Abstract
Description
CIGARETTE INDUSTRY PACK AND A METHOD FOR ITS PRODUCTION FIELD OF INVENTION The invention relates to a pack for products of the cigar industry, with a wrapper that surrounds at least partially a group of products of the cigar industry as the contents of the package, wherein the wrapper is formed from a packaging material, and wherein the folding tabs of the packaging material are connected together by stitching, according to the general concept of claim 1. The invention also relates to a method for producing packaging for products in the cigar industry, in particular according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein a group of cigar industry products is at least partially wrapped as the contents of the packaging in a packaging material and wherein the folding tabs of the packaging material are connected together forming seams, to close the wrapper thus formed from packaging material, according to the preamble of claim 21. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The production of cigar packaging is a common practice, involving a group of cigars placed in a wrapper made of a sealable plastic film. The film is then closed by forming seams to create a so-called sealing block in which the cigars can be securely stored. It is known that the seams can be formed or closed by sealing layers of the film material. It is also known that the seams can be sealed against the group of cigars by sealing overlapping fold-over tabs of the film material, or so-called flap seams, without the pressure required during sealing acting on the overlapping layers of film material around the group of cigars. Basically, this type of packaging has proven its worth. However, some markets or countries have regulations governing the materials that cigarettes can come into contact with as part of the packaging. In particular, in such countries, cigarettes are not allowed to come into contact with coated materials and / or sealing agents (e.g., paint, glue, adhesive, etc.). Therefore, the use of the familiar cigarette packs of the type mentioned at the beginning is not possible, or only possible to a limited extent, in these countries. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION Based on this, the invention aims to further develop packaging of the type mentioned at the beginning, particularly with regard to at least partially eliminating the problems present in the prior art, and at least creating other designs. The invention also aims to propose a suitable method for producing such packs. A cigarette pack according to the invention has the characteristics of claim 1. Accordingly, the wrapper is expected to be formed from a paper-based packaging material. This solution has the advantage over the previous technique that paper wrapping is easier to recycle than the familiar plastic wrapping. OR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli For the purposes of this application, paper-based packaging material is defined as a material consisting at least partially of paper. In the case of a multi-layer or multi-film structure, at least one layer or film may consist at least partially of paper. In the case of a single-layer structure, the packaging material or at least one layer or film may therefore consist at least partially of paper. Preferably, the layer or film consists predominantly or entirely of paper. Mixtures of substances for the layer or film with a paper content, preferably a high paper content, are also conceivable. The packaging material preferably contains the least amount of plastic possible. Any coatings on the packaging material, such as varnishes, glues, paint, or the like, are not considered in this definition and therefore do not count towards the structure of the actual packaging material. Furthermore, it can be anticipated that the group of products will be arranged on a tray of packaging material and that the wrapping will surround the group of products and the tray. Preferably, the wrapping is expected to have a large front side, a corresponding large opposite side, narrow sides connecting the front and back sides, as well as a bottom side and an opposite front side, wherein the bottom side and the front side are adjacent to the front, back, and narrow sides. Furthermore, the lid may be provided to have an extraction opening that can be closed by means of a locking means that can be operated several times, the locking means being formed by a paper base. Paper-based closures can extend across one end face of the wrapper and essentially cover it. Alternatively, the closure may be narrower than the end face of the packaging and not cover it on one or both sides where it transitions to one or both narrow sides. Furthermore, it can be expected that the folding tabs of the paper-based packaging material will be materially connected to each other in the seam area. In a preferred embodiment, the group of products surrounded by a paper-based packaging material is arranged as an inner package in an outer package, particularly in an outer package of the hinged lid type. In a preferred embodiment, it can also be provided that the seams of the wrapping are formed as tab seams from a paper-based packaging material. Preferably, the packaging material can be expected to have a paper base with a basis weight of 30 to 140 g / m2, in particular with a basis weight of 30 to 90 g / m2, most preferably 30 to 70 g / m2. Another special feature may be that the paper-based packaging material has a coating on one side with a material for joining the folding tabs in the seam area. Preferably, the coating is only provided in the area of the folding tabs that will be joined. The coating can be formed from one or more of the following materials: - hot melt glue, nR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli - cold glue or dispersion glue, - PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive), - sealing wax, especially polymer-based sealing wax. In a preferred embodiment, it can be provided that the wrapping has seams running parallel to the longitudinal axis of the wrapping, in particular longitudinal seams, and that the wrapping has seams extending transversely to the longitudinal axis of the wrapping, in particular transverse seams. Furthermore, it can be foreseen that the seams of the lining, in particular the transverse seams and / or the longitudinal seams, will be folded against adjacent side surfaces of the lining and fixed there to the lining by means of glue. In addition, it may be provided that the seams, in particular the longitudinal seams, are folded in the area of the narrow sides of the lid in the direction of a front or back side of the lid. Preferably, it can be foreseen that, in the case of wrappers with seams folded in the direction of the front side, the packaging does not have a collar in the area of the narrow sides of the wrapper and the folded seams are joined to the wrapper by adhesive bonding, in particular to avoid a collision of a lid of the packaging with the folded seams when the lid of the packaging is closed. A special feature may be that the packaging material has a vapor barrier coating on one side opposite the contents of the packaging, in particular a coating of waxy material or aluminum. In a preferred embodiment, it can be provided that the packaging has two flange seams in the narrow side area of the packaging, as well as a flange seam on the front or back side, which is directed transversely to the flange seams in the narrow side area. Preferably, it can be foreseen that the group is arranged on a tray, and that the wrapping only partially encloses the group with the tray, especially in the area of the extraction opening, and that the area of the group that is not wrapped by the wrapping is enclosed by the tray (over the entire surface). Furthermore, it may be provided that the wrapping is physically connected to the tray, particularly at the transition between a lower end of the wrapping. It may also be provided that the seams, particularly in the narrow side area, are configured as wrap-like folds, where the overlapping fold tabs of the packaging material are physically connected to each other in the seam area. Another special feature may be that the seams in the narrow side area are designed as wrap pleats and the seams in the other side area are designed as tab seams, particularly in the front, back or bottom area. Preferably, the locking means can be provided to be connected to a lid of the outer packaging, so that when the lid is opened, the locking means automatically open accordingly to expose the extraction opening, and that the locking means automatically close accordingly when the lid is closed. OR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli A method according to the invention has the features of claim 21. It is therefore provided that the wrapping is formed from a paper-based packaging material, wherein the folding tabs of the paper-based packaging material are connected together in a materially adhered manner in the area of the seams. In addition, it can be anticipated that a coating will be applied on one side with a material for a connection of the folding tab material wrapping the paper-based packaging material in the area of the seams. The coating is preferably applied only to the area of the folding tabs that are to be joined. In a preferred embodiment, the cladding may be provided to be made of one or more of the following materials: - hot melt glue, - cold glue or dispersion glue, - PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive), - sealing wax, especially polymer-based sealing wax. Preferably, the coating can be applied in one or more of the following patterns (on the folding tabs to be connected): - punctate, - in the form of a strip, - partial area, - everywhere. Furthermore, it can be anticipated that the coating for bonding the material of the folding tabs in the seam area will be activated by one or more of the following treatments: - activation of glue or adhesive by pressure, - reactivation of the hot glue by means of heat. A special feature may be that the paper-based packaging material is provided with one or more coatings in the packaging manufacturing process. It is conceivable that the coating for the integral connection of the folding tabs is applied in the area of the seams in the packaging manufacturing process. It is also conceivable that in the packaging manufacturing process a vapor barrier coating is applied to the packaging material on the side opposite the contents of the packaging, in particular a coating of waxy material or aluminum. It is also conceivable that in the packaging manufacturing process a coating is applied to the packaging material, defining non-adhesive areas, in particular by applying a silicone-based coating or an acrylic sealing lacquer. It is also conceivable that a coating is applied to the paper-based packaging material during the packaging manufacturing process, in order to design the inner packaging. Preferably, the applied coatings are expected to be treated in a drying unit in the packaging manufacturing process. nR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli In addition, it can be expected that the paper-based packaging material will undergo preheating in the packaging manufacturing process. Other preferred details and details of the invention can also be found in the figures and description. BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES The preferred embodiments of the invention are described below with reference to the figures. It is shown: Fig. 1: a first pack of cigars with the lid open, Fig. 2: a group of cigars in a wrapper, Fig. 3: a first cut for the wrapping, Fig. 4: a second blank space for the wrapping, Fig. 5: a third blank space for the wrapping, Fig. 6: A schematic side view of an apparatus for producing the packaging, Fig. 7: a detail of the device in zone Vil of Fig. 6 in an enlarged view, Fig. 8: a side view of the detail in the direction of arrow VIII in Fig. 7, Fig. 9: a detail of the device in area IX of Fig. 6 in an enlarged view, Fig. 10: a second pack of cigars with the lid open, Fig. 11: a group of cigars in a second wrapper, Fig. 12: a group of cigars in a third (partial) wrapper, Fig. 13: a first step to wrap a group in a blank space, Fig. 14: a second step to wrap a group in a blank space, Fig. 15: a third step to wrap a group in a blank space, Fig. 16: a third pack of cigars with the lid open, and Fig. 17: a group of cigars in a quarter wrapper. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The invention is explained below with reference to the s 10 cigar packaging 11. Needless to say, the s 10 packaging is also suitable for other products in the cigar industry. In the context of the application, tobacco industry products are understood to mean tobacco products such as cigars, cigarettes and the like, but also novel tobacco products such as non-burning heat products or liquid carriers for electronic cigarettes. In the case of the package 10 shown in Figs. 1 and 2, a group 12 of cigars 11 is provided as the package contents. The group 12 is wrapped in a wrapper 13 made of packaging material. A removal opening 14 can be closed by a closing means 15 that can be operated several times. This inner packaging 16 or wrapper 13 has a large front side 17, a corresponding opposite large back side 18, as well as narrow sides 19 connecting the front side 17 and the back side 18 to each other. In addition, a bottom side 20 and a front face 21 are provided, each of which borders the front side 17, the back side 18, and the narrow sides 19. nR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli The locking means 15 extend essentially over the entire front face 21 and are attached with one end to the rear side 18. Another end of the locking means 15 extends into the front side area 17. The locking means 15 cover the extraction opening 14 on all sides. At one lower end of the locking means 15, a folding tab 22 is provided for opening the locking means 15. During the manufacture of packaging 10, the wrapping 13 is wrapped around group 12 and hermetically sealed by forming seams 23 to create a so-called sealing block. As usual, several layers of the packaging material are bonded together. In this case, the folding tabs of the packaging material are intended to rest against each other in the area of the two narrow sides 19 and be joined together by a seam 23 in the flapping area. The same applies to the area of the back side 18 of the wrapper 13. Fig. 2 shows that the seams 23 in the region of the narrow sides 19 are folded after the folding tabs of the packing material have been connected and placed against the narrow sides 19, the seams 23 are folded in the direction of the back side 18. The seams 23 form a closed envelope 13 in which the contents of the package are protected from harmful influences. In the area of the extraction opening 14, the envelope 13 is closed by the closing means 15. The inner packaging 16 or wrapping 13 according to Fig. 2 can be housed in an outer packaging 24 according to Fig. 1. In this case, the outer packaging 24 is configured as a hinged-lid packaging with a box portion 25 and a lid 26 pivotally positioned thereon. Furthermore, the outer packaging 24 may have a collar 27. Of course, it is also possible that outer packaging 24 may have a different construction. It is also conceivable that outer packaging 24 may be missing. In this case, the terms packaging 10, wrapping 13, and inner packaging 16 should be used interchangeably. To open the closure means 15 of the inner packaging 16, the folding tab 22 is attached to the inside of a front wall of the lid 26, for example, by means of glue. In this way, the closure means 15 opens automatically when the lid 26 is opened and closes automatically when the lid 26 is closed. Alternatively, it is conceivable, for example, that the closure means 15 of the inner packaging 16 may be opened and closed manually, for example, by the consumer grasping the folding tab 22. A special feature is that the closure medium 15 consists of paper and is provided with an adhesive layer on the underside to close the extraction opening 14. Here, for example, a PSA (pressure sensitive glue) from UPM Raflatac (type RC13), which has a reduced adhesive strength, can be used. Another feature of the paper closure means 15 may consist in the fact that they extend essentially over the entire front face 21, preferably over the entire surface of the entire front face 21. Figures 3 to 5 show three blanks 28 for wrappers 13 in an unfolded and extended state. The blank areas for the individual side surfaces of the wrapper 13 are delimited from each other by fold lines 29. At the edge there are front-side folding tabs 30 for the transverse seams and longitudinal folding tabs 31 for the longitudinal seams, the transverse seam and the longitudinal seams each being designed as tab seams. Furthermore, Figures 3 to 5 show the arrangement of the coatings composed of cold glue 32, hot glue 33, and sealing wax 34. It is shown as an example that the cold glue 32 is applied selectively, the hot glue 33 to part of the surface, and the sealing wax 34 to the entire surface of the folding tabs 30 and 31 to be joined. The coatings for connecting the folding tabs 30 and 31 are attached to one side of the blanks 28, i.e., on an inner side (facing the contents of the package). In addition, Figs. 3 to 5 show the position of a print mark 35 and the position of the ventilation tabs 36. The blank 28 according to Fig. 5 also features a silicone coating 37 in the area of the hinged tab 22. Silicone coating 37 is applied to the exterior and serves as a passivating agent (“shock absorber”) for the adhesive layer of the sealing media. It goes without saying that the application patterns of the coatings described above should be understood purely as examples and that other application patterns or coating patterns can also be used, for example, the materials mentioned at the beginning. Fig. 6 shows a conceivable structure of a device for producing the inner packing 16. A strip of material 39 is taken from the reels 38 and guided through a splicer 40. From there, the strip of material 39 passes through a pendulum hopper 41. This is followed by a strip edge control 42. Along the additional transport path, printing units 43, 44 are provided on both sides of the material web 39, allowing the web 39 to be processed. In this instance, a printing unit 43 is used beneath the material web 39 to coat and / or print it. For example, decorative printing on the outside of the material web 39 and / or the application of silicone coating 37 are possible. On the other side of the material web 39, a printing unit 44 is provided for applying glue 32, 33 or sealing wax 34 to connect the folding tabs. It is also possible for the printing unit 44 to be used to print the inside of the material web 39, for example, to print the side of the material web 39 facing the packaging contents. It is understood that the printing unit or units 43, 44 may consist of one or more printing units. It is also understood that, depending on the design of the inner packaging 16, the printing units 43, 44 may be arranged on one of the two sides of the material strip 39. Following the printing units 43, 44, the coated material strip 39 passes through a drying unit 45. The drying unit 45 serves to dry the applied coatings and can preferably work on a UV base. The material strip 39 that has been prepared so far in the manufacturing method is then transported by a feed roller 46 to the area of two labeling devices 47, where the material strip 39 is provided with the closing means 15. It is conceivable that a different number of labeling devices 47 can also be provided. Next, the material strip 39 provided with the closing means 15 is guided through a punching unit 48, where perforations can be made to form the extraction openings 14 in the material strip 39 and / or the ventilation tabs 36. Next, the continuous band of material 39 reaches the area of a forming shoulder 49, over which it is passed, to form a tube around the contents of the supplied packaging. Group 12 of cigars 11 is arranged on a tray 50 made of packaging material, with the tray 50 surrounding the group 12 on several sides. The tray 50 can be formed from a rigid packaging material, such as thick paper or cardboard. The groups 12 with the tray 50 are conveyed with a longitudinal extension transverse to the direction of conveying according to arrow 51 and are wound into a tube shape in a material band 39 made of the packaging material. Inside the tube of the material band 39, the individual groups 12 with the tray 50 are arranged at a distance from each other. A continuous seam 23 is then formed, extending parallel to the direction of conveying according to arrow 51 and running in the area of what will later become the back side 18 of the inner packaging 16. This seam 23 is also referred to hereafter as the transverse seam, since it extends transversely to the longitudinal extension of the inner packaging 16. To form the cross seam, pressing or sealing tools 52, basically known from the prior art, are arranged beneath the packaging strip. In addition, tools 53 are provided for folding the cross seam against the wrapping 13. A pressure element 54 is provided above the packaging strip, which presses the material strip 39 against the groups 12 or trays 50 and thus flattens the material strip 39. Figure 7 shows the feeding of groups 13 into tray 50 along the larger-scale packaging path and the wrapping of groups 13 in tray 50 onto the continuous web of material 39 in the forming shoulder area 49. Also shown are the glue units 55 and 56, which are used to join glue points 57 to connect the folding tabs. Glue units 55 are used to apply glue to the folding tabs 31 for the longitudinal seam, and glue units 56 are used to apply glue to the folding tabs 30 for the transverse seam. Figure 8 shows the arrangement of glue units 55 and 56 in detail. Glue units 55 are arranged in a row in several groups, and glue units 56 are arranged at the edge of the web of material 39. In the next step, the material strip 39 is divided among the individual groups 12, thus achieving separation. In the process, seams 23 are also formed, running transversely to the transport direction according to arrow 51. These seams 23 are located in the area of the narrow sides 19 of the inner packaging 16 and are also called longitudinal seams, since their length is parallel to the longitudinal axis of the inner packaging 16. Figure 9 shows the separation of the internal packaging 16. In this case, the rotating rollers are arranged on both sides of the packaging belt. A first roller 58 has cutting blades 59 that are arranged on the circumference of the roller 58 and that work together with a counterpart 60 in the OR LL Ln / Lznz / E / Yli counter roller 61 for cutting the packaging material between groups 12. The counterpart 60 of the counter roller 61 can be designed as the cutting blade 59 or as a simple block on which the cutting blade 59 rests for cutting the packaging material. On both sides of the separating blade 59 or its counterpart 60, transverse pressers or transverse sealing elements 62 are formed, which create the seams 23. Using this device, an inner packing 16 can be produced from a paper-based packing material. The packing material can be plain paper or coated paper, for example, with an inner layer of paper and an outer layer of waxy material or aluminum. The variations described at the beginning are also possible. Applying paint to the inside or outside, either to the entire surface or to specific areas, is also feasible. The folding tabs in the seam area 23 can be joined with glue or other sealing agents. The types and patterns of glue can vary. Tools compatible with the glue are used to join the folding tabs. If paper-based closure means 15 are also used, the inner packaging 16 can be completely free of plastic. As an alternative to applying glue, it is also possible to use a pre-coated paper web 39, which is coated during the packaging process (inline). Using digital printing units, for example, from Xaar (XAAR1002 | XAAR1003U UV printing units, inkjet printing systems, Xaar5601 piezoelectric printheads, or the Xaar Print Bar System) or other manufacturers, the coating can be applied to the entire surface or directly after the web edge check 42. The following options are particularly feasible: - Application of interior sealing wax to join the seams 23, - Application of exterior or interior paint to print the material band 39, -External application of a silicone layer 37 in the area of the folding tab 22 of the closing means 15. With the drying unit 45, the applied coatings (colored sealing wax or silicone layer) can be cured. The closing means 15 are then joined, and the material strip 39 is formed into a tube over the forming shoulder 49 and closed with the appropriate pressure or sealing tools 52. To support the sealing tools 52, additional preheating of the material strip 39 can be provided, for example, in front of the transverse sealing tools on the material strip 39 or by means of a heated forming shoulder 49. Figures 10 and 11 show a variant of the first exemplary embodiment of packaging 10. The wrapping 13 and the closing means 15 are configured essentially as in the first exemplary embodiment, but the seams 23 in the narrow side area 19 are configured as the envelope is folded. The cross seam is arranged in the lower side area 20 and not in the back side area 18, but as a tab seam as in the first exemplary embodiment. Fig. 12 shows an economical alternative to the solution according to Fig. 11, namely with a partial wrapper 13 which, starting from the front face 21, extends along the narrow sides 19, the back side 18 and the front side 17, but terminates at a distance from the bottom side 20. Instead of a cross seam, a glue connection is provided between the tray 50 and the bottom edge of the wrapper 13 to close the wrapper 13. Unlike the first exemplary modality, all the variants shown in Figs. 10 to 12 do without a collar 27. Instead, the wrappers 13 contain a tray 50 which takes the role of the collar 27 and helps to stabilize the lid 26 when closed. Figure 13 shows the first step of the packaging method, indicating the tail connections for the version according to Figure 11 and as shown in Figure 15. The tray 50 with the group 12 is wrapped around the blank 28 with the front side 19 first, and the blank 28 is then wrapped around the group 12 in the longitudinal direction. Figure 14 shows the design of the seam 23 as a tab seam, which is then folded on the lower side 20 (Figure 15). Next, the folding tabs are folded in the area of the narrow sides 19, and the seams 23 are formed there. Figures 11 to 15 consistently show the use of glue applied in the form of glue dots 57 to the folding tabs or to the edge of the blank 28. Needless to say, all other material joining variants described in the application are also, for example, a sealing wax. Figures 16 and 17 show a variant of the packaging 10 or envelope 13 shown in Figures 1 and 2. First, it can be seen that in the example shown in Figures 16 and 17, the collar 27 shown in the example according to Figures 1 and 2 is missing. Collar 27, for example, can be omitted for sustainability reasons, as it reduces material consumption in the manufacture of packaging 10. Of course, this also leads to a reduction in the manufacturing costs of packaging 10. The closing process of lid 26 is problematic when there is no collar 27. The applicant has acknowledged that during the closing of lid 26, it may happen that the side walls of lid 26 collide with the seams 23 of wrapper 13 that are folded back, if these are not held by a collar 27 on the narrow sides 19 of wrapper 13. To solve this problem, it is proposed to fold the seams 23 in the region of the narrow sides 19 of the wrapping 13 in the direction of the front side 17 and connect them to the narrow sides 19 of the wrapping 13 before the wrapping 13 is inserted into a packaging 10. This ensures that the side walls of the lid 26 can slide past the seams 23 of the housing 13 in the area of the narrow sides 19 when the lid 26 is closed. The connection between the seams 23 and the wrapping 13 can serve to overcome the restoring forces of the folded seams 23. For this purpose, for example, hot melt adhesive 33 (hot glue track or glue spot) could be used. In summary, it should be noted that a paper-based Material 39 web is used in all variants. This web may have an outer aluminum layer, so that instead of a pure paper web, a Material 39 web made of a foil-aluminum laminate is processed. It is also possible to use a Material 39 web made of metallized paper, i.e., a paper web with a vapor-deposited metal coating. The Material 39 web can be coated during the process or supplied pre-coated. This also applies to other coatings, such as sealing wax. These can be applied (partially or completely) either during the packaging process or in advance. If the use of a paper-based Material 39 belt is not desired or necessary, the following Material 39 belts may also be used, for example: - Triplex film with layers of OPP (white), aluminum and PET, - Triplex film with PP, aluminum and PET layers, - Triplex film with OPP (printed in white), aluminum layer and PET, - Duplex film with PP (white or printed) and metallized PET layer. The sheets, as well as the material band 39, may preferably be white on the side facing the contents of the package (i.e., the inside). This can be achieved either by using a suitable material or by applying appropriate paint.
