Description

[Technical field]

[0001] The present invention relates to a dry construction stud having a web and first and second flanges connected to the web, with a flange bead on at least one of the flanges, each of the flange beads extending longitudinally of the stud over a flange bead length that is less than the overall length of the stud, the flange beads being disposed at a center distance from each other. The present invention further relates to a dry construction wall having such a dry construction stud. [Background technology]

[0002] Dry construction refers to the production of structural elements, in particular dry construction walls, by assembly of industrially manufactured semi-finished products. Dry construction walls are usually produced by erecting a support structure of stud elements to which the panels are attached. To achieve a smooth surface, the joints are usually provided with a filler. Dry construction studs made of sheet metal are often used for the support structure. They are light in weight and therefore easy to handle. Furthermore, dry construction studs allow the construction of stable dry construction walls with good sound insulation values. Dry construction walls can be walls of buildings that are produced after the construction of the framework. Dry construction produced dry construction walls can also be used for exterior walls and load-bearing building components if suitable materials are used.

[0003] A known dry construction stud, designated as a C-stud, is described in EP 1 866 492 A1. In the case of the known stud, the flange bead faces outwards. Furthermore, the web is provided with two narrow beads, each located at an edge portion.

[0004] Further C-studs for dry construction and dry construction walls produced using them are described in EP1375769 A2 and EP2015879 A1. Summary of the Invention [Problem to be solved by the invention]

[0005] The present invention aims to identify a dry construction stud that makes it possible to improve the sound insulation properties of drywall in a simple manner. [Means for solving the problem]

[0006] This object is solved by the features of claim 1. Thus, in the case of the above-mentioned dry construction studs, it is provided that the web has a first web section, which merges into a bent first flange connection section forming an edge portion of the web and connecting the first flange to the web, and that the web has a second web section, which merges into a bent second flange connection section forming a further edge portion of the web and connecting the second web section to the second flange, the web having a web bead arranged between the first and second web sections. The claimed design makes it possible to significantly improve the acoustic properties of dry construction walls made with dry construction studs. In particular, the sound transmission loss of dry construction walls acting as partition walls between two rooms is improved. An improvement is also achieved when the dry construction wall forms a facing shell in front of the wall. This can be achieved without the need for costly additional measures, simply by optimizing the shape of the dry construction studs. This makes it possible to achieve advantageous acoustic properties without the need to change the structure of the dry construction wall. Rather, the dry construction stud can be used in the same way as previously known dry construction studs. The dry construction stud is also characterized by being easy and safe to work with. Finally, the dry construction stud is stable. It is presumed that the claimed arrangement of the flange bead together with the claimed arrangement of the first and second web sections and the web bead contributes to improving the acoustic properties. In this connection, the claimed arrangement also plays a role in the way in which the described design increases the stiffness in the various sections of the dry construction stud in certain directions, so that on the one hand, the stud is stable enough to easily absorb the forces occurring in the dry wall. On the other hand, the stiffness is intentionally reduced in certain sections or in certain directions, which hinders the transmission of sound in the dry construction wall.

[0007] In the following, advantageous embodiments of the invention are described, which additional features contribute in particular to further improving the acoustic properties of the dry construction studs, which are furthermore related to easy and safe handling of the dry construction studs and achieving high stability at low cost.

[0008] According to the invention, it is preferred that the web bead is located in the center of the web. Preferably, the web has only one web bead.

[0009] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first web section and the second web section have the same width.

[0010] According to the present invention, the first and second web sections preferably have a width of 8 mm to 15 mm (preferably 9 mm to 11 mm). Furthermore, the web bead preferably has a width larger than the width of each of the first and second web sections.

[0011] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the web bead projects in a direction towards the inside of the stud, where inside refers to the space between the first and second flanges of the stud.

[0012] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first and second web sections are arranged in a first plane and a central region of the web bead is arranged in a second plane. Preferably, said central region can be formed linearly.

[0013] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the stud is a metal stud. The metal stud can be made of steel, preferably galvanized steel. The metal stud can preferably be manufactured by forming a flat metal sheet into a metal profile. The metal stud therefore comprises a metal body with a profile, but can also comprise other materials. In particular, the metal stud may comprise a coating and / or additional elements.

[0014] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the web bead has a web bead height of 1 to 5 times the material thickness of the metal stud. Preferably, the web bead height is 2 to 4 times the material thickness of the metal stud. The web bead height can be measured relative to the inside of the first web section and the second web section.

[0015] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the web bead has a central region and a first transition region to a first web section and a second transition region to a second web section, the first transition region and the second transition region each having an obliquely arranged section, which is arranged at an angle of 30° to 75° relative to the central region, the obliquely arranged section preferably having a straight cross section.

[0016] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first transition region and the second transition region have a first radius and a second radius, respectively, and the obliquely arranged section is arranged between the first radius and the second radius.

[0017] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the web bead extends continuously longitudinally over the entire length of the stud.

[0018] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the bent first flange connection section and the bent second flange connection section each have a bending radius of 1 mm to 3 mm, the bending radius being determined on the inside of the respective bent flange connection section.

[0019] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flange beads project in a direction towards the inside of the stud. Thus, the flange beads project in a direction towards the inside of the dry construction stud. More preferably, all the flange beads project in a direction towards the inside of the stud.

[0020] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that all flange beads of one flange are arranged along a single straight line, preferably oriented parallel to the longitudinal direction of the stud.

[0021] Alternatively, the flange beads of one flange may be arranged along two, three or more lines that are preferably parallel to one another, and the two, three or more lines may be oriented parallel to the longitudinal direction of the stud.

[0022] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flange bead is arranged in a central region of the flange. The central region may be a section of the flange that extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of the stud and has the same distance to the proximal and distal ends of the flange. Preferably, the flange bead is arranged in the center of the flange.

[0023] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flange bead has a flange bead height of 0.5 to 2 times (preferably 0.75 to 1.5 times) the material thickness of the stud. The flange bead height can be measured relative to the inside of the respective flange.

[0024] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the center distance between adjacent flange beads of the flange is between 100 mm and 250 mm.

[0025] According to the present invention, the preferred flange bead length is 40 mm to 70 mm. Preferably, all flange beads are formed in this manner.

[0026] According to a preferred embodiment, the interval between adjacent flange beads of one flange is 30 mm to 210 mm. An interval of 100 mm to 150 mm is preferable. Furthermore, it is preferable that the interval between adjacent flange beads of one flange is uniform.

[0027] According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, at least 50% (preferably at least 70%, 80% or 90%) of the flange beads have the same flange bead length.

[0028] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the flange bead is a semicircular bead or a triangular bead.

[0029] An advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the flange bead has a bead width of 2 mm to 4 mm.

[0030] An advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the flange bead has a flange bead height which is less than the web bead height.

[0031] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the stud has a knurling in the region of the web and / or in the region of the first flange and / or in the region of the second flange. Preferably, at least 40% (more preferably at least 60% or at least 80%) of the surface of the sheet material is knurled. The knurling comprises a number of localized plastic deformations, which, among other features, contributes to a further improvement of the acoustic properties and to good processability.

[0032] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the width of the web is between 30 mm and 300 mm, preferably between 48 mm and 200 mm.

[0033] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the width of the flange is between 30 mm and 60 mm, preferably between 47 mm and 49 mm.

[0034] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the material thickness of the stud is between 0.4 mm and 1 mm, preferably between 0.5 mm and 0.8 mm.

[0035] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first flange has a smaller flange width than the second flange, whereby the dryconstruction stud can be connected to an identical further dryconstruction stud to form a rectangular stud, the first flange of the dryconstruction stud abutting the inside of the second flange of the further dryconstruction stud.

[0036] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the first and second flanges are arranged with an opening angle (outwardly flaring) of 1°-6° (preferably 3°-4°) relative to each other. This allows the angle between the first flange and the web to be in particular 90.5°-93° (preferably 91.5°-92°). This refers to the dry construction stud before its assembly during the construction of the drywall. Due to the forces occurring during assembly, the first and second flanges can be deformed elastically or elastically and plastically. This can also further improve the acoustic properties.

[0037] An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the stud is a C-stud. The stud may present a C-shaped cross section in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the stud. In the case of a C-stud, the free end portions of the first and second flanges may be bent inwards.

[0038] The invention also refers to a dry-construction wall comprising at least one dry-construction stud of the type described and a siding attached thereto. The siding may in particular comprise a dry-construction board, with gypsum plasterboard, gypsum board and fiber cement board being particularly preferred.

[0039] Further objects, features, advantages and applicability of the present invention arise from the following description of embodiments based on the drawings. All features described and / or shown form the object of the present invention, individually or in any meaningful combination, independently of the individual claims or their summary in the back reference. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS

[0041] Figures 1-3 show a first embodiment of a dry construction stud without knurling. Figures 4a and 4b show the same dry construction stud with the addition of knurling. Therefore, in the following, where there are similarities, the embodiments will be described together.

[0042] Each of the figures 1 to 4b shows a dry construction stud 1 which is a metal stud. The metal stud can be obtained by forming a sheet metal. The dry construction stud 1 has a web 3 and a first flange 4 and a second flange 5. The first flange 4 and the second flange 5 are arranged on the web 3. The first flange 4 and the second flange 5 as well as the web 3 are made from a continuous metal sheet. During manufacturing, an originally flat metal sheet is bent into the shape shown in figures 1 to 4b.

[0043] The dry construction stud 1 has several flange beads 6 on each of a first flange 4 and a second flange 5. The flange beads are aligned so that they protrude in one direction towards the inside of the stud. The inside of the stud is formed by the space between the first flange 4 and the second flange 5.

[0044] The flange beads 6 are arranged in the central regions of the first and second flanges 4 and 5, respectively.

[0045] As shown, the flange beads 6 each extend longitudinally of the stud 1 over a bead length A that is less than the overall length B of the stud 1. The rectangular flange beads 6 of one flange 4, 5 are all disposed along a single straight line. The first flange 4 and the second flange 5 have no further beads in addition to the flange beads 6.

[0046] The flange bead height C of the flange bead is 0.5 to 2 times the material thickness D of the metal stud.

[0047] 1 further shows that there are gaps between the flange beads 6, with a center-to-center distance E of 100 mm to 250 mm. The flange beads have a bead length A of 40 mm to 70 mm.

[0048] As shown in Fig. 3, the flange bead 6 can be formed as a semicircular or triangular bead. The flange bead 6 has a bead width F of 2 mm to 4 mm.

[0049] 1-4b further show that the web 3 has a first web section 7 and a second web section 8 with a web bead 9 disposed therebetween. The first web section 7 forms an edge portion 10 of the web 3 and merges into a bent first flange connection section 11 connecting the first flange 4 to the web 3. The second web section 8 forms a further edge portion 12 of the web 3 and merges into a bent second flange connection section 13 connecting the second web section 8 to the second flange 5.

[0050] The web bead 9 extends in the longitudinal direction of the stud 1 over its entire length B.

[0051] As shown, web bead 9 is centrally located on web 3. In the illustrated exemplary embodiment, first web section 7 and second web section 8 each have a width G between 8 mm and 15 mm.

[0052] The web bead 9 is oriented toward the inside of the dry construction stud 1. The first web section 7 and the second web section 8 lie in one plane, while a central region of the web bead 9 is disposed in a second plane that is offset from the first plane.

[0053] The web bead 9 has a web bead height H which is 1 to 5 times the material thickness D of the metal stud.

[0054] The web bead 9 has a central region 14 and a first transition region 15 to the first web section 7 and a second transition region 16 to the second web section 8. The first transition region 15 and the second transition region 16 each have an obliquely disposed section 17 that is disposed at an angle of between 30° and 75° relative to the central region 14.

[0055] FIG. 3 further shows that the first transition region 15 and the second transition region 16 have a first radius 50 and a second radius 51, respectively, and the diagonally disposed section 17 is disposed between the first radius 50 and the second radius 51.

[0056] The illustrated dry construction stud 1 is formed as a C-stud. The free end portions 30 of the first 4 and second 5 flanges are bent inwards over the entire length of the stud 1.

[0057] The width K of the web 3 may in particular be between 50 mm and 300 mm. The width L of the flanges 4, 5 may in particular be between 30 mm and 60 mm. The material thickness D of the metal stud may in particular be between 0.4 mm and 1 mm.

[0058] Figure 3 also shows that the first flange 4 and the second flange 5 are not aligned parallel, but can have an opening angle (flaring outwards) of 1° to 6° relative to each other. Thus, the angle M between the first flange 4 or the second flange 5 and the web 3 is 90.5° to 93°. These details refer to the state of the dry construction stud 1 before installation.

[0059] While the dry construction stud 1 is shown without knurling in figures 1-3, figures 4a and 4b show a design of the dry construction stud 1 with knurling, in this case the knurling is applied over the entire surface area of the web 3 and the first flange 4 and the second flange 5. The knurling involves multiple local plastic deformations of the sheet metal.

[0060] FIG. 5 shows a cross section of a dry construction wall in a horizontal section. Two of the dry construction studs 1 are shown, which form the vertically arranged elements of the dry construction wall. In the embodiment shown, a siding 18 is arranged on either side of the dry construction studs 1. The siding 18 has two layers. The siding 18 comprises a panel 19, which is arranged on a first flange 4 and a second flange 5 by means of fasteners 20. In particular, the fasteners 20 can be screws which are screwed through the panel 19 into the first flange 4 or into the second flange 5. However, other fasteners known from dry construction can also be used.

[0061] 5 also shows that the first flange 4 and the second flange 5 are not initially aligned parallel, but are angled relative to one another. When the fastener is tightened, the first flange 4 and the second flange 5 can elastically (or elastically and plastically) deform relative to the web 3 so that they are aligned parallel to one another in the assembled state.

[0062] FIG. 6 shows measurements showing the improved sound insulation properties of dry construction studs according to the present invention.

[0063] The measurement results concern the following wall construction: The dry construction walls are designed as metal stud walls. Knurled dry construction C studs with a web width K of 75 mm and a flange width L of 50 mm are used as metal studs in each case. The material thickness D is 0.6 mm. The dry construction studs are arranged with a centre distance of 625 mm. Both sides of the wall are panelled with two layers of 12.5 mm plasterboard according to DIN 18180. The cavities are filled with 60 mm of mineral wool.

[0064] FIG. 6 shows the measured sound transmission loss R as a function of frequency f (Hz).

[0065] Figure 6, on the other hand, shows the measurement results of a drywall created with studs as shown in Figure 4a. The corresponding measurement results are represented by the measurement curves marked with circles. As a comparison, data are shown for a drywall of the same construction, in which drywall studs with a different stud shape were used. In the case of the different shape, the flange bead is formed continuously over the entire length of the drywall stud, whereas the web is formed as shown in Figure 4a. The corresponding measurement results are represented by the measurement curves marked with triangles.

[0066] The measurement results of the sound transmission loss R determined according to DIN EN ISO10140-2 (Part 2: Measurement of airborne sound insulation) show a clear improvement in the sound transmission loss, especially above 100 Hz. The sound transmission loss R (dB) for the shape according to the invention in the range from 100 Hz to 2,000 Hz is significantly higher than the value achieved with the reference product. The weighted sound transmission loss RW is 55.3 dB for the design according to the invention, while the value RW for the reference product is 50.7 dB. This is significant, especially since mathematically, an increase of 3 dB corresponds to a doubling of the noise level. RW denotes the weighted airborne sound transmission loss, determined from the frequency-dependent sound transmission loss R according to DIN EN ISO717-1 (Part 1: Airborne Sound Insulation). When standards are mentioned, the information refers in each case to the version that came into force on December 1, 2019.
