Abstract
To provide a negative electrode material that improves the cycle life of an electrochemical device.SOLUTION: A negative electrode material includes: a carbon layer; and a silicon layer located on at least part of the surface of the carbon layer. Distribution degree R of silicon element to carbon element of the negative electrode material satisfies the relationship of R≤0.5, and R satisfies the following relationships. X1, X2, and Xn are respectively the ratios of the mass of silicon element to the mass of carbon element at the first point, the second point and the n-th point on a straight line, obtained by section-cutting a negative electrode sheet with an argon ion etching instrument through line scan analysis performed with an energy spectrometer, and n is the total number of points on the straight line.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
