Abstract

A contamination detection system includes: a duct component that defines a sampling space; a sensor disposed within the sampling space, where the sensor samples a fluid within the sampling space to detect, as a sampled value, a trace component in the fluid; and a processor disposed within the duct component, where the processor receives the sampled value, and transmits the sampled value outside the duct component as an indication of contamination of the duct component.
