely detachable) from the electric bike 110. Details of the mobile battery 122 will be described later.

[0063] In this embodiment, the ID transmitting unit 124 stores a verification ID (sometimes simply referred to as a verification ID assigned to the electric bike 110) assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmitting unit 124. The ID transmitting unit 124 may obtain the verification ID from the verification ID writer 140. The ID transmitting unit 124 is attached to the electric bike 110, and provides the verification ID to the electric bike 110. For example, the ID transmitting unit 124 transmits the verification ID to a signal wiring (not shown) of the electric bike 110 when the electric bike 110 is started. Note that the timing at which the ID transmitting unit 124 transmits the verification ID is not limited to when the electric bike 110 is started.

[0064] The ID sending unit 124 may be configured to be detachable from the electric bike 110. Details of the ID sending unit 124 will be described later.

[0065] In this embodiment, the verification ID writer 140 writes the respective verification IDs to the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124. In one embodiment, the verification ID writer 140 acquires the verification IDs to be written to the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124 from the administrator 40. In another embodiment, the verification ID writer 140 acquires the verification IDs to be written to the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124 from the management server 180. Details of the verification ID writer 140 will be described later.

[0066] For example, when the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110 applies to use the sharing service of the mobile battery 122 provided by the battery management system 100, the management server 180 determines a matching ID to be assigned to the mobile battery 122 to be lent to the rider 20. The management server 180 may determine the matching ID taking into consideration the request of the rider 20. For example, the management server 180 obtains information indicating the request of the rider 20 regarding the matching ID via the communication terminal 22 used by the rider 20 or the administrator 40. Note that when the management server 180 assigns a corresponding matching ID to each of the corresponding electric motorcycle 110 and mobile battery 122, the management server 180 may determine the matching ID to be assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 used by the rider 20 at this stage.

[0067] Next, the management server 180 transmits the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 to the matching ID writer 140. When the management server 180 assigns a matching ID to each of the corresponding electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122, the management server 180 may transmit the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 used by the rider 20 to the matching ID writer 140.

[0068] Next, the verification ID writer 140 writes the verification ID acquired from the management server 180 to the mobile battery 122 and the ID transmission unit 124. As a result, the verification IDs of the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are written to the storage device arranged in the mobile battery 122 and the storage device arranged in the electric motorcycle 110, respectively, before the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are electrically connected. More specifically, after the rider 20 is permitted to use the mobile battery 122, the verification IDs of the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are written to the storage device arranged in the mobile battery 122 and the storage device arranged in the electric motorcycle 110, respectively, before the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are electrically connected.

[0069] In yet another embodiment, the verification ID writer 140 reads the verification ID from the ID transmission unit 124 and writes the verification ID to the mobile battery 122. In this case, the management server 180 may manage the verification ID of the mobile battery 122 and / or the ID transmission unit 124 in association with an ID for identifying the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110.

[0070] For example, the ID transmission unit 124 stores the matching ID of the ID transmission unit 124. The matching ID writer 140 then reads the matching ID of the ID transmission unit 124 from the ID transmission unit 124, and writes the matching ID to the mobile battery 122 as the matching ID of the mobile battery 122. For example, the ID transmission unit 124 stores the matching ID of the ID transmission unit 124 and the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 used in the electric motorcycle 110 to which the ID transmission unit 124 is attached. The matching ID writer 140 then reads the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 from the ID transmission unit 124, and writes the matching ID to the mobile battery 122.

[0071] In this embodiment, the battery station 160 is configured to be able to accommodate a plurality of mobile batteries 122. The battery station 160 receives (sometimes referred to as returning) a used mobile battery 122 from the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110, and provides (sometimes referred to as disbursing) a charged mobile battery 122 to the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110. The battery station 160 also charges the used mobile battery 122.

[0072] When the used mobile battery 122 is returned to the battery station 160, the battery station 160 may read the verification ID of the used mobile battery 122. Furthermore, the battery station 160 may write the above-mentioned verification ID to the used mobile battery 122 before dispensing the charged mobile battery 122 to the driver 20 who returned the used mobile battery 122. This allows the verification ID of the mobile battery 122 to be inherited. Details of the battery station 160 will be described later.

[0073] In this embodiment, the management server 180 manages one or more mobile batteries 122. For example, the management server 180 manages the status of each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. The management server 180 may manage the return and disbursement of each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. The management server 180 may manage the verification ID of each of the one or more mobile batteries 122.

[0074] The management server 180 may manage one or more electric bikes 110. For example, the management server 180 manages the verification IDs of the one or more electric bikes 110.

[0075] The management server 180 may manage one or more battery stations 160. For example, the management server 180 manages the state of each of the one or more battery stations 160. The management server 180 may manage at least one of the reception and dispensation of the mobile battery 122 by each of the one or more battery stations 160. Details of the management server 180 will be described later.

[0076] The rider 20 may be an example of a user of the battery management system 100. The administrator 40 may be an example of a user of the battery management system 100. The electric motorcycle 110 may be an example of a power consumption device that consumes power. The mobile battery 122 may be an example of a power supply device that supplies power. The electric motorcycle 110 may be an example of a control device. The mobile battery 122 may be an example of a control device. The ID transmission unit 124 may be an example of a control device.

[0077] The matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 may be an example of first identification information. The matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 may be an example of second identification information. The storage device arranged in the mobile battery 122 may be an example of the first storage device. The storage device arranged in the electric bike 110 may be an example of the second storage device. The storage device arranged in the ID transmission unit 124 may be an example of the second storage device.

[0078] [An example of another embodiment] In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 has been described in detail using the electric motorcycle 110 as an example of the power consumption device that consumes power. However, the power consumption device is not limited to the electric motorcycle 110. In other embodiments, the power consumption device may be a moving body powered by an electric motor, or may be a stationary power storage device. The power consumption device may be a charging device that supplies power from at least one mobile battery 122 attached to the power consumption device to another storage battery connected to the power consumption device, and charges the other storage battery.

[0079] Examples of the mobile body include automobiles, motorcycles, standing vehicles having a power unit, ships, aircraft, etc. Examples of the automobile include gasoline cars, diesel cars, electric cars, fuel cell cars, hybrid cars, small commuters, electric carts, etc. Examples of the motorcycle include motorbikes, three-wheeled bikes, electric bicycles, etc. Examples of the ship include ships, hovercraft, jet skis, submarines, submersible boats, underwater scooters, etc. Examples of the aircraft include airplanes, airships or balloons, balloons, helicopters, drones, etc.

[0080] In this embodiment, the outline of the battery management system 100 has been described by taking as an example a case where the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 is stored in any storage device (not shown) arranged in the ID transmission unit 124. However, the battery management system 100 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the verification ID assigned to the ID transmission unit 124 may be stored in any storage device (not shown) arranged in the ID transmission unit 124.

[0081] This allows the battery management system 100 to manage the electric motorcycle 110 equipped with the ID transmission unit 124 in association with the mobile battery 122. For example, even if the electric motorcycle 110 does not have a function for receiving a verification ID from the verification ID writer 140, by mounting the above-mentioned ID transmission unit 124 on the electric motorcycle 110, the battery management system 100 can manage the above-mentioned electric motorcycle 110 in association with the mobile battery 122.

[0082] In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 has been described in detail using as an example a case in which the mobile battery 122 limits the function or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 by controlling the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. However, the method of limiting the function or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 is not limited to this embodiment.

[0083] In another embodiment, the electric bike 110 limits the functions or performance of the electric bike 110. For example, the electric bike 110 determines whether or not to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. The electric bike 110 may determine whether or not to require a restriction on the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. The electric bike 110 may determine whether or not to permit the start of the electric bike 110, or may determine whether or not to require a restriction on the torque or speed of the electric bike 110.

[0084] In yet another embodiment, the ID transmission unit 124 limits the function or performance of the electric bike 110. For example, the ID transmission unit 124 determines whether or not to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. The ID transmission unit 124 may determine whether or not to require a restriction on the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. The ID transmission unit 124 may determine whether or not to permit the electric bike 110 to start, or may determine whether or not to require a restriction on the torque or speed of the electric bike 110.

[0085] In still another embodiment, (i) the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 may determine whether or not to permit the exchange of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric bike 110, and (ii) the mobile battery 122 may control the exchange of power based on the result of the above determination. For example, the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 may determine whether or not to permit the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. The electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 outputs a signal indicating whether or not to permit the supply of power to the mobile battery 122. When the mobile battery 122 receives a signal indicating that the supply of power is permitted, for example, a power supply circuit of the mobile battery 122 is activated, and the state of the mobile battery 122 becomes a state in which it is possible to supply power to the electric bike 110. On the other hand, when the mobile battery 122 receives a signal indicating that power supply is prohibited or restricted, for example, the power supply circuit of the mobile battery 122 is activated, and the state of the mobile battery 122 becomes a state in which power supply to the electric motorcycle 110 is prohibited or restricted.

[0086] In this embodiment, the outline of the battery management system 100 has been described by taking as an example a case in which the mobile battery 122 compares a comparison ID stored in the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 with a comparison ID stored in the mobile battery 122. However, the battery management system 100 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the electric motorcycle 110 may perform the above-mentioned comparison process. In still other embodiments, the ID transmission unit 124 may perform the above-mentioned comparison process.

[0087] The electric bike 110 or a component attached to the electric bike 110 may be an example of an electric power device. An example of a component attached to the electric bike 110 is the ID transmission unit 124. A power consumption device that consumes power may be an example of a power device. For example, a power device consumes power supplied from a power supply device that supplies power.

[0088] For example, the power device exchanges power with a power storage device that stores power. This allows the power device to provide power to the power storage device and / or the power device to receive power from the power storage device between the power device and the power storage device.

[0089] In one embodiment, the power device receives power from the power storage device. The power device may consume the power supplied from the power storage device. For example, the electric bike 110 receives power from the mobile battery 122. The electric bike 110 moves by consuming the power supplied from the mobile battery 122. The power device may store the power supplied from the power storage device. For example, when power is exchanged between two mobile batteries 122, one mobile battery 122 receives power from the other mobile battery 122 and stores the power.

[0090] In another embodiment, the power device provides power to the power storage device. For example, a charging device (not shown) that charges the mobile battery 122 supplies power to the mobile battery 122 to be charged. The charging device supplies, for example, power received from a power grid to the mobile battery 122 to be charged. The charging device may supply power stored in a power storage device other than the mobile battery 122 to be charged to the mobile battery 122 to be charged. The power storage device may be a mobile battery 122 other than the mobile battery 122 to be charged. The charging device may be an example of a power device.

[0091] The mobile battery 122 may be an example of a power storage device electrically connected to a power device. In one embodiment, the power storage device supplies power to the power device. The power storage device may be an example of a power supply device that supplies power to the power device or the power consumption device. Another example of the power supply device is a power generation device that generates power. In another embodiment, the power storage device receives power from the power device.

[0092] In this embodiment, the battery management system 100 has been described in detail by taking as an example a case in which the electric power device is the electric motorcycle 110. However, the electric power device is not limited to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0093] In another embodiment, the power device may be a mobile body using an electric motor as a power source, or may be a stationary power storage device. The power device may be a charging device that supplies power from at least one mobile battery 122 attached to the power device to another storage battery connected to the power device and charges the other storage battery. The other storage battery may be another mobile battery 122 different from the at least one mobile battery. The power device may be a charging device that charges the mobile battery 122.

[0094] In this embodiment, the details of the battery management system 100 are described using as an example a case in which a mobile battery 122, which is an example of a power storage device, supplies power to an electric motorcycle 110, which is an example of a power device, and the mobile battery 122 controls the exchange of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110.

[0095] Specifically, in this embodiment, the mobile battery 122 determines whether to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, and determines whether to restrict power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, thereby determining whether to prohibit or restrict the transfer of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110, or to permit the transfer of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110. However, the method of controlling the transfer of power between the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 in the battery management system 100 is not limited to this embodiment.

[0096] In another embodiment, the power device may supply power to the power storage device, and the power device or the power storage device may control the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device. For example, the power device or the power storage device controls the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device by determining to prohibit or limit the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device. For example, the power device or the power storage device controls the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device by determining to permit the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device. For example, the power device or the power storage device controls the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device by determining whether or not it is necessary to limit the transfer of power between the power storage device and the power device.

[0099] In the information processing device of the general configuration, the data processing device or storage device may store the software or program. The software or program is executed by a processor to cause the information processing device to perform the operation defined by the software or program. The software or program may be stored in a non-transitory computer-readable recording medium. The software or program may be a program for causing a computer to function as the battery management system 100 or a part thereof. The software or program may be a program for causing a computer to execute information processing in the battery management system 100 or a part thereof.

[0100] The information processing may be information processing related to a control method for controlling a power supply device that supplies power to a power consumption device that consumes power. The control method may, for example, include a first identification information acquisition step of acquiring first identification information that is identification information for identifying the power supply device. The control method may, for example, include a second identification information acquisition step of acquiring second identification information that is identification information for identifying the power consumption device.

[0101] In one embodiment, the control method includes a decision step of (i) deciding to prohibit or limit power supply from the power supply device to the power consumption device, (ii) deciding to output an identification abnormality signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information do not match, or (iii) deciding not to output an identification normal signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information match, when the first identification information acquired in the first identification information acquisition step and the second identification information acquired in the second identification information acquisition step match. In another embodiment, the control method includes a decision step of (iv) deciding to permit power supply from the power supply device to the power consumption device, (v) deciding not to output an identification abnormality signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information do not match, or (vi) deciding to output an identification normal signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information match, when the first identification information acquired in the first identification information acquisition step and the second identification information acquired in the second identification information acquisition step match.

[0102] The information processing may be information processing related to a control method for controlling a power storage device electrically connected to a power device. The control method may, for example, have a first identification information acquisition step of acquiring first identification information that is identification information for identifying the power storage device. The control method may, for example, have a second identification information acquisition step of acquiring second identification information that is identification information for identifying the power device.

[0103] In one embodiment, the control method includes a decision step of (i) deciding to prohibit or limit the exchange of power between the power storage device and the power device, (ii) deciding to output an identification abnormality signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information do not match, or (iii) deciding not to output an identification normal signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information match, when the first identification information acquired in the first identification information acquisition step and the second identification information acquired in the second identification information acquisition step match. In another embodiment, the control method includes a decision step of (iv) deciding to permit the exchange of power between the power storage device and the power device, (v) deciding not to output an identification abnormality signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information do not match, or (vi) deciding to output an identification normal signal indicating that the first identification information and the second identification information match, when the first identification information acquired in the first identification information acquisition step and the second identification information acquired in the second identification information acquisition step match.

[0104] 2 shows an example of the internal configuration of the electric motorcycle 110. In this embodiment, the electric motorcycle 110 includes a battery housing 220, a power connector 222, a communication connector 224, a transmission unit housing 240, a power connector 242, a communication connector 244, a power wiring 252, a signal wiring 254, a BMS 262, an ECU 264, a power control circuit 270, and a motor 280.

[0105] In this embodiment, the battery storage section 220 stores the mobile battery 122. A power connector 222 and a communication connector 224 are arranged inside the battery storage section 220. The battery storage section 220 may be configured to be able to store a plurality of mobile batteries 122. In this case, the battery storage section 220 may have a number of power connectors 222 and communication connectors 224 arranged therein corresponding to the number of mobile batteries 122 that can be stored.

[0106] In this embodiment, the power connector 222 is electrically connected to the power connector of the mobile battery 122. The power supply method between the power connector 222 and the mobile battery 122 may be a wired power supply method or a wireless power supply method. The power connector 222 receives, for example, power supplied from the mobile battery 122. The power connector 222 may supply power generated by the electric motorcycle 110 (for example, regenerative power) to the mobile battery 122.

[0107] In this embodiment, the communication connector 224 is communicatively connected to the communication connector of the mobile battery 122. The communication method between the communication connector 224 and the mobile battery 122 may be a wired communication method or a wireless communication method. This allows the matching ID of at least one of the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122 to be transmitted and received between the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122. As described above, the matching ID of the electric motorcycle 110 may be a matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or a matching ID assigned to the ID transmission unit 124.

[0108] In this embodiment, the transmission unit accommodating section 240 accommodates the ID transmission unit 124. Inside the ID transmission unit 124, a power connector 242 and a communication connector 244 are arranged.

[0109] In this embodiment, the power connector 242 is electrically connected to the ID sending unit 124 and supplies power to the ID sending unit 124. The power supply method between the power connector 242 and the ID sending unit 124 may be a wired power supply method or a wireless power supply method.

[0110] In this embodiment, the communication connector 244 is communicatively connected to the communication connector of the ID transmission unit 124. The communication method between the communication connector 244 and the ID transmission unit 124 may be a wired communication method or a wireless communication method. This allows each part of the electric motorcycle 110 to obtain the verification ID stored in the ID transmission unit 124.

[0111] In this embodiment, the power wiring 252 receives power from the mobile battery 122 via the power connector 222 and supplies the power to each component of the electric motorcycle 110. At least one of the power, voltage, and current supplied from the power connector 222 to the power wiring 252 may be adjusted by a power control circuit 270. The power wiring 252 may receive regenerative power generated by the motor 280 and supply the power to the mobile battery 122 via the power connector 222.

[0112] In this embodiment, the signal wiring 254 transmits information between each component of the electric motorcycle 110. The signal wiring 254 may be a transmission path for wired communication, a transmission path for wireless communication, or a combination of a transmission path for wireless communication and a transmission path for wired communication. The signal wiring 254 may receive data indicating the verification ID transmitted by the ID transmission unit 124 via the communication connector 244. This allows, for example, at least one of the BMS 262 and the ECU 264 to obtain the above-mentioned verification ID.

[0113] In this embodiment, the BMS 262 may be a battery management system for managing the mobile battery 122 attached to the electric motorcycle 110. The BMS 262 may control the mobile battery 122 connected to the communication connector 224 via the communication connector 224. For example, the BMS 262 may control the mobile battery 122 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The BMS 262 may transmit a control signal to the mobile battery 122 for controlling at least one of the magnitudes of the output power, the output power amount, the output voltage, and the output current of the mobile battery 122. Note that in another embodiment, the BMS 262 may control the operation of the power control circuit 270 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0114] The BMS 262 may monitor the state of the mobile battery 122 connected to the communication connector 224 via the communication connector 224. For example, the BMS 262 acquires information indicating the state of the mobile battery 122. The BMS 262 may transmit the information indicating the state of the mobile battery 122 to the ECU 264 via the signal wiring 254.

[0115] In this embodiment, the ECU 264 may be an electronic control unit for controlling the operation of the electric motorcycle 110. For example, the ECU 264 may control the BMS 262 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The ECU 264 may control the power control circuit 270 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the motor 280.

[0116] In this embodiment, the power control circuit 270 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the power wiring 252. The power control circuit 270 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the power wiring 252 based on, for example, an instruction from the BMS 262. The power control circuit 270 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the motor 280. The power control circuit 270 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the motor 280 based on, for example, an instruction from the ECU 264.

[0117] In this embodiment, the motor 280 consumes power supplied from the mobile battery 122 to move the electric bike 110. The motor 280 may be an example of a power consuming device.

[0118] [An example of another embodiment] In the present embodiment, the details of one example of the electric motorcycle 110 have been described by taking as an example a case in which the electric motorcycle 110 is equipped with the BMS 262, the ECU 264, and the power control circuit 270 separately. However, the electric motorcycle 110 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, at least two of the BMS 262, the ECU 264, and the power control circuit 270 may be manufactured as a single unit.

[0119] 3 illustrates an example of the internal configuration of the BMS 262. In this embodiment, the BMS 262 includes a battery detection unit 322, an ID transfer unit 324, a battery monitoring unit 332, and a battery control unit 334.

[0120] In this embodiment, the battery detection unit 322 detects that the mobile battery 122 and the electric motorcycle 110 are electrically connected. For example, the battery detection unit 322 detects that the mobile battery 122 and the power connector 222 are electrically connected.

[0121] In this embodiment, the ID transfer unit 324 acquires the matching ID that the ID transmission unit 124 has transmitted to the signal wiring 254. The ID transfer unit 324 transfers the matching ID of the ID transmission unit 124 to the mobile battery 122. Note that in another embodiment, the ID transfer unit 324 acquires the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 from the mobile battery 122. The ID transmission unit 124 transfers the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 to the ECU 264 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0122] In this embodiment, the battery monitoring unit 332 monitors the state of the mobile battery 122. For example, the battery monitoring unit 332 acquires various information indicating the state of the mobile battery 122 from the mobile battery 122. Examples of the state of the mobile battery 122 include the current flow, charging rate, and deterioration rate of the mobile battery 122, as well as the voltage and temperature of each of the multiple cells included in the mobile battery 122.

[0123] The battery monitoring unit 332 may acquire information indicating the total voltage of the mobile battery 122 as the state of the mobile battery 122. The battery monitoring unit 332 may acquire information indicating the presence or absence of an error detected by the mobile battery 122 as the state of the mobile battery 122. The battery monitoring unit 332 may acquire information indicating the content of an error detected by the mobile battery 122 as the state of the mobile battery 122.

[0124] In this embodiment, the battery control unit 334 controls the mobile battery 122. For example, the battery control unit 334 controls the mobile battery 122 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The battery control unit 334 may transmit a control signal to the mobile battery 122 to control at least one of the magnitudes of the output power, the output power amount, the output voltage, and the output current of the mobile battery 122.

[0125] 4 shows an example of the internal configuration of the mobile battery 122. In this embodiment, the mobile battery 122 includes a housing 410, and a power connector 412 and a communication connector 414 arranged in the housing 410. The power connector 412 may have a positive terminal 422 and a negative terminal 424. In this embodiment, the housing 410 includes a power storage cell unit 430, a power control circuit 442, a monitoring circuit 444, a controller 452, and a memory 454.

[0126] In this embodiment, the housing 410 accommodates each component of the mobile battery 122. In this embodiment, the power connector 412 is electrically connected to the power connector 222 of the electric motorcycle 110. The positive electrode terminal 422 is electrically connected to the positive electrode of the power storage cell unit 430. The negative electrode terminal 424 is electrically connected to the negative electrode of the power storage cell unit 430. In this embodiment, the communication connector 414 is communicatively connected to the communication connector 224 of the electric motorcycle 110.

[0127] As described above, the mobile battery 122 may be accommodated in the battery station 160. When the mobile battery 122 is accommodated in the battery station 160, the power connector 412 may be electrically connected to the power connector of the battery station 160. The communication connector 414 may be communicatively connected to the communication connector of the battery station 160. In this case, the power supply method may be a wired power supply method or a wireless power supply method. In addition, the communication method may be a wired communication method or a wireless communication method.

[0128] In this embodiment, the storage cell unit 430 stores electric energy. The storage cell unit 430 may include a plurality of storage cells. At least some of the plurality of storage cells may be connected in series.

[0129] In this embodiment, the power control circuit 442 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the outside. The power control circuit 442 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the outside in accordance with an instruction from the controller 452.

[0130] The power control circuit 442 may include various elements such as a relay, a switch, a resistor, a variable resistor, a coil, a capacitor, etc. The power control circuit 442 may include a DC / DC converter. The DC / DC converter may be a unidirectional DC / DC converter or a bidirectional DC / DC converter.

[0131] In one embodiment, when the controller 452 determines to prohibit the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, the power control circuit 442 stops the power supply from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412. For example, the power control circuit 442 stops the power supply from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412 by opening a relay or a switch included in the power control circuit 442.

[0132] When the controller 452 determines to prohibit the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, the controller 452 may send a command to stop the use of power in the electric bike 110 to the BMS 262, the ECU 264, or the power control circuit 270 of the electric bike 110 via the communication connector 414. This causes the electric bike 110 to stop using power. As a result, the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 is prohibited. The procedure by which the electric bike 110 stops using power may be determined with safety in mind.

[0133] In another embodiment, when the controller 452 determines to limit the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, the power control circuit 442 reduces the amount of power supplied from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412. For example, the power control circuit 442 controls a variable resistor or a DC / DC converter to reduce the amount of power supplied from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412.

[0134] When the controller 452 determines to limit the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, the controller 452 may send a command to reduce the amount of power usage in the electric bike 110 to the BMS 262, the ECU 264, or the power control circuit 270 of the electric bike 110 via the communication connector 414. This reduces the amount of power usage in the electric bike 110. As a result, the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 is limited. The procedure for reducing the amount of power usage in the electric bike 110 may be determined with safety in mind.

[0135] In another embodiment, when the controller 452 determines to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, the power control circuit 442 starts power supply from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412. For example, the power control circuit 442 starts power supply from the power storage cell unit 430 to the power connector 412 by closing a relay or a switch included in the power control circuit 442.

[0136] When the controller 452 determines to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, the controller 452 may send a command to start or resume power use in the electric bike 110 to the BMS 262, the ECU 264, or the power control circuit 270 of the electric bike 110 via the communication connector 414. The electric bike 110 starts or resumes power use. As a result, power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 is permitted. The procedure for the electric bike 110 to start or resume power use may be determined taking safety into consideration.

[0137] The power control circuit 442 may include various protection circuits for preventing damage to the power storage cell unit 430. Examples of the protection circuits include an overcharge protection circuit, an overdischarge protection circuit, and an overcurrent protection circuit.

[0138] In this embodiment, the power control circuit 442 is disposed between the positive electrode of the power storage cell unit 430 and the positive electrode terminal 422. However, the power control circuit 442 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the power control circuit 442 may be disposed between the negative electrode of the power storage cell unit 430 and the negative electrode terminal 424.

[0139] In this embodiment, the monitoring circuit 444 monitors the state of the power storage cell unit 430. Examples of the state of the power storage cell unit 430 include the output voltage, output current, charging rate, and deterioration rate of the power storage cell unit 430, as well as the voltage and temperature of each of the multiple power storage cells that constitute the power storage cell unit 430. The monitoring circuit 444 may transmit information indicating the state of the power storage cell unit 430 to the controller 452.

[0140] The monitoring circuit 444 may detect that the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected. The monitoring circuit 444 may send a signal indicating that the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected to the controller 452.

[0141] In this embodiment, the controller 452 is a battery management unit (BMU) that manages the mobile battery 122. For example, the controller 452 manages a verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. More specifically, the controller 452 obtains the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the verification ID writer 140 or the battery station 160. The controller 452 stores the verification ID in the memory 454.

[0142] The controller 452 may control the operation of the mobile battery 122. For example, the controller 452 controls the charging and discharging of the power storage cell unit 430. More specifically, the controller 452 compares a matching ID stored in the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 with a matching ID stored in the mobile battery 122. The controller 452 may control the charging and discharging of the power storage cell unit 430 based on the result of the above-mentioned comparison process.

[0143] In one embodiment, the controller 452 controls the power control circuit 442 to control charging and discharging of the power storage cell unit 430. In another embodiment, the controller 452 transmits information indicating the result of the above-mentioned checking process to the electric motorcycle 110. The BMS 262 or ECU 264 of the electric motorcycle 110 controls the power control circuit 270 based on the information from the controller 452, thereby controlling charging and discharging of the power storage cell unit 430. Details of the controller 452 will be described later.

[0144] In this embodiment, the memory 454 stores a matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. When the controller 452 receives an erasure instruction from the battery station 160, the matching ID stored in the memory 454 may be erased.

[0145] The power storage cell unit 430 may be an example of a power storage section. The controller 452 may be an example of a control device. The memory 454 may be an example of a first storage device.

[0146] 5 shows an example of an internal configuration of the controller 452. In this embodiment, the controller 452 includes an ID management unit 520, a matching unit 530, and a power control unit 542.

[0147] In this embodiment, the ID management unit 520 manages the matching ID. For example, the ID management unit 520 acquires the matching ID from outside the mobile battery 122 via the communication connector 414. The matching ID may be a matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122, or may be a matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0148] For example, the ID management unit 520 acquires a verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. The verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 may be the same as the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0149] In one embodiment, the ID management unit 520 writes the above-mentioned matching ID to the memory 454. In response to a request from the matching unit 530, the ID management unit 520 reads out the matching ID stored in the memory 454 and outputs the read matching ID to the matching unit 530. In another embodiment, the ID management unit 520 outputs the above-mentioned matching ID to the matching unit 530 without writing it to the memory 454.

[0150] The ID management unit 520 may manage the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. For example, when the mobile battery 122 is connected to the matching ID writer 140 or the battery station 160 so as to be able to communicate with the mobile battery 122, the ID management unit 520 acquires information indicating the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the matching ID writer 140 or the battery station 160 via the communication connector 414. The ID management unit 520 writes the above information to the memory 454.

[0151] The ID management unit 520 may manage the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. For example, when the mobile battery 122 is connected to the electric bike 110 so as to be able to communicate with the electric bike 110, the ID management unit 520 acquires information indicating the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 from the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 via the communication connector 414. The ID management unit 520 writes the above information to the memory 454.

[0152] The ID management unit 520 may output the matching ID stored in the memory 454 to the outside of the mobile battery 122 via the communication connector 414. For example, the ID management unit 520 reads out the matching ID stored in the memory 454 in response to a request from the electric motorcycle 110 or the battery station 160, and outputs the read matching ID to the source of the request.

[0153] The ID management unit 520 may erase the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. For example, the ID management unit 520 erases the matching ID stored in the memory 454 in response to a request from the battery station 160.

[0154] The ID management unit 520 may manage information indicating a correspondence between a matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and a matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. The information indicating the above-mentioned correspondence may be (i) information indicating a matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 that is associated with a matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122, or (ii) information for identifying an algorithm for matching the above-mentioned matching IDs.

[0155] The ID management unit 520 acquires information indicating the above-mentioned correspondence relationship from, for example, the matching ID writer 140 or the battery station 160. The ID management unit 520 may write the above-mentioned information to the memory 454. In response to a request from the matching unit 530, the ID management unit 520 may read out the information indicating the above-mentioned correspondence relationship stored in the memory 454 and output the read out information to the matching unit 530. Note that, in response to a request from the electric motorcycle 110 or the battery station 160, the ID management unit 520 may read out the information indicating the above-mentioned correspondence relationship stored in the memory 454 and output the read out information to the source of the request.

[0156] The ID management unit 520 may not execute at least a part of the information processing described above. For example, the ID management unit 520 may not write information indicating the verification ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 to the memory 454. Similarly, the ID management unit 520 may not write information indicating the above-mentioned correspondence to the memory 454.

[0157] [Overview of matching process] In this embodiment, the matching unit 530 matches the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 with the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. The matching unit 530 transmits information indicating the matching result to the power control unit 542. Examples of the information indicating the matching result include a signal indicating that the two match (sometimes referred to as a match signal), a signal indicating that the two do not match (sometimes referred to as a mismatch signal), and a signal for controlling the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 (sometimes referred to as a power supply control signal).

[0158] As described above, in this embodiment, the same or corresponding identification information is used as the matching ID. Therefore, when the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 are the same or correspond to each other, the matching unit 530 may determine that the two match.

[0159] There may also be cases where the matching unit 530 is unable to acquire at least one of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. In this case, the matching unit 530 is unable to directly match the two. However, if the matching unit 530 is unable to acquire at least one of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124, the matching unit 530 may determine that the two do not match.

[0160] For example, if the matching unit 530 cannot acquire at least one of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 within a predetermined period of time, the matching unit 530 may determine that the matching ID cannot be acquired. Examples of the predetermined period of time include (i) a period until a predetermined time has elapsed after the mobile battery 122 is attached to the electric bike 110, (ii) a period until a predetermined time has elapsed after the electric bike 110 is started, (iii) a period until a predetermined time has elapsed after the matching process is started, and (iv) a period until a predetermined time has elapsed after the process of acquiring the matching ID is started.

[0161] [Specific example of when the matching unit 530 cannot acquire the matching ID] For example, an electric motorcycle 110 that is not under the management of the battery management system 100 does not store a matching ID assigned by the battery management system 100. Also, an electric motorcycle 110 that is not under the management of the battery management system 100 may not have a function to communicate with the mobile battery 122. In such a case, even if the mobile battery 122 is attached to an electric motorcycle 110 that is not under the management of the battery management system 100, the matching unit 530 cannot obtain the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0162] Furthermore, when an operating company that operates a sharing service by the battery management system 100 and another operating company that operates a similar sharing service jointly use the battery station 160, the mobile battery 122 managed by the other operating company may not store the matching ID assigned by the battery management system 100. Similarly, for example, when the battery station 160 used for the sharing service by the battery management system 100 is also used to provide a charging service for any mobile battery 122, a single battery station 160 may house a mobile battery 122 that is under the management of the operating company of the sharing service and a mobile battery 122 that is not under the management of the operating company of the sharing service.

[0163] In this way, mobile batteries 122 that store a matching ID assigned by the battery management system 100 and mobile batteries 122 that do not store a matching ID assigned by the battery management system 100 may be distributed together. In such a case, even if a mobile battery 122 that is not under the management of the battery management system 100 is attached to the electric motorcycle 110, the matching unit 530 cannot obtain the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122.

[0164] [Example of matching process] More specifically, first, the matching unit 530 acquires the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. The matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 is stored, for example, in the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122. The matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 is stored, for example, in a storage device arranged in the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0165] Therefore, for example, the matching unit 530 refers to the memory 454 and acquires the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122. When the memory 454 stores a single matching ID, the matching unit 530 may acquire the matching ID stored in the memory 454 as the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122.

[0166] Also, for example, the matching unit 530 refers to a storage device arranged in the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 to acquire a matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. If the storage device stores a single matching ID, the matching unit 530 may acquire the matching ID stored in the storage device as the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0167] For example, when the matching unit 530 detects that the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected, it acquires at least one of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0168] In one embodiment, when the battery detection unit 322 of the electric bike 110 detects that the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected, the ID transfer unit 324 of the electric bike 110 transmits the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 to the controller 452. In another embodiment, when the monitoring circuit 444 detects that the electric bike 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected, the ID management unit 520 reads out the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the memory 454.

[0169] The timing of the above process of obtaining the matching ID is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the process of obtaining the matching ID may be performed during the start-up sequence of the electric motorcycle 110, or may be performed at any time after the electric motorcycle 110 is started.

[0170] Next, the matching unit 530 compares the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 with the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124. If the two do not match, the matching unit 530 (i) decides to prohibit or limit the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, (ii) decides to output a mismatch signal, or (iii) decides not to output a match signal. On the other hand, if the two match, the matching unit 530 (iv) decides to permit the supply of power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, (v) decides not to output a mismatch signal, or (vi) decides to output a match signal.

[0171] (Exception handling) Even if the two do not match, the collation unit 530 may exceptionally determine the above item (iv), (v) or (vi). Similarly, even if the two match, the collation unit 530 may exceptionally determine the above item (i), (ii) or (iii).

[0172] According to one embodiment, even if the two do not match, if (a) the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 meets the first condition and (b) the matching unit 530 is unable to obtain the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 within a predetermined period of time, the matching unit 530 may determine the above item (iv), (v) or (vi).

[0173] Examples of the first condition include a condition that the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 is a predetermined value or symbol, a condition that the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 includes a predetermined value or symbol, etc. The predetermined value or symbol may be a character string or a numeric value.

[0174] The predetermined value or symbol may be an initial value assigned to the mobile battery 122 when the mobile battery 122 is manufactured or sold. The above-mentioned predetermined value or symbol may be a value or symbol indicating that it is under the management of the battery management system 100. The above-mentioned predetermined value or symbol may be a value or symbol indicating that it is not under the management of the battery management system 100. The predetermined value or symbol may be data indicating that a matching ID is not stored.

[0175] For example, a different initial value is assigned to each mobile battery 122. An initial value selected from one or more predetermined initial values may be assigned to each of one or more mobile batteries 122. An initial value assigned to each manufacturer or seller of the mobile battery 122 may be used. An initial value assigned to each model of the mobile battery 122 may be used.

[0176] The matching unit 530 may obtain a list of values or symbols used as initial values of the mobile battery 122 from an external device (e.g., the management server 180). The matching unit 530 may obtain information indicating a value or symbol indicating that the mobile battery 122 is under the management of the battery management system 100 from the external device. The matching unit 530 may obtain a list of identification information of the mobile battery 122 under the management of the battery management system 100 from the external device. This allows the matching unit 530 to determine whether the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 is a predetermined value or symbol.

[0177] In another embodiment, when (a) the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 meets the first condition and (c) the matching unit 530 is able to obtain the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 within a predetermined period of time, the matching unit 530 may determine item (i), (ii) or (iii) above, regardless of whether the two match.

[0178] In other embodiments, when (d) the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 does not meet the first condition, and (b) the matching unit 530 is unable to obtain the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 within a predetermined period of time, the matching unit 530 may determine item (i), (ii) or (iii) above, regardless of whether the two match.

[0179] In still other embodiments, even if the two match, if (a) the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 meets the first condition, and (c) the matching unit 530 is able to obtain the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID sending unit 124 within a predetermined period, then the above item (i), (ii) or (iii) may be determined.

[0180] The collation unit 530 may output various signals based on the above collation result. For example, if the two match, the collation unit 530 outputs a match signal. In this case, the collation unit 530 may output a power supply control signal indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. On the other hand, if the two do not match, the collation unit 530 outputs a mismatch signal. The collation unit 530 may output a power supply control signal indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0181] In this embodiment, the power control unit 542 obtains information indicating the matching result from the matching unit 530. The power control unit 542 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 based on the matching result of the matching unit 530. The power control unit 542 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 by controlling, for example, the power control circuit 442. The power control unit 542 may control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110 by controlling the power control circuit 270 via the BMS 262.

[0182] When the power control unit 542 receives a match signal from the comparison unit 530, the power control unit 542 controls the power control circuit 442 to start supplying power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. The same may be true when the power control unit 542 receives a power supply control signal from the comparison unit 530 indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0183] On the other hand, when the power control unit 542 receives a mismatch signal from the comparison unit 530, the power control unit 542 controls the power control circuit 442 to stop the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110 or to reduce the power or amount of power supplied. The same may be true when the power control unit 542 receives a power supply control signal from the comparison unit 530 indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110.

[0184] The ID management unit 520 may be an example of a first identification information acquisition unit or a second identification information acquisition unit. The collation unit 530 may be an example of a control device. The mismatch signal may be an example of an identification abnormality signal. The match signal may be an example of an identification normal signal.

[0185] [An example of another embodiment] In this embodiment, the details of one example of the controller 452 have been described by taking as an example a case where, when the monitoring circuit 444 detects that the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected, the ID management unit 520 of the controller 452 reads out the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the memory 454. However, the controller 452 is not limited to this embodiment.

[0186] In another embodiment, when the monitoring circuit 444 detects that the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122 are electrically connected, the ID management unit 520 of the controller 452 may obtain the matching ID stored in the storage device arranged in the ID transmission unit 124 from the storage device. The ID management unit 520 may write the matching ID stored in the ID transmission unit 124 to the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122. The ID management unit 520 may also execute a process for transmitting the matching ID written in the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122 to the management server 180. For example, the ID management unit 520 transmits a command to a device having a communication function (for example, the electric motorcycle 110, the mobile battery 122, the ID transmission unit 124, the communication terminal 22 of the driver 20, etc.) to transmit the above-mentioned matching ID to the management server 180.

[0187] In the present embodiment, the details of the battery management system 100 have been described by taking as an example a case in which the controller 452 of the mobile battery 122 executes the above-mentioned checking process. However, the battery management system 100 is not limited to the present embodiment.

[0188] In another embodiment, the battery station 160 may execute information processing similar to the matching process in the controller 452. In this case, the battery station 160 is configured to be able to communicate with the electric bike 110 and / or the ID transmission unit 124. The battery station 160 is also configured to be able to communicate with the mobile battery 122. The battery station 160 may transmit to the management server 180 information indicating the matching result, information acquired by the battery station 160 from the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124, and / or information acquired by the battery station 160 from the mobile battery 122.

[0189] 6 shows an example of the internal configuration of the ID sending unit 124. In this embodiment, the ID sending unit 124 includes a communication connector 614, a power source 612, an ID management section 622, and a memory 624.

[0190] In this embodiment, the power source 612 supplies power to each component of the ID sending unit 124. The power source 612 is electrically connected to the power connector 242 and may receive power from the electric bike 110 via the power connector 242. The power source 612 may include a storage battery.

[0191] In this embodiment, the communication connector 614 is communicatively connected to the communication connector 244 of the electric bike 110. This allows the ID transmission unit 124 to transmit the verification ID stored in the memory 624 to the signal wiring 254 of the electric bike 110.

[0192] In this embodiment, the ID management unit 622 manages the verification ID. For example, the ID management unit 622 acquires the verification ID. For example, the ID management unit 622 acquires the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 from the verification ID writer 140. The ID management unit 622 may write the verification ID to the memory 624. The ID management unit 622 reads out the verification ID stored in the memory 624, and transmits the read verification ID to the signal wiring 254 of the electric motorcycle 110 via the communication connector 614. The ID management unit 622 may transmit the verification ID stored in the memory 624 to the signal wiring 254 of the electric motorcycle 110 when the electric motorcycle 110 is started.

[0193] In this embodiment, the memory 624 stores a verification ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 .

[0194] The ID management unit 622 may be an example of a second identification information acquisition unit. The memory 624 may be an example of a second storage device.

[0195] 7 shows an example of the internal configuration of the verification ID writer 140. In this embodiment, the verification ID writer 140 includes an input unit 722, a communication unit 724, and an ID writing unit 730.

[0196] In this embodiment, the input unit 722 accepts input from the administrator 40. For example, the input unit 722 accepts input of data indicating at least one of the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0197] The input unit 722 may include any input device, such as a keyboard, a touch panel, a pointing device, a microphone, a camera, a voice input system, or a gesture input system.

[0198] In this embodiment, the communication unit 724 transmits and receives information to and from the management server 180. The communication unit 724 may obtain data indicating at least one of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 from the management server 180.

[0199] In this embodiment, the ID writing unit 730 outputs the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 to the mobile battery 122. As a result, the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 is written to the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122. The ID writing unit 730 outputs the verification ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 to the ID sending unit 124. As a result, the verification ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID sending unit 124 is written to the memory 624 of the ID sending unit 124.

[0200] 8 illustrates an example of the internal configuration of the battery station 160. In this embodiment, the battery station 160 includes a battery accommodating tray 820, a charging unit 830, a control unit 840, a power wiring 852, and a signal wiring 854. In this embodiment, the battery station 160 includes a plurality of battery accommodating trays 820. Each of the plurality of battery accommodating trays 820 includes a power connector 822 and a communication connector 824. In this embodiment, the control unit 840 includes a communication control unit 842, a charging control unit 844, a battery management unit 846, and an ID management unit 848.

[0201] In this embodiment, the battery accommodating tray 820 accommodates the mobile battery 122. A single battery accommodating tray 820 may accommodate a single mobile battery 122, or multiple mobile batteries 122.

[0202] In this embodiment, the power connector 822 is electrically connected to, for example, the power connector 412 of the mobile battery 122. The power supply method may be a wired power supply method or a wireless power supply method.

[0203] In this embodiment, the communication connector 824 is communicatively connected to, for example, the communication connector 414 of the mobile battery 122. The communication method may be a wired communication method or a wireless communication method.

[0204] In this embodiment, the charging unit 830 supplies power to the mobile battery 122 housed in the battery housing tray 820 to charge the mobile battery 122. The charging unit 830 may charge the mobile battery 122 in accordance with an instruction from the control unit 840.

[0205] In this embodiment, the control unit 840 controls the operation of the battery station 160. For example, the communication control unit 842 controls the communication between the battery station 160 and an external information processing device. The charging control unit 844 controls the charging operation of the charging unit 830. The charging control unit 844 may control the charging of the mobile battery 122 based on information acquired from the mobile battery 122 by the battery management unit 846. The charging control unit 844 may control the charging of the mobile battery 122 according to an instruction from the management server 180. The battery management unit 846 monitors the state of one or more mobile batteries 122 housed in each of the multiple battery housing trays 820. The battery management unit 846 may manage the return of the mobile battery 122. The battery management unit 846 may manage the dispensing of the mobile battery 122.

[0206] In this embodiment, the ID management unit 848 manages the matching ID. For example, when the mobile battery 122 is returned from the driver 20, the ID management unit 848 acquires the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery from the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122. The ID management unit 848 also writes the above matching ID into the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122 that is paid out to the driver 20. The ID management unit 848 may erase the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery that is stored in the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122.

[0207] 9 illustrates an example of the internal configuration of the management server 180. In this embodiment, the management server 180 includes a user request processing unit 920, a battery management unit 930, a station management unit 940, a matching ID management unit 950, a settlement unit 960, and a management information storage unit 970. In this embodiment, the management information storage unit 970 includes a user information storage unit 972, a battery information storage unit 974, a station information storage unit 976, and an ID information storage unit 978.

[0208] In this embodiment, the user request processing unit 920 processes requests from the driver 20. Examples of the requests include a sharing service application request, a mobile battery 122 rental request, a mobile battery 122 reservation request, and the like.

[0209] When the user request processing unit 920 receives an application request for the sharing service, the user request processing unit 920 determines a matching ID to be assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 used by the rider 20. The user request processing unit 920 also determines the mobile battery 122 to be lent to the rider 20. The user request processing unit 920 may transmit the determined matching ID to the matching ID writer 140. As a result, the matching ID is written to the storage device arranged in each of the electric motorcycle 110 used by the rider 20 and the mobile battery 122 to be lent to the rider 20.

[0210] In this embodiment, the battery management unit 930 manages each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. For example, the battery management unit 930 manages the state of each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. Examples of the state of the mobile battery 122 include a charging state, a deterioration state, a driver 20 currently using the battery, a battery station 160 in which the battery is currently stored, and an accumulated amount of charge.

[0211] In this embodiment, the station management unit 940 manages each of the one or more station management units 940. For example, the station management unit 940 manages the state of each of the one or more battery stations 160. Examples of the state of the battery station 160 include the availability of the battery storage tray 820 and the number of mobile batteries 122 that can be lent out.

[0212] In this embodiment, the matching ID management unit 950 manages matching IDs assigned to each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. The matching ID management unit 950 may manage matching IDs assigned to each of the one or more electric bikes 110.

[0213] In this embodiment, the settlement unit 960 calculates a fee to be charged to each of the one or more drivers 20. For example, the settlement unit 960 may calculate the fee based on parameters such as the amount of electricity used and the distance traveled. The settlement unit 960 may execute a settlement process for the fee.

[0214] In this embodiment, the management information storage unit 970 stores various information. For example, the user information storage unit 972 stores various information related to each of the one or more drivers 20. The battery information storage unit 974 may store various information related to each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. The station information storage unit 976 may store various information related to each of the one or more battery stations 160. The ID information storage unit 978 may store various information related to a matching ID assigned to each of the one or more mobile batteries 122.

[0215] FIG. 10 shows an example of a data table 1000. The data table 1000 may be an example of information related to the matching ID stored in the ID information storage unit 978. In this embodiment, the data table 1000 stores a matching ID 1012, a unique ID 1014, a user ID 1016, and information 1018 indicating the validity period of the matching ID for each of one or more mobile batteries 122 in association with each other. Note that in this embodiment, in order to facilitate understanding of the battery management system 100, the details of the data table 1000 will be described using an example in which the same matching ID is assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 and the mobile battery 122.

[0216] The matching ID 1012 may be identification information assigned by the battery management system 100. A specific matching ID 1012 may be assigned to a single mobile battery 122, or a specific matching ID 1012 may be assigned to multiple mobile batteries 122. By assigning a specific matching ID 1012 to multiple mobile batteries 122, for example, the same matching ID 1012 may be assigned to multiple mobile batteries 122 used by employees of a corporation. Also, the same matching ID 1012 may be assigned to multiple mobile batteries 122 used by a family.

[0217] The unique ID 1014 may be identification information unique to each of the one or more mobile batteries 122. Therefore, even if a specific matching ID 1012 is assigned to multiple mobile batteries 122, the multiple mobile batteries 122 have different unique IDs 1014. This allows each of the one or more mobile batteries 122 to be managed individually.

[0218] The user ID 1016 may be identification information of the driver 20 who uses the mobile battery 122 to which the matching ID 1012 is assigned. When a specific mobile battery 122 is shared by a specific number of drivers 20, the identification information of the multiple drivers 20 may be recorded in the user ID 1016 field.

[0219] The information 1018 indicating the validity period of the verification ID may include information indicating the start date of the validity period. The information 1018 indicating the validity period of the verification ID may include information indicating the end date of the validity period.

[0220] FIG. 11 shows an example of a data table 1100. The data table 1100 may be an example of information related to the matching ID stored in the ID information storage unit 978. In this embodiment, the data table 1100 stores, for each of one or more mobile batteries 122, a unique ID 1112 and information 1114 indicating an update history of the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 in association with each other. This allows the history of the battery station 160 to which each mobile battery is returned to be tracked. In addition, the history of the battery station 160 from which each mobile battery is dispensed can be tracked.

[0221] Examples of the information 1114 indicating the update history of the matching ID include the matching ID recorded in the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122, information indicating the time when the matching ID was recorded, and identification information of the terminal that recorded the matching ID. Examples of the terminal that recorded the matching ID include the matching ID writer 140 and the battery station 160. Note that, when the matching ID is erased by the battery station 160, the information 1114 indicating the update history of the matching ID may include identification information of the battery station 160 that erased the matching ID and information indicating the time when the matching ID was erased.

[0222] 12 shows an example of the data table 1200. The data table 1200 may be an example of information related to the matching ID stored in the ID information storage unit 978. In this embodiment, the data table 1200 stores, for each of one or more mobile batteries 122, a unique ID 1212 and information 1214 indicating the reception history of the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 in association with each other. This allows the history of the electric motorcycle 110 to which the mobile battery 122 is attached to be tracked.

[0223] The information 1214 indicating the reception history of the verification ID may be, for example, the verification ID transmitted to the mobile battery 122, information indicating the time when the verification ID was received, identification information of the terminal that transmitted the verification ID, etc. Examples of the terminal that transmitted the verification ID include the electric motorcycle 110 and the ID transmission unit 124.

[0224] Fig. 13 shows an example of information processing in the matching unit 530. More specifically, an example of matching processing by the matching unit 530 will be described with reference to Fig. 13. According to this embodiment, when the matching processing is started, first, in step 1310 (step may be abbreviated as S), the matching unit 530 executes processing to acquire a matching ID of the mobile battery 122 from the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122.

[0225] Next, the matching unit 530 judges whether the matching ID acquired from the memory 454 is an initial value. If the matching unit 530 cannot acquire the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 within a predetermined period, the matching unit 530 may judge that the matching ID acquired from the memory 454 is an initial value.

[0226] If it is determined in S1310 that the matching ID acquired from the memory 454 is the initial value (Yes in S1310), in S1320 the matching unit 530 executes a process for acquiring the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 equipped with the mobile battery 122. The matching unit 530 also determines whether or not the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 equipped with the mobile battery 122 has been acquired. For example, the matching unit 530 determines whether or not the matching ID has been received from the ID transmission unit 124.

[0227] If it is determined in S1320 that the matching ID has been received from the ID transmission unit 124 (Yes in S1320), the matching unit 530 determines in S1352 to prohibit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. This completes the matching process. If it is determined in S1320 that the matching ID has not been received from the ID transmission unit 124 (No in S1320), the matching unit 530 determines in S1354 to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. This completes the matching process.

[0228] On the other hand, if it is determined in S1310 that the matching ID acquired from the memory 454 is not the initial value (No in S1310), in S1330 the matching unit 530 executes a process for acquiring the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 equipped with the mobile battery 122. The matching unit 530 also determines whether or not the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 equipped with the mobile battery 122 has been acquired. For example, the matching unit 530 determines whether or not the matching ID has been received from the ID transmission unit 124.

[0229] If it is determined in S1330 that the matching ID has been received from the ID transmission unit 124 (Yes in S1330), the matching unit 530 determines in S1340 whether the matching ID acquired from the memory 454 matches the matching ID from the ID transmission unit 124. If it is determined that the two matching IDs match (Yes in S1340), the matching unit 530 determines in S1354 to permit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. This completes the matching process. On the other hand, if it is determined that the two matching IDs do not match (No in S1340), the matching unit 530 determines in S1356 to prohibit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. This completes the matching process.

[0230] If it is determined in S1330 that the matching ID has not been received from the ID transmission unit 124 (No in S1330), in S1356, the matching unit 530 determines to prohibit power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110. This completes the matching process.

[0231] An example of information processing in the battery station 160 will be described with reference to Fig. 14 and Fig. 15. More specifically, an example of replacement processing of the mobile battery 122 will be described. Fig. 14 illustrates an example of information processing in the battery station 160. Fig. 15 illustrates an example of transition of a matching ID.

[0232] 14, for example, when the remaining capacity of the mobile battery 122 attached to the electric motorcycle 110 becomes low, the rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110 drives the electric motorcycle 110 to a nearby battery station 160. The rider 20 of the electric motorcycle 110 operates the battery station 160 to request an exchange of the mobile battery 122.

[0233] When the exchange process of the mobile battery 122 is started, the return process of the used mobile battery 122 is accepted. This allows the rider 20 to store the used mobile battery 122 in the battery storage tray 820. The rider 20 then removes the mobile battery 122 from the electric motorcycle 110, and stores the mobile battery 122 removed from the electric motorcycle 110 in an empty battery storage tray 820. The battery storage tray 820 to which the mobile battery 122 is returned may be selected by the rider 20 or may be specified by the control unit 840.

[0234] When the mobile battery 122 is returned to the battery station 160, in S1410, the ID management unit 848 acquires the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery from the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122. The ID management unit 848 outputs the matching ID of the returned mobile battery 122 to the battery management unit 846.

[0235] Next, in S1420, the battery management unit 846 determines whether or not the matching ID of the returned mobile battery 122 is the initial value. If the ID management unit 848 or the battery management unit 846 cannot obtain the matching ID of the returned mobile battery 122 within a predetermined period of time, the battery management unit 846 may determine that the matching ID of the returned mobile battery 122 is the initial value.

[0236] In S1420, if it is determined that the verification ID of the returned mobile battery 122 is not the initial value (No in S1420), in S1422, the battery management unit 846 determines the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed. The method of determining the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed is not particularly limited. The battery management unit 846 may determine the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed based on at least one of an instruction from the driver 20 and an instruction from the management server 180.

[0237] In one embodiment, the battery management unit 846 determines the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed from among the mobile batteries 122 whose remaining capacity is greater than a predetermined value. In another embodiment, the battery management unit 846 determines the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed according to a predetermined priority order. For example, the battery management unit 846 acquires information indicating the above priority order from the management server 180. In yet another embodiment, the battery management unit 846 acquires information indicating the mobile battery 122 that can be dispensed or the mobile battery 122 that cannot be dispensed from the management server 180. The battery management unit 846 may determine the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed from among the mobile batteries 122 that can be dispensed, or may determine the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed from among the mobile batteries 122 other than the mobile battery 122 that cannot be dispensed.

[0238] In this embodiment, for example, as described in relation to Fig. 8, when the mobile battery 122 is returned to the battery station 160, the matching ID stored in the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122 is erased. However, in other embodiments, the matching ID stored in the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122 does not need to be erased when the mobile battery 122 is returned. In this case, the matching ID of the mobile battery 122 determined to be the one to be dispensed in S1420 may be the initial value.

[0239] In S1422, the battery management unit 846 may select the mobile battery 122 whose matching ID is the initial value as the one to be dispensed, or may not select it as the one to be dispensed. In S1422, when the battery management unit 846 selects the mobile battery 122 whose matching ID is the initial value as the one to be dispensed, the battery management unit 846 may, for example, refer to a database that stores the identification information of the mobile battery 122 and the owner of the mobile battery 122 in association with each other, and identify the owner of the mobile battery 122 whose matching ID is the initial value. This allows the battery management unit 846 to know that the mobile battery 122 whose matching ID is the initial value belongs to someone else, or to track the owner of the mobile battery 122 whose matching ID is the initial value.

[0240] Next, in S1424, the ID management unit 848 executes a process for writing the verification ID acquired from the returned mobile battery 122 to the memory 454 of the mobile battery 122 to be paid out. The ID management unit 848 may execute a process for erasing the verification ID stored in the memory 454 of the returned mobile battery 122.

[0241] Thereafter, in S1430, the battery management unit 846 dispenses the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed. This completes the exchange process for the mobile battery 122.

[0242] On the other hand, if it is determined in S1420 that the verification ID of the returned mobile battery 122 is the initial value (Yes in S1420), in S1430, the battery management unit 846 dispenses the mobile battery 122 to be dispensed. This ends the exchange process of the mobile battery 122.

[0243] In S1420, if it is determined that the verification ID of the returned mobile battery 122 is the initial value, the battery management unit 846 may determine the mobile battery 122 returned by the driver 20 as the one to be paid out. This prevents the mobile battery 122 returned by the driver 20 from being exchanged for another mobile battery 122.

[0244] In this embodiment, the details of the mobile battery 122 replacement process will be described using as an example a case where the return process of the used mobile battery 122 is accepted after the replacement process of the mobile battery 122 is started. However, the replacement process of the mobile battery 122 is not limited to this embodiment. In other embodiments, the replacement process of the mobile battery 122 is started in response to the used mobile battery 122 being stored in the battery storage tray 820.

[0245] 15 shows an example of the relationship between various events occurring in the sharing service and the generation or update of a matching ID. Specifically, an example of the above relationship is described using an example where the management server 180 accepts an application request for the sharing service from a user and permits the user to use a vehicle 1522 and a mobile battery 1512. Also, an example of the above relationship is described using an example where the mobile battery 1512 is exchanged with a mobile battery 1514 housed in a battery station 160. Furthermore, an example of the above relationship is described using an example where the mobile battery 1514 issued to the user is installed in a vehicle (assumed to be vehicle 1524) different from the vehicle 1522.

[0246] Each of the mobile battery 1512 and the mobile battery 1514 may have a similar configuration to the mobile battery 122. The vehicle 1522 and the vehicle 1524 may have a similar configuration to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0247] First, when a user is permitted to use the vehicle 1522 and the mobile battery 1512, a matching ID is written to the vehicle 1522 and the mobile battery 1512 before the mobile battery 1512 is handed over to the user. As shown in Fig. 15, according to this embodiment, the same matching ID is written to the vehicle 1522 and the mobile battery 1512.

[0248] According to the present embodiment, at this point in time, the mobile battery 1514 is stored in the battery station 160 and is waiting to be dispensed. Therefore, the memory 454 of the mobile battery 1514 does not store a matching ID. In addition, since the vehicle 1524 is a different vehicle from the vehicle 1522, the vehicle 1524 is assigned a matching ID different from that of the vehicle 1522.

[0249] Next, when the mobile battery 1512 is mounted on the vehicle 1522, as described above, the matching unit 530 matches the matching ID of the mobile battery 1512 with the matching ID of the vehicle 1522. As shown in Fig. 15, according to this embodiment, the two match, and therefore the supply of power from the mobile battery 1512 to the vehicle 1522 is permitted. This allows the user to travel using the electric motorcycle 110.

[0250] Next, when the mobile battery 1512 is mounted on the vehicle 1522, the battery station 160 decides to dispense the mobile battery 1514. At this time, the verification ID stored in the mobile battery 1512 is inherited by the mobile battery 1514. In addition, the verification ID is erased from the memory 454 of the mobile battery 1512.

[0251] Thereafter, when the mobile battery 1514 is mounted on the vehicle 1522, the matching unit 530 matches the matching ID of the mobile battery 1514 with the matching ID of the vehicle 1522. In this case, the two match, so power supply from the mobile battery 1514 to the vehicle 1522 is permitted.

[0252] On the other hand, when the mobile battery 1514 is mounted on the vehicle 1524, the matching unit 530 matches the matching ID of the mobile battery 1514 with the matching ID of the vehicle 1524. In this case, since the two do not match, the supply of power from the mobile battery 1514 to the vehicle 1524 is prohibited.

[0253] Fig. 16 shows a schematic diagram of another example of the ECU 264. In the embodiment described in relation to Fig. 1 to Fig. 15, the details of the control method for the function or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 have been described by taking as an example a case in which the collation unit 530 is arranged in the mobile battery 122 and the mobile battery 122 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110.

[0254] However, as described in relation to Fig. 1, the method of controlling the functions or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 is not limited to the embodiment described in relation to Fig. 1 to Fig. 15. Another example of the method of controlling the functions or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 will be described with reference to Fig. 16.

[0255] The embodiment described in relation to Figure 16 differs from the battery management system 100 or ECU 264 described in relation to Figures 1 to 15 in that the matching unit 530 is arranged in the ECU 264 of the electric motorcycle 110, and the ECU 264 performs a matching process between the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID sending unit 124.

[0256] 1 to 15 in that the collation unit 530 outputs an operation control signal for controlling each unit of the electric motorcycle 110 instead of a power supply control signal. Regarding features other than the above differences, the battery management system 100 or ECU 264 described in relation to Fig. 16 may have a similar configuration to the battery management system 100 or ECU 264 described in relation to Fig. 1 to 15.

[0257] In this embodiment, the ECU 264 includes an ID management unit 520, a matching unit 530, a power control unit 542, a drive control unit 1644 that drives the motor 280, and a battery control unit 1646 that controls the BMS 262. The ID management unit 520, the matching unit 530, and the power control unit 542 may have the same configuration as the ID management unit 520, the matching unit 530, and the power control unit 542 of the controller 452 disposed in the mobile battery 122 described in relation to FIG.

[0258] In this embodiment, the ID management unit 520 acquires the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 from the matching ID writer 140 via the communication connector 244. The ID management unit 520 also acquires the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the mobile battery 122 via the communication connector 224. The ID management unit 520 outputs the matching ID assigned to the electric bike 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 to the matching unit 530.

[0259] In this embodiment, the collation unit 530 outputs an operation control signal for controlling the electric motorcycle 110, instead of a power supply control signal, as information indicating the collation result. Examples of the operation control signal include a signal indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, a signal indicating permission to operate the motor 280, a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of operation of the motor 280, and the like.

[0260] In one embodiment, the collation unit 530 transmits to the power control unit 542 a signal indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, or a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. In this case, the power control unit 542 controls the power control circuit 270 to control the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. This allows the operation of the electric bike 110 to be controlled.

[0261] In another embodiment, the collation unit 530 transmits a signal permitting operation of the motor 280 or a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of operation of the motor 280 to the drive control unit 1644. In this case, the drive control unit 1644 controls the motor 280 in response to the above signal. In this way, the operation of the electric motorcycle 110 can be controlled.

[0262] In yet another embodiment, the collation unit 530 transmits to the battery control unit 1646 a signal indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110, or a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. In this case, the battery control unit 1646 controls the controller 452 of the mobile battery 122 via the BMS 262. This adjusts the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric bike 110. As a result, the operation of the electric bike 110 can be controlled.

[0263] Fig. 17 shows a schematic diagram of another example of the ID transmission unit 124. In the embodiment described in relation to Fig. 1 to Fig. 15, the collation unit 530 is arranged in the mobile battery 122, and the mobile battery 122 controls the power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, and the control method of the function or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 is described in detail.

[0264] However, as described in relation to Fig. 1, the method of controlling the functions or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 is not limited to the embodiment described in relation to Fig. 1 to Fig. 15. Another example of the method of controlling the functions or performance of the electric motorcycle 110 will be described with reference to Fig. 17.

[0265] In the embodiment described in relation to Figure 17, the matching unit 530 is arranged in the ID transmission unit 124, and the ID transmission unit 124 performs a matching process between the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124, which differs from the battery management system 100 or the ID transmission unit 124 described in relation to Figures 1 to 15 in that the matching unit 530 is arranged in the ID transmission unit 124, and the ID transmission unit 124 performs a matching process between the matching ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 and the matching ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124.

[0266] In this embodiment, the ID sending unit 124 further includes a matching unit 530 in addition to the ID sending unit 124 described in relation to Fig. 6. In this embodiment, the ID management unit 622 and the matching unit 530 may have the same configuration as the ID management unit 520 and the matching unit 530 of the controller 452 arranged in the mobile battery 122 described in relation to Fig. 5, respectively.

[0267] In this embodiment, the ID management unit 622 acquires the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 from the mobile battery 122 via the communication connector 244 of the electric motorcycle 110. Also, as described above, the ID management unit 622 acquires the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 from the verification ID writer 140. The ID management unit 622 outputs the verification ID assigned to the electric motorcycle 110 or the ID transmission unit 124 and the verification ID assigned to the mobile battery 122 to the verification unit 530.

[0268] In this embodiment, the collation unit 530 outputs an operation control signal for controlling the electric motorcycle 110, instead of a power supply control signal, as information indicating the collation result.

[0269] In one embodiment, the collation unit 530 transmits the above-mentioned operation control signal to the ECU 264 of the electric motorcycle 110. The ECU 264 controls the electric motorcycle 110 or the mobile battery 122 based on the operation control signal in a manner similar to that of the embodiment described in relation to Fig. 16. In this way, the operation of the electric motorcycle 110 can be controlled.

[0270] In another embodiment, the collation unit 530 transmits a signal indicating permission to supply power from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, or a signal indicating prohibition or restriction of power supply from the mobile battery 122 to the electric motorcycle 110, to the mobile battery 122 via the electric motorcycle 110. This allows the operation of the electric motorcycle 110 to be controlled.
