Abstract
Description
[Technical field]
[0001] The present invention relates to a hair cleansing composition. [Background technology]
[0002] Internal olefin sulfonates, which are known to have various carbon numbers, have been used in various cleaning compositions since they can provide excellent effects as anionic surfactants. [0004] [Patent Document 1] JP 2020-109145 A [Patent Document 2] JP 2020-105420 A Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]
[0005] Incidentally, internal olefin sulfonate is a component that can impart such various excellent properties to a composition, but all of the above patent documents only focus on washing textile products, and do not consider at all how to impart a fine finish to hair not only during washing, but also during rinsing and drying after washing, and there is ample room for improvement.
[0006] That is, the present invention relates to a hair cleanser composition which uses a specific internal olefin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof and which, when applied to hair, exhibits excellent performance from washing to rinsing and drying after washing, and also exhibits good low-temperature stability. [Means for solving the problem]
[0007] Therefore, the present inventors conducted various studies and found that by containing a specific internal olefin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof, which is obtained by sulfonating a raw material olefin having an average double bond position within an extremely limited range, and a specific oily compound in a specific mass ratio, it is possible to obtain a hair cleanser composition which exerts excellent hair washing effects from washing to rinsing and drying after washing, and which also has good low-temperature stability.
[0008] Accordingly, the present invention relates to a composition comprising the following components (A) and (B): (A) An internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms, or a salt thereof, obtained by sulfonating a raw olefin having 16 carbon atoms and an average double bond position of 3.9 to 4.5. (B) One or more oily compounds selected from higher fatty acids (b1), long-chain alkyl glyceryl ethers (b2), and amide compounds (b3) represented by the following formula (1): TIFF0007649273000001.tif30170 (in formula (1), R 1 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, and R 2 and R 3 represents an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, and R 4 and R 5indicates a methyl group or hydrogen.) The present invention provides a hair cleansing composition comprising the above-mentioned component (B) and the component (A), and the mass ratio ((B) / (A)) of the content of the component (B) to the content of the component (A) is 0.005 or more and 0.20 or less. Effect of the Invention
[0009] The hair cleansing composition of the present invention, when applied to hair, not only produces good foam during washing and makes hair feel soft during rinsing, but also makes hair less tangled and easier to comb after drying after washing. In addition, the composition has excellent low-temperature stability despite using an internal olefin sulfonate that is prone to precipitation, making it a highly useful composition. In addition, "good foaming" during washing of hair with the hair cleanser composition of the present invention means foaming power that quickly generates foam during washing and a sufficient amount of foam to realize the dirt removal effect. In addition, "softness of hair" during rinsing after washing hair with the hair cleanser composition of the present invention means not only that the hair as a whole feels soft and supple during rinsing, but also that each hair strand feels supple and healthy at the end. Furthermore, "easy combing" of dried hair after washing means that the hair is prevented from tangling and the hair flow can be naturally aligned without the need for operations such as hand combing, and brushing, subsequent finish drying, and styling are also easy. Hereinafter, the effects of "good foaming," "imparting softness to hair," and "imparting ease of combing" to washed and dried hair when the hair cleanser composition of the present invention is applied to hair are collectively referred to as the "hair washing effect."
[0010] The present invention will be described in detail below. The hair cleansing composition of the present invention contains, as component (A), an internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or a salt thereof obtained by sulfonating a raw material olefin having 16 carbon atoms and having an average double bond position ranging from 3.9 to 4.5. That is, the internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or a salt thereof of component (A) is a compound obtained by sulfonating a starting material olefin having an average double bond position within a specific, extremely limited range, and more specifically, is a compound obtained by sulfonating the starting material olefin, followed by neutralization and hydrolysis.
[0011] Examples of the salt of the internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms, obtained by sulfonating a raw material olefin having 16 carbon atoms and an average double bond position of 3.9 to 4.5, include one or more selected from alkali metal salts such as sodium salt, potassium salt, etc.; organic amine salts such as ammonium salt, monoethanolamine salt, diethanolamine salt, triethanolamine salt, 2-aminoethanol salt, 2-aminomethylpropanediol salt, etc.; and basic amino acid salts such as lysine salt, arginine salt, etc. These internal olefin sulfonic acid salts having 16 carbon atoms do not necessarily need to be in the form of a salt from the beginning, and a salt formed by a neutralization reaction during production may be used. Among these, from the viewpoint of improving low-temperature stability, the salt of the internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms is preferably one or more selected from the sodium salt, potassium salt, ammonium salt and 2-aminoethanol salt, more preferably one or two selected from the sodium salt and potassium salt, and even more preferably the sodium salt, i.e., sodium internal olefin sulfonate having 16 carbon atoms is even more preferable.
[0012] Furthermore, the product obtained from such a raw material olefin having 16 carbon atoms, component (A), which is an internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or its salt, is mainly a mixture of a hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or its salt (hydroxy form, abbreviated as "HAS") and an olefinsulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or its salt (olefin form, abbreviated as "IOS").
[0013] Incidentally, the starting olefin having 16 carbon atoms, which is the starting material for component (A), mainly has a double bond located inside the carbon chain, but may contain a small amount of so-called α-olefin, in which the double bond is located at the first position of the carbon chain. When such a starting olefin is sulfonated, β-sultone is mainly produced, and a part of the β-sultone is converted to γ-sultone and olefin sulfonic acid. Furthermore, these β-sultone, γ-sultone and olefin sulfonic acid are converted to hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or its salt and olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or its salt in the neutralization and hydrolysis process (for example, J. Am. Oil Chem. Soc. 69, 39 (1992)). In addition, the hydroxy group of the obtained hydroxyalkanesulfonic acid or its salt is located inside the alkane chain, and the double bond of the olefin sulfonic acid or its salt is located inside the olefin chain. Therefore, in this specification, these products and mixtures thereof are collectively referred to as component (A) an internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or a salt thereof.
[0014] The carbon number 16 raw material olefin that is sulfonated to form the carbon number 16 internal olefin sulfonic acid or its salt of component (A) has an average double bond position of 3.9 or more and 4.5 or less. The carbon number 16 raw material olefin showing such an average double bond position has a broad distribution of double bond positions from 2-position to 8-position, including 1-position that may be present in a trace amount. The double bond positions and their distribution in the raw olefins can be confirmed by measurement using a gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (abbreviated as "GC-MS"). Specifically, components with different carbon chain lengths and double bond positions are accurately separated using a gas chromatograph analyzer (hereinafter abbreviated as GC), and each is subjected to a mass spectrometer (abbreviated as "MS"), whereby the double bond positions can be identified and determined from the respective GC peak areas.
[0015] On the other hand, in the case of component (A) of an internal olefin sulfonic acid having 16 carbon atoms or a salt thereof obtained by sulfonating such a raw material olefin, the position of the sulfonic acid group introduced by sulfonation is more difficult to separate as it is located closer to the carbon chain, and therefore there is currently no reliable analytical method. However, it is fully assumed that the positions of the sulfonic acid groups in component (A) almost correspond to the double bond positions in the raw material olefin, and show a broad distribution without excessive uneven distribution over the 2nd to 8th positions, including the 1st position. Therefore, in the present invention, component (A) is specified based on the value of the average double bond position in the raw material olefin, which is the starting material.
[0016] The component (A) used in the present invention is an internal olefin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof obtained from a raw material olefin having the above-mentioned average double bond position value, i.e., a broad double bond distribution, and the sulfonic acid group is present at broad positions on the carbon chain without being excessively unevenly distributed. In an internal olefin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof having 16 carbon atoms, if the sulfonic acid group is unevenly distributed toward the end of the carbon chain, the melting point increases due to the increase in the lengthened carbon chain, making it easier to precipitate, and low-temperature stability may be impaired. In addition, if the sulfonic acid group is unevenly distributed toward the inside of the carbon chain, the foam quality during washing and the feel of the hair during rinsing may be impaired, and the hair washing effect may be reduced. However, in the case of the internal olefin sulfonic acid or a salt thereof having 16 carbon atoms obtained from the above-mentioned raw material olefin, the sulfonic acid group is present at broad positions on the carbon chain without being excessively unevenly distributed, and internal olefin sulfonic acids or salts thereof having carbon chains of various lengths from the bond position of the sulfonic acid group to the end are appropriately mixed. Therefore, in combination with the component (B) described later, it is possible to achieve excellent hair washing effects from washing to rinsing and drying after washing. The same applies when the component (A) is sodium internal olefin sulfonate having 16 carbon atoms. The average double bond position (unit: positions) in the carbon number 16 raw material olefin that is the starting material for component (A) means the average value of the double bond positions of each carbon number 16 raw material olefin present in the total amount of the carbon number 16 raw material olefin. Specifically, the average double bond position in the carbon number 16 raw material olefin is a value calculated by the following formula (1).

[0082] The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the following examples. In the tables, the content of each component is expressed as mass % unless otherwise specified.
[0083] [Measurement methods for various physical properties] (i) Method for determining the double bond position of the raw olefin The double bond positions of the raw olefins were measured by gas chromatography (hereinafter abbreviated as GC). Specifically, the raw olefins were reacted with dimethyl disulfide to produce dithiolated derivatives, and each component was then separated by GC. As a result, the double bond positions of the raw olefins were determined from the respective peak areas. The equipment and analytical conditions used for the measurements were as follows: GC equipment (product name: HP6890, manufactured by Hewlett Packard), column (product name: Ultra-Alloy-1HT capillary column 30 m x 250 μm x 0.15 μm, manufactured by Frontier Labs), detector (hydrogen flame ionization detector (FID)), injection temperature 300°C, detector temperature 350°C, He flow rate 4.6 mL / min.
[0084] (ii) Method for measuring the content of sodium internal olefin sulfonate according to the position of sulfonic acid group bond Regarding internal olefin sulfonate sodium to which sulfonic acid groups are bonded, the content of each internal olefin sulfonate sodium according to the position of the sulfonic acid group bond was measured by high performance liquid chromatography / mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS). Specifically, the hydroxy forms to which the sulfonic acid groups are bonded were separated by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and each was identified by subjecting each to a mass spectrometer (MS). As a result, the content of each was calculated from the HPLC-MS peak area. The apparatus and conditions used for the measurement were as follows: HPLC apparatus "LD20ASXR" (Shimadzu Corporation), column "ODS Hypersil (registered trademark)" (4.6 x 250 mm, particle size: 3 μm, Thermo Fisher Scientific), sample preparation (1000-fold dilution with methanol), eluent A (water with 10 mM ammonium acetate added), eluent B (water with 10 mM ammonium acetate added), Methacrylonitrile / water = 95 / 5 (v / v) solution), gradient (0 min (A / B = 60 / 40) → 15.1-20 min (30 / 70) → 20.1-30 min (60 / 40), MS device "LCMS-2020" (Shimadzu Corporation), ESI detection (anion detection m / z: 321.10 ((A) component with carbon number 16 or 18)), column temperature (40°C), flow rate (0.5 mL / min), injection volume (5 μL)
[0085] (iii) Method for measuring the mass ratio of hydroxy compound / olefin compound The mass ratio of hydroxyl / olefin in sodium internal olefin sulfonate was measured by HPLC-MS. Specifically, the hydroxyl and olefin were separated by HPLC and each was identified by MS. As a result, the ratio of each was calculated from the HPLC-MS peak area. The equipment and conditions used for the measurement are as follows: HPLC equipment (trade name: Agilent Technology 1100, manufactured by Agilent Technologies), column (trade name: L-column ODS 4.6 x 150 mm, manufactured by Chemicals Evaluation and Research Institute, Japan), sample preparation (1000-fold dilution with methanol), eluent A (water with 10 mM ammonium acetate added), eluent B (methanol with 10 mM ammonium acetate added), gradient (0 min (A / B = 30 / 70%) → 10 min (30 / 70%) → 55 min (0 / 100%) → 65 min (0 / 100%) → 66 min (30 / 70%) → 75 min (30 / 70%)), MS equipment (trade name: Agilent Technology 1100MS SL (G1946D)), MS detection (anion detection m / z 60-1600, UV 240 nm).
[0086] (iv) Method for measuring the content of olefins in the feedstock The content of unreacted raw olefin in sodium internal olefin sulfonate was measured by GC. Specifically, ethanol and petroleum ether were added to an aqueous solution of sodium internal olefin sulfonate, and then the mixture was extracted to obtain the olefin in the petroleum ether phase. The raw olefin was then quantified from its GC peak area. The equipment and analytical conditions used for the measurements were as follows: GC equipment (product name: Agilent Technology 6850, manufactured by Agilent Technologies), column (product name: Ultra-Alloy-1HT capillary column 15 m × 250 μm × 0.15 μm, manufactured by Frontier Labs), detector (hydrogen flame ionization detector (FID)), injection temperature 300°C, detector temperature 350°C, He flow rate 3.8 mL / min.
[0087] (v) Method for measuring inorganic compound content The content of inorganic compounds was measured by potentiometric titration and neutralization titration. Specifically, the content of Na2SO4 was measured by the sulfate radical (SO4 2- The NaOH content was determined by neutralization titration with dilute hydrochloric acid.
[0088] [Production Example a1: Production of Raw Material Olefin a1 Having 16 Carbon Atoms] A flask equipped with a stirrer was charged with 7000g (28.9 mol) of 1-hexadecanol (product name: Kalcol 6098, manufactured by Kao Corporation) and 350g (5% by mass based on the raw material alcohol) of γ-alumina (manufactured by STREM Chemicals, Inc.) as a solid acid catalyst, and the reaction was carried out for 8 hours at 280°C while circulating nitrogen (7000mL / min) through the system under stirring. The alcohol conversion rate after the reaction was 100%. The obtained crude alkene internal olefin was transferred to a distillation flask and distilled at 136-160°C / 4.0mmHg to obtain raw material olefin a1 with 16 carbon atoms and 100% olefin purity. The double bond distribution of the obtained raw material olefin a1 was 1.8 mass% at C1, 21.8 mass% at C2, 18.7 mass% at C3, 18.6 mass% at C4, 14.3 mass% at C5, 11.4 mass% at C6, and 13.6 mass% in total at C7 and C8, and the average double bond position was 4.17. The physical properties of the obtained raw material olefin a1 are shown in Table 1.
[0089] [Table 1]
[0090] [Production Example 1: Production of Sodium Internal Olefin Sulfonate A1 Having 16 Carbon Atoms] The raw material olefin a1 obtained in Production Example a1 was placed in a thin-film sulfonation reactor having an external jacket, and sulfonation reaction was carried out using sulfur trioxide gas under the condition that cooling water at 10°C was passed through the reactor external jacket. The molar ratio of SO3 / internal olefin during the sulfonation reaction was set to 1.01. The obtained sulfonated product was mixed with an alkaline aqueous solution prepared with 1.04 molar times the theoretical acid value of sodium hydroxide (alkali agent), and neutralized at 30°C for 1 hour by a continuous method. The obtained neutralized product was heated in an autoclave at 170°C for 1 hour to perform hydrolysis, and sodium internal olefin sulfonate A1 having a carbon number of 16 was obtained. The content of raw material olefin contained in the obtained sodium internal olefin sulfonate A1 having a carbon number of 16 was 0.4 mass%, and the content of inorganic compounds was 0.39 mass%. The physical properties of the obtained sodium internal olefin sulfonate A1 are shown in Table 2.
[0091] [Table 2]
[0092] [Examples 1 to 6, Comparative Examples 1 to 3] Using the obtained sodium internal olefin sulfonate A1, hair cleansing compositions having the compositions shown in Tables 3 and 4 were prepared by a conventional method. Specifically, component (A), component (B), and an appropriate amount of water, and optionally component (C) and other components were placed in a beaker, heated to 60 to 80°C, mixed, cooled to room temperature, and then water was replenished and the pH was adjusted to 6.0 with a pH adjuster (succinic acid or an aqueous solution of disodium succinate), to obtain each hair cleansing composition. The obtained hair cleansing compositions were used to carry out various evaluations according to the following methods. The results are shown in Tables 3 and 4.
[0093] <Evaluation of "good foaming" during washing and "hair softness" during rinsing> The following ingredients were placed in a beaker and heated to 80° C., then mixed and confirmed to be uniformly dissolved, after which the mixture was cooled to obtain a plain shampoo. (Plain Shampoo Composition) (component) (mass%) Polyoxyethylene lauryl ether sulfate sodium 11.3 (42.0% as Emeral E-27C (Kao Corporation, active ingredient 27% by mass) Coconut oil fatty acid N-methylethanolamide 3.0 (Aminone C-11S (Kao Corporation)) Citric acid 0.2 Methylparaben 0.3 Purified water Balance Total 100.0
[0094] A hair bundle of untreated Japanese hair with a mass of 20 g and a length of 20 cm was washed with the above-mentioned plain shampoo to obtain a hair bundle for evaluation. The obtained hair bundle for evaluation was sufficiently moistened with warm water at 35 to 40°C, and then 1 g of each hair cleanser composition was applied thereto and washed for 1 minute. One expert panelist evaluated the items of "good foaming" during washing and "softness of hair" during rinsing according to the following evaluation criteria.
[0095] A:Very good B: Good C: Not good
[0096] <Evaluation of "ease of combing" of washed and dried hair> The hair bundle for evaluation was prepared, and after thoroughly moistening it with warm water at 35 to 40°C, 1 g of each hair cleanser composition was applied, and the hair bundle was lightly held between the palms of both hands and washed for 1 minute by rubbing the hands together. After that, the hair bundle was rinsed with warm water for 30 seconds and placed on a towel, and towel-dried by covering the entire surface of the hair bundle and rubbing the towel together. Next, the hair bundle was dried with a hair dryer for 2 minutes to obtain a hair bundle for combability evaluation. The obtained hair bundle was set in a combing force measuring device (Utsunomiya Seiki Co., Ltd. "KOT-0303") and a brush was used to move the hair bundle from the root to the tip. The maximum load (gf) applied to the brush when passing from the root to the tip was measured 10 times, and the average value was evaluated as the maximum combing force (gf). In addition, the smaller the maximum load on the brush, the more effectively it prevents tangling of washed and dried hair, and the more naturally the hair flows, making it easier to brush and then finish-dry and style.
[0097] Evaluation of low temperature stability Each of the obtained hair cleansing compositions was placed in a screw bottle and stored in a thermostatic bath at −5° C. Next, whether or not a precipitate was formed over time was visually observed and evaluated according to the following criteria. a: No precipitate was observed even after 6 hours. b: Formation of precipitates was confirmed within 5 hours or more but less than 6 hours. c: The formation of precipitates was confirmed within 5 hours.
