Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a skin member used for covering a base material part, and an interior member in which the base material part is covered with the skin member.
Background Art
[0002] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2019-89536 (Patent Document 1) describes a skin member for covering a base material part. The skin member described in this Patent Document 1 is formed by bending the side edge parts (skin side edge parts) of two skin pieces into a U shape, and further abutting and sewing the bent parts of the side edge parts together.
[0003] Conventionally, when covering the base material part with the skin member, an adhesive is applied to the surface of the base material part to form an adhesive layer, and an adhesive is also applied to a part of the back surface of the skin member 90, for example, as shown in FIG. 7, to form an adhesive layer 95. Thereby, the base material part and the skin member 90 can be bonded via the adhesive layer of the base material part and the adhesive layer 95 of the skin member 90. In this case, for the left and right skin pieces 91 of the skin member 90, an adhesive may be applied to the entire inner peripheral surface of the skin side edge part 92 in each skin piece 91 to form an adhesive layer 95, thereby fixing the U-shaped bent shape of the skin side edge part 92.

Summary of the Invention
Problems to be Solved by the Invention
[0005] As shown in Figure 7, the skin member 90 is attached (fixed) to the base material by covering it with the skin side edges 92 of each of the left and right skin pieces 91, which are bent into a U-shape. In such conventional skin members 90, for example, when the skin member 90 is formed in a curved shape so that the part where the left and right skin pieces 91 abut is curved to the left and right, the back side (the so-called seam allowance) of the U-shaped bent skin side edges 92 tends to wrinkle, and wrinkles may partially occur on the back side.
[0006] However, in this surface member 90, as shown in Figure 7, the U-shaped folded shape of the surface side edge 92 is fixed by the adhesive layer 95. As a result, any wrinkles or creases that occur on the back side of the surface side edge 92 are also fixed by the adhesive layer 95, and these wrinkles or creases may appear as protrusions (convex shapes) on the outer surface of the surface member 90 via the adhesive layer 95. Consequently, the appearance quality of the product to which the surface member 90 is attached (for example, an interior component) may be impaired.
[0007] The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned conventional problems, and its object is to provide a surface member that can prevent or suppress a deterioration in the appearance quality of a product caused by wrinkles or other distortions that occur on the side edges of the surface, and an interior member in which the base material is covered by the surface member. [Means for solving the problem]
[0008] To achieve the above objective, the present invention provides a skin member having a skin body portion and a skin side edge portion that extends from the skin body portion in one direction in a first direction and is folded back in the other direction in the first direction, thereby having a shape that is substantially U-shaped, wherein the skin side edge portion has a base end portion connected to the skin body portion, a bent portion extending from the base end portion and being bent, and a folded edge portion extending from the bent portion and overlapping the back side of the base end portion, wherein an adhesive layer is provided on the inner circumferential surface of a part of the base end portion, the inner circumferential surface of the bent portion, and the inner circumferential surface of at least a part of the folded edge portion, and the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion is a non-adhesive surface where the adhesive layer is not provided.
[0009] In the skin member of the present invention, it is preferable that the non-adhesive surface of the base end is arranged continuously in a cross-sectional view along the first direction, from the boundary portion of the base end with respect to the skin body portion toward the bent portion. Furthermore, it is preferable that the non-adhesive surface of the base end is located in a cross-sectional view along the first direction, covering half or more than half of the inner circumferential surface of the base end.
[0010] Furthermore, in the skin member of the present invention, the inner circumferential surface of the folded edge portion has a non-adhesive surface on which the adhesive layer is not provided, and in a cross-sectional view along the first direction, at least a portion of the non-adhesive surface of the base end portion and at least a portion of the non-adhesive surface of the folded edge portion are arranged facing each other.
[0011] Furthermore, according to the present invention, an interior member is provided having the above-described surface member and a base material portion covered by the surface member. [Effects of the Invention]
[0012] According to the present invention, a surface member is provided that makes it difficult for wrinkles or other distortions that occur on the side edges of the surface to be fixed to the adhesive layer, thereby preventing or suppressing a deterioration in the appearance quality of the product due to wrinkles or other distortions, and an interior member is provided in which the base material is covered by the surface member. [0014] Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings and examples. It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and various modifications are possible as long as they have substantially the same configuration as the present invention and produce similar effects. [Examples]
[0015] Figure 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the main part of the interior component of this embodiment 1, and Figure 2 is a schematic plan view showing the surface (outer surface) of the interior component. Figure 3 is a schematic view showing the back surface (inner surface) of the skin material used in the interior component of this embodiment.
[0016] The interior member 1 of the first embodiment is an interior member 1 used in the passenger compartment of an automobile, and is used, for example, for an instrument panel, garnish, or console box of an automobile. Further, the interior member 1 of the first embodiment includes a base material portion 10 having a predetermined shape corresponding to the installation site inside the vehicle, and a skin member 20 that covers the base material portion 10 from the outside.
[0017] In the following description of the interior member 1, the vertical direction means the direction along the direction in which the skin member 20 approaches and separates from the base material portion 10, and is the same direction as the vertical direction in the plane of FIG. 1, for example. In this case, the direction in which the skin member 20 approaches the base material portion 10 is defined as the downward direction, and the direction in which the skin member 20 separates from the base material portion 10 is defined as the upward direction. The left-right direction means the direction orthogonal to the vertical direction in a cross-sectional view when the skin member 20 is cut in a direction intersecting the stitching portion 32 to be described later (preferably, a direction orthogonal to the stitching portion 32), and is the same direction as the left-right direction in the plane of FIG. 1, for example. Further, the left-right direction in the first embodiment and the second embodiment to be described later corresponds to the first direction defined in the claims. The front-back direction means the direction orthogonal to the vertical direction and the left-right direction, and is the same direction as the front-back direction of the plane of FIG. 1, for example.
[0018] The base material portion 10 of the interior member 1 is formed of a synthetic resin and supports the attached skin member 20. The base material portion 10 has an outer surface 11 covered by the skin member 20 and a concave groove portion 12 recessed with respect to the outer surface 11. The concave groove portion 12 of the base material portion 10 is a portion that accommodates and holds a part of the left and right skin side edge portions 23 to be described later in the skin member 20 (specifically, the folded-back edge portion 26 and the lower half of the bent portion 25 in the skin side edge portion 23), and is provided corresponding to the position where the left and right skin side edge portions 23 are arranged in the skin member 20. Further, a base material side adhesive layer 13 is provided on the outer surface 11 of the base material portion 10. In the first embodiment, the base material side adhesive layer 13 is provided corresponding to the formation portion of a second adhesive layer 42 to be described later formed on the skin member 20.
[0019] In the present invention, the material, size, and shape of the base material portion 10, the size and shape of the concave groove portion 12, and the material of the base material side adhesive layer 13 are not particularly limited. Further, the base material portion 10 may be formed without providing the concave groove portion 12 described above, or may be formed without providing the base material side adhesive layer 13.
[0020] In the interior member 1 of the first embodiment, the skin member 20 covers the base material portion 10 from the outside, and a part of the skin member 20 is attached to the base material portion 10 so as to be accommodated in the concave groove portion 12 of the base material portion 10. The skin member 20 includes two skin pieces 21 including a skin main body portion 22 and a skin side edge portion 23, a stitching portion 31 that stitches the two skin pieces 21 together, a first adhesive layer 41 provided on the inner peripheral surface of the skin side edge portion 23 in the skin piece 21, and a second adhesive layer 42 that fixes the skin main body portion 22 of the skin piece 2 to the base material portion 10.
[0021] In the first embodiment, of the two skin pieces 21 forming the skin member 20, the skin piece 21 arranged on one side (for example, the left side) in the left-right direction with respect to the stitching portion 3 is defined as the first skin piece 21a, and the skin piece 21 arranged on the other side (for example, the right side) in the left-right direction is defined as the second skin piece 21b.
[0022] The first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b are thinly formed of a fabric such as cloth or a leather such as synthetic leather. Further, the first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b have a size and shape capable of covering the base material portion 10 and have flexibility. The first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b are stitched together by the stitching portion 31. Further, the stitching portion (butting portion) 32 of the first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b is formed continuously like a single line when the skin member 20 attached to the base material portion 10 is viewed from above (see FIG. 2).
[0023] The first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b of this embodiment 1 each have a skin body portion 22 that covers the base material portion 10 by being arranged along the outer surface 11 of the base material portion 10, and a skin side edge portion 23 that has a shape that is bent into a substantially U shape when viewed in cross-section (Figure 1) intersecting the seam portion 32 of the skin member 20. In this embodiment 1, the cross-section intersecting the seam portion 32 of the skin member 20 (preferably a cross-section perpendicular to the seam portion 32) can also be said to be a cross-section along the left-right direction (first direction). Furthermore, in the following description, the phrase "cross-sectional view of the skin member 20" means when viewing the cross-section intersecting the seam portion 32 of the skin member 20.
[0024] In this embodiment 1, the skin side edge portion 23 is integrally formed with the skin main body portion 22 and extends continuously from the skin main body portion 22. Furthermore, in a cross-sectional view of the skin member 20 (Figure 1), the skin side edge portion 23 extends from the skin main body portion 22 in one direction (left to right) and is then folded back to the other direction (left to right), forming a substantially U-shape.
[0025] This roughly U-shaped skin edge portion 23 has a base end portion 24 that connects to the skin body portion 22, a bent portion 25 that extends from the base end portion 24 in the direction opposite to the skin body portion 22 and is bent, and a folded edge portion 26 that extends further from the bent portion 25 and is superimposed on the back side of the base end portion 24.
[0026] In this case, in a cross-sectional view of the skin member 20 (Figure 1), for example, when a straight line is virtually extended vertically from the position of the tip of the folded edge 26 on the skin side edge 23, the position where this virtual straight line intersects with the skin piece 21 is defined as the boundary portion 27 between the skin main body 22 and the skin side edge 23 on the skin piece 21. Here, the tip of the folded edge 26 refers to the end of the folded edge 26 opposite to the side that connects to the bent portion 25 in the cross-sectional view of the skin member 20 (Figure 1).
[0027] In this embodiment 1, the back surface of the skin member 20 and the back surface of the skin piece 21 refer to the first surface and the second surface of the skin member 20 and the skin piece 21 that are located on opposite sides of each other, and which face or are opposite to the base material 10. The substantially U-shaped skin side edge 23 has an inner circumferential surface located on the inside and an outer circumferential surface facing outwards in the cross-sectional view. In this case, the outer circumferential surface of the base end 24 of the skin side edge 23 forms a part of the surface (outer surface) that is exposed to the outside of the skin piece 21, and the outer circumferential surface of the folded edge 26 of the skin side edge 23 becomes the back surface (inner surface) of the skin piece 21 that faces the base material 10.
[0028] In the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b of this embodiment 1, the proximal end portion 24 of the epidermal lateral edge portion 23 extends inward in the left-right direction from the boundary portion 27 described above, along the epidermal main body portion 22. Here, "inward in the left-right direction" means the direction approaching the opposing epidermal piece 21 to be sutured in the left-right direction.
[0029] The bent portion 25 of the skin side edge 23 extends downward from the edge opposite to the boundary portion 27 at the base end 24, curving inward in a convex shape in the left-right direction. The folded edge 26 of the skin side edge 23 extends outward in the left-right direction from the edge opposite to the side of the bent portion 25 that connects to the base end 24, parallel or approximately parallel to the base end 24.
[0030] The suture portion 31 is formed by sewing together the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, and is also formed by sewing thread that pierces and sews together the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b. In this embodiment 1, in a plan view of the epidermal member 20 from above (Figure 2), the suture portion 32 of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b sewn together by the suture portion 31 (in other words, the butt joint portion 32 of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b) is formed in a curved shape that curves in the left-right direction. As a result, on the back side of the epidermal member 20, for example as shown in Figure 3, wrinkles and distorted shapes 35 are easily formed on the folded edges 26 of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b.
[0031] The first adhesive layer 41 and the second adhesive layer 42 of the skin member 20 are formed by applying adhesive to the skin piece 21. In this embodiment 1, the first adhesive layer 41 is provided on a part of the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24 of the skin side edge portion 23, the entire inner circumferential surface of the bent portion 25, and the entire inner circumferential surface of the folded edge portion 26. By providing the first adhesive layer 41 in this way, the substantially U-shaped bent form of the skin side edge portion 23 can be fixed.
[0032] Furthermore, the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24 at the skin side edge portion 23 has a non-adhesive surface 45 where the first adhesive layer 41 is not provided. In this embodiment 1, the non-adhesive surface 45 provided on the base end portion 24 extends continuously from the boundary portion 27 between the base end portion 24 and the skin main body portion 22 towards the bent portion 25 in a cross-sectional view of the skin member 20 (Figure 1). In this case, the non-adhesive surface 45 of the base end portion 24 is located in an area of 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24, or in an area slightly exceeding 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface.
[0033] Because such a non-adhesive surface 45 is provided at the base end 24 of the epidermal side edge 23, even if a distorted shape 35 or wrinkles, as shown in Figure 3, occur on the folded edge 26 of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, it is difficult to make any protrusions (convex shapes) caused by such distorted shape 35 or wrinkles appear on the outer surface of the epidermal member 20, particularly on the outer surface of the base end 24 of the epidermal side edge 23.
[0034] In this embodiment 1, the second adhesive layer 42 is provided on the back surface (inner surface) of the skin body portion 22 in order to fix the skin member 20 to the base material portion 10. In this embodiment 1, the second adhesive layer 42 only needs to be provided on at least a part of the back surface of the skin body portion 22, and the formation range of the second adhesive layer 42 is not limited.
[0035] In this embodiment 1, the back surface of the epidermal body portion 22 has a non-adhesive surface 45 on which the second adhesive layer 42 is not provided. In this case, the non-adhesive surface 45 of the epidermal body portion 22 extends continuously from the boundary portion 27 between the epidermal body portion 22 and the base end portion 24 in a direction away from the bent portion 25, and is formed continuously with the aforementioned non-adhesive surface 45 of the base end portion 24.
[0036] As described above, the non-adhesive surface 45 of the skin member 20 is continuously formed from the base end 24 of the skin side edge 23 to the skin main body 22 via the boundary portion 27, allowing the skin side edge 23 of the skin member 20 to move slightly along the length of the groove 12 within the groove 12 of the base material 10. This allows the skin side edge 23 of the skin member 20 to be easily inserted and accommodated within the groove 12, following the shape of the groove 12. Furthermore, since the skin side edge 23 of the skin member 20 is less likely to catch on the base material 10 within the groove 12, it is possible to suppress the occurrence of wrinkles or the like on the skin member 20 due to the skin member 20 catching.
[0037] Next, the method for manufacturing the skin member 20 of this embodiment 1 will be described. First, a first epidermal piece 21a and a second epidermal piece 21b are prepared, cut to the required shape. Next, the prepared first epidermal piece 21a and second epidermal piece 21b are subjected to sewing. This sewing process involves inserting the sewing thread through the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b to form a sutured portion 31, and then sewing the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b together at this sutured portion 31.
[0038] Next, a masking 50 is formed on the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, which are sutured together by the suture portion 31, as shown in Figure 4, and a portion of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b is covered by this masking 50. In this case, the masking 50 is formed on one side of the epidermal piece 21 that forms the back surface of the epidermal body portion 22 and the inner circumferential surface of the epidermal side edge portion 23. In this invention, the method of forming the masking 50 is not particularly limited.
[0039] After forming masking 50 on the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, an adhesive layer 40 is formed by applying adhesive to one of the surfaces of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b (see Figure 4). After the adhesive layer 40 is formed, the adhesive layer 40 formed on the masking 50 is removed by peeling off the masking 50 from the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, so that a non-adhesive surface 45 is formed on one of the surfaces of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b. In this case, of the adhesive layers 40 formed on the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, the adhesive layer 40 formed on the side of the epidermal edge 23 closer to the non-adhesive surface 45 becomes the first adhesive layer 41, and the adhesive layer 40 formed on the opposite side of the epidermal edge 23 from the non-adhesive surface 45 becomes the second adhesive layer 42.
[0040] Subsequently, the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, on which the adhesive layer 40 and non-adhesive surface 45 are formed, are each folded at the position of the suture 31 to form a folded portion 25, as shown in Figure 5, and the folded edge portion 26 extending from the folded portion 25 is overlapped with the base end portion 24. At this time, the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b are folded so that the adhesive layer 40 formed on the suture 31 and its surrounding area is enclosed inward, and the adhesive layers 40 are bonded together.
[0041] By performing the above steps, a skin member 20 as shown in Figures 1 to 3 is produced. In the present invention, the method for manufacturing the epidermal member 20 is not particularly limited. For example, in this embodiment 1, the epidermal member 20 is manufactured by sewing together the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b at the suture portion 31, and then forming adhesive layers 40 (first adhesive layer 41 and second adhesive layer 42) on the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b. However, in the present invention, the epidermal member 20 may also be manufactured by forming adhesive layers 40 on the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, and then sewing together the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b, which are equipped with the adhesive layers 40, at the suture portion 31.
[0042] The skin member 20 manufactured by the above process is then attached to a base material 10 having a separately formed groove 12. At this time, as shown in Figure 1, the skin member 20 is attached to the base material 10 by covering the outer surface 11 of the base material 10 with the skin body portion 22 and inserting the skin side edge portion 23 into the groove 12 of the base material 10. Furthermore, the skin body portion 22 is fixed to the base material 10 by bonding the second adhesive layer 42 provided on the skin body portion 22 of the first skin piece 21a and the second skin piece 21b to the base material side adhesive layer 13 provided on the base material 10. In this way, the interior member 1 of this embodiment 1, in which the base material 10 is covered with the skin member 20, is manufactured.
[0043] In the interior member 1 of this embodiment 1, manufactured as described above, a first adhesive layer 41 and a non-adhesive surface 45 are provided on each of the surface edge portions 23 of the first surface piece 21a and the second surface piece 21b. In particular, the non-adhesive surface 45 is provided in a cross-sectional view of the surface member 20 over half of the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24, or slightly more than half of the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24 (i.e., the non-adhesive surface 45 is provided over more than half of the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 24).
[0044] As a result, the roughly U-shaped folded form of the epidermal side edge 23 can be stably maintained by the first adhesive layer 41. Furthermore, even if a distorted shape 35 or wrinkles occur on the folded edge 26 of the first epidermal piece 21a and the second epidermal piece 21b as shown in Figure 3, the distorted shape 35 and wrinkles (especially the outer ends of the distorted shape 35 and wrinkles in the left-right direction) of the folded edge 26 become less likely to be fixed to the base end 24 of the epidermal side edge 23 via the first adhesive layer 41, and the distorted shape 35 and wrinkles become more easily dispersed on the folded edge 26 of the epidermal side edge 23.
[0045] Therefore, it is possible to prevent the appearance of distorted shapes 35 or protrusions (convex shapes) caused by wrinkles on the surface (outer surface) of the outer skin member 20, which is the design surface. As a result, it is possible to prevent or suppress a decrease in the appearance quality of the interior member 1, and thus be able to stably provide an interior member 1 with a good appearance or excellent appearance. [Examples]
[0046] Figure 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view showing the main part of the skin member of this embodiment 2. The surface member 60 of this embodiment 2, shown in Figure 6, is attached, for example, to the base material 10 of the aforementioned embodiment 1 by covering the outer surface 11 of the base material 10 and inserting a part of the surface member 60 into the groove 12 of the base material 10. By attaching the surface member 60 of this embodiment 2 to the base material 10 in this way, an interior member similar to that of embodiment 1 can be formed.
[0047] The skin member 60 of this embodiment 2 comprises two skin pieces 61 (first skin piece 61a and second skin piece 61b) having a skin body portion 62 and a skin side edge portion 63, a suture portion 71 that sews the first skin piece 61a and the second skin piece 61b together, an adhesive layer 80 (first adhesive layer 81) provided on the inner circumferential surface of the skin side edge portion 63 of the skin piece 61, and a decorative stitched portion 87 formed on the skin side edge portion 63.
[0048] The skin member 60 of this embodiment 2 is formed without the second adhesive layer 42 provided on the skin body portion 22 in the above-described embodiment 1, and the entire back surface of the skin body portion 62 is formed as a non-adhesive surface 85. However, in the skin member 60 of this embodiment 2, a second adhesive layer similar to that in the above-described embodiment 1 may be formed on the back surface of the skin body portion 62 of the skin member 60.
[0049] The first epidermal piece 61a, the second epidermal piece 61b, and the suture portion 71 of this embodiment 2 are formed substantially similarly to the first epidermal piece 21a, the second epidermal piece 21b, and the suture portion 31 of the aforementioned embodiment 1. That is, the first epidermal piece 61a and the second epidermal piece 61b of this embodiment 2 each have an epidermal body portion 62 and a substantially U-shaped epidermal side edge portion 63. The substantially U-shaped epidermal side edge portion 63 also has a base portion 64, a bent portion 65, and a folded edge portion 66.
[0050] In this embodiment 2, the first adhesive layer 81 is provided on a part of the inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 64 of the epidermal side edge portion 63, the entire inner circumferential surface of the bent portion 65, and a part of the inner circumferential surface of the folded edge portion 66. This first adhesive layer 81 fixes the substantially U-shaped folded form of the epidermal side edge portion 63.
[0051] The inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 64 and the inner circumferential surface of the folded edge portion 66 of the skin side edge portion 63 each have a non-adhesive surface 85 where the first adhesive layer 81 is not provided. The non-adhesive surface 85 of the base end portion 64 extends continuously from the boundary portion 67 between the base end portion 64 and the skin main body portion 62 toward the folded portion 65 in a cross-sectional view of the skin member 60 (Figure 6), and is located in an area of 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface of the base end portion 64, or in an area slightly exceeding 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface. The non-adhesive surface 85 of the folded edge portion 66 extends continuously from the tip of the folded edge portion 66 toward the folded portion 65, and is located in an area of 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface of the folded edge portion 66, or in an area slightly exceeding 50% of the entire inner circumferential surface.
[0052] In this embodiment 2, the non-adhesive surface 85 of the base end portion 64 and the non-adhesive surface 85 of the folded edge portion 66 are formed with the same or approximately the same area. Furthermore, the non-adhesive surface 85 of the base end portion 64 and the non-adhesive surface 85 of the folded edge portion 66 are arranged so that their entire non-adhesive surfaces 85 face each other in the vertical direction. By providing non-adhesive surfaces 85 facing each other on both the base end portion 64 and the folded edge portion 66 in this way, even if a distorted shape or wrinkles are formed on the folded edge portion 66 of the skin side edge portion 63, it is possible to more effectively prevent or suppress the appearance of protrusions (convex shapes) on the outer surface which is the design surface of the skin member 60 due to these distorted shapes or wrinkles.
[0053] In this invention, when non-adhesive surfaces 85 are provided on both the base end portion 64 and the folded edge portion 66 of the epidermal side edge portion 63, the non-adhesive surfaces 85 of the base end portion 64 and the non-adhesive surfaces 85 of the folded edge portion 66 do not necessarily face each other in the vertical direction across the entire non-adhesive surface 85, but rather may be arranged so that they face each other in the vertical direction in at least a portion of their respective regions.
[0054] In this embodiment 2, the decorative stitched portion 87 is formed by sewing together the base end portion 64 and the folded edge portion 66 of the skin side edge portion 63. In this case, the decorative stitched portion 87 is positioned in the center in the left-right direction of the base end portion 64 and the folded edge portion 66. In this embodiment 2, the folded edge portion 66 of the skin side edge portion 63 is formed to be long in the left-right direction so that both the portion for forming the first adhesive layer 81 and the portion for forming the non-adhesive surface 85 can be formed. Because the folded edge portion 66 is formed to be long in the left-right direction in this way, sewing can be easily performed on the base end portion 64 and the folded edge portion 66 of the skin side edge portion 63, thereby enabling the stable formation of the decorative stitched portion 87.
[0055] The decorative stitching portion 87, when exposed on the outer surface of the skin member 60, can decorate the interior member to which the skin member 60 is attached. This enhances the design or decorative quality of the interior member, or gives the interior member a sense of luxury. The position, range, and method of forming the decorative stitching portion 87 are not particularly limited. Furthermore, the skin member 60 may be formed without the decorative stitching portion 87, for example, as in the above-described embodiment 1.
[0056] An interior component is manufactured by attaching the surface member 60 of this embodiment 2, as described above, to the base material 10. In the interior component manufactured in this way, a first adhesive layer 81 and a non-adhesive surface 85 are provided on each surface edge portion 63 of the first surface piece 61a and the second surface piece 61b. Therefore, the substantially U-shaped folded form of the surface edge portion 63 can be stably maintained. At the same time, as described above, even if a wrinkled shape or creases are formed on the folded edge portion 66 of the surface edge portion 63, it is possible to more effectively prevent or suppress the appearance of protrusions on the outer surface of the surface member 60 caused by such wrinkled shape or creases. Accordingly, by using the surface member 60 of this embodiment 2, it is possible to prevent or suppress a deterioration in the appearance quality of the interior component and to provide an interior component with a good appearance or excellent appearance.
[0057] In the above-described embodiments 1 and 2, a portion of the surface material 20, 60 (specifically, a portion of the surface material side edges 23, 63) is inserted into and housed in the base material 10 provided with the groove portion 12, and the surface material 20, 60 is attached to the base material 10 by covering it with the surface material 20, 60. However, in the present invention, the base material may be formed without providing a groove portion to house a portion of the surface material. That is, the surface material of the present invention can be used attached to a base material formed with a structure that houses a portion of the surface material, or it can be used attached to a base material formed with a structure that does not house the surface material.
[0058] Furthermore, in the above-described Examples 1 and 2, both the first epidermal pieces 21a, 61a and the second epidermal pieces 21b, 61b forming the epidermal members 20, 60 have epidermal side edges 23, 63 on which the first adhesive layers 41, 81 are provided. However, the present invention is also applicable when only one of the first or second epidermal pieces forming the epidermal member has an epidermal side edge on which the first adhesive layer is provided.
