Abstract

The present invention provides a multilayer ceramic capacitor which is capable of decreasing the possibility of penetration of moisture from the side of an external electrode. A multilayer ceramic capacitor 1 according to the present invention comprises an inner layer part 11 which has a first main surface-side region 11s1, a second main surface-side region 11s2, and a central region 11c that is positioned between the first main surface-side region 11s1 and the second main surface-side region 11s2. If Lc is the average thickness of contact parts of a dielectric layer 14 that is positioned between internal electrodes 15, which are adjacent to each other in the stacking direction and are exposed in the same surface, in the central region 11c, the contact parts being in contact with external electrodes 3, 4, and Ls is the average thickness of contact parts of the dielectric layer 14 that is positioned between the internal electrodes 15, which are adjacent to each other in the stacking direction and are exposed in the same surface, in at least one of the first main surface-side region 11s1 and the second main surface-side region 11s2, the contact parts being in contact with the external electrodes 3, 4, the relational expression Ls < 0.75Lc is satisfied.
