Description

Packaging materials and methods

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a packaging material and a packaging method, and more particularly to a packaging material and a packaging method used for packaging heavy products.

[0002] Conventionally, when packaging a large refrigerator, which is a type of heavy home appliance, the top, sides, and bottom of the product are covered with packaging materials, and these packaging materials are secured with bands. Packaging of the top of the product can be achieved by using only a top cushioning material, by using only a top cardboard box as the packaging material, or by using both a top cushioning material and a top cardboard box as the packaging material. Packaging of the sides of the product typically involves using side cardboard boxes as the packaging material and covering the sides with only the side cardboard boxes. Packaging of the bottom of the product can be achieved by using only a floor cushioning material on which the product is placed, or by using both a floor cushioning material and a bottom cardboard box as the packaging material. These packaging materials are shaped to fit the shape of the product to be packaged. Products such as refrigerators are packaged by securing the packaging materials to the product with bands.

[0003] When transporting a refrigerator covered with packaging material, a transporter may hold a handle on the side cardboard, tilt the refrigerator, and place their hands on a handle on the cushioning material or the cardboard on the floor to lift the refrigerator for transport. Furthermore, when shipping a refrigerator, a transporter may push the side cardboard of the refrigerator while loading the packaged refrigerator onto a truck. In such cases, the side cardboard may come into contact with the product due to contact with the transporter's body or knees, pushing the side cardboard inward and causing scratches or dents on the side of the product. To address this issue, a packaging material has been proposed that provides cushioning material in the center of the inner side of the cardboard, creating a gap between the cardboard and the product, thereby preventing scratches and dents on the product even when the cardboard is pressed against the product by, for example, pressing a knee against the cardboard (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

[0004] Japanese Utility Model Application Laid-Open Publication No. 1-164176

[0005] In packaging materials such as the one described in Patent Document 1, which provides cushioning material in the center of one of the product's four sides, side panels made of cardboard are attached to the product so as to cover the cushioning material, and the side panels are secured with bands at positions spaced apart from the cushioning material on the left and right. Considering a clamp-type forklift lifting a product containing such packaging material by clamping it from both sides with attachments (arms or bale clamps), the side panels are supported by the cushioning material in the areas where they overlap with the cushioning material, thereby preventing deformation of the side panels. Meanwhile, at the corners of the side panels, where the left and right bands are secured, the side panels are distorted inward, resulting in protruding corners. When such packaging material is clamped from both sides with attachments, the force applied from the attachments is concentrated on the corners, causing deformation of the corners and their surrounding areas, which can lead to wrinkles or tears in the side panels around the corners. If wrinkles or tears occur in the side panels, the transporter needs to check the product for scratches or dents. The only way for a transporter to check for scratches or dents on a product is to remove the packaging from the product and check the surface of the product. Therefore, if wrinkles or tears occur on the side panels of the packaging during transport, the transporter has to go through the trouble of checking the surface condition of the product.

[0006] The present disclosure is intended to solve the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide a packaging material and a packaging method that suppresses the occurrence of wrinkles or tears in the side cardboard panels, which are the side panels, when the packaging material containing a product is clamped from the sides and lifted for transport, and suppresses the occurrence of scratches or dents on the product.

[0007] The packaging material disclosed herein comprises a plurality of cushioning materials that are detachably attached to side portions that form the sides of the housing of a product that has a housing, and are covered by cylindrical side cardboard that surrounds the housing, and the plurality of cushioning materials include a pair of cushioning materials that are attached to both ends of the side portion when viewed in a first direction that is the axial direction of the side cardboard and along the surface of the side portion, and are formed to extend in the first direction, and the pair of cushioning materials have contact surface portions that contact the inner surface of the cylindrical side cardboard that surrounds the housing, and are positioned between the side cardboard and the housing, and support the side cardboard from the side where the housing is positioned by the contact surface portions.

[0008] The packaging method disclosed herein is a packaging method for a product having a housing, which uses a plurality of cushioning materials that are detachably attached to side portions that form the side surfaces of the housing and are covered by cylindrical side cardboard that surrounds the housing, and the plurality of cushioning materials include a pair of cushioning materials that are attached to both ends of the side portion when viewed in a first direction that is the axial direction of the side cardboard and along the surface of the side portion, and are formed to extend in the first direction, and the pair of cushioning materials have contact surface portions that contact the inner surface of the cylindrical side cardboard that surrounds the housing, and the pair of cushioning materials are positioned between the side cardboard and the housing, and the contact surface portions support the side cardboard from the side where the housing is positioned.

[0009] The packaging material and packaging method disclosed herein include a pair of cushioning materials attached to both ends of the side wall portion when viewed in a first direction, which is the axial direction of the side wall portion and along the surface of the side wall portion, and formed to extend in the first direction. The pair of cushioning materials are detachably attached to both ends of the side wall portion and positioned between the side wall portion and the housing, separating the side wall portion from the side wall portion and supporting the side wall portion from the inside with their contact surfaces. Therefore, even when the side wall portion is wrapped around and secured to a product with multiple bands, the cushioning material and packaging material prevent the force of the attachment of a clamp-type forklift used to transport the product from being concentrated on the corners of the product. The packaging material and packaging method, as described above, prevent the force of the attachment from being concentrated on the corners of the product during transportation, thereby reducing the occurrence of wrinkles in the side wall portion and the occurrence of tears in the side wall portion.

[0014] 1 and subsequent figures, the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis represent axial directions when the opening / closing surface of the door 220 of the refrigerator, which is the product 200, is considered to be the front side of the packaging material 100. Therefore, the X-axis represents the width direction of the packaging material 100, with the X1 side being the left and the X2 side being the right. The Y-axis represents the depth direction of the packaging material 100, with the Y1 side being the front side and the Y2 side being the rear side. Furthermore, the Z-axis represents the up-down direction of the packaging material 100, with the Z1 side being the top and the Z2 side being the bottom.

[0015] The refrigerator, which is the product 200 to be packaged, is a box or chamber designed to maintain a low temperature inside and is used to cool and store food and other items. The refrigerator is formed in a columnar shape, for example, a rectangular parallelepiped shape. As shown in FIG. 2 , the product 200 has a bottom surface 211, side surfaces 212, and a top surface 213. As shown in FIG. 4 , the side surfaces 212 of the product 200 include a front surface 212a, a left side surface 212b, a rear surface 212c, and a right side surface 212d. The front surface 212a of the product 200 is formed by a door 220. The top surface 213 of the product 200 may also be referred to as the upper surface or ceiling surface of the product 200.

[0016] Product 200 has a housing 210 that forms an outer shell, and at least one or more doors 220 attached to housing 210. Housing 210 is formed in a columnar shape, for example, a rectangular parallelepiped shape. [0017] The housing 210 has, for example, an outer box made of steel plate that forms the outer shell, and an inner box made of thin-walled hard resin such as ABS resin that is placed inside the outer box, with a heat insulating material such as hard urethane foam filled between the outer box and the inner box. The door 220 is provided on the front side of the housing 210 and is used to open and close an opening 215 of the housing 210. The door 220 of the product 200 is, for example, a double-door door or a drawer door.

[0018] The left side surface 212b, rear side surface 212c, and right side surface 212d of the product 200 are formed by the housing 210. That is, the left side surface 212b, rear side surface 212c, and right side surface 212d of the product 200 are the left side surface 212b, rear side surface 212c, and right side surface 212d of the housing 210. The front side portion of the housing 210 forms an opening 215. The front side surface 212a of the product 200 is formed by the front side portion of the door 220.

[0019] [Packaging Material 100] The packaging material 100 is a packaging material for packaging the product 200. The packaging material 100 is used to wrap the product 200 to prevent damage and contamination during transportation of the product 200. The packaging material 100 protects the product 200, which is the object to be packaged, and has impact resistance to protect the product 200 from contact during handling and pressure resistance to protect the product 200 from pressure applied to the product 200. The packaging material 100 includes a plurality of cushioning materials 20 that are detachably attached to side portions 212 that form the sides of the housing 210 of the product 200 that includes a housing 210, and are covered by cylindrical side cardboard 50 that surrounds the housing 210.

[0020] 1 to 3, packaging material 100 has floor cushioning material 10, cushioning material 20, and top cushioning material 30 that are attached to product 200, which is the object to be packaged. Packaging material 100 also has floor cardboard 40, side cardboard 50, and top cardboard 60 that are attached to product 200, which is the object to be packaged, via floor cushioning material 10, cushioning material 20, or top cushioning material 30. Packaging material 100 also has bands 70 that are hung on the outside of floor cardboard 40, side cardboard 50, and top cardboard 60 around product 200.

[0021] (Floor cushioning material 10) Floor cushioning material 10 protects the lower part of refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged. Floor cushioning material 10 is attached along a portion that forms one side of the underside of housing 210, and supports product 200 on floor cardboard 40. Floor cushioning material 10 is attached to product 200 so as to cover the lower part of refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged, from below. When attached to product 200, floor cushioning material 10 covers at least a portion of bottom surface 211 of product 200. Product 200, which is the product to be packaged, is placed on floor cushioning material 10.

[0022] The packaging material 100 has a pair of floor cushioning materials 10 arranged along opposing sides of the bottom surface 211 of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The floor cushioning materials 10 are attached to portions that form opposing sides of the underside of the housing 210 when the housing 210 is viewed in the first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ).

[0023] A pair of floor cushioning materials 10 on which the products 200 are placed are arranged inside the cardboard floor 40 as shown in Fig. 3, and are fixed onto the cardboard floor 40 in a state separated into left and right positions inside the cardboard floor 40. The pair of floor cushioning materials 10 are arranged along the left and right floor cardboard side portions 42 of the cardboard floor 40, which will be described later, as shown in Fig. 3.

[0024] 3, of the floor cushioning materials 10, the floor cushioning material 10 attached to the lower right part of the product 200 is referred to as the right floor cushioning material 10a, and the floor cushioning material 10 attached to the lower left part of the product 200 is referred to as the left floor cushioning material 10b. The floor cushioning material 10 is a general term for the right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b. In the packaging material 100 of the first embodiment, the right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b are formed as separate bodies, but the right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b may also be formed as a single body.

[0025] The right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b are a pair of floor cushioning materials 10 on which the lower part of the product 200 is placed. The right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b are arranged with a gap between them in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The right floor cushioning material 10a and the left floor cushioning material 10b are molded from a synthetic resin material such as polystyrene foam.

[0026] The floor cushioning material 10 is formed so as to extend in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. The floor cushioning material 10 is also formed so as to extend in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The floor cushioning material 10 is formed so as to be longer in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200 than in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The floor cushioning material 10 is formed so as to have a thickness in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0027] When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the floor cushioning material 10 includes a floor-side main body portion 11 that extends in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, and a plurality of protrusions 12 that protrude from the floor-side main body portion 11 in the left-right direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0028] When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the protrusion 12 is formed to be located closer to the center of the product 200 with respect to the floor surface side main body 11 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the protrusion 12 is formed to extend from the floor surface side main body 11 towards the center of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. When the right floor surface cushioning material 10a and the left floor surface cushioning material 10b are attached to the product 200, the protrusion 12 of the right floor surface cushioning material 10a extends towards the arrangement side of the left floor surface cushioning material 10b, and the protrusion 12 of the left floor surface cushioning material 10b extends towards the arrangement side of the right floor surface cushioning material 10a.

[0029] The floor cushioning material 10 includes a cutout portion 13 that forms a portion formed in a notched shape when viewed in the up-down direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The cutout portion 13 forms a space that penetrates the product 200 in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction). Furthermore, when viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the cutout portion 13 is formed so that the opening of the cutout portion 13 is located toward the center of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200, and the opening of the cutout portion 13 opens toward the center. The cutout portion 13 is formed by a portion that is connected and surrounded by the floor surface side main body portion 11 and the protrusion portion 12, and is formed by the side walls of the floor surface side main body portion 11 and the protrusion portion 12.

[0030] (Cushioning material 20) Packaging material 100 has a plurality of cushioning materials 20. Cushioning material 20 is a cushioning material for packaging, and protects side surface 212 of refrigerator, which is product 200, to be packaged. Cushioning material 20 is a cushioning material that can be detachably attached to side surface 212 of refrigerator, which is product 200, to be packaged. Cushioning material 20 is fixed to housing 210 of product 200 by tape, a sticker provided on the back surface of cushioning material 20, or the like.

[0031] When the cushioning material 20 is fixed to the side cardboard box 50, if the cushioning material 20 is attached to the inner surface 50b of the side cardboard box 50 with tape, a seal, or the like, there is a risk that the cushioning material 20 will come off when the side cardboard box 50 is transported. Furthermore, when the cushioning material 20 is fixed to the side cardboard box 50, if the cushioning material 20 is attached to the inner surface 50b of the side cardboard box 50 with tape, a seal, or the like, the cushioning material 20 will come into contact with the product 200 when the side cardboard box 50 is placed over the product 200, and will likely come off the side cardboard box 50.

[0032] For this reason, it is desirable to fix the cushioning material 20 to the inner surface 50b of the cylindrical cardboard side 50 with adhesive, but in that case, there is a problem that it takes time for the adhesive to harden. Also, when the cushioning material 20 is fixed to the inner surface 50b of the cardboard side 50, the thickness of the cardboard side 50 in a folded state is increased by the cushioning material 20 attached to the inner surface 50b, which makes it difficult to stack and transport the cardboard side 50 in a folded state.

[0033] Furthermore, the side cardboard 50 is attached to the housing 210 so as to cover the housing 210 from above, surrounding the housing 210. However, if the cushioning material 20 is fixed to the inner surface 50b of the side cardboard 50, there is a problem that the cushioning material 20 comes into contact with the housing 210 when the side cardboard 50 is attached, and the cushioning material 20 damages the housing 210.

[0034] To solve these problems, the cushioning material 20 is fixed to the side surface 212 of the housing 210 with tape, a sticker, or the like, rather than to the side surface cardboard 50. The cushioning material 20 does not need to be attached to the floor surface cushioning material 10, the top surface cushioning material 30, the floor surface cardboard 40, or the side surface cardboard 50.

[0035] The plurality of cushioning materials 20 are detachably attached to side surfaces 212 that form the sides of the housing 210 of a product 200 that includes a housing 210, and are covered by cylindrical cardboard side surfaces 50 that surround the housing 210. The cushioning materials 20 are disposed between the cardboard side surfaces 50 and the housing 210, and separate the cardboard side surfaces 212 of the product 200 from the cardboard side surfaces 50. The cushioning materials 20 support the cardboard side surfaces 50 from the inside of the cylindrical cardboard side surfaces 50. Note that the cushioning materials 20 may also be referred to as side cushioning materials, as they are cushioning materials attached to the sides of the packaged object.

[0036] As shown in FIG. 2 , the multiple cushioning materials 20 include a pair of cushioning materials 20 attached to both ends of the side surface portion 212 when viewed in a first direction D1, which is the axial direction of the side surface corrugated cardboard 50 and along the surface of the side surface portion 212, and formed to extend in the first direction D1. The first direction D1 is the axial direction of the side surface corrugated cardboard 50 formed in a cylindrical shape. The first direction D1 is also a direction perpendicular to the top surface portion 213 and the bottom surface portion 211 of the side surface portion 212 of the housing 210. The both ends of the side surface portion 212 are both ends facing a second direction D2 perpendicular to the first direction D1, and are both ends in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0037] The pair of cushioning materials 20 are spaced apart from each other in the second direction D2. The second direction D2 is a direction along the surface of the side surface portion 212 and perpendicular to the first direction D1. Note that in Figure 2, the first direction D1 and the second direction D2 are indicated by white arrows. The first direction D1 is, for example, the up-down direction (Z-axis direction), and the second direction D2 is the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0038] A pair of cushioning materials 20 are attached to the left side surface 212b of the housing 210 of the product 200. The pair of cushioning materials 20 are arranged with a space between them in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. Similarly, a pair of cushioning materials 20 are attached to the right side surface 212d of the housing 210 of the product 200. The cushioning materials 20 are formed to be long, and are attached to the housing 210 so that the longitudinal direction of the cushioning materials 20 is the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. The up-down direction (Z-axis direction) is a direction perpendicular to the bottom surface 211 of the product 200.

[0039] 2 and 4 , the packaging material 100 has a pair of cushioning materials 20 attached along edges located on both sides in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the left side surface 212b of the housing 210. The pair of cushioning materials 20 are attached to the left side surface 212b of the housing 210 along a front edge 212b1 and a rear edge 212b2 of the left side surface 212b. The front edge 212b1 is a portion that forms the front edge of the left side surface 212b of the housing 210 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction), and the rear edge 212b2 is a portion that forms the rear edge of the left side surface 212b of the housing 210 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0040] 4, the packaging material 100 has a pair of cushioning materials 20 attached along edges located on both sides in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the right side surface 212d of the housing 210. The pair of cushioning materials 20 are attached to the right side surface 212d of the housing 210 along a front edge 212d1 and a rear edge 212d2 of the right side surface 212d. The front edge 212d1 is a portion that forms the front edge of the right side surface 212d of the housing 210 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction), and the rear edge 212d2 is a portion that forms the rear edge of the right side surface 212d of the housing 210 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0041] 2 and 4 , the cushioning materials 20 attached to the front portions of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as first side surface cushioning materials 20a. Furthermore, the cushioning materials 20 attached to the rear portions of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as second side surface cushioning materials 20b. The term "cushioning materials 20" collectively refers to the first side surface cushioning materials 20a and the second side surface cushioning materials 20b. The front portions of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are the portions on the door 220 side in the depth direction (Y-axis direction). The rear portions of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are the portions on the opposite side of the door 220 in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0042] The first side surface cushioning material 20a attached to the left side surface portion 212b is disposed along the front edge 212b1 of the left side surface portion 212b. The first side surface cushioning material 20a is disposed in a position closer to the front edge 212b1 than the center of the left side surface portion 212b in the depth direction (Y-axis direction). The second side surface cushioning material 20b attached to the left side surface portion 212b is disposed along the rear edge 212b2 of the left side surface portion 212b. The second side surface cushioning material 20b is disposed in a position closer to the rear edge 212b2 than the center of the left side surface portion 212b in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0043] The first side surface cushioning material 20a attached to the right side surface portion 212d is disposed along the front edge 212d1 of the right side surface portion 212d. The first side surface cushioning material 20a is disposed in a position closer to the front edge 212d1 than the center of the right side surface portion 212d in the depth direction (Y-axis direction). The second side surface cushioning material 20b attached to the right side surface portion 212d is disposed along the rear edge 212d2 of the right side surface portion 212d. The second side surface cushioning material 20b is disposed in a position closer to the rear edge 212d2 than the center of the right side surface portion 212d in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0044] If the product 200 to be packed is a refrigerator, providing the cushioning material 20 on the front portion or side portion of the door 220 poses a risk of the door 220 being pushed and deformed by the attachment that clamps the door 220 when the product 200 is clamped using a clamp-type forklift. To avoid this, if the product 200 to be packed is a refrigerator, the cushioning material 20 is attached to the housing 210. The cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210, avoiding the door 220 of the product 200. However, if the product 200 to be packed is something other than a refrigerator, this is not a limitation, and the cushioning material 20 may be attached to the door of the product 200, etc.

[0045] As shown in FIG. 2 , a handle 230 may be provided on the upper rear portion of the product 200. The handle 230 is a portion on which an operator places their hand when transporting the product 200. When the cushioning material 20 is attached near the handle 230, the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface portion 212b and the right side surface portion 212d so as to be positioned lower than the handle 230 to avoid interference with the handle 230. Furthermore, the cushioning material 20 does not need to be fixed to the floor cushioning material 10 or the cardboard floor side surface portion 42. Therefore, the floor cushioning material 10 does not need to have an opening or other configuration for attaching the cushioning material 20. To avoid interference with the cardboard floor side surface portion 42, which constitutes the upper edge of the cardboard floor 40, the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface portion 212b and the right side surface portion 212d so as to be spaced apart from the cardboard floor side surface portion 42 and positioned higher than the cardboard floor side surface portion 42.

[0046] FIG. 5 is a front view of the cushioning material 20 of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment. FIG. 6 is a side view of the cushioning material 20 of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment. FIG. 7 is a rear view of the cushioning material 20 of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment. The front view of FIG. 5 is a view showing the cushioning material 20 in a direction from the front of the left side surface 212b of the product 200 when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface 212b of the product 200. Alternatively, the front view of FIG. 5 is a view showing the cushioning material 20 in a direction from the front of the right side surface 212d of the product 200 when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the right side surface 212d of the product 200. The side view of FIG. 6 is a view showing the cushioning material 20 in a direction from the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200 when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface 212b or the right side surface 212d of the product 200. 7 is a view showing the back side of the cushioning material 20 shown in the front view of Fig. 5. The structure of the cushioning material 20 will be described with reference to Figs. 5 to 7.

[0047] The cushioning material 20 is formed to be long, and has inclined portions 22 at both ends in the longitudinal direction. That is, the cushioning material 20 has inclined portions 22 at the top and bottom ends that form portions that are formed in an oblique shape in a side view. When a worker places the side cardboard boxes 50 over the cushioning material 20 attached to the product 200, the inclined portions 22 serve as guides for moving the side cardboard boxes 50. The inclined portions 22 are provided, for example, from each of the top and bottom ends of the cushioning material 20 toward the center, up to a position 90 mm.

[0048] The inclined portion 22 is a portion of the cushioning material 20 that forms an inclined surface. The inclined portion 22 is formed so that the thickness between the mounting surface portion 27, which is the surface that comes into contact with the product 200, and the inclined surface 28, which is the surface opposite the mounting surface portion 27, becomes thinner from the center of the cushioning material 20 toward the end in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20. In other words, the inclined portion 22 is formed so as to taper from the center of the cushioning material 20 toward the end in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20. The inclined portion 22 has an inclined surface 28. The inclined surface 28 is the surface opposite the mounting surface portion 27 that comes into contact with the product 200, and is inclined with respect to the extension direction of the mounting surface portion 27. In a side view of the cushioning material 20, the inclined surface 28 and the mounting surface portion 27 form an acute angle.

[0049] When the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface 212b of the product 200, the inclined surface 28 located on the upper end side of the cushioning material 20 is inclined so as to have a component facing upward of the product 200 and a component facing the surface of the left side surface 212b. Furthermore, when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the left side surface 212b of the product 200, the inclined surface 28 located on the lower end side of the cushioning material 20 is inclined so as to have a component facing downward of the product 200 and a component facing the surface of the left side surface 212b.

[0050] Similarly, when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the right side surface 212d of the product 200, the inclined surface 28 located on the upper end side of the cushioning material 20 is inclined so as to have a component facing upward of the product 200 and a component facing the surface of the right side surface 212d. Furthermore, when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the right side surface 212d of the product 200, the inclined surface 28 located on the lower end side of the cushioning material 20 is inclined so as to have a component facing downward of the product 200 and a component facing the surface of the right side surface 212d.

[0051] 8 is a conceptual diagram showing the relationship between the product 200, cushioning material 20, and side cardboard box 50 in the packaging material 100 of FIG. 1. Note that in FIG. 8, the cutouts 23 formed inside the cushioning material 20 are indicated by dotted lines. As shown in FIGS. 5 to 8, the cushioning material 20 has a contact surface 21 and an attachment surface 27. The cushioning material 20 is provided in the gap S between the product 200 and the side cardboard box 50. In other words, the cushioning material 20 forms a gap S between the outer wall surface of the product 200 and the inner wall surface of the side cardboard box 50.

[0052] The pair of cushioning materials 20 have contact surface portions 21 that contact the inner surface 50b of the cylindrical side cardboard 50 that surrounds the housing 210. The pair of cushioning materials 20 are arranged between the side cardboard 50 and the housing 210, and support the side cardboard 50 from the side where the housing 210 is arranged by the contact surface portions 21.

[0053] The contact surface portion 21 is a surface that comes into contact with the inner wall of the side cardboard box 50 when the side cardboard box 50 is attached to the product 200. The inner wall of the side cardboard box 50 is a wall that forms the surface facing the product 200 when the side cardboard box 50 is attached to the product 200. The contact surface portion 21 of the cushioning material 20 abuts against the side cardboard box 50 and supports the side cardboard box 50 from the inside when the side cardboard box 50 is placed over the cushioning material 20 attached to the product 200.

[0054] The mounting surface portion 27 is attached to the side surface portion 212 of the housing 210 when the cushioning material 20 is attached to the product 200, and constitutes a surface that abuts against the housing 210 of the product 200. The mounting surface portion 27 is the back surface of the cushioning material 20, and constitutes the surface opposite to the contact surface portion 21.

[0055] As shown in Figures 6 and 7, the cushioning material 20 has a cutout 23 on the back side, which is the side that will be attached to the product 200. The cutout 23 is indicated by a dashed line on the cushioning material 20 in Figure 3. The cutout 23 is a hollow portion of the cushioning material 20. By having the cutout 23, the cushioning material 20 can reduce its mass and save material costs.

[0056] The cutout portion 23 is a portion formed so as to be recessed from the mounting surface portion 27 of the cushioning material 20 into the interior of the cushioning material 20. The cutout portion 23 is formed so as to be recessed from the mounting surface portion 27 toward the inside of the cushioning material 20 from the side where the product 200 is placed toward the side where the side cardboard panels 50 are placed, when the packaging material 100 is packed with the product 200. The cutout portion 23 is recessed inward from the mounting surface portion 27 toward the contact surface portion 21. The cutout portion 23 forms a space inside the cushioning material 20.

[0057] The cutout portion 23 includes a first cutout portion 23 a and a second cutout portion 23 b. More specifically, the cushioning material 20 includes the first cutout portion 23 a formed in the center in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20 and a pair of second cutout portions 23 b spaced apart above and below the first cutout portion 23 a.

[0058] The first cutout portion 23a reduces the mass of the cushioning material 20, thereby reducing the mass of the packaging material 100 and reducing the burden of transporting the packaged product 200. The first cutout portion 23a is also used when dividing the cushioning material 20 when diverting the cushioning material 20 for another purpose, such as when packaging a product other than the product 200. The provision of the first cutout portion 23a in the cushioning material 20 makes it easy to fold and separate the cushioning material 20.

[0059] 7, the first cutout portion 23a is formed in a cross shape in a rear view of the mounting surface portion 27 of the product 200. In a plan view of the mounting surface portion 27 of the product 200, the first cutout portion 23a has a first extending portion 23a1 extending in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20 and a second extending portion 23a2 extending in the lateral direction of the cushioning material 20.

[0060] When the short side direction of the cushioning material 20 is set to the horizontal direction, the cushioning material 20 can be divided at the second extension portion 23a2 provided by extending horizontally from the first cutout portion 23a provided in the center of the cushioning material 20 in the longitudinal direction, thereby adjusting the size of the cushioning material 20. Note that the first cutout portion 23a is not limited to being formed in a cross shape, and may be formed by only the first extension portion 23a1 or the second extension portion 23a2.

[0061] The cushioning material 20 has second cutouts 23b on both sides of the first cutout 23a in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20. The second cutouts 23b reduce the mass of the cushioning material 20, thereby reducing the mass of the packaging material 100 and reducing the burden of transporting the packaged product 200.

[0062] FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment, which includes a modified cushioning material 20A. FIG. 10 is a front view of the modified cushioning material 20A shown in FIG. 9. FIG. 11 is a side view of the modified cushioning material 20A shown in FIG. 10. FIG. 12 is a rear view of the modified cushioning material 20A shown in FIG. 9. FIG. 13 is a conceptual diagram showing the relationship between the product 200, the modified cushioning material 20A, and the side cardboard panels 50 in the packaging material 100 shown in FIG. 1. FIG. 9 is a perspective view of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment, showing a configuration in which the top cardboard panel 60 and the side cardboard panels 50 have been removed. In FIG. 13, the cutouts 23 formed inside the cushioning material 20A are indicated by dotted lines.

[0063] The cushioning material 20 shown in Figures 1 to 8 extends in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200 and is formed as a single block in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. The cushioning material 20A of the modified example shown in Figures 9 to 13 extends in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200 and is formed as two blocks in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. In other words, the cushioning material 20A of the modified example shown in Figures 9 to 13 is arranged separated into upper and lower parts in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0064] The multiple cushioning materials 20A are attached separated in the vertical direction along the first direction D1 (see Figure 2) of the side portion 212, and the thickness of each of the multiple cushioning materials 20A corresponds to the distance of the gap between the housing 210 of the product 200 and the side cardboard 50.

[0065] Similar to the cushioning material 20, the cushioning material 20A of the modified example is attached to the left side surface 212b and the right side surface 212d of the housing 210. The cushioning material 20A is arranged to correspond to the four side surface corners 214 of the rectangular left side surface 212b of the housing 210. Similarly, the cushioning material 20A is arranged to correspond to the four side surface corners 214 of the rectangular right side surface 212d of the housing 210.

[0066] Cushioning materials 20A are arranged at four side corners 214 of left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d, i.e., at the four corners of each of left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d. Cushioning materials 20A are positioned inside cylindrical cardboard side surface 50 when product 200, such as a refrigerator, is packed, and support cardboard side surface 50 from the inside when product 200 is transported.

[0067] The shape of the cushioning material 20A is, for example, 430 mm in length, 50 mm in width, and 25 mm in thickness. The "length" here refers to the length in the longitudinal direction of the cushioning material 20A, which is the up-and-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. The "width" here refers to the length in the lateral direction of the cushioning material 20A, which is the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. The "thickness" here refers to the length in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal and lateral directions of the cushioning material 20A, which is the length in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0068] Of the cushioning materials 20, the cushioning materials 20 attached to the upper front parts of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as first upper side surface cushioning materials 20a1. Of the cushioning materials 20, the cushioning materials 20 attached to the lower front parts of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as first lower side surface cushioning materials 20a2.

[0069] Of the cushioning materials 20, the cushioning materials 20 attached to the upper rear sides of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as second upper side surface cushioning materials 20b1. Of the cushioning materials 20, the cushioning materials 20 attached to the lower rear sides of the left side surface 212b and right side surface 212d of the housing 210 are referred to as second lower side surface cushioning materials 20b2.

[0070] The first upper side cushioning material 20a1 and the first lower side cushioning material 20a2 attached to the left side surface portion 212b are arranged along a front edge portion 212b1 of the left side surface portion 212b. The first upper side cushioning material 20a1 and the first lower side cushioning material 20a2 are arranged in positions closer to the front edge portion 212b1 than to the center of the left side surface portion 212b in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0071] The second upper side cushioning material 20b1 and the second lower side cushioning material 20b2 attached to the left side surface portion 212b are arranged along the rear edge portion 212b2 of the left side surface portion 212b. The second upper side cushioning material 20b1 and the second lower side cushioning material 20b2 are arranged in positions closer to the rear edge portion 212b2 than the center of the left side surface portion 212b in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0072] The first upper side cushioning material 20a1 and the first lower side cushioning material 20a2 attached to the right side surface portion 212d are arranged along a front edge portion 212d1 (see FIG. 4) of the right side surface portion 212d. The first upper side cushioning material 20a1 and the first lower side cushioning material 20a2 are arranged in positions closer to the front edge portion 212d1 than to the center of the right side surface portion 212d in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0073] The second upper side cushioning material 20b1 and the second lower side cushioning material 20b2 attached to the right side surface portion 212d are arranged along the rear edge portion 212d2 (see FIG. 4) of the right side surface portion 212d. The second upper side cushioning material 20b1 and the second lower side cushioning material 20b2 are arranged in positions closer to the rear edge portion 212d2 than the center of the right side surface portion 212d in the depth direction (Y-axis direction).

[0074] Compared to the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20 shown in Figures 1 to 8, the packaging material 100 having the modified cushioning material 20A does not have the cushioning material 20A provided in the central part of the product 200 in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200 when the product 200 is packed.

[0075] That is, in the packaging material 100 having the modified cushioning material 20A, the cushioning material 20A is not provided in the central portions of the left side surface 212b and the right side surface 212d of the product 200 in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. However, when the product 200 is packed in the packaging material 100, the contact surface portion 21 of the modified cushioning material 20A abuts against the side corrugated cardboard box 50 at four side surface corners 214 of each of the left side corrugated cardboard box 52 and the right side corrugated cardboard box 54 of the side corrugated cardboard box 50. With this configuration, the cushioning material 20A suppresses deformation of the four corners 57 formed by the sides of the front side corrugated cardboard box 51, the left side corrugated cardboard box 52, the rear side corrugated cardboard box 53, and the right side corrugated cardboard box 54 of the cylindrically formed side corrugated cardboard box 50.

[0076] Therefore, when packaging the product 200 by surrounding its side surface with cylindrical corrugated cardboard 50, deformation of the corrugated cardboard 50 is suppressed near the corners 57 of the corrugated cardboard 50 even if no cushioning material 20 is provided in the vertical center of the product side surface. In other words, when the product 200 is clamped from the side and lifted for transport using a clamp-type forklift or the like, deformation of the corrugated cardboard 50 is suppressed near the corners 57 of the corrugated cardboard 50. Furthermore, even when a person transports the product 200 by grasping the side handles 55 (see FIG. 1 ) of the corrugated cardboard 50, deformation of the corrugated cardboard 50 is suppressed near the corners 57 of the corrugated cardboard 50.

[0077] Furthermore, the side cardboard 50 and the cushioning material 20 abut at the four corners of each of the left side cardboard 52 and the right side cardboard 54, so even if the center of the side cardboard 50 is pressed from the outside, contact between the product 200 and the side cardboard 50 is suppressed.

[0078] The modified cushioning material 20A also suppresses deformation of the side cardboard boxes 50 and suppresses contact between the product 200 and the side cardboard boxes 50. Therefore, compared to the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20, the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20A can omit the cushioning material 20 in the center portion of the product 200 while protecting the product 200 in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200. Even with a configuration in which cushioning materials 20 are arranged in four locations on one side of the product 200, as with the cushioning material 20A, it is possible to obtain the same effects as the long cushioning material 20, i.e., the effects of suppressing deformation of the side cardboard boxes 50 and suppressing dents on the product 200.

[0079] (Top cushioning material 30) Top cushioning material 30 protects the top of refrigerator, which is product 200, which is the object to be packaged. Top cushioning material 30 is installed along a portion that forms one side of the top surface of housing 210. Top cushioning material 30 is attached to product 200 so as to cover the top of refrigerator, which is product 200, which is the object to be packaged, from above. When attached to product 200, top cushioning material 30 covers at least a portion of top surface 213 of product 200. Top cushioning material 30 is placed on top of product 200, which is the object to be packaged.

[0080] The top surface cushioning material 30 is formed so as to extend in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. The top surface cushioning material 30 is also formed so as to extend in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The top surface cushioning material 30 is formed so as to be longer in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200 than in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The top surface cushioning material 30 is formed so as to have a thickness in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0081] The packaging material 100 has a pair of top cushioning materials 30 arranged along opposing sides of the top surface 213 of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The top cushioning materials 30 are attached to portions that form opposing sides of the top surface of the housing 210 when the housing 210 is viewed in the first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ).

[0082] 2, of the top cushioning materials 30, the top cushioning material 30 attached to the upper right portion of the product 200 is referred to as right top cushioning material 30a, and the top cushioning material 30 attached to the upper left portion of the product 200 is referred to as left top cushioning material 30b. Top cushioning material 30 is a general term for the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b. In the packaging material 100 of the first embodiment, the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are formed as separate bodies, but the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b may also be formed as a single body.

[0083] The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are a pair of top cushioning materials 30 placed on top of the product 200. The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are arranged with a gap between them in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are molded from a synthetic resin material such as polystyrene foam.

[0084] The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are placed over both shoulders of the top surface 213 of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b each have a recess (not shown) formed on the underside that conforms to the shape of the top surface 213 so that the top surface 213 of the product 200 fits into them. The right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b are formed thick around the portions that come into contact with the edges and corners of the top surface 213 of the product 200.

[0085] 2, the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b may have a notch formed in a portion facing the center of the top surface 213. By forming a notch in the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b, the amount of material constituting the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b can be reduced.

[0086] (Floor cardboard 40) Floor cardboard 40 protects the lower part of the refrigerator, which is the product 200 to be packaged. Floor cardboard 40 is installed to cover the lower surface of housing 210. Floor cardboard 40 is attached to product 200 so as to cover the lower part of the refrigerator, which is the product 200 to be packaged, from below. When attached to product 200, floor cardboard 40 covers bottom portion 211 of product 200.

[0087] Floor cushioning material 10 is placed between product 200 and floor cardboard 40. Floor cardboard 40 is attached to product 200 so as to cover the lower part of a refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged, from below via floor cushioning material 10. Product 200, which is the product to be packaged, is placed on floor cardboard 40 via floor cushioning material 10. Product 200 is placed on floor cushioning material 10 provided on floor cardboard 40.

[0088] The cardboard floor 40 is a tray-shaped cardboard material formed to cover the bottom and side surfaces of the right and left floor cushioning materials 10a, 10b. The cardboard floor 40 is formed in a box shape with an open top, and stores a pair of floor cushioning materials 10. In the packaging material 100, the cardboard floor 40 covers the outside of the right and left floor cushioning materials 10a, 10b with respect to the product 200. The cardboard floor 40 is kept covering the right and left floor cushioning materials 10a, 10b with the product 200 placed on them by a band 70 that is hung on the outside of the cardboard floor 40 with respect to the product 200.

[0089] The cardboard floor 40 has a flat bottom plate 41 on which the right and left floor cushioning materials 10a and 10b are placed. The cardboard floor 40 has cardboard side surfaces 42 that are provided along the edges 41a that form the four sides of the bottom plate 41 and extend upward from the edge 41a to form side walls. The cardboard floor 40 has a pair of cardboard side surfaces 42 that face each other in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the cardboard floor 40. The cardboard floor 40 also has a pair of cardboard side surfaces 42 that face each other in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the cardboard floor 40.

[0090] The bottom plate portion 41 is a plate-like member and is formed into a rectangular shape in a plan view. The bottom plate portion 41 has a plurality of L-shaped handles 44 and a plurality of cardboard bottom handles 45 that are used by punching holes during transportation so that the packaging material 100 can be grasped from any of the left and right sides and the front and rear sides of the product 200. The L-shaped handles 44 and the cardboard bottom handles 45 are formed as handles for the packaging material 100 by punching holes in the bottom plate portion 41. The L-shaped handles 44 and the cardboard bottom handles 45 are, for example, portions of the bottom plate portion 41 in which a plurality of through-holes are formed at regular intervals, and are portions that can be easily punched on site by, for example, pressing or cutting.

[0091] When the floor cushioning material 10 is stored in the cardboard floor board 40, the L-shaped handle 44 and the cardboard floor handle 45 are formed in positions that overlap with the space formed by the cutout 13 of the floor cushioning material 10 in the direction in which the plate surface of the bottom plate 41 faces. In other words, when the floor cushioning material 10 is stored in the cardboard floor board 40, the L-shaped handle 44 and the cardboard floor handle 45 are not formed in positions that overlap with the floor-side main body 11 and protrusion 12 of the floor cushioning material 10 in the direction in which the plate surface of the bottom plate 41 faces.

[0092] When carrying out work such as transporting the product 200, a worker can insert his / her hands into the L-shaped handle 44 and the floor cardboard handle 45 and grasp the floor-side main body 11 and the protruding portion 12 of the floor cushioning material 10 as handles. Alternatively, when carrying out work such as transporting the product 200, a worker can insert his / her hands into the L-shaped handle 44 and the floor cardboard handle 45 and grasp the floor cardboard 40 as a handle.

[0093] The cardboard floor side portions 42 are formed to extend along the edge portion 41a of the bottom plate portion 41 and also extend upward (in the Z1 direction) from the bottom plate portion 41. The cardboard floor side portions 42 are plate-like members formed in a rectangular shape. The cardboard floor 40 is formed into a container shape with the bottom plate portion 41 as the bottom by bending the bottom plate portion 41 and the four cardboard floor side portions 42 to connect the cardboard floor side portions 42 together and form the side walls of the cardboard floor 40.

[0094] (Side cardboard 50) Side cardboard 50 protects side surface 212 of refrigerator, which is product 200, which is the packaged object. Side cardboard 50 is attached to product 200 so as to cover side surface 212 of refrigerator, which is product 200, which is the packaged object. Side cardboard 50 is formed in a cylindrical shape that surrounds housing 210. Side cardboard 50 is formed in a hollow quadrangular prism shape and has four corners 57.

[0095] The side cardboard 50 is fixed to the side portion 212 of the housing 210 via multiple cushioning materials 20 by wrapping bands 70 around the outer surface 60a of the top cardboard 60, the outer surface 50a of the side cardboard 50, and the outer surface 40a of the floor cardboard 40.

[0096] 4, the side corrugated board 50 includes a front side corrugated board 51, a left side corrugated board 52, a rear side corrugated board 53, and a right side corrugated board 54. The front side corrugated board 51, the left side corrugated board 52, the rear side corrugated board 53, and the right side corrugated board 54 are each formed in a plate shape. The thickness of the side corrugated board 50 is 5 mm, for example, but is not limited to 5 mm and may be thinner or thicker than 5 mm.

[0097] When packaging the product 200 as the packaged object, the worker places the cylindrical cardboard side panel 50 over the product 200 to cover the side surface 212 of the product 200. The cardboard side panel 50 is placed over the product 200 and attached to the product 200 so as to surround the side surface 212 of the product 200 and the cushioning material 20.

[0098] The side cardboard box 50 may be provided with a plurality of side cardboard handles 55 that are used by punching holes when transporting the product 200. When transporting the product 200 or performing other tasks, a worker can insert their hand into the side cardboard handle 55 and grasp the side cardboard box 50 as a handle.

[0099] (Top cardboard 60) Top cardboard 60 protects the top of the refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged. Top cardboard 60 covers the top surface of housing 210 and is placed on top cushioning material 30. Top cardboard 60 is attached to product 200 so as to cover the top of the refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged, from above.

[0100] When attached to product 200, top cardboard box 60 covers top surface 213 of product 200. Top cushioning material 30 is arranged between product 200 and top cardboard box 60. In other words, top cardboard box 60 is attached to product 200 so as to cover from above the top of the refrigerator, which is product 200 to be packaged, via top cushioning material 30. Top cardboard box 60 is placed on top of product 200 via top cushioning material 30.

[0101] The top cardboard 60 is a plate-like member formed into a flat plate shape. In the packaging material 100, the top cardboard 60 is placed on the outside of the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b of the product 200. A band 70 is attached to the outside of the top cardboard 60, so that the top cardboard 60 remains covering the right top cushioning material 30a and the left top cushioning material 30b placed on the product 200.

[0102] The top corrugated board 60 and the side corrugated board 50 may be formed integrally or separately. When the top corrugated board 60 and the side corrugated board 50 are formed integrally, they are formed in a columnar shape. When the top corrugated board 60 and the side corrugated board 50 are formed integrally, they are formed in a box shape with a hollow interior and an opening on the bottom of each of the six sides.

[0103] (Bands 70) The packaging material 100 has a plurality of bands 70 wrapped around the outer surface 60a of the top cardboard 60, the outer surface 50a of the side cardboard 50, and the outer surface 40a of the floor cardboard 40. The bands 70 are used to maintain the floor cushioning material 10, the cushioning material 20, and the top cushioning material 30 attached to the product 200, covered with the floor cardboard 40, the side cardboard 50, and the top cardboard 60. In the packaging material 100, the floor cushioning material 10, the cushioning material 20, the top cushioning material 30, the floor cardboard 40, the side cardboard 50, and the top cardboard 60 are restrained by the bands 70. The top cardboard 60, the side cardboard 50, and the floor cardboard 40 are fixed by wrapping the plurality of bands 70 vertically around the sides of the product 200. The bands 70 are, for example, PP bands (polypropylene bands). The width of the band 70 is, for example, 19 mm.

[0104] The bands 70 are placed around the outside of the top cardboard box 60, the side cardboard box 50, and the floor cardboard box 40 of the product 200. The worker wraps the bands 70 around the product 200 in the vertical direction and tightens them to secure the top cardboard box 60, the side cardboard box 50, and the floor cardboard box 40 together.

[0105] When the product 200 is packed in the packaging material 100, the band 70 may or may not overlap the cushioning material 20 via the side cardboard 50. In other words, when the product 200 is packed in the packaging material 100, the side cardboard 50 may or may not be sandwiched between the band 70 and the cushioning material 20.

[0106] As described above, the packaging method using the packaging material 100 uses a plurality of cushioning materials 20 that are detachably attached to the side surface portion 212 that forms the side surface of the housing 210 of the product 200 that includes the housing 210, and that are covered by the cylindrical side surface cardboard 50 that surrounds the housing 210. The plurality of cushioning materials 20 include a pair of cushioning materials 20 that are attached to both ends of the side surface portion 212 when viewed in a first direction D1 that is the axial direction of the side surface cardboard 50 and along the surface of the side surface portion 212, and that are formed to extend in the first direction D1. The pair of cushioning materials 20 have contact surface portions 21 that contact the inner surface 50b of the cylindrical side surface cardboard 50 that surrounds the housing 210, and are positioned between the side surface cardboard 50 and the housing 210, and support the side surface cardboard 50 from the side where the housing 210 is located by the contact surface portions 21.

[0107] With the pair of cushioning materials 20 attached to the side surface portions 212 , the worker places the cylindrical cardboard side surface 50 over the product 200 from the top surface portion 213 side of the housing 210 .

[0108] 14 is a perspective view of a packaging material 100L according to a comparative example, in which a product 200 is packed. The packaging material 100L according to the comparative example is a packaging material disclosed in, for example, a prior art document, and is a conventionally used packaging material.

[0109] The packaging material 100L according to the comparative example has a floor cardboard 40L, side cardboard 50L, top cardboard 60L, and a band 70L. The top cardboard 60L of the packaging material 100L covers the top and upper part of the product 200. The side cardboard 50L of the packaging material 100L is arranged to cover the side of the product 200 when the side of the product 200 is viewed from the front. The floor cardboard 40L of the packaging material 100L covers the bottom and lower part of the product 200 from below.

[0110] The floor cardboard boxes 40L, the side cardboard boxes 50L, and the top cardboard boxes 60L are fixed to the product 200 by bands 70L. In the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example, cushioning material 20L is provided near the center of the side cardboard boxes 50L in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. In the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example, cushioning material 20L is provided near the center of the side cardboard boxes 50L in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, protecting the product 200 from forces applied to the side cardboard boxes 50L.

[0111] Although the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example does not have a floor cushioning material or a top cushioning material, the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example may have a floor cushioning material and a top cushioning material. In this case, the floor cushioning material of the packaging material 100L is placed between the floor cardboard 40L and the product 200, and covers the bottom and lower part of the product 200 from below. In addition, the top cushioning material of the packaging material 100L is placed between the top cardboard 60L and the product 200, and covers the top and upper part of the product 200.

[0112] 15 is a conceptual diagram showing an example of a clamp-type forklift 300 that transports a product 200 packaged in packaging material 100 according to embodiment 1. Clamp-type forklift 300 has a pair of attachments 310 for clamping a refrigerator, which is product 200, and moving it up, down, left, and right.

[0113] The clamp-type forklift 300 has two attachments 310, one on each side, at the front of the clamp-type forklift 300. The pair of attachments 310 are arranged side by side on the left and right when the clamp-type forklift 300 is viewed from the front. The pair of attachments 310 open and close left and right when the operator operates the clamp-type forklift 300, and clamp and hold the sides of the product 200.

[0114] The attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300 has a metal plate 315 that constitutes a bale clamp, which serves as an arm that clamps and lifts the packaging material 100 containing the product 200. This metal plate 315 is provided with rubber such as attachment rubber 320a and attachment rubber 320b on the surface that comes into contact with the packaging material 100 in order to prevent the packaging material 100 from slipping and to reduce the impact when the metal plate 315 comes into contact with the packaging material 100. The attachment rubber 320a and the attachment rubber 320b are collectively referred to as attachment rubber 320.

[0115] The pair of attachments 310 each have two attachment rubbers 320a and 320b spaced apart vertically on the inner surfaces facing each other. When the forward and backward directions of the clamp-type forklift 300 are defined as the depth direction of the clamp-type forklift 300, the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b are provided so as to extend in the depth direction.

[0116] When the direction parallel to the ground is defined as the horizontal direction, the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b are provided to extend horizontally, for example. The vertical width and depth width of the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b are formed to be widths that can hold the product 200 etc. to be transported.

[0117] Fig. 16 is a conceptual diagram showing an example of transporting packaging material 100 in which products 200 are packed using the clamp-type forklift 300 shown in Fig. 15. The clamp-type forklift 300 clamps and lifts one or more products 200 between a pair of attachments 310 for transport. The clamp-type forklift 300 clamps and lifts the products 200 from the side between the attachments 310 while aligning the top and bottom positions of the buffer material 20 with the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b of the attachments 310 for transport.

[0118] 17 is a front view of the inner surface of the attachment 310. The inner surface of the attachment 310 is the surface that comes into contact with the side cardboard 50 of the packaging material 100. As shown in FIG. 17 , the attachment 310 has, on its inner surface, attachment rubbers 320a and 320b that are spaced apart vertically and extend horizontally in accordance with the positions of the cushioning material 20.

[0119] 18 is a front view of the inner surface of an attachment 310L according to a comparative example. The attachment 310L according to the comparative example is an attachment used when transporting a product 200 packaged in the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example. The attachment 310L has attachment rubber 340 that extends vertically to correspond to the position of the cushioning material 20L.

[0120] Figure 19 is a top view of the attachment 310 and the packaging material 100R when the packaging material 100R does not have cushioning material 20 on the sides of the product 200. Figure 19 schematically shows the deformation that occurs in the side cardboard 50R of the packaging material 100R when the packaging material 100R is clamped and lifted by the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300. The white arrow F1 in Figure 19 indicates the direction of movement of the attachment 310 when clamping the packaging material 100R.

[0121] Packaging material 100R is formed by wrapping bands 70 around the top and bottom surfaces of cardboard boxes 60, cardboard boxes on the sides 50, and cardboard boxes on the floor 40 (see FIG. 1) in a vertical direction, and fastening them together. Packaging material 100R does not have any cushioning material 20 between cardboard boxes on the sides 50 and product 200, so there is nothing to support cardboard boxes on the sides of product 200. Therefore, when viewing packaging material 100R in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction), cardboard boxes on the sides 50 bend inward as they move away from corners 57R at both ends of the side surfaces of cardboard boxes 50, causing them to dent and deform toward product 200, as shown in center portion 510.

[0122] When the warped packaging material 100R is pinched and lifted by the attachments 310, a concentrated force is applied to the corner 57R in the direction of the white arrow F1. Because the concentrated force is applied to the corner 57R of the packaging material 100, the corner 57R of the side cardboard 50 is prone to wrinkles and dents.

[0123] Fig. 20 is a top view of the attachment 310 and the packaging material 100 when the packaging material 100 of embodiment 1 is used. Fig. 20 schematically shows deformation that occurs in the packaging material 100 when the packaging material 100 of embodiment 1 is used and the packaging material 100 is clamped and lifted by the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300.

[0124] As shown in Figure 20, the side cardboard box 50 is fixed to the product 200 with the center portion 510 wrapped around the band 70 bending inward and deforming by recessing toward the product 200. When the side cardboard box 50 is fixed to the side portion 212, the contact surface portion 21 of the cushioning material 20 comes into contact with the inner surface 50b, and the side cardboard box 50 is supported from the inside by the cushioning material 20. The center portion 510 and the side portion 212 are not in contact with each other and are separated. The position of the side cardboard box 50 in the X-axis and Y-axis directions relative to the product 200 is fixed by the band 70.

[0125] Packaging material 100 is fastened by wrapping bands 70 around the top, bottom, and bottom surfaces of cardboard boxes 60, 50, and 40 (see FIG. 1) in a vertical direction. Packaging material 100 of the first embodiment includes cushioning material 20 between cardboard boxes 50 and product 200. Even when cardboard boxes 50 are fastened by bands 70, flexing is suppressed in the areas above and below where cushioning material 20 is provided. Therefore, corners 57 are maintained at angles closer to right angles than in the configuration of packaging material 100R shown in FIG. 19.

[0126] Because the angles of the corners 57 of the packaging material 100 are maintained at nearly right angles, even when the side cardboard boxes 50 are clamped by the clamp-type forklift 300, the force in the direction of the outline arrow F1 is distributed and applied to the side cardboard boxes 50 around the corners 57. Because the force in the direction of the outline arrow F1 is distributed and applied to the side cardboard boxes 50 around the corners 57 of the packaging material 100, the occurrence of wrinkles and dents in the corners 57 of the side cardboard boxes 50 is suppressed compared to the packaging material 100R.

[0127] The plurality of cushioning materials 20 and 20A, as well as the packaging material 100, include a pair of cushioning materials 20 or 20A attached to both ends of the side surface portion 212 and formed to extend in the first direction D1 when viewed in a first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ) that is the axial direction of the side surface corrugated cardboard 50 and along the surface of the side surface portion 212. The pair of cushioning materials 20 or 20A are detachably attached to both ends of the side surface portion 212, and are disposed between the side surface corrugated cardboard 50 and the housing 210 to separate the side surface portion 212 and the side surface corrugated cardboard 50, and support the side surface corrugated cardboard 50 from the inside by the contact surface portion 21.

[0128] Therefore, even when the side cardboard panels 50 are wrapped around and secured to the product 200 by a plurality of bands 70, the packaging material 100 and the like prevent the force of the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300 transporting the product 200 from being concentrated on the corners of the product 200. The cushioning material 20 and the packaging material 100 are configured as described above to prevent the force of the attachment 310 from being concentrated on the corners of the product 200 when the product 200 is transported, thereby preventing wrinkles from occurring in the side cardboard panels 50 and preventing tears from occurring in the side cardboard panels 50. Furthermore, because the product 200 is covered by the side cardboard panels 50, scratches and dents on the product 200 are prevented.

[0129] Fig. 21 is a top view of the attachment 310 and the packaging material 100L when the packaging material 100L of the comparative example is used. Fig. 21 schematically shows the deformation that occurs in the packaging material 100L when the packaging material 100L of the comparative example is clamped and lifted by the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300. In Fig. 21, three portions of the packaging material 100L are fastened with bands 70. The attachment 310 used in this case has the configuration of the attachment 310 shown in Fig. 17, which has attachment rubbers 320a and 320b.

[0130] In the packaging material 100L of the comparative example, the band 70 is wrapped around the top surface 60L, the side surface 50L, and the floor surface 40L (see FIG. 14 ) to be fastened together. Even when the band 70 is wrapped around the top surface 60L, the side surface 50L, and the floor surface 40L to be fastened together, the central portion 520 having the cushioning material 20L is prevented from sagging.

[0131] In the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example, the band 70 causes deflection in the intermediate portion 530 located between the center portion 520 and the corner 57L formed in the side cardboard panel 50L. When the packaging material 100L is lifted by clamping it from the left and right with the attachment 310 in this state, the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b (see FIG. 17 ) apply a concentrated force to the corner 57L in the direction of the outline arrow F1. Because the force is concentrated on the corner 57L, the packaging material 100L is prone to wrinkles and dents at the corner 57L of the side cardboard panel 50L.

[0132] Fig. 22 is a top view of the attachment 310L and the packaging material 100L when the packaging material 100L of the comparative example is used. Fig. 22 schematically shows deformation that occurs in the packaging material 100L when the packaging material 100L of the comparative example is clamped and lifted by the attachment 310L of the clamp-type forklift 300. Note that Fig. 22 shows only the portion of the attachment 310L that has the attachment rubber 340, and does not show other portions of the attachment 310L.

[0133] To conserve rubber, the attachment 310L is provided with attachment rubber 340 only in the portion facing the buffer material 20L. The attachment rubber 340 is provided to extend in the vertical direction so as to face the buffer material 20L. The attachment 310L used in this case has the configuration of the attachment 310L having the attachment rubber 340 shown in Figure 18.

[0134] The packaging material 100L according to the comparative example is lifted up by being sandwiched between a pair of attachments 310L from the left and right with bands 70 fastened to the top cardboard 60, the side cardboard 50, and the floor cardboard 40. At this time, the central portion 520 of the packaging material 100L, which has the cushioning material 20L, has the side cardboard 50L supported from the inside by the cushioning material 20L, so even when the side cardboard 50L is pressed by the attachment rubber 340, the occurrence of wrinkles is suppressed.

[0135] Furthermore, the corners 57L of the side cardboard panels 50L do not come into contact with the rubber attachment 340, which reduces the occurrence of wrinkles. However, the rubber attachment 340 of the attachment 310L is only provided in the center of the attachment 310L in the depth direction of the clamp-type forklift 300. Therefore, the transporter operating the clamp-type forklift 300 needs to operate the clamp-type forklift 300 so that the rubber attachment 340 overlaps the area where the cushioning material 20L of the packaging material 100L is placed.

[0136] Furthermore, because the shape of the attachment rubber 340 extends in the vertical direction, the attachment rubber 340 does not face each of the buffer materials 20L of the multiple packaging materials 100L, so the clamp-type forklift 300 may not be able to transport multiple packaging materials 100L at once.

[0137] Here, we consider a case where multiple rubber attachments 340 extending vertically from the metal plate 315 (see FIG. 18 ) are provided in the depth direction of the clamp-type forklift 300 to accommodate the transportation of multiple packaging materials 100L. For example, we consider a case where two rubber attachments 340 are provided horizontally, with two rubber attachments 340 for each product 200 to be packaged attached to the attachment 310L. In such a case, when transporting the packaging materials 100L containing the products 200, the transporter operating the clamp-type forklift 300 must clamp the packaging materials 100L so that each rubber attachment 340 overlaps the portion of the cushioning material 20L of each packaging material 100L. This makes it more difficult for the transporter operating the clamp-type forklift 300 to operate the forklift compared to when the attachment 310 is used.

[0138] Compared to the packaging material 100L according to the comparative example, the packaging material 100 having the modified cushioning material 20A (see FIG. 9 ) does not have cushioning material 20 provided in the center in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the left side surface 212b and the right side surface 212d of the product 200. Therefore, the attachment 310 used to transport the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20A can omit the attachment rubber in the center in the up-down direction compared to an attachment in which the attachment rubber is provided on the entire inner surface that contacts the packaging material 100. In other words, the attachment 310 used to transport the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20A can reduce the area of the rubber provided on the attachment 310 and the amount of rubber used compared to an attachment in which the attachment rubber is provided on the entire surface that contacts the packaging material 100.

[0139] Furthermore, the packaging material 100 (see FIG. 9 ) having the modified cushioning material 20A has the cushioning material 20A provided in two upper and lower portions at both ends in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the left side surface 212b and the right side surface 212d of the product 200. The carrier operating the clamp-type forklift 300 clamps the packaging material 100 with the attachment 310 by aligning the heightwise positions of the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b provided on the attachment 310 with the cushioning material 20.

[0140] When the transporter operates the clamp-type forklift 300 in this manner, even if the attachment 310 pinches and lifts the packaging material 100 from the left and right, the attachment rubber 320a and the attachment rubber 320b come into contact with the side cardboard 50 supported by the cushioning material 20. Therefore, the packaging material 100 can be prevented from wrinkling at the corners 57 thereof, and can also be prevented from denting at the corners 57 thereof.

[0141] Furthermore, in the packaging material 100, two cushioning materials 20 spaced apart in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) are attached to the side surface 212 of the product 200 with the heights of their installation positions aligned. Alternatively, in the packaging material 100, two cushioning materials 20A spaced apart in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) are attached to the side surface 212 of the product 200 with the heights of their installation positions aligned. The attachment 310 is provided so that the attachment rubber 320a and the attachment rubber 320b are spaced apart from each other in the vertical direction and extend horizontally.

[0142] When transporting the product 200, the transporter simply clamps the product 200 packed in the packaging material 100 with the attachment 310 so that the heights of the attachment rubbers 320a and 320b and the cushioning material 20 are aligned. Therefore, even if the area of the rubber provided on the attachment 310 is reduced compared to an attachment in which the attachment rubber is provided on the entire surface that contacts the packaging material 100, the transporter can clamp and transport multiple products 200 with the attachment 310 at once. When the packaging material 100 is used, the transporter does not have difficulty operating the clamp-type forklift 300 compared to when the attachment rubbers 340 are clamped so that they overlap the portions of the cushioning material 20L of each packaging material 100L as shown in FIG. 22 .

[0143] Furthermore, the cushioning materials 20 and 20A are formed to a predetermined specific thickness. Because the cushioning materials 20 and 20A have a thickness, when the product 200 is packaged in the packaging material 100, a gap is formed between the side cardboard 50 and the side portion 212 of the product 200 by the cushioning materials 20 or 20A. The thickness of each of the multiple cushioning materials 20 or 20A corresponds to the distance of the gap between the housing 210 of the product 200 and the side cardboard 50.

[0144] When the product 200 is viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction), even if the center portion of one side of the side cardboard box 50 is pressed, the back surface of the side cardboard box 50, which faces the product, does not reach the side surface 212 of the product 200, because the side cardboard box 50 is cylindrical. Therefore, the packaging material 100 having the cushioning material 20 or 20A prevents contact between the side cardboard box 50 and the side surface 212 of the product 200.

[0145] Furthermore, the multiple cushioning materials 20A are attached while being separated in the vertical direction along the first direction D1 of the side surface portion 212. Therefore, the packaging material 100 having multiple cushioning materials 20A can reduce the mass of the cushioning materials 20A in the vertical center portion compared to a packaging material 100 having cushioning materials 20 that are not separated in the vertical direction along the first direction D1. Therefore, the packaging material 100 having multiple cushioning materials 20A can reduce material costs compared to a packaging material 100 having cushioning materials 20 that are not separated in the vertical direction along the first direction D1.

[0146] Furthermore, cushioning material 20 and cushioning material 20A have inclined portions 22 that form inclined surfaces 28 at their leading ends in first direction D1, which is the longitudinal direction. When packaging product 200, which is a refrigerator, a worker places side cardboard box 50 over product 200 so as to insert product 200 inside cylindrical side cardboard box 50. Because cushioning material 20 and cushioning material 20A have inclined portions 22, when a worker places side cardboard box 50 over product 200, inclined surfaces 28 of inclined portions 22 make side cardboard box 50 easier to slide on inclined surfaces 28, making it easier to place side cardboard box 50 over product 200. Therefore, cushioning material 20 and cushioning material 20A, and packaging material 100, improve the worker's workability.

[0147] Furthermore, the cushioning material 20 and the cushioning material 20A have a lightening portion 23 formed in a recessed state from the attachment surface portion 27, which is the back surface of the contact surface portion 21, into the interior of the cushioning material 20, etc. By having the lightening portion 23, the cushioning material 20 and the cushioning material 20A can reduce the mass of the cushioning material 20A and the cost of the cushioning material 20A. Furthermore, by having the lightening portion 23, when the cushioning material 20 and the cushioning material 20A are subjected to an external force, the cushioning material 20 and the cushioning material 20A can deform inside the cushioning material 20 to absorb the external force, thereby alleviating the pressure on the product 200.

[0148] The packaging material 100 also includes a top cushioning material 30, a top cardboard sheet 60, side cardboard sheets 50, a floor cardboard sheet 40, a floor cushioning material 10, and a cushioning material 20. Because the packaging material 100 covers the product 200 with these components, scratches on the product 200 are suppressed, and dents on the product 200 are also suppressed.

[0149] Furthermore, the side cardboard boxes 50 are fixed to the side portion 212 via a plurality of cushioning materials 20 or cushioning materials 20A by wrapping bands 70 around the outer surface 60a of the top cardboard box 60, the outer surface 50a of the side cardboard box 50, and the outer surface 40a of the floor cardboard box 40. A pair of cushioning materials 20 or cushioning materials 20A are detachably attached to both ends of the side portion 212, and are arranged between the side cardboard boxes 50 and the housing 210 to separate the side portion 212 and the side cardboard boxes 50, and the contact surface portion 21 supports the side cardboard boxes 50 from the inside.

[0150] Therefore, even when the side cardboard panels 50 are wrapped around and secured to the product 200 by a plurality of bands 70, the packaging material 100 and the like prevent the force of the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300 transporting the product 200 from being concentrated on the corners of the product 200.

[0151] Furthermore, product 200 is a refrigerator. Therefore, the above-described configuration of cushioning material 20 and packaging material 100 prevents the force of attachment 310 from being concentrated on the corners of the refrigerator when the refrigerator is transported, thereby preventing wrinkles from occurring in side cardboard panels 50 and preventing tears from occurring in side cardboard panels 50. Furthermore, because the refrigerator is covered by side cardboard panels 50, scratches occurring in product 200 and preventing dents occurring in product 200 are prevented.

[0152] Embodiment 2. Figure 23 is a top view of the top cushioning material 30 and side cardboard 50 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 2. Figure 24 is a top view showing the top cushioning material 30 shown in Figure 23 alone. In Figure 23, the position of the cushioning material 20 located below the top cushioning material 30 is indicated by a dashed line. Parts having the same configuration as those in the packaging material 100 of Figures 1 to 22 are given the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted. In Figure 23, the right side of the paper surface corresponds to the front side of the product 200.

[0153] The packaging material 100 of the second embodiment differs from the top cushioning material 30 of the first embodiment in the structure of the top cushioning material 30 used in the packaging material 100. The configuration of the packaging material 100 of the second embodiment other than the top cushioning material 30 is the same as the configuration of the packaging material 100 of the first embodiment.

[0154] In the packaging material 100 according to the second embodiment, a pair of top cushioning materials 30 are placed along opposing sides of the top surface 213 of the product 200 so as to cover a portion of the top surface 213 and the side surface 212 .

[0155] The top surface cushioning material 30 includes a top surface side main body portion 31 that extends along a portion that forms one side of the top surface of the housing 210, and a protruding portion 32 that protrudes from the top surface side main body portion 31 in a direction that faces the surface of the side surface portion 212 of the housing 210 and toward the outside of the product 200. In other words, when viewed in the up-and-down direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200, the top surface cushioning material 30 includes the top surface side main body portion 31 that extends in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, and the protruding portion 32 that protrudes from the top surface side main body portion 31 in the left-right direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0156] The top surface cushioning material 30 has a protruding portion 32 that protrudes outward from a portion that constitutes the outer surface of the top surface side main body portion 31 along the side of the product 200. The outer surface of the top surface side main body portion 31 is the side that is located opposite the center of the product 200 when viewed in the up-and-down direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200, and the outward direction refers to the direction from the center of the product 200 toward the outside.

[0157] When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the protruding portion 32 is formed to be located outside the product 200 with respect to the top surface side main body portion 31 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the protruding portion 32 is formed to bulge outward from the top surface side main body portion 31 to the outside of the product 200 in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0158] The worker places the cylindrical cardboard side panel 50 over the top surface 213 of the product 200, surrounds the product 200 with the cardboard side panel 50, and installs the top cushioning material 30 on the top surface 213 of the product 200 so that it is inserted into the gap between the cardboard side panel 50 and the side surface 212 of the product 200. In this case, the top cardboard panel 60 and the cardboard side panel 50 of the packaging material 100 are separate bodies.

[0159] When the top cardboard 60 and the side cardboard 50 are one piece, the worker installs the top cushioning material 30 on the top portion 213 of the product 200, then covers the top portion 213 of the product 200 with the cylindrical side cardboard 50, and surrounds the side portion 212 of the product 200 with the side cardboard 50.

[0160] [Effects of packaging material 100] Top cushioning material 30 includes a top main body portion 31 that extends along a portion that forms one side of the top surface of housing 210, and a protruding portion 32 that protrudes from top main body portion 31 in a direction that faces side portion 212 of housing 210 and toward the outside of product 200. Because top cushioning material 30 has protruding portion 32, side cardboard 50 that abuts against protruding portion 32 is supported by protruding portion 32 from the product 200 side, and is caused by protruding portion 32 to bulge outward in the direction opposite to the side on which product 200 is placed.

[0161] In the packaging material 100 according to the second embodiment, when a transporter clamps the side cardboard box 50 with the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300, the bulging portion 56 of the side cardboard box 50, which is the portion bulged out by the protruding portion 32, comes into contact with the metal plate 315 of the attachment 310. More specifically, when the attachment 310 clamps the side cardboard box 50, the bulging portion 56 of the side cardboard box 50, which is the portion bulged out by the protruding portion 32, comes into contact with the attachment rubber 320a of the attachment 310.

[0162] Even when attachment 310 applies force to product 200 from the left and right, pushing side cardboard boxes 50 in, protruding portion 32 prevents corners 57 of side cardboard boxes 50 from coming into contact with attachment 310. Therefore, in addition to the effect of packaging material 100 of embodiment 1, which is provided with cushioning material 20, packaging material 100 according to embodiment 2 can further prevent wrinkles from occurring at corners 57 of side cardboard boxes 50 and the like, and can also prevent tears from occurring.

[0163] Embodiment 3. Figure 25 is a top view of the cushioning material 20 and side cardboard 50 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 3. Figure 26 is an enlarged view of a corner 57 of the side cardboard 50 and its surrounding area of the packaging material 100 of embodiment 3. Note that Figure 26 is an enlarged view of region A of the packaging material 100 and product 200 shown in Figure 25. Parts having the same configuration as those in the packaging material 100 of Figures 1 to 24 are designated by the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted. In Figure 25, the bottom side of the paper is the front side of the product 200.

[0164] The packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment differs from the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment in the structure of the cardboard side panels 50 and the cushioning material 20 used in the packaging material 100. The configuration of the packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment other than the cardboard side panels 50 and the cushioning material 20 is the same as the configuration of the packaging material 100 according to the first and second embodiments.

[0165] The side cardboard boxes 50 have corners 57 that are corners formed by adjacent side surfaces of the side cardboard boxes 50. When viewed in the first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ), the side cardboard boxes 50 have corners 57 of the side cardboard boxes 50 that are located outside the housing corners 250 that are located at both ends of the side surface portion 212 of the housing 210.

[0166] The side corrugated cardboard box 50 has a fold line 58 formed in a mountain fold on the side adjacent to the side of the side corrugated cardboard box 50 supported by the cushioning material 20, so as to protrude toward the side opposite to the side on which the product 200 to be packed in the side corrugated cardboard box 50 is placed. The fold line 58 is formed along a corner 57 of the side corrugated cardboard box 50. The side of the side corrugated cardboard box 50 supported by the cushioning material 20 is the left side corrugated cardboard box 52 and the right side corrugated cardboard box 54. The side of the side corrugated cardboard box 50 adjacent to the side supported by the cushioning material 20 is the front side corrugated cardboard box 51 and the rear side corrugated cardboard box 53.

[0167] When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the packaging material 100 of the third embodiment has fold lines 58 provided along the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the corners 57 near the left and right corners 57 of the front surface 51a and back surface 53a of the side corrugated cardboard 50. In other words, the front side corrugated cardboard 51 and the rear side corrugated cardboard 53 have fold lines 58 near the corners 57 that form the four corners when viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0168] The fold line portion 58 is a portion that is folded along the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the side cardboard box 50. The fold line portion 58 is formed so as to extend along the corner portion 57 in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the side cardboard box 50. The fold line portion 58 is a portion that is formed in a mountain fold shape so as to protrude outward from the side cardboard box 50, and is a portion that is formed in a mountain fold shape so as to protrude on the side opposite to the side on which the product 200 packed in the side cardboard box 50 is placed.

[0169] When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the front side corrugated cardboard 51 and the rear side corrugated cardboard 53 have an inner side surface portion 58a at the center and an outer side surface portion 58b at the end portions in the left-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200. When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the inner side surface portion 58a forms a side surface that is aligned with the left-right direction (X-axis direction), and the outer side surface portion 58b forms a side surface that is inclined with respect to the left-right direction (X-axis direction). The fold line portion 58 forms the boundary between the inner side surface portion 58a and the outer side surface portion 58b. When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the fold line portion 58 is formed at a position closer to the end portion than the center of the front side corrugated cardboard 51 and the rear side corrugated cardboard 53.

[0170] The product 200 has housing corners 250 at both ends in the front-to-rear direction (Y-axis direction) of the left side surface 212b and the right side surface 212d on which the cushioning material 20 is provided. In addition, the side corrugated cardboard 50 has corners 57 of the side corrugated cardboard 50 outside the housing corners 250 of the product 200. The packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment has fold lines 58 along the corners 57 of the side corrugated cardboard 50 in the front side corrugated cardboard 51 and the rear side corrugated cardboard 53, which are adjacent to the left side corrugated cardboard 52 and the right side corrugated cardboard 54 supported by the cushioning material 20.

[0171] When viewed in the first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ), the plurality of cushioning materials 20 have chamfered C-shaped portions 29 at cushioning material corners 29b, which are corners of the cushioning materials 20 on the side of the corners 57 of the side cardboard panels 50. When viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the cushioning materials 20 have C-shaped portions 29 at the cushioning material corners 29b.

[0172] In the front-to-back direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, the C-surface shaped portion 29 of the cushioning material 20 arranged near the rear side corrugated cardboard 53 has the following configuration: When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the C-surface shaped portion 29 forms a side wall between the side surface portion 29a facing the rear side corrugated cardboard 53 and the contact surface portion 21 facing the left side corrugated cardboard 52 or the right side corrugated cardboard 54. When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the C-surface shaped portion 29 is inclined with respect to the front-to-back direction (Y-axis direction) and left-to-right direction (X-axis direction) of the product 200.

[0173] In the front-to-back direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, the C-surface shaped portion 29 of the cushioning material 20 arranged near the front side cardboard box 51 has the following configuration: When viewed in the up-down direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, the C-surface shaped portion 29 forms a side wall between the side surface portion 29a facing the front side cardboard box 51 and the contact surface portion 21 facing the left side cardboard box 52 or the right side cardboard box 54. Note that when, in the front-to-back direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200, the side surface of the cushioning material 20 toward the center of the product 200 is defined as the inner side surface of the cushioning material 20 and the side surface of the cushioning material 20 toward the end of the product 200 is defined as the outer side surface of the cushioning material 20, the side surface portion 29a forms the outer side surface of the cushioning material 20.

[0174] [Effects of packaging material 100] Packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment has fold line 58 along corner 57 of side cardboard box 50 and near corner 57. Fold line 58 is formed in a mountain fold on the side of side cardboard box 50 adjacent to the side supported by cushioning material 20 so as to protrude in the opposite direction from the side on which product 200 to be packed in side cardboard box 50 is placed.

[0175] In the packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment, the side cardboard panels 50 have fold lines 58, so that the fold lines 58 of the side cardboard panels 50 bend preferentially even when the surface of the side cardboard panels 50 on the side where the cushioning material 20 is provided is pinched by the clamp-type forklift 300. Therefore, the packaging material 100 can suppress deformation of the side of the side cardboard panels 50 on the side where the cushioning material 20 is provided, allowing for a clean fold line, suppressing the occurrence of wrinkles at the corners 57 and the like of the side cardboard panels 50, and also suppressing the occurrence of tears.

[0176] Furthermore, the packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment has a chamfered C-shaped portion 29 at the corners 29c of the cushioning material 20. Therefore, compared to a case where the side cardboard boxes 50 are rectangular when viewed in the vertical direction (Z-axis direction) of the product 200, even if the corners 57 are located on the inside due to the fold line 58, the following effects can be obtained. Because the packaging material 100 has the above-described configuration, when a worker places the side cardboard boxes 50 over the product 200, the C-shaped portion 29 ensures a gap between the corners 57 and the cushioning material 20, making it less likely for the side cardboard boxes 50 and the cushioning material 20 to collide. In addition to the effects of the packaging material 100 according to the first embodiment, which includes the cushioning material 20, the packaging material 100 according to the third embodiment can further suppress the occurrence of wrinkles and tears at the corners 57 and other portions of the side cardboard boxes 50.

[0177] Embodiment 4. Figure 27 is a perspective view of the floor cushioning material 10 and floor cardboard 40 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 4. Figure 28 is a top view of the floor cushioning material 10 and floor cardboard 40 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 4. Figure 29 is an exploded perspective view of the floor cushioning material 10 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 4. Figure 30 is a vertical cross-sectional view of the floor cushioning material 10 of the packaging material 100 according to embodiment 4, taken along the line B-B of the floor cushioning material 10 in Figure 28, as viewed in the direction of the arrows. Parts having the same configuration as those in the packaging material 100 of Figures 1 to 28 are designated by the same reference numerals, and their description will be omitted.

[0178] The packaging material 100 according to the fourth embodiment has a different structure of the floor cushioning material 10 from the structure of the floor cushioning material 10 according to the first embodiment. The configuration of the packaging material 100 according to the fourth embodiment other than the floor cushioning material 10 is the same as the configuration of the packaging material 100 according to the first to third embodiments.

[0179] In the packaging material 100 according to the fourth embodiment, the floor cushioning material 10 includes an attachment portion 15. The floor cushioning material 10 includes a floor-side main body portion 11 that extends along a portion that forms one side of the bottom surface of the housing 210, and an attachment portion 15 that is detachably attached to the top surface of the floor-side main body portion 11.

[0180] 29 , the packaging material 100 according to the fourth embodiment has a plurality of openings 11a for inserting the mounting parts 15 on the upper surface of the floor-side main body 11, and the mounting parts 15 are attached by being inserted into the insertion openings 11a. A plurality of protruding projections 15d are formed on one surface of the mounting parts 15, and when the projections 15d are attached to the floor-side main body 11, the projections 15d are inserted into the openings 11a of the floor-side main body 11.

[0181] The mounting portion 15 is attached to the upper surface of the floor surface-side main body 11 of the floor cushioning material 10 by inserting the protrusion 15d into the opening 11a of the floor surface-side main body 11. The mounting portion 15 is detached from the upper surface of the floor surface-side main body 11 by pulling the protrusion 15d out of the opening 11a of the floor surface-side main body 11.

[0182] The mounting portion 15 forms a side wall that covers the side surface portion 212 of the product 200 along the floor surface-side main body portion 11. When the housing 210 is viewed in the first direction D1, the mounting portion 15 is formed such that an outer edge portion 15a of the mounting portion 15 on the side opposite to the side on which the housing 210 is placed extends beyond the floor cardboard side portion 42 that forms the side wall of the cardboard floor 40 and protrudes outward from the floor cardboard side portion 42. The outer edge portion 15a of the mounting portion 15 is the outer edge portion of the mounting portion 15 when the housing 210 is viewed in the first direction D1 (see FIG. 2 ), and is the portion that forms the outer edge of the housing 210 on the side opposite to the side on which the housing 210 is placed.

[0183] The mounting portion 15 is formed in a plate shape and is formed to extend along the longitudinal direction of the floor surface-side main body portion 11. When attached to the floor surface-side main body portion 11, the mounting portion 15 is formed to extend in the depth direction (Y-axis direction) of the product 200. When attached to the floor surface-side main body portion 11, the mounting portion 15 is formed to extend from the floor surface-side main body portion 11 upward of the floor surface-side main body portion 11, and forms a side wall that covers the side surface of the product 200 along the longitudinal direction of the floor surface-side main body portion 11.

[0184] When the mounting portion 15 is attached to the floor surface-side main body portion 11 of the floor cushioning material 10, it covers the upper edge portion 42a of the floor cardboard side portion 42 of the floor cardboard 40, and the outer edge portion 15a of the mounting portion 15 protrudes outward from the floor cardboard side portion 42 of the floor cardboard 40. Note that outward here refers to the direction opposite to the side on which the product 200 is placed, based on the position of the floor cushioning material 10, and toward the side covered by the side cardboard 50.

[0185] When attached to the floor surface-side main body 11 of the floor cushioning material 10, the outer edge 15a of the attachment portion 15 is provided so as to extend along the floor cardboard side surface portion 42 from near a cardboard corner 46 to near an adjacent cardboard corner 46. The cardboard corner 46 is a corner portion formed by the adjacent cardboard side surface portions 42.

[0186] The mounting portion 15 includes an inner surface portion 15b and an outer surface portion 15c. The inner surface portion 15b forms the inner wall of the mounting portion 15 and faces and abuts against the product 200 when the product 200 is packed in the packaging material 100, as shown in Fig. 30 . The outer surface portion 15c forms the outer wall of the mounting portion 15 and faces and abuts against the side cardboard box 50 when the product 200 is packed in the packaging material 100, as shown in Fig. 30 . The outer edge portion 15a is formed by one side of the outer surface portion 15c, and is formed by, for example, the lower edge portion of the outer surface portion 15c.

[0187] The outer surface portion 15c is preferably formed as an inclined surface. The outer surface portion 15c preferably forms an inclined surface facing upward and to the side when the product 200 is packaged in the packaging material 100. When a worker places the side cardboard box 50 over the floor cushioning material 10 attached to the product 200, the side cardboard box 50 slides along the outer surface portion 15c, and the outer surface portion 15c serves as a guide when moving the side cardboard box 50.

[0188] [[Action and Effect of Packaging Material 100]] The floor cushioning material 10 includes a floor-side main body portion 11 extending along a portion that forms one side of the underside of the housing 210, and an attachment portion 15 that is detachably attached to the upper surface of the floor-side main body portion 11. The attachment portion 15 forms a side wall that covers the side portion 212 of the product 200 along the floor-side main body portion 11. When the housing 210 is viewed in the first direction D1, an outer edge portion 15a of the attachment portion 15 on the side opposite to the side on which the housing 210 is arranged protrudes outward beyond the floor cardboard side portion 42 that forms the side wall of the floor cardboard floor 40.

[0189] When a worker places the side cardboard 50 around the product 200 so as to surround the outer edge 15a of the mounting portion 15, the side cardboard 50 in contact with the outer edge 15a is pushed outward by the outer edge 15a and becomes bulged.

[0190] When the left and right sides of the side cardboard box 50 configured in this way are clamped by the attachment 310 of the clamp-type forklift 300, the portion of the side cardboard box 50 that is bulged by the outer edge 15a comes into contact with the attachment 310 before the corners 57 (see FIG. 1) of the side cardboard box 50. Even when force is applied from the left and right by the metal plate 315 of the attachment 310, pushing the side cardboard box 50 inward, the side cardboard box 50 is supported by the mounting portions 15 provided along the floor cardboard side portions 42 of the floor cardboard box 40. Therefore, the packaging material 100 can prevent wrinkles from occurring at the corners 57 and other parts of the side cardboard box 50, and also prevents tears from occurring.

[0191] The above-described first to fourth embodiments can be implemented in combination with one another.
